with senile cataract and no other concomitant disease that would prevent a
postoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of 20/40 or better. Exclusion
criteria included history of ocular surgery or trauma, corneal disease, glaucoma,
uveitis, vitreous opacities, retinopathy or visual pathway defects. Other exclusion
criteria were current treatment with systemic steroids, immunosuppressants,

Today, when society talks about diversity, often times, Asian Americans are
brought into the conversation and are talked about as highly looked up to
individuals, but they haven t always been this way. On television, many times,
Asian Americans are represented as nerdy and socially incapable/awkward , Asian
American males are mostly shown as being weak and stereotypically awkward,
while Asian American females are either shown as exotic or also stereotypically
awkward and nerdy, as stated by Takaki in his book Strangers from a Different Shore
on page 479,
Hopeful a college education can help them [the students] overcome racial obstacles,
they realize the need to be serious about their studies. But white college students
complain: Asian students are nerds. This very stereotype betrays nervousness fears
that Asian American students are raising class grade curves.
Though, these representations do only account for the three most popular Asian
ethnic groups: Japanese, Chinese and Korean. The other Asian ethnic groups are

My Personal Thoughts On Children s Development
Over the past few weeks through numerous discussions, debates, the use of videos,
documentaries and even experiencing some play ourselves we have looked the
many different issues within early childhood and analysed these through a number
of different perspectives and theories. Throughout this essay I will reflect on how
my thinking has changed and been shaped by these discussions over these few
weeks and how this new knowledge will impact my future regarding children and
the approach I may choose to take when working with them. This essay is
primarily a focus on the key person who work with a small number of children and
will be there to help not only when they first start school but throughout their time
together and who also inform the child s parents of how they handing school life,
any progress they have made since starting and any problems they seem to be

I was at my aunt s home with her husband and 2 children. We were just chatting
together and later began watching a movie.
Unilateral: I could still hear things that were close by, but the farther the sound source
was, the worse the quality of the sound. Things sounded a little more muffled and
distant, almost like phone quality. Similar to the concept of a low resolution image
versus a high resolution image, I could still tell what the sound was, however, it was
very slightly diluted and fuzzy in comparison to normal hearing, although I didn t
find it particularly bothersome at all.

The background music was still very loud with both earplugs in and it
overwhelmed the voices of the employees, my aunt and my cousins. The sound
quality decreased dramatically and it almost sounded as if I were under water. It was
