U.s. Marines Vs. Theu.s. Army
Comparison/Contrast Essay: The U.S. Marines vs. The U.S. Army
If one individual is seeking for a position higher than themselves with leadership opportunities,
advanced skills, and training, the military might be the answer. There are places a person can go based
off their military occupational specialty, possibly an endless amount of opportunities. The U.S.
Marines and the U.S. Army perform duties to establish a stronger nation. The U.S. Marines is a proud
organization, being first to fight in defense of country and fighting record . The U.S. Marines is an
elite group that has accomplished deeds the world will never forget. The U.S. Army consists of a large

Wireless Security And The Internet
Introduction
We live in a day and age where everything can be done through the internet, whether it s
entertainment, such as playing game and watching movies, or more critical things such as managing
confidential information such as bank accounts. This is why it is essential to secure your network. This
is done for many reasons, since unauthorized users can steal data, alter it or even use your network to
preform illegal activities, which you will be responsible since it s your network.
Nowadays, most of us use a local wireless network to connect onto the internet. This has become the
norm since more and more devices, such as smartphones and tablets, are being introduced into our
lives. Protecting a wireless network can be more complicated that a wired network, since wired
networks are an A to B connection through a cable. Wireless networks broadcast data to every device
that happens to be listening. This makes wireless networks much more vulnerable
Wireless Security Protocols A Brief History
Different protocols for wireless security were used throughout the years. In 1997, Wired Equivalent
Privacy (WEP) was introduced. It is a security algorithm that was part of the original 802.11 standard.
It was suppose to provide data confidentiality comparable to that of wired networks. WEP has many
well known security flaws, is difficult to configure, and is easily broken.
However, in 2003, the Wi fi Protected Access (WPA) security protocol has replaced the WEP standard.

Tesco Marketing
INTRODUCTION
Marketing is essentially a matching process between the needs and expectations of customers, and the
organization s ability and capacity to satisfy them.
One of the main points of this process is the marketing planning.
The purpose of marketing planning and its principal focus are the identification and creation of
competitive advantage. Marketing planning is the planned application of marketing resources to
achieve marketing objectives.
In other words, it is the written document that describes your advertising and marketing efforts for the
coming year; it includes a statement of the marketing situation, a discussion of target markets and
company positioning and a description of the marketing mix you intend to use to ... Show more

Add to that a high rate of unemployment causes a drop in effective demand for goods, that demand
requiring for the production of goods.
While these economic factors are largely outside the control of Tesco, they have an undeniable impact
on the company business performance and its marketing decisions.
Tesco operates in a global world and is now located in several countries, and this international
business is still growing, but it remains dependent on the UK market. This excessive concentration on
a single market exposes them to risks and would be negatively affected by any slowdown in the UK
food market (as the crisis of mad cow in the 1990s)
Finally, the economic crisis, which is still current, tends to reduce the purchasing power of consumers,
who are much more reluctant and afraid to spend more than they can.
New technologies have had a great impact. For instance, online shopping has become a major factor in
Tesco s recent success.
Technology is the basis for the development of many products in the Tesco range. These new
technologies have provided consumers than the company itself.
Consumer satisfaction is higher because services are more personalized and responsive to each and
shopping becomes more enjoyable and seems less arduous. To obtain customer satisfaction, Tesco has
put in place in its stores the following technologies:

Joint Tactical Radio Systems
Tactical Radio Systems: The Joint Tactical Radio Systems can be described as inexpensive radio
systems that are software programmable and offer reliable, secure, data, multi channel voice, and
video communications for mobile users in the military. The tactical radio systems provide an all
inclusive, safe, and multi channel mobile communications network ability for ground vehicles. The
deliver communications networking capabilities that enable the transfer of several megabits of data
per second on moving ground vehicles at the tactical edge. Consequently, the systems places total
power and control of the Global Information Grid into the warfighters and take the situational
awareness of network beyond the center for tactical operations (Simonsen, 2011). Due to its huge
impact, the tactical radio systems have been touted as the next generation radio for voice and data
services that will be used by the United States military in their field operations after 2010. The reason
for this consideration is the fact that the systems will work with most of the current military and
civilian radios because they incorporate integrated encryption and networking software that facilitate
the development of mobile ad hoc networks. These systems have been developed on the software
communications architecture, which is a framework that provides information to designers on how
software and hardware can function in harmony. One of the main advantages of this framework is that
it manages the

A Summary Of John Locke And Jean-Jacques Rousseau
The Enlightenment period questioned traditional methods of educating children and introduced
revolutionary new ways of thinking to bring about improvements in education and to actual allow
students to enjoy learning. Before the Enlightenment, children were treated like small adults with no
thought given to the development of very young children and once they were old enough to receive
education it consisted of forced memory work along with harsh discipline (Platz Arellano, 2011). The
Enlightenment changed this way of thinking by questioning what we are like naturally like (human
nature), vs how we are influence by society (Norris, 2017, slide 25). It brought about the belief in the
possibility of improvement of all of humanity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Locke left London to live in France and Holland because of health issues, he wrote letters to
Edward and Mary Clark telling them his thoughts on how they should educate their son. These letters
were later published in 1632 as Some Thoughts Concerning Education (Murphy, 2006 ).
Locke s Some Thoughts Concerning Education criticizes the teaching methods of that time and
suggests improvements but it also covers a wide range of other topics like how children should be
dress, what they should eat, the importance of regularly going to the bathroom, and the need for
physical activity, all of which goes towards making a sound mind in a sound body (Locke, 1692,
sec.1). Locke (1692) states the importance of education when he writes, that of all the men we meet
with, nine parts of ten are what they are, good or evil, useful or not, by their education (sec. 1).
Although Locke s treatise on education was written for boys of the gentlemen class (Shouse, 1931. p.
25), it was implied that he was writing for the education of all children, including girls. Locke s
educational theory emphasized nurture over nature because as Henson (2003) states, he introduced the
idea of tabula rasa or blank slate, proposing that at birth the mind is a blank slate the only way to fill it
is through having experiences, feeling these experiences, and reflecting on them (p.7). Locke believed
in finding a virtuous tutor when children were young to lead them by good

completely cold shouldered unfold. Terrell then tells us how now that he has a Philly Cheese Steak in

Terrell is drowning in attractive women. Who creepily watch and follow every move he makes.

Monetary Policy For The Entire Euro Area
ECB The European Central bank in Frankfurt, Germany defines the monetary policy for the entire
Euro area. It is a single monetary authority with a single monetary policy and primary objective to
maintain price stability. The ECB sets interest rates at which it lends to commercial banks in the
Eurozone. This controls money supply and inflation. It manages the Eurozones foreign currency
reserves and the buying or selling currencies to balance exchange rates. It ensures that financial
markets and institutions are well supervised. This makes sure the payments systems work well. It
produces Euro s banknotes by Eurozone countries. Last, the ECB monitors price trends and risks to
price stability. There are three decision making bodies: Governing Council, Executive Board, and
General council. Governing Council is the main decision making body that assesses economic and
monetary developments. The Executive Board implements monetary policy and manages day to day
operations. The General Council has more of an advisory and coordination role to help prepare for
new countries joining the euro. The ECB works with the national central banks of all EU countries.
Together they are the European System of Central Banks. This helps with cooperation between central
banks and the Eurozone. The ECB chose a quantitative definition of price stability with three main
reasons: to make monetary policy more transparent, provide a yardstick against what the public can
hold the ECB accountable, and is

Is generalised Genetic Screening for Factor V Leiden Necessary?
===============================================================
Genetic screening has no doubt have been the one of the most controversial issue in the branch of
medicine.
The new issue has recently triggered the on going debate: the dilemma of whether the Government
should allow the Genetic screening of all 16 year old girls for mutation in specific gene called the
Factor V which sometimes lead to condition called the DVT , or not.
In the essay I will suggest on why we should not do the screening.

Factor V Leiden is a single nucleotide substitution Guanine to Adenine at nucleotide 1691 which is
responsible for the single amino acid replacement (Arg506Gln).
Factor V Leiden is inactivated by the protein C and S nearly 10 times slower than the normal Factor V,
resulting in increased clotting factor that is why it is commonly called APC Resistance.
Factor V Leiden is the most common genetic cause of venous thrombosis, which leads to deadly
pulmonary embolism when the part of the clot breaks away to the pulmonary artery. It is involved in
20 40% of cases and is present in 3% of the general population.
The other major genetic causes of venous thrombosis (deficiencies of protein C and S) together
account for only 5 10% of cases.
Factor V Leiden increases the risk of venous thrombosis 3 8 times for heterozygous (one bad gene
inherited) and substantially more, 30 140 times for homozygous (two bad gene inherited) individuals.
2% of the general population was found to be heterozygous.
Risk is increased still further in situations such as pregnancy, oral contraceptive use, estrogen therapy,
malignancy, diabetes mellitus, immobilization, surgery, trauma, high blood pressure, obesity, smoking
or long time travel (commonly called economy class syndrome). In these cases risk of clotting can
increase dramatically.

The Role Of Alienation And The Khalistan Movement
The communal tension in Punjab during the 1970s and 1980s stems from the alienation of Sikh youth
that occurred during the ethos of the 20th century; moreover, the heightening estrangement the youth
had experienced from society impelled them to disavow any shred of patriotism from their psyches
and contriving an atmosphere conducive to radical behavior and opposition to the self perceived
notion of tyranny by the Indian Government; moreover, the Sikhs who had felt betrayed by the Indian
government succumbed to their victim complex, perpetuating the cycle of rebellion and instilling
vindictive behaviors in their children . Drawing the analogues between alienation and the Khalistan

Punjab at the time was heavily reliant upon its agricultural industry, therefore jeopardizing the
livelihood of many rural farmers whose only source of income was incumbent upon their employment
in the farming industry. Unfortunately for the farmers, the Green Revolution had crippled their only
source of income, leaving them economically vulnerable. Naturally, the farmers turned to the
government to voice their concerns; however, the government refused to acknowledge the problem as
a significant one, alienating the already vulnerable farmers (Mooney). Deeply rooted in the nature of
humans is the desire to sustain oneself and turning to more powerful sources. In the absence of
support, one s psyche experiences isolation. Consequently, the Green Revolution served as the onset
of alienation within the Sikh community. In the midst of pecuniary struggles faced by the farmers,
many Sikhs were compelled to abandon their homes in rural Punjab in search of a prosperous life
where one could feed his family and educate his children in places where such possibilities existed.
Furthermore, most Sikhs were able to overcome adversity in the midst of transition and integrate into
mainstream society, mostly comprised of an amalgamation of Hindus and already integrated Sikhs.
However, a significant population of rural Sikhs failed to tolerate the prospect of homogenization in
society as the notion that their culture and religion would dissolve incessantly lingered

Romeo And Juliet Free Will Quotes Analysis
Rosa Parks overcame adversity in society to become an activist in the civil rights movement. In the
famous play Romeo Juliet, by Shakespeare, two teenagers from rival houses, Capulet and Montague,
meet at a masquerade, fall in love, get married, and meet a tragic end. The theme of Romeo Juliet is
free will is fundamentally more in control of determining our destiny than fate is.
In Act I, Scene iv, Romeo was complaining to Mercutio about how [Romeo] dreamt a dream tonight
and it gave him a bad feeling about going to the Capulet s masquerade (I, iv, 50). Mercutio replied
with True, I talk of dreams; which are the children of idle brains (I, iv, 98). Mercutio is telling Romeo
to do something rather than be depressed about Rosaline rejecting him. Mercutio is telling Romeo to
find someone new and forget about Rosaline. Romeo should go to the party and find someone to help
him forget about Rosaline.
In Act II, Scene iii. Friar John told Romeo and Juliet in one respect I ll thy assistant be; for this
alliance May so happy prove to turn your households rancor to pure love (II, ii, 90). Friar John hastily

Barbados Slave Code Of Dominos Essay
The fear of rebellion is what gave the colonies the idea to pass a chain of laws that restricted many of
the slave s rights. Each colony had a diverge set of ideas about the rights of the slaves. There were
some similar aspects in the slave codes across the land where slavery was the most frequent. Slaves
were legally considered property, which did not give them the option to own land. If there was no
presence of a white person, slaves were not allowed to congregate. Any slave that lived off the
plantation had to follow the special curfew or there would be severe consequences. In the chance that
a slave was in court being accused of any criminal act towards a white person, the slave would have
no chance to testify. Slaves were always absent in the jury. Slave codes had many destructive effects
on the lives of African Americans. It was illegal to teach a slave how to read and write. Many white
Christians tried to educate slaves on how to read the Bible; however, those same people did not
approve of marriage between the slaves. This way it made it easier to sell a member of the family to
another owner without causing strife between the owner and slaves. These laws set the foundation for
a law called the Barbados Slave code of 1661.
The Barbados Slave Code of 1661 was a law passed by the colonial English legislature to provide
legal basis for slavery in the Caribbean Island of Barbados. The codes preamble, which stated that the
law s purpose was to protect slaves as we do

The Purpose Of Collecting Fingerprints
The purpose of collecting fingerprints is to identify an individual. This person may be the suspect, a
victim, or a witness. There are three types of fingerprints that can be found: latent, patent, and plastic.
(Crime Museum, 2016) Latent fingerprints are made of the sweat and oil on the skin s surface. This
type of fingerprint is invisible to the naked eye and requires additional processing in order to be seen.
This processing can include basic powder techniques or the use of chemicals. Patent fingerprints can
be made by blood, grease, ink, or dirt. This type of fingerprint is easily visible to the human eye.
Plastic fingerprints are three dimensional impressions and can be made by pressing your fingers in

Non porous rough surfaces include vinyl, leather, and other textured surfaces. For porous surfaces,
scientists sprinkle chemicals such as ninhydrin over the prints and then take photographs of the
developing fingerprints. For non porous smooth surfaces, experts use powder and brush techniques,
followed by lifting tape. For rough surfaces, the same powdering process is used, but instead of using
regular lifting tape for these prints, scientists use something that will get into the grooves of the
surface such as a gel lifter or Microcell (a silicone casting material). Once a print is collected, analysis
can begin. During analysis, examiners determine whether there is enough information present in the
print to be used for identification. This includes determining class and individual characteristics for
the unknown print. Class characteristics are the characteristics (crime Museum, 2016) that narrow the
print down to a group but not an individual. The three fingerprint class types are arches, loops, and
whorls. Arches are the least common type of fingerprint, occurring only about 5% of the time. Ridges
that enter on one side of the print go up, and exit on the opposite side characterize this pattern. Loops
are the most common, occurring 60 65% of the time. Ridges that enter on one side of the print loop
around, and then exit on the same side characterize this pattern. Whorls present a circular type of ridge

Why Accounting Is Basically A Language And Information...
Without accountancy businesses would find it hard to function Accounting Introduction Accounting is
basically a language: a language that provides knowledge and information about the financial position
of an organization. When we study accounting we are basically learning this expert language. By
learning this language we can analyse and understand the financial operations of any and all forms of
organizations. The accounting information be broken down into three core categories: Operating
Information Another term for operating information is day to day information . It is the type of
accounting information which is needed by the organization itself to conduct its business such as
paying the employees, tracking sales or payments from existing debtors and also information
regarding payments to creditors. The operating information is basically related to the working capital
of the business. Operating information comprises the supreme amount of accounting information and
also provides the foundation for the other two types of accounting information. Financial Accounting
Information This is the type of information that is used by stakeholders such as managers,
shareholders, creditors, banks, the public, the government, etc. to make choices involving the
organization and its activities. Shareholders would want information regarding their investment;
whether it is worth it and whether they should buy or sell shares, bankers and creditors would want to

Killing The Buddha Or Becoming One
Killing the Buddha or Becoming One: The long and winding road from early Buddhism to Zen
Zen (Ch. Chan) is a general term for a Mahayana school Buddhism, which emerged during Tang
dynasty China (618 907). Ever since it had crystallized as an independent school of thought, we
witness in Zen a tension between the need to belong to the Buddhist tradition and the urge to revolt
against it. On the one hand, Zen masters had considered themselves, and still do, as direct heirs and
followers of the historical Buddha, and on the other hand order their disciples to abandon the Buddhist
teaching. Thou, somewhat radical, Linji Yixuan (d. 866) famous saying: If you meet a Buddha kill him
(逢佛殺佛) is a typical example of this approach.

Wal Mart Organization As My Company Of Interest
Abstract
For this final research paper I chose Wal Mart organization as my company of interest. The research
conducted for this paper includes eight references supporting statements pertaining to the Wal Marts
compensation and benefits plans. In the paper I briefly discussed some financial and health benefits
offered by Wal Mart. During the discussion of the financial benefits we touched on the 401(k) plan,
the Employee Stock Option Plan, and the Military Differential pay. I pointed out how Wal Marts
Military Differential Pay is above most companies as they pay employee s full salary if they are called
to active duty as most companies only pay the difference of what the employee is making with the
military and would be making with the organization (Jathar, 2013). I also attempted to show how Wal
Marts health benefits compared to other companies by discussing their Health Insurance plan and their
Health Reimbursement Account. I pointed out how Wal Mart associates are paying on average $7000
more annually than other employees with similar Health Reimbursement Account. I think the only
way to fix this is for our government to take the same action as many of our sister countries and at a
minimum mandate a cap that employer s can have employee s pay in to these accounts. In all I feel
from the research and past personal experience that Wal Mart is a great organization to work for even
with the few needed improvements.

The Library Of The Sabarmati Ashram
While working in the archives of the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, I came across a fascinating
letter to MK Gandhi sent by 11 young women of Calcutta. The letter was undated, but it appeared to
have been written in January, 1939. It was addressed to Most revered Mahatmaji , and was signed
individually by the 11 women, all Hindus by their names. The letter was written in protest against an
essay written by Gandhi for his journal, Harijan. Gandhi s article, said these women, was not very
inspiring , since it seemed to put the whole slur upon the injured female who suffers most due to the
malevolent social custom .

Gratuitous attack
In between acknowledging the problem and offering solutions, Gandhi spoilt his case by launching an
unprovoked attack on the dress code of the modern woman. For all the evil that males did, he
remarked, I have a fear that the modern girl loves to be Juliet to half a dozen Romeos. She loves
adventure. My correspondent seems to represent the unusual type. The modern girl dresses not to
protect herself from wind, rain and sun but to attract attention. She improves upon nature by painting
herself and looking extraordinary. The non violent way is not for such girls.
It was to this gratuitous advice, this patriarchal preconception of how women must dress, that the
young women of Bengal responded. Some may find modern girls dresses and deportments a bit
different than they wish them to be, said these women to Gandhi, but to brand them as exhibitionistic
generally is a positive insult to her sex as a whole. Strength of character and chaste behaviour are
necessary not only for modern girls but for men as well. There may be a few girls playing Juliets to a
dozen Romeos. But such cases presuppose the existence of half a dozen Romeos, moving around the
streets in quest of a Juliet, thereby pointing out where the proper correction lies.
These 11 young women of Calcutta spiritedly defended the woman s right to

Analyzing Themes in William Shakespeare s Twelfth Night Essay
William Shakespeare, an English writer in the seventeenth century. He is considered to be the most
influential writer in English literature. He wrote various genres, but the common types he wrote were:
Tragedies, Comedies, and Histories. Among the many plays he wrote he wrote one his most famous
play, Twelfth Night , which he wrote during the middle of his career. Twelfth Night is considered to be
one of Shakespeare s greatest comedies that he has written. In addition to it is also the only play that
he wrote that has an alternate title which is called, Twelfth Night, or What You Will . By analyzing the
themes presented in the play: Actions of love, Gender, and madness, helps show what Shakespeare
conveyed about love. In the play, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each time he go tries to woo her it always brings him more pain. So to him it seems that love is an
awful savage that keeps attacking him. On the other hand Viola, who is disguised as a man and who
falls in love with Orsino, states that, My state is desperate for my master s love (Act II. Scene II. Line
37) in which she means that she is hopelessly in love and she will do anything to gain it. This results
into violence in a later scene with her and Orsino because he thinks that Cesario (Viola) is Olivia s
lover. Viola does bring pain to Olivia due to her deception because Olivia fell quickly in love with
Cesario when he comes to woo her for Orsino. As stated, the play does have a happy ending. Those
who were set out pursuing for love got it for the most part. Orsino and Viola ended up together, Olivia
and Sebastian (Viola s twin brother) ended up together (partly because she mistakes him for Cesario),
and Maria and Sir Toby ended up together. The same could not be said for Malvolio who was in love
with Olivia. He was tricked into thinking that Olivia returned the same affections, but in it was all a
trick. Malvolio had the mindset that Olivia loved him, but Olivia just thought he was going mad so she
sent him off to this dark cell where he remained until the end of the play. Malvolio s love for Olivia
hurt him more than it did more good. He had to suffer because of his actions which portrayed him as a
fool. Love

Jane Austen s Emma
Emma Woodhouse: Awake or Dreaming?
A dream. A world where ideas run wild and imagination is the primary mode of thought. Reality is a
faraway distance. Eventually, the dream comes to an end as reality creeps into sleep and the fantasy
finishes. The story of Jane Austen s Emma is one of a similar account. Emma Woodhouse, the main
character, has an active imagination that causes her to loose sight of reality like getting lost in
dreaming. Her imagination and disposition to think a little too well of herself causes Emma to be
emotionally arrogant and skews her perception of other characters (Austen, 1). Throughout the novel,
Emma struggles to develop emotionally because her dream derived visions of those around her and

She even goes so far as keeping Harriet from marrying Mr. Martin, who both truly loves her and is
closer to her in social status. While it is ultimately Harriet s choice to decline Mr. Martin, Emma uses
her popularity to influence the decision. [T]hough Emma continued to protest against any assistance
being wanted [from Harriet], it was in fact given in the formation of every sentence (34). Caught up in
her self appointed role as cupid, Emma ignores the possibility that Harriet and Mr. Martin could ever
live happily together. Upon hearing of Harriet s rejection to Mr. Martin, Knightley suspects Emma s
attempt to produce a match between Harriet and Mr. Elton. He warns Emma about the unlikelihood of
Mr. Elton reducing himself to Harriet s inferior position through marriage. While his warning causes
Emma to momentarily doubt herself, she quickly erases these thoughts with a satisfaction which
settled her with her own mind, and convinced her... she had done nothing which woman s friendship
and woman s feelings would not justify (43). Evidently, Emma is easily able to dismiss Mr. Knightley
s rational suggestions, satisfied with her own more amusing ideas. She remains confident in her own
imaginative schemes, letting that govern her conduct. As the novel progresses and Mr. Elton reveals
Emma as the true object of his affection, Emma s prediction and meddling proves to be a failure. In
reflecting on her behavior, Emma notes,

The Importance Of The Foster Care System
The foster care system has been around for generations, constantly adjusting the system to modernize
it. But there s been a loss of protection in the system through these last few years. The foster care
system needs to change because children are being placed in unsafe environments, funding is going in
unnecessary places, the adoption process has some discouraging qualifications, and education in the
system doesn t have a huge importance. Children in the foster care system are being put in unsafe
environments on a daily basis, such as abusive, drug using, or alcoholic foster parents. This has
become a pattern, a large number of adults who grew up in the foster care system, have experienced
one, if not more of these unsafe environments. An article by Brittany Hines Clark about her
experience in the foster care system, she says. I went to a long term placement when I was 7 years old.
I stayed there for about five years, but they weren t the most pleasant years. At first, I was the only girl
in the home, with three boys. By the time I was moved, five years later, there were six boys there, and
I was still the only girl. Only one of the boys was my biological brother. During my time in that home,
I was physically and sexually manipulated. So many things went on there, but only my outbursts were
reported to my social worker. I even was put in the home of a different member of that family so that
the foster parent would continue getting paid (Clark).

What Role Did Alexander Hamilton Play In The Election Of 1800
Alexander Hamilton played an extremely significant role in the presidential election of 1800. These

Despite Hamilton s opposing beliefs, his attempts to persuade everyone were highly successful, due to
the fact that his actions lead to the selection of his bitter, political enemy, Thomas Jefferson, as our
nation s third chief executive, despite the differences they had. Hamilton was able to persuade the
House of Representatives to vote for Jefferson over Burr by writing, From Alexander Hamilton to
Harrison Gray Otis. In this letter, Hamilton elaborates on how choosing Jefferson is the best option
because he is the less evil between the two of them. However; the outcome of the election affected not
only Hamilton s political career, but his personal life in numerous ways, as well. As far as his political
career goes, he lost an immense amount of support from the Federalists. This was due to his pamphlet,
Letter from Alexander Hamilton, Concerning the Public Conduct and Character of John Adams, Esq.,
which elaborated on why people should not vote for Adams as president. This was widely circulated
by Aaron Burr s, after he lost the presidency run. This was ultimately the most lethal aspect to
Hamilton s political career. Secondly, the Federalists wanted Burr to win the presidency, due to the
fact they thought Jefferson would ruin everything that had been accomplished within the past twelve
years, but Hamilton opposed this. Additionally, Burr attempted to run as governor in New York, and
the New York Federalists were going to vote him in. However; Hamilton advised everyone not to vote
for him, thus; causing Burr to lose, again. Despite Hamilton not being the only one to go against Burr,
Burr challenged Hamilton to a duel, which, ultimately lead to his death, which ended his personal life.

Economic Growth And Inequality Of Opportunity
IDPM60711: Economic Development Theoretical link between economic growth and inequality of
opportunity The case of the Arab Spring Word count: 1654 Introduction Global discourse around the
issue of growing inequality and specifically inequality of opportunity has come to the fore in recent
years driven by violent public action witnessed in the spring of 2011. A little southern town in Tunisia
known as Sidi Bouzoid in December 2010 took global centre stage in the push for economic
emancipation. Mohamed Bouazizi, a fruit vendor vented his frustration with the local corrupt
municipality by setting himself ablaze which inadvertently sparked a series of protests across the Arab
world. Enter the Arab Spring led by disenfranchised youth. Researchers in attempts to diagnose the
inspiration for the ensuing revolutions hypothesised stark inequality between economic and political
elites and the larger population, as the fuel behind the flame. Focusing on determinants of opportunity
that is, predetermined circumstances such as education, region of birth, gender or family wealth; do
affect an individual s capacity to engage in economic activity. Critically, in the presence of a state
indifferent to these pre existing variations in populace circumstances, the effect of these circumstances
greatly increases. This paper explores the link between economic growth and inequality of opportunity
and applies these links within the case of the Arab spring. It investigates how weak

Water is a natural resource that many of us take for granted. We all use as much water as we desire
because we do not have a limit as to how much water we can use on a daily basis. Most of us are
never concerned whether if we will have sufficient water for the very next day. The water we use to
consume, shower and even use for various things come from rivers, lakes, streams and oceans and it is
absolutely important in the way our world functions. Unfortunately, we have done very little to
maintain these water resources fresh clean and as a result, the rivers, lakes, streams and oceans have

Regulations of storm water management include acquiring a Storm Water Management permit.
Warrenville has guidelines when enforcing storm water and floodplain management. The main
purpose for Warrenville s storm water and floodplain ordinance is to protect the environment as much
as possible but while trying to protect the environment Warrenville should also be careful and try not
to destroy businesses and state budgets at the same time. When it comes to the storm water
management permit it requires a set of fees. The fees pertain to as follows, there is an application fee
and it all depends to the type of family development one may pertain to. The family categories are
single family development, attached single family development, attached multiple family development
then from there it also includes whether if it involves or impacts floodplain or wetland areas. Let s not
also forget that it also includes how much portion of an acre will be taken up. The application fee
ranges from six hundred dollars to five thousand dollars. Then there is an inspection fee which is
around five hundred dollars and if over 3 acres there is a 2.5% estimate of construction cost of storm
water management and erosion control improvements. Warrenville has some Best Management
Practices that help in managing excess storm water runoff water and prevent the breakdown of local
walk ways as well as to improve the water quality. These Best Management Practices include
Bioswales which is a vegetated drainage that helps slowing runoff as it comes. Naturalized Detention

Mexican Descent In America
The United States of America has long been known as an immigrant s country. It is a melting pot of all
different races, ethnicities, and nationalities. However, the time elapsed between the foundation of
America and now has led to the development of the American identity. American nationalism has
changed the scope and parameters of who is truly American, and who is welcomed in America. The
United States is no longer a country of immigrants, it is a country filled with citizens of diverse
heritage, but they all identify as an American. This poses a problem for those who still wish to
immigrate to America. It is still described as a place where there is a possibility of an American
Dream, and where anyone can become anything.
The 2016 American Community Survey (ACS) measured immigrants to make up 13.5 percent of the
US population, or approximately 43.3 million people nationally (Zong Batalova 2017). Americans
perceive the typical immigrant in America to be of Mexican descent, and there is truth to these
assumptions. Of the 43.3 million immigrants, those of Mexican descent make up 27 percent of the
total number of immigrants in America (Zong Batalova 2017). This makes them the highest number of

Henri Julien Felix Rousseau was born May 21, 1844 in a small town in northwestern France called
Laval. Rousseau grew up in a very tough, poor background with many struggles that which created
who he is. With his father being in great debt, he had to move out from his town. There he went to
school with below average grades, but still received prizes for his drawing and music skills. After his
father s death, Rousseau moved to Paris to help his widowed mother out. While in Paris, he found a
girl who he eventually married, but later ended up dying to tuberculosis. His wife s death is when he
began taking painting seriously, in which he later quit to paint only. Rousseau claims that he had no
teacher other than nature although did receive some tips from Felix Auguste Clement and Jean Lean
Gerome. With Rousseau self teaching himself, he obtained a unique technique in his art work.
The Eiffel Tower by Henri Rousseau was painted in 1898. The painting is a nice scene with a river in
the middle which has a light current. There are brown boats that are also in the water with fishermen
on the side of the wall fishing. To be exact, there are five people fishing, one on the left and four on
the right. On the sides of the river are green trees with piles of sand or rock next to them. On the right
side behind the trees are many houses that are in line with each other. The river also has a well lit
bridge that goes across the bypass. The bridge has red and yellow objects which are full

If Genetic transformation has the meaning of change caused by genes and involves the placing of a

inevitable as discussed in the article about the Three Cities of Toronto. The article analyses the social

Sweden who has a fairly equal society had low results for social problems. Wilkinson also made a
point to state that national income and economic growth had no correlation to life expectancy in the
developed world anymore. Wilkinson goes on to state that the bigger the income gaps within societies
lead to a deteriation of these social problems within societies. The difference when comparing
societies and looking within societies was income only made a difference when looking within
societies. This is a result of an idiographic approach where we look at the relative income within a
specific society to understand the social status patterns that s occurring. It links to the idea talked
about in class about scale and comparing information from the blockface data versus the census tract.
The blockface data has extreme detail (or spatial variation) and the census tract does not have as much
information (reduces variability). In this analogy, societies would be the blockface data and different
countries would be the census tract. Turning our attention specifically on Canada, we can examine
Figure A and see the inequality that has been rising to an unprecedented high of income inequality.
Although we are see that through taxation this inequality has been reduced, the problem still remains
significant as we can see the household inequality is drastically rising in all the major metropolitans in
Canada especially from 2000 2005. This is

The Vivacity of the English Language
The English language has always had vivacity. Before English was even a known language, its
linguistic precursors were set in a perpetual forward moving motion that led to the development of
English as we know it. The English language has never been static in geographical location,
vocabulary, grammar, and certainly not in the people who speak it (Crystal).
However, it is important to note that a lingua franca is necessary for people to communicate on a
global level. International relations are important and have been important throughout history. The
League of Nations was the first of many alliances to allocate a special place for English making it
lingua franca for its proceedings. Lingua franca is a shared language of communication used between
people whose main languages are different. In order for a language to become lingua franca, it must be
widely used by those who wield power (Crystal).
There are two main factors that make English a lingua franca. The two factors are its internal and
external qualities. The internal qualities of structure and lexicon are important items in any language.
English is much simpler in these structures than other languages. For example, Latin has accusative,
dative, genitive, feminine, masculine, or neuter, but English does not have these distinct features.
Moreover, English has a vast vocabulary making it more flexible and easier to pair with other
languages. The external qualities of the number of users, geographical diffusion,

Analysis Of Mary Maloney In Lamb To The Slaughter
Is it possible for a loving wife that is six months pregnant to love her husband with all her heart, but
then moments later is found to be the wife that murders her husband? Well, Mary Maloney, a caring,
loving women is the wife of detective Patrick, an alcoholic man that comes home from work only to
see his wife that he no longer loves. One day, when Patrick is not sober, he attempts to deliver some
upsetting news to Mary about a divorce. Sadly, she does not believe it and carries on with her life, but
after having to believe it, Mary takes revenge on Patrick by taking his life from him. Mary Maloney is

Firstly, by using her intelligence, she kills her husband without leaving a trace, showing that she is a

The Main Themes Of The Supernatural In Christopher Faustus
In this play we see the occult and supernatural throughout the whole play as this is one of the main
themes that is focused upon. The use of the supernatural and occult is very negative as Christopher
Marlowe uses them in various ways.
In the first scene Faustus has decided to study dark magic as it s the most benefiting subject to study.
Faustus s wants can be seen as selfish as he s attracted to the idea of having power, of honour, of
omnipotence which can be acquired through dark magic. The use of tripling gets across his wants and
makes them more memorable so that the audience can remember the reasons as to why faustus turned
to magic and thus prevent themselves from following his path. Faustus s character can be linked to the
Renaissance period which leads us to label him as a Renaissance man which is an idea that s talked
about by John Butcher the editor of Doctor Faustus by Longman literature. This idea is further implied
as Faustus wants to go beyond the knowledge he knows to become a God which he thinks he can
achieve by doing magic as he thinks that A sound magician is a demi god which leads us to believe
that being a mortal man is not enough for him. A modern reader could argue that a magician is
someone that uses tricks and illusions rather than real magic whilst someone from this time period
would interpret it a magician as a witch/ wizard as someone that is damned and is following lucifer
and doing bad deeds. The idea of faustus wanting to become

Introduction Of Natural Language Processing
INTRODUCTION TO NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING
What is NLP?
Natural Language Processing can be defined as the use and ability of systems to process sentences in a
natural language such as English, instead of using a specialized artificial computer language such as
C, C++ etc. The systems used for NLP are a digital computer which is similarly resemble to
mainframe and personal computers. The digital computer systems in this fifth generation possesses
artificial intelligence technique and thus able to process natural languages. Natural language is a more
restricted subset of a human language; it cannot be thought of an actual language that possesses
ambiguities which computers could not sort out. Hence it is fair that Human Languages grant
aberration that natural language cannot grant. In a larger view; Natural Language Processing includes
signal processing or speech recognition, context reference issues and semantic analysis and
processing. Typical applications for Natural Language Processing include the following:
a) A good human computer interface that can translate from a natural language into a computer
language and vice versa. A natural language system can act as an interface to a database system. This
technology is very useful for the blind people; that with the help of speech recognition interact with
computers.
b) A basic necessity is for a translation program that could convert from one human vocal language to
another. This saves down the time for translation.

Polar Express Psychology
Innocence, trust, truth, and calmness are all different feelings that one might have or encounter in their
life. Most of these feelings are felt as a child and as a parent more often. Blue is conservative and
calming in a positive aspect. But blue can also relate to sadness, lonely, cold, or depressing, in a more
negative way. You feel these things when you feel betrayed, lied to, or the loss of a loved one. Blue
can stimulate so many feelings depending on a situation. The Polar Express and the poem The Side of
Truth stimulate different feelings when read but they are intertwined in some aspects. Though written
in different centuries, The Polar Express and the poem The Side Of Truth use emotional imagery to
emphasize character transformation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The blue seen in the movie suggests the truth of hero boy s thoughts, and confusion. Archetypally,
blue is contemplated as reserved and quiet, and doesn t like to make a fuss or draw attention (Color
Psychology Web). The film embodies these exact feelings in hero boy. He is reserved and quite and
doesn t draw attention to himself on the train and tries to stay low during the trip. However, the most
significant reference to blue throughout the film is his blue robe, which represents the reserved person
he is because of his beliefs. The train is also exemplifies the truth that he can only decide for him self
what he truly wants to believe in.
Thomas begins with truth and ends the poem with love , there is the silly level of tension simply the
reason in the side of truth, that all will resolve into a unjudging truth which weakens the idea of truth
itself. Truth is not essentially not false . Just like in The Polar Express, it is not a film that convinces
young children to believe in the big man it paints a bigger a picture, to believe in what you think is
true and believe with all your heart and not let others convince you, you are

Foraging Behavior Observation Report
Dr. Janzen,
I was glad to receive such a hearty and informational response. I really appreciate you taking the time
to reply. I do have some research under my belt, I have been working with Dr. Jon Davenport at
Southeast Missouri State for about the last year just helping where I can. This spring I led an
experiment with spotted salamanders (A. maculatum) regarding foraging behavior in response to
predator kairomones. We hope to have the results figured out and go to a few herp conferences in the
early fall semester, and to have the paper out for review by the end of the year. I will be helping him
with more projects for the rest of my time at Southeast Missouri State. He is currently working on an

I plan on taking it towards the end of the summer and my GPA is better than some worse than others it
s at about a 3.45 I m actively trying to get it into that 3.5 range because I know that 3.5 or above is
where most people would like to see prospective students at.
As far as the assistantships and fellowships go what you have mentioned sounds like a great deal of
$2000 per month it is more than I expected to be honest. I for the most part understand how
assistantships work, but must admit I am unsure how fellowships do through Iowa State I haven t been
able to find real clear information on how the application and acceptance process works. I m a first
generation college student with no siblings so everything for me has been a kind of figure it out as you
go when it comes to how scholarship, financial aid, and things of that nature.
I would definitely like to stay in contact with you I am very interested in your work and the possibility
to work in your lab in the future. Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from
you soon!
Regards, Christopher

Edson And The Planetarium Research Paper
Today was our field trip to the haunted USS Edson and the planetarium. It started out fun until I sat on
a fruit chew on the bus and had to have that on me all day. Besides that event, Sydney took the fact
that we were all ready for ghost to pop out any moment, or Paul, and used it to her advantage. She
would hide in little escape cubbies in dark rooms then pop out once we had thought Paul took her. She
would also bang on metal, wood, beds, or anything she could get her hands on to scare the crap out of
us. Besides Sydney s scaring, the ship was actually pretty cool, but it was pretty creepy. The stories
were definitely the best and being able to see and hear what happened on and to that ship was great.
Once we finished, we loaded the bus and

Benefits Of Insurance And Self Insured Employers
When it comes to explaining fully insured versus self insured employers it is important that we have
an accurate understanding of the definitions of and differences between the two. According to benefits
communication expert Jennifer Benz of Benz Communications in
San Francisco
If an employer sponsored plan is fully insured, the insurance company is ultimately responsible for the
health care costs and the employer pays premiums. If an employer sponsored plan is self insured, the
employer is ultimately responsible for the health care costs, and pays for all of those costs plus
administration fees.
There are different risks involved with both types of plans. Typically, smaller companies with fewer
employees opt for fully insured plans and larger companies with 5000 or more employees opt to be
self insured. According to the Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI) in 2008, 88 percent of
workers in firms with 3 199 employees were in fully insured plans and 89 percent of workers
employed in firms with 5000 or more employees were in self insured plans. (MacDonald, 2009) The
EBRI Fast Facts paper goes on to say overall for that same year 45 percent of workers in the health
insurance market share were covered by fully insured plans versus 55 percent for self insured plans.

The Theme Of Fate In I Am Mordred
Fate in I Am Mordred
The idea that fate is inevitable manifests itself throughout the Arthurian legend I am Mordred. Fate s a
predestined fortune that is supposedly inevitable. (fate) The question of changing fate prevails as an
underlying theme in the book. Characters lives and choices revolve around the idea of their
predetermined destiny. It proves difficult to decide whether fate is escapable or not.
From the beginning of the book Mordred s fate plays a key factor in characters actions. The king s
advisor Merlin prophesied Mordred to kill his father, King Arthur, when he reaches the age of
seventeen. When the prologue starts King Arthur s sacrificing all the male babies in the kingdom who
were born on May Day, including Mordred. This will supposedly change the fate prophesized for them
according to his advisor Merlin. But Merlin had spoken: Let all male babies of the nobility born on
May Day be brought to the shore. That was the sort of thing that happened when the King did wrong
(Springer Vii). King Arthur thought by doing this he had managed to avoid his predestined doom. As
soon as chapter one starts, it reveals one baby out of the forty brought to sea managed to survive. That
one baby was King Arthur s son, Mordred. He was saved by a couple who lived by the sea. They raise
him as their own and he becomes a part of their fisher family. At this point Mordred has not managed
to escape his fate and King Arthur hasn t either.
Around the age of six Mordred meets

  • 4. Wireless Security And The Internet Introduction We live in a day and age where everything can be done through the internet, whether it s entertainment, such as playing game and watching movies, or more critical things such as managing confidential information such as bank accounts. This is why it is essential to secure your network. This is done for many reasons, since unauthorized users can steal data, alter it or even use your network to preform illegal activities, which you will be responsible since it s your network. Nowadays, most of us use a local wireless network to connect onto the internet. This has become the norm since more and more devices, such as smartphones and tablets, are being introduced into our lives. Protecting a wireless network can be more complicated that a wired network, since wired networks are an A to B connection through a cable. Wireless networks broadcast data to every device that happens to be listening. This makes wireless networks much more vulnerable Wireless Security Protocols A Brief History Different protocols for wireless security were used throughout the years. In 1997, Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) was introduced. It is a security algorithm that was part of the original 802.11 standard. It was suppose to provide data confidentiality comparable to that of wired networks. WEP has many well known security flaws, is difficult to configure, and is easily broken. However, in 2003, the Wi fi Protected Access (WPA) security protocol has replaced the WEP standard. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tesco operates in a global world and is now located in several countries, and this international business is still growing, but it remains dependent on the UK market. This excessive concentration on a single market exposes them to risks and would be negatively affected by any slowdown in the UK food market (as the crisis of mad cow in the 1990s) Finally, the economic crisis, which is still current, tends to reduce the purchasing power of consumers, who are much more reluctant and afraid to spend more than they can. New technologies have had a great impact. For instance, online shopping has become a major factor in Tesco s recent success. Technology is the basis for the development of many products in the Tesco range. These new technologies have provided consumers than the company itself. • 6. Joint Tactical Radio Systems Tactical Radio Systems: The Joint Tactical Radio Systems can be described as inexpensive radio systems that are software programmable and offer reliable, secure, data, multi channel voice, and video communications for mobile users in the military. The tactical radio systems provide an all inclusive, safe, and multi channel mobile communications network ability for ground vehicles. The deliver communications networking capabilities that enable the transfer of several megabits of data per second on moving ground vehicles at the tactical edge. Consequently, the systems places total power and control of the Global Information Grid into the warfighters and take the situational awareness of network beyond the center for tactical operations (Simonsen, 2011). Due to its huge impact, the tactical radio systems have been touted as the next generation radio for voice and data services that will be used by the United States military in their field operations after 2010. The reason for this consideration is the fact that the systems will work with most of the current military and civilian radios because they incorporate integrated encryption and networking software that facilitate the development of mobile ad hoc networks. These systems have been developed on the software communications architecture, which is a framework that provides information to designers on how software and hardware can function in harmony. • 7. A Summary Of John Locke And Jean-Jacques Rousseau The Enlightenment period questioned traditional methods of educating children and introduced revolutionary new ways of thinking to bring about improvements in education and to actual allow students to enjoy learning. Before the Enlightenment, children were treated like small adults with no thought given to the development of very young children and once they were old enough to receive education it consisted of forced memory work along with harsh discipline (Platz Arellano, 2011). The Enlightenment changed this way of thinking by questioning what we are like naturally like (human nature), vs how we are influence by society (Norris, 2017, slide 25). When Locke left London to live in France and Holland because of health issues, he wrote letters to Edward and Mary Clark telling them his thoughts on how they should educate their son. These letters were later published in 1632 as Some Thoughts Concerning Education (Murphy, 2006 ). Locke s Some Thoughts Concerning Education criticizes the teaching methods of that time and suggests improvements but it also covers a wide range of other topics like how children should be dress, what they should eat, the importance of regularly going to the bathroom, and the need for physical activity, all of which goes towards making a sound mind in a sound body (Locke, 1692, sec.1). Locke (1692) states the importance of education when he writes, that of all the men we meet with, nine parts of ten are what they are, good or evil, useful or not, by their education (sec. 1). Although Locke s treatise on education was written for boys of the gentlemen class (Shouse, 1931. p. 25), it was implied that he was writing for the education of all children, including girls. Locke s educational theory emphasized nurture over nature because as Henson (2003) states, he introduced the idea of tabula rasa or blank slate, proposing that at birth the mind is a blank slate the only way to fill it is through having experiences, feeling these experiences, and reflecting on them (p.7). Factor V Leiden is inactivated by the protein C and S nearly 10 times slower than the normal Factor V, resulting in increased clotting factor that is why it is commonly called APC Resistance. Factor V Leiden is the most common genetic cause of venous thrombosis, which leads to deadly pulmonary embolism when the part of the clot breaks away to the pulmonary artery. It is involved in 20 40% of cases and is present in 3% of the general population. The other major genetic causes of venous thrombosis (deficiencies of protein C and S) together account for only 5 10% of cases. Factor V Leiden increases the risk of venous thrombosis 3 8 times for heterozygous (one bad gene inherited) and substantially more, 30 140 times for homozygous (two bad gene inherited) individuals. 2% of the general population was found to be heterozygous. Risk is increased still further in situations such as pregnancy, oral contraceptive use, estrogen therapy, malignancy, diabetes mellitus, immobilization, surgery, trauma, high blood pressure, obesity, smoking or long time travel (commonly called economy class syndrome). Naturally, the farmers turned to the government to voice their concerns; however, the government refused to acknowledge the problem as a significant one, alienating the already vulnerable farmers (Mooney). Deeply rooted in the nature of humans is the desire to sustain oneself and turning to more powerful sources. In the absence of support, one s psyche experiences isolation. In the midst of pecuniary struggles faced by the farmers, many Sikhs were compelled to abandon their homes in rural Punjab in search of a prosperous life where one could feed his family and educate his children in places where such possibilities existed. Furthermore, most Sikhs were able to overcome adversity in the midst of transition and integrate into mainstream society, mostly comprised of an amalgamation of Hindus and already integrated Sikhs. • 16. Barbados Slave Code Of Dominos Essay The fear of rebellion is what gave the colonies the idea to pass a chain of laws that restricted many of the slave s rights. Each colony had a diverge set of ideas about the rights of the slaves. There were some similar aspects in the slave codes across the land where slavery was the most frequent. Slaves were legally considered property, which did not give them the option to own land. If there was no presence of a white person, slaves were not allowed to congregate. Any slave that lived off the plantation had to follow the special curfew or there would be severe consequences. In the chance that a slave was in court being accused of any criminal act towards a white person, the slave would have no chance to testify. Slaves were always absent in the jury. Slave codes had many destructive effects on the lives of African Americans. It was illegal to teach a slave how to read and write. Many white Christians tried to educate slaves on how to read the Bible; however, those same people did not approve of marriage between the slaves. This way it made it easier to sell a member of the family to another owner without causing strife between the owner and slaves. These laws set the foundation for a law called the Barbados Slave code of 1661. In the paper I briefly discussed some financial and health benefits offered by Wal Mart. During the discussion of the financial benefits we touched on the 401(k) plan, the Employee Stock Option Plan, and the Military Differential pay. I pointed out how Wal Marts Military Differential Pay is above most companies as they pay employee s full salary if they are called to active duty as most companies only pay the difference of what the employee is making with the military and would be making with the organization (Jathar, 2013). I also attempted to show how Wal Marts health benefits compared to other companies by discussing their Health Insurance plan and their Health Reimbursement Account. I pointed out how Wal Mart associates are paying on average $7000 more annually than other employees with similar Health Reimbursement Account. I think the only way to fix this is for our government to take the same action as many of our sister countries and at a minimum mandate a cap that employer s can have employee s pay in to these accounts. In all I feel from the research and past personal experience that Wal Mart is a great organization to work for even with the few needed improvements. KEYWORDS: employee compensation and benefits, ... Line 37) in which she means that she is hopelessly in love and she will do anything to gain it. This results into violence in a later scene with her and Orsino because he thinks that Cesario (Viola) is Olivia s lover. Viola does bring pain to Olivia due to her deception because Olivia fell quickly in love with Cesario when he comes to woo her for Orsino. As stated, the play does have a happy ending. Those who were set out pursuing for love got it for the most part. Orsino and Viola ended up together, Olivia and Sebastian (Viola s twin brother) ended up together (partly because she mistakes him for Cesario), and Maria and Sir Toby ended up together. The same could not be said for Malvolio who was in love with Olivia. He was tricked into thinking that Olivia returned the same affections, but in it was all a trick. Malvolio had the mindset that Olivia loved him, but Olivia just thought he was going mad so she sent him off to this dark cell where he remained until the end of the play. Malvolio s love for Olivia hurt him more than it did more good. He had to suffer because of his actions which portrayed him as a fool. Love ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eventually, the dream comes to an end as reality creeps into sleep and the fantasy finishes. The story of Jane Austen s Emma is one of a similar account. Emma Woodhouse, the main character, has an active imagination that causes her to loose sight of reality like getting lost in dreaming. Her imagination and disposition to think a little too well of herself causes Emma to be emotionally arrogant and skews her perception of other characters (Austen, 1). While it is ultimately Harriet s choice to decline Mr. Martin, Emma uses her popularity to influence the decision. [T]hough Emma continued to protest against any assistance being wanted [from Harriet], it was in fact given in the formation of every sentence (34). Caught up in her self appointed role as cupid, Emma ignores the possibility that Harriet and Mr. Martin could ever live happily together. Upon hearing of Harriet s rejection to Mr. Martin, Knightley suspects Emma s attempt to produce a match between Harriet and Mr. Elton. He warns Emma about the unlikelihood of Mr. Elton reducing himself to Harriet s inferior position through marriage. While his warning causes Emma to momentarily doubt herself, she quickly erases these thoughts with a satisfaction which settled her with her own mind, and convinced her... she had done nothing which woman s friendship and woman s feelings would not justify (43). Evidently, Emma is easily able to dismiss Mr. Knightley s rational suggestions, satisfied with her own more amusing ideas. She remains confident in her own imaginative schemes, letting that govern her conduct. As the novel progresses and Mr. Elton reveals Emma as the true object of his affection, Emma s prediction and meddling proves to be a failure. In reflecting on her behavior, Emma notes, ... • 25. The Importance Of The Foster Care System The foster care system has been around for generations, constantly adjusting the system to modernize it. But there s been a loss of protection in the system through these last few years. The foster care system needs to change because children are being placed in unsafe environments, funding is going in unnecessary places, the adoption process has some discouraging qualifications, and education in the system doesn t have a huge importance. Children in the foster care system are being put in unsafe environments on a daily basis, such as abusive, drug using, or alcoholic foster parents. This has become a pattern, a large number of adults who grew up in the foster care system, have experienced one, if not more of these unsafe environments. An article by Brittany Hines Clark about her experience in the foster care system, she says. I went to a long term placement when I was 7 years old. I stayed there for about five years, but they weren t the most pleasant years. At first, I was the only girl in the home, with three boys. By the time I was moved, five years later, there were six boys there, and I was still the only girl. Only one of the boys was my biological brother. During my time in that home, I was physically and sexually manipulated. So many things went on there, but only my outbursts were reported to my social worker. I even was put in the home of a different member of that family so that the foster parent would continue getting paid (Clark). Also in an article by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this letter, Hamilton elaborates on how choosing Jefferson is the best option because he is the less evil between the two of them. However; the outcome of the election affected not only Hamilton s political career, but his personal life in numerous ways, as well. As far as his political career goes, he lost an immense amount of support from the Federalists. This was due to his pamphlet, Letter from Alexander Hamilton, Concerning the Public Conduct and Character of John Adams, Esq., which elaborated on why people should not vote for Adams as president. This was widely circulated by Aaron Burr s, after he lost the presidency run. This was ultimately the most lethal aspect to Hamilton s political career. Secondly, the Federalists wanted Burr to win the presidency, due to the fact they thought Jefferson would ruin everything that had been accomplished within the past twelve years, but Hamilton opposed this. Additionally, Burr attempted to run as governor in New York, and the New York Federalists were going to vote him in. Economic Growth And Inequality Of Opportunity IDPM60711: Economic Development Theoretical link between economic growth and inequality of opportunity The case of the Arab Spring Word count: 1654 Introduction Global discourse around the issue of growing inequality and specifically inequality of opportunity has come to the fore in recent years driven by violent public action witnessed in the spring of 2011. A little southern town in Tunisia known as Sidi Bouzoid in December 2010 took global centre stage in the push for economic emancipation. Mohamed Bouazizi, a fruit vendor vented his frustration with the local corrupt municipality by setting himself ablaze which inadvertently sparked a series of protests across the Arab world. Researchers in attempts to diagnose the inspiration for the ensuing revolutions hypothesised stark inequality between economic and political elites and the larger population, as the fuel behind the flame. Focusing on determinants of opportunity that is, predetermined circumstances such as education, region of birth, gender or family wealth; do affect an individual s capacity to engage in economic activity. Critically, in the presence of a state indifferent to these pre existing variations in populace circumstances, the effect of these circumstances greatly increases. The difference when comparing societies and looking within societies was income only made a difference when looking within societies. This is a result of an idiographic approach where we look at the relative income within a specific society to understand the social status patterns that s occurring. It links to the idea talked about in class about scale and comparing information from the blockface data versus the census tract. The blockface data has extreme detail (or spatial variation) and the census tract does not have as much information (reduces variability). Before English was even a known language, its linguistic precursors were set in a perpetual forward moving motion that led to the development of English as we know it. The English language has never been static in geographical location, vocabulary, grammar, and certainly not in the people who speak it (Crystal). However, it is important to note that a lingua franca is necessary for people to communicate on a global level. International relations are important and have been important throughout history. The League of Nations was the first of many alliances to allocate a special place for English making it lingua franca for its proceedings. Lingua franca is a shared language of communication used between people whose main languages are different. In order for a language to become lingua franca, it must be widely used by those who wield power (Crystal). There are two main factors that make English a lingua franca. The two factors are its internal and external qualities. The internal qualities of structure and lexicon are important items in any language. English is much simpler in these structures than other languages. For example, Latin has accusative, dative, genitive, feminine, masculine, or neuter, but English does not have these distinct features. The use of the supernatural and occult is very negative as Christopher Marlowe uses them in various ways. In the first scene Faustus has decided to study dark magic as it s the most benefiting subject to study. Faustus s wants can be seen as selfish as he s attracted to the idea of having power, of honour, of omnipotence which can be acquired through dark magic. • 45. Foraging Behavior Observation Report Dr. Janzen, I was glad to receive such a hearty and informational response. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I do have some research under my belt, I have been working with Dr. Jon Davenport at Southeast Missouri State for about the last year just helping where I can. This spring I led an experiment with spotted salamanders (A. maculatum) regarding foraging behavior in response to predator kairomones. We hope to have the results figured out and go to a few herp conferences in the early fall semester, and to have the paper out for review by the end of the year. I will be helping him with more projects for the rest of my time at Southeast Missouri State. He is currently working on an analysis of Alligator Snapping Turtles in ... I plan on taking it towards the end of the summer and my GPA is better than some worse than others it s at about a 3.45 I m actively trying to get it into that 3.5 range because I know that 3.5 or above is where most people would like to see prospective students at. As far as the assistantships and fellowships go what you have mentioned sounds like a great deal of $2000 per month it is more than I expected to be honest. I for the most part understand how assistantships work, but must admit I am unsure how fellowships do through Iowa State I haven t been able to find real clear information on how the application and acceptance process works. I m a first generation college student with no siblings so everything for me has been a kind of figure it out as you go when it comes to how scholarship, financial aid, and things of that nature. I would definitely like to stay in contact with you I am very interested in your work and the possibility to work in your lab in the future. Thank you for your time and consideration and I hope to hear from you soon! Regards, Christopher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Edson And The Planetarium Research Paper Today was our field trip to the haunted USS Edson and the planetarium. It started out fun until I sat on a fruit chew on the bus and had to have that on me all day. Besides that event, Sydney took the fact that we were all ready for ghost to pop out any moment, or Paul, and used it to her advantage. She would hide in little escape cubbies in dark rooms then pop out once we had thought Paul took her. She would also bang on metal, wood, beds, or anything she could get her hands on to scare the crap out of us. Besides Sydney s scaring, the ship was actually pretty cool, but it was pretty creepy. The stories were definitely the best and being able to see and hear what happened on and to that ship was great. Once we finished, we loaded the bus and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Benefits Of Insurance And Self Insured Employers When it comes to explaining fully insured versus self insured employers it is important that we have an accurate understanding of the definitions of and differences between the two. According to benefits communication expert Jennifer Benz of Benz Communications in San Francisco If an employer sponsored plan is fully insured, the insurance company is ultimately responsible for the health care costs and the employer pays premiums. If an employer sponsored plan is self insured, the employer is ultimately responsible for the health care costs, and pays for all of those costs plus administration fees. There are different risks involved with both types of plans. Typically, smaller companies with fewer employees opt for fully insured plans and larger companies with 5000 or more employees opt to be self insured. According to the Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI) in 2008, 88 percent of workers in firms with 3 199 employees were in fully insured plans and 89 percent of workers employed in firms with 5000 or more employees were in self insured plans. (MacDonald, 2009) The EBRI Fast Facts paper goes on to say overall for that same year 45 percent of workers in the health insurance market share were covered by fully insured plans versus 55 percent for self insured plans. Historical data on the effect of employee wellness programs on productivity includes measuring absenteeism, workers compensation absences, short and long term disability outcomes, as well as ...
