What is ethics:
 Ethics isn a branch of philosopy that
systematizes,defends and recommends
concept of right and wrong conduct.
 Ethics is commonly used interchangeably
with morality.
 It is syetem of moral priciples.
 ‘’Ethics’’ this term derived from Greek word
which mean custom,habit,character or
disposition

guid the behavior of an individual a business or a culture..
Ethics in public relation
Ethics in education: it promotes honest academic inquiry and teaches
students ethical behavior in the process
Food and public health safety: its produced good quality of food and
safe from many dieases for ethical issue.

Bangladesh Standard Specifications (BDS) = 10% of Fruit Pulp.
High level of heavy metal in imported milk powder
Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) has made the examinations of lead (Pb) compulsory
for all imported powdered milk .
But the tests found up to 0.1 mg per kg that is very alarming for public
health.
the maximum accepted level of lead (Pb) for milk powder is 0.02 mg per
kg.
Risk of Food
Risk of food more likely to cause food poisoning. Children
younger than five in Bangladesh are the greatest risk from
eating unsafe food, which causes at least of death.
Most food poisoning is caused by bacteria. It can also be caused by
1. Virus.
2. Parasites.
3. Chemicals that may get into food.
The food contamination and food adulteration situation of
Bangladesh are:
1.Serious public health concern.
2.Life-long diseases.
3.Diarrhoeal diseases.
4.As well as various forms of cancer.
People are mixing formalin like drug,

There are some government and non-government Agencies for
food safety in Bangladesh :
 Bangladesh Food Safety Authority
 Consumers Association of Bangladesh
 Directorate General of Food
 Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection
Bangladesh Food Safety Authority
 Ensure the effective and uniform enforcement of food regulations
 Monitoring the safety of the food supply chain
 Coordinating the work of the many official food controlling agencies
 Upgrading the food safety standards or guidelines
 Accrediting food testing laboratories of food Industries
Consumers Association of Bangladesh
 Protecting Consumer Food Rights
 Creating Social awareness about food safety
 Campaigning against harmful drugs and Tobacco
 Food Quality Testing
Directorate General of Food
 Managing and operating of country's overall food system
 Establishing of dependable national food security system
 Adjusting food Safety Policy
 Making Rules for ensuring food safety
Government Activities for Food Safety and Public Health
 Made Food Safety Act 2013
 Formed National Food Safety Management Advisory Council
 Upgrading laws against Admixture of food
 Forming Mobile Court to stop indiscipline in Food sector
 In Bangladesh most of the foodstuffs are unsafe for consumption.
 This problem occurs at every level of the food chain from
preparation to consumption.
 Food manufactures and restaurants are involved in this corruption.
 Foods are adulterated by using various chemicals and toxic colors.
 This unhygienic and unsafe treatment of food is causing public
health.
 Because of this numerous chronic and non chronic diseases are
occurring.
 Fruits and vegetables are the main source
 of nutrition.
 People are sacred of buying fruits from market due to
food adulteration.
 The newspapers have out and out conferred it as silent
killer.
 Farmers use a cocktail of toxic chemicals in their efforts
to fight insect pests and they are not sufficiently aware
of that.
 The results also indicate deliberate adulteration of
produce to extend its shelf life using chemical
preservatives without concern for the health of
consumers.

What is ethics:  Ethics isn a branch of philosopy that systematizes,defends and recommends concept of right and wrong conduct.  Ethics is commonly used interchangeably with morality.  It is syetem of moral priciples.  ‘’Ethics’’ this term derived from Greek word which mean custom,habit,character or disposition Introduction

  • 5. Main areas in food ethics  Food security- food for all  Food safety-non-contaminated food  Nutritional values-health,modified foods like functional food etc  Food system with health system raise numerous ethical issue about individual and public health.

Importance of ethics Workplace Ethics: Privacy and dignity: testing,harassment conscience: conflicts of interest, blind ,loyality ,whistle blowing downsizing ,operations Fairness: discrimination,QWL,respect to family Ethics and social responsibility: its responsibility in workplace,business and social.. Code of ethics: It is a systemetic set of rules and procedures used to guid the behavior of an individual a business or a culture.. Ethics in public relation Ethics in education: it promotes honest academic inquiry and teaches students ethical behavior in the process Food and public health safety: its produced good quality of food and safe from many dieases for ethical issue.

  • 10. High level of heavy metal in imported milk powder Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) has made the examinations of lead (Pb) compulsory for all imported powdered milk . But the tests found up to 0.1 mg per kg that is very alarming for public health. the maximum accepted level of lead (Pb) for milk powder is 0.02 mg per kg.
  • 11. Risk of Food Risk of food more likely to cause food poisoning. Children younger than five in Bangladesh are the greatest risk from eating unsafe food, which causes at least of death. Most food poisoning is caused by bacteria. It can also be caused by 1. Virus. 2. Parasites. 3. Chemicals that may get into food.
  • 12. The food contamination and food adulteration situation of Bangladesh are: 1.Serious public health concern. 2.Life-long diseases. 3.Diarrhoeal diseases. 4.As well as various forms of cancer.

Bangladesh Food Safety Authority  Ensure the effective and uniform enforcement of food regulations  Monitoring the safety of the food supply chain  Coordinating the work of the many official food controlling agencies  Upgrading the food safety standards or guidelines  Accrediting food testing laboratories of food Industries
  • 16. Consumers Association of Bangladesh  Protecting Consumer Food Rights  Creating Social awareness about food safety  Campaigning against harmful drugs and Tobacco  Food Quality Testing

  • 19.  In Bangladesh most of the foodstuffs are unsafe for consumption.  This problem occurs at every level of the food chain from preparation to consumption.  Food manufactures and restaurants are involved in this corruption.  Foods are adulterated by using various chemicals and toxic colors.  This unhygienic and unsafe treatment of food is causing public health.  Because of this numerous chronic and non chronic diseases are occurring.
  • 20.  Fruits and vegetables are the main source  of nutrition.  People are sacred of buying fruits from market due to food adulteration.  The newspapers have out and out conferred it as silent killer.  Farmers use a cocktail of toxic chemicals in their efforts to fight insect pests and they are not sufficiently aware of that.  The results also indicate deliberate adulteration of produce to extend its shelf life using chemical preservatives without concern for the health of consumers.
