Espada s Comparison Of Coca-Cola To Potion
After being much pressured from his family, the boy has no choice other than to drink the potion,
familiar / from soda fountains in Brooklyn (12 13). From the boy s perspective, we can clearly see his
emotional dissatisfaction as he states, he was bored with this potion (12). Espada s comparison of
Coca Cola to potion suggests that the people of Puerto Rico are deeply mesmerized by American
products, and that they are incapable of recognizing the copious amounts of goods that Puerto Rico
has to offer to its people. The speaker emphasizes the significance of American culture on the Puerto
Rican citizens and outstandingly illustrates the influences and effects of Americanization. These
effects are clearly evident even with the older generation

Causes And Effects Of Poverty And Homeless People

NC Graduation Project In North Carolina the problem that is needed to be addressed is poverty and
homeless people throughout the entire state. Some of the problems the are leading causes to poverty
and homeless people is unemployment, which is leading to less to none employment opportunities
Leading Causes of Poverty , and income disparity which is leading to many families to not be able to
pay bills, buy, or manage income. With the current issue of the causes and effects of poverty and
Homelessness in North Carolina, I had to complete community service hours at the Hoke Emergency
Liaison Program or H.E.L.P to see the issue first hand. The Organization has had many years dealing
with the big issue to this very and is still going to make sure they can help every person they can and
to get rid of homelessness and poverty. What is poverty? Poverty can have all different meanings to
everybody. For example The World Bank organization believe poverty is not having enough money to
meet basic needs including food, clothing and shelter. Also In addition to a lack of money, poverty is
about not being able to participate in recreational activities, not being able to send children on a day
trip with their schoolmates or to a birthday party, and not being able to pay for medications for an
illness. Mainly poverty is the state of being extremely poor but not always homeless and unable to pay
some necessity. Even though many people may be

Harry Potter Heroic Monomyth Essay
Books and movies, young and old, generally follow the same path. This path is called heroic
monomyth in which the hero undergoes many tasks and is most likely accompanied by a friend and
meets new trials along the way. In the novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone by J.K. Rowling,
the character Harry Potter displays multiple counts of heroic monomyth through the call to adventure,
supernatural aid, and crossing the threshold. In the novel, the call to adventure is present in multiple
ways. First, an unusual letter shows up at the Dursley s home one day. This letter, unlike all of the
other letters and various mail, was addressed to Harry Potter. Yet here it was, a letter, addressed so
plainly there could be no mistake... (Rowling 34). It was also made of strange parchment paper, and
signed in emerald which made it stand out. This letter was calling Potter to Hogwarts School of ...

Potter s supernatural aid would be considered Rubeus Hagrid, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
Granger and Weasley are Potter s closest friends throughout the whole novel. They are in his house,
Gryffindor, and they help him along his quest. One example of how they aid him through the journey
is when they help Harry Potter to get to the sorcerer s stone before professor Snape can. Potter tells
them that it is okay if they want to stay behind and maybe they even should, but Weasley contradicts
Potter by saying, Oh, come off it, you don t think we d let you go alone (Rowling 271). Granger then
agrees with Weasley and Potter allows them to come along and help them to get through the six
obstacles leading to the sorcerer s stone. The door was hit with such force that it swung clean off its
hinges and with a defeating crash landed flat on the floor. A giant man was standing in the doorway
(Rowling 47) Hagrid is an enormous person who is powerful. He uses his advantage of being strong to

History Of Mathematica Policy Research ( Mpr ) And Two...
Introduction
Mathematica Policy Research (MPR) and two consultants, Leigh Linden and Harounan Kazianga,
conducted an independent evaluation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation s (MCC) two year
threshold compact in Burkina Faso, which was aimed at increasing educational attainment for primary
aged girls. The goal of the Burkinabé Response to Improve Girls Chances to Succeed (BRIGHT)
program, implemented from 2005 to 2008, was to improve the educational outcomes of primary
school students by targeting enrollment rates, and math and French scores. MPR et al (2009) evaluated
whether or not the impact was the same for both boys and girls. Key findings of the BRIGHT
intervention include: (1) primary student enrollment increased by 20 percentage points, (2) math and
French test scores increased by 0.4 standard deviations, and (3) a positive impact for both boys and
girls.
Program Background
Desite mandatory school enrollment and free primary schools, Burkina Fas still has some of the
lowest primary school enrollment rates in West Africa. Prior to BRIGHT, the national government
began pushing primary school enrollment by constructing new schools and implementing various new
programs. Gross enrollment increased from 12 percent in 1970 to 56 percent in 2005; however, these
numbers did not show the urban rural disparities.
BRIGHT was designed to increase school enrollment and improve the educational attainment of
primary school children in villages where girls enrollment

Essay on Symbolism In The Veil
Symbolism In The Veil The veil that the minister wears in The Ministers Black Veil , by Nathanial
Hawthorne represents the emphasis on man s inner reality, and those thoughts and feelings which are
not immediately obvious. As Hawthorne explored this inner nature, he found the source of dignity and
virtue, and certain elements of darkness. When the minister first walks out of his home wearing the
veil, everyone is astonished. This one man in this village decides to be a nonconformist and wear this
veil without explanation. No one understands why the minister would wear such a veil for no reason at
all. This is where all the assumptions begin to linger. All of the villagers have a story for why the veil
is there. These people are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet perhaps the pale faced congregation was almost as fearful a sight to the minister, as his black veil
to them. (1281) In reality the veil represents the secrets everyone is hiding within themselves. The
unifying theme is the conflict between the dark, hidden side of man and the standards imposed by his
puritanical heritage. Hawthorne brings evil and unauthorized desire into the way of puritan life, and in
so doing suggests a insightful truth that is disturbing in its implication, that is to say that we can never
hope to know each other s true selves. The themes in the story are suggested by the veil symbol, the
tension between the minister and the community. Every person has something to hide from the world.
The veil is symbolic for the cover up of peoples secrets. Although most people would not wear a veil,
the minister is proving a point. By wearing a simple black veil Mr. Hooper is making all the villagers
evaluate their everyday actions in life. The symbolic value of the black veil lies in the physical and
mental dilemma that it creates between the minister and his environment, and the guilt it conveys.

Explanation Of The Story Of Sherlock Holmes
1. Explanation of the plot (summary)
Doctor John H. Watson, who served in the war in Afghanistan, needs to share a place to live because
economic issues, and Sherlock Holmes, an eccentric and talented consulting detective, is the person
who becomes his best option. After a few days of living together, Watson finds out Holmes s
profession when he receives a letter from a detective Tobias Gregson, who asks for help to discover
who was the murderer of E. J. Drebber. Watson joins Holmes to the crime scene, and he observes how
Holmes works and gives clues about the murderer to the police only using his observation skills.
Holmes works alone to get more information about the crime, and Watson learns and asks about his
methods, which are explained as if they were a piece of cake. Having discovered who is the murderer,

Conflict (main problem or situation)
E. J. Drebber, a possible American businessman, is found killed in a hotel room without any injury or
blood on his body even though there are marks of blood surrounding the body. Some clues found are a
woman s ring and the German word Rache , which means revenge, which confuses to the police.
3. Raising actions (events that highlight or stress the conflict)
Sherlock Holmes observes the crime scene and jumps into conclusions based on his observation skills
and works alone to solve the crime. Later, Detective Gregson tells Holmes he thinks Arthur
Champertein is the murderer because Drebber tried to abuse and marry Arthur s sister, but this theory
is refuted when Lestrade lets them know that Joseph Strangerson, Drebber s secretary, was found
dead.
4. Climax (the most important event that comes near the end)
Sherlock Holmes knows who is the killer, but he does not say the name to Lestrade and Gregson
because they could ruin the plan. However, Holmes sets a trap at the moment when the detectives are
with him, and he arrests Jefferson Hope, the murderer, who pretended to be a cab driver all the

and why scavengers do what they do to survive. He begins his essay with how he became a scavenger
and follows that with how to scavenge the best, safest way possible. He communicates how to choose
the right dumpsters to dive into, how to determine if food is edible, and whether items are worth
holding onto. I believe Eighner chose this type of organization throughout his essay to ease readers
into the idea of scavenging through dumpsters. I feel like Eighner is almost trying to convince reader

Answers from Beauty: When the Other Dancer is the Self (pg.44) 1. Walker put the word accident in
quotations throughout her essay because her getting shot in the eye by her brother s BB gun was not
much of an accident. The story that was told to her parents suggested that a wire was responsible for
her eye injury. I truly believe that Walker has come to peace with the accident and its consequences
after her daughter had noticed her scar on her eye. She expressed her fear of the day her daughter
would be old enough to notice her mother s face was different than everyone else s. Once her daughter
had finally observed her physical flaw, she realized that it would not change how her daughter felt
about her. 2. Throughout the essay, Walker chooses particular moments in her life to show how much
she was affected by her injury throughout her entire life. She selects moments from different ages to
show that time never healed how she felt about her injury. At every age, she came across moments that
made her feel bad about the way she looked, whether it was from mean kids at school or taking a
picture for a cover story. All the experiences she described related to her theme of not changing
because although she was going through changes by growing up, her thoughts regarding her injury
never did. Once she changed on the outside, she confidence about herself changed as well, so all the
experiences she presented shows that she actually had

Morgan Spurlock s Film, Super Size Me Essay
As Steven Spielberg once said, documentaries are the greatest way to educate an entire generation
(Azevedo, 2013). In Morgan Spurlock s documentary Super Size Me, audiences are informed and
shown the dangers of consuming fast food everyday. Spurlock has a camera follow him for one month
as he consumes McDonalds for each meal thus exposing one to the unhealthy affects of the lifestyle.
Relying on images, interviews, and statistics the viewers are informed of how processed fast foods
begin to affect people starting from a young age. This documentary style film shapes the perception of
the spectator through the use of visual and narrative techniques. Morgan Spurlock s film Super Size

One can see that Spurlock believes that fast food industry is responsible for the rise in obesity hence
the reason for his experiment. Through narrative and editing Spurlock removes any biases that may
alter the results of his experiment (Cornell, Lecture #12). He films himself as well as others in
uncontrolled situations, the audience is put into his shoes as they watch these situations unfold just as
he once did (Cornell, Lecture #12). Spurlock sets rules to control the experiment for more accurate
results. These rules include eating three meals at McDonalds each day, only eating or drinking items
that are sold by McDonalds, super sizing meals only when asked, and trying everything on the menu
at least once. Rather than visiting the same McDonalds and dealing with the same employees, he
travels around to different cities and states. In the beginning of his experiment, Spurlock travels to
Houston, Texas which is known for being the most obese city in the United States. On his first trip to a
McDonalds in Houston he is automatically asked if he would prefer to super size his meal.
Throughout his entire 30 day experiment he is asked to super size his meal nine times, five of those
times are from employees in Texas. Questioning a vast array of people in schools and on the street,
Spurlock attempts to provoke responses in subjects being interviewed as well as the audience (Cornell,
Lecture #12). Due to the lack of direction and script the questions, answers, and

Sexual Transmitted Infection Summary
STI or Sexual Transmitted Infection is one of the most common issues that sexually active people
obtain from unprotected sex. This can lead to a serious problem when left untreated. In Tad and Kara s
case, I would think that Tad is not telling the truth and he is hiding something from Kara. If Tad is not
hiding something even though he claimed that he has never taken sexual risks, he should not be upset.
Kara is just protecting herself from possible sexual related illness. If he does not want to be tested then
Kara has the right to refuse to his request or desire. On the other hand, Kara should understand that if
Tad loves him and value their relationship, he would consider her health. It is not worth it to stay in a

March On Washington Essay
On August 28, 1963, the historic March on Washington, also known as the March on Washington for
Jobs and Food took place. It drew more than two hundred thousand people to the Lincoln Memorial in
Washington, D.C.. It was a political rally that would bring notice to the injustices faced by African
Americans across the country. This event is widely regarded as a milestone in the history of the
American civil rights movement. It would be during this protest that Martin Luther King Jr. would
give his famous I Have A Dream Speech that emphasized his belief that someday, all men and women
could be joined together in peace. The speech cemented his status as a social change leader and helped

The march was planned to begin in Selma, Alabama and end in Alabama s capital, Montgomery.
Police with nightsticks and tear gas stopped the protesters as they tried to cross the Edmund Pettus
Bridge. King was not present in this march, but the attacks were televised. People at home watched as
marchers were beaten bloody and severely injured. Seventeen of the marchers had to be hospitalized
after the event. Due to all of the occurring violence, the day became known as Bloody Sunday. A
second march was planned, but would be cancelled due to a restraining order preventing the march.
The third march was organized and Martin Luther King Jr. made sure to be included. King received
support from President Lyndon B. Johnson in this demonstration. He found a way around the
restraining order and a different action was taken in the third march. On March 9, 1965, King and
2,500 marchers, both black and white, set out to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge and were met by
barricades and state troopers. Instead of reacting in a violent way and facing confrontation, King
instructed the marchers to kneel in prayer. When finished praying, he and all of the marchers turned
and went back the way that they came. This march caused a loss in support from some younger
African Americans, but nonetheless the march led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act, which
guaranteed the right to vote to all African

Personal Note On Chinese New Year
I was back home in China celebrating Chinese Lunar New Year with my parents for the first time in 5
years. Fireworks outside the window were so loud that I could feel the floor was shaking. My parents
and I were sitting on the couch and stared at the TV screen. No one was talking. This Chinese New
Year was different from what it was like when I was a kid. When I was still in Elementary school, I
looked forward to Chinese New Year the most. There were so many cool things about Chinese New
Year. My parents would be so busy that they forgot the fact that I had a huge load of homework to
finish. I could have hours of free time to spend playing video games. My grandma would make tons of
food that were beyond delicious. My parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every year, Masters from all kinds of entertainment fields gathered up and offered their best
performances to the audience. The magic show especially grabbed my interests as a kid. Afraid of
missing any single movement the magician made, I would almost stick my nose against the TV screen,
in hope to find out how the magician performed such a mind blowing magic.
Since adults believed firing fireworks would bring good fortunes to the new year, the sky would be
covered with fireworks during the night before Lunar New Year. My dad was a firm believer of such a
superstition and enthusiastically joined the firework party every year. The day before Lunar New Year,
my dad would take me on a trip looking for new fireworks. We always picked the biggest one we
could find on the market. As the clock approached 12 pm, the firework party started. The silence of
the night would be interrupted by the first sound of fireworks. Following the first sound of firework,
thousands of fireworks shot up the sky and exploded into many colorful, beautiful patterns. My and I
would also light up our firework to join the party. As a kid, the sight was as splendid as it could ever
get. As the time approached 12 pm, the fireworks had only gotten louder than before. I stood up to get
myself ready to light our fireworks. My dad looked at me curiously, and asked: Where are you going?

Christian Elements In Beowulf
The intermingling of Christian ideas and classical rhetoric has set the foundation for many centuries of
literature works. The overlap of elements appeals to readers who are accustomed to Biblical language
while simultaneously engaging with their imaginative experience of a secular world, an expression
that is observed in the epic poem Beowulf. Commonly cited as one of the most important works of
Old English literature, the poem provides valuable insight into a culture that resembles our own
societal challenges while simultaneously remaining distant from the present day world. This analytical
essay will focus on the strategic use of words and phrases and how the poets emphasis on religious
association invokes the answers to many central human perplexities. Through its use of repetitive
elements and various motifs within Christian and pagan values, the poet builds on the many elements
within virtuous philosophy. Although many analytical dissertations interpret the influence that
Beowulf s diction has on Christian ideals, it is critical to examine how the poem s religious expression
affects its pagan characters. Many literary works incorporate stock elements to continuously keep their
readers engaged in the purpose of its context. These elements are distinct analogous words or phrases
that are chosen to convey the rhetorical device. The author of Beowulf repeatedly acknowledged God
as an all mighty figure that overshadows the lives of both its readers and the

Richard Nixon Watergate Scandal
Watergate scandal remains one of the historical revelation of excessive use of power during the reign
of President Richard Nixon. After the break in at the Democratic National Committee at the Westgate
offices, there was a remarkable series of rotten underbelly in the Nixon s administration. Specifically,
this scandal led to the discovery of the multiple abuses of the power under the articles of
impeachment. Because of the unlawful approach used by this administration to thwart those who were
critical of Nixon s administration, human rights groups and political activities embarked on
demanding for explanation and resignation of the president. Rightful, there was reasonable grounds to
demand the president s resignation because it became overt that he had used FBI, CIA and Internal

During this scandal, Clinton was accused of engaging in an extramarital affair in the White House.
This led to the impeachment motion in 1998 by the U.S House of Representatives. However, he was

to practice law was suspended in Arkansas and even by the United States Supreme Court. Besides, he
received a fine of $90,000 because of giving a wrong account of the testimony. Like the previous
President, the Clinton Lewinsky Sex Scandal depicts a serious pursuit of the American people to
safeguard the respect for the presidency. The fact that the U.S president was subjected to Senate and
House of Representative trial and even suspension of his legal license manifest expansion of the
oversight roles. Indeed, the president is accountable to the electorate both politically and socially.
Again, this scandal revealed the increased scrutiny on the presidency and demand for accountability

Essay on Resistance to Organizational Change
Individuals when faced with any major change will be inevitably resistant and will want to preserve
the status quo, especially if they think their status or security within the organization is in danger
(Bolognese, 2010). Folger and Skarlicki believe that organizational change produces skepticism in
employees which make it problematic and possibly even impossible to contrive improvements within
the organization (as cited in Bolognese, 2010) Therefore, management must understand, accept and
make an effort to work with resistance, since it can undermine even the most well conceived change
efforts (Bolognese, 2010). Furthermore, Coetsee states for organizations to achieve the maximum
benefits from change they must effectively create and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Technical resistance is caused when employees are concerned about the capital that was invested in
the technology and equipment that is currently being used. There is also cultural resistance that is
difficult for employees to change values, norms, and procedures that are supported by the current
culture within the organization. The final type of resistance is political resistance. This happens when
decisions made in the past are now being questioned which can cause certain stakeholders to feel
threatened (Van Dijk, Van Dick, 2009).
Elements for Dealing with Resistance
According to Palmer, Dunford, and Akin (2009) there are six different approaches to managing
resistance to change which are, situational, let nature take its course, thought self leadership, creative
counters, tinkering, kludging, and pacing approach, and finally the power of resistance approach.
While all of these different methods or approaches for dealing with change have positives and
negatives, some are better than others. For example, Kotter and Schlesinger s situational method is
great in that it recognizes some situations need to be treated differently than others. However, they
suggest that manipulation could be used and while they explain the dangers of this approach, its
application is very limited and the rewards don t outweigh the risks.
Another approach that Palmer, Dunford, and Akin (2009)

Persuasive Essay On Copper And Nickel
We, the state of Minnesota, have a big decision coming up when it comes to mining the copper and
nickel in the boundary waters. Sulfide mining has been stereotyped as a major pollutant to nearby
waterways. As this may have been proven true with other mining corporations, PolyMet Mining has
found a new way of reusing the sulfide as renewable energy instead of flushing it back into the
waterways. Minnesota is home to one of the largest deposits of copper, nickel, and other precious
metals. Currently there is only one copper and nickel mine currently being used in the United States.
With the U.S consuming more than 202,000 tons of nickel annually, there could be a shortage of
copper and nickel in the near future. Many commonly used equipment has copper and nickel in it.
Some examples of this equipment and common everyday things include: Food preparation equipment,
mobile phones, medical equipment, transportation, buildings, and power generation. With a high
demand for copper and nickel, not being able to replace these metals may result in an increase of
prices of these commonly used items (Where). For those people who are against the mining, imagine
life without mobile phones and medical equipment. Copper and nickel is more important than most
people think.
Embracing the opportunity to mine these precious metals would create jobs, surplus the economy and
would provide more than two billion dollars to the Minnesota Permanent School Trust Fund (Mining).

Aesir Research Paper
LITERARY BACKGROUNDS AND TERMINOLOGIES The primary texts are derived from two
major sources of Scandinavian mythology: the Elder Edda (Poetic Edda) and the Younger Edda (Prose
Edda). As the name suggests, the former contains some old materials composed as early as the 10th
and 11th centuries, including Völuspá (The Seeress s Prophecy), Thrymskvida (Thyrm s Poem), and
Lokasenna (Loki s Quarrel). While the authors of the Elder remains unknown, the Younger is written
by the Icelandic historian, poet, and politician Snorri Sturluson around A.D. 1220. Both texts are
related in a way that Sturluson cited various contents from the Elder to produce the Younger (von

also a figure who proves his competence to solve problems for them (Lindow, 2002, pp. 217; von

hammer from the giant Thrym. To get back the hammer, Loki sets foot in Jötunheimr, where he
negotiates with Thrym, who demands the goddess Freyja to be his wife as an exchange. However,
when Freyja refuses, much to the annoyance of Thor, he has to pretend by dressing up as her. When
Thor complains, Loki scolds him and says, be quite, Thor, ... / The giant will be settling in Asgard /
unless you get your hammer back (Larrington, 2008, pp. 99). Here, Loki s warning indicates his
allegiance to the Aesir over the giants. Interestingly, being notoriously known for his short temper,
Thor does not lash out against Loki when he orders him to be quite. In fact, Thor willingly obeys his
request because Thor senses the truth that without the hammer, the safety of Asgard will be
jeopardized. With the help of Loki, Thor manages to get back his hammer in the end. This story

Essay on Ice Packs an Endothermic Reaction
* .
Introduction
Endothermic reactions are accompanied by the absorption of heat. The dissolving of ammonium
nitrate in water is an example of an endothermic reaction. The solution resulting from this mixture is
colder than either the ammonium nitrate or the water. This is the simple explanation of what happens
in an instant ice pack. The more detailed information will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
Cold Packs
Most cold packs come with a fabric cover made to absorb condensation and to protect the skin from
contacting the surface of the cold pack. Cold packs are used for injury or muscle relief. The cold pack
contains two bags one containing water and the other containing ammonium chloride. Once the
ammonium chloride is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This cooling reaction occurs instantaneously but lasts for about an hour. How does this reaction
sustain itself for twenty minutes? This question will be answered later in this explanation.
The type of cold pack presented here contains ammonium nitrate, which is a white crystalline
substance. When these crystals react with water they split into positive ammonium ions and negative
nitrate ions. Due to the energy expended by the water in order to dissolve these crystals, the water
becomes colder.
Chemical Reaction
Ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3), is classified as a salt. The salt family of chemicals contains ions,
which are particles with electrical charges. Due to the fact that opposite polarity ions attract each
other, they form a solid crystal that is called salt. This when seen by the naked eye seem like a simple
reaction. Bu, in reality this occurs in two different steps and each step a change of energy takes place.
The first step is the separation of the solid crystals back into separate ions, a positive ammonium ion
and a negative nitrate ion. The break these ionic bonds requires a lot of energy which means heat must
be taken from the surrounding water. The second step the water molecules, which are H2O, are
attracted to the ions and attach themselves to the ions. The second step actually causes heat to be
produced to the surrounding liquid mixture. .Even

A Research Study On New Key Markets
Studying more deeply the geographic population, finding new key markets ready to be pierced by a
new identifiable group with specific needs, is something I want to do. Being an entrepreneur that is
studying carefully the rising market of elderly people seeking to upgrade their standard vehicle to a
mobility vehicle and selling it to them is something I am looking forward to. This segment of the
population is rising, now that the baby boomers are in their retirement years.
The article is old (10 years old), but the information is still relevant and the currency does not matter

Tactical Intelligence Essay
Abstract: In this real world, protecting the information of an organization that is present in a software
and hardware or data present on them is important. Here comes the point of Threat Intelligence, where
it recognises the disruption or misleading of the service provide by these data present on the software
and hardware in the form of accessing through network, code injection, data injection, hacking of the
sites, controlling through physical access or by any means of taking control over the data. Simply,
Threat intelligence is the set of data collected, assessed and applied regarding security threats, threat
actors, exploits, vulnerabilities and compromise indicators. It is usually presented in either the form of
strategic or tactical intelligence. Strategic intelligence involves broader and higher level abstracts of
data to identify threats and how the organization needs to react where Tactical intelligence involves
collecting the network information, analyzing it, identifying the threats and responding. By using of
this it makes cost effective to organization by reducing security incidents, which increases responsive
time by finding solution in a least possible time. It also shows the security incidents, attacks and
events. It provides decision support to the organization and possibly a strategic advantage. Threat
intelligence also involves series of steps which make the data to be gone through several phases

Vsevolod Meyerhold As A Theatre Practitioner Analysis
Vsevolod Meyerhold is a broadly known Russian theatre practitioner, who created and taught
Theatrical Biomechanics, which is both an acting technique and a production style (Baldwin, 1995: p.
181). Mostly because of Meyerhold s unique position as the leading Soviet avant garde director, his
Biomechanics received wide attention in the beginning of the XXI century (Law, 1995: p. 1).
However, if Meyerhold was influenced by Commedia dell arte at first and after the Revolution by
Taylor s scientific management while designing his technique (Gordon, 2005), can he be named an
innovator? Can a practice be innovative without being revolutionary? This essay will focus on
Vsevolod Meyerhold as a theatre practitioner, critically analysing the extent to which his practice can
be considered innovative . It will discuss the concept of innovation , ... Show more content on

It is highly important to define a word innovation from the question, as depending on how we
understand it, the whole meaning of the question changes, which causes the final conclusion to be
completely different. According to Collins English Dictionary, innovation means something newly
introduced, such as a new method or device . The synonyms that it provides to this word are:
revolution, introduction, newness, novelty, etc. . At the same time, it offers the translation of
innovation to Russian нововведение which literally translated as newly introduced (no date). Hence,
we can see that innovation, by its meaning, is really close to invention or revolution. How can this
affect the question, can be asked? If innovation is a revolution, it means that it has to be wholly
original, without drawing on precedents or not be based on any other movements or practices. It is
hard to find any examples of this kind of innovative because you have to be entirely and physically

Life s Little Treasures Preschool
Philosophy Statement
At Life s Little Treasures Preschool, we believe that play is a fundamental part of your child s
upbringing, and recognise that there is a symbiotic relationship between place, learning and
development (Fleer, 2013, p. 184), which is greatest supported through our natural environments and a
sociocultural philosophy of Early Childhood Education inspired by Lev Vygotsky (Berk, 2006).
Our preschool s outdoor play area provides limitless opportunities for your children to learn through
play, whilst acquiring respect and an appreciation for nature and their environment, working towards
and achieving all five Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) Outcomes (Australian Department of
Education, Employment and Workplace, [ADEEW] , 2009)
At our center we strongly encourage both family and community members to actively involve
themselves in our outdoor play areas as much as they can. This in turn will help with the development
of your child s sense of belonging, being and becoming (ADEEW, 2009) which is vital for growth and
development formation but in addition willl also strengthen their play experience, feeling of wellbeing
and overall learning (Australian Children s Education Care Quality Authority [ACECQA, 2013,
standard 6).
Child Safety
Keeping children safe in our outdoor learning area is a top priority. All children have the right to
experience high quality education and care, in a learning environment that provides for their

Kids Should Not Be Allowed To Wear Uniforms In Schools
Many schools each year are gradually turning towards the use of school uniforms. Statistics show that
5% of schools worldwide are starting to take use in having school uniforms. I believe that schools
should have uniforms because it limits kids to getting bullied, parents don t have to worry if their kids
have name brand clothing or not, and the school doesn t have to worry about kids dressing
inappropriately.
In case, you didn t know, more than half of the kids who don t wear uniforms to school get bullied
every day. If kids wear uniforms to school it decreases their chance at getting bullied about the clothes
they wear. Although most kids don t like the fact that they have to match every other kid, however,
even matching eliminates the chance for you to get bullied. Any ... Show more content on

Most kids are late getting to school because they do not know what to wear. If schools get uniforms it
will reduce the amount of kids showing late up late to school every day. Also, teachers won t have to
stress about kids wearing inappropriate clothing to school if they have to wear uniforms. Although,
kids like to express themselves by the clothes they wear, having school uniforms decreases the chance
of kids showing up late to school and dressing inappropriately. If schools who have uniforms came up
with a way for kids to express themselves, uniforms wouldn t be as bad.
All things considered, I think every school should have uniforms. Although, not very many schools
have uniforms now, this can be the first of many steps to end bullying, they can help the parents save
money, and they will stop kids from dressing inappropriately. After considering all the solutions that
can impact your students in positive ways, schools should consider having uniforms. School uniforms

Reflection On These Matters Always Brings A Gentle Smile...
He wrote this poem on February 2nd, in 1989 and to me the poem means that we are all just human
and it is okay that we make mistakes. It just means we learn from them and that there is always
someone to lean on when we need them or even when we do not want to hear them. I see his poem as
wisdom and guidance for his family and for any generation that comes across its path. On September
18th, 1989, my great uncle Dick wrote about his father. Reflection on these matters always brings a
gentle smile to my frame of mind for dad issued but too often failed to follow (Thoughts, 30). I feel
that he is saying that for every life event that occurs in our lives we have to be open to learn from
them and look back on them so that we can grow. I think it is interesting how he relates life listens and
reflects on his experiences through out his life as well as how he mentions his dad. I believe he is
recording information he sees as important and worthy of being recorded in our family s genealogic
history. On September 24th, 1989, he wrote, As one ages and begins to suffer some of the
consequences of adding years, memory projects us backward to an age of keener vision, more
abundant hair, finer reflexes, and less awareness of joints (Thoughts, 39). In this quote he is again
reflecting on his life but more in a physical way. He notes how age affects the body and mind. I find it
interesting that he chooses to write about this topic in such a descriptive way. It made me think of my

Williams, who prepared and tested numerous titles for the work. Eventually, the completed play
opened on December 3, 1947 in New York City staring Marlon Brando as Stanley Kowalski and
directed by Elia Kazan. This run of Streetcar lasted 855 performances until 1949 and won Williams a
Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award. Later, in 1951, the film version was

She spends most of the first scene talking down to Stella, mentioning that she looks as if she s put on

in rhinestone crowns, fluffy bodices and pearl necklaces and earrings. Her wardrobe appears to be
filled with clothing that s either white or and pastels, colors that one easily associates with purity.
Yet, she is capable of manipulation and adept at spinning lies as clearly evidenced by her constant lies
about a Mr. Shep Huntleigh, who does not really exist, or her lies about being on a leave of absence.
This is also clear based on her manipulation of Mitch, played by Karl Malden, into making him fall

Torrent Downloads is Piracy
Torrent Downloads
Is copying a digital content and sharing it online count as a crime? Most people will answer No
because people will think they are just copying the same file that they already bought the licenses for
and sharing it to their friends, however, it is going against the copyright law if the company attached a
legal document to inform the user they could not share it for each digital content. Torrent downloads
or what is known on the web Pirate Downloads, works by having a user seeding a particular content to

governments. Pirate download are becoming threat to media production companies, companies loss

always be the first source to download the digital content.
When I speak about piracy, I mean the act of copying and sharing data online videos, software, music

The Impact Of Reporting On Foodborne Diseases
The Impact of Reporting on Foodborne Diseases
Abstract ( 300 words): Foodborne diseases result from the ingestion of over 200 pathogens, chemicals,
and parasites, which are contaminated in foods and food products at different points in the food
production and preparation process. 1 The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) is tracks
foodborne diseases through reports from state and local health departments and various surveillance
systems. Though there have been many methods of control and prevention within food safety laws,
there are high chances of underreporting incidents of foodborne diseases. Foodborne illnesses can be
severe or even fatal; milder cases are often not detected through routine surveillance.12 Medical
professionals, health departments, and laboratories play key roles in identifying foodborne diseases
and their sources and reporting them through surveillance systems. Also, some agents transmitted
commonly through food (e.g., norovirus) are not monitored by certain surveillance systems because
clinical laboratories do not routinely test for them. Most foodborne diseases can be prevented, and
progress has been made in decreasing contamination of some foods and reducing illness caused by
pathogens, but much remains to be done.4
Introduction:
The Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture and health departments
all over the nation take food safety regulation seriously and are attempting to reduce foodborne

Child Abuse and Neglect in the United States David is a 10 years old boy doing his homework at the

question, and memorizing the 50 Capitals of the United States. All the assignments for homework
were due on Friday morning, so he quickly finished his homework so he could get to bed. Around
10:00 pm, David s father came home from work, checked his son s homework and saw many errors.
He immediately went up to David s bedroom and kicked open the door. Yelling at David, You see this
homework, you have many mistakes in math, your answers to your short readings are not correct and
you did get all the 50 capitals right!!, you are worthless, stupid, and a big mistake of being born.
David s father then proceeded to hit him with a wire hanger in both legs, and arms, the face and on his
buttocks. David s dad yelled again Tomorrow morning when you get up, you will not eat breakfast and
go to school hungry!! David cried the rest of the night, hurting in pain, then eventually falling asleep.

Analysis Of Charles Dicken In Great Expectations
Charles Dicken was a white, Christian man who ripped and tore his way up the social hierarchy, who
turned his grimy rags into eternal riches. The fruit of his labor has been transcribed into dialects and
languages that transcend Anglo Saxon society. He is crowned a prince of Victorian literature and the
cerulean sapphire on his crown is his Great Expectations, a bildungsroman at its finest. First published
by Chapman and Hall in 1861, it follows a boy s transformation into a man in a rotting industrial
world. In the end, however, Great Expectations is a novel that exposes the incorporeal essence s
ability to decay but also its resilience, its ability to change: even if a sentient being is barren of
emotion, it can still bloom in the midnight sun. Pip is an orphan, bred in a land of thunderous skies
and wetlands. He found his smile running through the emerald grass and his frown at his parent s
headstones. This countryside was his womb, a misty bog that fed him and tucked him into bed at
night. Indeed, Pip himself wails that he had seen the damp lying on the outside of [his] little window,

Johnny Appleseed Essay
The legend of Johnny Appleseed developed from the historical account of John Chapman because the
two characters have many similarities in their traits and their journey. Basically, Johnny Appleseed and
Jonathan Chapman are the same people, but the legend exaggerates his character traits, and the
historical accounts state the facts about him. In both accounts, he is very religious because he has his
Bible, which shows Christian belief, with him. The two people also plant apple trees throughout the
frontiers of America. Johnny Appleseed/John Chapman endured many hardships, but Johnny
Appleseed endured more difficulties than John Chapman. Therefore, the legend of Johnny Appleseed
is an exaggeration of the historical account of John Chapman.

Nasa s Space Exploration

fully. When attempted, the general public describes it as an area in, which Earth exists and is made up
of solar systems consisting of a sun and planets. But nowadays, space has turned into so much more;
with recent discoveries space can be seen as a living system in which there is a possibility that other
life besides humanity is present. In the past space travel was said to only be able to send drones or

One of the arguments comes from conservative people of various faiths. Their argument follows the
belief that God only created one planet of life, causing any scientific theories related to life outside of
Earth to be rejected, since it would disprove the belief that God created Earth. Another argument is
that the money used to fund NASA s space exploration could be used in a better way. According to
Piers Bizony, I have for some time considered space research a gross waste of money, time and effort
that could be much better applied to the management of our own planet. (9) This argument is
understandable however the fact that global warming, and rainforests depleting is occurring provides
more of an incentive in finding another planet with life. It would allow for a rebirth and have the
world start over, since both of the effects are a caused by humanity s daily lives. A third argument is
that the Earth has not even been fully discovered yet so it makes no sense to explore outside of it.

come from continued stable life on Earth, and that a vast new program of travel into space will lead to

US Income Tax Case Study
The United States enacted IRC 385 in 1969, which gave tax authorities the power to determine if
intercompany loans were, in substance, equity investments. The tax authorities believed then that
characterising intercompany loans as equity would resolve the thin capitalisation issue. If the IRS
could deem intercompany loans to be investments, it could treat the interest payments as dividends,
which are not tax deductible. However, the tax authorities eventually determined these tools were
inadequate. In 1989, Congress enacted (IRC) section 163(j) to address the concern of US earnings
being stripped out in the form of interest payments on debt by a U.S. subsidiary to its foreign parent
company. The concern was that the U.S. subsidiary would receive a U.S. tax deduction that reduces its
U.S. taxable income while the interest paid to the foreign based parent corporation may not be subject
to U.S. withholding tax (or subject to a reduced rate) under various income tax treaties.

where mankind came from. In almost all societies and religions there are stories told of how the world
began, these stories are known as creation stories or creation myths. Creation myths can give those
reading them a better understanding of the values within the culture that they were created. The myth
of creation explains the origin of the universe, describing how the world and its animate and inanimate
entities were created (El Asward, Garry, El Shamy, 2005, p.24 31). A major similarity in each of the
different creation stories is the idea of water as the elemental source of life. For example, in ancient
Egypt a hill emerges from the waters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like most creation myths the Egyptian myths also tell a story of the beginning of time to human
existence. In the beginning, it is understood that there is only water, the Egyptians called the Nun. Nun
is unorganized chaos, nothingness, or a formless mass without structure (El Asward, Garry, El Shamy,
2005, p.24 31). Out of Nun came Atum, the first god. With no place for him to rise he forms a hill,
also known as a conical scrap of land. Realizing how lonely he was Atum mated with himself two
have two children. These children were Shu (the god of air) and Tefnut (the goddess of moisture).
Tefnut provided the principles of order to the world and Shu gave the principles of life. The two left
their father to go an establish the world. Since they had been gone so long Atum became worried and
removed his eye and sent it in search of his children. When She and Tefnut returned with his eye,
Atum was so grateful that he wept tears of joy. These tears gave birth to men and women. After many
years Atum became frail and the men of the earth started to plot against him. Realizing these plots
Atum and a council of gods decided that the men should be destroyed. The goddess Hatro was sent to
wipe out mankind, of this task she was very successful. Once only a small amount remained Atum
relented and decided to spare them. Water is a

The Mass Of Broadcast Journalism
Many aspiring Mass Communications majors find themselves intrigued and hopeful by the medium of
Broadcast Journalism. Young students imagine themselves on television speaking to the public about
the everyday happenings around the community. However, as other growing mediums emerge,
Broadcast Journalism is a dwindling in viewership, especially with the younger generation. For my
field research, I had the pleasure of interviewing Christian Schaffer. The newest co anchor of Good
Morning Maryland on ABC 2 News in Baltimore. Broadcast news is a medium that is thrilling,
exciting, and fast paced. Schaffer took time out of his action filled day to allow me to interview him
and get inside his everyday world of reporting and action.

When everything is finished for the day he usually heads home to rest before starting his 3am shift the
next morning.
Schaffer graduated from Richmond University over twenty years ago with a bachelor in Journalism.
He then started as a news producer in Richmond, Virginia and moved to Greensboro, North Carolina
and Boston, Massachusetts the following ten years. During this time, he also finished his Masters in
Broadcast Journalism at Boston University. Schaffer s first on camera reporting job occurred in
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at WHP TV CBS which set the basis for what he enjoys doing the most in
journalism. Ten years ago, Schaffer landed a job reporting in Baltimore at ABC 2 News and then six
months ago took over as the co anchor of the morning news this year. When the internal job posting
opened, Schaffer used his time with the company and sought after the co anchor position. He went
through a series of try outs for a few months before being offered a three year contract as the Good
Morning Maryland ABC 2 News co anchor. Schaffer enjoyed being behind the scenes as a reporter but
found a new passion for on air broadcast. After initially being nervous about being on the spot as a
news anchor, he quickly let it go so he could develop his on air charisma to fit with ABC 2 News.

Characteristics Of Shaping The Colonies
Shaping the Colonies
Within a span of 300 years, Europe found itself bombarded by domestic disputes and expansionist
curiosity. From the initial expedition by Christopher Columbus in 1492 having sparked European
interests in the Americas, a beacon of freedom sparked the minds of iconoclasts who sought the new
land during a period of time marked by religious tyranny, ongoing wars, and the greed for resources.
Colonial America from the sixteenth to seventeenth centuries was shaped by the hunger for freedom
from the English monarchy in terms of worship and self government.
In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue... Indians! Indians! Columbus cried; His heart was filled with
joyful pride. But India the land was not... The primary school song celebrates the Spanish explorer but
detracts from the motive behind the joyful pride. The fifteenth century was the beginning of the Age of
Exploration for the Portuguese, who dominated international trade by the sixteenth century. The allure
of South African gold, slaves, and ivory and the rich spices and gold of India tempted the Spanish, the
English, the French, and the Dutch to compete in the race for global riches. Christopher Columbus
responded to the opportunity after Ferdinand II of Aragon and Isabella of Castile exiled 200,000 Jews
and defeated the last of Muslim forces in Granada to restore Christianity in Spain during the Spanish
Inquisition. With the Spanish monarchy re establishing control over the nation, which was the

The Issue Of Illegal Immigrants
No matter what a person s ethnicity or race may be, every person has thoughts, feelings, values,
aspirations, needs, and desires. People are uncomfortable if someone else s values and culture are
different from their own. The term for a group or community fearing another person s perspective and
lifestyle is called ethnocentrism. Ethnocentrism is the reason that American citizen s highly debate and
criticize illegal immigration, arguing that illegal immigrants are drug addicted thieves who thrive off
of stealing American s jobs and harming the United States labor force and the economy. As the
immigration rate progressively rise s it simultaneously concerns those who favor strict immigration
laws and believe that illegal immigrants are harming the United States. However, these assumptions
are hardly fact based and people fail to acknowledge that immigrants are human beings who only want
to help and support their families. The reality is that without illegal immigrants, the United States
would economically suffer.
Actual data shows that immigration has a generally positive impact on a county s economy, what with
immigrants doing work, paying taxes, spending their money in the country and all that. Even parts of
our infrastructure on which the economy depends are owned by foreigners. Places where strong anti
immigrant policies have been enacted usually suffer economic downturns as a result. It seems like
stopping immigration to improve the economy is like hacking your foot

Trickery in Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass by...
Humans are natural tricksters, beguiling others for benefits and survival; however, deceiving others is
a skill possessed by few African Americans and thus they do not survive. In Narrative of the Life of
Frederick Douglass by Frederick Douglass, Douglass harnesses the ability to conform to the world of
trickery and conveys his journey to freedom. Through his appeal to pathos, use of dramatic asides, and
application of anecdotes, Douglass expresses the necessity of slaves to play the game of trickery to
survive in the world of tricksters. Effectively establishing an appeal to pathos, Douglass emphasize his
raw emotions to the reader, allowing the reader to feel more connected to why Douglass complies with
the rules of trickery. Douglass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When his term with Mr. Edward Covey ends on 25 December 1833, Douglass reveals a feeling of
disgrace when he is appalled by the slaveholders who are forcing the slaves to drink wine and
whiskey, since it was a disgrace not to get drunk on Christmas (44) and, when the Christmas holidays
end, the slaves, who the slaveholder cheats... with a dose of vicious dissipation, artfully labelled...
liberty, are willing to go back to work, choosing to rather be slaves to man as to rum. (45). While the
slaveholders capitalizes on the slave s ignorance and negligence to play the game of trickery, Douglass
exposes his detestation of the course of action for the cunning slaveholders (45). Later, as Douglass
appeals to a feeling of disappointment when he meets Henry and John Harris and utilizes their
yearning of freedom to attempt escaping, but fail. As MacKethan puts it, the American definition of
man and the American concept of freedom could no longer be denied to... [Douglass]... or by logical
extension to any other slave ( From Fugitive ). In summary, MacKethan attempt to reveal the
inhumanity of the slaves by hinting

Homeschooling And A Traditional Public Education
Parenting does not come with a guide, but the decisions made by parents are essential to shaping a
child s future. One of the most significant decisions to be made is choosing the child s educational
plans. The only options that are available are homeschooling or a traditional public education. While
there are a few options, the choice has to be assessed properly. The dilemmas placed before parents
are the lack of knowledge for an education taught within a home setting or the lack of a proper
environment within a traditional school setting.
There are many facets of homeschooling that people may not know. In order to understand the concept
of homeschooling, it is important to define the term and point out its origin. Homeschooling is a
nonpublic school directed mainly by the parent of guardian. Formal learning began at home with
parents teaching their children domesticated skills and morals. The home based education system
changed in 1642 when the Massachusetts Bay Colony passed a law requiring children to be taught to
read by parents. As time progressed, laws were made to change the teaching environment. Families
were required to form grammar schools. Public school became mandatory in the 19th century when
individual states started passing compulsory schooling laws. These laws require parents to send their
children to a public or state accredited private or parochial school. The majority of the states required
children to begin school at ages five to seven years old and

From the boy s perspective, we can clearly see his emotional dissatisfaction as he states, he was bored with this potion (12). Espada s comparison of Coca Cola to potion suggests that the people of Puerto Rico are deeply mesmerized by American products, and that they are incapable of recognizing the copious amounts of goods that Puerto Rico has to offer to its people. Causes And Effects Of Poverty And Homeless People Jazonte Mcnatt Philbrook English IV 11/6/14 NC Graduation Project In North Carolina the problem that is needed to be addressed is poverty and homeless people throughout the entire state. Some of the problems the are leading causes to poverty and homeless people is unemployment, which is leading to less to none employment opportunities Leading Causes of Poverty , and income disparity which is leading to many families to not be able to pay bills, buy, or manage income. With the current issue of the causes and effects of poverty and Homelessness in North Carolina, I had to complete community service hours at the Hoke Emergency Liaison Program or H.E.L.P to see the issue first hand. The Organization has had many years dealing with the big issue to this very and is still going to make sure they can help every person they can and to get rid of homelessness and poverty. What is poverty? Poverty can have all different meanings to everybody. For example The World Bank organization believe poverty is not having enough money to meet basic needs including food, clothing and shelter. Also In addition to a lack of money, poverty is about not being able to participate in recreational activities, not being able to send children on a day trip with their schoolmates or to a birthday party, and not being able to pay for medications for an illness. This path is called heroic monomyth in which the hero undergoes many tasks and is most likely accompanied by a friend and meets new trials along the way. In the novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone by J.K. Rowling, the character Harry Potter displays multiple counts of heroic monomyth through the call to adventure, supernatural aid, and crossing the threshold. In the novel, the call to adventure is present in multiple ways. First, an unusual letter shows up at the Dursley s home one day. This letter, unlike all of the other letters and various mail, was addressed to Harry Potter. Yet here it was, a letter, addressed so plainly there could be no mistake... (Rowling 34). Potter tells them that it is okay if they want to stay behind and maybe they even should, but Weasley contradicts Potter by saying, Oh, come off it, you don t think we d let you go alone (Rowling 271). Introduction Mathematica Policy Research (MPR) and two consultants, Leigh Linden and Harounan Kazianga, conducted an independent evaluation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation s (MCC) two year threshold compact in Burkina Faso, which was aimed at increasing educational attainment for primary aged girls. The goal of the Burkinabé Response to Improve Girls Chances to Succeed (BRIGHT) program, implemented from 2005 to 2008, was to improve the educational outcomes of primary school students by targeting enrollment rates, and math and French scores. MPR et al (2009) evaluated whether or not the impact was the same for both boys and girls. Key findings of the BRIGHT intervention include: (1) primary student enrollment increased by 20 percentage points, (2) math and French test scores increased by 0.4 standard deviations, and (3) a positive impact for both boys and girls. Program Background Desite mandatory school enrollment and free primary schools, Burkina Fas still has some of the lowest primary school enrollment rates in West Africa. Prior to BRIGHT, the national government began pushing primary school enrollment by constructing new schools and implementing various new programs. Gross enrollment increased from 12 percent in 1970 to 56 percent in 2005; however, these numbers did not show the urban rural disparities. BRIGHT was designed to increase school enrollment and improve the educational attainment of primary school children in villages where girls enrollment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When the minister first walks out of his home wearing the veil, everyone is astonished. This one man in this village decides to be a nonconformist and wear this veil without explanation. No one understands why the minister would wear such a veil for no reason at all. This is where all the assumptions begin to linger. All of the villagers have a story for why the veil is there. (1281) In reality the veil represents the secrets everyone is hiding within themselves. The unifying theme is the conflict between the dark, hidden side of man and the standards imposed by his puritanical heritage. Hawthorne brings evil and unauthorized desire into the way of puritan life, and in so doing suggests a insightful truth that is disturbing in its implication, that is to say that we can never hope to know each other s true selves. The themes in the story are suggested by the veil symbol, the tension between the minister and the community. Every person has something to hide from the world. The veil is symbolic for the cover up of peoples secrets. Although most people would not wear a veil, the minister is proving a point. By wearing a simple black veil Mr. Hooper is making all the villagers evaluate their everyday actions in life. The symbolic value of the black veil lies in the physical and mental dilemma that it creates between the minister and his environment, and the guilt it conveys. Many people believe that the face provides information about a person s primary characteristics, therefore, predicting a persons possible behavior. As a result, by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The overlap of elements appeals to readers who are accustomed to Biblical language while simultaneously engaging with their imaginative experience of a secular world, an expression that is observed in the epic poem Beowulf. Commonly cited as one of the most important works of Old English literature, the poem provides valuable insight into a culture that resembles our own societal challenges while simultaneously remaining distant from the present day world. This analytical essay will focus on the strategic use of words and phrases and how the poets emphasis on religious association invokes the answers to many central human perplexities. Through its use of repetitive elements and various motifs within Christian and pagan values, the poet builds on the many elements within virtuous philosophy. Although many analytical dissertations interpret the influence that Beowulf s diction has on Christian ideals, it is critical to examine how the poem s religious expression affects its pagan characters. Many literary works incorporate stock elements to continuously keep their readers engaged in the purpose of its context. Sulfide mining has been stereotyped as a major pollutant to nearby waterways. Due to the energy expended by the water in order to dissolve these crystals, the water becomes colder. Chemical Reaction Ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3), is classified as a salt. The salt family of chemicals contains ions, which are particles with electrical charges. Due to the fact that opposite polarity ions attract each other, they form a solid crystal that is called salt. It just means we learn from them and that there is always someone to lean on when we need them or even when we do not want to hear them. I see his poem as wisdom and guidance for his family and for any generation that comes across its path. On September 18th, 1989, my great uncle Dick wrote about his father. Reflection on these matters always brings a gentle smile to my frame of mind for dad issued but too often failed to follow (Thoughts, 30). I feel that he is saying that for every life event that occurs in our lives we have to be open to learn from them and look back on them so that we can grow. I think it is interesting how he relates life listens and reflects on his experiences through out his life as well as how he mentions his dad. Most people will answer No because people will think they are just copying the same file that they already bought the licenses for and sharing it to their friends, however, it is going against the copyright law if the company attached a legal document to inform the user they could not share it for each digital content. The Impact Of Reporting On Foodborne Diseases The Impact of Reporting on Foodborne Diseases Abstract ( 300 words): Foodborne diseases result from the ingestion of over 200 pathogens, chemicals, and parasites, which are contaminated in foods and food products at different points in the food production and preparation process. 1 The Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) is tracks foodborne diseases through reports from state and local health departments and various surveillance systems. Though there have been many methods of control and prevention within food safety laws, there are high chances of underreporting incidents of foodborne diseases. Foodborne illnesses can be severe or even fatal; milder cases are often not detected through routine surveillance.12 Medical professionals, health departments, and laboratories play key roles in identifying foodborne diseases and their sources and reporting them through surveillance systems. Also, some agents transmitted commonly through food (e.g., norovirus) are not monitored by certain surveillance systems because clinical laboratories do not routinely test for them. Most foodborne diseases can be prevented, and progress has been made in decreasing contamination of some foods and reducing illness caused by pathogens, but much remains to be done.4 Introduction: The Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture and health departments all over the nation take food safety regulation seriously and are attempting to reduce foodborne diseases on a ... According to Piers Bizony, I have for some time considered space research a gross waste of money, time and effort that could be much better applied to the management of our own planet. • 40. US Income Tax Case Study The United States enacted IRC 385 in 1969, which gave tax authorities the power to determine if intercompany loans were, in substance, equity investments. The tax authorities believed then that characterising intercompany loans as equity would resolve the thin capitalisation issue. If the IRS could deem intercompany loans to be investments, it could treat the interest payments as dividends, which are not tax deductible. However, the tax authorities eventually determined these tools were inadequate. In 1989, Congress enacted (IRC) section 163(j) to address the concern of US earnings being stripped out in the form of interest payments on debt by a U.S. subsidiary to its foreign parent company. The concern was that the U.S. subsidiary would receive a U.S. tax deduction that reduces its U.S. taxable income while the interest paid to the foreign based parent corporation may not be subject to U.S. withholding tax (or subject to a reduced rate) under various income tax treaties.
