Living things have life cycles, undergo life processes like nutrition and reproduction, and are made up of cells. Viruses are not considered living as they are very small micro-organisms that can cause illness. Cells are the basic unit of living things, with animal cells containing organelles, a nucleus, cell membrane, and cytoplasm, while plant cells also have a cell wall. Organisms can be classified as unicellular, consisting of a single cell, or multicellular, made up of many cells organized into tissues, organs, and systems.
