Purpose: To analyze the influence of various surgical factors on the post operative corneal refractive
power and astigmatism after keratoplasty in eyes with corneal diseases.
Methods: Retrospective study of 100 eyes with clear grafts six months following keratoplasty, the
influence of different surgical factors (technique of keratoplasty, type of suturing, size of trephination)
on the post operative corneal refractive power and astigmatism was analyzed. All included patients
signed an informed consent.
Results: Around 70% of the cases of the four subgroups had keratoconus. The flattest 6 months
postoperative keratometric readings was the penetrating keratoplasty (PK) with interrupted sutures
subgroup with mean 43.90 + 3.09 D. The steepest was the deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK)
with double running sutures subgroup with mean 45.30 + 1.70 D. The highest 6 months postoperative
astigmatism was the PK with interrupted sutures subgroup with mean 7.15 + 1.95 D. The lowest was
the PK with double running sutures subgroup with mean 2.36 + 1.15 D.
Conclusion: Interrupted sutures resulted in significantly higher postoperative astigmatism in both PK
and DALK before suture removal.

A concept of freedom (or liberty) has been the foundation of the United States since its founding in
1776. After all, its Declaration of Independence states that every citizen deserves the rights to Life,
Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness . However, Liberty doesn t just mean a literal freedom from
captivity, or the right to live independently from the rule of a monarch. The Constitution preserves
multiple different types of Liberty, including the freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom
of the press, and many more. With American Literature, the authors expressed these freedoms through
their works, but there was a point in time (1820 1865) where freedoms of thought and expression were
the primary ideas for most of the texts. During this period, the authors openly voiced their discontent
with institutions and systems, such as slavery, criticizing them for how they restrict people from
thinking for themselves. They also demonstrated their freedom of expression through the text itself,

Having depression since middle school, I have always had issues coping and keeping my emotions
under control. In high school I finally got the help I thought I needed. Going to my doctor and having
