This document outlines several personal, environmental, and methodological factors that influence learning. Personal factors include sensation, fatigue, age, emotions, interests, motivation, intelligence, aptitude, and attitude. Environmental factors comprise natural, social, and cultural surroundings as well as relationships and media influences. Methods of learning discussed are whole vs. parts learning, mediated learning, spaced vs. unspaced learning, recitation, memory systems involving encoding, storage, and retrieval, and laws of association including contiguity, similarity, and contrast.
