How Can You Get Dubai Call Girls +971564860409 Call Girls Dubai?
Evaluation question 1.
1. In what ways does your media
product use develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real
media products?
2. We like this scene at the beginning our music
video as it sets the scene for the whole video,
it shows MYA’s point of view which is
continues throughout the whole video.
This is another important scene in the video
as it is the first time the audience is able to
see MYA and be able to identify what she
looks like. If we didn’t show this lip-syncing
then it wouldn’t be clear that MYA is the artist
in the song.
This scene is important as is shows pictures
of MYA and her friends, which is the main
focus of the music video. If we didn’t show
this then it wouldn’t be clear who the girls in
the video are.
This scene is important in our music video
because it is the first time the audience see’s
the shoes that the artist is wearing. The
shoes feature throughout the video to
emphasise that the video is the artists point
of view.
The whole music video focuses on a day in
the life of the artist which includes her
spending the day with her friends. This scene
properly hows the friends and when MYA
takes a photo of them, it is again reenforcing
the idea that the video is showing what MYA
is seeing,
This is our favourite location out of our whole
music video that we filmed in, is shows how
creative we were in term of finding intriguing
locations to film in. This location is an asset to
our music video as it is so different to our
other scenes and it bright and colourful.
3. For the main media products, our digipak, website, music video we used various artists for
inspiration. We also researched other celebrities for inspiration in terms of the styling of our
artist. Although we were influenced by other famous pop artists, we still wanted to create a
unique artist. We challenged other artists by creating our own style to address our target
audience so that we would like every other female artist.
We initially used
this photo for
inspiration for our
digipak cover. We
decided to take
the photo from
behind instead of
having such a
posed photo.
4. What is a music video?
VERNALLIS GOODWIN
• We learnt about Carol Vernallis’ Music
Video Theory. This theory is based of music
editing, including four key concepts;
Narrative, Editing, Camera Movement and
Framing and Diegesis.
• Vernallis said that there does not
necessarily need to be an equal balance
between narrative and performance and
the narrative is not always completed, it
may be disjointed or fragmented.
• Goodwin stated that there were 5 key
aspects to a music video; thought through
beat, the relationship between the music
lyrics and the visuals, narrative and
performance of the song., star image and
then the technical aspect of a music video.
5. Our music video is an example of Andrew
Goodwin's theory that the events and
visuals in a video both amplify and
illustrate the lyrics. We used thought
through beat within our editing to match
the beat of the song, for example we was
cut to different scenes in time of the
music. It also supports some of Carol
Vernallis's theory that there does not
necessarily need to be an equal balance
between narrative and performance. Our
video has minimal performance because
we wanted to maintain the idea that the
audience can see everything that is
happening through the artists point of
view when we were using the go pro.
Here is an example
of how our music
cuts in time with
the music.
6. Photoshoots.
Throughout the process
of our music video, the
style of our artist
changed. We began with
a very edgy style using
inspiration from ‘Pia Mia.’
We developed her style
and created our own, we
incorporated some of her
looks with other items of
clothing that we deemed
to be more appropriate
for our music video,
whilst still portraying an
edgy style.
We noticed that a lot of photos were
taken either in front of a green screen
or a white backdrop. We challenged
these photos my shooting in front of a
graffiti wall which is a natural
background without any alterations.
We wanted to shoot outside as all of
the filming in our video was going to
be point of view and there wasn’t
going to be any set up backgrounds,
so we didn’t want to contradict the
whole point of our video originally.
After experimenting with
the style of our artist we
decided that although we
wanted to challenge the
stereotype of young
artists, we needed to
style our artist in a way
that was relatable to
other girls of a similar
age, so they can relate to
the artist. We evaluated
celebrities who had a
large following such as
Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé.
Rihanna and Selena
Gomez and decided that
Selena Gomez would be
good to use for inspiration
in terms of outfits and the
way she represents
herself to her fans. We
developed images of
Selena In her ‘Kill ‘em
with kindness’ and ‘Good
for you’ video and styled
our artist in a similar way
for our digipak and
photos for our website
and also on our social
media accounts.
7. Website.
When making our website we
decided to research other artists
websites who are directed at a
similar target audience so that
we could develop our website
into a professional standard. We
analysed Ellie Gouldings website
and developed aspects into our
artists website.
Instead of having a
normal gallery with
still photo that was
similar to Ellie
Gouldings site, we
challenged this by
having live photo
album that is
constantly rotating
through photos of
MYA.
Another way in which we challenged
our researched websites was that we
included a live Instagram feed that
automatically uploaded onto the site
every time we posted! If you clicked
on the Instagram photo, it then
directs you to the official Instagram
page.
8. Genre.
Our genre of the song we had chosen is POP. We chose a song that suited the ‘pop’ genre because we
decided that we would have the ability to address our chosen target audience of 15-25 if we were to
create an artist that represented a fun, upbeat song. We researched lots of music videos that we
thought we could challenge by using the go pro to portray a day in the life of our artist.
We knew we wanted to have a POV video
so we viewed the Vamps - All Night. It was
similar to ours in the sense that they do the
POV with a wide view however they keep
giving the camera to another person to
show all of the group, however as a group,
we challenged this by only showing what
our artist could see to keep the point of
view as realistic as possible and portraying
the idea that the go pro is the artists eyes
as opposed to someone obviously filming.
We also took inspiration from a
television advert that shows a
point of view throughout the
whole video. The song in the
background is a well known pop
song – Jess Glynne/Hold My
Hand. The song conformed to
Goodwin's theory of event in a
music video illustrating the lyrics
in the song which inspired us to
pursue the point of view theme
throughout our music video.
We researched and
developed lots of POV videos
that showed people getting
ready. We showed the artist
waking up as opposed to
just washing in the
bathroom.
9. When we were researching our stealoamatics we loved this video of ZENDAYA lip syncing in her music
video, we loved that although there were lots of cuts and styling changes, the shot stayed as a close up
shot throughout. We used the close up shot idea for our lip-syncing just without the hair and makeup
changes and developed it by editing the video into a black and white effect to create synergy within our
digipak and website. Although we liked the idea of lots of cuts and changes, we decided that because
the focus of our video was the point of view which doesn’t consist of lots of forced editing in terms of
chopping and changing into different scenes.
Lip Syncing.
