Communication Challenges Among Cross Cultural Setting And...
Understanding the communication challenges among cross cultural setting and offshore teams and
understanding the ways to minimize the challenges will help everyone to reduce communication
issues and increase performance. Many US based companies are utilizing the teams from India and
china to reduce the product development cost. While reducing the cost, using offshore teams, they face
multiple cross cultural issues. Management needs to understand these kinds of issues and way to solve
or mitigate the risk. Knowledge of cross cultural teams and various ways to communicate effectively
will help minimize the miscommunication issues and help understand the cross cultural teams.
Multiple researches have been done on how the people from various cultures communicate. Particular
societies tend to have distinct ways of working, and they can prove problematic when attempting cross
border collaboration. For example, Indian software companies have found they need to approach
communication with U.S. and Japanese clients in very different ways. U.S. client companies normally
work with extensive written agreements and explicit documentation, reinforced with frequent and
informal telephone and email contact. In contrast, Japanese clients tend to prefer verbal
communication, more tacit and continuously negotiated agreements, and less frequent but more formal
use of electronic media (Krishna, Sahay Walsham, 2004). This means we cannot generalize how
people prefer to communicate. It depends

Imperialism In Nigeria
The history of Nigeria has been reshaped and affected by the presence of external sources interfering
with Nigerian culture and tradition. Europeans often colonized Nigeria for its central role in the slave
trade, as well as for land and valuable resources. In particular, British occupation and Imperialization
has had a significant impact on the country s history. Colonization benefited the Nigerian people
considerably, allowing the British to then likewise benefit. The British did manage to create for
themselves a hefty profit, and the Nigerian people did also reap the benefits of British colonization.
However, the British did not always rule justly and fairly, eventually leading to the collapse of British
influence in Nigeria.
The country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, directly after the British took control of Nigeria they split it up into two territories, the
Protectorate of Northern Nigeria and the Protectorate of Southern Nigeria. This creates a country that
is literally divided, increasing political and ethnic tensions. This system of governing Nigeria had built
in contradictions, forcing the Nigerian government into a sophisticated form of local government.
While colonization encouraged industry in Nigeria it also forced many people in the country to
migrate to work elsewhere (Falola 17), away from their tribes and culture into more industrialized
cities. The British were constantly paranoid of a possible revolt from the Nigerian peoples, so to
prevent any united opposition to its authority, the British adopted a divide and conquer policy (Falola
40), keeping Nigerian groups separate from one another as much as possible. This only increased the
amount of tribal and cultural diversity, which during this time period usually resulted in disagreements
leading to war. Western culture and education by Christian missionaries was not always accepted, it
often was strongly resisted by Muslim leaders (Falola 67), again only creating additional problems
among the peoples. Because Western education and Christianity spread rapidly in the south and not

Winston Churchill s Role In WWII
Never was so much owed by so many, to so few. said Sir Winston S. Churchill, August 20th, 1940, in
one of his most famous speeches. Although the English Royal Air Force is no longer fighting Nazi
Germany in WWII, these words still relate to Winston Churchill today. How can a single person
inspire so many? Over his 91 years of life Winston has shown great heroism. Churchill proves his
courage during WWI and WWII. He has been incredibly determined when he reached 19 different
political positions, including prime minister (highest government position) twice. He had also been
known for many famous paintings and winning a Nobel Prize in literature, demonstrating his wisdom.
Winston Churchill had lead Great Britain to victory in both WWI and WWII. He also had many other
military victories, albeit much smaller. In 1875 Churchill joined the British Army at the age of 21. He
was assigned to the Cavalry and fought in the Mahdist, 2nd Boer, Sudan, and Indian wars. Winston
left the army in 1899 to become a writer and politician. On a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hitler had control over 94% of Europe, some of Africa and South America, and a large portion of
Asia. There where also 13 million Nazi soldiers, compared to England s 3.5 million. Winston should
have lost, statistically, but never stopped fighting, leading Great Britain to victory.
Winston was also honoured with the most prestigious order of chivalry. He was appointed as a Knight
of the Garter, or formerly titled as Most Noble Order of the Garter. There may only be 24 members
and you remain until you are removed or die. Winston also became Prime Minister twice, a great
achievement. For those of you that don t know what this entails the Prime Minister is basically the
president of England. They remain Prime Minister for five years and than can be reelected. For them
to be elected twice is very uncommon and it took much determination for him to not give

The Pros and Cons of an Unwritten Constitution in the UK...
The Advantages and Disadvantages of an Unwritten Constitution in the UK
The UK has an unwritten constitution unlike the U.S.A. Instead Britain s laws, policies and codes are
developed through statutes, common law, convention and more recently E.U law. It is misleading to
call the British constitution unwritten; a more precise form of classification would be un codified. This
means that the British constitution has no single document, which states principles and rules of a state.
However, The British constitution clearly sets out how political power is allocated and where it is
legally located. The British constitution is still visible and it defines composition and powers of the
main offices and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this is the in corporation of E.U laws into UK laws. Since parliament passed the
European communities Act in 1972 Britain has accepted the superiority of European law. The House
of Lords has judged certain English laws to be unlawful in light of EU legislation.
Another advantage of an unwritten or un codified constitution is that it is evolutionary because it
develops with historical changes. An example of this is when parliament in the UK took total
sovereignty away from the monarchy in 1867. Changes to the British constitution reflect a changing
balance of power. The constitution is important even though it is not written form because it formed
the basis of the separation of power that we now have, for example between the Lords and the
Commons. This also shows the flexibility of the constitution.
An advantage of the UK constitution is that it takes into account of changing views. For example, in
1997 the changing of the hereditary peer system and also further reforms to change the structure of
parliament. It is good that the British constitution will always takes into account these changes.
However, there are disadvantages to an un written constitution. A written constitution is considered the
highest form of law and is respected because of this. There is no such principle in the British
constitution because sovereignty lies with Parliament.

Compare And Contrast College Football And Pro Football
Many of the fans think college football is better than pro football, but I think this is not true. Each of
the programs have differences and we should respect this, but they also have similarities as well. They
also have rules which the players have to follow. Although the penalties are severe, the nfl and college
football, have the same rules which many of the players think are fair. Also, many of the players
respect the history behind it and encourage other players to do the same.
Many of the rules which are the same are significant and should be followed by both the pro football
players and the college players. Holding penalties for the defence are both ten yards from the last dead
ball spot and a first down for the offence, or on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When a team and another team tie the game, they have what is called overtime. In this period, the first
team who scores a touchdown before the other team does, wins the game. Both teams have three
timeouts, and has a chance to touch the football and try to score a touchdown. This situation is led off
of a coin flip which decides what team gets the football first.
There are some similarities about the stadiums which host the team who is playing another(away)
team. Most stadiums have a hall of fame or a historic piece of history which stands today. Many of
these stadiums are very expensive and many are asking why they have the stadiums in the first place.
The length of each football field are one hundred yards and have two end zones, which you get points
when one person walks or runs into it.
Next, is the differences. One of the differences is about the rules. One of the rules is when the players
take drugs when the doctor did not prescribe it to them, it is an offence. The penalty for college is ban
for more than three games, and for pro football, it is four or more games. Many of the pro football
players get paid and the college football players do not get paid at all, because they are in school and
they can t do anything to get paid for just playing

Abstract
Qualitative data such as Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) are under constant scrutiny by
Quantitative researchers looking for legitimacy. Elliot et al., 1999, were able to provide this legitimacy
by creating seven key guidelines; owning one s perspective, situating the sample, grounding in

Fischer, C, T,. Rennie, D, L,. 1999). Elliot et al. (1999) were such researchers, who were successful in
creating seven key guidelines that can be utilised in any qualitative research. These guidelines are as
follows, owning one s perspective, situating the sample, grounding in examples, providing credibility
checks, coherence, accomplishing general versus specific research tasks and resonating with the
reader. Further detail will be discussed in relation to these guidelines during the following evaluation.
Attention will also be paid to how these guidelines can be applied to IPA analysis.
Main Body
The article, Understanding feelings of anger using IPA (Smith Eatough, 2006), has two key focus
areas. Firstly is the use of IPA. Secondly is the understanding and interpretation of anger as
experienced by the individual. Throughout the article, each section explains how the method, IPA is
utilised. The purpose of the article is to illuminate how ..., anger, emotion related feelings, thoughts
and expressions appear to the individual (Smith Eatough, 2006). They argued that emotions are more
often than not, world focused and proposed that a holistic approach was required to fully understand
this phenomenon. This was studied as a single sample, case study. Data was analysed using IPA with
results showing anger

Søren Kierkegaard
People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom
use. Lets go back to when men valued thought, for they valued its effect on the world, lets go back and
take a look at the father of Christian Existentialism, Søren Kierkegaard. Søren Kierkegaard was born
to a father who inflicted strict and rigorous religious teaching upon his children. His father felt this
was necessary because of his sinful habit that resulted in an affair with his 1st wife s maid.
Kierkegaard, after a broken engagement with his love, was handed over to a life of severe melancholy.
Yet as a result of both his personal pain and brilliant mind, a literary life few could surpass, and
wisdom of thought (does that make sense) ensued. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His answer was summarized in three words, Fear and Trembling. This is something that he spent an
immense amount of time answering, and his answers can be condensed into the example that he gave
from the Old Testament in the Bible. He gives Christians an example in which to follow, in the
patriarch Abraham. The example that Abraham gives, and we are to follow, is found in how Abraham
responds to the command to kill his son. For man, especially a father, this command is unfathomable,
yet because God wanted to test Abraham (give better reasoning), he told him to sacrifice his son.
Kierkegaard looks at Genesis 22:2, it says, He said, Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you
love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of
which I shall tell you. He notes the unbearable precision in the command, when God says take your
son, your only son Isaac, whom you love (emphasis added) Kierkegaard also takes a close look at the
beginning of the next verse, it says, So Abraham rose early in the morning. He notes that some men
take this excerpt to men that Abraham was rising early to faithfully carry out his duty. And while that
has some truth to it, it is not complete, Kierkegaard emphasizes the fact that he rose early, not because
he got a great night of sleep, rather that he wrestled with this command in

Analysis of Jonathan Swift´s A Modest Proposal Essay
Poverty has been a problem not only in Texas or the United States, but all over the world. Many types
of individuals have addressed this topic for years, raised money, volunteered, but still, as much as
there s said and done, the issue hasn t been fazed a bit. From Jonathan Swift s Modest Proposal, he
clarifies the poverty issued throughout Ireland in the early 1700 s and how one suggestion could
change it all. Elaborated from the Literary Reference Center, A Modest Proposal, like Gulliver s
Travels, transcends the political, social, and economic crisis that gave birth to it, woeful as they were.
Packed with irony and satirical revelations of the human condition... Swift wasn t just writing a
masterpiece, but an intended, informational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the audience continues to read The Modest Proposal, they see that maybe he isn t joking, that he
really wants to eat the babies and start a new fashion trend. To make things more believable, he states
times of the year when the babies are just right, they re not too done or underdone. Swift specifies that
the little ones fattened up would be delicacies at banquets, christenings, or any special celebration.
From the book itself, Swift states that, The skin that is left from the infants carcasses could be used for
ladies gloves and men s boots... the carcasses can be sold for a decent price to any and all. Many
kings, queens, higher lords, and upper class take this proposal as a suitable option. Some even tended
to make breeding farms for women to make scrumptious little darlings over and over again until their
time of birthing was done. Did this really happen, you say? Did it even fall through and decrease
poverty?
All in all, Swift addressed the issue in a way that no one would have thought. In the end, he wasn t
being serious about harvesting the little ones and digesting them, but simply letting everyone open
their eyes and see what was going around in their small community of Ireland. Some might say Swift
was sick, crazy, but he was simply genius. Using this strategic option created ways for people to set
forth and fix the problem. Just like himself,

romanticizing violence thereby freeing the typical genre from its old, preconceived stereotypes. The
main film stars three well known actors: Clint Eastwood (as William Munny), Morgan Freeman (as

directors, which included John Ford, Sergio Leone, and Don Siegel. Significantly, the first of these

An Explanation Of How Billing And Coding Works For...
B. An explanation of how billing and coding works for healthcare services
Medical billing and coding are two closely related aspects of the modern health care industry. Both
practices are involved in the immensely important reimbursement cycle, which ensures that health
care providers are paid for the services they perform. For the sake of simplicity, let s divide the two at
the moment and look at them as separate pieces of a larger process. We ll begin with medical coding.
Medical Coding Medical coding, at its most basic, is a little like translation. It s the coder s job to take
something that s written one way (a doctor s diagnosis, for example, or a prescription for a certain
medication) and translate it as accurately as possible into a numeric or alphanumeric code. For every
injury, diagnosis, and medical procedure, there is a corresponding code. There are thousands and
thousands of codes for medical procedures, outpatient procedures, and diagnoses. Let s start with a
quick example of medical coding in action. A patient walks into a doctor s office with a hacking
cough, high production of mucus or sputum, and a fever. A nurse asks the patient their symptoms and
performs some initial tests, and then the doctor examines the patient and diagnoses bronchitis. The
doctor then prescribes medication to the patient.
Every part of this visit is recorded by the doctor or someone in the healthcare provider s office. It s the
medical coder s job to translate every bit of relevant

Its being frequently used has made the exact definition of awareness been left undetermined.
Nevertheless, the term of awareness is perpetually accompanied with the level of knowledge, as seen
the studies of Aadam T. Aris (2012), Joyce K.H. Nga (2010) and Indrani R. Halady, 2010), or with
certain level of engagement in the practice (Faisal Talib, 2012), or recognition and assigning oneself to
the subject matter (Gudmundur Aevar Oddsson, 2010), or understanding and perception (Diana
Bowman, 2007), or exposure to subject without in depth knowledge (Donna Morrison, 2012) or even
relating awareness to the fact of knowing the existence of the subject matter, differentiating it from
knowledge (Akinniyi A. Adeleke, 2012). A research was also conducted to investigate a level of
awareness by asking the respondents to rate their performance as to prove their level of awareness
towards their physical activities, and this was even validated with heart rate monitors and
accelerometers (Stef P.J. Kremers, 2008). Appreciation on the other hand brings along a different
dimension. Superficially the term appreciate denotes liking and preferability. In Alain d Astous (2007),
he enjoined the meaning of appreciation with favoritism, attachment, probability to recommend to
others, high rated, love and pleasure. Besides that, Fagley (2012) in Adler and Fagley (2005) defined
appreciation as acknowledging meaning and value of something an

An Explication Of Sylvia Plath s Daddy
Sylvia Plath is a passionate poet, and her poem Daddy shows a broad range of emotions. She likes to
use her writing to let out all her delicate feelings and expresses how she feels in her poem Daddy. This
particular poem of hers is somewhat dark and leaves the person who reads this with a sense of
hopelessness and misery, the reader questions why the writer feels this way. The speaker of Sylvia
Plath s poem Daddy depicts that she both loves and dislikes her father.
By reading this poem, you can undertake that she is speaking about her affiliation with her father, for
the reason that the title states it. Her raw emotions of unhappiness and fury that are in this poem
portray this assumption pretty well. By interpreting this poem her father was a German refugee and

The poem also expresses diverse emotions such as anger, grief, depression, and some distress. There
are several imageries of oppression in her poem Daddy of Nazis, swastikas, barbed wires, fascists,
brutes, devils, and vampires are so frantic, imposing, and vituperative that the poem seems more out
of control that it truly is. (http://web.b.ebscohost.com.ezp.tccd.edu) In Plath s poem, it is clear that
these characteristics are fantasies, not for the ultimate and distinct purpose that they arise inside a text,
but because the sonnet addresses the production of imaginary as such. In this sense, I read Daddy as a
poem about its conditions of language and illusion production. Rather than casually produce
identification, it asks a question about identification, laying out one set of unbearable psychic
conditions under which such an identification with the Jew might take place.

The Models For Observational Learning
According to Bandura (Wortley, 2011), people acquire behaviour through a process of observation and
imitation called modelling. There are three main models for observational learning: familiar models in
which a person imitates the behaviour of a family member, subculture models in which a person
imitates the behaviour of a member of one s subculture, and symbolic models where an individual
imitates the behaviour represented symbolically through words and pictures such as television.
Furthermore, Bandura claimed that there were four factors required for the success of modelling:
attention, retention, reproduction, and reinforcement. First, an individual must show attention to a
model. The more attention shown depends on the frequency the ... Show more content on

Wortley (2011) proposes that children who are raised in abusive households are more likely to engage
in criminal activity. Familiar modelling also plays apart in Marys criminal behaviour. By the time
Mary ran away from home she was already shop lifting, carrying out petty thefts and engaging in
prostitution which concluded with her arrest for murder. Felson and Lane (2009) suggests that children
who have been physically or sexually abused learn to use violence as an acceptable way to resolve
their problems through modelling. Furthermore, Felson and Lane (2009) suggest that sexually abused
children are more likely to engage in prostitution and that physically abused children were more likely
to commit offences such as assault, murder, and robbery. In Marys case she was both physically and
sexually abused and did engage in prostitution as well as commit robbery and murder. Marys criminal
behaviour as well as her alcohol and drug abuse is mainly the result of the modelling influences of her
family and peers. The Social Cognitive Learning Theory argues that behaviour occurs not only as a
result of the environment but because of an individual s cognitive representation of that environment,
known as the S O R model (stimulus organism response). Wortley (2011) states that The Social

U01a1 Workplace Communication
On January 28, 1986, the whole country watched as the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded, killing
everyone on board. As with other major disasters in this country, you can ask any person where they
were and each one can account for that moment in time, reliving it like it was yesterday. While
everyone knows what happened, it was never made entirely clear why this tragedy happened and how
bad the breakdown in communication was behind it. Just as the memory of that disaster was fading

I believe that if engineers were adamant about their findings and their concern for the flight, the Flight
Center would have taken them seriously and delayed the flight until the engineers could properly
study the effects of temperatures on the o rings. It seemed to be the same sort of issue with the Space
Shuttle Columbia, where the individuals involved in testing and ensuring a safe take off and landing,
with all aspects of the Space Shuttle in best possible working order were not communicating
effectively. Because there was not proper testing and incomplete information on the foam insulation,
the shuttle was pushed to launching, resulting in the disaster. I believe the single most important
aspect of both disasters was the importance of funding to the NASA program, and the appearance of
the United States to be a forerunner in Space travel. If there was not such intense pressure on NASA to
perform and maintain its advancement in the Space Program there is a high probability that the lives
that were lost on both Space Shuttles could have been saved. As for a similar instance in my

This is also an issue because OCI can always lower the price of its own brand to create more sales.
Chin must think about who would spend more on PPI s brand when OCI has a similar quality for a
lower price?
Another issue is that there are many competitors out there. These competitors are hungry for business
and they are willing to undercut PPI s price and loose profit just for the business. She must look at
what the competitors are offering to the consumers so she can see if she can cut PPI s price down to
match the competitors price while continuing to maintain an acceptable profit.
Central Problem
After evaluating a number of issues that affect PPI it all comes to one central problem, how can Chin
keep OCI at a relevant level of sales without loosing business to competitors? This includes deciding
on the details of a contract, compromising company policy, forming a buying contract with OCI, and
considering other market options. Diane needs to present the benefits of contracting with OCI to the
president of PPI. He could then see what difference contracting could make and what can be lost if
deciding not to form a contract with OCI. This needs to be done by showing the contrast between
different implications for accepting and denying OCI s request while stressing benefits of contracting.
There is a chance for redesigning company policy if the presentation impresses the

Common Sense Explanations And The Explanations Of C....
In this essay I will be exploring the differences between common sense explanations and the
explanations of C. Wright Mills theory of The Sociological Imagination. Common sense is based on
people s personal experiences and their opinions, very often constructed from social norms and
generalised views. Whereas, the Sociological Imagination thought up by sociologist C. Wright Mills
(1959) is based on the ideas of thinking critically and skeptically, in order to think sociologically. He
wrote that in order to do this, we have to understand and grasp the link between current society and
history, personal troubles and public issues. There are three main parts to Sociological Imagination:
social structure, biography and history. In this essay I will set forth the ways in which each of these
approaches would explain the topic of sexuality. I consider sexuality to be an umbrella term for
various features, including sexual orientation, sexual activity, masculinity/femininity and gender roles.
Each of which will be looked at in this essay in order to explore the topic of sexuality in relation to
common sense and the Sociological Imagination.
Sexual orientation is commonly viewed as the term to describe an individual s attraction for others;
who they want to have sex with. This sexual attraction is what s commonly considered to be the
representative of their sexuality. The common sense approach to sexual orientation is well educated on
heterosexuality and the LGBT community. LGBT

I Got Like Sewing Needles
It was noon when I woke up. I woke up to honking, drumming, screaming, and clean air. Everything
was all blurry, and I saw enormous structures that looked like sewing needles. I pinched my arm,
hoping this was all a dream. To my surprise, it was not. At this point, I saw more clearly. And I saw
buildings alright; a great deal in fact! There was one huge building that was shaped like a pair of
rocket boots, and the rest of the buildings were scattered all across the area. The area was quite large,
almost the size of Manhattan, and the shape was quite like it as well. Oh how I love Manhattan. It s so
beautiful. Its culture and liveliness make an island like none other. Anyway, I started walking across
the bridge on which I was standing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I saw the complete opposite of what I had seen in the past few hours. I saw a four story rusty red brick
apartment that was worn out and covered in mildew. There were two cement buildings and an old
internet cafe. The stench was awful and unbearable. I felt goosebumps come up my arm as I stared
deep into the street. As I stood, a drop of filthy water from one of the street lights fell down my back,
and a tingle and a shiver went down my spine. I also saw dusty ground, and an old house, and it
looked awfully similar to mine. Immediately, I hid behind one of the walls as I saw the door move.
The door opened, and I saw the person who came out. At first, I was unable to place the person. I
knew I had seen them before. But where? Slowly, as realization dawned upon me, I came to a startling
conclusion. The person was me. At first, I didn t really recognize myself. I looked so beautiful, so
flawless, so care free. I looked as if I had it all; all of the worlds riches, and all the worlds solutions
were within her possession. I came out from behind the wall. I found myself (the future one of course)
picking up coins from the ground. I couldn t stand looking much longer. I had definitely recognized
people from the more pleasant future that I had seen just moments before. I had seen some of my
fellow classmates from my years in elementary school, and some even from yesterday at junior high. I

The Trials And Tribulations Of Teenagers In Grease
The characters in Grease are high school students struggling with the trials and tribulations of
teenagers. Sandy Olsen and Danny Zuko are the main characters who experience an on again/off again
romance. They are from different sides of the tracks and fail to understand the other. The T birds and
Pink Ladies are the friends of Danny and Sandy. These gangs have their own code of conduct which
baffles Sandy. Many other characters fill the scenes with teenage antics.
Danny Zuko, the male lead character, is the leader of the T Birds. He is all consumed with being cool.
Even though Danny is a senior at Rydell High, academics are not a concern of his. His concentration
is that of many teenage boys: to find a job, to buy a car, and

Honda s Credibility
Advertisements have been used over hundreds of years with the goal of persuading their viewers to
obey their message. Ads have become ubiquitous in our lives, from magazines pages to the sides of
buses, each trying in various ways to convince the consumer that they need to purchase the specific
product. This year, Honda released a commercial for the 2016 Civic that displays the car driving out of
the designer s brain with the flow of his imagination. It contains no dialogue and ends with the written
words, Direct from our imagination . The advertisement for the Civic uses aspects of appealing to
positive emotion, source credibility and appealing to broad cultural values to effectively persuade
young first time car buyers to purchase their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Credibility is the amount of perceived training, knowledge and experience of the source by the viewer
(Lecture). Honda uses two different aspects of credibility in their advertisement: the credibility of the
company and of the car s engineer. The car engineer shown at the beginning of the ad serves as a
visual source because the ideas of the car come out of his brain, making him the designer of the civic.
The man was dressed in a lab coat, which serves as an artifact that helps make the connection that the
man is a scientist or engineer who is designing the civic. People tend to trust professionals more when
it comes to building complicated machines such as a car, which is why the viewer would be more
willing to pay attention to the product of imagination coming from the visual source s head.
Additionally, the engineer is a male and according to Tubbs, men and those who are perceived to have
a higher status have a greater impact on the audience (Tubbs). Males may be more trusted and there
are typically more men in the field of engineering. The choice of a male actor over a female may have
been a conscious decision by Honda in attempts to make the visual source more credible for the
consumers because he must be deemed credible for the audience to entrust the car is well equipped. In
addition, Honda used the credibility of their company to transfer credibility to their product through
both visuals and audio effects. Honda s credibility come from vast majority of America that drives
Honda s and their reputation for running well for years. The ad begins with the Honda logo and the
sound of a ding that Honda uses in many of its other commercials. The significance of the correlation
between corporate credibility and the product s credibility is shown through a study conducted by
Lafferty and Goldsmith. The empirical study examined the credibility of the company s effect on the

The Lord of The Rings Universe
Dark, imposing, devious, powerful beyond measure, Sauron is evil personified in the Lord of the
Rings universe. He is the be all and end all when it comes to villiany in the Lord of the Rings tale. He
is a major reason that the Lord of the Rings is regarded as a pinnacle of epic fantasy story telling. But
he is not an overly complex villain, with morally gray motivations that some may say are required if
an evil character, especially the central one, is to be regarded as important and beneficial to the plot.
But the genius of Sauron s villaint is his absence of complex reasoning or motives that could be seen
as not entirely evil. His one goal is to destroy the world of men. He can t be reasoned with or

Gandalf describes how it would corrupt him when Frodo asks him to take it, saying Do not tempt me!
For I do not wish to become lie the Dark Lord himself. Yet the way of the Ring to my heart is by pity,
pity for weakness and the desire of strength to do good. This is an important aspect of Sauron s evil, as
it is shwon throughout the story that while there are many that wish to do good, they are not strong
enough to resist the Ring, or what it would do to them. When these characters fail, such as Boromir, it
allows the reader to see just how twisted Sauron is, and how heroic and steadfast the other
protagonists, such as Frodo must be in order to accomplish their goals. Frodo isn t the only prominent
character to be forced to become someone greater than who they begin as because of the unstoppable
evil of Sauron. Aragorn also comes from humble beginnings to change for the better. When we are
first introduced to his character, he is a ranger. Quiet, lonely and brooding, no one knows much about
him, and he keeps to himself. He described by Frodo as a strange looking, weather beaten man, sitting
in the shadows near the wall. This isn t the description one would think of when describing the heir to
the throne of the Kingdom of men, but at the beginning of the story, Aragorn does not fulfill that role.

Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis ( Uvfp )
Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis
Heather Newberg
Jacksonville University
INTRODUCTION
Unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP) is the complete immobility of one vocal fold. According to
Sapienza and Ruddy (2013), 90% of vocal fold paralysis that occurs is unilateral and caused by
damage to the peripheral nervous system (p. 189). Vocal fold paralysis is typically considered a
symptom of a disease or neurologic disruption. In one study, it was found that vocal fold paralysis was
caused by surgical trauma, tumors or neoplasms, unknown or idiopathic factors, trauma, central
nervous system dysfunction, radiation, inflammatory, cardiovascular, and other causes (Chen, Jen,
Wang, Lee, Lin, 2007). Symptoms of unilateral vocal fold paralysis may include: aphonia, abnormal
vocal quality (breathy, hoarse, and/or strained), and dysphagia. Onset of UVFP may be life altering as
the individual has to find compensatory strategies for voicing or even alternative methods of
communication. The individual is also left susceptible to aspiration due to the lack of airway
protection. These factors make it critical to diagnose the impairment so as to provide the appropriate
treatment.
DIAGNOSIS
Vocal fold paralysis is diagnosed by an otolaryngologist through the use of endoscopy,
laryngostroboscopy, and laryngeal electromyography. Two types of endoscopes may be used to
visualize the vocal folds. One type is a rigid endoscope that is placed in the back of the oral cavity
with a camera pointing down

temperature that night and I thought it might be a normal fever. It was a tough time to sleep that night
in spite to the rise in my body temperature and even I have suffered with body pains that night. I was
all alone in my room that night and moreover, I am staying about 300 kilometres far away from my

Grutter V. Bollinger Case Study
Grutter v. Bollinger, 539 U.S. 306 (2003)
FACTS: A Michigan resident was denied admission to the University of Michigan Law school, even
though she had a 3.8 GPA and a score of 161 on the LSAT. Barbara Grutter sued the school alleging
that they had discriminated against her based on her race, which would be in violation of her
constitutional rights. The University of Michigan Law School argued that there is a state interest to not
have a critical mass of students of a given race; so that minorities do not feel isolated.
ISSUE: Can a public university or institution for higher learner tailor their admission of applicants by
race to balance diversity within their student body?
REASONING: Justice O Conner wrote the majority ruling for the Court. In her writing, she held that
the Constitution does not forbid the narrowly tailored use of race admission process that the law
school used; so that the school may obtain a diverse student body. The use of affirmative action was to
reverse years of historic race bias in the United States. The use of this tailored process was a flexible,
there was no quotas based on race but can use race as a plus factor in consideration for accepting an

Western Tourism Research Paper
The first question, the reason for the availability of lands for tourism, can be explained by a number of
factors. For example, the simplest answer is that certain lands were designated as worth preservation
or other government sanctioned protection and as such, those lands were made available to anyone
who cared to travel and see them. However, there is much more to the story that simple land
protection legislation. For example, the earliest and perhaps original origins for western tourism were
writers and publicists, with the writers creating stories of western rugged individualism, harsh frontier
life, heroic tales of bravery and survival etc. As for the publicists, they promoted the west as a retreat

Taking a Look at Cassava
Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a tuberous root crop that serves as a source of carbohydrate for more
than 800 million people worldwide and its cultivation is estimated to cover more than 18.9 million
hectors (FAO, 2011). It is a vital source of food and income to resource poor farmers (especially
women) in the tropics and staple food crop for nearly 200 million people in the sub Saharan Africa
(Liu et al., 2011; Nyaboga et al., 2013). In Tanzania, cassava ranks only second to maize and third to
rice, with its calories contribution per day being 15 % (FAO 2009).
Cassava production in Africa is constrained with various pests and viral diseases especially cassava
brown streak and cassava mosaic diseases. Research efforts to genetically improve resistance against
viral diseases, drought, postharvest deterioration and nutrients fortification of this crop are underway
(Zang et al., 2005; Vanderschuren et al., 2009; Nyaboga et al., 2013). All these efforts are through
genetic transformation method which relies on the ability of cassava to regenerate from somatic
embryos to full plant. Due to heterozygozity nature of cassava, it is difficult to use its zygotic embryos
as starting materials for genetic transformation protocols (Raemakers et al., 1997; Sarria et al., 2000;
Taylor et al., 2001; Siritunga and Sayre 2003). Instead, organised structures from somatic embryo
cotyledons and friable embryogenic calli (FECs) have been developed (Schöpke et al., 1996; Taylor et

: A quote from Aggie George recalling of her experience in the Lejac Indian Residential School
(Legacy of Hope Foundation, 2001). In the 1880s all the way to the 1990 s roughly 150,000 aboriginal
children where removed from their communities and homes to attend the residential school system set
up by the government and operated by the Christian churches (Government of Canada, 2015). The
purpose of these residential schools was to isolate Aboriginal children from their families and
assimilate them into the dominant culture (First Nations Study Program, 2009). As the history of the
residential school system unfolds it becomes evident that the Canadian Government attempted to
eradicate the Aboriginals culture and lifestyle. The residential school system was a devastating crime
against Aboriginal cultures and has had lasting and debilitating effects on their populations.
The residential schools were a wide spread school system that was established by the Canadian
government and organized by the Christian churches (Government of Canada, 2015). The goal of
these schools was to educate Aboriginal children in Christianity and to adapt them into mainstream
society. The children in these schools were forced to abandon their heritage, and were separated from
their families. The aboriginal school is system was

A Basic Understanding Of Network Competencies Essay
A basic understanding of network competencies is necessary to succeed in most technology fields and
it is a foundational requirement for roles that deal directly with network communications. In today s
connected world of the cloud, apps that depend on internet connectivity, and even thermostats that can
have their temperature set across the internet, the need to understand how networking works is
expanding beyond the traditional roles of Network Administrators, Network Engineers, and
information security professionals to developers, systems administrators, analysts, and support
personnel. A fundamental understanding of networking is necessary to succeed in most technology
jobs. Two such jobs are the Systems Administrator and the Systems Analyst, which have different
training and educational requirements. While much of the Systems Administrator s job revolves
around network related tasks, they also spend a lot of time on servers, software systems, databases,
and storage. Systems Administrators can be responsible for networking and most of what they do
depends on the network, the majority of their time is spent on Servers, software systems like Active
Directory or databases, applications, and storage. Most mid to large organizations will have at least
one dedicated Network Administrator or Network Engineer. The Systems Analyst job has a much
wider skill set, but it also includes some knowledge of computer networking. According to the Bureau

Endagerment of the Black Rhino
Endangerment of the Black Rhino The first thought that comes to mind when a person mentions a
rhinoceros is that they are huge and nearly indestructible; however, this is not the case at all. The
population of the black rhinoceros and other rhinoceros in general is quickly diminishing due to
poaching and habitat destruction. In Kenya alone, the population has gone from 20,000 to less than
600. Their species is classified overall as critically endangered while the subspecies of Western Black
Rhinos has been declared extinct. The species is slowly disappearing and we need to do what we can
to save them before they re all gone. The Black rhinoceros or hook lipped rhinoceros is separated from
the white rhinoceros by their pointed or hooked upper lip that is used for feeding. The black
rhinoceros has two horns and although it is named the black rhino its colors range from a dark yellow
brown to a gray color. An adult usually weighs 1,800 to 3,100 lbs. but they have been reported as
weighing up to as much as 6,400 lbs. They can stand up to about 6 feet tall and be as long as 9 12 feet
not counting an average 2 foot tail. The longer of their two horns is typically about 20 inches but some
have been known to grow up to almost 5 feet. These horns have many purposes such as intimidation,
defense, and feeding. They have thick and durable skin designed to protect against the harsh
environments they live in. Adult black rhinos are generally solitary creatures with only mothers and

Driverless Cars Are Better
Driverless cars are safer than manual cars in many ways. I will explain why they are safer. The first
reason why is because of safety. Examples of this car having a lot of safety is that it accelerates and
stops more sharply, it prevents car accidents, and that it tells you where it needs to go. What s useful
about the acceleration and brakes is that they work really well. What s useful about it preventing car
accidents is that you wouldn t have to worry about getting hurt or killed. What s useful about the radar
that tells you where you need to go is that you can just sit and enjoy the drive. The second reason why
is because it is a lot easier. Examples of this car being a lot easier is that

Natural Selection Vs. Sexual Selection
What is sexual selection? Sexual selection is the natural selection arising through preference by one
sex for certain characteristics in individuals of the other sex. This means they are copulating with their
other mate. Sexual selection can be dangerous in some cases depending on the rate and length of
copulating. It can be so harmful to species that they may not be able to survive from it afterwards.
Charles Darwin distinguished sexual selection and its various ways. He realized that sexual selection
is similar to natural selection in some ways but also different in other forms of sources. Sexual
selection is similar to natural selection because it enhances the male traits but different from natural

The American Dream In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men
The American dream is a perfect life that everyone has thought of and works for. This dream is
equivalent to a goal, in that it is a force that can push the human spirit to its best. In Of Mice and Men,
John Steinbeck demonstrates how the concept of a dream can empower an individual, but how the
result can break an individual. Curley s wife, Crooks, Lennie, and George all juxtapose the idea where
a dream pushes someone to their fullest potential. The neverending battle that fate and human spirit
engage in is found throughout the major and minor conflicts of this novella thus creating a reoccuring
theme of inevitability and chance that structure the story. Of Mice and Men includes a couple of
characters that directly contrast the notion of a dream keeping someone sane and striving. Throughout
the majority of the novella, Curley s wife is a subject of disdain. However it is confided to Lennie that
she coulda made somethin of herself but ended up [marrying] Curley (Steinbeck 88). Curley s wife is
a fine example of an individual that has lost her dreams and is forever affected by it. With her
marriage to Curley, she gives up on her dreams and the toil that it takes on her life is evident in the
novella. In this way, her life has lost spirit because there is no greater purpose that she has to fulfill.
Steinbeck not only represents broken dreams through direct stories of his characters, but also by
indirectly referencing the lost dreams of those who have passed. Crooks, a stable buck, sees workers
pass by the ranch for years, and sees dreams fade time and time again. Steinbeck uses Crooks to
unveil a cold truth that nobody ever gets to Heaven and nobody [ever] gets no land (Steinbeck 74).
Steinbeck s purpose in grouping the two ideas, Heaven and the American dream, is to assure that his
reader is aware of their main connection. The stable buck sees the dreams of men and compares it to
Heaven because he has never seen an individual return with evidence of a dream s, or Heaven s,
existance. It is in this piece of dialogue that Steinbeck shows how unrealistic it is for a dream to be
achieved. The similarities between Crooks and Curley s wife is their disbelief in the American Dream
because it has left them

1. The Theory of Comparative Advantage
This explains that by specializing in goods where countries have a lower opportunity cost, there can be
an increase in economic welfare for all countries. Free trade enables countries to specialize in those
goods where they have a comparative advantage.
2. Reducing Tariff barriers leads to trade creation
Trade creation occurs when consumption switches from high cost producers to low cost producers.
3. Increased Exports.
As well as benefits for consumers importing goods, firms exporting goods where the UK has a
comparative advantage will also see a big improvement in economic welfare. Lower tariffs on UK
exports will enable a higher quantity of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Free trade policy runs smoothly if all the countries follow the same. If some countries do not adopt it,
the system cannot work gainfully.
2. Free trade may prove advantageous to developed and technologically advanced nations, but less
developed countries are certainly at a disadvantage on account of unfavorable terms of trade.
3. Competition induced under free trade is unfair and unhealthy. Backward countries cannot compete
with advanced countries.
4. Gains of trade are not equally distributed under free trade due to unequal state of development of
different countries.
5. A country with unfavorable balance of payments finds it difficult to overcome this situation under
free trade policy.
6. Free trade may encourage interdependence and discourage self sufficiency. But, in the matter of
defense each country should have self reliance and self sufficiency as far as possible.
Despite the clamor of the classical economists about the advantages of the free trade, the policy has
either not been adopted by many countries or abandoned by those who had already adopted it.
Economic history indicates that for the last two centuries, international trade has developed with

The Black Language, Then Tell Me, By James Baldwin
With a background affected tremendously by the dark history of African Americans, language has
become a significant problem to what the term Black English really means to different people. In If
Black Language Isn t a Language, Then Tell Me, What Is, James Baldwin attempts to analyze what a
language really means and how Black English evolved to fulfill an important role for Americans.
Black English sounds proper to blacks, but to whites it may not be a proper use of language.
Throughout this essay, Baldwin uses a specific tone and relates to his audience by opening his mind to
both emotion and logic while still upholding his credibility. Baldwin tries to persuade the audience to
respect the language of Black English using his personal experience. The history of different
languages mentioned in the essay is used to help convince the audience of thinking about the term
language from a new perspective. Whites and Blacks both may speak the same language, but that does
not mean that they understand each other because the language can be spoken in different matters. As
Baldwin states, The white man could not possibly understand, and that, indeed, he cannot understand,
until today . A white man or black man had to be careful about the words they used in front of each
other because some words would be considered offensive for one another. Baldwin uses African
American language and culture to reveal the impact that the English language Americans use has
created. Throughout the

The Terminally Ill Patient’S Death Is Imminent, Isn’T Death
The terminally ill patient s death is imminent, isn t death a natural cause of universe, imminent for all
and not limited to the terminally ill? While euthanasia might be Mercy Killing , it does not
differentiate it from an act of murder and neither and thus not justify. Euthanasia is the intentional
killing of a patient for the patient s sake either passive by withholding or withdrawing treatment or
active through direct involvement. This subject is a controversial topic debated for quite some time.
Although it is legal in less than 10 countries, by taking into consideration the physician s frequent
involvement with the terminally ill. It is evident that soon this number will increase as more
physicians fight to legalize euthanasia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The following commentary will touch upon both sides of the debate for and against euthanasia to
conclude as to which course of action should be taken once an HCP is faced with a situation much like
that of Paul Mills.
If Dr. Morrison s act was to be perceived as the best course of action for a patient by the health care
provided then there is no better treatment for a patient like Paul Mills than performing active
euthanasia and he must not have been charged with first degree murder when his only crime was to
put the patient first. As mentioned before, the legal status of euthanasia in Canada is that a person has
the right of withdrawal or refusal of a treatment, if deemed competent and that health care providers
must respect that decision (Fisher, 2013, p. 194). This proves that He just ended the patient s already
ending life since euthanasia has two prominent features one being that it is the intentional killing of a
man and second being that it is for the sake of that person which is what has been debated to
distinguish it from normal killing. ( Euthanasia Fact Sheet | The World Federation of Right to Die
Societies ). If we were to consider the candidacy of patient Mill s to receive voluntary euthanasia he
met all five of the necessary condition since he was suffering from terminal esophageal cancer, had a
short life expectancy given that his death was imminent even with the continuation of treatment, was
suffering as a direct result of the

Symbolism In The Waking Dark
For my project, I chose to paint one of the most iconic scenes and/or symbols represented: a tornado
and an older modelled Chevy Impala. In the horror novel The Waking Dark by Robin Wasserman, five
teenagers sanity is put to the test as they are propelled into the harrowing world of criminal activity:
more specifically gruesome, realistic, and intricately detailed local murder. The central characters all
experience a coincidental chain of homicides all within the same (referred to asThe Killing Day). A
year later, as they continue to cope on various way, Oleander reels in an insane tornado, completely
destroying the town. This event leads to a grand flee for the entire city, leaving a barren area of
disaster in its wake. As itself, the

My Personal Experience In College Education
Spring 2017 was the worst semesters for me in comparison to my entire college education. I returned
back to college after leaving for six years. I started back spring 2016 at Cuny Hostos . I took 5 classes
in the spring and Fall and one class over the summer. I maintained a GPA over 3.0. I had 3.54 the
spring, I passed my summer class and I maintained a 3.94 for the fall . I transferred from there due to
the distance and I attended my first semester at Brooklyn College. So many elements affected me and
I must be honest and say this was a very hard adjustment for me. My toddler son had contracted pink
eye on three separate occasions. One of my closest friends experienced a horrible anxiety attack where
she flat lined twice in front of me. I m unsure of the name the EMT called it but he said due to the
stress she was dealing with that her body shut down on her. Having to be her main source of support
has mentally and physically strained everything in me. Another stressful situation that took place was
my cousin experienced a event which caused her to have a psychotic breakdown. She witness a
murder while she was away in college and she tried to cope with drugs and a bunch of other things.
Her parents went and got her and she was in a manic stage. She was home for about three days, not
sleeping, not eating, just babbling about a few different things. Full of rage, energy it was a very long
three days with her. My mom finally convinced her parents that she needs to go to

  • 2. Communication Challenges Among Cross Cultural Setting And... Understanding the communication challenges among cross cultural setting and offshore teams and understanding the ways to minimize the challenges will help everyone to reduce communication issues and increase performance. Many US based companies are utilizing the teams from India and china to reduce the product development cost. While reducing the cost, using offshore teams, they face multiple cross cultural issues. Management needs to understand these kinds of issues and way to solve or mitigate the risk. Knowledge of cross cultural teams and various ways to communicate effectively will help minimize the miscommunication issues and help understand the cross cultural teams. Multiple researches have been done on how the people from various cultures communicate. Particular societies tend to have distinct ways of working, and they can prove problematic when attempting cross border collaboration. For example, Indian software companies have found they need to approach communication with U.S. and Japanese clients in very different ways. U.S. client companies normally work with extensive written agreements and explicit documentation, reinforced with frequent and informal telephone and email contact. In contrast, Japanese clients tend to prefer verbal communication, more tacit and continuously negotiated agreements, and less frequent but more formal use of electronic media (Krishna, Sahay Walsham, 2004). This means we cannot generalize how people prefer to communicate. It depends ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Imperialism In Nigeria The history of Nigeria has been reshaped and affected by the presence of external sources interfering with Nigerian culture and tradition. Europeans often colonized Nigeria for its central role in the slave trade, as well as for land and valuable resources. In particular, British occupation and Imperialization has had a significant impact on the country s history. Colonization benefited the Nigerian people considerably, allowing the British to then likewise benefit. The British did manage to create for themselves a hefty profit, and the Nigerian people did also reap the benefits of British colonization. However, the British did not always rule justly and fairly, eventually leading to the collapse of British influence in Nigeria. The country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, directly after the British took control of Nigeria they split it up into two territories, the Protectorate of Northern Nigeria and the Protectorate of Southern Nigeria. This creates a country that is literally divided, increasing political and ethnic tensions. This system of governing Nigeria had built in contradictions, forcing the Nigerian government into a sophisticated form of local government. While colonization encouraged industry in Nigeria it also forced many people in the country to migrate to work elsewhere (Falola 17), away from their tribes and culture into more industrialized cities. The British were constantly paranoid of a possible revolt from the Nigerian peoples, so to prevent any united opposition to its authority, the British adopted a divide and conquer policy (Falola 40), keeping Nigerian groups separate from one another as much as possible. This only increased the amount of tribal and cultural diversity, which during this time period usually resulted in disagreements leading to war. Western culture and education by Christian missionaries was not always accepted, it often was strongly resisted by Muslim leaders (Falola 67), again only creating additional problems among the peoples. Although the English Royal Air Force is no longer fighting Nazi Germany in WWII, these words still relate to Winston Churchill today. How can a single person inspire so many? Over his 91 years of life Winston has shown great heroism. Churchill proves his courage during WWI and WWII. He has been incredibly determined when he reached 19 different political positions, including prime minister (highest government position) twice. He had also been known for many famous paintings and winning a Nobel Prize in literature, demonstrating his wisdom. Winston Churchill had lead Great Britain to victory in both WWI and WWII. He also had many other military victories, albeit much smaller. In 1875 Churchill joined the British Army at the age of 21. • 6. The Pros and Cons of an Unwritten Constitution in the UK... The Advantages and Disadvantages of an Unwritten Constitution in the UK The UK has an unwritten constitution unlike the U.S.A. Instead Britain s laws, policies and codes are developed through statutes, common law, convention and more recently E.U law. It is misleading to call the British constitution unwritten; a more precise form of classification would be un codified. This means that the British constitution has no single document, which states principles and rules of a state. However, The British constitution clearly sets out how political power is allocated and where it is legally located. The British constitution is still visible and it defines composition and powers of the main offices and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is the in corporation of E.U laws into UK laws. Since parliament passed the European communities Act in 1972 Britain has accepted the superiority of European law. The House of Lords has judged certain English laws to be unlawful in light of EU legislation. Another advantage of an unwritten or un codified constitution is that it is evolutionary because it develops with historical changes. An example of this is when parliament in the UK took total sovereignty away from the monarchy in 1867. Changes to the British constitution reflect a changing balance of power. The constitution is important even though it is not written form because it formed the basis of the separation of power that we now have, for example between the Lords and the Commons. This also shows the flexibility of the constitution. An advantage of the UK constitution is that it takes into account of changing views. For example, in 1997 the changing of the hereditary peer system and also further reforms to change the structure of parliament. It is good that the British constitution will always takes into account these changes. However, there are disadvantages to an un written constitution. A written constitution is considered the highest form of law and is respected because of this. There is no such principle in the British constitution because sovereignty lies with Parliament. ... • 9. Søren Kierkegaard People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use. Lets go back to when men valued thought, for they valued its effect on the world, lets go back and take a look at the father of Christian Existentialism, Søren Kierkegaard. Søren Kierkegaard was born to a father who inflicted strict and rigorous religious teaching upon his children. His father felt this was necessary because of his sinful habit that resulted in an affair with his 1st wife s maid. Kierkegaard, after a broken engagement with his love, was handed over to a life of severe melancholy. Yet as a result of both his personal pain and brilliant mind, a literary life few could surpass, and wisdom of thought (does that make sense) ensued. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His answer was summarized in three words, Fear and Trembling. This is something that he spent an immense amount of time answering, and his answers can be condensed into the example that he gave from the Old Testament in the Bible. He gives Christians an example in which to follow, in the patriarch Abraham. The example that Abraham gives, and we are to follow, is found in how Abraham responds to the command to kill his son. For man, especially a father, this command is unfathomable, yet because God wanted to test Abraham (give better reasoning), he told him to sacrifice his son. Kierkegaard looks at Genesis 22:2, it says, He said, Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you. He notes the unbearable precision in the command, when God says take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love (emphasis added) Kierkegaard also takes a close look at the beginning of the next verse, it says, So Abraham rose early in the morning. He notes that some men take this excerpt to men that Abraham was rising early to faithfully carry out his duty. And while that has some truth to it, it is not complete, Kierkegaard emphasizes the fact that he rose early, not because he got a great night of sleep, rather that he wrestled with this command in ... Swift specifies that the little ones fattened up would be delicacies at banquets, christenings, or any special celebration. Some even tended to make breeding farms for women to make scrumptious little darlings over and over again until their time of birthing was done. Did this really happen, you say? Did it even fall through and decrease poverty? All in all, Swift addressed the issue in a way that no one would have thought. In the end, he wasn t being serious about harvesting the little ones and digesting them, but simply letting everyone open their eyes and see what was going around in their small community of Ireland. An explanation of how billing and coding works for healthcare services Medical billing and coding are two closely related aspects of the modern health care industry. Both practices are involved in the immensely important reimbursement cycle, which ensures that health care providers are paid for the services they perform. For the sake of simplicity, let s divide the two at the moment and look at them as separate pieces of a larger process. We ll begin with medical coding. Medical Coding Medical coding, at its most basic, is a little like translation. It s the coder s job to take something that s written one way (a doctor s diagnosis, for example, or a prescription for a certain medication) and translate it as accurately as possible into a numeric or alphanumeric code. For every injury, diagnosis, and medical procedure, there is a corresponding code. There are thousands and thousands of codes for medical procedures, outpatient procedures, and diagnoses. Let s start with a quick example of medical coding in action. A patient walks into a doctor s office with a hacking cough, high production of mucus or sputum, and a fever. A nurse asks the patient their symptoms and performs some initial tests, and then the doctor examines the patient and diagnoses bronchitis. The doctor then prescribes medication to the patient. Every part of this visit is recorded by the doctor or someone in the healthcare provider s office. It s the medical coder s job to translate every bit of relevant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Felson and Lane (2009) suggests that children who have been physically or sexually abused learn to use violence as an acceptable way to resolve their problems through modelling. Furthermore, Felson and Lane (2009) suggest that sexually abused children are more likely to engage in prostitution and that physically abused children were more likely to commit offences such as assault, murder, and robbery. In Marys case she was both physically and sexually abused and did engage in prostitution as well as commit robbery and murder. Marys criminal behaviour as well as her alcohol and drug abuse is mainly the result of the modelling influences of her family and peers. • 21. Common Sense Explanations And The Explanations Of C.... In this essay I will be exploring the differences between common sense explanations and the explanations of C. Wright Mills theory of The Sociological Imagination. Common sense is based on people s personal experiences and their opinions, very often constructed from social norms and generalised views. Whereas, the Sociological Imagination thought up by sociologist C. Wright Mills (1959) is based on the ideas of thinking critically and skeptically, in order to think sociologically. He wrote that in order to do this, we have to understand and grasp the link between current society and history, personal troubles and public issues. There are three main parts to Sociological Imagination: social structure, biography and history. In this essay I will set forth the ways in which each of these approaches would explain the topic of sexuality. I consider sexuality to be an umbrella term for various features, including sexual orientation, sexual activity, masculinity/femininity and gender roles. Each of which will be looked at in this essay in order to explore the topic of sexuality in relation to common sense and the Sociological Imagination. Sexual orientation is commonly viewed as the term to describe an individual s attraction for others; who they want to have sex with. This sexual attraction is what s commonly considered to be the representative of their sexuality. The common sense approach to sexual orientation is well educated on heterosexuality and the LGBT community. LGBT ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And I saw buildings alright; a great deal in fact! There was one huge building that was shaped like a pair of rocket boots, and the rest of the buildings were scattered all across the area. Ads have become ubiquitous in our lives, from magazines pages to the sides of buses, each trying in various ways to convince the consumer that they need to purchase the specific product. This year, Honda released a commercial for the 2016 Civic that displays the car driving out of the designer s brain with the flow of his imagination. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Credibility is the amount of perceived training, knowledge and experience of the source by the viewer (Lecture). Honda uses two different aspects of credibility in their advertisement: the credibility of the company and of the car s engineer. The car engineer shown at the beginning of the ad serves as a visual source because the ideas of the car come out of his brain, making him the designer of the civic. The man was dressed in a lab coat, which serves as an artifact that helps make the connection that the man is a scientist or engineer who is designing the civic. People tend to trust professionals more when it comes to building complicated machines such as a car, which is why the viewer would be more willing to pay attention to the product of imagination coming from the visual source s head. Additionally, the engineer is a male and according to Tubbs, men and those who are perceived to have a higher status have a greater impact on the audience (Tubbs). Males may be more trusted and there are typically more men in the field of engineering. The choice of a male actor over a female may have been a conscious decision by Honda in attempts to make the visual source more credible for the consumers because he must be deemed credible for the audience to entrust the car is well equipped. • 26. Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis ( Uvfp ) Unilateral Vocal Fold Paralysis Heather Newberg Jacksonville University INTRODUCTION Unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP) is the complete immobility of one vocal fold. According to Sapienza and Ruddy (2013), 90% of vocal fold paralysis that occurs is unilateral and caused by damage to the peripheral nervous system (p. 189). Vocal fold paralysis is typically considered a symptom of a disease or neurologic disruption. In one study, it was found that vocal fold paralysis was caused by surgical trauma, tumors or neoplasms, unknown or idiopathic factors, trauma, central nervous system dysfunction, radiation, inflammatory, cardiovascular, and other causes (Chen, Jen, Wang, Lee, Lin, 2007). Symptoms of unilateral vocal fold paralysis may include: aphonia, abnormal vocal quality (breathy, hoarse, and/or strained), and dysphagia. Onset of UVFP may be life altering as the individual has to find compensatory strategies for voicing or even alternative methods of communication. The individual is also left susceptible to aspiration due to the lack of airway protection. These factors make it critical to diagnose the impairment so as to provide the appropriate treatment. DIAGNOSIS Vocal fold paralysis is diagnosed by an otolaryngologist through the use of endoscopy, laryngostroboscopy, and laryngeal electromyography. Two types of endoscopes may be used to visualize the vocal folds. One type is a rigid endoscope that is placed in the back of the oral cavity with a camera pointing down ... Barbara Grutter sued the school alleging that they had discriminated against her based on her race, which would be in violation of her constitutional rights. Taking a Look at Cassava Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is a tuberous root crop that serves as a source of carbohydrate for more than 800 million people worldwide and its cultivation is estimated to cover more than 18.9 million hectors (FAO, 2011). It is a vital source of food and income to resource poor farmers (especially women) in the tropics and staple food crop for nearly 200 million people in the sub Saharan Africa (Liu et al., 2011; Nyaboga et al., 2013). In Tanzania, cassava ranks only second to maize and third to rice, with its calories contribution per day being 15 % (FAO 2009). Cassava production in Africa is constrained with various pests and viral diseases especially cassava brown streak and cassava mosaic diseases. Research efforts to genetically improve resistance against viral diseases, drought, postharvest deterioration and nutrients fortification of this crop are underway (Zang et al., 2005; Vanderschuren et al., 2009; Nyaboga et al., 2013). All these efforts are through genetic transformation method which relies on the ability of cassava to regenerate from somatic embryos to full plant. Due to heterozygozity nature of cassava, it is difficult to use its zygotic embryos as starting materials for genetic transformation protocols (Raemakers et al., 1997; Sarria et al., 2000; Taylor et al., 2001; Siritunga and Sayre 2003). In today s connected world of the cloud, apps that depend on internet connectivity, and even thermostats that can have their temperature set across the internet, the need to understand how networking works is expanding beyond the traditional roles of Network Administrators, Network Engineers, and information security professionals to developers, systems administrators, analysts, and support personnel. A fundamental understanding of networking is necessary to succeed in most technology jobs. Two such jobs are the Systems Administrator and the Systems Analyst, which have different training and educational requirements. While much of the Systems Administrator s job revolves around network related tasks, they also spend a lot of time on servers, software systems, databases, and storage. Systems Administrators can be responsible for networking and most of what they do depends on the network, the majority of their time is spent on Servers, software systems like Active Directory or databases, applications, and storage. In Kenya alone, the population has gone from 20,000 to less than 600. The species is slowly disappearing and we need to do what we can to save them before they re all gone. • 42. The American Dream In John Steinbeck s Of Mice And Men The American dream is a perfect life that everyone has thought of and works for. This dream is equivalent to a goal, in that it is a force that can push the human spirit to its best. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck demonstrates how the concept of a dream can empower an individual, but how the result can break an individual. Curley s wife, Crooks, Lennie, and George all juxtapose the idea where a dream pushes someone to their fullest potential. The neverending battle that fate and human spirit engage in is found throughout the major and minor conflicts of this novella thus creating a reoccuring theme of inevitability and chance that structure the story. Of Mice and Men includes a couple of characters that directly contrast the notion of a dream keeping someone sane and striving. Throughout the majority of the novella, Curley s wife is a subject of disdain. However it is confided to Lennie that she coulda made somethin of herself but ended up [marrying] Curley (Steinbeck 88). Curley s wife is a fine example of an individual that has lost her dreams and is forever affected by it. With her marriage to Curley, she gives up on her dreams and the toil that it takes on her life is evident in the novella. In this way, her life has lost spirit because there is no greater purpose that she has to fulfill. Steinbeck not only represents broken dreams through direct stories of his characters, but also by indirectly referencing the lost dreams of those who have passed. Crooks, a stable buck, sees workers pass by the ranch for years, and sees dreams fade time and time again. Steinbeck uses Crooks to unveil a cold truth that nobody ever gets to Heaven and nobody [ever] gets no land (Steinbeck 74). Steinbeck s purpose in grouping the two ideas, Heaven and the American dream, is to assure that his reader is aware of their main connection. The stable buck sees the dreams of men and compares it to Heaven because he has never seen an individual return with evidence of a dream s, or Heaven s, existance. It is in this piece of dialogue that Steinbeck shows how unrealistic it is for a dream to be achieved. The similarities between Crooks and Curley s wife is their disbelief in the American Dream because it has left them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Free trade may prove advantageous to developed and technologically advanced nations, but less developed countries are certainly at a disadvantage on account of unfavorable terms of trade. 3. Competition induced under free trade is unfair and unhealthy. Backward countries cannot compete with advanced countries. 4. Gains of trade are not equally distributed under free trade due to unequal state of development of different countries. 5. A country with unfavorable balance of payments finds it difficult to overcome this situation under free trade policy. 6. Free trade may encourage interdependence and discourage self sufficiency. • 44. The Black Language, Then Tell Me, By James Baldwin With a background affected tremendously by the dark history of African Americans, language has become a significant problem to what the term Black English really means to different people. In If Black Language Isn t a Language, Then Tell Me, What Is, James Baldwin attempts to analyze what a language really means and how Black English evolved to fulfill an important role for Americans. Black English sounds proper to blacks, but to whites it may not be a proper use of language. Throughout this essay, Baldwin uses a specific tone and relates to his audience by opening his mind to both emotion and logic while still upholding his credibility. Baldwin tries to persuade the audience to respect the language of Black English using his personal experience. The history of different languages mentioned in the essay is used to help convince the audience of thinking about the term language from a new perspective. Whites and Blacks both may speak the same language, but that does not mean that they understand each other because the language can be spoken in different matters. As Baldwin states, The white man could not possibly understand, and that, indeed, he cannot understand, until today . A white man or black man had to be careful about the words they used in front of each other because some words would be considered offensive for one another. Baldwin uses African American language and culture to reveal the impact that the English language Americans use has created. Throughout the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Terminally Ill Patient’S Death Is Imminent, Isn’T Death The terminally ill patient s death is imminent, isn t death a natural cause of universe, imminent for all and not limited to the terminally ill? While euthanasia might be Mercy Killing , it does not differentiate it from an act of murder and neither and thus not justify. Euthanasia is the intentional killing of a patient for the patient s sake either passive by withholding or withdrawing treatment or active through direct involvement. This subject is a controversial topic debated for quite some time. Although it is legal in less than 10 countries, by taking into consideration the physician s frequent involvement with the terminally ill. It is evident that soon this number will increase as more physicians fight to legalize euthanasia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The following commentary will touch upon both sides of the debate for and against euthanasia to conclude as to which course of action should be taken once an HCP is faced with a situation much like that of Paul Mills. If Dr. Morrison s act was to be perceived as the best course of action for a patient by the health care provided then there is no better treatment for a patient like Paul Mills than performing active euthanasia and he must not have been charged with first degree murder when his only crime was to put the patient first. As mentioned before, the legal status of euthanasia in Canada is that a person has the right of withdrawal or refusal of a treatment, if deemed competent and that health care providers must respect that decision (Fisher, 2013, p. 194). This proves that He just ended the patient s already ending life since euthanasia has two prominent features one being that it is the intentional killing of a man and second being that it is for the sake of that person which is what has been debated to distinguish it from normal killing. ( Euthanasia Fact Sheet | The World Federation of Right to Die Societies ). If we were to consider the candidacy of patient Mill s to receive voluntary euthanasia he met all five of the necessary condition since he was suffering from terminal esophageal cancer, had a short life expectancy given that his death was imminent even with the continuation of treatment, was suffering as a direct result of the ... • 47. My Personal Experience In College Education Spring 2017 was the worst semesters for me in comparison to my entire college education. I returned back to college after leaving for six years. I started back spring 2016 at Cuny Hostos . I took 5 classes in the spring and Fall and one class over the summer. I maintained a GPA over 3.0. I had 3.54 the spring, I passed my summer class and I maintained a 3.94 for the fall . I transferred from there due to the distance and I attended my first semester at Brooklyn College. So many elements affected me and I must be honest and say this was a very hard adjustment for me. My toddler son had contracted pink eye on three separate occasions. One of my closest friends experienced a horrible anxiety attack where she flat lined twice in front of me. I m unsure of the name the EMT called it but he said due to the stress she was dealing with that her body shut down on her. Having to be her main source of support has mentally and physically strained everything in me. Another stressful situation that took place was my cousin experienced a event which caused her to have a psychotic breakdown. She witness a murder while she was away in college and she tried to cope with drugs and a bunch of other things. Her parents went and got her and she was in a manic stage. She was home for about three days, not sleeping, not eating, just babbling about a few different things. Full of rage, energy it was a very long three days with her. My mom finally convinced her parents that she needs to go to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
