Plants are multicellular organisms that produce their own food through photosynthesis but cannot move. Animals are also multicellular but feed on other organisms, reproduce, and can move to avoid predators. Algae can be unicellular or multicellular and produce their own food, while protists are unicellular organisms that feed on other living things and require a microscope to be observed. Fungi include multicellular mushrooms and molds as well as unicellular yeasts, and reproduce through spores. Bacteria are the simplest organisms and can only be seen with a microscope.
