What is evaluation?
Evaluation is a process that critically examines a
program. It involves collecting and analyzing
information about a program’s activities,
characteristics, and outcomes. Its purpose is to make
judgments about a program, to improve its
effectiveness, and/or to inform programming decisions
(Patton, 1987).
WHAT IS EVALUATION?
• Evaluation refers to a periodic process of gathering data and then analyzing
or ordering it in such a way that the resulting information can be used to
determine whether your organization or program is effectively carrying out
planned activities, and the extent to which it is achieving its stated objectives
and anticipated results.
MANAGEMENT OF EVALUATION
• Describe what needs to be evaluated
• Develop the evaluation brief
• Engage Evaluation team
• Manage development Evaluation design
• Manage evaluation of the work plan
• Manage implementation of the work plan
• Disseminate the report

Evaluation

  • 2. What is evaluation? Evaluation is a process that critically examines a program. It involves collecting and analyzing information about a program’s activities, characteristics, and outcomes. Its purpose is to make judgments about a program, to improve its effectiveness, and/or to inform programming decisions (Patton, 1987).

WHAT IS EVALUATION? • Evaluation refers to a periodic process of gathering data and then analyzing or ordering it in such a way that the resulting information can be used to determine whether your organization or program is effectively carrying out planned activities, and the extent to which it is achieving its stated objectives and anticipated results.
