- 1. Normally, the audience for psychological thrillers are 18+ because there is normally a lot of violence and psychological issues that may be disturbing for younger viewers. However, the age of the audience who would view my media would be 16-18. This is because the characters Eric and Dylan are 17-18 and the actors of them characters are 16 and 17. This means that the characters will look and act like a teenager aged between 16 and 18 would so therefore the film would appeal to an audience of 16 to 18 year olds as then the audience would be a similar age to the actors and characters. Moreover, the audience would probably be majority male as women normally prefer romance films to thrillers whereas men normally prefer thrillers. We have therefore made the 2 main characters male so the film appeals to the audience more and also so the audience can imagine themselves in the character’s position. Furthermore, the type of people who would probably want to see the film would be rebels (people who don’t obey the rules) as the filmis based on two teenagers who eventually start a school shooting which is not obeying the rules. In the title sequence, you see Eric smoking and both of them messing around which shows that they are not really trying at school and are rebels. Additionally,inourquestionnaire,we askedthe audience whatage theythoughtthe audience for particulargenresshouldbe.Forthrillers,the majority(15outof 20) said16-18 year olds.This therefore givesusa strongreasonto selectthatage groupfor our audience asthe audience have toldus whataudience toselect throughthe questionnaireandtheyare the people we needto watch our film.
