This document summarizes the improvements made from the author's preliminary film task to their final cut. It describes using more diverse shot types, like extreme long shots, that allow for better showing of continuity. The angles are improved to include all of the action. Various rules of filmmaking, like the 180 degree rule, were properly followed. More focus was placed on mise-en-scene elements like clothing, props, and setting to make the world feel more realistic. Editing saw improvements like color correction, filters, credits, and added sound effects to give the film a darker and more polished overall quality.

In my final cut compared to my preliminary task I havelearned a
lot morewhen it comes to filming editing
etc. An example of this is the use of
different shottypes throughoutour film.
The different shot types help give the
film a morediverse feel. Some of the
shots used are extreme long shots like we
see when Lucy is running fromthe stalkers
through the stonetunnel this shotallows
us to show of knowledgeof continuity as we see Lucy at the top
of the hill and then it cuts to her own camera and picks off where
it switched to her view this demonstrates continuity. Compared to our video on my prelim we
had off timed jump cuts that didn’t flow as smoothly and the angle is good as we can’t see the
whole of the action like we can in my final cut. We magnedd to maintan all the rules of filming
for intace the 180 degreerule that we used in our prelim is not broken throught our final cut.
The angles we used greatly improvede to include all the action and mise en scene, I bleive this
helped us create a more quallity productby focusing on macth on action.
We also foucsused on mes en scene as you can
see we focused more on clothing andd props
eg the kiife we used and the blacked out
cloithing this helps creat a more realistic world
for the audience and I think I haveimprovedd apon this a lot
since the prelim task. Comparing the plain out of place
storagecuboard to all the different scens weusedd throughtoutthe film including mayn
different scenes like catle grounds and as well as the reigate college grounds.
Editing has also improved a lot as we can see the lighitng on my prelim video is justraw
footage and has not colour correction applied, however our film has been eddited to look
darker (due to that we couldn’t film at night this was our only option but I thought it worked
quite well as tells our audience that it’s a ddark themed film as well. Such other effects like the
credits, filters and the camcorder overlay have been added to my film after reshearch into
eiditning in final cut pro. As well as this we added sound affects to our film and the prelim only
had raw endited sound
