The document discusses distribution options for an independent UK thriller film. It states that a distributor's role is to market and circulate films in theaters and home video. For an independent short film, distributors like Dazzle, Futureshorts, and Shorts International could represent the film at festivals in hopes of selling it to television or other outlets. The document determines that UK independent distributors like IVT, Film4, and BBC would be best suited to distribute an independent British thriller, rather than large Hollywood studios, due to the film's smaller budget and unknown cast.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Evaluation Activity 3
1. WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT
DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?
2. WHAT IS THE DISTRIBUTORS ROLE?
The distributor controls the marketing and circulation of movies in
theatres and also home viewing such as on DVD and blue ray.
Distributors control how media products are marketed to the
audience but also how they are marketed to appeal to the
audience in order to create a target market. This is vital because
if a film has not target audience or is not promoted no one will
know about it, without awareness the movie gains no profit.
A distributor is an individual or organisation who will represent
your film at festivals and markets around the world and who will
attempt to sell it to television (including terrestrial, cable and
satellite), airlines and other companies that show short films.
Some major short film distributors in the UK are (in alphabetical
order): Dazzle, Futureshorts, Network Ireland TV and Shorts
International.
3. COMPARISON: TO OTHER THRILLER OPENNINGS
Our film title and opening can be compared to The Black
Widow. This is because in The Black Widow the antagonist
challenges the typical stereotype as she is a woman who
goes from husband to husband killing them and taking their
money. However in our production the antagonist has a
different motive but the concept between the two correlate.
In addition our antagonist is implied though hints throughout
our opening but at the end of the opening it is clear, that it is
the little girl who people would least expected to be the
murderer.
4. Similarly in The Black Widow no one was aware that she
was the one conducting the murders but it was revealed and
the character challenges the typical gender of antagonist
and their motives. Additionally this is also where we
developed the name for our production and putting a twist
on it to make it original.
5. WHO WOULD DISTRIBUTE OUR FILM?
We decided that it would be more ideal if our thriller was an UK
independent short film this is because Hollywood distribution
companies are often a conglomerate company. Meaning that they
own a number of stages involved in getting a film to an audience
for example a studio may own the production company, the
distribution and marketing stages plus the exhibition stage. This is
why our production is more likely to be a UK independent
however that leaves the distribution or finding a distributor down
to us as a production company to distribute it to film festivals in
hopes to find a distributor. If a distributor is found it would be
successful but it would be our decision whether we take up the
offer or not. Examples of UK independent distributors are; IVT,
Film4 and BBC. Even though our story line being able to appeal
to a larger audience , our budget and unknown actresses will limit
us to production at a smaller scale than Hollywood blockbuster
standards.
7. INITIAL RELEASE?
The Initial release our production will be exhibited
by multiple local independent cinemas and houses
for example at the Watershed and the Regent
Street Cinema instead of a multiplex which has
chains of cinemas. Once the film is released and
has been viewed it will then be screen on television
and online sites where the viewer is able to pay to
watch it which will increase the revenue.
8. However not on illegal streaming sites as this will
not benefit us or bring, profit in for our production.
Additionally DVDs will be released also but at a
later date because they help to create a new
audience who may not have seen the film because
they prefer the home private viewing more. And the
fact that they are really cheap to make means more
profit for us.
9. MARKETING/ADVERTISING
The advertising of our film will mainly be on social media
because it is an indie and secondly, it is the cheapest form
of advertising. Through social platforms such as Instagram,
Facebook and Twitter this type of advertising also benefits
us because our target audience are apart of the younger
demographic. And the younger demographic which we are
targeting use social media outlets which means they will be
aware. Furthermore it spreads also though “WORD OF
MOUTH” which is when one person asks the other and the
other asks another and so on and this is another way that
information about the film will spread.
10. If our film was a Hollywood block buster we would
advertise in more expensive and bigger ways for
example on billboard, the side of buses, Ad-shells and
posters. Additionally, we would also have to promote
and have event such as film screening and have the
movie stars (the well known actors) to do interview at
radio stations or on television programmes for
examples THE REAL, THE WENDY WILLIAMS
SHOW- and more. But because we choses to be an
indie we also decided to put out trailers before the
release of our film. On YOUTUBE which is another
media platform we will have the sizzle, teaser and the
official trailer to create a BUZZ around the film.
11. PRODUCTION COMPANY
A production company helps to create the film its assists in budgeting ,casting, scripting and
more. The company usually looks over the film from when its just an idea to completion. They
are responsible if anything goes wrong on the film for instance if an actor was injured or if any
property is damaged.
