Database Management Systems Or Dbms
Database Management Systems or DBMS are essential software s for databases that take in
information to be processed, organized, and analyzed. DBMS play a significant role in many
things we interact with on the daily like the internet. DBMS can be on a small scale for individual
use or on a larger scale for a company looking to keep track of all the data they collect.
Each database is custom designed for the company, or organization that will use it. Records are
kept in databases and each record is very unique in its own way having different fields for what it
pertains to. Each record has something that makes it unique that the other records don t have.
Text, number, dates, and amounts of money are all different computations for DBMS. All of this
information is separated into fields and this is how Big Data is sorted and accessible and
understandable. The data can be put in manually or sometimes it is computer assisted when it is
more efficient. For example: a program may catch on if you are doing monthly reports and create a
section for all 12 months after one is manually made.
The use of Database Management Systems can date back to 1966. The program was made by
IBM with the help of other companies for the Apollo Program. It was designed to keep track of
the bill of materials for space crafts and other things involving the trip to space. This database used
a hierarchical format which can be considered a tree like structure which is still used today. At the

Farm-Raised Salmon Research Paper
There are many risks associated with eating farm raised salmon versus wild caught salmon. One
risk that farm raised salmon faces is contaminants that can lead to cancer. Farm raised salmon are
placed in artificially made bodies of water such as ponds, lakes, and salt water and within these
bodies of water, contaminants such as PCBs can be present. Cancer causing chemicals can be
present in both the water, farm raised salmonswims in, and the food they eat. Another risk with
farm raised salmon is the use of antibiotics in order to keep the fishhealthy. This unknown amount
of antibiotics used on the fish can lead to a resistance to the antibiotic used to kill the bacteria s in
both human and the salmon. The humans that are consuming the fish that possess these antibiotics
are unintentionally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although there are not as many benefits to consuming farm raised salmon as there are to
consuming wild caught salmon, some benefits still do exist. For starters, farm raised salmon is
much cheaper than wild salmon. So for someone who is poor or trying to save money but still
wanting to consume the benefits that salmon contains, they have an option of purchasing a
cheaper alternative. The second benefit to consuming farm raised salmon is that it is more
available and easier to get than wild salmon. If you want to eat salmon for dinner and the
supermarket doesn t have wild salmon, an easier alternative is just to buy the farm raised
salmon. There are multiple benefits in consuming wild caught salmon. For starters wild caught
salmon contains less calories than farm raised salmon and wild salmon also has a lower
percentage of saturated fat, which is a type of fat you want to stay away from. Another benefit to
consuming wild caught salmon is that there are fewer contaminants considering the water they
swim in and the food they eat is part of a natural diet and food

Patrol Allocation Model
The five limitations of modern patrol allocation models are as follows:
1) Modern patrol allocations will only be accurate if the data that is input is accurate; if the data is
not accurate, then the allocation model results will also be inaccurate (Fritsch, Liederbach, Taylor
Caeti, 2009, pg. 41).
2) Police administrators cannot solely rely in modern patrol allocation models to determine the
amount of officers needed for patrol; instead modern patrol allocation models can only serve as an
extra tool that can help police administrators estimate patrol allocation when taking into
consideration other factors that patrol allocation models cannot take into consideration (Fritsch et
al., 2009, pg. 41).
3) There are many factors or variables

He is an introducing character for the monkey paw. His motives are rather unclear, as he is aware
of the monkey paws powers and evil abilities. Even wishes to destroy it, but relentlessly sells it to

How Management Information System Professionals Interact...
DISCIPLINE INVESTIGATION ASSIGNMENT
INTRODUCTION
The Discipline Investigation paper enables students to gain knowledge about the work they will be
doing when they enter their careers, particularly how they will be using the language. I am very
keen on writing this paper because it will help me to find out how Management Information System
professionals interact in a company on daily basis. My audiences for this paper are my
professor, classmates, and other faculty members on the LLD 100A portfolio group. A
discourse community is a group of people who share the same interest, career, or other
commonality. Since I am majoring in Business Administration and concentrating in
Management Information Systems (MIS), I am excited to join the MIS discourse community to
develop my career. MIS professionals provide information about a company s daily business
relating to transactions meanwhile also look over systems. Potential careers can be Business
Analyst, Database Administrator, or Systems Administrator. One of the most important jobs an
MIS major can do is Project Manager. A Project Manager s role in IT is to look at projects and
plans and organize this information for a potential client. I believe I can expand my career
opportunities by learning how to use MIS jargon in the appropriate way. My dream is to become
a Developer. In the last four years, I have gained communication experience by working as a Sales

When the Canal was built towns all along the route from Buffalo to Albany prospered from the
revenue and the attraction the Canal brought with it. Whether the Canal was being used for
business people, immigrants, settlers of the region, or tourists, the border towns all had some
appeal to these persons. After some time the state was continually asked to expand the Canal from
the original route to include connecting canal routes. However, the same towns along the route
from Buffalo to Albany had already been established along the lines of the original canal. These
towns would need to be relocated in order to obey these new requests. This presented a major
problem because the people in these towns had formed a life around the Canal and many of them
made their income based of the Canal. The inhabitants of the towns changed their mentality from
not wanting the Canal to invade on their lives, to it being an essential part of their lives they
depended upon. The Erie Canal provided an extremely fast source of transportation compared to
other ones of that time. A lot of the land that the Canal went through was uninhabited and therefore
people weren t able to move through these areas. Once the Canal was built it served as that pathway
through these areas. The Canal also was a much cheaper source of transportation that was used by
residents, tourists, emigrants, and workers during this time. Evangelical preachers used the artificial

THE ETHIOPIAN EUNUCH STORY OF CLASS, RACE,
GENDER, ETHNICITY, AND SEXUALITY
(ACTS 8:26 49)
ESSAY
Introduction
The story in Acts 8:26 40, which hold what could be a vital point of the first half of Acts of
Apostle, give an account of the baptism of an unusual character presented in Acts 8:27 as an
Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of the Candace, queen of the Ethiopian. The biblical character
exemplifies in concrete form as multiple dissimilarities of class, race, gender, and perhaps religion
and sexuality as well.
There is ambiguity in Ethiopian eunuch that defined a distinguished difference he was embodied.
This ambiguity can be different in regards to class, race, and gender, but what are his class,
gender, and race? In an illustration of Acts, F. Scott Spencer noted that a comprehensive
examination of the Ethiopian traveller s place in ancient society in relation to standard categories
of race, class, and gender uncovers a fascinating, multifaceted character which defies easy
classification . Cottrell R. Carson stated more expressively as In many respect, the Ethiopian
eunuch defies categorization. His lack of definition is extreme . How can we administer these
ambiguities in a biblical character? In order to handle this question, it is expedient to first observe
how we read the eunuch s identity in the circumstances of religion, class, race, gender, and sexuality.
The purpose of this essay is to examine how the story of the sojourning court official wires with

DCFC s most ambitious score is Number Two s, The New Year. This track begins on a high note
and never lets up. The sounds coming from each instrument are as bombastic as fireworks going
off. The epic ensembles that follow Gibbard s calling, so this is the New Year, seem to have
come from the skies of Mount Olympus. The drumming is loud, the bass is like a gong, and the
guitar contrasts as a wind current flowing in reverse. This song departs from the band s normal
flat surface vibes. The lyrics are cheap, but highlight a fun New Year s Eve moment while
describing the anxiety of New Year s resolutions. The New Year, is like a rock opera. Gibbard,
Walla, Harmer, and McGerr must have been listening to Queen before recording this song. This is
possibly one of the greatest openings to any indie rock album. Give DFCF a round of

The Death Of The United States
On February 26, at 7:11 pm it was a rainy night in Sanford, Florida when a neighborhood
watchman, 28 year old mixed Hispanic George Zimmerman, calls 911 to report a suspicious
person. This guy looks like he s up to no good, or he s on drugs or something. It s raining and he s
just walking around, looking about (Genius). That suspicious person was 17 year old African
AmericanTrayvon Martin returning home after stopping by a local convenience store to purchase,
the now infamous, Arizona Ice tea and Skittles. When the 911 dispatcher asked Zimmerman if he
was following Martin he replied yeah. The dispatcher in return said, Okay, we don t need you to do
that (Chicago Tribune). That call would last four minutes.
Soon afterwards, the police received more calls from the neighborhood reporting, at first, two men
in a physical altercation but eventually a gunshot. When officers arrived at the scene they
encountered George Zimmerman who was bleeding from mild head injuries and the lifeless body
of Trayvon Martin, having been shot by Zimmerman. Zimmerman acknowledges that he shot
Martin, claiming it was in self defense (CNN). Sanford police took Zimmerman into custody,
questioned him for hours and eventually released him. According to Sanford police, Zimmerman
alleged that he killed Martin in self defense so he was neither arrested or given any sort drug
/alcohol test (MTV).
When George Zimmerman was found not guilty by a jury of his peers, many were outraged by the
verdict.

April Morning By Howard Fast Analysis
A redcoat soldier raised his musket, leveled it at Father, and fired (Fast 100). April Morning is
written by Howard Fast and takes place on April 17th, 1775 at the start of the revolutionary war in
Lexington, Massachusetts. Moses Cooper is a major character and also the antagonist to Adam
because he and Adam are always fighting and Moses doesn t let Adam grow up. Although Moses
was hard to understand, he was an affectionate, opinionated and respected man. Moses and affection
do not go hand and hand and its only sometimes when he says he loves Adam. Hate him! My
father exploded. Of all the crazy notions! Of all the idiotic ideas! There a boy, my first born son
why how could any man love a son any more than I love that boy? Now where could he have
gotten an idea as unreasonable as that (Fast 45)? Moses is now realizing how Adam feels about
him and although Moses does not say he loves him outright, Adam hears him and has a new
perspective of his dad. Moses realizes that his words have a bigger impact on Adam than he thinks.

Adam Cooper describes him as very argumentative. He had strong feelings towards people who
held slaves and thought they were some of the worst people. My father, on the other hand, held
that slavers were the lowest form of life existents on earth, the devil in the flesh, the Haman of
our time (Fast 33). Moses uses many descriptive words show how he feels and he has opinions
just as strong about how to handle the British. We have a position and principles... and if they do
come and see that we stand firm with some show of force, why, then they ll respect us (Fast 74).
The last thing Moses wanted to do was to fight the British, he didn t believe in fighting and thought
the town could just talk the British out of war. Using his strong opinions, Moses became a very

times of conflict. Tan accentuates the shocking actions that a mother must take in order to protect

Essay about Rxn of Iodoethane with Sodium Saccharin
Title: Reaction of Iodoethane with Sodium Saccharin Ambient Nucleophile
Dates Performed: February 21 + 28, 2013
Date Submitted: March 14, 2013
Abstract:
The product ratio of N ethylsaccharin to O ethylsaccharin that occurred due to alkylation with
iodoethane at 80 oC was determined to be 81.5% to 18.5%, respectively, based on an analysis of
the 1H NMR spectrum that was collected. The melting point range of 87.8 94.7 oC also indicated
that the mixture was largely composed of N ethylsaccharin. The more prevalent product structure is:

N saccharin is more stable than O saccharin, so it should be the major product of the reaction, if not
the only product, if the reaction reaches thermal equilibrium. A reaction involving the oxygen as the
nucleophile should occur faster than one involving nitrogen because the oxygen is more
electronegative. This electronegativity would attract the attack of the nucleophile more so than the
Nitrogen atom would. Based on the 1H NMR spectrum that was collected, a few things can be
determined. Based on deshielding and electronegativity, the peak that occurs around 4.7ppm is
associated with the O ethylsaccharin product and the peak at 3.8 ppm is associated with the N
ethylsaccharin product. Based on the height ration, the N ethylsaccharin product is the more
prevalent result. The solvent that was chosen for the experiment is a polar aprotic solvent that can
be used to stabilize charge. This stabilization can also be used to stabilize an ionic transition state.
This stabilization of the transition state along with the nature of the products based on the chemical
properties would encourage the reaction to proceed toward the N ethylsaccharin product. This
product is more stable

Sonja has already attached the guaranteed purchase option to her ordinary life insurance so;
therefore she doesn t have to worry about not being insured. She also can obtain additional life

E.Sonja is seriously injured in an auto accident. After six months, she is still unable to return to

One of the largest social controversies of the current time are the parental pressures attached to
whether or not a child should attend daycare. While many parents struggle with this decision,
others do not have the luxury of choice; many questions are raised asking if it is beneficial or
harmful for infants and young children to attend daycare, spending the majority of their waking
hours with caregivers other than their parents. There are of course many opinions and studies
regarding this issue. As with any controversial topic there is no right or wrong answers for the

22).
Perhaps the easiest and most straightforward aspect to asses regarding the effects of the different
types of care is the physical development of infants and children. These are objective findings
which can easily and definitely be measured. Children raised in a home care setting are
obviously less likely to catch illness such as colds and flu, chicken pox and other communicable
diseases. They do not share toy toys and objects with those children who may be infected with an
illness and they are not in close contact and quarters with those who are infected. Parents who have
more education and have more social concerns are also likely to be diligent about the cleanliness of
the environment and are more concerned with hand washing and cleanliness. These parents and
caregivers exhibit more responsibility with leaving their children home when an illness is
suspected, so as to not infect other people and children.
Children who are reared in the home environment may experience delays in physical motor skills,
as well as physical growth. This could be due in part to less physical interaction and mirroring of
other children. The environment remaining familiar and the attentive caregiver, home caregivers
often jump to the needs of their children. Although well meaning, this does not allow for the child
to physically explore their surrounds as much as if they had to do it on their own. Children reared
in daycare from any age

have in life. The director Lasse Hallstrom uses various film techniquesto connect us with Gilbert
throughout the film. Gilbert is overwhelmed with is responsibilities because of the unconditional
love that he provided for his family. Gilbert having to take care of his family like a father, he
launches his mind to only concentrate on his family and to look after them even though he has
never felt joy for himself. The only time when he truly felt uplifted is when Becky arrives in town
and heals him with her bright personality. This is shown by the close upshot of Gilbert lying on the
field with Becky showing his bare face, this scene shows his emotions and thoughts on his life.
The close up shot of Gilbert s face shows us that he truly felt at ease when he is absent from his
responsibilities. Imagery have been used to

Film Making Personal Statement
Film making runs within my family, which is how I was able to find my passion for it. It all
began with my father, who spent his whole career in both the television and the film industry.
Before I was born, my father had been a weatherman for news stations all over the country. As a
kid, I remember watching him on the television. I always looked up to my dad and admired his
profession, which later on inspired me to follow in his footsteps. When my dad moved to San
Antonio, Texas, he opened up his own production company. He was the jack of all trades. He
would make commercials, television shows, and even direct and produce small scale films. Being
exposed to this environment gave me a lot of opportunities in the field of filmproduction, thus

My love for film was evident since I was a kid. My brother, my sister, and I would always make
home movies together and put them in the VCR to watch. In the fifth grade, I was assigned a
book report project. The assignment instructions gave you the choice of writing a summary on
the book or making a short video about it. Out of all the fifth graders at my elementary school, I
was the only one to make a video. Even though it was a very silly and lighthearted production,
my teacher still loved it. I recall the class watching it three times. That project truly showed me
early on in my life that I had the potential to pursue film production. When I was thirteen, my dad
started to film a television show with one of his partners from work. I was one of his production
assistants, which I was absolutely ecstatic about. I was exposed to how a television show was
filmed from the beginning processes of production to the end, when it was ready to be

The Conflict Between Jewish And Arab State
Although Palestine declared independence as an Arab state, it still face obstacles in achieving its
sovereignty. Former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat planned to officially announce the statehood
of Palestine in 1996 (Quigley). This action received a strong response from Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu said recognition of Palestinian statehood would nullify the Israeli
Palestinian agreement. From this notion, Netanyahu threatened to invade Palestinian territories like
the West Bank of Jordan River. The settlements have been a prominent feature in hindering peaceful
treaties. Israelclaims that it should have territorial rights to its settlements while Palestines cannot
negotiate on land that Israel continues to occupy. The tensions between the Jewish and Arab state
continued to grow as Israel expanded Jewish settlements in the West Bank. According to the United
Nations, these settlements are illegal under international law. This violates the Fourth Geneva
Convention which prohibits states to occupy land in a war zone (League). Both sides of the
government have been unable to communicate effectively to determine an agreement to resolve the
territorial dispute. This conflict has expanded over three decades, resulting in hundreds of
thousands of deaths and the suffering of many innocent Jewish and Arab civilians. The support of
Palestine statehood provides a solution that could bring long term peace to the area. Recognition of

North American Craton Research Papers
North American Craton The North American Craton, or the core of the North American continent,
makes up much of the interior of present day Canada and the United States. This area is home to
the earliest tectonic activity responsible for the creation of North America, dating back billions of
years ago. In the beginning, volcanic island chains, found near ancient oceanic plate subduction
zones, slowly formed and thickened into new continental crusts. Eventually these continents, due to
their size, became more buoyant than their surrounding ocean basins; thus, allowing them to begin
gradually growing outward over time with the addition of new material via subduction,
sedimentation, and continental collision. The center of the North American... Show more content on

The oldest sedimentary rocks found here were originally deposited when North America was still
located near the equator, beginning around ~350 million years ago. During this time, periods of
shallow sea flooding left various sands and muds across much of the craton, which eventually
formed into sandstone, limestone, and shale. The landscapes of the national parks on the platform
were later shaped by the interaction of these sedimentary layers with the environmental conditions
in which they became located. Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, for example, is the result of
groundwater slowly dissolving the ancient subsurface limestone, creating the largest cave system on
earth with over 346 miles of known passageways today. Similar formations can be seen in places
like the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Regions of this type are generally characterized as
karst topographies. There are also younger areas of the platform where erosion can be seen but,
more predominantly at the surface level, like Badlands National Park in South Dakota, for
example. The gradual uplift of the Rocky Mountains to the West led to the formation of several
sedimentary layers in this region, beginning around ~100 million years ago. Over time river and
wind processes have left the distinctive strata of silt and shale

The Cuban Missile Crisis
Explanation: Like what it is said. North Korea can and will be a threat, and we need to keep a
close watch on them before it is too late. Everybody needs to be ready. Kim Jong Un looks like an
innocent man but behind closed doors, that is where he is most dangerous. He can be planning and
preparing an attack that nobody even know.
Topic Sentence: The Cuban missile was a crazy time. It happened some fifty years ago when John
F. Kennedy was president. It was when one of U.S. spy plane caught Soviet Union trying to sneak
some nuclear missiles into Cuba that was ninety miles off the United States coast. Soon enough
president Kennedy had to talk to one of their leaders about what are they doing with the missiles

Topic Sentence: the other reason to why not all nations have access to nuclear weapons, is
because there are some countries that we know a little or not at all about what they are doing
with the nuclear weapons. Like in Iran, we do not know if they are making more nuclear weapons
or using it for medical purposes. Iran sixth president Mahmound Ahmadinejad, said that his country
has been a member of International Atomic Energy Agency for over thirty three years now.
Ahmadinejad said that the by law all agency guarantees him to use nuclear energy for peaceful
purposes only, but everybody knows that nuclear energy can be used the wrong way also. For what
it seems, there are possibilities that there are ways to make nuclear energy into bombs or just
weapons of mass destruction.
Evidence: This is why we should worry about Iran s missiles. Just last fall Washington and
European capital been involved in a long time bout with Iran nuclear diplomacy. In Washington,
they hope that there hopes will run high and the effort will help the threat posed by Tehran s
atomic ambitions. The diplomatic deal is not only to limit Iran s capability to build nuclear

Monster s Ball By Marc Forster
Directed by Marc Forster, the 2001 film, Monster s Ball is an Academy Award winning film
which has been extensively criticized by American Studies scholars. They critique the aspects
of the social construction of masculinity, race, and the way in which women are constructed as
needing men in their lives. Essentially, the film s narrative uses hypermasculinity in a way that
supports the sexulization of women. Monster s Ball follows the life of two individuals who are
connected in a unique way. Leticia Musgrove, a black woman whose husband was killed on
death row along with Hank Grotowski, the officer who executed Leticia s husband are the main
characters of the film. Leticia works the night shift at a diner and she lives an unfortunate life.
Her house is foreclosed upon, her car is broken and she is a single mother. Hank is racist man
who was raised by his racist father. Hank has a son, Sonny, who he tries to infringe racist view
upon. Sonny is not racist and he kills himself at the beginning of the movie because he knows
his father hates him. Leticia serves Hank at the diner very often. On a rainy night, Leticia s son
got hit by a car while they are walking back home. By chance, Hank is there to save the day and
bring Leticia s son and her to the hospital, where he dies. One day at the diner, Hank tells Leticia

Be Responsible and Take Action in Shakespeare, Aeschylus...
Shakespeare along with Aeschylus and T. S. Eliot use character from each of their respectable
work including Hamlet, Agamemnon and The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock to demonstrate one
must responsibly be able to decide and take action in desperate times in order to prevent tragedy or
greater loss. Through the text of these three prominent literacy works from the ancient history to the
1900 s, one element that is evident in all three literature works is hamartia, which is directly related
to the protagonist making a tragic error that eventually leads to the final cataclysm. To get a
deeper insight of how hamartia plays a big role in these works, the audience has to get a better
understanding of the main character/protagonist of each play and get familiar with their personality
traits along with how they act in desperate times in order to prevent tragedy, or be the cause of it.
Prince Hamletin Hamlet , Agamemnon from Aescylus work along with Prufrock from The Love
Song of J. Alfred Prufrock are seen as victims of their personality flaws through the text presented
as eventually the outcome is seen as a tragic end for these characters due to their fatal errors.
Point1: One must be able to balance between reason and passion as reason falls towards rational
thinking while passion leads towards making irrational decisions. Hamlet in Shakespeare s play is
known as a tragic hero due the fact that he was bound for greatness but his fall came as a result of

American Farms Great Again Is The Motto For Burlington...
Research Paper
Make American farms great again is the motto for Burlington Robotics. Autonomous means:
controlled by a computer without a need for human intervention. United States farmers compete
globally for market share and Burlington Robotics wants to provide the machines needed to reach
the greatest potential. The next revolution in farming will be autonomous farming. Bet the Farm,
Best Robotics game for 2016 is a great example of the changes that are occurring in agriculture.
Farmers concerns with the autonomous tractor revolution include: safety, command and control,
laborers, efficiency and cost.
Safety
Autonomous farming could reduce farm accidents. According to the United States Department of
Labor approximately 300 fatalities occur each year due to vehicular incidents on the farm.
Autonomous farm machinery could decrease these numbers. Make an automated farm a safer place
with Vantage (copyright) obstacle detection and avoidance. Equip robotic farm vehicles with the
ability to see and safely react to unexpected hazards.
The first step in environmental awareness, this specialized LiDAR sensor produces a 3D area
readout that identifies potential obstacles and integrates seamlessly with Vantage.

The Huns Dbq
The Huns, a nomadic people group, were first known to exist in the central Asian steppes. They

of the start of the downfall of Rome. From a small group of barbaric warriors to one of the most
powerful kingdoms in the 5th century, the Hunsdevastated everything they attacked. But the
question remains, how did they do it? The Huns were so successful in conquering Europe and Asia
because of their great leader, unique fighting style, and the fear they struck into the hearts of their
enemies.

that to their advantage. The Huns were raised to be great warriors and hunters. They would

capabilities let the Huns use mobility as one of their main assets in battle. Even though some
Huns used other weapons such as swords, whips, and spears, the Huns preferred weapon was the
bow and arrow. Few Huns wore armor because armor was something a higher ranked official

Although a seemingly odd combination, I am double majoring in Chemistry and French at IUPUI.
This is a complimentary pair for me in terms of my future endeavors, however. I aspire to attend
medical school, ultimately to become a pediatric endocrinologist at Riley Hospital for Children.
While some choose medicinefor the paycheck, prestige, or to simply carry on the family business,
I wish to become a doctor for an entirely different reason. When I was eight years old, I was
diagnosed with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), a genetic disorder that affects the body s
general health, growth, and development. Devoting my career to becoming a pediatric
endocrinologist is a welcomed opportunity for me to serve as a source of care and comfort for
my patients and their families, as I was once in their shoes. My current plan of study at IUPUI is
an excellent plan of preparation for this lofty endeavor. While majoring in Chemistry will provide
the hard, scientific background required for medicine, majoring in French is the catalyst in giving
me the edge to becoming a caring, compassionate future physician. I shadowed Dr. Scott Renshaw

Factors that Affected the Outcome of World War Two Essay
Factors that Affected the Outcome of World War Two
There were many factors that affected the outcome of World War Two. Some of these were how
many tanks you had, how powerful your tanks were, and how well they were built. The Allies had
the most tanks in the war and this was one of the main things that helped them win. The Germans
had the most powerful tanks in the war, but the allies out numbered them. The Allies using light and
medium tanks in big groups against the Germans powerful tanks was the main thing that helped
them win World War Two.
During World War Two there were many different types of tanks. They were put into categories

hardly enough gun power and usually not enough protection. The Soviet designers put firepower
first, and made protection and mobility equal in second. Their tanks always had good guns, enough
protection, and they were fast, but they were not as reliable as the designers wanted. The British
designers put protection first, mobility second, and firepower third. This led to some failures. By
putting firepower last the guns on the British tanks weren t powerful enough to harm German tanks.
The Germans had the most powerful tank force out of all the countries fighting in World War Two.
Their tank force was composed in 1939 and had 3,195 vehicles in all. During World War Two the
Germans used the Blitzkrieg or lightning strategy, which was very effective. They also put all
their tanks into panzer divisions. These panzer divisions were a big success during the first two
years of the war. Other countries came up with formations similar to the panzer divisions. This led
to a drastic increase in tank production for the Germans. Starting in 1942 they rearmed all of their
tanks.
They made them bigger, heavier, have more armor, and they added bigger guns. The main tanks
that they upgraded were the Pz. IV and the Tiger Tank. They also introduced the Panther medium

in carbon dioxide removal tactics that target the disease of too much carbon in the atmosphere

Synthesis Of Dulcin Synthesis
Introduction
There is a demand for artificial sweeteners because people want to control their intake of sugar.
Saccharin, cyclamates, aspartame, as well as Dulcin, are some sugars that fulfill the need for
sweeteners to be of low caloric content. Some of the sweeteners, such as Dulcin, are now
considered to yield undesirable health effects with long term use. Dulcin is 250 times sweeter than
table sugar. The synthesis of Dulcin was done in order to calculate the percent yield. The lesson of
this experiment was to learn how to synthesize Dulcin from phenetidine and potassium cyanate
(KOCN). During the experiment, Dulcin was synthezided in the presence of water and acetic acid,
which were the solvents. Hydrocyanic acid (HOCN) was formed from the acetic acid and KOCN
(Scheme 1 equation 1). Then the HOCN will react with phenetidine to make Dulcin (Scheme 1
equation 2).
Scheme 1: Steps in Dulcin Synthesis. The apparatus used was the vacuum filtration, which is faster
than the gravity filtration and can only be used with a BГјchner funnel. When using the BГјchner
funnel, a filter paper needs to be inside of the funnel, as well as, a rubber stopper placed on the
funnel to guarantee a good seal. After the experiment was completed, a pure sample of Dulcin
was obtained because the exact melting point was determined to be 171.5 172.1В°C while the
literature value was 173 174В°C which is a narrow range. The Rf values also support the reasoning
that Dulcin is pure because the Rf value for

Psychoosexual And Psychosocial Theory Of Development
PSYCHOSEXUAL AND PSYCHOSOCIAL THEORY OF
DEVELOPMENT
Human development is a lifelong process, which describes the growth of human throughout the life.
There are many developmental theories which provide a set of guiding principles and concepts of
human growth and development including physical, behavioral, cognitive and emotional growth
and change. Out of those theories
Psychosexual and Psychosocial theories are the two main theories of Psychoanalytic .
Here I am going to focus on these two theories of development and highlight what these two
theories have in common and how they differ.
The theory of psychosexual development is one of the well known and controversial theories of
personal development, proposed by the famous Austrian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to both the theorists t he child s personality depends on the success of going through all
these stages, because the childhood trauma can change the development of personality. In addition,
it is important for individuals to overcome these different stages of developme nt in a positively
balanced way in order to develop their minds and beliefs.
However, there are several differences as well within these two theories of psychosexual and
psychosocial development. Even though both theorists believe that personality develops in a series
of stages, there are differences that exist between the names of the stages and the developmental
issues that are faced during each stage.
The main difference is that unlike Freud s theory of psychosexual stages, Erikson s theory
describes the impact of social experience across the whole lifespan. Freud s psychosexual theory
emphasizes the importance of basic needs and biological forces, while Erikson s psychosocial
theory is based upon social and environmental factors.
Furthermore, Freud s conflict centers on sex, while Erikson s theory takes psychosocial approach,
which means that people are shaped by society and need to be part of that

Becoming an Individual in Rewriting the Soul by Ian...
In a planet consisting of over six billion humans, finding individuality in oneself becomes an
arduous task. There exists in man the desire to be recognized by others as an individual with
specifically positive qualities. Therefore, based on the labels assigned to him, he creates his
desired persona. This concept is exemplified in Rewriting the Soul by Ian Hacking through his
theory of the looping effect, which portrays a cycle of mutual changes based on the influence of
classifications and those classified. Humans are given labels and thus act appropriately to either
maintain the favorable labels or diminish those which appear negative. This creates a fabrication
based on the influence of others rather than a true self. The mimicry of... Show more content on

As Hacking dives into the history of multiple personality disorder he brings up a certain concept to
justify the transition from the 19th century version of the disorder to modern day s picture. This
concept he names the looping effect of human kinds (21), which is explained with the MPD
example being that the doctors vision was different because the patients were different; but the
patients were different because the doctors expectations were different (21). The doctors influence
the patients only to be later influenced in return by the patients thus there will never be a concrete
definition of MPD nor will there be a fixed prototype of the disorder as both are being constantly
mutually altered. Consequently, a diagnosed MPD possessor will never truly know whether or not
they have the disorder since MPD has no locked definition. In like manner, the looping effect
affects all persons as their identities are continually being modified from external influences
whether they chose to be or not. In the case of consciously changing themselves, people are
specifically labeled and are assigned certain qualities of which they either view as pleasant or
insulting. As a result, these people choose to modify themselves in the attempt of creating a new
self that embodies the favored qualities and eliminates the unattractive qualities. This new self is
nothing more than a mimic of surrounding influences, which present

Parker s Back by Flannery O Connor
To the uninitiated, the significance of Flannery O Connor s Parker s Back can seem at once
cold and dispassionate, as well as almost absurdly stark and violent. Her short stories routinely
end in horrendous, freak fatalities or, at the very least, a character s emotional devastation.
Flannery O Connor is a Christian writer, and her work is message oriented, yet she is far too
brilliant a stylist to tip her hand; like all good writers, crass didacticism is abhorrent to her. Unlike
some more cryptic writers, O Connor was happy to discuss the conceptual and philosophical
underpinnings of her stories, and this candor is a godsend for the researcher that seeks to know
what makes the writer tick.
Flannery O Connor put much conscious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For me, the most chilling aspect of the story is the description of a prophetic water stain above
Asbury s bed:
Thematic Elements
This concept of displacement runs throughout O Connor s work, and it is essentially a
displacement from the world of the one true God, a theological displacement, although within the
context of the story it is more social, based on the nature of the freak s position in the society. Very
often, the grotesque elements of O Connor s stories are balanced out by anagogical ones. Again,
the latter are not specifically symbols, for symbols work contextually to represent interactive story
elements, whereas O Connor s anagogical elements are just there, they wander in and out of the
action; they may have symbolic significance, but it never comes directly into play as a plot
element. Facing death is another thematic element that recurs often in O Connor, for obvious
reasons, both personal and religious. 23 O Connor admits as much herself, in an essay in which
she discusses A Good Man is Hard to Find: The heroine of the story, the Grandmother, is in the
most significant position life offers the Christian.
She is facing death. 24 This last quote speaks volumes; it is probably the single most significant and
telling remark the student of Flannery O Connor can have in his attempt to understand her work.
Clearly facing death as a Christian was the motivational engine that

My Story Of The School Year Of 2010-2011
My story begins in the school year of 2010 2011. I was a fifth grader, eleven years of age, at
Santa Fe 5/6 Center. As per requirements we had to take a music class, and I knew that I could
not sing, so an instrument it was. Most of that year I spent experimenting with wind and string
instruments to find out if I belonged in band or orchestra. I was never really interested in any of
the wind instrument so I atleast knew I was going to be in orchestra. The year ended with me being
skeptical to if I should play an instrument or not.
With the next school year approaching fast I had to make my decision. A few days before sixth
grade started, Santa Fe hosted a little music assembly for the students and their parents to come and
enjoy music and also to provide instruments for the students to try out and possibly buy. I remember
walking around a tad bit nervous looking for an instrument and that s when I heard someone start
playing the cello. I turned to look and saw a man, Mr. Stanley, who later I found out was my cello
teacher, playing the cello. He played so beautifully it inspired me. The warm, rich tone of the cello
filled the room and I remember almost everyone stopped what they were doing just to listen to him
play. I think mother saw the glint in my eyes when I first listened to the cello and she knew that
was my choice. After Mr. Stanley s little performance was done, I approached him and bombarded
him with questions. In the end Mother ended up buying a three fourths

Making A Hat With A Pom Pom
Making a loom hat with a pom pom takes a lot of time to make your first time, but after a while
of making hats with pom poms, you will be able to make them faster than your first time. The first
thing to do before making a hat with the pom pom, is to gather all material needed to make a hat.
The materials you will need are: a circular loom that matches the head size you wantto make the hat,
a knittingloom tool, a tapestry needle, scissors, yarn with the color of your choice, and a flexible
curve ruler or a regular ruler. These will be all the material you will need to make a loom hat for
your first time. Once you ve learned how to make a basic loom hat, you can start using more
materials or not as many materials when making a loom hat.... Show more content on

The fourth step is where we finally start making the brim of the hat. The brim will take some time
to make, but afterwards, everything will be easier to make the hat. You will need to wrap the string
that is attached to the yarn and knot the first hook you want near the hook of where the knot is on.
You will wrap it around in a circle and continue to do this for each hook next to the previous
hook you just wrapped the string around until you reach back to the beginning of where you
started. You will then push down all the wraps down each hook so you can have room to start
another row of where you wrap the string around each hook again. Make sure to not let go of the
string so that none of your work done is undone. Once you have another row done, you must use
your knitting tool to grab the first or last wrap you did on the bottom row and pull it over the
hook, but make sure the top row does not come off. I usually grab the bottom wrap on the last
and pull it over and continue from there so I don t have to worry about anything coming undone
and I don t have to hold on to the string wrapped around the hook. You then must continue to make
a new row each time till you get 4 rows of the brim. Make sure to not push down the fourth row
you did for the next step. The fifth step is to get that knot on the side to leave the hook. When you
have your 4 rows of the brim done, you don t need the knot anymore. You must take it off the hook
and untie

Fear-Avoidance Beliefs
Predictors of fear avoidance beliefs in patients with acute low back pain: Investigting the effects of
pain characteristics and functional disability
Low back pain (LBP) is one of the leading causes of disability and work absence globally,
affecting not just the individual, but also extending to families, communities and society at large.
Whilst the prevalence of LBP is high, with over 70 percent of people experiencing some LBP at
some point during their lives, most will resolve within a few months (Campbell et al, 2013).
Problems arise when pain persists beyond the expected period of healing or when it exceeds 12
weeks in duration. An estimated 40 percent of people who present with acute LBP continue to
report symptoms after 3 months and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Previous research has identified pain characteristics and beliefs as well as fear avoidance beliefs as
potential predictors of the development of chronic pain. Waddel et al (1993) found that fear
avoidance beliefs accounted for 23 percent of the variance in disability in ADL s and 26% of
variance in work loss, after controlling for pain. Fear avoidance beliefs in relation to physical
activity have been shown to be predictive of increased disability in older adults with chronic LBP
(Camacho Soto et al, 2012). In a large scale 5 year longitudinal UK study of 488 patients to
determine prognostic factors that predict pain and disability, two key predictive factors identified
were pain intensity and the belief that pain would persist (Campbell et al, 2013).
Given the contribution of fear avoidance beliefs to the development of chronic pain and
disability, in this study we sought to explore predictors of fear avoidance beliefs. Despite the
brevity of the FABQ PA, in local clinical practice, the administration of the FABQ is often difficult
due to language barriers and difficulty with the rating scale. Therefore the purpose of the this study
was to investigate possible predictors of fear avoidance beliefs from information commonly derived
from a physiotherapy initial

Why God Is Forever Faithful
I believe God is forever faithful. There have had countless times that I have seen the work of
God. The first, seeing my alcoholic son find the help to stop drinking and to want to keep striving
to be the man, father, and husband that God intended him to be. Another, in 1990, my husband had
his colon removed. Three years, twelve surgeries, and almost death later he pulled through. Next is
when my children were young and facing important situations or have important questions, I
would say an instant prayer for wisdom before answering them. It was amazing to hear what God
gave me for a reply. And last, our thirty year old daughter had a reflex door that went between her
kidney and bladder that would not shut so she had constant... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

If they are not open to talk of the Lord, I can privately pray for them. I believe God is personally
there for us. I love constantly talking with God. I feel he personally is with us and answers us in
his own way. I find myself asking him for wisdom when I have to help someone with issues. I
see his beauty as I go about my day and thank him. In tough times I have a quick phrase that I
sing as a prayer, I need you now . Once I was driving and I was listening to Christian music and
just enjoying feeling close to him. I said something to him in my head. All of a sudden, I heard a
very funny response in a clear voice next to me. I had to turn and make sure there wasn t anyone
there. I know God has a sense of humor. I have felt God bring comfort to me during difficult
situations. When I have to write papers for school, I feel anxious and pray for clarity and
guidance. I know that God is personally there for me. I feel that having a strong and true belief
in God will reflect on to my clients to give them a comfort when working with me. God will be
in every one of my sessions to help guide me and show me what the client s issues are and to help
me pick up the nonverbal communications that they are exhibiting. I know that God will work
through me and my clients Philippians 4:131. I believe God is our great Creator. The gorgeous

The Influence Of The Internet
The internet was created to change way we work everyday. It has become the way we work, think,
and communicate to one another. Just about every job requires you to use the internet to get the job
done easier, and more efficiently. Without life these days would be extremely difficult. What is the
internet? The Internetis the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet
protocol suiteto link devices worldwide. Who invented the internet? Two men by the names of
Robert E. Kahn and Vint Cerf are the creators of the internet. Why was the internet created? The
first workable prototype of the Internet came in the late 1960s with the creation of ARPANET, or
the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. Originally funded by the U.S. Department of
Defense, ARPANET used packet switching to allow multiple computers to communicate on a
single network. (Andrew) Reason number one why the internet has changed our lives, is because
we as human beings are not patient enough. The internet allows us to contact others and get a
response sooner than we would if we were to write a letter and put it through the mail system. The
internet can bring us entertainment, Information, and the insight faster than anything, but the
quickness of the information hurt us; in fact, Most people have lost their patients with society,
because they are used to the way they gather information from the internet, and are not able to be
patient when the internet is not able to deliver

Descriptive Essay On Hyde Park
When it comes to Hyde Park I m reminded of all of those old Hollywood movies. I m pretty sure
that a werewolf or two once ran through Hyde Park and it was definitely mentioned in some
Sherlock Holmes movies. I also believe that Hyde Park is one of the most popular parks in London,
England. It is a part of the Royal Parks of London. Hyde Parkis one of the greatest city parks in the
world and has over 4,000 trees as well as a large lake, a meadow and there are wonderful
ornamental flower gardens. It has something for everyone to enjoy. In the park people can swim,
go boating, cycling and skating. There are places for playing team games, tennis courts, horse
riding paths and a children s playground.
Within the park are also two lakeside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At that time it was mostly used for hunting. Finally in 1637 King Charles I had the park opened to
the public.
Among Hyde Park s special features are:
The large artificial lake which is known as the Serpentine, located at the south end of the park. This
lake extends onward toward the north and goes into Kensington Gardens where its name changes to
Long Water. The lake is very popular for swimming and boating.
To the southwest is the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain which looks more like an
artificial stream. It is a circular fountain which is made up of 545 pieces of Cornish granite. Water
from it flows on two sides at the top and winds up in a small pool at the bottom.
Odd as it may sound there is Rotten Row. No nothing to do with anything rotten. It is located at
the south end of Hyde Park and is a famous bridle path. Rotten Row is about 4 miles long and is
used for horse riding and also for jogging. William III used this road quite often in the 17th
century. Since the king thought that the walk from Kensington Palace to St. James s Palace was
most dangerous he had the very first lit public road created by having oil lamps installed along it.
Why Rotten Row? Because it s derived from the French route du roi or King s

10, 000 Beers Play Analysis
10,000 Beers by Alex Broun is an energizing and unique style of an Australian work, investigating
masculinity, sport and mateship. The play explores a theme that is seen very little on our
contemporary stages, yet brings to light issues that are ever present in our Australian culture such
as the pressure to compete or preform. Another further concept looked at within the playis the
negative impact that mateship in sport can really have on an athlete. With school soon coming to
an end, I decided it would be apt to delve into a play which explores part of my life outside of
school. Sport. As an athlete I ve lived the lifestyle that the characters in the play have, experienced

Since sport, mateship, masculinity, and ultimately the athlete s perspective is an overarching
factor in this production, it was a logical decision to research these themes. As an athlete myself,
a lot of the information gathered is from first hand experience with team sports and professional
sport. However other research was conducted online in order to find other perspectives on these
themes and how they play apart in society. Through the research, the majority agree that mateship
and masculinity can make or break an athlete. Mateship is something that can affect a player in
both in a negative and positive way, if you get along with the group then it can be seen as an
encouraging environment, however if you do not fit in with the team and are constantly picked
on, the effects can be very detrimental to certain athletes. Masculinity is defined as being manly
which consists of being tough and able to hold your beer in most cases associated with sport. To
onlookers this can been seen as just a funny concept, but to an athlete it is a case of fitting in, and
this is further explored in the

DBMS play a significant role in many things we interact with on the daily like the internet. DBMS can be on a small scale for individual use or on a larger scale for a company looking to keep track of all the data they collect. Each database is custom designed for the company, or organization that will use it. Records are kept in databases and each record is very unique in its own way having different fields for what it pertains to. Each record has something that makes it unique that the other records don t have. Text, number, dates, and amounts of money are all different computations for DBMS. All of this information is separated into fields and this is how Big Data is sorted and accessible and understandable. The data can be put in manually or sometimes it is computer assisted when it is more efficient. For example: a program may catch on if you are doing monthly reports and create a section for all 12 months after one is manually made. The use of Database Management Systems can date back to 1966. The program was made by IBM with the help of other companies for the Apollo Program. It was designed to keep track of the bill of materials for space crafts and other things involving the trip to space. This database used a hierarchical format which can be considered a tree like structure which is still used today. At the top of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the Canal was built towns all along the route from Buffalo to Albany prospered from the revenue and the attraction the Canal brought with it. Whether the Canal was being used for business people, immigrants, settlers of the region, or tourists, the border towns all had some appeal to these persons. After some time the state was continually asked to expand the Canal from the original route to include connecting canal routes. However, the same towns along the route from Buffalo to Albany had already been established along the lines of the original canal. These towns would need to be relocated in order to obey these new requests. This presented a major problem because the people in these towns had formed a life around the Canal and many of them made their income based of the Canal. The inhabitants of the towns changed their mentality from not wanting the Canal to invade on their lives, to it being an essential part of their lives they depended upon. The Erie Canal provided an extremely fast source of transportation compared to other ones of that time. A lot of the land that the Canal went through was uninhabited and therefore people weren t able to move through these areas. Once the Canal was built it served as that pathway through these areas. The Canal also was a much cheaper source of transportation that was used by residents, tourists, emigrants, and workers during this time. Evangelical preachers used the artificial ... THE ETHIOPIAN EUNUCH STORY OF CLASS, RACE, GENDER, ETHNICITY, AND SEXUALITY (ACTS 8:26 49) ESSAY Introduction The story in Acts 8:26 40, which hold what could be a vital point of the first half of Acts of Apostle, give an account of the baptism of an unusual character presented in Acts 8:27 as an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a court official of the Candace, queen of the Ethiopian. The biblical character exemplifies in concrete form as multiple dissimilarities of class, race, gender, and perhaps religion and sexuality as well. There is ambiguity in Ethiopian eunuch that defined a distinguished difference he was embodied. This ambiguity can be different in regards to class, race, and gender, but what are his class, gender, and race? In an illustration of Acts, F. Scott Spencer noted that a comprehensive examination of the Ethiopian traveller s place in ancient society in relation to standard categories of race, class, and gender uncovers a fascinating, multifaceted character which defies easy classification . Cottrell R. Carson stated more expressively as In many respect, the Ethiopian eunuch defies categorization. His lack of definition is extreme . How can we administer these ambiguities in a biblical character? In order to handle this question, it is expedient to first observe how we read the eunuch s identity in the circumstances of religion, class, race, gender, and sexuality. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... N saccharin is more stable than O saccharin, so it should be the major product of the reaction, if not the only product, if the reaction reaches thermal equilibrium. A reaction involving the oxygen as the nucleophile should occur faster than one involving nitrogen because the oxygen is more electronegative. This electronegativity would attract the attack of the nucleophile more so than the Nitrogen atom would. Based on the 1H NMR spectrum that was collected, a few things can be determined. Based on deshielding and electronegativity, the peak that occurs around 4.7ppm is associated with the O ethylsaccharin product and the peak at 3.8 ppm is associated with the N ethylsaccharin product. Based on the height ration, the N ethylsaccharin product is the more prevalent result. The solvent that was chosen for the experiment is a polar aprotic solvent that can be used to stabilize charge. This stabilization can also be used to stabilize an ionic transition state. This stabilization of the transition state along with the nature of the products based on the chemical properties would encourage the reaction to proceed toward the N ethylsaccharin product. Perhaps the easiest and most straightforward aspect to asses regarding the effects of the different types of care is the physical development of infants and children. These are objective findings which can easily and definitely be measured. Children raised in a home care setting are obviously less likely to catch illness such as colds and flu, chicken pox and other communicable diseases. They do not share toy toys and objects with those children who may be infected with an illness and they are not in close contact and quarters with those who are infected. Parents who have more education and have more social concerns are also likely to be diligent about the cleanliness of the environment and are more concerned with hand washing and cleanliness. These parents and caregivers exhibit more responsibility with leaving their children home when an illness is suspected, so as to not infect other people and children. Children who are reared in the home environment may experience delays in physical motor skills, as well as physical growth. This could be due in part to less physical interaction and mirroring of other children. The environment remaining familiar and the attentive caregiver, home caregivers often jump to the needs of their children. Former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat planned to officially announce the statehood of Palestine in 1996 (Quigley). This action received a strong response from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu said recognition of Palestinian statehood would nullify the Israeli Palestinian agreement. From this notion, Netanyahu threatened to invade Palestinian territories like the West Bank of Jordan River. The settlements have been a prominent feature in hindering peaceful treaties. Israelclaims that it should have territorial rights to its settlements while Palestines cannot negotiate on land that Israel continues to occupy. The tensions between the Jewish and Arab state continued to grow as Israel expanded Jewish settlements in the West Bank. According to the United Nations, these settlements are illegal under international law. This violates the Fourth Geneva Convention which prohibits states to occupy land in a war zone (League). Both sides of the government have been unable to communicate effectively to determine an agreement to resolve the territorial dispute. North American Craton Research Papers North American Craton The North American Craton, or the core of the North American continent, makes up much of the interior of present day Canada and the United States. This area is home to the earliest tectonic activity responsible for the creation of North America, dating back billions of years ago. In the beginning, volcanic island chains, found near ancient oceanic plate subduction zones, slowly formed and thickened into new continental crusts. Eventually these continents, due to their size, became more buoyant than their surrounding ocean basins; thus, allowing them to begin gradually growing outward over time with the addition of new material via subduction, sedimentation, and continental collision. The oldest sedimentary rocks found here were originally deposited when North America was still located near the equator, beginning around ~350 million years ago. During this time, periods of shallow sea flooding left various sands and muds across much of the craton, which eventually formed into sandstone, limestone, and shale. The landscapes of the national parks on the platform were later shaped by the interaction of these sedimentary layers with the environmental conditions in which they became located. Mammoth Cave in Kentucky, for example, is the result of groundwater slowly dissolving the ancient subsurface limestone, creating the largest cave system on earth with over 346 miles of known passageways today. Similar formations can be seen in places like the Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. Regions of this type are generally characterized as karst topographies. There are also younger areas of the platform where erosion can be seen but, more predominantly at the surface level, like Badlands National Park in South Dakota, for example. There exists in man the desire to be recognized by others as an individual with specifically positive qualities. Therefore, based on the labels assigned to him, he creates his desired persona. This concept is exemplified in Rewriting the Soul by Ian Hacking through his theory of the looping effect, which portrays a cycle of mutual changes based on the influence of classifications and those classified. Humans are given labels and thus act appropriately to either maintain the favorable labels or diminish those which appear negative. This creates a fabrication based on the influence of others rather than a true self. The mimicry of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Hacking dives into the history of multiple personality disorder he brings up a certain concept to justify the transition from the 19th century version of the disorder to modern day s picture. This concept he names the looping effect of human kinds (21), which is explained with the MPD example being that the doctors vision was different because the patients were different; but the patients were different because the doctors expectations were different (21). The doctors influence the patients only to be later influenced in return by the patients thus there will never be a concrete definition of MPD nor will there be a fixed prototype of the disorder as both are being constantly mutually altered. Consequently, a diagnosed MPD possessor will never truly know whether or not they have the disorder since MPD has no locked definition. In like manner, the looping effect affects all persons as their identities are continually being modified from external influences whether they chose to be or not. In the case of consciously changing themselves, people are specifically labeled and are assigned certain qualities of which they either view as pleasant or insulting. As a result, these people choose to modify themselves in the attempt of creating a new self that embodies the favored qualities and eliminates the unattractive qualities. This new self is nothing more than a mimic of surrounding influences, which present ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Parker s Back by Flannery O Connor To the uninitiated, the significance of Flannery O Connor s Parker s Back can seem at once cold and dispassionate, as well as almost absurdly stark and violent. Her short stories routinely end in horrendous, freak fatalities or, at the very least, a character s emotional devastation. Flannery O Connor is a Christian writer, and her work is message oriented, yet she is far too brilliant a stylist to tip her hand; like all good writers, crass didacticism is abhorrent to her. Unlike some more cryptic writers, O Connor was happy to discuss the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of her stories, and this candor is a godsend for the researcher that seeks to know what makes the writer tick. Flannery O Connor put much conscious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For me, the most chilling aspect of the story is the description of a prophetic water stain above Asbury s bed: Thematic Elements This concept of displacement runs throughout O Connor s work, and it is essentially a displacement from the world of the one true God, a theological displacement, although within the context of the story it is more social, based on the nature of the freak s position in the society. Very often, the grotesque elements of O Connor s stories are balanced out by anagogical ones. Again, the latter are not specifically symbols, for symbols work contextually to represent interactive story elements, whereas O Connor s anagogical elements are just there, they wander in and out of the action; they may have symbolic significance, but it never comes directly into play as a plot element. Facing death is another thematic element that recurs often in O Connor, for obvious reasons, both personal and religious. 23 O Connor admits as much herself, in an essay in which she discusses A Good Man is Hard to Find: The heroine of the story, the Grandmother, is in the most significant position life offers the Christian. She is facing death. 24 This last quote speaks volumes; it is probably the single most significant and telling remark the student of Flannery O Connor can have in his attempt to understand her work. Clearly facing death as a Christian was the motivational engine that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. My Story Of The School Year Of 2010-2011 My story begins in the school year of 2010 2011. I was a fifth grader, eleven years of age, at Santa Fe 5/6 Center. As per requirements we had to take a music class, and I knew that I could not sing, so an instrument it was. Most of that year I spent experimenting with wind and string instruments to find out if I belonged in band or orchestra. I was never really interested in any of the wind instrument so I atleast knew I was going to be in orchestra. The year ended with me being skeptical to if I should play an instrument or not. With the next school year approaching fast I had to make my decision. A few days before sixth grade started, Santa Fe hosted a little music assembly for the students and their parents to come and enjoy music and also to provide instruments for the students to try out and possibly buy. I remember walking around a tad bit nervous looking for an instrument and that s when I heard someone start playing the cello. I turned to look and saw a man, Mr. Stanley, who later I found out was my cello teacher, playing the cello. He played so beautifully it inspired me. The warm, rich tone of the cello filled the room and I remember almost everyone stopped what they were doing just to listen to him play. I think mother saw the glint in my eyes when I first listened to the cello and she knew that was my choice. After Mr. Stanley s little performance was done, I approached him and bombarded him with questions. In the end Mother ended up buying a three fourths ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Making A Hat With A Pom Pom Making a loom hat with a pom pom takes a lot of time to make your first time, but after a while of making hats with pom poms, you will be able to make them faster than your first time. The first thing to do before making a hat with the pom pom, is to gather all material needed to make a hat. The materials you will need are: a circular loom that matches the head size you wantto make the hat, a knittingloom tool, a tapestry needle, scissors, yarn with the color of your choice, and a flexible curve ruler or a regular ruler. These will be all the material you will need to make a loom hat for your first time. Once you ve learned how to make a basic loom hat, you can start using more materials or not as many materials when making a loom hat.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fourth step is where we finally start making the brim of the hat. The brim will take some time to make, but afterwards, everything will be easier to make the hat. You will need to wrap the string that is attached to the yarn and knot the first hook you want near the hook of where the knot is on. You will wrap it around in a circle and continue to do this for each hook next to the previous hook you just wrapped the string around until you reach back to the beginning of where you started. You will then push down all the wraps down each hook so you can have room to start another row of where you wrap the string around each hook again. Make sure to not let go of the string so that none of your work done is undone. Once you have another row done, you must use your knitting tool to grab the first or last wrap you did on the bottom row and pull it over the hook, but make sure the top row does not come off. I usually grab the bottom wrap on the last and pull it over and continue from there so I don t have to worry about anything coming undone and I don t have to hold on to the string wrapped around the hook. You then must continue to make a new row each time till you get 4 rows of the brim. Make sure to not push down the fourth row you did for the next step. The fifth step is to get that knot on the side to leave the hook. When you have your 4 rows of the brim done, you don t need the knot anymore. You must take it off the hook and untie ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Predictors of fear avoidance beliefs in patients with acute low back pain: Investigting the effects of pain characteristics and functional disability Low back pain (LBP) is one of the leading causes of disability and work absence globally, affecting not just the individual, but also extending to families, communities and society at large. Whilst the prevalence of LBP is high, with over 70 percent of people experiencing some LBP at some point during their lives, most will resolve within a few months (Campbell et al, 2013). Problems arise when pain persists beyond the expected period of healing or when it exceeds 12 weeks in duration. An estimated 40 percent of people who present with acute LBP continue to report symptoms after 3 months and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Previous research has identified pain characteristics and beliefs as well as fear avoidance beliefs as potential predictors of the development of chronic pain. Waddel et al (1993) found that fear avoidance beliefs accounted for 23 percent of the variance in disability in ADL s and 26% of variance in work loss, after controlling for pain. Fear avoidance beliefs in relation to physical activity have been shown to be predictive of increased disability in older adults with chronic LBP (Camacho Soto et al, 2012). In a large scale 5 year longitudinal UK study of 488 patients to determine prognostic factors that predict pain and disability, two key predictive factors identified were pain intensity and the belief that pain would persist (Campbell et al, 2013). Given the contribution of fear avoidance beliefs to the development of chronic pain and disability, in this study we sought to explore predictors of fear avoidance beliefs. Despite the brevity of the FABQ PA, in local clinical practice, the administration of the FABQ is often difficult due to language barriers and difficulty with the rating scale. Therefore the purpose of the this study was to investigate possible predictors of fear avoidance beliefs from information commonly derived from a physiotherapy initial ... The first, seeing my alcoholic son find the help to stop drinking and to want to keep striving to be the man, father, and husband that God intended him to be. Another, in 1990, my husband had his colon removed. Three years, twelve surgeries, and almost death later he pulled through. Next is when my children were young and facing important situations or have important questions, I would say an instant prayer for wisdom before answering them. It was amazing to hear what God gave me for a reply. And last, our thirty year old daughter had a reflex door that went between her kidney and bladder that would not shut so she had constant... In tough times I have a quick phrase that I sing as a prayer, I need you now . Once I was driving and I was listening to Christian music and just enjoying feeling close to him. Just about every job requires you to use the internet to get the job done easier, and more efficiently. Without life these days would be extremely difficult. What is the internet? The Internetis the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet protocol suiteto link devices worldwide. Who invented the internet? Two men by the names of Robert E. Kahn and Vint Cerf are the creators of the internet. Why was the internet created? The first workable prototype of the Internet came in the late 1960s with the creation of ARPANET, or the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network. Originally funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, ARPANET used packet switching to allow multiple computers to communicate on a single network. (Andrew) Reason number one why the internet has changed our lives, is because we as human beings are not patient enough. The internet allows us to contact others and get a response sooner than we would if we were to write a letter and put it through the mail system. The internet can bring us entertainment, Information, and the insight faster than anything, but the quickness of the information hurt us; in fact, Most people have lost their patients with society, because they are used to the way they gather information from the internet, and are not able to be patient when the internet is not able to deliver ... I m pretty sure that a werewolf or two once ran through Hyde Park and it was definitely mentioned in some Sherlock Holmes movies. Hyde Parkis one of the greatest city parks in the world and has over 4,000 trees as well as a large lake, a meadow and there are wonderful ornamental flower gardens. It is located at the south end of Hyde Park and is a famous bridle path. Rotten Row is about 4 miles long and is used for horse riding and also for jogging. William III used this road quite often in the 17th century. The play explores a theme that is seen very little on our contemporary stages, yet brings to light issues that are ever present in our Australian culture such as the pressure to compete or preform. Another further concept looked at within the playis the negative impact that mateship in sport can really have on an athlete. Mateship is something that can affect a player in both in a negative and positive way, if you get along with the group then it can be seen as an encouraging environment, however if you do not fit in with the team and are constantly picked on, the effects can be very detrimental to certain athletes.
