HOW EFFECTIVE IS
THE COMBINATION OF
YOUR MAIN PRODUCT
AND ANCILLARY
TEXTS?
OUR THREE MAIN PRODUCTS
When we were making our music video, digipak and website we made each of
them link to one another as this would make everything as professional as
possible. Therefore we used the same locations, font, outfit, artist and artist
images. These different elements would create media convergence and synergy
between each of the products.

We used synergy between these by using the same font and using outfits that
we have in our music video and the other main products.

DIGIPAK
The Digipak has been made from a variety of influences and inspirations from similar artists such as Bon Iver
and $uicideBoy$ and other artists that have good Digipaks such as The Weeknd as a very similar colour scheme
has been used. However what makes ours different compared to other Digipaks is that we created our own
image and artwork used on the Digipak and the imagery has been created by Ben. Each image on the Digipak
has been adjusted by contrast, brightness and colour have all been changed to make the Digipak images match
with the other images that in our other tasks such as the website. The images on the Digipak shows who the
artist is as it shows outfits and locations in each image, which have all been in the music video and the website.
The font used is the same font that has been used throughout all of our other products as this creates another
identification for our artist. Also by editing the images and the whole background of the Digipak it attracts our
target audience of those who listen to indie music. The symbols and the Iuris logo design ideas have also been
implemented into the Digipak which both can be identified as the artist.
MAGAZINE COVER
This is the poster that has been created for our tour dates
and this has been made by first of all taking a original poster
that has been used for an indie artist and each part has been
as close as possible been created on our poster for Iuris,
therefore making our poster as professional as possible. We
have included the artists face as the artists face has been
used in everything else therefore the artist can instantly be
identified. A bright yellow has been used as the background
colour to catch attention of our audience, which once
people see the poster they will then see that it is Iuris.
POSTER
Our poster has been made with two
images that are in the music video, the
same font that we have used
throughout all of our products for the
artist, the black and white colour
scheme, also used the main logo for
our artist and therefore aiming at
those who know Iuris and our
audience.
WEBSITE
Our website uses the artist and the
graffiti wall location as the home
page as this shows a clear link
between our other products and
our music video as the outfit is
also in the music video, this makes
the artist more recognisable
because if the music video has
been viewed the website images
will already be known.
WEBSITE :
MERCHANDISE
We have created a identifiable merchandise options on our website with the
artist name/logo as the main design. Using the same logo as we have used
throughout the rest of our products such as Tour Poster. I liked this design
because it was simple and a good way as identification for our artist as the logo
is placed throughout our ancillary task, therefore this made it look professional.
As the merchandise was created it is a unique and very original as it just shows
the logo of Iuris the artist.
MUSIC VIDEO
The music video has been created in the area that the artist has grown up in
and the areas are shown throughout the music video. Our video has been edited
so each scene has the leave colour effect which has been portrayed into the
website and digipak. Although there are bright colours throughout the whole
music video and when a drop occurs bright colours are presented, for example
the powder paint and the graffiti wall.
MUSIC VIDEO : SETTING
We had many locations in the music video, all easy and close to get to therefore
if there were any problems with filming or any footage was corrupt we were
able to go to the location again and get the footage that was required. To reflect
that the artist was being himself the footage is in the area he grew up in.
MUSIC VIDEO : COSTUME
We wanted the artist to dress simply and dress in what a indie artist would dress
in which was a simple white t-shirt, black jeans with vans as we did not want to
fall in the popular stereotype clothing. We researched similar artists and what
they wear in the music videos we knew the main colours and style of clothing
that the artist would wear. The outfits are also portrayed in the digipak and
website.
MUSIC VIDEO : EDITING
We used a lot of editing throughout the music video to make our artist suit the
genre and create the artists image. Each scene had been edited with leave
colour which was a main theme running throughout the music video and on
the drops is where all colour is presented. Slow motion and fast motion were
both used to make the music video more interesting. As each scene had been
edited this allowed us to use the scenes from the music video in the website and
digipak.
MUSIC VIDEO : LIGHTING
We mainly used high key lighting throughout the music video with some scenes
of low key lighting this was to make our music video look professional with the
diversity of the lighting and we made the lighting suit the beat of the music.

Evaluation

  • 1. HOW EFFECTIVE IS THE COMBINATION OF YOUR MAIN PRODUCT AND ANCILLARY TEXTS?
  • 2. OUR THREE MAIN PRODUCTS When we were making our music video, digipak and website we made each of them link to one another as this would make everything as professional as possible. Therefore we used the same locations, font, outfit, artist and artist images. These different elements would create media convergence and synergy between each of the products.   • 4. DIGIPAK The Digipak has been made from a variety of influences and inspirations from similar artists such as Bon Iver and $uicideBoy$ and other artists that have good Digipaks such as The Weeknd as a very similar colour scheme has been used. However what makes ours different compared to other Digipaks is that we created our own image and artwork used on the Digipak and the imagery has been created by Ben. Each image on the Digipak has been adjusted by contrast, brightness and colour have all been changed to make the Digipak images match with the other images that in our other tasks such as the website. The images on the Digipak shows who the artist is as it shows outfits and locations in each image, which have all been in the music video and the website. The font used is the same font that has been used throughout all of our other products as this creates another identification for our artist. Also by editing the images and the whole background of the Digipak it attracts our target audience of those who listen to indie music. The symbols and the Iuris logo design ideas have also been implemented into the Digipak which both can be identified as the artist.

MAGAZINE COVER This is the poster that has been created for our tour dates and this has been made by first of all taking a original poster that has been used for an indie artist and each part has been as close as possible been created on our poster for Iuris, therefore making our poster as professional as possible. We have included the artists face as the artists face has been used in everything else therefore the artist can instantly be identified. A bright yellow has been used as the background colour to catch attention of our audience, which once people see the poster they will then see that it is Iuris.
  • 6. POSTER Our poster has been made with two images that are in the music video, the same font that we have used throughout all of our products for the artist, the black and white colour scheme, also used the main logo for our artist and therefore aiming at those who know Iuris and our audience.
  • 7. WEBSITE Our website uses the artist and the graffiti wall location as the home page as this shows a clear link between our other products and our music video as the outfit is also in the music video, this makes the artist more recognisable because if the music video has been viewed the website images will already be known.
  • 8. WEBSITE : MERCHANDISE We have created a identifiable merchandise options on our website with the artist name/logo as the main design. Using the same logo as we have used throughout the rest of our products such as Tour Poster. I liked this design because it was simple and a good way as identification for our artist as the logo is placed throughout our ancillary task, therefore this made it look professional. As the merchandise was created it is a unique and very original as it just shows the logo of Iuris the artist.
  • 9. MUSIC VIDEO The music video has been created in the area that the artist has grown up in and the areas are shown throughout the music video. Our video has been edited so each scene has the leave colour effect which has been portrayed into the website and digipak. Although there are bright colours throughout the whole music video and when a drop occurs bright colours are presented, for example the powder paint and the graffiti wall.
  • 10. MUSIC VIDEO : SETTING We had many locations in the music video, all easy and close to get to therefore if there were any problems with filming or any footage was corrupt we were able to go to the location again and get the footage that was required. To reflect that the artist was being himself the footage is in the area he grew up in.

MUSIC VIDEO : COSTUME We wanted the artist to dress simply and dress in what a indie artist would dress in which was a simple white t-shirt, black jeans with vans as we did not want to fall in the popular stereotype clothing. We researched similar artists and what they wear in the music videos we knew the main colours and style of clothing that the artist would wear. The outfits are also portrayed in the digipak and website.
  • 12. MUSIC VIDEO : EDITING We used a lot of editing throughout the music video to make our artist suit the genre and create the artists image. Each scene had been edited with leave colour which was a main theme running throughout the music video and on the drops is where all colour is presented. Slow motion and fast motion were both used to make the music video more interesting. As each scene had been edited this allowed us to use the scenes from the music video in the website and digipak.
  • 13. MUSIC VIDEO : LIGHTING We mainly used high key lighting throughout the music video with some scenes of low key lighting this was to make our music video look professional with the diversity of the lighting and we made the lighting suit the beat of the music.
