Sample English Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Sample English Essay" presents a unique set of challenges. At
first glance, it may seem straightforward, but the intricacies lie in the need to strike a balance
between creativity and adherence to formal writing conventions. Crafting a compelling essay
involves navigating through the vast expanse of the English language, selecting precise words to
convey thoughts effectively.
One of the difficulties is finding a fresh perspective on a seemingly common theme. It requires a
thoughtful exploration of the subject matter, avoiding clichГ©s and trite expressions. The
challenge lies in presenting original ideas or interpreting well-known concepts in a new light.
This demands creativity and a deep understanding of the topic to engage the reader throughout
the essay.
Structuring the essay poses another hurdle. Balancing the introduction, body, and conclusion
while maintaining a coherent flow can be tricky. Ensuring that each paragraph seamlessly
connects to the next and contributes to the overall argument or narrative requires careful
planning and organization. Additionally, the proper use of transitions is vital for guiding the
reader through the essay smoothly.
Another aspect that adds to the difficulty is the necessity for thorough research and
incorporation of credible sources. For an essay to be truly comprehensive, it often requires
extensive reading and understanding of various viewpoints. This demands time and effort in
gathering information, evaluating sources, and integrating relevant data into the essay while
maintaining a cohesive narrative.
Moreover, the challenge lies in maintaining a balance between formality and engagement.
Striking the right tone is essential, ensuring that the language is polished and appropriate for an
academic setting while still being accessible to a diverse audience. Achieving this delicate
equilibrium is a skill that takes time and practice to master.

Sea Ray Marketing Paper
Where Land Ends, Life Begins
Sea Ray Marketing Plan
Executive Summary
The boating industry has suffered serious revenue losses since the 2008 downturn in
the economy. Our strategy for Sea Ray of Knoxville minimizes risk yet strengthens
and refines the current marketing campaign. Analysis indicates a concentration on
families and communities would coincide with Sea Ray s current image that Where

Now that momentum is gone; however, sport boat manufacturers are optimistic about
the next ten years. A tidal wave of retiring baby boomers could offer substantial new
buyers when the economy rebounds. The boating industry in general forecasts better
days ahead. D. Long Term Industry Outlook
There is a bright future for the sport boat industry; the market as a whole is
expected to grow in the near future. In 2006 the sport boat market had a total value
of $6.9 billion; that value has climbed by 9.3% each year, and that trend is
expected to continue for the next 3 years. This means that the sport boat market
will be worth $10.1 billion by 2014. This industry rebound is dependent upon the
recovery of the market and a general change in attitude of banks to lend more
money for boat purchases. In addition to this overall market growth and economic
recovery, we can expect sport boat sales to increase due to an increase in the
number of boat purchasers. As the baby boomers reach retirement age, the number
of boats sold can be expected to increase causing the overall market to increase at a
rate greater than the expected 9.3%. With this explosion in the sport boat market,
positive economic activity, and the increased willingness of banks to grant loans, it is
expected that the sport boat market will expand beyond all future expectations.4

Essay on It Happened on the Way to War.
It Happened On The Way To War Paper
It Happened On The Way To War is a book by Rye Barcott. This book talks about a
marine who dreams of making a difference in the world. We read about his life,
feeling as if we were a part of it. Three values that he clearly shows in this book are
balance, leadership and Inspiration. Somebody once said that in order to succeed in
life, you have to have a balance between your personal life and your professional
life. Rye Barcott not only shows us the importance of having a balance, but he also
shows us how hard it is to find that balance. While he was a part of the Marines, he
was expected to transition easily from the combat mode to peace keeping mode. He
thought that he will be able to separate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When Rye met Salim, he decided to take take Salim s vision of Kibera and make it
his own. He inspired a shared a vision, Salim told Rye his dream about Kibera s
future and how he is currently trying to achieve it, however he probably did not
expect Rye to actually support the dream or even come back to Kibera. However
Rye shocked him by not only coming back to Kibera, but also by working with him
to achieve his goal. Tabitha s meeting with Rye is a great example of how Rye
encouraged the heart. He had just met Tabitha and she was asking him to trust her and
help her. There was no guarantee that Tabitha would succeed, but Rye supported her
and helped her achieve her dream. Challenging
the Process requires you to stand up and stand out of the crowd. There are many
books published about a person and the amount of good her or she does in the world.
However the reason that Rye s story is different from others is because Rye is a
marine. People are attracted to this book, because on the front cover the caption
reads A Marines Path To Peace Which is very unique. When people think about the
Marines, they think of war not peace. There aren t many books about a marine that
fights a war in the day, and runs a non profit organization by night. The work that
Rye does in his book, things like organizing soccer tournaments and trash clean ups,
enables others to act. In order for the kids to
Summary Of Martha C. Nussbaum s Anger And Forgiveness
Sometimes people can be angry or furious. However, when the time passes they do
not even remember their anger. Should they stay angry or should they let it go as
Martha C. Nussbaum says in the Anger and Forgiveness book? To answer this
question, the notion of anger needs to be explored. For instance, according to
Nussbaum, in the Middle Realm , angeris the domain of life , and affects the way we
spend our lives (p.138). Nussbaum says that we mostly deal with people who we
meet temporarily; it can be at work, at the store or on the street, but we do it on a
regular basis. Therefore, as the author points out, we do not get into a deep
relationship with these people in this realm, and this is a short term situation. Also,
Nussbaum says that she finds it easy to transition herself in a non anger situation with
people who she loves. On the other hand, she finds it harder to transition from this
feeling when dealing with irritating strangers (p. 139).
Furthermore, the author agrees with the Stoics that mixture of heterogeneous
elements is not worth to pay attention to. She gives some examples of the
heterogeneous elements, which could be improper termination of employment,
negligent medical treatment, harassment on the job, theft, etc. (p.139). Instead of
being angry, Nussbaum suggests Transition (before) or Transition Anger (after). She
also indicates that there is no point in getting further embroiled, mentally and
emotionally (p.141). Indeed, this recommendation is essential for a business world
where people have a tendency to get frustrated fast. By applying Nussbaum s
techniques of controlling the anger, businesses can not only improve the working
environment within their companies, but also prevent customers from being angry in
various situations.
A good example of possible applications of Nussbaum s anger techniques is
demonstrated in the article BA says most flights running; angry passengers face
delays. People s anger and an inability of the British Airways company to address the
problem lead to negative customers experience and damaging the company s
reputation. In this case, the Middle Realm anger is described which is usually not
important. Even though people are angry, there is nothing
Comparing The Alien And Forgotten Planet By Doug
Delanty
From the moment they are born, children are wondering about their world. Parents
often enjoy watching their children grow up and reflect upon what they discovered
and what they have yet to discover. In The Alien , Greg Delanty is describing
expecting parents questions while awaiting a child. Similarly, in Forgotten Planet ,
Doug Dorph describes children s imaginationand compares it to adulthood. The
parents in these poems are able to rely upon space or visualize it as to having an
important role in the life of a child. Both The Alien by Greg Delanty and Forgotten
Planet by Doug Dorph use a motif of space as parents search to understand children;
however, the parentfigures in the poems view space in different ways.
In The Alien , Delanty explains the anxious feeling that parents have before having a
baby and uses the motif of space to try to explain how parents try to answer some of
the questions they have. As the experience of having a child is new to these parents,
they use a metaphor to compare their child to an alien and a martian (Delanty 9, 11).
This demonstrates that they are anxious because they neither know how the child
will behave nor how to cooperate with the new child. They also have other questions
about their coming child, expressed when Delanty writes, we re anxious/ to make

Marquis Color Test Paper
As chemist with forensic case work and field experience, I know low cost and low
tech methods of analysis are in demand. While such methods are typically
presumptive in nature, they play a vital role in both lab and field analysis.
Presumptive tests allow users to triage samples for confirmatory analysis, saving
time and expense. Whether a crime scene, combat zone, or natural disaster site,
presumptive assays influence command decisions. In technology deficient areas,
presumptive assays may be the totality of the analysis available. Most presumptive
tests are color tests, providing a visual cue to the user as to the presence of a
particular compound (1 2). While color tests have their benefits, a big drawback is
the false positive (3), i.e. the erroneous compound is here . My research focuses on
minimizing false positives, false negatives, and generally improving the selectivity of
color tests without sacrificing their ease of use and low cost.... Show more content on

This test is routinely employed in the field, usually as an all inclusive kit like
Safariland s NarcoPouch shown in Figure 1 (4). A positive result is obtained for
morphine (DEA Schedule II), codeine (DEA Schedule II/III), heroin(DEA Schedule
I), and over the counter (OTC) aspirin. The OTC result is a false positive, as a true
positive is a scheduled opiate. Colors noted by users to describe each compound s

reaction mechanism involves the dimerization of opiates (5), it is conceivable that
each of these compound s test results are a different tint or shade of red (i.e. different
pinks) as they correspond to different structures. The challenge for users in
discriminating between compounds are the similarity of resulting colors and limits of
the user s color acuity. Different
Disadvantages Of 4 White Powders
From the table four appropriate simple tests can be conducted in order to determine
the structure type and identify the four white powders. This includes conducting tests
of melting point, flame color, solubility and the conductivity in water (H20). The
melting point of a substance is the temperature at which the material changes from a
solid to a liquid state. The determination of melting points is a form of identification
and test method for organic substance. The melting point is an easy way measure and
classify substances. Testing the flamecolor is an appropriate test as metalions change
the color of a flame when they are heated. Different metal ions give different colors
to the flame. So flame tests can be used to identify the presence of a particular
metal in a sample. Solubility is appropriate as a solvent a substance will dissolve in
gives hints to its identity. Conductivity in water (H20) identifies if a substance is
ionic or molecular. If a solution of compound and water has high conductivity level,
the compound is ionic if not it is molecular.

My Educational Goals and Philosophy Statement Essay
My Education Philosophy
I ve always believed very strongly in hard work, perseverance, strong moral
character. These traits to me are what exemplifies a superior teacher that has the
privilege to touch many lives and change the world we live in.
Hardwork is something that isn t artificial, or can t be bought. It s a very special
characteristic that sets people apart in the respect that it shows who want s to be
successful and make a difference and who doesn t. In being a teacher hardwork
comes with the job and it s important that the teacher understands that before going

To be an effective teacherrequires perseverance , which is something that is
extremely important to the profession as a whole. Teaching at times can be very
stressful and frustrating and like any job it can be very easy to give up and quit
when times get tough or seem to be spiraling out of control. Children are very
sensitive with their feelings and emotions and sometimes the blame is put on you
the teacher by the student even though it may not be your fault in whatever
happened. Parents can be very hard to get along with as well and it requires a lot of
composure in explaining issues that may not be popular with the parent or child.
Perseverance is very important to a teacher s well being as far as staying on task and
coming up with new concepts that can better benefit the students as well as the
teacher.
Something that can be easily overlooked in being a teacher is the trait of being a
strong moral character . In the occupation field of teaching there will be times
when people will look to you for answers, or opinions that will benefit the teaching
environment as well as the curriculum, or will not benefit the teaching environment
and it s up to you to speak your mind in what you believe to be ethical, concise, and
why you made that particular decision in the first place. Having a strong moral
character shows others who you really are and what you truly stand for as an
educator. It also

King Alfred of Wessex was probably the best known of all Anglo Saxon rulers . And
Alfred s reputation still stands high with historians, though few would now want to
follow following, claiming him as the most perfect character in history.
Alfred is someone who has had greatness thrust upon him. How and why did he
acquire his glowing reputation, and how does it stand up today? There can be no
doubt that Alfred s reign was significant, both for the direction of the country s
development and the fortunes of his descendants. Alfred was the only surviving
Anglo Saxon province. Alfred nearly succumbed to the Vikings, but kept his nerve
and won a decisive victory at the battle of Edington in 879. He then paved the way
for the future unity of England, who conquered the remaining areas held by the
Vikings in the east and north, so that by the mid tenth century, the England we are
familiar with, was ruled as one country for the first time. Alfred studied, and even
translated from Latin into Old English, certain works that were regarded as most
necessary for all men to know . Alfred also tried to put these principles into practice,
for instance, he became convinced that those in authority in church or ... Show more

name at all levels of society in that time

Subwoofers are a vital part of car audio system equipment. It augments the quality of
the songs and plays the otherwise noiseless low sound frequencies. A subwoofer is
similar to a regular loudspeaker, but usually intensifies sound frequencies, which
range between 60 to 150 Hz. Cars typically come attached with small speakers,
which do not produce low frequencies. So, it is often advantageous to use a distinct
speaker for listening to low frequency sounds. Subwoofers come in diverse sizes and
thus they can perform optimally as per the surroundings. Bass is what car
I Am A Professional Engineer
It is not easy to become a successful, professional engineer. A professional engineer
requires high responsibility, especially problem based solving skills to cope with
workplace environment and compete with others. Problem based learning (PBL) is
really important to reflect the professional practice of engineers. There have been
several definitions of PBL. According to Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter
(2011, p.134), PBL is the approach that allows learners to practice finding solutions
throughout their academy. Learners in a PBL process have to reflect, identify and
learn about the complex problem and the cycle is repeated until learners find a
solution that they can do both in writing and presentation. There are some basics of
PBL such as decision making, communication, collaboration, self regulation, self
motivation and flexibility. These basics are the base for every engineerto become a
successful professional practicing engineer.
Decision making ability helps engineers to learn deeply from the problems and have
ability to analyse and get the detail of the problems before planning to solve them.
Deep learners focus on the problem carefully and get all information about it.
Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.126) state that the experiences of
the effective learning from deep learning leads learners to understand key words and
general principle to develop both technic and profession. Not only deep learning,
decision making ability improves

different materials, but they always found themselves too cold or too hot. And are
wasting there money on different kinds of winter gear, and most do not work out.
What if they tried wool, synthetic, or alpacawool, which one keeps people the

By 4000 BC, Babylonians were wearing clothing out of crudely woven wool fabric.

as tightly bound as wool, thus making it easier to breath through but, is also thick
enough to keep in the heat better than regular wool.
There is snow gear made out of other materials, and different materials mixed

resistant to moisture but, gram for gram they

Defining a Hurricane Essay
Defining a Hurricane
A hurricane is a tropical storm that has winds of 74 miles per hour or more. The
winds can sometimes reach up to 155 miles per hour. Another characteristic of
hurricanes is their massive size that measures from 200 to 300 miles in diameter. In
the center of each storm there is what is called the eye of the storm (Image to
Right). The eye of the storm is usaually between 20 30 miles and is the calmest
part of the storm. Winds here may only be 74 miles per hour. Some hurricanes can
last for two weeks or more over open water and can run a path across the entire
Eastern Seaboard.

Some hurricanes can even develop in the winter time, but that rarely happens, only
three have been recorded since 1886.
Hurricanes are not only very violent storms but they are also very dangerous. The
primary dangers of the storm are the rain/flooding, high winds, the occasional
tornado, flying debris from buildings and nature (i.e. trees), and the storm surges .
Storm surges can be between 50 to 100 miles high. These surges may be even more
dangerous than any of the other hazards because they can wipe out an entire
community near the ocean. Nine out of ten deaths are caused by such surges and
annually 17 people die from hurricanes in the United States alone. The deadliest
hurricane in United States history was at Galveston Island, called the Texas Storm of
1900. It was a Category 4 hurricane and there was more than 6,000 deaths occured
with this storm.

Captain James Cook: Superhero on the Seas
Introduction
James Cook was an European explorer who went on to chart and discover new lands
near Australia. He was born in a village located in Yorkshire on October 27, 1728. He
was raised by his father who was a farm worker. When Cook turned 17, he settled in

Differences And Contrastive Grammar
Contrastive analysis means finding the similarity and comparing the differences of
linguistic system of two languages (Jawad, 2015; Alduais , 2012). Contrastive
grammar is part of contrastive analysis where the similarity and difference of two or
more than two languages are the main focus. However contrastive grammar refers to
the more specific thing that is on the structural concepts of sentences such as sentence
patterns, and connecting words. On other words, contrastive grammar is a study that
outlines the elements of similarity and difference between two languages or more

Reflection Of A Glass Window
The object I chose to draw was a stained glass window depicting the thirteenth
station of the cross, where the crucified Jesus is laid into the arms of His mother,
Mary. This object is colorful and vivid, with the people in the window image
portrayed in bright colors in contrast to the background. In addition, the people
portrayed have precise naturalistic details and proportions regarding their clothing,
bodies, and facial expressions. Through the exercise of drawing this stained glass
window of the thirteenth station, I learned about proportionality, black space, and
unification. I also learned how the Catholic faith can relate to these different aspects
of drawing. I started drawing the border and outlines of the image; not the entire...

Otherwise, the entire image would not look right. I did not finish drawing the
window because I wanted to place the parts proportionately so as to accurately
portray the window as a whole. The window s detail did not serve as a priority in
the drawing exercise because I believed the unity of its parts was central to making
it look as accurate as possible. Additionally, I learned that the unification of the
drawing s parts were necessary in drawing the window. It can be said in the spiritual
life that Jesus makes our brokenness whole and creates beauty out of it, much like
how the beauty of stained glass window only makes sense as a unified whole. I took
some time in the beginning of the drawing exercise to examine the window for a
second time, which allowed me to see that these pieces only made sense together.
Yes, the pieces of stained glass are pretty by themselves, but they only form the
image of the thirteenth station when together. Examining the stained glass
window for a second time also allowed me to notice black spaces in between the
pieces of stained glass. I learned that these areas of black space not only separate each
part, but are also essential to the beauty of the window, and that drawing images is as
much about using space well as it is about detail. In an art history class I took last
year, I learned that there was a period of time where artists would use all available
space on a surface out of fear of

the audience can completely relate to, setting the bulk of the film in Paris. However

Approvals are required for acquiring land, and for these approvals the company has
to pass through lengthy processes. The company is facing political pressure, which is
from no growth proponents. But, as a matter of fact, the political conditions are
working in favor of Toll Brothers, and the company is getting control over
unfavorable conditions by controlling the land, and navigating via difficult and
lengthy regulatory approval process. Economic Factors Changing economic
conditions are upsetting for Toll Brothers. Cyclic behavior of the domestic economy
exerts its influence on business of Toll Brothers. The company can conduct its
operations effective when the economy is at boom because of increase in demand,
but when demand is low as during a recession, the company has to face a financial
loss. But, now economic conditions of the United States are improving as the
economy is recovering, which is facilitating the company to run its operations in an
effective manner. Fluctuations in prices such as in cement prices also exert their
influence, and prevent the company from conduction of smooth business.
Construction companies such as Toll Brothers are contributing to the improvement of

Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area (BIA)
Transportation is the method that a traveler uses to move from one location to
another. Congested urban environments makes transportation a challenge. Since they
generally consist of high density structures, activities and people. Due to the
congested nature of urban environments, people who live and travel in these areas
generally have various methods of transportation which may include; walking, driving
a personal vehicle, riding a bike, as well as public transportation, such as trains. The
Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area (BIA), is an urban environment that

the various methods to over come these challenges, this essay will discuss the

Currently, The City of Toronto has implemented several infrastructures and services
to create a more sustainable method of transportation for individuals in urban
environments, such as the Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area. Some of
which are done by discouraging the use of personal vehicles by limiting the numbers
of parking spaces available, as well as implementing traffic signal synchronization
and ramp metering. Many of these services have improved the congestion in Toronto
significantly, however, due to the increasing population, the past improvements are
not enough. The higher population in Toronto makes the land that is available more
expensive and as a result, more people tend to have to move to new towns or
suburban areas. Therefore, cities need to improve transportation services that are
already available or they must create new and efficient transportation services to
allow for better commuting (Farahani et al., 2013). Many people who commute to
Toronto tend to rely on their personal automobile. Studies have shown that in the past
two decades, travel by automobiles is the main method of transportation used in the
Global Toronto Area (Abulibdeh, 2014). This is due to variety of reasons, some of
which includes the comfort, speed and convenience one receives by driving a vehicle.

Blacks were treated as low life s and were not treated the same as whites. There was

that we as people are giving the same opportunity as others and equal rights. I have
a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its
creed: We hold these truths to be self evident: that all men are created equal

minds of other people and changed a lot of stereotyping that whites and black used
to think. The speech was about just about African Americans but equal rights as
people. We people are as one and should treat each other with the same respect.
There is no money in the world that will pay for respect or equal rights. One of the
first things I think young people, especially nowadays, should learn is how to see
for yourself and listen for yourself and think for yourself (MalcolmX). Like many
young adults and any older adults listen for yourself and see for yourself. Many
people go by word of mouth thinking they will know the truth about situations that is
happening but in reality they may be given part of a story. Go out and see the truth
for yourself and experience what is being fought for. The rights or yourself and
others and everyone should be a part of it to understand why this is happening and the
outcomes that come about
Analysis Of `` Wild `` By Dr. Parlett
The primary focus of psychoanalysis is uncovering the underlying factors hidden in a
client s unconscious to understand the problems they are facing. In Wild Analysis,
Freud emphasizes the responsibility of the therapist go well beyond stating the facts
and interpretation. The therapist must pave the way for the client to understand the
repressed thoughts and behaviors to guarantee effective therapy (Freud, 2002, p. 7).
A practitioner that enforces the psychoanalytic approach in his practice is Dr. Chad

(p.118) Both Greene and Parlett established this notion that analyzing client
disclosures should be much more than what it is on the surface. The interpretation
should reveal something new that the consumer was initially blinded from, giving
them insight on what they are doing. Thus, the interpretation itself should establish a
greater understanding of who the patient is. A therapeutic technique such as
journaling may be helpful in monitoring a client s events and feelings when they are
not in session. Although journaling may not be a primal psychoanalytic technique, it
does provide a client s interpretation of their own progress and what coping skills they
are currently using. The client could always reference back to the journal during the
session which can offer the therapist a new outlook on the situation which generates
their interpretation. Dr. Parlett incorporates journaling with his theoretical orientation
because it gives him more information about the clients as well as give them a more
active role in their own treatment. Also, Mark Stone has found journaling to be
significantly effective with his own clients. According to Stone (????), journaling
Tap Dancing History
The history of tap originated in the United States from many styles of dance forms
from different ethnicities such as African Tribal, Scottish Dance, Irish and English
clog dances and jigs. Ever since then tap has been updated in many types of styles.
Tap is a form of dance using tap shoes (shoes with metal plates in the heel and ball
of the foot) striking the floor as a form of percussion. It is believed that African
slaves and Irish servants had watched each other dancing on the plantations and
combined them together to invent tap dancing, before it was believed that tap
dancing came from an urban environment such as the Five Points District in New
York City, where many ethnic groups lived together. Tap started between the mid and
late 1800 s,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Leonard Reed said there wasn t a show that didn t feature tap dancing. If you
couldn t dance you couldn t get a job! All kinds of shows featured tap dancing like
nightclubs, vaudeville shows and musicals. Since tap dancing was a common
skill, tap dancers had to create something unique to be noticed. The Berry Brothers
act included rhythmic, synchronized cane twirling and dazzling acrobatics to pop
out. Soon newer styles were invented such as flash, novelty, eccentric, legomania
and comedy, swing tap also known as classical tap, class, military, rhythm, close
floor and paddle and roll. Flash is a style of dance that incorporated acrobatics and
were often used to finish a dance. Novelty is the incorporation into a routine of
specialty props, such as jump ropes, suitcases, and stairs. Eccentric, legomania and
comedy each used the body in eccentric and comedic ways to fool the eye and
characteristically involved wild and wiggly leg movements. Swing/classical tap
combines the upper body movement found in 20th century ballet and jazz with
percussive, syncopated footwork, a style used extensively in the movies. Military is
the use of military marching and drum rhythms. Lastly rhythm, close floor and
paddle and roll each emphasized footwork using heel and toe taps, typically of a

The Effects Of Population Control And Population Control
Pain comes on a spectrum. Pain can be a piercing pain, like a needle piercing the
skin. Pain can be throbbing waves of delirium that come from getting hit in the head.
Pain can be an internal stimulus that inhibits thoughts of bliss. Hunger is the pain or
uneasy sensation caused by the want of food, and affects a large amount of people
worldwide. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates about
795 million people of the 7.3 billion people in the world suffer from chronic
malnourishment in a 2014 2016 study (worldhunger.org, 2016). The ability for
humans to grow exponentially on a limited amount of land is dangerous, for
eventually the amount of resources available will not be succinct enough to allow
everyone to live. This leads to the question on whether population control should be
enacted to prevent such an event. But with the world s population projected to reach
10.1 billion people by the year 2100, it is evident that some change must occur.
(Becker, 2011). Actions have been taken by the biochemical community to better
understand human nutritional needs and revolutionized how crops are grown. In
order to sustain a large population, measures must be taken to improve crop efficiency
with the limited amount of land we have. The recent development of genetically
modified organisms (GMOs) have allowed for unstable combinations of plant, animal,
bacteria, and viral genes that do not normally occur in nature(livingnongmo.org).

Essay Making Management Decisions
Making Management Decisions
ASSIGNMENT 1
Lewandowska Santhirasekaran
1.Principles of business planning and decision making
Decision Making is A commitment to action (Mintzberg, H., 1983, p. 188) ;
Management decisions are made for a lot of different reasons, mainly because
decision making is a fundamental aspect of the management functions and
management decision making which makes it a key management role. (M. Teale,
V.Dispenza, J. Flynn, D.Currie, 2003, p. 10) (D. Boddy, 2008, p. 209)
Now a day s making management decisions has become more and more difficult,
they need to be made more and more quickly; have to be made in increasingly
complex and unpredictable situations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

According to the situation the LiveShows Ltd is at now, all of the decisions will be
programmed , it can be assumed that once programmed decision has been made, then
the consequences will be known. These decisions are normally characterised by a
known set of objectives, and can lend themselves to programmed decision making
methods. Management science offers tools and methodologies that enable the
organisations to deal with managerial problems. It deals with collection, interpretation
and presentation of data; however it is important to remember and understand the
limitations, assumptions and specific applicability of the methods in question. (M.
Teale, V.Dispenza, J. Flynn, D.Currie, 2003, pp. 228, 229)
The decisions are based on business objectives and context; decision making types
can also divide into three, depending on how much the decision made will affect the
business in terms of time and direction; these include:
Strategic Decisions long term decisions that affect the direction of the business
Tactical Decisions medium term decisions based around how to implement a strategy
Operational Decisions short term decisions, also known as administrative decisions
about how to implement the tactics. (T. Hannagan, 2008, p. 425)
2.Possible constraints and problems that may hinder effective decision making

Who Attended The Service As Part Of Their Lifestyle
To experience a new religion is eye opening to me and was very interesting to visit
and collaborate with people who attended the service as part of their lifestyle. First
of all, I am Native American and I see that my Navajo traditions and worshiping
services has a unique and precise way of worshiping. Considering I was raised as a
Southern Baptist throughout my childhood of going to Bible camp and youth
camps which has gotten me to see that it was the only right way of worshiping and
seeing other religions idolizing other physical pagans which I saw this as wrong.
However, this course was a way to be openminded about other cultures besides my
own christian background. As this course concludes, I fine myself seeing the core
roots set back in centuries of all religion of having similar foundations in all aspects
of their history.
As I heard that my dad had connections to a friend, Gordon, who was a Jew and was
more than willing to take me along and experience this new form of worshipping, I
began to have thoughts of their religious people. Their history is unique in many
ways of expressing their dedication in extreme forms of chanting of the Torah. A Jew
would have the consciousness so fixed on studying the Torah, they would have a
constant study of His wisdom, God. When, however, they understood Torah study to
be a ritual act that encompasses more than the logical activities involved.
On August 6 of Saturday I attended a Shabbat morning service at Congregation

В·Although the numbers of younger riders are on the rise, Harley must take notice of
the marketing styles that MTV utilizes.
В·The youth of this country are constantly changing, and constant market research
must be done to keep up with what the next ideas of what is cool.
В·Generally older males are the demographic that Harley Davidson aims for, but the
research I found indicates that women and young men are beginning to purchase
more cruiser style motorcycles.
В·Victory makes a great product, (I should know because I sell them) and they are
on the rise to be the top competition to Harley.
В·Harley must get into the minds of the younger and more feminine crowds by
surveys or incentives that appeal to this new demographic.

Chipotle Incident Summary
This report was commissioned to examine the Chipotle E.Coli outbreak that took
place in the last quarter of 2015 and the internal crisis that ensued causing stocks to
plummet and customers slow to regain trust. This research draws attention to the
managerial strategies attempted after the outbreak to bounce back from the Foodwith
Integrity broken promise. Chipotle started off strong in 1993 with its creative new
take on a fast foodrestaurant by using fresh ingredients, which was sustainably
grown, and showed respect for the animals, land, and farmers. This aspect of
Chipotle is what helped it stand out amongst its competitors. The diligence put into
preparing and catering the food to the guests is the epitome of exceptional customer
service; thus leading to an exponential rise in sales and stock value for the company.
Debatably, the root of Chipotle s issues has been leadership challenges and teamwork
mismatches. This report re counts the events that took place after the catastrophe and

coli outbreak can be seen as exacerbating the problem, even though they were
trying to find ways to resolve the problem. As, as the crisis began, leadership
coming from CEO Steve Ells and Co CEO Monty Moran portrayed repudiation. One
of the first decisions made in reaction to the E. coli outbreak was to purchase full
paid advertisements. This marketing tactic was a ploy to mask the severity of the
epidemic, soothe investors, and retain loyal customers. In addition to paper ads,
Chipotle decided to advertise using direct mail and television advertisements (Wahba,
2016). This practice did not correlate with traditional chipotle advertising; before the
outbreak, their last paid advertisement took place in 2012. Chipotle has always
operated in a fashion that let their brand, and high quality products speak for
themselves. However, both Ells and Moran felt that the time to promote their brand
was needed more than

How do the later war poets differ in their treatment of war from early war poets?
World War I was noticeable for the vast amounts of poetry that was produced from
many of the soldiers. The poets wrote vastly over the years 1914 1918 and they all
expressed many different opinions. It was a way of getting their views across to
other people. Some of the poems even made aware of the fact and the true horror
of the war. During the first half of World War I, the poems that were produced had
a very patriotic and glorious view to them. As the war progressed, the poems
became more bitter as the true extent of what was really going on, was unveiled.
Some of the poets we will be looking at include Wilfred Owen and Laurence Binyon.

The Soldier has two versus to this poem. The first verse has eight lines and is
called an octet; the second verse has six lines and is called a sestet. Therefore, this
poem is a sonnet. It has a rhyme scheme of ABABCDCDEFGEFG. This gives the
poem a regular flow and a constant beat. This is much easier for the reader to
understand.
Fall In is another patriotic poem yet again and this is shown throughout the poem.
This poem has four versus and the rhyme scheme is
ABABCDCDEFEFGHGH and continues like this until the end of the poem.
This rhyme scheme has a regular and beat which makes the every second line of the
poem stand out to the reader.
The next poem we studied was Rendezvous written by Alan Seeger and it is quite a
dull poem about death. This poem also is a personification, like For the Fallen .
Only this time, the personification is of death. It, yet again, has a constant rhyme
scheme. Only this time, it is very effective. Because the poem is a dull poem, the
constant beat keeps the reader interested in the main topic of the poem.
You could say, if you wish, that most of the pre war poems we have studied are very
similar. They are patriotic and they promote the war.
They also don t tell you what the war is really like.
As the war progressed, the hideousness of the war became more apparent. With
poets like Sasson being produced, people could see the war for what it really was.
There were a number of poets that were

A Comparison Of The Hobbit And The Story Of Sigurd
As the English poet Robert Graves said One gets to the heart of the matter by a
series of experiences in the same pattern, but in different colors. This quote is
exemplified in the stories of The Hobbit and The Story of Sigurd when they have
action and use the same hero s journey pattern to create a great story. Both authors of
the stories use strong and resilient characters in their stories to take down the
monsters. In this case, there are two heroes taking down a greedy dragon. Based on
the stories and characters, authors are also able to show their own opinions in the
stories. Concluding that, both the scene with Smaugand Fafnir have similarities in
characteristics and outcomes in the story, showing that authors follow the same...

This asking of questions shows that the dragons can use that information to
manipulate the character into thinking about something in a different way. However,
in both stories, the character doesn t give in to the persuasiveness, but Bilbo from The
Hobbit does give Smaug just the slightest of information of where he came from and
Smaug used it to cause destruction. From finding all the similarities in the two stories
there is enough information to conclude that Tolkien used The Story of Sigurdto gain
ideas to create The Hobbit, however both stories are also very different. Of course
in every adventure story, you need a protagonist, and in The Hobbit and The Story
of Sigurd both show great examples of heroic protagonists. Plus, both of the heroes
kill the huge dragon similarly. A main thing that the two heroes have in common is
that they use a special weapon to kill the enemy. In The Hobbit, Bard uses a rare
arrow called a black arrow ; Arrow! said the bowman. Black arrow! I have saved you
to the last. You have never failed me and always I have recovered you. I had you
from my father and he from of old. (Tolkien 251). Sigurd also uses a special sword
to kill the dragon Fafnir; Then Sigurd went to his mother, and asked for the broken
pieces of his father s blade, and gave them to Regin. And he hammered and wrought
them into a new sword, so sharp that fire seemed to burn along its edges. (Lang).
Karl Marx and Frederick Engel Essay
I believe that Karl Marx and Frederick Engel and W.E.B Du Bois are both right.
They both had one specific goal in mind; social equality. Karl Marx and Frederick
Engel wanted to close the gap between the ruling class and the working class. The
working class were being overworked and underpaid while working in factories.
Marx and Engels wanted equality in the society by advocating for a communist
society, where all people have equal access to resources. W.E.B Du Bois wanted
African Americans to have the same equal rights as the white men. African
Americans were neglected in the American society and were not allowed the same
rights as the white men.

Without economic equality in the society, freedom and political equality could not
be achieved. The manifesto was to advocate for the redistribution of resources as
the most effective way of promoting democracy far beyond the earlier democracy
which is practiced in a capitalist society. Through the establishment of communist
society, resources and social amenities such as education, health and housing could
be provided on an equal basis . During the period of industrial revolution disparity
level and social life was becoming hard for the working class. Thus, communist was
considered as the solution to the social conflict that was prevalent in the society and
the antagonist resolution between men and nature, necessity and freedom. They were
right to advocate for the communist society to promote the welfare of the working
population in the society. It was the best remedy of preventing the exploitation of the
working class and ensuring that democracy prevail for all people regardless of their
position and status in the society.
W.E.B Du Bois was right to advocate for the abolishment of segregation of African

Americans were disregarded in the American society and were denied them privilege

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Essay
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart is and was a remarkable musician and composer whose legend continues to
grow more than two centuries after his death. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born
in Salzburg, Austria in 1756. Before the age of four, he had exhibited such
extraordinary powers of musical memory and ear sophistication that his father,
Leopold, a highly esteemed violinist and composer in his own right, decided to give
his son, Wolfgang, harpsichord lessons. From day one of his lessons, the boy s
reputation as a fast learning, modern, talented musician grew fast. At five, he was
composing music; at six, he was a keyboard virtuoso, so much so that Leopold took
Wolfgang and his sister Maria Anna on a performance tour of Munich and Vienna....

At fifteen, Mozart was invited to be the concertmaster in the orchestra of the
Archbishop of Salzburg. Things did not go very well. Mozart and the Archbishop
constantly argued, and in 1781, Mozart said goodbye to the bishop and hello to
Vienna, against his father s wishes.
Now a grown man, Mozart thrived in Vienna. He was in great demand as a
performer and composition teacher, and his first opera, The Abduction from the
Seraglio, was a hit in Vienna. But life for him was not easy. He was a poor
musician, and money was always tight, especially after his marriage to Constanze
Weber. Political fighting at the Vienna court kept him from gaining patronage, and
he descended to a life of poverty. His music from the next decade and it came at a
very fast rate was only sporadically popular, and he eventually fell back on his
teaching jobs and on the charity of friends to make ends meet. In 1788 he stopped
performing in public, preferring to
compose. But fortune never turned, and when he died in 1791 at the age of thirty
five, he was buried in a pauper s grave.
To say that Mozart was a composer of unsurpassed genius is scarcely scratching the
surface of this man s remarkable gifts. He wrote music, complete and perfect, down to
the last accent and inflection as fast as he could think, and this astonishing rate of
production continues to stupefy scholars today. In

On Friday November 22, 1963 in Dallas texas the 35th president of the United
States John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald while
travelling in a motorcade in Dealey Plaza, or that is what is said to have
happened.(Miller, 2017) Some believe that there was a little more to the
assassination then just the one shooter. This conspiracy is that there was more
than just one shooter and that there was a larger group group behind the event
other than just Oswald himself. There are quite a few events that occured that
make this theory that much more believable. The two things that happened that
stand out to me the most are the murder of Oswald just two days after JFK s death
and the fact that after audio analysis the HSCA concluded that there was a fourth

was being transferred from city jail to county jail he was shot at close range and

writes: [w]e Romans are the rulers of the greatest and best parts of the world and yet
we find ourselves spurned and trampled upon by a [woman] of Egypt… (52).
He continues with Roman propaganda retelling the great accomplishments of Roman
forefathers and then stresses that the men who have achieved these feats of
arms…would be cut to the heart if ever they knew that we have been
overcome by this pestilence of a [woman]… (53). He verbally attacks the
Egyptian culture and drives home his dislike of them and their barbarisms by
saying worst of all, they are not ruled by a man, but are the slaves of a [woman] (53).
In conclusion he writes:
But, in the end, I cannot describe to you any greater prize that that of upholding the
renown which your forefathers won, of preserving the proud tradition of your native
lands, of punishing those who have rebelled against us, of conquering and ruling
over all mankind, and [of allowing no woman to make herself equal to a man] (55).
The dislike of women in positions of power and the absolute necessity to deprive
them of this power can be seen in Dio s writing. Dio stresses Cleopatra s gender and
makes it the supreme motivator for the ensuing war with Egypt by the marking the
importance of conquering Cleopatra and removing her from her throne.
Cleopatra s political power is further reduced in the
Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse
Overview of Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse Gathering requirements from
end users was an important step in resolving the issues that currently exist at
Canadian Tire. Gathering requirements for a data warehouse is not the same as
defining the requirements for an operational system (Ponniah, pg. 121). When you
research and then develop any system, it is critical that the system produces exactly
what the users need to perform their specific tasks. CTC did not have this production
for their end users. These users typically do not understand the big picture workings
of a data warehousingprocess. Therefore, the help of a business analyst is critical.
From the results provided in the case study, we can agree that these requirements
must be addressed:
Capacity constraints
User query times
Defined data model
Full enabling of access to enterprise data
Overview of Canadian Tire s Business Intelligence The current process for CTC to
acquire BI is a broken system. Much of the information derived, from the current
data in the warehouse, was done by FRAG, individual user groups and hired
business analysts who extracted data and created reports. This was creating a serious
misallocation of resources and responsibilities throughout the company. Shadow
groups, created to complete some of the required BI tasks, were not only less
efficient than an organized strategy, but were also a security risk to CTC. With small
groups taking over the responsibility of creating BI, the
Voces Inocentes Civil War
The 2004 film Voces Inocentes directed by a Mexican filmmaker Luis Mandoki,
seeks to tell a story about embattled childhood of the co writer Oscar Torres. This
embattled childhood is portrayed in the film regarding the civil war that occurred in
El Salvador in the 1980s. The account of what took place in the civil war is told from
the perspective of an 11 year old boy named Chava played by Carlos Padilla.
According to Chasqui 2007, The El Salvador civil war commenced when the farmers
who were a part of the political party, Frente Farabundo MartГ para la LiberaciГіn

They have to face the oppressive violation against human rights in order for the
soldiers to carry out their political regime. According to Chasqui, the cardboard
houses lie in the crossfire on the conflict where the government soldiers and leftist
rebel forces collide, gradually turning the blissful village into a war zone. The first
occurrence of shooting took place one day when Chava s mother went to work in the
evening. When the wild shooting began, Chava the protagonist, who is el hombre de
la casa due to the father abandoning the family, ensured that his brother and sister
are safe as he gathered them under the bed. Even though this was a horrifying
situation Chava the protagonist, who was brave and heroic, had the situation
under control. Even when his little brother, Ricardo was crying, Chava took
control as he took his mother s lipstick to mark his face as a form of distraction for
his brother to stop crying. Although the situation was intense he did not allow it to
deter his role as man of the house. In fulfilling his role as man of the house he goes
around trying to sell what his mother had sown and he even seeks a job to help his
mother by working on a bus with a

Toowoomba City is located 125km from Brisbane in Queensland on the Western
side of the Great Dividing Range. It consists of two main creek catchments, east
creek and west creek catchments. In January 2011 there was a main flooding event
which caused a large flood event that is described as an Inland Tsunami . Figure 1
Catchment map of Toowoomba identifying major hydraulic features. Source [1]
The factors that contributed to the major storm was:
There was an initial rainfall even of 90mm which occurred over 24 hours before
which caused the catchments to be fully saturated. As a result any major rainfall
events would be converted directly into surface water runoff
Most of the catchments depicted in Figure 1 where fully urbanised which caused
surfaces in the catchment to be impervious; that is very little runoff would infiltrate
into the ground
There were intense rainfall events that occurred over the Gowrie creek catchment;
with an event greater than a 100 year ARI storm experienced at the rainfall gauges
Due to the large intensities of rainfalls caused both East and West creeks to fill up.
Due to both creeks flowing in the same direction no drainage could occur to Gworiee
creek causing inundation shown in Appendix Figure 2 Recorded Maximum rainfall

The Endosymbiotic Theory
Before eukaryotic cells contained organelles and worked symbiotically as one, life
consisted of free living bacteria. Organelles, such as chloroplasts and mitochondria,
that are currently found in eukaryotic cells are theorized to have been separate
bacteria before the evolutionary success of the eukaryotic cell. Such idea is proven
through the endosymbiotic theory. This concept provides an evolutionary origin for
the mitochondrion and chloroplast seen in organisms of today. This theory is held
together by DNAevidence found within the organelles themselves. The
mitochondrion alone contain its own genome enclosed in the form of circular DNA,
as well as their own ribosomes and transfer RNA. Similarly, the chloroplasts have
their own genome. When compared to their bacterial ancestors, these DNA sequences
resemble that of the respective organelles. The DNA sequences of these genes
provide clear evidence to the evolutionary success of the eukaryotic cell.... Show

One of these of which were the mitochondrion then the chloroplast respectively over
time. However, the ancestral cell had no need for a free living oxygen metabolizing
bacteria to live symbiotically within its membrane due to its anaerobic nature. After
consumption, the mitochondrial free living bacteria bypassed digestion and
progressed into the membrane of the ancestral cell. This initiated the symbiotic
relationship. The cell can now receive power generation within itself, while the
mitochondria take shelter in the cell. Additionally, the chloroplast has similar
originations; the photosynthetic bacteria were consumed then used in symbiosis to
create food for the ancestral
The Bell Tolls For Liberty On Campus Analysis
The bell tolls for liberty on campus. First off I don t believe these statistics. The
education system is in place to... educate people. I have a hard time believing that
these kids honestly believe in views such as shouting down people who are
controversial. How could anyone actually say they believe in that? Do they not
realize how silly they sound? The 56 percent saying that the First Amendment
protects hate speech sounds nice... but then it devolves to more than 51 percent
say they think that shouting to silence someone is acceptable? Did they survey
two different group for these questions? 19 percent believing in violence is also
something I find hard to believe in as it should be 0 percent. I am not sure what I
would place the blame on. The article directs it to parents, the media, and
highschool teachers. I believe part of the blame would be on the legal justice
system: people being sued and fired over saying phrases that are not politically
correct puts the mindset that those ideas/phrases are inherently evil. Another blame
I would put it on is Obama: as a kid growing up I never considered anything racist
/thought about it... and as soon as Obama is in office, racism becomes a top
mainstream issue? I believe it became a top issue as racism started to be used to
shout people... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Residential School System In Canada
In the late 19th century the Residential School System was devised in early Canada.
The system, specifically aimed at assimilating the new generations of Indigenous
people was implemented across Canada and had resounding and poignant effects. The
introduction of the Residential School System stripped Indigenous people of their
children and their beliefs, and forced them to adopt a new faith. The physical torture
and brainwashing that the students were forced to endure caused them to lose their
roots and therefore creating the collapse of Indigenous cultures.
The residential school system were institutions that were funded by the government.

The schools worked on a half day system where the children would learn for half
the day and worked for the rest, this allowed them to earn a living in society as
well as learning the ways of a new religion and the ways of a new society. In reality,
the work was only a cover for the government and allowed the schools to be run
inexpensively. Funding was quite low from when the schools opened to around
the 1950 s, the government often pushed economic responsibility onto the
churches and the students whose work was a financial contribution to the schools.
Eventually the funding for the schools was increased, but it was no secret that the
schools were failing at providing appropriate education and training to the
students. The routine of the residential schools was a strict one. The days began
early in the morning, students were often summoned by a bell that would signify
when to wake up, when to eat, and when to work and go to class, as seen in the
first hand account of Pauline Dempsey who attended an Anglican residential
school. There was strict discipline at the school. There were certain times of the
day when the bell rang and we had to adhere to the rules of the bell to get up in the
morning, to go to chapel, to go to eat, to go to the classroom, to signify our
playtime, recess from class, and to go to bed (Dempsey, 2011, В¶ 9). Breakfast and
most commonly all meals were simple and were eaten quickly. The day for students
Metacognition In Frankenstein
With experience comes wisdom, and with wisdom comes the ability to think through
metacognition. In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, Tim Hughes Wodwo , Samuel
Coleridge s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner , and Percy Bysshe Shelley s
Mutability , metacognition plays the role of opening the characters eyes to both joy
and suffering. However, in order to fully grasp the nature of metacognitionand its
effects on how people act, one must be familiar with the term.
Metacognition refers to higher order thinking which involves active control over the
cognitive processes engaged in learning. This process of thinking allows for one to
learn on one s own as the most effective self learners are self regulating (Taylor).

The Human and the Divine Essay
The Human and the Divine
1) Introduction
Through out history, as man progressed from a primitive animal to a human being
capable of thought and reason, mankind has had to throw questions about the
meaning of our own existence to ourselves. Out of those trail of thoughts appeared
religion, art, and philosophy, the fundamental process of questioning about
existence. Who we are, how we came to be, where we are going, what the most
ideal state is....... All these questions had to be asked and if not given a definite
answer, then at least given some idea as to how to begin to search for, as humans
probed deeper and deeper into the riddle that we were all born into. As time passed,

He tells us why we must not live only for our own advantage; because it is against
our nature as humans to do so, because without the basis of this human

most in our fellow human beings are the most natural to us because they were
endowed to us from the gods so that the race of human beings and the human
society could go on existing. We can know this from his words; People who argue
like this subvert the whole basis of humans community itself and when that is gone,
kind actions, generosity, goodness, and justice are annihilated. And their annihilation
is a sin against the immortal gods. For it was they who established the society
which such men are undermining. Cicero s belief in the natural goodness of the
human race was stead fast because he believed that it was endowed to us from the

and also of what he thought the coming of god will do for the good of his people.
Virgil percieved the humans race as being in the Iron Age (In Ovid s

Bosnian Genocide Causes
The Bosnian Genocide is a genocide that began in April 1992 with the goal to
ethnically cleanse Bosnian territory. Serbians targeted Bosniaks (Muslim Bosnians)
and Croatians civilians and aimed to eliminate them through the use of former
Yugoslavian military equipment. Before the genocide began, many different ethnic
and religious groups lived under Yugoslavia s communist regime. Although there was
tension, President Josip Broz Tito was able to keep the country together through
dictatorship. Tito was considered a benevolent dictator and his regime ensured that
the country stayed unified. However, when Tito died in 1980, the tension between
different ethnic and religious groups increased and eventually led to the Bosnian
genocide. Slobodan Milosevic rose to power seven years leader by using nationalism
to his advantage. Milosevic favored the Serbsand and made changes to the
constitution to show this. Milosevic also formed a military that was 90% Serbian.

Mathematical Analysis Of Inverted Pendulum System
Mathematical Analysis The inverted pendulum is mounted on a moving cart. The
cart is combined with a servo current motor. The motor is gotten from servo gadgets;
circuits process controller of the error signal, which then pushes the carriage through
the servomotor and the driving rail system. To fro motion of the cart applies torque
on the inverted pendulum and hence keeps the pendulum in a upright position. The

Demographic And Socio Economic Changes
Demographic and socio economic changes effect cities, its economy and ultimately
the country as a whole. Changes in demographics tells us if an area is losing or
gaining population and may act accordingly to help it survive. Family patterns
change over a period of time as more women go out for jobs rather than stay at
home. As medical field advances, the life span of human increases and these changes
can show that the median age of the populationis growing. Setting up of new
industries or business houses in a city might bring in the working population and help
in improving the economic condition of the area.
This report presents some of the demographic and socio economic data collected
from American Community Survey 1 Year Estimates for the years 2006, 2009 and
2012 w.r.t. 203 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) in United States of America.
These MSA have been selected as the most populated MSA in USA for the year 2012.
The most populous MSA in USA included a few MSA from Puerto Rico and
Alaska and was removed to focus only on Mainland USA. It was also observed that
most of the MSA when plotted on the map of USA are in East USA (155 MSA).
Montana and Wyoming did not have any MSA among these 203 MSA. For the
purpose of this report, Microsoft Excel and Tableau where used to store, clean and

Sometimes downloading e books can be a time consuming and lengthy process if
the Internet is slow. Technology is always changing with time, many older adults
are unfamiliar with the e readers, and they still prefer a traditional book to e books.
Traditional books are simple to access. This makes it convenient for the people of all
ages.
Buying traditional books can be expensive when bought at standard retail price,
while eBooks are often less expensive. However, traditional books are free to read
in the library. In addition, you have a choice of buying second hand books. Used
books can go for a very low price. A traditional book can have a good resale value
while there is a frequently an option to buy or rent the digital copy. However,
buying e books is not like owning a physical copy.Traditional books are costly to
publish, especially when in several different languages and this is a very time
consuming process. With the help of modern technology, it is now possible to have
EBooks in different languages with much less cost to the publisher. E book also
reduces the cost of paper, ink, printing, and delivery, and it is more eco friendly.
Loosing traditional book can be costly to replace

The Allisons In The Summer People By Shirley Jackson
The prompt I have chosen is, In the story The Summer People, The Allisons believe
that the locals (the Country People) are harassing them because of their decision to
stay at the cottage past Labor Day. Do you believe the locals are actually doing this
or do you believe the Allisons are simply paranoid and imagining this? Please
respond in a concise, well written three paragraph essay with specific examples and
textual evidence from the text to support your answer.
In Shirley Jackson s short story, The SummerPeople the Allisons decided to stay at
their summer cottage past labor day. This decision, however may not have been for
the best. After making this decision the Allisons began to become paranoid as
things started to not go their way. First of all the townspeople began to question
them as to why they wanted to stay. They informed them that no one had ever stayed
past Labor Day. The Allisons also had to deal with the fact they could no longer buy
kerosene or have their groceries delivered as they had during the summer months.
They also received an interesting letter from their son that left them feeling confused
and a bit concerned because it did not sound like their son s writing. Lastly they had
things in their house that were braking such as their phone. Their car also had
somehow broken and was no longer functioning. All of these occurrences startled the
Allison. They couldn t understand how they had been able to live so peacefully in
their cottage all summer

  • 2. Sea Ray Marketing Paper Where Land Ends, Life Begins Sea Ray Marketing Plan Executive Summary The boating industry has suffered serious revenue losses since the 2008 downturn in the economy. Our strategy for Sea Ray of Knoxville minimizes risk yet strengthens and refines the current marketing campaign. Analysis indicates a concentration on families and communities would coincide with Sea Ray s current image that Where land ends, life begins. Sea Ray is a private subsidiary of Brunswick Corporation. The company sells four product lines which include Sport Boats, Sport Cruisers, Sport Yachts, and Yachts. The company was founded in 1959 and was one of the first to use fiberglass in the construction of recreational boats. To differentiate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now that momentum is gone; however, sport boat manufacturers are optimistic about the next ten years. A tidal wave of retiring baby boomers could offer substantial new buyers when the economy rebounds. The boating industry in general forecasts better days ahead. D. Long Term Industry Outlook There is a bright future for the sport boat industry; the market as a whole is expected to grow in the near future. In 2006 the sport boat market had a total value of $6.9 billion; that value has climbed by 9.3% each year, and that trend is expected to continue for the next 3 years. This means that the sport boat market will be worth $10.1 billion by 2014. This industry rebound is dependent upon the recovery of the market and a general change in attitude of banks to lend more money for boat purchases. In addition to this overall market growth and economic recovery, we can expect sport boat sales to increase due to an increase in the number of boat purchasers. As the baby boomers reach retirement age, the number of boats sold can be expected to increase causing the overall market to increase at a rate greater than the expected 9.3%. With this explosion in the sport boat market, positive economic activity, and the increased willingness of banks to grant loans, it is expected that the sport boat market will expand beyond all future expectations.4 II. • 3. Essay on It Happened on the Way to War. It Happened On The Way To War Paper It Happened On The Way To War is a book by Rye Barcott. This book talks about a marine who dreams of making a difference in the world. We read about his life, feeling as if we were a part of it. Three values that he clearly shows in this book are balance, leadership and Inspiration. Somebody once said that in order to succeed in life, you have to have a balance between your personal life and your professional life. Rye Barcott not only shows us the importance of having a balance, but he also shows us how hard it is to find that balance. While he was a part of the Marines, he was expected to transition easily from the combat mode to peace keeping mode. He thought that he will be able to separate the ... He inspired a shared a vision, Salim told Rye his dream about Kibera s future and how he is currently trying to achieve it, however he probably did not expect Rye to actually support the dream or even come back to Kibera. However Rye shocked him by not only coming back to Kibera, but also by working with him to achieve his goal. Tabitha s meeting with Rye is a great example of how Rye encouraged the heart. He had just met Tabitha and she was asking him to trust her and help her. There was no guarantee that Tabitha would succeed, but Rye supported her and helped her achieve her dream. Challenging the Process requires you to stand up and stand out of the crowd. There are many books published about a person and the amount of good her or she does in the world. However the reason that Rye s story is different from others is because Rye is a marine. People are attracted to this book, because on the front cover the caption reads A Marines Path To Peace Which is very unique. When people think about the Marines, they think of war not peace. There aren t many books about a marine that fights a war in the day, and runs a non profit organization by night. The work that Rye does in his book, things like organizing soccer tournaments and trash clean ups, enables others to act. In order for the kids to
  • 4. Summary Of Martha C. Nussbaum s Anger And Forgiveness Sometimes people can be angry or furious. However, when the time passes they do not even remember their anger. Should they stay angry or should they let it go as Martha C. Nussbaum says in the Anger and Forgiveness book? To answer this question, the notion of anger needs to be explored. For instance, according to Nussbaum, in the Middle Realm , angeris the domain of life , and affects the way we spend our lives (p.138). Nussbaum says that we mostly deal with people who we meet temporarily; it can be at work, at the store or on the street, but we do it on a regular basis. Therefore, as the author points out, we do not get into a deep relationship with these people in this realm, and this is a short term situation. Also, Nussbaum says that she finds it easy to transition herself in a non anger situation with people who she loves. On the other hand, she finds it harder to transition from this feeling when dealing with irritating strangers (p. 139). Furthermore, the author agrees with the Stoics that mixture of heterogeneous elements is not worth to pay attention to. She gives some examples of the heterogeneous elements, which could be improper termination of employment, negligent medical treatment, harassment on the job, theft, etc. (p.139). Instead of being angry, Nussbaum suggests Transition (before) or Transition Anger (after). She also indicates that there is no point in getting further embroiled, mentally and emotionally (p.141). Indeed, this recommendation is essential for a business world where people have a tendency to get frustrated fast. By applying Nussbaum s techniques of controlling the anger, businesses can not only improve the working environment within their companies, but also prevent customers from being angry in various situations. A good example of possible applications of Nussbaum s anger techniques is demonstrated in the article BA says most flights running; angry passengers face delays. People s anger and an inability of the British Airways company to address the problem lead to negative customers experience and damaging the company s reputation. In this case, the Middle Realm anger is described which is usually not important. Even though people are angry, there is nothing
  • 5. Comparing The Alien And Forgotten Planet By Doug Delanty From the moment they are born, children are wondering about their world. Parents often enjoy watching their children grow up and reflect upon what they discovered and what they have yet to discover. In The Alien , Greg Delanty is describing expecting parents questions while awaiting a child. Similarly, in Forgotten Planet , Doug Dorph describes children s imaginationand compares it to adulthood. The parents in these poems are able to rely upon space or visualize it as to having an important role in the life of a child. Both The Alien by Greg Delanty and Forgotten Planet by Doug Dorph use a motif of space as parents search to understand children; however, the parentfigures in the poems view space in different ways. In The Alien , Delanty explains the anxious feeling that parents have before having a baby and uses the motif of space to try to explain how parents try to answer some of the questions they have. As the experience of having a child is new to these parents, they use a metaphor to compare their child to an alien and a martian (Delanty 9, 11). This demonstrates that they are anxious because they neither know how the child will behave nor how to cooperate with the new child. They also have other questions about their coming child, expressed when Delanty writes, we re anxious/ to make contact, to ask divers questions/ about the heavendom you hail from, to discuss/ the whole shebang of the beginning end,/ the pre big bang untime before you forget the why
  • 6. Marquis Color Test Paper As chemist with forensic case work and field experience, I know low cost and low tech methods of analysis are in demand. While such methods are typically presumptive in nature, they play a vital role in both lab and field analysis. Presumptive tests allow users to triage samples for confirmatory analysis, saving time and expense. Whether a crime scene, combat zone, or natural disaster site, presumptive assays influence command decisions. In technology deficient areas, presumptive assays may be the totality of the analysis available. Most presumptive tests are color tests, providing a visual cue to the user as to the presence of a particular compound (1 2). While color tests have their benefits, a big drawback is the false positive (3), i.e. the erroneous compound is here . My research focuses on minimizing false positives, false negatives, and generally improving the selectivity of color tests without sacrificing their ease of use and low cost.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This test is routinely employed in the field, usually as an all inclusive kit like Safariland s NarcoPouch shown in Figure 1 (4). A positive result is obtained for morphine (DEA Schedule II), codeine (DEA Schedule II/III), heroin(DEA Schedule I), and over the counter (OTC) aspirin. The OTC result is a false positive, as a true positive is a scheduled opiate. Colors noted by users to describe each compound s test include pink, pink to purple, red purple, and magenta. Given that the accepted reaction mechanism involves the dimerization of opiates (5), it is conceivable that each of these compound s test results are a different tint or shade of red (i.e. different pinks) as they correspond to different structures. The challenge for users in discriminating between compounds are the similarity of resulting colors and limits of the user s color acuity. Different
  • 7. Disadvantages Of 4 White Powders From the table four appropriate simple tests can be conducted in order to determine the structure type and identify the four white powders. This includes conducting tests of melting point, flame color, solubility and the conductivity in water (H20). The melting point of a substance is the temperature at which the material changes from a solid to a liquid state. The determination of melting points is a form of identification and test method for organic substance. The melting point is an easy way measure and classify substances. Testing the flamecolor is an appropriate test as metalions change the color of a flame when they are heated. Different metal ions give different colors to the flame. So flame tests can be used to identify the presence of a particular metal in a sample. Solubility is appropriate as a solvent a substance will dissolve in gives hints to its identity. Conductivity in water (H20) identifies if a substance is ionic or molecular. If a solution of compound and water has high conductivity level, the compound is ionic if not it is molecular. Flame test Melting POINT Solubility Conductivity in water Materials: 8 test tubes Test Tube Rack Spatula Electrical conductor kit Four unknown substances (C,F, E, D) Peg Distilled water Procedure: Flame color 1.
  • 8. My Educational Goals and Philosophy Statement Essay My Education Philosophy I ve always believed very strongly in hard work, perseverance, strong moral character. These traits to me are what exemplifies a superior teacher that has the privilege to touch many lives and change the world we live in. Hardwork is something that isn t artificial, or can t be bought. It s a very special characteristic that sets people apart in the respect that it shows who want s to be successful and make a difference and who doesn t. In being a teacher hardwork comes with the job and it s important that the teacher understands that before going into the profession. To be an effective teacherrequires perseverance , which is something that is extremely important to the profession as a whole. Teaching at times can be very stressful and frustrating and like any job it can be very easy to give up and quit when times get tough or seem to be spiraling out of control. Children are very sensitive with their feelings and emotions and sometimes the blame is put on you the teacher by the student even though it may not be your fault in whatever happened. Parents can be very hard to get along with as well and it requires a lot of composure in explaining issues that may not be popular with the parent or child. Perseverance is very important to a teacher s well being as far as staying on task and coming up with new concepts that can better benefit the students as well as the teacher. Something that can be easily overlooked in being a teacher is the trait of being a strong moral character . In the occupation field of teaching there will be times when people will look to you for answers, or opinions that will benefit the teaching environment as well as the curriculum, or will not benefit the teaching environment and it s up to you to speak your mind in what you believe to be ethical, concise, and why you made that particular decision in the first place. Having a strong moral character shows others who you really are and what you truly stand for as an educator. It also
  • 9. King Alfred Research Paper King Alfred of Wessex was probably the best known of all Anglo Saxon rulers . And Alfred s reputation still stands high with historians, though few would now want to follow following, claiming him as the most perfect character in history. Alfred is someone who has had greatness thrust upon him. How and why did he acquire his glowing reputation, and how does it stand up today? There can be no doubt that Alfred s reign was significant, both for the direction of the country s development and the fortunes of his descendants. Alfred was the only surviving Anglo Saxon province. Alfred nearly succumbed to the Vikings, but kept his nerve and won a decisive victory at the battle of Edington in 879. He then paved the way for the future unity of England, who conquered the remaining areas held by the Vikings in the east and north, so that by the mid tenth century, the England we are familiar with, was ruled as one country for the first time. Alfred studied, and even translated from Latin into Old English, certain works that were regarded as most necessary for all men to know . Alfred also tried to put these principles into practice, for instance, he became convinced that those in authority in church or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One could say that Alfred asserted the positive, and ignored those elements of ruthless, dictator like behavior which any king needed to survive in the ninth century. Alfred did what other kings as himself during that time could not risk to do or afford for his own country/nation, which was to be a fair and just and show kindness to almost everyone in his domain. As a pious king with an interest in promoting the use of English, Alfred was an ideal figure for emerging English at a Protestant Church. It was from this period that Alfred became favoured as a Christian name at all levels of society in that time
  • 10. Subwoofer Research Paper Are you planning to enhance your car s audio system by installing subwoofers in it? It is a worthwhile decision and you can get high quality subwoofers at Joe s Stereo for sure! Subwoofers are a vital part of car audio system equipment. It augments the quality of the songs and plays the otherwise noiseless low sound frequencies. A subwoofer is similar to a regular loudspeaker, but usually intensifies sound frequencies, which range between 60 to 150 Hz. Cars typically come attached with small speakers, which do not produce low frequencies. So, it is often advantageous to use a distinct speaker for listening to low frequency sounds. • 11. I Am A Professional Engineer It is not easy to become a successful, professional engineer. A professional engineer requires high responsibility, especially problem based solving skills to cope with workplace environment and compete with others. Problem based learning (PBL) is really important to reflect the professional practice of engineers. There have been several definitions of PBL. According to Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.134), PBL is the approach that allows learners to practice finding solutions throughout their academy. Learners in a PBL process have to reflect, identify and learn about the complex problem and the cycle is repeated until learners find a solution that they can do both in writing and presentation. There are some basics of PBL such as decision making, communication, collaboration, self regulation, self motivation and flexibility. These basics are the base for every engineerto become a successful professional practicing engineer. Decision making ability helps engineers to learn deeply from the problems and have ability to analyse and get the detail of the problems before planning to solve them. Deep learners focus on the problem carefully and get all information about it. Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.126) state that the experiences of the effective learning from deep learning leads learners to understand key words and general principle to develop both technic and profession. Not only deep learning, decision making ability improves

They ve tried different winter gear made out of different materials, but they always found themselves too cold or too hot. And are wasting there money on different kinds of winter gear, and most do not work out. What if they tried wool, synthetic, or alpacawool, which one keeps people the warmest in the winter? By 4000 BC, Babylonians were wearing clothing out of crudely woven wool fabric. Alpaca wool is not as tightly bound as wool, thus making it easier to breath through but, is also thick enough to keep in the heat better than regular wool. I plan on attending college to earn my masters or doctorate degree in a medical field of study.I hope to attend one of the following colleges: Ohio State, Michigan State, or UCLA. Ohio State is located in Columbus, Ohio, Michigan State is located in East Lansing, Michigan, and UCLA is located Los Angeles, California. When looking at these three colleges, I will be comparing overall fees, varsity sports, student population, the size of city where the universityis located, and the awards offered. Out of these three universities, I would prefer the Ohio State University. When I am looking for a college, I look at the total fees it takes to go to that college. Ohio State, on the main campus and in state, annually costs $25,579. Ohio States total costs are lower than both Michigan State and UCLA. Michigan State costs an average of $48,848 and UCLA costs $33, 391, which is a difference of $13,000 and $8,000. In addition, the people portrayed have precise naturalistic details and proportions regarding their clothing, bodies, and facial expressions. The window s detail did not serve as a priority in the drawing exercise because I believed the unity of its parts was central to making it look as accurate as possible. Additionally, I learned that the unification of the drawing s parts were necessary in drawing the window. It can be said in the spiritual life that Jesus makes our brokenness whole and creates beauty out of it, much like how the beauty of stained glass window only makes sense as a unified whole. I took some time in the beginning of the drawing exercise to examine the window for a second time, which allowed me to see that these pieces only made sense together. Yes, the pieces of stained glass are pretty by themselves, but they only form the image of the thirteenth station when together. Examining the stained glass window for a second time also allowed me to notice black spaces in between the pieces of stained glass. I learned that these areas of black space not only separate each part, but are also essential to the beauty of the window, and that drawing images is as much about using space well as it is about detail. In an art history class I took last year, I learned that there was a period of time where artists would use all available space on a surface out of fear of

Pain can be throbbing waves of delirium that come from getting hit in the head. Pain can be an internal stimulus that inhibits thoughts of bliss. Hunger is the pain or uneasy sensation caused by the want of food, and affects a large amount of people worldwide. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization estimates about 795 million people of the 7.3 billion people in the world suffer from chronic malnourishment in a 2014 2016 study (worldhunger.org, 2016). The ability for humans to grow exponentially on a limited amount of land is dangerous, for eventually the amount of resources available will not be succinct enough to allow everyone to live. This leads to the question on whether population control should be enacted to prevent such an event. But with the world s population projected to reach 10.1 billion people by the year 2100, it is evident that some change must occur. (Becker, 2011). Actions have been taken by the biochemical community to better understand human nutritional needs and revolutionized how crops are grown. Karl Marx and Frederick Engel wanted to close the gap between the ruling class and the working class. The working class were being overworked and underpaid while working in factories. Marx and Engels wanted equality in the society by advocating for a communist society, where all people have equal access to resources. During the period of industrial revolution disparity level and social life was becoming hard for the working class. Thus, communist was considered as the solution to the social conflict that was prevalent in the society and the antagonist resolution between men and nature, necessity and freedom. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in Salzburg, Austria in 1756. Before the age of four, he had exhibited such extraordinary powers of musical memory and ear sophistication that his father, Leopold, a highly esteemed violinist and composer in his own right, decided to give his son, Wolfgang, harpsichord lessons. From day one of his lessons, the boy s reputation as a fast learning, modern, talented musician grew fast. Mozart and the Archbishop constantly argued, and in 1781, Mozart said goodbye to the bishop and hello to Vienna, against his father s wishes. Now a grown man, Mozart thrived in Vienna. He was in great demand as a performer and composition teacher, and his first opera, The Abduction from the Seraglio, was a hit in Vienna. But life for him was not easy. He was a poor musician, and money was always tight, especially after his marriage to Constanze Weber. Political fighting at the Vienna court kept him from gaining patronage, and he descended to a life of poverty. His music from the next decade and it came at a very fast rate was only sporadically popular, and he eventually fell back on his teaching jobs and on the charity of friends to make ends meet. In 1788 he stopped performing in public, preferring to compose. But fortune never turned, and when he died in 1791 at the age of thirty five, he was buried in a pauper s grave. To say that Mozart was a composer of unsurpassed genius is scarcely scratching the surface of this man s remarkable gifts. He wrote music, complete and perfect, down to the last accent and inflection as fast as he could think, and this astonishing rate of production continues to stupefy scholars today. In

This conspiracy is that there was more than just one shooter and that there was a larger group group behind the event other than just Oswald himself. There are quite a few events that occured that make this theory that much more believable. The two things that happened that stand out to me the most are the murder of Oswald just two days after JFK s death and the fact that after audio analysis the HSCA concluded that there was a fourth gun shot. Oswald was arrested soon after killing JFK but two days later when He was being transferred from city jail to county jail he was shot at close range and killed by Jack Ruby. Abstract Cleopatra VII, the last reigning queen of Egypt, has intrigued us for centuries. Her story is one that has been told many times, and the many different and vastly varied representations of her and her story are solely based on the ways in which men and society have perceived women and their role in society throughout history. By looking at the perceptions of women starting from the Hellenes, the Greeks who greatly influenced Roman ideals, and following those perceptions through to the end of the 19th Century, it ... He continues with Roman propaganda retelling the great accomplishments of Roman forefathers and then stresses that the men who have achieved these feats of arms…would be cut to the heart if ever they knew that we have been overcome by this pestilence of a [woman]… (53). He verbally attacks the Egyptian culture and drives home his dislike of them and their barbarisms by saying worst of all, they are not ruled by a man, but are the slaves of a [woman] (53). In conclusion he writes: But, in the end, I cannot describe to you any greater prize that that of upholding the renown which your forefathers won, of preserving the proud tradition of your native lands, of punishing those who have rebelled against us, of conquering and ruling over all mankind, and [of allowing no woman to make herself equal to a man] (55). The dislike of women in positions of power and the absolute necessity to deprive them of this power can be seen in Dio s writing. Dio stresses Cleopatra s gender and makes it the supreme motivator for the ensuing war with Egypt by the marking the importance of conquering Cleopatra and removing her from her throne. Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse Overview of Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse Gathering requirements from end users was an important step in resolving the issues that currently exist at Canadian Tire. Gathering requirements for a data warehouse is not the same as defining the requirements for an operational system (Ponniah, pg. 121). When you research and then develop any system, it is critical that the system produces exactly what the users need to perform their specific tasks. CTC did not have this production for their end users. These users typically do not understand the big picture workings of a data warehousingprocess. Therefore, the help of a business analyst is critical. From the results provided in the case study, we can agree that these requirements must be addressed: Capacity constraints User query times Defined data model Full enabling of access to enterprise data Overview of Canadian Tire s Business Intelligence The current process for CTC to acquire BI is a broken system. Much of the information derived, from the current data in the warehouse, was done by FRAG, individual user groups and hired business analysts who extracted data and created reports. This was creating a serious misallocation of resources and responsibilities throughout the company. Shadow groups, created to complete some of the required BI tasks, were not only less efficient than an organized strategy, but were also a security risk to CTC. Organelles, such as chloroplasts and mitochondria, that are currently found in eukaryotic cells are theorized to have been separate bacteria before the evolutionary success of the eukaryotic cell. Such idea is proven through the endosymbiotic theory. This concept provides an evolutionary origin for the mitochondrion and chloroplast seen in organisms of today. This theory is held together by DNAevidence found within the organelles themselves. The mitochondrion alone contain its own genome enclosed in the form of circular DNA, as well as their own ribosomes and transfer RNA. Similarly, the chloroplasts have their own genome. The cell can now receive power generation within itself, while the mitochondria take shelter in the cell. Additionally, the chloroplast has similar originations; the photosynthetic bacteria were consumed then used in symbiosis to create food for the ancestral
