1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
My magazine has cover lines all over
The page, this breaks conventions because
Normally you have cover lines on one side
Like on Vibe’s front cover but I have them
All over the place to show the core content
My magazine offers

My magazine has a
Black/White/Blue colour
scheme which
Breaks conventions and is quite
original, you never see black,
Blue on magazines it was
inspired by XXL’s black/red
colour scheme

My magazine header follows conventions and gives
Simple information clearly and precisely.

My masthead overlaps the main
image Whereas in the Vibe magazine
the main image overlaps the
masthead, that is the convention and
they use this because Vibe is a very
well-known magazine so they can do
this knowing that the customers will
know the name.
My magazine uses standard
conventions in means of the
main image as it is covering the
whole front cover like most
front covers do with.

My magazine follows conventions with
The location of the pricing/date and barcodes
But it is more explicit.

My magazine follows certain
Conventions when it comes to
Simplicity, just like the Vibe
Contents page my magazine is simple

My masthead is not in bold and it
uses a different curlier font, this
breaks conventions because you
normally see big block capitals
like on the Vibe magazine but
I’ve decided not to follow
that convention

My text is a lot larger
in general than the
Vibe contents page,
where the main focus
in the Vibe magazine
is the image, mine
focuses more on the
text, this breaks
conventions.
My magazine breaks
conventions by having larger
sized text. It also breaks
conventions because the
artwork doesn’t cover the
whole of the double page
spread as opposed to the Jay-Z
double page spread. It also has
a lot more text, and the
heading is smaller and at the
top right. The main focus is the
artwork which is conventional. I

My magazine has cover lines all over The page, this breaks conventions because Normally you have cover lines on one side Like on Vibe’s front cover but I have them All over the place to show the core content My magazine offers My magazine has a Black/White/Blue colour scheme which Breaks conventions and is quite original, you never see black, Blue on magazines it was inspired by XXL’s black/red colour scheme My magazine header follows conventions and gives Simple information clearly and precisely. My masthead overlaps the main image Whereas in the Vibe magazine the main image overlaps the masthead, that is the convention and they use this because Vibe is a very well-known magazine so they can do this knowing that the customers will know the name. My magazine uses standard conventions in means of the main image as it is covering the whole front cover like most front covers do with. My magazine follows conventions with The location of the pricing/date and barcodes But it is more explicit.

Heading with features Under them with page Numbers for easy navigation My magazine follows certain Conventions when it comes to Simplicity, just like the Vibe Contents page my magazine is simple My masthead is not in bold and it uses a different curlier font, this breaks conventions because you normally see big block capitals like on the Vibe magazine but I’ve decided not to follow that convention My text is a lot larger in general than the Vibe contents page, where the main focus in the Vibe magazine is the image, mine focuses more on the text, this breaks conventions.

It also breaks conventions because the artwork doesn’t cover the whole of the double page spread as opposed to the Jay-Z double page spread. It also has a lot more text, and the heading is smaller and at the top right. The main focus is the artwork which is conventional. I
