Chosen publication andwhy… Examples of popular magazine publications in the UK would be IPC Media (producers of NME), Development Hell Limited (The Word, Mixmag) and Bauer (Kerrang! and Mojo), which are all successful publishers of these magazines and other genres of media. Out of these examples I feel that IPC Media would be the most likely institution to distribute my magazine as it is quite similar in mass production to NME, which is one of the magazines IPC Media is responsible for which is successful in the UK market as a well known music magazine which is what Amplify would aspire to be in the near future. The companies tag like is ‘the UK’s leading consumer magazine and digital publisher. Although the company already produce NME I feel that my magazine would still reach a gap in the market as it’s a more specific genre magazine and holds a different look all together as to what NME holds. This would mean the magazine would most likely be successful in this market place and could expand in various ways such as being published online and also be featured in advertisements. Sponsorship of live events as NME have their own stage featured at Leeds and Reading Festival which makes the magazine come to life and would gain popularity in both regions of the UK and not just locally.
