Places that could potentially distribute the filmmaker's thriller drama include local film festivals and independent cinemas. Research of local cinemas showed dramas and thrillers were popular genres. Specifically, the Phoenix and Walton cinemas primarily showed thrillers like the filmmaker's. Film festivals like the BFI also featured thrillers. Therefore, the filmmaker concluded independent cinemas and film festivals that featured similar genres would be suitable places to showcase their film.

could potentially distribute my product.
Places that could potentially distribute my media product would be
places such as my local Odeon and film/TV festivals. I think this because
places like that want to promote new people to find talent and maybe get
better and bigger projects out of them.

3. The genres that are in this screenshot above are comedy, sports drama, thriller
drama, adventure, animation and standard drama. The genre that is most
prevalent is drama. Our film relates to this because we have done a thriller
drama so I can see why that type of genre is so popular. This tells me that the
audience for my local cinema like dramas a lot if that is what Is the most popular
and what people are seeing the most. For Woking cinema, it is the same and

4. What is on at my local Odeon in the screenshots above are many different films including
comedy, animation, action, adventure, drama and program. The genre that is the most
prevalent again is drama with 4 movies above being a drama genre. This shows that the
audience that go to my local Odeon obviously prefer dramas to any other genre showing. Our
film relates to this because we have done a thriller drama so I can see why that type of genre
is so popular. For Woking cinema, it is near enough the same movies that they are showing
so it is not different and there are a lot of dramas being shown.

doesn’t relate to this genre because we haven’t done a opening sequence about action or

is not different and there are a lot of dramas being shown.

The genre of film that they show the most at the
electric cinema is action and drama. This is not the
genre that we have done for our opening sequence as
we have done a thriller. What this tells us about the
independent cinemas is that they prefer watching
more deep meaningful movies rather than comedy's
and thrillers.

The genres of films in the phoenix cinema is thriller. This is
because that the people nearer to where this cinema is
positioned obviously like thrillers more than other genres.
This is the same genre that we have done so we can relate
and distribute our product there. The movies at this cinema
are a bit different towards Odeon because there are more
choices to watch there.

8. Walton cinema
The genre of films shown in the Walton cinema are generally action
and thrillers. This shows that the audience who visit this cinema
prefer to watch those kind of genres at the cinema. This cinema
does relate to the genre that we have done as we have done a
thriller and the cinema also show some thrillers meaning we can
relate to the cinema more. This cinema is not so different to the
Odeon because they show all the same films that they show at
Walton and have the same good reviews also.

9. BFI Film
Festival
The genre of films that they show at the BFI
film festival are love, debate, thriller, cult,
family and treasures. There isn’t a most
prevalent genre because they show lots of
genres at the film festival. However, our film
does fit in with one of the genres showing at
the film festival being a thriller. The films that
won the most awards are in the picture
below. They won these awards because of
them being different from the rest and how
they stood out. The genres that these films
are where mostly drama/thrillers, what this
tells us is that these genres are a very good
watch.

The genre of films at the Sundance film festival are Drama, documentaries, spotlight, kids,
midnight, shorts and premiers. All the genres are prevalent but the most interesting out of research
looks like the the drama and documentaries because they are being advertised all over the
website. This is not the genre that I am doing as I am doing a thriller but these are more dramas.
The films that won the most awards are shown in the two screenshots above. There are many
genres for these so one cannot be the best.

shown
BBC vs Film 4
I would prefer my film to be shown on Film 4 as it is more preferred to the film that I have
produced.The film that we have done is a thriller genre so it would fit in with the films that
are on film 4. For example, I looked on theTV guide for film 4 and saw many films that can
relate to ours, other films in the genre are taken, se7en and Fargo. I think that if I put It on
BBC, it would look out of place and that wouldn't be good for the director of the film and the
reputation of the channel.

Electric cinema vs Odeon
The place where I would prefer to get my film shown is and independent cinema such as the
electric cinema. I think this would be a better place to get the film shown for different
reasons. Firstly, I think that the independent would be a better place to distribute because
there's a higher chance of them showing the movie than the Odeon. Also if it did get shown
at the Odeon, I don’t think people would go to see the movie because there wouldn't be any
advertisement for it.Another reason for an independent is that because its not a chain of big
cinemas, local people might give a new movie a chance and see what its like.

16. Where my film may be
placed?
I believe that overall, I think that realistically think that my film would be shown in an
independent cinema. I think this because it would get viewed a lot more if the cinema is a
lot smaller. If the cinema is bigger then people would want to see the bigger better films.
