Essays On Learning
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essays On Learning" can be a challenging but rewarding task.
The difficulty lies not only in the need to articulate your thoughts coherently but also in
exploring the vast and diverse landscape of learning itself. Learning is a multifaceted concept
that encompasses various disciplines, methods, and theories, making it a broad and intricate
subject to delve into.
The challenge begins with defining the scope of your essay. Are you focusing on a specific
aspect of learning, such as formal education, informal learning, or the psychology of learning?
Determining the boundaries of your discussion is crucial to avoid the essay becoming too broad
or too narrow.
Once the scope is established, the next hurdle is to conduct thorough research. Given the
extensive literature on learning, it can be overwhelming to sift through the wealth of information
available. Selecting relevant and credible sources becomes a meticulous task, requiring a
discerning eye to identify key insights that contribute to the understanding of your chosen theme.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement is another aspect that adds to the complexity. Your thesis
should not only reflect the essence of your essay but also provide a roadmap for the reader. It is
the anchor that guides your arguments and helps maintain coherence throughout the paper.
The body of the essay demands a balance between depth and breadth. Each paragraph should
contribute to the overall narrative, providing insights, evidence, and analysis. Managing the flow
of ideas and maintaining a logical progression can be challenging, requiring careful planning and
organization.
Furthermore, the conclusion should not merely summarize your points but offer a synthesis of
the key ideas and leave a lasting impression on the reader. It's the final opportunity to underscore
the significance of your exploration into the diverse realms of learning.
In the end, while the difficulty of writing an essay on "Essays On Learning" is evident, the
reward lies in the opportunity to contribute to the discourse on a subject that is fundamental to
human growth and development. However, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that

Role of The Tannery in the novel Nectar in a Sieve Essay
Question: What role does the tannery, in Rukmani s city, have throughout the book?
Explain. Also, be sure to discuss what effect it had on the people. In almost every
novel, there is at least one culprit or menace. He or she usually causes problems and
in more exciting works, ends up murdering one of the protagonists. Hence, in the
erratic novel Nectar in a Sieve, which is set in India during the early 1950 s, there has
been a troublemaker, just hidden and extremely indirect in his actions. What s his
name? one might ask. The answer: the tannery. This corporation alone forces
Rukmani and her husband Nathan off their land, takes away Rukmani s sons, and
ultimately, kills her husband. By being the culprit in the book, the tannery... Show

As the quote states, Rukmani s hunch did come true and the tannery buys Rukmani
and Nathan s land. To the affect of this, Nathan and Rukmani decide to reside with
their most successful son, or so they would think. Murugan mysteriously
disappears and leaves the couple homeless. Living with no roof over his head, and
eating miniscule portions, Nathan becomes horribly sick and ends up dying. It is
important the reader connects Nathan s death to the tannery buying his land. This
quote shows the harsh conditions Rukmani and Nathan had to deal with to
survive. [Rukmani Narrates] We ate once a day and that was all: when the day for
buying cloth to cover ourselves with, or a mat to lie on, or medicines for Nathan
while he fevered, there would be nothing (Markandaya 175). All these sufferings
and poverty are the effect of Nathan and Rukmani not being able to compensate for
the loss of their land which was brought by the tannery. So, the tannery assumes the
role of bully in this situation by killing the father of a family. This depicts how the
tannery is the indirect murderer in Nectar in a Sieve, making it the antagonist.
Although the tannery did murder Nathan and throw a family on the streets, the
pioneer business did shed some light on the industrial side of India. For over 80
years, Great Britain colonized India. The novel s time period is set up just after India
gains its
How Musi Music Changed My Life
Ever since a young age I have known I enjoy being the center of attention. I aspire
and chase after the satisfaction of performing perfect pieces of choreography.
Whether that is hitting the right note in a song, or dancing my heart out on a
stage. It makes me feel as though nothing is wrong and ignites endorphins in my
brain. I m in love with the feeling of my heart pacing fast, and then slowly easing
into comfort the more time I spend on the stage. This love fuels the months of
endless practice leading up. I was born with a voice and at 5 years old I was put in
vocal lessons, at the local ABC Music. The first song I sang and played on the piano
was Part of Your World from the little mermaid. I still hear the claps of the audience
at my vocal instructors house. Singing is very meaningful to me, in fact I cannot
stop myself, all my favorite songs just blurt out of my mouth. Music has the ability to
evoke such deep emotions and beautiful voices aspire me to keep practicing.... Show

Dancing gives me a place to be my self, and is my outlet from stress and daily life.
The moment the song begins i am a mirror image of the piece, my arms swing high
as the beat takes my feet away. I express whatever pain or hardship i am partaking in
through a heart felt face. My love for dance led me to try out for Advanced Dance my
junior year. Dance has allowed me to meet an amazing group of people, while
letting me show off my goofy personality. Being able compliment a beautiful music
piece singing or dancing is a rush like no other. Music is my life, and it has been a
vice for me growing up. Choreographing and writing songs ignites the creator within
me, theres no other satisfaction then watching a personal designed dance, or singing

The Decline Of Alcoholic Beverages
The earliest alcoholic beverages may have been made from berries or and
winemaking may have originated in the wild grape regions of the Middle East.
(Hanson, 1995). A variety of alcoholic beverages have been used in China since
prehistoric times China perceived alcohol as spiritual food rather than a material
food (Hanson, 1995). From the earliest recorded use of alcohol, drinking has been
a social activity, and both consumption and behavior have been subject to self
imposed social controls. The future of children who grow up in alcoholic families.
(1) The term Adult Children of Alcoholics also referred to as ACA s has become
more popular in the psychology /mental health world. The term also can be called
Adult children of dysfunctional families (ACDF s) which means a person/people
who have lived in such dysfunction. People who have grown up in dysfunctional
families are put in a group to easily identify them. (2) Alcohol problems don t just
hurt the drinker. According to NIAAA, more than half of Americans have at least
one close relative with a drinking problem. Spouses and children of heavy drinkers
are more likely to face family violence; children are more likely to suffer physical
and sexual abuse and neglect and to develop psychological problems. Women who
drink during pregnancy run a serious risk of damaging their fetuses. Relatives and
friends can be killed or injured in alcohol related accidents and assaults (Association,
2007). For many people, drinking

Muted Group Theory
Muted group theory is a critical theory concerned with how gender, power, and
communication relate to one another. It focuses on the ways the communication
practices of a dominant groups suppress, mute, or devalue the words, ideas, and
discourses of subordinate groups (Kramarae, 2009). The theory focuses on people
with various social status and how they communicate. For example, it emphasizes
how much these people speak, when and where they speak, with what words and
concepts, in what modes or channels, and with what repercussions (Kramarae,
2018). The muted group theory also brings to light the ways that language structure
and customs are not equal for all speakers. The theory suggests that an important
way that a social group creates and maintains its dominance is by stifling the speech
and ideas of those the dominant group has labeled as outside the privileged circle
(Kramarae, 2009). The muted group theory has been extensively used by researchers
in diverse fields of study. Some of these fields of study include communication
studies, media studies, philosophy, athletics, business, literacy, political science,...

Many of the strengths of the muted group theory have to do with the information it
provides. For example, the muted group theory has given a new way of understanding
how the majority group and the minorities group communicate within society. Muted
group theory explains some problems women experience in speaking out in many
settings (West, 2010). Additionally, the theory has caused society to think about how
gender, power, and communication relate to one another. Furthermore, the theory has
also caused society to reconsider and reform the ways and methods in which
communication occurs. Moreover, the theory brings to light the biases within
language and how these biases affect the minority groups. Finally, the muted group
theory can be applied to various groups not only men and
Media Rationale and Publicity of the Christian Louboutin...
Media rationale and publicity Ever since Christian Louboutin opened his flagship
store in 1991, his brand has pursued a marketing strategy that has focused upon
shoes as art rather than shoes as functional objects of clothing. Most of his shoes
are famously uncomfortable, and when speaking to a fashion reporter from the
New Yorker, Louboutin stated he was proud of the difficulty that women had
ambulating in his footwear (Collins 2011: 2). However, unlike some luxury or
high end fashion shoe companies, Louboutin does not market his shoes as trendy.
He is uninterested in shoes that are flat, regardless of the current vulgarities of
consumer demand. Instead, his shoes are intended to be an assault on the eyes and
on good taste, incorporating motifs from Salvador Dali and David Lynch into their
design. To promote his shoes, rather than price them at a variety of price points,
Louboutin has kept the pricing extremely high at every level of the brand. This has
cemented his reputation as a luxury brand of note. His shoes have topped Luxury
Brand Status Index (LBSI) since he became a breakout star in 2007 onwards
(Collins 2011:2). To wear a custom Louboutin means that a consumer has the
ability to pay as much as $10,000 for a shoe with expensive fur or jewels.
Louboutin sells more than five hundred thousand pairs of shoes a year, at prices
ranging from three hundred and ninety five dollars, for an espadrille, to six thousand,
for a super platform pump covered in thousands of
How Democracy Can Be Divided Into Separate Different
Types
Democracy can be divided into separate different types. Presidentialism is a
democratic type of government where president is either the head of state or a
representative to the parliament. There are also hybrid regimes that combine
different type of democracies to best fit that country s needs. In other words, there are
many types of democracies, although this essay will focus on three types of
democratic systems: the presidential system, the semi presidential system, and the
parliamentary system. As for countries that are transitioning from authoritarianism to
democracy, they need a type of government that would not bring a sudden change to
the political status quo, for it could be devastating, but also slowly, yet steadily,
introduce democratic type of governing. It would also need to be resilient to a
collapse of democracy and be just at the same time. This essay will try to cover types
of democratic systems, including both positive and negative sides, and explain what
sort of democratic government would be the best for a country transitioning into a
democratic state.
To fully analyse what form of executive would be for a country that is transforming
into a democracy, what types of democratic governing there are and what executive
elements they use. There are more than several types of democratic governing that
consists of variety of executives. In a full residential state, the president acts as the
main executive power. The president in such state can veto legislative
Essay on Joseph McCarthy and McCarthyism
The Second Red Scare was a period of heightened fears of the Soviet Union and the
political ideology of Communism. The paranoia and hysteria inherent to this period
led to discrimination of Communists. Joseph McCarthy was a main player in this Red
Scare, which was sometimes called the Witch Hunts in Washington. He was a
Wisconsin senator who made claims against those whom he suspected of being
Communists or Communist sympathizers.
Joseph McCarthy was born in a small town in Wisconsin on November 15, 1908.
After quitting school at the age of fourteen, he had a short stint as a chicken farmer
and became the manager of a local grocery store ( McCarthy ). At the age of twenty
he completed the four year high school curriculum in nine short ... Show more content

His accusations generated national interest and gained him a significant amount of
fame, or rather, infamy. However, it was later found out that the piece of paper he d
been holding during that speech had merely been his laundry receipt (Bates). Even
so, McCarthy was already well on his way to becoming one of the most notable
communist hunters in U.S. history.
The Second Red Scare took place during the Cold War. It arose largely due to
widespread fear of the Communistic Soviet Union, but also due to strong opposition
to Truman s New Deal, mostly by conservative Republicans who equated the Deal s
labor unions and social programs to Communism ( The Second ). McCarthy began
his hearings in order to identify what he believed was a Communist conspiracy, and
stop the supposed Communist infiltration into the government. He has often been
criticized for the methods he used in these hearings. For example, his executive
sessions, a term which usually was synonymous with closed, were, as John G.
Adams, the army s counsel at many hearings, put it, neither closed nor secret,
essentially boiling down to that Joe could do whatever he wanted (U.S. Senate xix).
McCarthy s harsh methods were often criticized, and in 1954, the Senate censured
him for his non cooperation with and abuse of the Subcommittee on Privileges and

Have you ever thought about the similarities and differences between to different

Also, you can find major tradition differences between two different countries. A
Capital is usually the biggest city in a country. I have been to Washington D.C and Al
Riyadh, they both are cities from two different countries which are the United States
and Saudi Arabia. we can compare and contrast both cities in terms of food, weather,
and festivals.
To begin with the similarity, DC and Al Riyadh are both big capital cities because as
I mentioned above usually a capital is the big city in the country. You can find in the

Susan B Anthony In The Progressive Era
The Progressive Era was full of people wanting to change their surroundings and laws
in life. There were abolitionists, women s rights activists, education reformists, and
many other titles that people took to change the inhumane lives that they were being
lead by. One woman in particular, Susan B. Anthony, took on more than just one of
these titles. She took on much more than most others would or could have.
Anthony was born in February of 1820 in Adams, Massachusetts. She was raised in a
Quaker family with activist traditions. Having been brought up in this kind of
household she learned at a young age what was moral and had a keen sense of justice.
Growing up in a Quaker household Anthony was taught that drinking liquor was

Another one of Susan B. Anthony s greatest impacts is her importance in women s
suffrage. After her and Stanton s petition for more laws on limiting the sales of
alcohol was declined because the amount of women s signatures was greater than the
amount of men s
Anthony became greatly infuriated on the point that woman had no say in the
government. In
1866, Stanton and Anthony founded the American Equal Rights Association and
started printing a newspaper in Rochester, The Revolution, in 1868. In 1869 the
suffrage movement split, with
Anthony and Stanton s National Association continuing to campaign for a
constitutional amendment, and the American Woman Suffrage Association adopting
a strategy of getting the vote for women on a stateВbyВstate basis. Wyoming became
the first territory to give women the vote in 1869. In the 1870 s Anthony campaigned
vigorously for women s right to vote, and
Satire In Political Cartoons
Political cartoons and satire are a prevalent way to depict the current viewpoints in
the political system. In some cases, the cartoons can polarize people when they push
the envelope too far. However, in many cases, Democrats and Republicans alike can
join in laughing at the humor intended by the illustrators and writers. For my cartoon,
I chose to draw a picture of an elephant crushing Donald Trump, the Republican
presidential candidate. The meaning behind my cartoon is that even Republicans are
trying to keep Trump from saying all the highly opinionated, offensive, and negative
things in his political campaign. Elephants represent the Republicans, and the
Democrats are symbolized as Donkeys. In my cartoon, the elephant sitting on Trump
Assault On Gun Control
Assault on Gun Control
Over the years gun control has been an issue that has been argued over and over.
Some say stricter laws are needed to control the guns that are out in the public.
Other say harsher background checks need to be done. Even gone as far as
banning certain weapons that someone can own in the United States. But not
matter what laws or restrictions are in place, the fact remains, guns don t kill
people, people kill people. First, I want to define a question that people have. What
is the definition of a mass shooting? Since I will be talking about this a little I want
to define a mass shooting. There is not a specific definition of mass shooting, an
accepted one says that an incident in which at least four people are shot (injured or
killed) is considered a mass shooting. The FBI, only considers an incident a mass
murder if three or more people are killed Lord (2017) So some of the facts or
statistics may not be as correct as one would like. This is tough when trying to
present an accurate figure during an argument.
Everyone is so eager to jump on the band wagon to restrict or ban weapons or
mainly semi/full automatic assault style weapons. They talk about the mass
shootings of recent time; Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, 26 deaths, Route
91 Music Fest in Las Vegas, 58 deaths, and 26 deaths at the Baptist church in Texas.
Nestel Keneally (2017) These are all because of semiautomatic or fully automatic
weapons. These facts are true. But they
The Election Day Fast Approaches
In a democratic society, it is vital for citizens to participate in the electoral process
and chose their desired leader. As Election Day fast approaches, many Canadians
are faced with the challenge of who to vote for and in order to have a meaningful
voice, it is essential for Canadians to acquire an adequate understanding of the major
parties platforms. Among the major parties are Steven Harper s Conservative Party,
Justin Trudeau s Liberal Party and Tom Mulcair s New Democratic Party and each
have a unique plan to help Canadaprosper. In my selected article, Mark Kennedy
highlights key issues in each party s platform including taxation, balancing the budget
and views on the niqab. From the competing platforms, it is evident that the Liberals
have a stronger plan than their fellow parties.
One major area of focus in this election is taxation and each party has a unique way
to lower taxes for Canadians. The Conservative s are assuring lower taxes for
Canadians while also providing tax breaks such as universal child care benefits,
income splitting for families, higher contribution limits for Tax free Savings
Accounts, and a home renovation tax credit (Kennedy). Although the assistance these
tax breaks offer some Canadians is undeniable, the author of the article fails to
mention the costs at which these benefits are received. For instance, the income
splitting tax benefit being implanted by the Conservatives is predicted to cost 2.2
billion dollars this year while

If insufficient fertiliser or the wrong nutrients are applied productivity can be
compromised. Hence, it is important farmers undertake regular soil and leaf analysis
to determine an appropriate fertiliser regime for maximum production (Queensland
Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, 2012). The climate evidently
has a huge influence on productivity. For example, temperatures over 30 degrees can
limit flower and pollen production, whilst temperatures below 10 degrees can limit
vegetative growth both of which in turn limit yields (Janick and Paull, 2008).
Although the extent of damage may vary depending on the specific variety of
passionfruit under production. Hence, the variety of passionfruit can limit
productivity. Different varieties are suited to different climates and growing
conditions. In general yellow fruited varieties are more productive and produce
higher yields than purple fruited varieties. However there are a large variety of
different cultivars and hybrids which vary in productivity and yields (Queensland
Government Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, 2012). The presence of ample
pollinators such as carpenter bees has significant impacts on productivity. Without
sufficient levels of pollinators to ensure all flowers are pollinated, production can be
severely limited (Bee Aware,
Spanish And English Language Development

(Introduction) I grew up in a Hispanic household and was taught Spanish at a very
young age. I spoke only Spanish until I began kindergarten. My school only
permitted English, thus I was placed in an English Language Development course
that helped me learn English. My parents spoke English and Spanish, so I was able
to practice my English with them as well. I was in the E.L.D course from first to
fourth grade. Slowly but surely I was able to communicate effectively, I still struggle
with the English grammar. Due to the drastic change from Spanish to English, my
ability to speak Spanish began to deteriorate and slowly began to turn into Spanglish.

some letters are not pronounced in particular words. For example, hombre which
means man, is pronounced as ohmbre , and the letter J actually sounds like the H
in the spanish alphabet for instance, san juan. I feel though that the English
language is a much more difficult language compared to Spanish because it has so
many rules that one needs to follow. For instance, Spanish just has those 5 vowels
if you learn them and learn how to pronounce them you are set. (Comparison of
Grammar) I will be comparing the gender agreement in Spanish and English. In
Spanish all nouns are either feminine or masculine (La y El ) and the adjectives
have to agree with the noun that is being described. So if the noun is masculine, the
adjective must be masculine and if the same noun is as well plural, the adjective
will be masculine and plural. For instance, El libro masculine and plural, whereas
Los libros is all parts masculine and plural as well. Looking at the English language

has been minimal at the public policy and decision making levels. Lack of
commitment for increased women participation and absence of sufficient political

Argumentative Essay On Night By Elie Wiesel
There has always been great activists, some are professors, such as Elie Wiesel but
most importantly,, we are human beings and part of a community. Being able to
help is to stand up for others beliefs in religion, culture, race and most of all
political views. For that, i do agree with Elie, i want to believe in a place that a
human being is more important than social standards. Many injustices have
happened, one of the most horrific events in history would be the Holocaust, but
over time we learn how to get the attention to help change any situation, like the
day president Trump was sworn in, everyone thought that we would be made
unimportant, put aside, and that is the reason why protests for women s and
immigrants rights were conducted. During the holocaust, many Jews were
persecuted, killed and tortured because of their religion and it kept happening for
years, but sadly no one ever did anything about it and millions of lives were lost.
Mr. Elie Wiesel was one of the brave survivors of such a horrid event. He had hope

Doublethink In 1984 By George Orwell
George Orwell in his dystopian, political and social work of fiction Nineteen
Eighty Four (ofttimes printed as 1984), published in 1949 defined the concept of
doublethink via a book in the novel titled The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical
Collectivism, read out aloud by the protagonist, written supposedly by Emmanuel
Goldstein, a leader of The Brotherhood ; generally acknowledged as a fictitious
creation of The Party. The definition in the book states Doublethink means the power
of holding two contradictory beliefs in one s mind simultaneously, and accepting
both of them . However, the concept itself is introduced in the very beginning of the
novel as : Known as reality control in Oldspeak, it is a part of the enormous campaign

Winston s constant and deliberate attempts to delete thoughts of jubilant nature
considering them to be false memories have been an important feature in determining
the ways in which doublethink forces people to defy the creations of their own
minds that they, at some point in their life, knew were true. The ubiquitous
Telescreens invading people s privacy incessantly, play a vital role in propagating the
concept of doublethink in everyone s mind. It is through these constraints of law, that
people are forced to oblige to, that Totalitarian control has been successfully executed
from long hierarchical lines of the oligarchical government. As there is no escape
from the perpetual monitoring that people have on them, anyone who disobeys the
laws and commits thoughtcrime must be ready to face intense penalizing. As pointed
out by Wikipedia, while Newspeak is the method for controlling thought through
language; doublethink is the method of directly controlling thought . A new term
called doublespeak has emerged as a result inspired by Orwell s use of doublethink
and Newspeak. The term is known to be an intentional distortion or camouflage on
the use of speech in order to gain favourable views and outcomes. It is closely
associated with obscuring the words to mean different than what is actually intended.

whole event was nothing but the result of climate change, there are many factors to
prove that human activities such as, overgrazing, heavy agricultural machinery,
overly expended the grass land for farming, and habitat destruction were the key
factors that led to the Dust Bowl. When watching the documentary about the Dust
Bowl, one can see that before the Europeans and the farmers took over the land, it
was naturally covered with beautiful native plants, such as tall grass and flowers. In
the meantime, there were also native species like coyotes, buffalos, and rabbets
which were totally controlled in term of numbers. But also, they were there as a...

And, the fact that the farmers were rotating the soil to plant wheats and vegetables
without giving the grass a chance to regrow, the area was no longer suitable for
the native plants and species, which leads to a distraction on the ecosystem. So,
after years of practicing the same routine, the lands become more vulnerable to
bad weather because the grass was no longer there to hold the soil in place,
keeping the nutrients in the soil, or reserving the rain water to protect the soil from
drying. Therefore, the soil becomes desolated. Yet, they still had a chance to give
the land a break to regain its stability, but instead the farmers expended more lands
for agriculture project. By doing so, they get rid of the buffalos and the coyotes,
which lead the rabbets population to become overpopulated. In addition, they also
force more area of the land to become more vulnerable, and unprotected from bad
Research Paper On My Lai Massacre
My Lai On March 16, 1968, in the Quang Ngai region of Vietnam, specifically My
Lai, the United States military was involved in an appalling slaughter of
approximately 500 Vietnamese civilians. There are numerous arguments as to why
this incident even had the capacity to occur. Although some of the arguments seem
valid, can one really make excuses for the slaughter of innocent people? The company
that was responsible for the My Lai incident was the Charlie Company and
throughout the company there were many different accounts of what happened that
reprehensible day. Therefore there are a few contradictions about what had occurred,
such as what the commanding officers exact instructions for the soldiers were. Even
with these contradictions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ridenhour became informed about My Lai through stories that his fellow veterans
had told him. He stated, I wanted to get those people. I wanted to reveal what they
did. My God, when I first came home, I would tell my friends and cry literally cry.
(Linder) The letters he wrote, for the most part were cast aside, but some recipients
were curious. Representative Morris Udall decided the letter was not to be ignored
and what Ridenhour claimed had happened needed to be investigated. This is
where the trials and the questioning of what actually happened, who was to blame,
and what the reasons for this calamity were, began. The real query though was,
even if the above questions could be answered would there ever be a clear
explanation/excuse for this tragedy. As mentioned before the Vietnam War caused
the soldiers to harbor a lot of hostility directed at their situation as opposed to just
their enemy. These were all relatively young men fighting, 18 22, most without
anything more than a high school education. They were in a strange foreign country
fighting a war that most of them did not even understand. They were fighting in an
oppressively hot climate among peasants of an alien culture. (Goff, Moss Terry,
Upshur, 445) The main problem was that Vietnam was not a conventional war, it was
very difficult to tell who the enemy was. Members of the 48th Battalion reportedly
lived with the local villagers in order to conceal their presence, often

Eq 1 shows equations of an usual RNN. Here xt is the current input and htв€’1 is
the previous RNN state. U and V are the network parameters associated with xt and
htв€’1 respectively. П† is a nonlinear function which we can choose from several
alternatives. Some common choices are sigmoid, ReLu, tanh etc. Two of most
important differences between RNN and feed forward neural networks are time
ordered input and network parameter sharing. We can see from figure 3 that input is
feeding to the network in different time steps, not at once like feed forward case.
However the parameters the network learns throughout different time steps are same.
At any time step the network process current input along with whatever previously
seen and processed data. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sometimes a memory from long past could be useful for current prediction than a
memory from recent past. Another problem which makes training an RNN
problematic is known as vanishing gradient problem ??. Since network parameters
of an RNN are shared over time, at any time step error derivative not only depends
on the current input of network but also on the previous state of the network. So
there is a multiplicative term of error derivatives back to time step 0 to calculate
error derivative of current time. This is a modification of back propagation
algorithm and known as back propagation through time (BPTT) ??. If individual
gradients are close to zero this multiplicative term would become very close to zero
and eventually gradients disappear. The opposite can also happen which is called
exploding gradient problem, however this is more obvious and easy to detect.
Vanishing gradient problem is not easy to detect and serves as a silent killer to the
network. Several approaches have been adopted to deal with vanishing gradient
problem. Some of them are to careful initialization of network parameters, early
stopping etc. But most effective solution was to modify the RNN architecture so that
it has its own
Craftsmen And Their Influence On Ancient Egyptian
Culture
Artists and craftsmen created things not just for decoration, but they had a purpose.
The Egyptians mostly cared that the artists and craftsmen made things for them that
helped them continue their life in both the real world and the afterworld. The ancient
Egyptians used humor in their sketches, but they only used animals when using
humor and they never used humor when drawing a human. Stone and clay pots are
very important Ancient Egyptartifacts because they help us find out a lot about how
the culture of the Predynastic Period to the end of the Pharaonic Era evolved. The
Nile River had mud and clay to use to make ceramics which was used for cooking
food and holding food or liquids. Baskets were also used as containers in homes and

Scribes created a book of written spells that was thought to help the dead in the
afterlife. The spells were written on either papyrus sheets or on the tomb s walls.
Scribes also portrayed the stories of the book with vibrant illustrations. The
writing Egyptians used is called hieroglyphs. They were little pictures used to
show different objects, actions, sounds, or ideas. Sometimes, a hieroglyph stood
for a whole word. It matters a lot about which way a hieroglyph (most likely a
person or an animal) is facing because if it is facing left, then you must read left to
right. If the hieroglyph is facing right, then you must read from right to left.
Egyptians used ink and papyrus to write. Their pens are made of thin, sharp reeds

October 31, 2010 Introduction In this paper I will attempt to develop a personal
portrait of my life integrating developmental theory, moral development, gender and
cultural influences. Theorist Erik Erikson s developmental theory is best known for
its theories on personality. He believed that an individual s personality is developed
in a series of stages impacted by social experiences throughout the whole life span.
His model of development was the first offered by a theorist that extended over the
entire life span. The massive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was important to me to instill culture and transmit values of the culture to my
children and other members of my family and community. After a while, my
children grew up and left home, my relationships and goals changed, and it was
during this stage that I needed to find new meanings and purposes for my life. It
was at this point that I decided to return to school and successfully obtain my
college degree, a milestone, which led to my current status of pursuing my Master
s degree. Stage 8 Late Adulthood: Integrity vs. Despair This stage is where I am
now. As I look back over my life, I feel like in this stage, I am recovering from the
earlier stages of life. As an older adult, I look back with happiness and contentment,
feeling fulfilled and like I have made a contribution to the world, and with a deep
sense of the meaning of life, a feeling Erikson calls integrity. I have come to know
that with age comes wisdom, and from wisdom comes strength, On the other hand, I
realize that failures in life can lead to regret, bitterness, and despair. I thank God that
because of my faith and wisdom, failure can always be turned into success, negating
those negative feelings that include despair. Part 2: Compare Erikson s theory of

how these theories have affected your development from birth to adulthood. Erikson s

King Herakles Research Paper
The Labors of Herakles are the amazing tasks of the hero, which paints him as the
greatest of all Greek Heros. His battle with the Nemean Lion displays his strength,
and serves as the start of a fascinating and exciting story of battle, conquest and
immortalization. Even the Nemean Lion, immune to arrows and blades, can
succumb to the might of the Greek Warrior Herakles, a symbol of the Greek
people themselves. In this study, one such depiction of this great fight will be
discussed, a Stamnos of Herakles and the Nemean Lion. Additionally the Myth
behind this depiction of this heroic battle will be explained and detailed. The Vase

greatest myths of this Greek Hero, and portray a man taming the inner beast within

The Greek hero was to slay and skin a enormous lion, that had been terrorizing the
hills of Nemea. However, this is no ordinary lion, this lion cannot be penetrated by
an arrow or sword and its skin is tougher than any armour. This was fact, however,
was unbeknownst to Herakles, who shot arrows which harmlessly bounced of the
great beast thighs. After a great battle, Herakles, with his great strength, strangled the
beast. He would then skin the animal by using its own claws. On his return King
Eurystheus was equally amazed and horrified. Eurystheus barred him from the city

would then go on to complete 11 other labors, each one increasing in difficulty.(The

In This Paper, I Plan To Argue The Ideas By Edward
Conard,
In this paper, I plan to argue the ideas by Edward Conard, in his argument that we
don t need more humanities major in our academic system. In specific, this paper
will explore the writer s claims, the gaps in his arguments and counter arguments in
this topic. My argument is important because I will challenge Conard s article with
the self fashioning s article by Keohane.
In Conard s article, he demonstrates to answer the question whether or not we need
more humanities. His answer is that we should be focus on technology and innovation
to have a better living standards. (41) His main argument is that innovation and
technology are the key to driver of the American economy and there is a need for
more talents and expertise in this area. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(43) Schools give one the time and materials to achieve all what one desire in life.
(43) In the same way, I would challenge the students to leverage their energy and
time to become the best they can be in their life. (43)
This paper also supports the self fashioning article by Keohane. Self fashioning
builds the character, personality, and focus on the student. A self fashioned student
is more likely to succeed in life in whichever line of specialization he chooses.
Likewise, I disagree with Conard on the point that innovation and technology are
more likely to bring success to the student. From experience, people who know their
personality and character are able to use in their skills, time and education to be the
best in whichever field, whether in technology and innovation or humanities. In my
view, success and failure are not a factor of chosen line of specialization rather, it is
a factor of hard work and determination to create a change. Self fashioning is more
fundamental and basic education, like authority, and intelligence and it is determined
by how people deal with small and basic things in life. Things like cleaning, washing,
and taking care of oneself are more important that education when it comes to self
fashioning.
In my life, the most common basic things derive from self fashioning. They include
taking care of oneself through right

The athletic footwear and apparel industry is extremely competitive but Under
Armour has been able to establish a strong market share in the U.S. The industry is
profitable and has a history of robust sales, profit growth, and solid credit metrics.
The industry as a whole is believed to be more recession resistant than many
consumer discretionary categories, because of lifestyle and the relatively low cost
basis. The synthetic performance apparel market represents about a $3 billion market

in the United States increased at 2.9% annual rate during the same period, or 0.6%

Abstract The paper explores the United States Government s efforts to put in place
laws that guide the ethical behavior of its civil service employees. From the
founding of the nation, ensuring ethical behavior by government employees has
been a recurring theme, and legislation, laws, and executive orders have been
implemented at each stage of our government s growth to guide federal employees
in the ethical administration of their duties. However, at what point do the laws
become too restrictive on the very citizens who have sworn to uphold our nation s

Walter Dean Myers Bad Boy
Walter Dean Myers memoir Bad Boy is about how he traveled back to his past.
This book that he wrote is, funny, and unforgettable. As a boy, Myers had a quick
temper, was physically strong, and was always ready for a fight. He also read
voraciously, as he would check out books from the library and carry them home,
hidden in brown paper bags in order to avoid other boys teasing. He aspired to be a
writer. The central idea of this book is courage because he had the courage to join
the military. According to Myers stepping out of your comfort zone could turn into
one of the best decisions you could ve made (21). I believe he said that because he
too stepped out of his comfort and went into the military to really find himself. It
took courage for him to be able to do that. Myers also said that anyone can do
anything they set their mind to (29). That quote from the book really showed
during his second grade year. Him and his family found out he had a speech
problem, and everyone thought that he wouldn t do good throughout school, but
he did. Another quote that he said was to never give up on what you want in life
(32). That quote goes toward how in the book he got called on to read in front of
the whole class. Even though he didn t say the words as well while reading, he still
did it and stayed positive. After that he stated, you can just sit there or do something
(41). I think that was said to him in the book because he used to never wanna join a

The Pain At The Hospital
The pain in my side was excruciating! I had never felt a pain like this before; it
would come and go in waves like something was squeezing at some unknown
organ. This had happened twice before, but the pain had never been as unbearable
as this third time. Because of the severity of this attack, I finally decided to go see
a professional. We first visited a small clinic, but they were not able to assist me
because they did not have any machines needed for deep body scans. The staff
suggested that we go to the emergency room. When we arrived at the hospital, it did
not take long before I was admitted and taken back to a room. Very soon afterward, I

was pregnant, and moved on the more likely idea that I had a kidney stone. The
long wait had finally paid off. Soon afterwards, two radiology techs came to my
room, and brought me to have a CT scan done. By this time, I had begun to tremble
uncontrollably, and for the CT scan I had to lay down on a freezing table while the
machine passed over me. This did not take long, and I was soon wheeled back to
my room. But before I had been pushed out of the room, one the techs gave me a
blanket to put over the thin sheet I had been using. This was the one act of kindness
that was shown to me during my hospital experience. Hour after painful hour ticked
by as we waited to hear back from the doctor about the test. I could not help but to

The Presidential Election Of Florida Essay
Florida is a popular state when discussing political controversy. The media rushes to
Florida during congressional and presidential elections due to its reputation as a
conflicted state. Here we find the southern regions to be rather liberal and voting
democratically, and on the other hand, we see the northern regions votingmostly
conservatively. This creates controversy in the United Statesbecause Florida is a
major determining factor of what kind of outcome we are going to get for a
presidential election. This can be especially stressful for those running for office
either presidentially or for the state specifically because they are unaware of their
chances of gaining the states support and being elected into office. Florida has
been being a large impact on the outcome of presidential campaigns in past
elections. One of these years in history was 1876 between Democrat Samuel J.
Tilden and Republican Rutherford B. Hayes. During this election, Tilden and the
Democrats were accused of winning southern states through violence and fraud
causing Republicans to demand vote recounts. After recounts, Republicans were
accused of throwing out Democratic votes so Hayes would gain support from
states that were once Tilden s (Morris 2003). For this election, Florida played a key
role along with a few other states because of the electoral votes that were key in
determining who would win this entire presidential election for that year. More
recently in 2000, Florida had another

depression is accompanied with a type of anxietydisorder such as as generalized

Visit To Hawaii
There is always one place someone wants to go visit from hearing about it from a
friend or seeing pictures online. The place I want to visit over any place in the
entire world is Hawaii because of all the tropical foods, sunny beaches and so many
activities to do. Such as, hiking to a waterfall and jumping in or going on a tour
around the island in a helicopter.
One reason I want to visit Hawaii is because the beaches look amazing, and the
beaches have so many things to do. If I went I would go to the beaches on the bay
first, to practice surfing and play games on the beach. I would play wiffle ball,
ultimate Frisbee and pass a football around, or lacrosse ball. Wiffle ball is a lot of fun
because I hit the ball to the ground a lot, so I dive to get the base. Ultimate frisbee is
hard to play on the beach because of the wind, so I dive to catch almost every throw.
After a couple of days I d switch to the ocean side of Hawaii to go body boarding,
boogie boarding, and surfing. Boogie boarding is more fun with bigger waves
because I get to ride the wave for a longer time. Bodyboarding is tough for me to
catch a wave, but is amazing once I finally catch one. Surfing is a little tricky to
stand up and is much easier for me to stay up once I get the hang of it. ... Show more

Financial Risks Of The Financial Risk Of Companies
Listed...
1. Introduction Financial risk is a major concern world wide and there are numerous
studies to support the necessity to investigate it. Lee (2006) defines financial risk as
the additional risk that the firm s stockholders bear when the firm is financed with
debt as well as equity. Clarke (2010) explains that the recent turmoil, bank runs, global
equities sell off and the credit crunch demonstrate sophisticated and interconnected
nature of the financial markets making the seemingly localized problem to become a
global financial risk. This reiterates the importance of studying the financial risk of
companies listed onthe securities market. Studies show that a financial crisis
although not explained by any one single cause, emanates from poor financial
management which eventually spreads to other areas of the economy (McGuigan,
McNally Wyness, 2012). Studies on the developing countries indicate that it is
necessary to change policies and controls in financial risk management. Gemech, et
al. (2011) point to the impact of high uncertainty of commodity prices on financial
risk management in developing countries as an effort to prevent or reverse the
deterioration in their balance of trade, and mitigate short term volatility. 2.

Alternative strategies can also be used by netting off the amount or using futures
however for that management s time will be an issue. THE ARGENTINEAN
PESO: The case with the Argentinean subsidiary is not similar to the first one. The
Argentinean government is facing significant financial problems which throws
doubts on its default. The country has very poor economic situation with no
reforms and recent devaluation of currency has caused the managers to think over
the strategy that should be followed. The manager did perform some hedging
calculation though however hedging is used where there is risk in the short term
and where risk cannot be transferred. In this case where we can easily see that local
currency is devaluing with great pace we should look for a long term strategy.
Hedging strategy of GM should not be altered in this regard however by other
options we can find a solution. In such situations where government is facing hard
times financially, government puts restriction on the level of remittance to the parent
company. There is a significant risk involved with this investment and if there are
any chances of this restriction then company should assess whether it is worthwhile
to stay in operations there as it may cause severe problems for a company if it can t
withdraw its investments. Other options to deal with that could be

world connected with these kinds of problems. People are concentrating on them and
are not aware that there are less severe kinds such as: Zombie Consumerism. When
we buy without thinking, motivated by a super low price, passion or enormous
appetite we are guilty of Zombie Consumerism. Shopping is seen by many addicts
as a release from stress and pain, so it can be assumed the inner working cognitively
for a shopping addict would become similar to that of a drug addict or alcohol addict.
The characters in White Noise are victims of Zombie Consumerism.
One of the main themes around which the novel is structured is death. The characters
in this novel realize that they are surrounded by death and that there is no escape.
Even though they are aware that the death is brought to them upon the products they
buy and it causes them to suffer both physically and mentally, they are ignoring the
fact and they turn to the illusive comfort that consumerism provides. The characters
turn to consumerism as a way of escaping death. The products they buy create some
kind of comfort and seem as a solution of many problems. They become desperate
because they believe that buying unnecessary products continuously will help them
with their hopeless situation. Good example for this situation is the drug Dylar.

Effect Of Birth Order On Personality
Effect of birth order on achievement motivation and personality development
INTRODUCTION
Birth order:
Birth order refers to the order a child is born in their family; first born and second
born are examples. Birth order is often believed to have a profound and lasting effect
on psychological development and achievements. (Rodgers, Cleveland, Van Den,
Rowe, 2000)
Psychological birth order is defined as the way a person sees or perceives his or her
position in his or her family of origin. Alfred Adlerbelieved that birth order was the
way a child interpreted his or her perceived positions in the family, which is the most
important to him or her. (Kalkan, 2008) In 1874, Francis Galton the youngest of nine
siblings analyzed a sample of English scientists to find that first born were over
represented and find that eldest sons enjoy special treatment by their parents,
allowing them to thrive intellectually. Half a century later, Alfred Adler (1870 1937),
the second of six children, suggest that birth order influences personality. According
to him, the oldest, middle and the youngest child are due to their positions in family

Among the general public, it is widely believed that personality is strongly influenced
by birth order, but many psychologists has put forward their reservations. One
modern theory of personality states that the Big Five personality traits of Openness,
Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism represent most of
the important elements of personality that can be measured (John, Srivastava,1999).
Contemporary empirical research shows that birth order does not influence the Big
Five personality traits. (Rohrer, Julia, Egloff, Boris, Schmukle, Stefan,
Difference Between Orwell And The English Language
There are many opinions and thoughts when it comes to how individuals think the
English language should be used. This is because there is not a standard approach to
teaching the concepts of the English language. Many people base their style of
writing off what they feel is important and what their teachers taught them over the
years. Orwell s thoughts on the English language are something all teachers should
consider talking about in their classrooms. This is because Orwell s thoughts bring up
different ideas about some of the ways the current English language is being used that
are not usually thoughtof. In my experience I was taught ways that were almost
opposite of Orwell. One difference in my experience and Orwell thoughts is the use of

As a result of using the simile or metaphor to often they are losing their true
meaning and adding unnecessary words to their writing. A second difference in
Orwell s thoughts and the current English language is the use of creative
sentences and words. In the current English language writers try to add creative
words and sentences to their writing, but these words are just making their work
vaguer. If these words were used less sentences would be simpler to understand
and have more meaning. We also see some speakers add creative words and
complex sentences to their speech if they don t want to provide a clear response.
The third difference between Orwell s thoughts and the way I was taught is the use
of familiar phrases. In the current English language we say phrases that we hear
frequently because we heard someone else use it which is similar to the way I was
taught. Many times the writer is using these phrases because it doesn t require a lot
of thinking, but using them makes the writer look lazy. These are some examples on
how the current English language could change for the better if Orwell s thoughts are
taught in classrooms of all

Essays On Learning. 015 Creative Essay Example Cover Thatsnotus

  • 1. Essays On Learning Writing an essay on the topic of "Essays On Learning" can be a challenging but rewarding task. The difficulty lies not only in the need to articulate your thoughts coherently but also in exploring the vast and diverse landscape of learning itself. Learning is a multifaceted concept that encompasses various disciplines, methods, and theories, making it a broad and intricate subject to delve into. The challenge begins with defining the scope of your essay. Are you focusing on a specific aspect of learning, such as formal education, informal learning, or the psychology of learning? Determining the boundaries of your discussion is crucial to avoid the essay becoming too broad or too narrow. Once the scope is established, the next hurdle is to conduct thorough research. Given the extensive literature on learning, it can be overwhelming to sift through the wealth of information available. Selecting relevant and credible sources becomes a meticulous task, requiring a discerning eye to identify key insights that contribute to the understanding of your chosen theme. Crafting a compelling thesis statement is another aspect that adds to the complexity. Your thesis should not only reflect the essence of your essay but also provide a roadmap for the reader. It is the anchor that guides your arguments and helps maintain coherence throughout the paper. The body of the essay demands a balance between depth and breadth. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall narrative, providing insights, evidence, and analysis. Managing the flow of ideas and maintaining a logical progression can be challenging, requiring careful planning and organization. Furthermore, the conclusion should not merely summarize your points but offer a synthesis of the key ideas and leave a lasting impression on the reader. It's the final opportunity to underscore the significance of your exploration into the diverse realms of learning. In the end, while the difficulty of writing an essay on "Essays On Learning" is evident, the reward lies in the opportunity to contribute to the discourse on a subject that is fundamental to human growth and development. However, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that similar essays and more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net, providing a helping hand in navigating the intricacies of such a nuanced topic. • 3. Role of The Tannery in the novel Nectar in a Sieve Essay Question: What role does the tannery, in Rukmani s city, have throughout the book? Explain. Also, be sure to discuss what effect it had on the people. In almost every novel, there is at least one culprit or menace. He or she usually causes problems and in more exciting works, ends up murdering one of the protagonists. Hence, in the erratic novel Nectar in a Sieve, which is set in India during the early 1950 s, there has been a troublemaker, just hidden and extremely indirect in his actions. To the affect of this, Nathan and Rukmani decide to reside with their most successful son, or so they would think. Murugan mysteriously disappears and leaves the couple homeless. Living with no roof over his head, and eating miniscule portions, Nathan becomes horribly sick and ends up dying. It is important the reader connects Nathan s death to the tannery buying his land. This quote shows the harsh conditions Rukmani and Nathan had to deal with to survive. [Rukmani Narrates] We ate once a day and that was all: when the day for buying cloth to cover ourselves with, or a mat to lie on, or medicines for Nathan while he fevered, there would be nothing (Markandaya 175). All these sufferings and poverty are the effect of Nathan and Rukmani not being able to compensate for the loss of their land which was brought by the tannery. So, the tannery assumes the role of bully in this situation by killing the father of a family. This depicts how the tannery is the indirect murderer in Nectar in a Sieve, making it the antagonist. Although the tannery did murder Nathan and throw a family on the streets, the pioneer business did shed some light on the industrial side of India. For over 80 years, Great Britain colonized India. The novel s time period is set up just after India gains its

U and V are the network parameters associated with xt and htв€’1 respectively. П† is a nonlinear function which we can choose from several alternatives. Some common choices are sigmoid, ReLu, tanh etc. Two of most important differences between RNN and feed forward neural networks are time ordered input and network parameter sharing. We can see from figure 3 that input is feeding to the network in different time steps, not at once like feed forward case. However the parameters the network learns throughout different time steps are same. At any time step the network process current input along with whatever previously seen and processed data. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sometimes a memory from long past could be useful for current prediction than a memory from recent past. Another problem which makes training an RNN problematic is known as vanishing gradient problem ??. Since network parameters of an RNN are shared over time, at any time step error derivative not only depends on the current input of network but also on the previous state of the network. So there is a multiplicative term of error derivatives back to time step 0 to calculate error derivative of current time. This is a modification of back propagation algorithm and known as back propagation through time (BPTT) ??. If individual gradients are close to zero this multiplicative term would become very close to zero and eventually gradients disappear. The opposite can also happen which is called exploding gradient problem, however this is more obvious and easy to detect. Vanishing gradient problem is not easy to detect and serves as a silent killer to the network. Several approaches have been adopted to deal with vanishing gradient problem. Some of them are to careful initialization of network parameters, early stopping etc. But most effective solution was to modify the RNN architecture so that it has its own

A self fashioned student is more likely to succeed in life in whichever line of specialization he chooses. Likewise, I disagree with Conard on the point that innovation and technology are more likely to bring success to the student. From experience, people who know their personality and character are able to use in their skills, time and education to be the best in whichever field, whether in technology and innovation or humanities. In my view, success and failure are not a factor of chosen line of specialization rather, it is a factor of hard work and determination to create a change. Self fashioning is more fundamental and basic education, like authority, and intelligence and it is determined by how people deal with small and basic things in life. Things like cleaning, washing, and taking care of oneself are more important that education when it comes to self fashioning. In my life, the most common basic things derive from self fashioning. As a boy, Myers had a quick temper, was physically strong, and was always ready for a fight. He also read voraciously, as he would check out books from the library and carry them home, hidden in brown paper bags in order to avoid other boys teasing. He aspired to be a writer. The central idea of this book is courage because he had the courage to join the military. According to Myers stepping out of your comfort zone could turn into one of the best decisions you could ve made (21). I believe he said that because he too stepped out of his comfort and went into the military to really find himself. It took courage for him to be able to do that. Myers also said that anyone can do anything they set their mind to (29). That quote from the book really showed during his second grade year. Him and his family found out he had a speech problem, and everyone thought that he wouldn t do good throughout school, but he did. Another quote that he said was to never give up on what you want in life (32). That quote goes toward how in the book he got called on to read in front of the whole class. Even though he didn t say the words as well while reading, he still did it and stayed positive. After that he stated, you can just sit there or do something (41). I think that was said to him in the book because he used to never wanna join a game with other kids

The media rushes to Florida during congressional and presidential elections due to its reputation as a conflicted state. Here we find the southern regions to be rather liberal and voting democratically, and on the other hand, we see the northern regions votingmostly conservatively. This creates controversy in the United Statesbecause Florida is a major determining factor of what kind of outcome we are going to get for a presidential election. This can be especially stressful for those running for office either presidentially or for the state specifically because they are unaware of their chances of gaining the states support and being elected into office. Florida has been being a large impact on the outcome of presidential campaigns in past elections. One of these years in history was 1876 between Democrat Samuel J. Tilden and Republican Rutherford B. After recounts, Republicans were accused of throwing out Democratic votes so Hayes would gain support from states that were once Tilden s (Morris 2003). For this election, Florida played a key role along with a few other states because of the electoral votes that were key in determining who would win this entire presidential election for that year. Introduction Financial risk is a major concern world wide and there are numerous studies to support the necessity to investigate it. Lee (2006) defines financial risk as the additional risk that the firm s stockholders bear when the firm is financed with debt as well as equity. Clarke (2010) explains that the recent turmoil, bank runs, global equities sell off and the credit crunch demonstrate sophisticated and interconnected nature of the financial markets making the seemingly localized problem to become a global financial risk. This reiterates the importance of studying the financial risk of companies listed onthe securities market. Studies show that a financial crisis although not explained by any one single cause, emanates from poor financial management which eventually spreads to other areas of the economy (McGuigan, McNally Wyness, 2012). Studies on the developing countries indicate that it is necessary to change policies and controls in financial risk management. Gemech, et al. • 40. Effect Of Birth Order On Personality Effect of birth order on achievement motivation and personality development INTRODUCTION Birth order: Birth order refers to the order a child is born in their family; first born and second born are examples. Birth order is often believed to have a profound and lasting effect on psychological development and achievements. (Rodgers, Cleveland, Van Den, Rowe, 2000) Psychological birth order is defined as the way a person sees or perceives his or her position in his or her family of origin. Alfred Adlerbelieved that birth order was the way a child interpreted his or her perceived positions in the family, which is the most important to him or her. (Kalkan, 2008) In 1874, Francis Galton the youngest of nine siblings analyzed a sample of English scientists to find that first born were over represented and find that eldest sons enjoy special treatment by their parents, allowing them to thrive intellectually.
