Essays On Jealousy
Writing an essay on the intricate subject of jealousy can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires
a delicate balance of research, analysis, and personal reflection. Jealousy is a complex emotion
that manifests in various forms, ranging from mild envy to intense resentment. Addressing this
topic necessitates a thorough exploration of psychological, sociological, and even literary
perspectives, adding layers of complexity to the writing process.
To begin, delving into the psychological roots of jealousy involves understanding its evolutionary
purpose, the impact it has on interpersonal relationships, and the intricate interplay between
nature and nurture in its development. Unraveling these intricate threads demands a nuanced
approach, where one must navigate through the vast body of research and theories on human
emotions.
Moreover, jealousy is deeply embedded in societal structures and cultural norms. Analyzing its
role in shaping human behavior within different contexts requires a comprehensive examination
of social dynamics, power structures, and the influence of external factors. The essay would
need to explore how jealousy contributes to competition, comparison, and the perpetuation of
societal norms.
From a literary standpoint, the theme of jealousy is a recurrent motif in various works of fiction,
drama, and poetry. The task involves not only discussing these artistic representations but also
dissecting the underlying messages and the ways in which they reflect or challenge societal
perceptions of envy.
Furthermore, weaving personal reflections into the essay can be a daunting task. Articulating
one's thoughts on such a visceral and emotionally charged topic requires a careful balance
between objectivity and subjectivity. Communicating personal experiences or insights while
maintaining an academic tone is a skill that demands finesse.
In conclusion, writing an essay on jealousy is a formidable challenge that demands a
multidimensional approach. Navigating through psychological, sociological, and literary
landscapes while infusing personal reflections requires a writer's mastery. However, with
dedication, careful research, and thoughtful analysis, one can illuminate the complexities of
jealousy in a compelling manner.

In The Sea There Are Crocodiles
In the book In The Sea, There Are Crocodiles by Fabio Geda there is a boy named
Enaiat. Enaiat is a ten year old boy who is emigrating from Afghanistan to Italy. He
shows how he can fend for himself and survive. Though he is ten years old he
shows that he is mature and brave, once his mother leaves him. His mother takes
him to the border and leaves him there to start his journey away from the Taliban in
Afghanistan. In the beginning of the story, he shows that he is mature when his
mother leaves him in Pakistan at a hotel place. He wakes up looking for his mom
and comes to realize that she is nowhere to be found. This shows that he has maturity
because after he finds out his mother is not there he does not scream and pout about it

Job, Ecclesiastes, And Proverbs
Wisdom in Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs Wisdom is a concept that most people
are interested in. As human beings, we want to learn how to receive wisdom, know
how it affects us, and what wisdom really is. Many people throughout the years have
pondered these questions and have come up with a variety of answers. However,
answers to these questions can also be seen in the Biblethrough books that are
defined as wisdom literature, or literature that gives thought to universal,
humanistic, and philosophical standpoints (Dell 1). We can especially see these
questions answered in unique ways through Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs. Job as a
whole address the why s of life, but when taking a look at a specific chapter of Job it

Animal And The Presentation Of Captivity
The panthers advocate, our observatory narrator, acts almost as a conduit. The title
gives implications of a third person narrative, yet Rilke channels the animals
emotional state also, affirming how He feels... .The speakers attempt to steal the
gaze of the restrained feline s misted vision, is convincing. Although misted, we are
given a clear insight, of the monotonous and bound lifestyle of the undomesticated
cat. We are informed that the panther is so powerless behind the bars, to the point
of belief that there is no freedom beyond them... Powerless to the point, that even
his strength has become paralysed. It is therefore apposite to examine the
characterisation of the animal and the presentation of captivity that we are
challenged by. The poem is permeated by literary techniques, standing as obvious
signposts planted by Rilke, which spell out captivity. We are lured by the very first
line, due to a confession that the panther can take in nothing more. The lack of
hope and signs of weakness, immediately pull the strings in our hearts, evoking a
reaction. This is formed by a very distinct device, the helpless tone used by Rilke, a
tone which longs for freedom and the reassuring of hope; Appearing also as a
persuasive plea; we hear there is nothing more as there is no more world . Rilke
therefore cries on behalf of the panther who cannot speak for himself. The heavy
accumulation of vision brings no surprise as to why imagery is arguably, the most
effective device
Community Reflection
It would be an understatement to say that I have been blessed to grow up in a
neighborhood where I knew nothing bad would happen to me. It would be an
understatement to say that I can go to bed knowing all the doors in the house are
locked and my house is secure. It would be not be false to say that these things are
given to me each day, but it would be an understatement to say I am thankful for each
thing. An error is falling down your stairs because you did not turn a light on, but a
mistake would be taking any of this security for granted. I know these things not
because of what I have achieved in my life, but a result of my fathers job. He
stands as the fire captain in Davenport, Iowa. Listening to some of the horror stories
from his job, has widened my perspective on not only life, but in the small minor
details surrounding everything. I can say I am more grateful for being able to have
the understanding of safety, that if ever in a bad situation, I would step in to take
risks and protect those around me. In today s society, crime is such a common thing
and often occurs within small communities. I remember reading and learning about
history and how communities would always be there to help one another. But today,
communityis such an overused word, and does not describe what one is at all. The
foundation of a community revolves around the people who risk their lives day in
and day out, to be there to protect us and get us out of harm s way.
The hardest times in life,
Individual Needs Assessment
To evaluate the level of training needed, we conducted one formal needs
assessment test focusing on both new and old employee differences. We decided to
administer a 10 question questionnaire to all of our employees instead of a personal
interview or other forms of survey. We administered this test within a week span
allowing enough time to collect data from all of our employees giving ample time
for individuals who were not scheduled certain days to also have the opportunity to
participate in the questionnaire. The test overall was designed to measure how new
and old individuals working for the recreation center felt about how adequately
trained they were when going about completing their daily job duties. The test results

very approachable, not being confident at all to being very confident. The chart
below shows that there is a visible difference on what both the old and new
employees felt about each of the questions asked. The chart showing that old
employees rated their feeling higher then new employees. The second chart shows
how each employee feels about their knowledge on emergy related situations that
could happen with the recreation center ranging from medical emergency, weather,

Summary Of Autumn Poem
That life flows on and the operation in the natural order continues is stressed here.
The fame of poppies that drowses the harvester and the twined flowers that offer a
resistance to the say the cause a brief pause in time. This eagerness to prolong the
moment of happiness the ode stanza, extended to eleven lines, is give en a more
prolonged effect and is also shared by autumnwho watches the last oozing hours by
hours she is in time and bears the full load of agony inherent in process, but she is
also above time watching the ceaseless and yet unhurried movement on the
temporal plane. The first stanza is set in the morning hours, the second stanza is
set in the drowsy midday and the sun s diurnal course is completed in the final
stanza. The last two lines of second stanza convey the audible juicy noise of the
sibilants which is very strong one and is presented not simply with a visual image
of the last oozing, but an audible one also. At the same when this celebration of
joys of autumn is taking place, we find in the ode indirect images of ageing. The
sun is maturing it is growing older, and so is autumn itself, as in the close bosom
friend of sun only. There is an ambivalent note in the phase set budding more and
still more apparent in the phrase, reference to the bees until they think warm days
will never cease. For summer has over brimmid their clammy cells . The last verse
moves to a different kind of conclusion and it arises more organically from the
Martha Washington Women Catherine Allgors Analysis
In their edited volume of essays, Jeffrey Pasley, David Waldstreicher, and Andrew
Robertson believe that it is necessary for the history of the American Revolution and
creation of the United States to go Beyond the Founders. By going beyond the
founders, these editors suggest a more in depth and inclusive account of history, and
in Catherine Allgors Parlor Politics, such an account of history is conveyed through
the portrayal of women. During this period, women were presented with a definitive
measure of power. Washington women both well known and not appear as political
actors in their own right, using social events and the private sphere to establish the
national capital and to build the extra official structures so sorely needed in the infant
federal government. By utilizing such power, women were presented with the
immense role of shaping our very future inside and out. Catherine Allgor then turns to
two prominent women (Martha Washington and Dolley Madison) to illustrate her
point on the importance of women in strengthening the American political and social
infrastructure. Washington s levees gave women a way to demonstrate their public
power. Martha Custis Washington instituted her own levees...mixed the sexes, and
there were always many ladies present. Though these events also contained elements
of ceremony,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through the combination of regional traditions, works of previous First Ladies as
well as utilizing European templates, she created a national etiquette and social style
suitable for a seat of government, one that could display power, enhance the status of
the rulers, and facilitate the process of building a capital, a government structure, and
a nation. This presents a significant example as to how women were capable of
shaping the rhetoric and structure of the American political culture as well as
governmental
Essay on Beowulf is a Christian Poem
The epic poem Beowulf, was written sometime in the eighth century by an
unknown author. It was based on legend passed down over time. Prior to the time
the poem was written, Anglo Saxons had converted from Germanic Paganism to
Christianity. Some people argue that it was a Pagan poem rewritten by a person or
persons educated in Christianity. has come down from heathen times and acquired
its Christian character gradually and piecemeal from a succession of minstrels. (
Hector Monro Chadwick as quoted by Brodeur 182), while others believed that
Christianity and Paganism both belonged in the poem. almost without exception so
deeply ingrained in the very fabric of the poem that they cannot be explained away as

The poet used Christianity and paganism as a tool for his poem. It is through such
a blending that there was available to a poet who set out to write a poem,.... on a
scale and plan unlike a minstrel s lay, both new faith and new learning (or
education), and also a body of native tradition (itself requiring to be learned) for the
changed mind to contemplate together. The native learning cannot be denied in the
case of Beowulf. (Tolkien 26). The character Beowulf embodied the Pagan heroic
code (comitatus), but he also exhibited Christian values. Overall, he was a warrior
and a hero who sought fame and reputation. Most of his actions were motivated by
his desire to be remembered after his death as a courageous and loyal warrior.
When Beowulf hears about Hrothgar s trouble he goes to help him. He wants to
help him for a few reasons, all of which relate to the comitatus. He wants to acquire
fame and he wants lifelong honor. By beating Grendel he would receive honor and
his reputation would be enhanced. Also, Beowulf wants to repay Hrothgar for
settling a feud for his father years before. Beowulf is willing to do battle for the old
king even though it means that he could die. When Boewulf faces off against Grendel
s mother, and later when he fights the dragon it is revenge that he is after. The Pagan
and the Christian elements that combine in the person of Beowulf complement,
rather than oppose, one another. Beowulf s
The Importance Of A Training Program For An Obstacle
Race
If you re thinking about your first obstacle race like the Tough Mudder or the
Spartan Race, you know it ll involve a unique training program. Even if you re a fit
athlete, you need to prepare yourself for the challenges, which are unlike other types
of races.
First, think about the kind of race you ll be doing. There will be mud, cold water as
well as chances for climbing, crawling and jumping. It s a strain on the body and the
mind. It ll test your endurance and your mental fortitude. Most of those reasons are
why people want to participate in an obstacle race, but that means it takes a different
kind of workout routine and training in the weeks before the race. You can t expect to
jump into the course and complete it because you ve been running regular races.
The most fit athlete should still allow 4 to 6 weeks of training before jumping into
their first obstacle course race.
Endurance Building
Whether you re a runner or not, you should be building up your endurance before
the race. Instead of running a few miles each day on a treadmill, you ll need to
challenge yourself to uneven terrain. It ll create a fatigue, which you won t
experience on a treadmill. Your aerobic endurance will be tested during the race. It
might seem like it ll be less work because you ll be running between obstacles, but it s
combined with other tasks, so it can still be a few miles of race.
Example Exercises: Non stop intervals on the treadmill Take the hill work
Essay About Obama Failure
Successes and Failures of the Obama Presidency Leaders are often credited with
the success of the country under their administration, as well as blamed for failures
during their time in power. To say that the successes and failures of the Obama
administration are solely a reflection of him and his decisions alone would make
little sense. There are several different factors that could hinder him from making
decisions, or aid him in making decisions and getting policies passed. The
environment as well as his opponent in 2012, Mitt Romney, are two factors that have
impacted outcomes for the President in the past. A leader will struggle more in a
hostile environment, and if the opposition is strong, failure is also a distinct
possiblity. His... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The American people were displeased with the way that his first term had unfolded,
and they were unhappy that the promises the President made to the country were
not kept. Romney was a fresh face, who had a lengthy political background, and
who, according to the Washington Post, would have won the election, had it just
been held a little later. According to the Post, the hypothetical eight point shift in
the popular vote that Romney had acquired according to poll of registered voters
would have allowed him to win the election by virtually the same margin that
Obama had actually won by (Blake 1). Obama s failure to deliver on his promises
caused a handful, about 1 in 5, of his previous supporters to put their trust in
Romney instead of him, and this newfound trust in his opponent planted the seed of
doubt in the public s mind about the President s abilities to deliver on his previous
claims that he had made to get elected (What if Mitt Romney had Won?). However,
Romney has also been a positive attribute in Obama s presidency. Obamacare was
closely modeled, ironically, after Mitt Romney s healthcare plan that he enacted
whilst Governor of Massachusetts (The Choice 2012). Even as an opponent, Romney
helped to benefit Obama s terms as President, in ways that he may not have even
Makeup Men Stereotypes
After discussing for a while over what kind of product we could endorse in our
advertisement, we decided to try to tackle the stereotype that makeup on men is
unacceptable, striving for a witty and humorous approach when planning and
filming the video. Our video was about a young man who wanted to be more
manly. In a way, some viewers could possibly relate to this, so our target audience
was all the people who, like Bridie, want to use basic makeup products, like skin
perfector, concealer, eyeshadow, and lip gloss, while still looking manly af.

in much the same way that women s makeup defines or enhances features that are
normally stereotyped as feminine. In short, we used the male stereotypes in our
favour to create a product which was originally supposed to break a stereotype more
appealing to our target audience.
Considering our group was made up of only girls, we needed some way of
incorporating a manly man into the video. Our solution was to pick one of us to
become the manliest of men. For this task, we chose none other than the amazing
Bridie. Of course, we couldn t only include Bridie in the video. And we needed some
other talented actors to accompany her, and make the advertisement even more
persuasive. Jaimie took on the role of the pretty girl, who wore lots of makeup, and
Courtney became the very confident and convincing presenter of manly man makeup.
To find a suitable outfit for Man Bridie, we observed the habits of the modern
manly man and created the perfect ensemble for our primary character. The outfits
of the other characters were then much simpler to assemble. Jaimie wore a dress that
made her look feminine, and lots of makeup (as Bridie pointed out in the ad).
Courtney wore a bright dress so that she stood
The Importance of Good Character Essay
Why is character important? Why is it important to be a person of good morals,
ethics, and character? Can that make you more productive in life, family, school,
business, work, etc. ? Well, good moral, ethics, and character has NEVER hurt
anyone. President Abraham Lincoln once said, Reputation is the shadow. Character
is the tree. To many, this quote means that Character is like a tree which bears the
shadow of their reputation whether it be good or bad. I have no regrets in my life. I
think that everything happens to you for a reason. The hard times that you go

Good character/characteristics also show leadership and value. Not only to the
people around you, but to the marketplace (where you work). Let s put this into
perspective. IF..... you were the employer or manager of a company: the person in
charge of hiring and firing, which person would you hire? Person 1 or Person 2 ?
Person 1: Well, I went to this school, and I have this degree, and I know that when
you hire me I ll make the MOST for this company. You have never seen anyone like
me. You should be glad that I m even here in your office today. So... are you gonna
take me, or leave me? Person 2: Well Mr./Mrs. _________, I m so honored to be
here today. I m grateful that you took the time to interview me. I might not have all
the credentials for this position with your company, but I am willing to learn
whatever you teach me. If you teach me, I ll do my very best at my job, and will
work at doing it to the best of my ability. Now that your thinking about these two
different people (that your considering to hire) which one would you choose?
Person 1 or Person 2 ? Well, the majority of us would choose Person 2. Why??
Because Person 2 shows that they are humble, teachable, and grateful. We wouldn t
hire Person 1 because they appeared as arrogant, stuck up , and maybe even pushy.
My point is simply this. Not just your mannerism, but your character can be seen

Introduction
Sioux Falls, SD is one of McBride s locations. McBride Financial Services utilizes
sensitive equipment and toxic chemicals during its manufacturing process. These
high end and dangerous items place the location at risk. Some of the threats include:
use of toxic chemicals, public transportation, crime, and acts of terrorism. It is
McBride s responsibility to mitigate these threats.

Although there is no actual risk to the Sioux Falls headquarters from the bus terminal
itself, a bus stop is to be found a few yards from the headquarters. For the reason that
the bus stop is very near the office, the likely risk of a bus collision is there, as also
the hazard of a bomb exploding and/or terrorism. To lessen the dangers, a
recommendation that every office window be installed with security glass, protective
bars installed to every external window frame, and a steel protection entry screen be
attached to the front entryway with a remote controlled security device.
Railroad Terminals. With a railway station within walking distance to McBride
Financial Services, precautions must be made to mitigate derailing of train cars.
Railway cars contain a great deal of mass. When you combine that with velocity, you
obtain force. A runaway rail car could obtain enough force to destroy sections of
McBride Financial Services. With that in mind, it is essential that McBride invest in
precautionary measures. This could include crafting railway dunes to prevent railway
cars from colliding with McBride s structures.
Crime
In any city or town there is always criminal activity present (Albanese, 2003). Sioux
Falls is no exception. For that reason, McBride must have protection on its own
from every kind of crime that could go on. This is to include deliberate actions taken
towards McBride s properties and actions taken

How Napoleon Maintains Control in France 1799 1814
After the long period of instability in France, Napoleon seemed to acknowledge the
importance of maintaining his power, influence and control over France and the
French people. Napoleon was very able in this regard as it is important to make the
people to support you and to limit opposition, something that Napoleon and Hitler
shared in common. Napoleon maintained his power in many different ways,
rewarding people that supported him, repressing people who didn t, censoring

The next way that Napoleon maintained his control was through Repression, to limit
any opposition to his regime. Napoleon created Code Napoleon to bring uniformity
of the law to all of France. This Code was illiberal, restrictive, authoritarian and
brought order. Napoleon then banned trade unions and introduced The Livret . He
also introduced harsher Criminal and Penal codes with new courts, tribunals for
political offenders, arbitrary imprisonment without trial and house arrest. All these
changes gave Napoleon perfect power to remove any opposition, as he had
influence of appointment of judges and the Supreme Court. Napoleon also used the
police, which monitored public opinion, used a network of spies and informants.
Napoleon also had his own secret police so that he had supreme power to remove
anyone at all that stood against him. Napoleon also appointed Prefects for each
department which was important as it made a connection between local and central
government and Napoleon made the prefects responsible for propaganda, education
and conscription within each region, so Napoleon could make sure that he kept his
support through out France. This repression was important as Napoleon could
prevent any opposition from developing which may threaten his regime, as many
normal people wont do anything if there is no organised opposition to turn

Discrimination In The LGBT Community
We as people are able to express who we are not only in the inside but on the outside.
In the LGBT community, they constantly spread their awareness for what they feel in
their hearts is right. There are many judgmental opinions that are brought up about
this topic but the people that unite to stand up for what they believe in think
differently. In our society today, this controversial topic is argued about because
everyone has a distinct viewpoint for what they believe is right. The association of
the LGBTcommunity is brought to attention to the world due to the discrimination
they experience, the various rights they are entitled to, and the emotional strain that
is put into this awareness.
According to the LGBT society, the world can be very cruel with accepting how
people choose to label themselves. The meaning LGBT stands for lesbians, gays,
bisexuals, and transgenders because it is not just an association of gay people, it
serves a purpose to all who have changed their status to what they choose. The
backlash that is thrown among the community around the country effects each life so
negatively. In some cases the LGBT people have to belittle themselves so they are
not judged. Discrimination also routinely affects LGBT people beyond the
workplace, sometimes costing them their homes, access to education, and even the
ability to engage in public life (Singh and Durso 1). There are some people that
change how they dress and shift their overall presentation so they don t
Edward Snowden Leaks
Most people would feel betrayed. Recently, a situation similar to this happened
except that it was on a much larger scale. Edward Snowden was a technical
contractor for the NSA and the CIA. He recently released personal information
about millions of people in order to prove that the US Government is recording the
communications of its citizens. This traitor violated the trust the CIA, NSA, and
his bosses had in him to keep this information a secret. In addition, he also put the
safety of the U.S. citizens in danger. Snowden was supposed to keep secrets as a
technical contractor at the CIA and the NSA. As an employee he was obligated to

The exposure of the PRISM program under which the NSA monitors foreign
terrorists on the Internet, as well as the leak of a top secret court order requiring
Verizon to share calling data with the government, are incredibly damaging to
national security. These leaks give terrorists information they did not have about
our collection activities, columnist Marc Theissen of the Washington Post said.
What this means is that Edward Snowden spread vital information about the U.S.

What Are The Rhetorical Devices Used By Elie Wiesel...
The last rhetorical device that Elie Wiesel uses to make his essay compelling is
antithesis. Antithesis is when two contrasting ideas are purposely juxtaposed to
create balance and to accentuate the contrast. The first example of Elie Wiesel
using antithesis is when he states, Would this terrible act drive us apart, I asked
myself, or draw us together as a nation?(Wiesel 2) In this passage Elie states a
question if the terrorist attacks will bring American citizens together or apart. The
two contrasting ideas that Elie includes are apart and together. By using antithesis,
Elie is able to show his audience that there are two ways that this attack can affect us.
By using antithesis he states the two ways. This creates balance because it gives
Changes And Continuity Of Contemporary Bolivia
Change and Continuity in Contemporary Bolivia
Diversity of Capitalism and Economy, Emergence of Plurinational
Self Government, Patterns of Cultural Change and Continuity, and Consensual
Community Organization
The events that took place before and after Western involvement have led to modern
day Bolivia and help explain the implications for how Bolivia has changed and stayed
the same under the Morales administration, which implemented the new constitution
in 2009. After the constitution was ratified, some legislation quickly followed suit,
including the electoral system, a law of autonomies, and a law establishing the
parameters of communitarian justice in indigenous areas (Crabtree and Chaplin
2013:25).
Regarding the economical standpoint, while the average income has soared, the
Morales administration has not been able to radically change the economy; rather it
has followed a neo extractivist model due to the lingering reliance on gas and other
resources. Although this means a larger role for the state, it also means that Bolivia is
even more dependent on its natural resources (Farthing and Kohl 2014:79). With so
much of the country s earnings coming from natural resources, this puts a strain on a
left wing country that is trying to move away from such capitalist influences. An
example of how this distribution of money manifests is that urban problems, such as
the building of new roads and schools, are often given more attention than rural issues

The Article Is Titled “Communication Modality
Sampling
The article is titled Communication Modality Sampling for a Toddler with Angelman
Syndrome by Jolene Hyppa Martin, Joe Reichle, Adele Dimian, and Mo Chen. The
authors explored three modes of communication, vocal, gestural, and graphic, with a
young child with Angelman syndrome. The researchers investigated which modeof
communicationwould be the most effective and efficient for the child.
Angelman syndrome can cause cognitive, communication, and physical disabilities. It
is a disorder that affects around 1 in 10,000 births and for the majority of the cases,
the cause is genetic. Angelman syndrome can be caused by an abnormality in
chromosome 15. Previous research on Angelman syndrome and the different
communication modes is lacking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This symbol is taught in gestural, graphic, and vocal mode. The modality sampling
has many advantages, one of the most important being that it provides important
intervention resources.
The main purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of graphic and gestural
modes of communication with a toddler with Angelman syndrome (Martin, Reichle,
Dimian, Chen, 2013). The participant was Adam, a 21 month old male with
Angelman syndrome. Before the study started, Adam was assessed in
communication, cognition, and fine and gross motor skills. Adam did not engage in
vocal imitation or turn taking. His mother reported that Adam would sometimes
vocalize to get her attention, he would also protest, request, and express excitement.
Adam s fine motor skills were delayed, but he had adequate movements to produce
gestures for the study.
Before the sessions started, the three researchers went through a role play training.
This was done to increase reliability and interobserver agreement between the
researchers. The 44 sessions occurred at the participant s house or at his day care
center. The first session was a baseline probe and the rest of the sessions were
divided into five phases. The sessions were held two times per week for five months.
The materials for the study included three objects or activities that Adam liked or

Water is fundamental to all forms of life on Earth, this goes the same for early
civilizations that emerged around 5,000 years ago that developed close to rivers.
Among these civilizations are Ancient Egypt and Ancient China who have left a great
impacts in our history. These two civilizations have many similarities and differences
in things like culture, social structure and their state (political). Ancient Egypt and
Ancient China had similarities and differences with regard to culture. The Ancient
Chinese didn t have a great amount of interest in religion like the Ancient Egyptians
did. The Ancient Chinese believed in tian which translates to heaven. They believed
that it was responsible for picking and removing their rulers, also known as the

Unlike the Chinese, the Egyptians were polytheistic and believed that it was
important to worship the gods; it was a responsibility to do so. They had gods such
as Amon, Re, and Osiris and each of these gods had a different role such as Amon
giving fertility to crops and Osiris who judged whether a person had the right to gain
immortality or not. The Egyptians also had priests and temples that they had for the
gods. Clearly the Chinese and the Egyptians had different views in religion. The
Chinese and the Egyptians both had valuable items buried along with them in their
tombs. The Egyptians believed that when someone died, they went into another
dimension of existence which is the reason why they mummified the dead, built
pyramids for their rulers, and had slaves, food, clothes and other items buried with
them; it was to accompany them and aid in the afterlife. The Ancient Chinese also

Who Is Coriolanus
Coriolanus is a viper that would depopulate the city and be every man himself .
This will be argued in reference to Coriolanus as a whole. When the play opens,
the audience witnesses Coriolanus, or Caius Martius, as he was known before
Corioles, being very dismissive to the people of Rome. He goes so far as to insult
the Plebians the moment he steps into the scene calling them rogues and says that
they must make themselves scabs . One can definitely see that he is not very
pleasant to anyone. Coriolanus admits that it would be better to hang em than to
fulfil the Plebians wishes for more grain. When Coriolanus is leading his men in
the battle in Corioles he insults them instead of inspiring them. He threatens the
soldiers saying if they retreat he will take him for a Volsce and those soldiers will feel
mine edge . One can see that he would be every man himself instead of trying to...

He will not entreat them with his wounds sake and he will not humiliate himself in
front of people he finds inferior. One can see that he is not one that will do things

he loses his temper and lashes out calling the Tribunes a wretch . He will shake thy
bones meaning Sicinius and Brutus, out from their garments in retaliation for
accusing him of being a traitor. One can see that he will be every man himself
rather than face a trial. Coriolanus s anger at the people who banished him and
ultimately Rome, set him on a path of destruction. Coriolanus acknowledges that my
birthplace hate I and that he would fight against his cankered country and see it

The Narrative Of The Life Of Frederick Douglas
Frederick Douglas was born around 1817 in Tuckahoe Maryland. His mother is a

Gothic Doubling In Assassin s Creed
Gothic Doubling in Assassin s Creed: How Altair Represents the Hopes and Fears
of Ezio Today, I have more questions than answers. This is why I have come so far:
to find clarity (Ubisoft 1:38 1:48). Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, main
protagonist of Ubisoft s 2011 video game Assassin s Creed: Revelations, yearns for
the wisdom supposedly left behind at Masyaf Castle by the revolutionary Assassin
Mentor, Altair Ibn La Ahad. Ezio desires Altair s knowledge and wisdom to learn
more about his Brotherhood s history, goals, struggles, and more specifically, his
own purpose. In the extended official E3 trailer for Assassin s Creed: Revelations,
Altair appears to Ezio during a battle at Masyaf. Altair has been dead for centuries,...

The trailer opens to Ezio being held captive at the snowy castle of Masyaf by the
Templar Knights. Ezio is an experienced assassin who achieved the title of Master
by reaching the peak of his training. The trailer flashes back to his journey to
Masyaf to demonstrate Ezio s resilience while displaying his struggles, traveling
through deserts and sailing through seas, to reach his destination. Ezio mentions in
his narration that his goal is to locate a hidden library, A center full of invaluable
wisdom. Ezio is in pursuit of the knowledge that his predecessor, Altair, left
behind. This common Gothic element is discussed by Professor Ewan Kirkland
from the University of Brighton in his paper on Gothic videogames: John Fletcher
s discussion of female Gothic cinema opens with the claim: The search for origins,
especially when it takes the form of reconstructing a hidden or forbidden scene is
one of the most seductive of all narratives (112). This seductive narrative is parallel
to Ezio s journey as he is searching for a hidden library which contains knowledge
and wisdom from his order s past. In this fictional universe, The Assassins have been
at war with the Templar Order for most of known human history. The Templars
contrast the ideals of freedom held by the Assassins. The Templars wish to create a
perfect world through the order and control of weaker individuals.

Is it necessary to remove a child from their home? A recent policy was implemented
by Anytown s Department of Job and Family Services regarding the issue of child
endangerment. Any household that has one or more documented offense of domestic
violence, child abuse, or drug or alcohol related offenses committed by the mother,

Furthermore, the impact falls mainly on the child himself; whether it be positive and
/or negative, on those involved in the above situation. A family violencereport which
recently came out stated that Family violence, including child physical and sexual
abuse, child neglect and maltreatment, intimate partner violence, and elder abuse,
takes place in homes across the country every day. Exposure to such violence has a
devastating impact on both children and adults in those households and
communities, whether they are direct victims of abuse or witnesses to it. Children
exposed to such violence at an early age are likely to become either perpetrators of
abuse or victims of violence in adulthood (Family Violence, 2010). Prior to this
report the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), a detailed report which is
comprised of gathered data about crimes using an ongoing, nationally representative
sample of households in the United States, found that between 1993 and 1998, the
average number of victims of intimate partner violence who lived with children under
the age of 12 was 459,590 (Rennison amp; Welchans, 2000). The research at hand is
astounding. Many are exposing the child to certain situations which are not

The Inauthenticity in Credentialing
One of the biggest worries in a high school senior s mind is whether or not they will
be accepted into the program of their first choice. It has become hardly a choice in
whether a high school graduate will continue in postsecondary studies because just to
be considered for a job, the credentials that come after a name is crucial. In Jane
Jacobs Credentialing Versus Educating, she argues that since the Great Depression,
obtaining a degree has become gradually more important, not to gain an education,
but to acquire its credentials that employers look for before hiring. More people are

People today, myself included, have accepted this criterion and consequently, from
the start of their child s high school career, parents will continuously stress the
importance of achieving high grades in their classes so that they will be accepted
into a good university. In high schools, I always heard my fellow classmates
talking about their hopes of attending law school or med school in the future. In
reality, it is likely that those may not be their actual hopes and dreams, but what
they really want is a job with a good pay. In one paragraph, Jacobs recalls how her
father was employed as a doctor and because of this, during the Great Depression,
he was still able to get by despite the mass unemployment (54). Children are
pressured to do well and earn promising credentials to ensure they are hired in
admirable, steady positions in the future and have a decent income salary, such as
Jacob s father. It has become more and more frequent for students in high school to
take a challenging course in a private institution, like many of my friends did, so
they can obtain a higher grade to meet requirements for a university programs that
they, in truth, have no desire to study in. Thus, some programs, such as business,
have a great deal of applicants each year and many of those who are accepted and

When she heard Dee s request, she slammed the door and stormed out of the
kitchen. This shows that Dee s arrogance left a negative influence on Maggie s
personality. It s almost like Dee is trying to take away any happiness life throws
out at Maggie. Although Maggie was deformed and neglected, it should not
mitigate her need for joy in her life. Alice Walker juxtaposes Maggie with her
sister, Dee, to demonstrate how society denigrates not only African American
women but women in general in the 1970s. Early on in the story, Maggie is
described as nervous, hopelessly standing in the corner. Later she is described as
nearly hidden from view. On a metaphorical level, Maggie is the symbol of the lack
of power women held in the 1970s. She is the epitome of the silent female
homemaker. On the other hand, Dee is assertive, will look you right in the eye.
She serves as a symbol of the free, successful modern woman. However, her
assertiveness might come off as cockiness, and too much pride. By contrasting
Maggie and Dee, Alice Walker is expressing both sides of the female role during
that time. All in all, Maggie is a very distinctive character. Her house burning to the
ground, her arrogant sister, and the effect society has on her explains that. Alice
Walker has a very interesting way of putting together two opposites to make one of
their personalities very clear; Maggie s persona would be

story follows the lives of two black female friends who present differing views on
evil. On one hand, we have society s conventional view of evil represented by the
character of Nel and also seen in the Bottom s disapproval of Sula. The other view of
evilis seen through the character of Sula and through her actions, which conflict with
traditional society. The friendship of Sula and Nel is how the author conveys her

Absorbed in this conception of evil her whole life, it is Nel who becomes the
embodiment of the town s moral code when she gets married and is one of them
(120), meaning a member of mainstream society. Instantly, her views become the
same with those of the town and she belonged to the town and all of its ways (120).
She is especially offended by Sula s behavior, because Sula sleeps with her husband.
While Nel has used the town s moral code, Sula is in open defiance of it, and Sula is
caught off guard by Nel s possessiveness (119), not really knowing that marriage...had
changed all that (119), referring to their earlier tendency to share the affection of
other people (119). Nel s outrage at Sula s actions is similar to the town s anger at
Sula and we see the personal hurt that Sula s inconsiderate actions have caused.
While society s view of evil is really based on the disapproval of anything that would
break down way society works, Sula s view of evil is based on a different goal and
she acts according to a different set of standards. In other words, Sula was distinctly
different (118). Sula had been looking all along for a friend (122) and that is the goal
she is really trying to reach. In sleeping with many men, she is sort of looking for a

Expressions Of Grief, Loss And Mourning Essay
Elizabeth Correll November 29, 2016 ENGL 227 Professor Tessone Expressions of
Grief, Loss and Mourning in Romantic Poetry In A Philosophical Enquiry into the
Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful Edmund Burke writes, It is the
nature of grief to keep its object perpetually in its eye, to present it in its most
pleasurable views, to repeat all the circumstances that attend to it . Burke s writing
attempts to clarify the pictorial, literary, cultural, economic and psychological
phenomenon of sublimity, explicating the ways in which power, vastness, obscurity
and beauty intersect to form emotional response. A Philosophical Enquiry elucidates
why so many Romantic poets and writers would make grief, mourning and death the
subjects of their works; the limitless, obscure, infinite theme death corresponds to the
existential, contemplative and introspective ideas Romantic writers were attempting
to interrogate. Death is unknown and thusly, by Burke s definition, sublime. But the
subject of death in Romantic literature transcends the topic of corporeal death and
explores the death of memory, of youth, of innocence and of the past. Death becomes
something that can encompass multiple forms and occur in different ways, and the
exploration of this coincides with the existential, philosophical preoccupations of the
time. Furthermore, the Romantic writers were grappling with a shifting, changing
society that caused a sense of pervasive loss in their works; as artists,

Benefits of Congestion Charge in Tokyo
Since the 1940s, motorization has increased rapidly around the world, particularly

In 1997, likewise, Japan organised the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change. The treaty (United Nations, 1998)
indicates:
It was to establish a legally binding international agreement, whereby all the
participating nations commit themselves to tackling the issue of global warming and
greenhouse gas emissions.
Although Japan s target was a reduction of 6% from 1990 levels by the year 2012, it
might be difficult to achieve the objective, but the definite charging plan might
inspire Japan to approach the aim effectively.
A heated debate about the influence on car businesses has become another
argument against the use of congestion charge. It has been contended that car
consumption would experience a sharp decrease owing to the new device
(Environment of Tokyo, 2010). It has been also claimed that the automobile
industry, which has been protected by the Japanese government since World War II
and taken the major role in the economy (University of Tokyo, 2004), would lose
the power and might be difficult to compete with foreign companies. On the
positive side, it has been asserted that the changes could be a large number of

such as electric cars and hybrid ones, could be developed (Nakamura,2010). These

The Compromise Of Food In Louisiana
People in Houston were told to evacuate their homes and to leave everything
behind, due to the hurricane, but they couldn t leave everything so they
compromised and only brought with them the things that were an absolute
necessity. Not a lot of people are able to compromise so easily. For some people this
is a hard subject to grasp. Food is a major thingto in society today that not many
people can agree on. Food is such a huge part of our everyday lives, but when two
people are asked what they want to eat it seems that no one can come to an
agreement. Food, however, is, something beautiful to be shared with people
(M.F.K. Fisher), not something to cause problems and arguments when a decision
about the food can t be made. More often than not it s really hard to compromise,
but when it s for the greater good and taking in account people other than yourself,
there s a certain satisfaction earned. In order to be considered a well rounded person
in society, it is inevitable that one has the ability to compromise. I had to experience
compromise first hand in the humid, swampy, hot, seafood loving, Louisiana. Four
regions of south Louisiana were settled by the Cajuns. (Ducote). So it s probably
pretty safe to say that Louisiana houses some pretty good, traditional Cajunfood. This
experience has helped me to realize my place in our culture when in comes to being
a cordial, agreeable person.

Essays On Jealousy. Othello Jealousy Essay Works Poetry

  • 1. Essays On Jealousy Writing an essay on the intricate subject of jealousy can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a delicate balance of research, analysis, and personal reflection. Jealousy is a complex emotion that manifests in various forms, ranging from mild envy to intense resentment. Addressing this topic necessitates a thorough exploration of psychological, sociological, and even literary perspectives, adding layers of complexity to the writing process. To begin, delving into the psychological roots of jealousy involves understanding its evolutionary purpose, the impact it has on interpersonal relationships, and the intricate interplay between nature and nurture in its development. Unraveling these intricate threads demands a nuanced approach, where one must navigate through the vast body of research and theories on human emotions. Moreover, jealousy is deeply embedded in societal structures and cultural norms. Analyzing its role in shaping human behavior within different contexts requires a comprehensive examination of social dynamics, power structures, and the influence of external factors. The essay would need to explore how jealousy contributes to competition, comparison, and the perpetuation of societal norms. From a literary standpoint, the theme of jealousy is a recurrent motif in various works of fiction, drama, and poetry. The task involves not only discussing these artistic representations but also dissecting the underlying messages and the ways in which they reflect or challenge societal perceptions of envy. Furthermore, weaving personal reflections into the essay can be a daunting task. Articulating one's thoughts on such a visceral and emotionally charged topic requires a careful balance between objectivity and subjectivity. Communicating personal experiences or insights while maintaining an academic tone is a skill that demands finesse. In conclusion, writing an essay on jealousy is a formidable challenge that demands a multidimensional approach. Enaiat is a ten year old boy who is emigrating from Afghanistan to Italy. He shows how he can fend for himself and survive. Though he is ten years old he shows that he is mature and brave, once his mother leaves him. His mother takes him to the border and leaves him there to start his journey away from the Taliban in Afghanistan. In the beginning of the story, he shows that he is mature when his mother leaves him in Pakistan at a hotel place. He wakes up looking for his mom and comes to realize that she is nowhere to be found. This shows that he has maturity because after he finds out his mother is not there he does not scream and pout about it he just

As human beings, we want to learn how to receive wisdom, know how it affects us, and what wisdom really is. Many people throughout the years have pondered these questions and have come up with a variety of answers. However, answers to these questions can also be seen in the Biblethrough books that are defined as wisdom literature, or literature that gives thought to universal, humanistic, and philosophical standpoints (Dell 1). We can especially see these questions answered in unique ways through Job, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs. Job as a whole address the why s of life, but when taking a look at a specific chapter of Job it can be seen
  • 4. Animal And The Presentation Of Captivity The panthers advocate, our observatory narrator, acts almost as a conduit. The title gives implications of a third person narrative, yet Rilke channels the animals emotional state also, affirming how He feels... .The speakers attempt to steal the gaze of the restrained feline s misted vision, is convincing. Although misted, we are given a clear insight, of the monotonous and bound lifestyle of the undomesticated cat. We are informed that the panther is so powerless behind the bars, to the point of belief that there is no freedom beyond them... Powerless to the point, that even his strength has become paralysed. It is therefore apposite to examine the characterisation of the animal and the presentation of captivity that we are challenged by. The poem is permeated by literary techniques, standing as obvious signposts planted by Rilke, which spell out captivity. We are lured by the very first line, due to a confession that the panther can take in nothing more. The lack of hope and signs of weakness, immediately pull the strings in our hearts, evoking a reaction. This is formed by a very distinct device, the helpless tone used by Rilke, a tone which longs for freedom and the reassuring of hope; Appearing also as a persuasive plea; we hear there is nothing more as there is no more world . Rilke therefore cries on behalf of the panther who cannot speak for himself. The heavy accumulation of vision brings no surprise as to why imagery is arguably, the most effective device

It would be an understatement to say that I can go to bed knowing all the doors in the house are locked and my house is secure. It would be not be false to say that these things are given to me each day, but it would be an understatement to say I am thankful for each thing. An error is falling down your stairs because you did not turn a light on, but a mistake would be taking any of this security for granted. I know these things not because of what I have achieved in my life, but a result of my fathers job. He stands as the fire captain in Davenport, Iowa. Listening to some of the horror stories from his job, has widened my perspective on not only life, but in the small minor details surrounding everything. I can say I am more grateful for being able to have the understanding of safety, that if ever in a bad situation, I would step in to take risks and protect those around me. In today s society, crime is such a common thing and often occurs within small communities. I remember reading and learning about history and how communities would always be there to help one another. But today, communityis such an overused word, and does not describe what one is at all. The foundation of a community revolves around the people who risk their lives day in and day out, to be there to protect us and get us out of harm s way. The hardest times in life,

Martha Washington Women Catherine Allgors Analysis In their edited volume of essays, Jeffrey Pasley, David Waldstreicher, and Andrew Robertson believe that it is necessary for the history of the American Revolution and creation of the United States to go Beyond the Founders. By going beyond the founders, these editors suggest a more in depth and inclusive account of history, and in Catherine Allgors Parlor Politics, such an account of history is conveyed through the portrayal of women. During this period, women were presented with a definitive measure of power. Washington women both well known and not appear as political actors in their own right, using social events and the private sphere to establish the national capital and to build the extra official structures so sorely needed in the infant federal government. By utilizing such power, women were presented with the immense role of shaping our very future inside and out. Catherine Allgor then turns to two prominent women (Martha Washington and Dolley Madison) to illustrate her point on the importance of women in strengthening the American political and social infrastructure. Washington s levees gave women a way to demonstrate their public power. Martha Custis Washington instituted her own levees...mixed the sexes, and there were always many ladies present. Overall, he was a warrior and a hero who sought fame and reputation. Most of his actions were motivated by his desire to be remembered after his death as a courageous and loyal warrior. When Beowulf hears about Hrothgar s trouble he goes to help him. He wants to help him for a few reasons, all of which relate to the comitatus. He wants to acquire fame and he wants lifelong honor. There will be mud, cold water as well as chances for climbing, crawling and jumping. It s a strain on the body and the mind. It ll test your endurance and your mental fortitude. Most of those reasons are why people want to participate in an obstacle race, but that means it takes a different kind of workout routine and training in the weeks before the race. The most fit athlete should still allow 4 to 6 weeks of training before jumping into their first obstacle course race. Endurance Building Whether you re a runner or not, you should be building up your endurance before the race. Instead of running a few miles each day on a treadmill, you ll need to challenge yourself to uneven terrain. It ll create a fatigue, which you won t experience on a treadmill. To say that the successes and failures of the Obama administration are solely a reflection of him and his decisions alone would make little sense. There are several different factors that could hinder him from making decisions, or aid him in making decisions and getting policies passed. The American people were displeased with the way that his first term had unfolded, and they were unhappy that the promises the President made to the country were not kept. Romney was a fresh face, who had a lengthy political background, and who, according to the Washington Post, would have won the election, had it just been held a little later. According to the Post, the hypothetical eight point shift in the popular vote that Romney had acquired according to poll of registered voters would have allowed him to win the election by virtually the same margin that Obama had actually won by (Blake 1). Obama s failure to deliver on his promises caused a handful, about 1 in 5, of his previous supporters to put their trust in Romney instead of him, and this newfound trust in his opponent planted the seed of doubt in the public s mind about the President s abilities to deliver on his previous claims that he had made to get elected (What if Mitt Romney had Won?). However, Romney has also been a positive attribute in Obama s presidency. Obamacare was closely modeled, ironically, after Mitt Romney s healthcare plan that he enacted whilst Governor of Massachusetts (The Choice 2012). After the constitution was ratified, some legislation quickly followed suit, including the electoral system, a law of autonomies, and a law establishing the parameters of communitarian justice in indigenous areas (Crabtree and Chaplin 2013:25). Regarding the economical standpoint, while the average income has soared, the Morales administration has not been able to radically change the economy; rather it has followed a neo extractivist model due to the lingering reliance on gas and other resources. Although this means a larger role for the state, it also means that Bolivia is even more dependent on its natural resources (Farthing and Kohl 2014:79). With so much of the country s earnings coming from natural resources, this puts a strain on a left wing country that is trying to move away from such capitalist influences. An example of how this distribution of money manifests is that urban problems, such as the building of new roads and schools, are often given more attention than rural issues (Crabtree and Chaplin

In reality, it is likely that those may not be their actual hopes and dreams, but what they really want is a job with a good pay. In one paragraph, Jacobs recalls how her father was employed as a doctor and because of this, during the Great Depression, he was still able to get by despite the mass unemployment (54). Children are pressured to do well and earn promising credentials to ensure they are hired in admirable, steady positions in the future and have a decent income salary, such as Jacob s father. Alice Walker juxtaposes Maggie with her sister, Dee, to demonstrate how society denigrates not only African American women but women in general in the 1970s. Early on in the story, Maggie is described as nervous, hopelessly standing in the corner. Later she is described as nearly hidden from view. On a metaphorical level, Maggie is the symbol of the lack of power women held in the 1970s. She is the epitome of the silent female homemaker. On the other hand, Dee is assertive, will look you right in the eye. She serves as a symbol of the free, successful modern woman. However, her assertiveness might come off as cockiness, and too much pride. By contrasting Maggie and Dee, Alice Walker is expressing both sides of the female role during that time. All in all, Maggie is a very distinctive character. Her house burning to the ground, her arrogant sister, and the effect society has on her explains that. Alice Walker has a very interesting way of putting together two opposites to make one of their personalities very clear; Maggie s persona would be

Expressions Of Grief, Loss And Mourning Essay Elizabeth Correll November 29, 2016 ENGL 227 Professor Tessone Expressions of Grief, Loss and Mourning in Romantic Poetry In A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful Edmund Burke writes, It is the nature of grief to keep its object perpetually in its eye, to present it in its most pleasurable views, to repeat all the circumstances that attend to it . Burke s writing attempts to clarify the pictorial, literary, cultural, economic and psychological phenomenon of sublimity, explicating the ways in which power, vastness, obscurity and beauty intersect to form emotional response. A Philosophical Enquiry elucidates why so many Romantic poets and writers would make grief, mourning and death the subjects of their works; the limitless, obscure, infinite theme death corresponds to the existential, contemplative and introspective ideas Romantic writers were attempting to interrogate. Death is unknown and thusly, by Burke s definition, sublime. But the subject of death in Romantic literature transcends the topic of corporeal death and explores the death of memory, of youth, of innocence and of the past. Death becomes something that can encompass multiple forms and occur in different ways, and the exploration of this coincides with the existential, philosophical preoccupations of the time. Furthermore, the Romantic writers were grappling with a shifting, changing society that caused a sense of pervasive loss in their works; as artists,

The Compromise Of Food In Louisiana People in Houston were told to evacuate their homes and to leave everything behind, due to the hurricane, but they couldn t leave everything so they compromised and only brought with them the things that were an absolute necessity. Not a lot of people are able to compromise so easily. For some people this is a hard subject to grasp. Food is a major thingto in society today that not many people can agree on. Food is such a huge part of our everyday lives, but when two people are asked what they want to eat it seems that no one can come to an agreement. Food, however, is, something beautiful to be shared with people (M.F.K. Fisher), not something to cause problems and arguments when a decision about the food can t be made. More often than not it s really hard to compromise, but when it s for the greater good and taking in account people other than yourself, there s a certain satisfaction earned. In order to be considered a well rounded person in society, it is inevitable that one has the ability to compromise. I had to experience compromise first hand in the humid, swampy, hot, seafood loving, Louisiana. Four regions of south Louisiana were settled by the Cajuns. (Ducote).
