Essay Cause And Effect
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Cause and Effect" can present its own set of challenges.
While cause-and-effect essays aim to explore the relationship between various events, it requires
a thorough understanding of the subject matter and the ability to articulate the connections in a
clear and logical manner. The complexity lies in the necessity to establish a cause-and-effect
relationship convincingly, which involves conducting extensive research, analyzing data, and
organizing thoughts coherently.
One of the difficulties is striking the right balance between presenting factual evidence and
providing insightful analysis. Too much emphasis on either aspect may result in an imbalanced
essay. Crafting a well-structured essay that seamlessly connects the cause to the effect, and vice
versa, demands a keen analytical mind and proficient writing skills.
Moreover, selecting appropriate causes and effects is crucial. Identifying significant factors and
outcomes that align with the essay's objective requires careful consideration. The challenge is not
just in narrating events but in offering a deeper understanding of why certain events lead to
specific consequences.
Additionally, maintaining clarity and coherence throughout the essay can be challenging.
Ensuring a smooth flow of ideas and transitions between paragraphs is vital for the reader to
comprehend the cause-and-effect relationships being presented.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Cause and Effect" is a demanding task
that requires a combination of research, analytical skills, and effective communication. Despite
the challenges, a well-crafted essay can provide valuable insights into the intricate web of
relationships between various phenomena.

Satire In Mean Girls
Mean Girls is a critically acclaimed movie known for its benevolent satire that
circulates around the reality and cruelty of high school life featuring social status,
class, gender and race in today s society.
The beginning of the movie starts out with the main character Cady Heron, venturing
to her first day of being at an actual American high school after being home schooled
in Africa all her life. She experiences a severe culture shock just on her first day
once she realizes everyone isn t as friendly and open as they may have been in
Africa. Cady takes goes about her first day taking mental notes on everything she runs
into, the un fair, untrusting high school teachers and rude, cruel student body.
However, Cady does eventually meet some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Regina feels as if because she has a lot of money and the freedom to do whatever
she wants, that she can take advantage of other people who she feels are less than
her because of their social status as a nerd or unpopular . During this scene, a
critical part in the movie is brought to attention. The Burn Book which is a book
that the plastics have put together that features pictures of all the people at their
school that they don t like and/or want to get revenge on. Next to their pictures are
nasty comments about them, which later backfires after Regina is excluded from
the plastics and decides to take Karen, Gretchen, Cady socially down with her by
turning The Burn Book into the principal s office. Once she speaks to the
principal, she explain how she had nothing to do with The Burn Book and how
Karen, Cady, and Gretchen are the sole creators of the book because they re the
only ones who aren t in it. Regina then copies all of the pages in The Burn Book ,
handing out the papers around school so everyone can see the lies and rumors spread
about them. This creates chaos throughout the social classes in the school, everyone
ends up fighting (mostly the girls) and that s when everyone realizes that their
mental representations of other people are just as shallow as the lies and rumors
being spread about

The Aztec empire thrived in Mexico from the 13th to the 16th centuries. In the early
16th century, Spanish Conquistadors overtook the Aztecs as a part of the Age of
Exploration. Since then, historians have struggled to define how history should
remember the Aztecs. The Aztecs were a sophisticated civilization because of their
organized government, intricate religious rituals and memorable traditions.
The Aztecs were sophisticated for their organized government. The Aztec
government consisted of strong rulers. Their prestigious rulers led them through
conquests such as how their ruler, Itzcoatl did in 1427 (doc C). Itzcoatl was a ruler
who vastly contributed to the advancement of the Aztecs by leading them in the
claiming of more land. Aztecs had their own capital, Tenochtitlan. They were cultured
and their population grew to 300,000 in 1519 (doc F). The Aztecs were sophisticated
because of their rapid population growth and their strong rulers.
Secondly, the Aztecs were a sophisticated civilization because of their complex
religion and religious rituals. The Aztecs treated warriors as a royal member,
leading up to the sacrifice (doc H). This made them advanced because they organized
the sacrifice and elevated warriors status to that of a living ... Show more content on

The Aztecs had traditions such as rubbing their knees with ashes upon entering the
house of a woman who delivered a baby (doc Q). Rubbing ashes on their knees
made them sophisticated because the Aztec traditions were memorable. The Aztecs
gave their children grinding stones or small looms when they reached the age of
three (doc O). They were innovative because giving a child a grinding stone or small
loom once they are three, is distinguishable from other civilizations. The Aztecs were
worldly because of their traditions such as rubbing ashes on their knees and giving
their three year old children grinding stones and small

Journal 1 The first day of the internship I was introduced to the Standards of
Procedures enforced at PDGX. The entire day was devoted to the global SOP
training which involved reading, presentations by respective staff and quizzes. I
am now HIPPA Certified! I also attended other scientist specific sessions and got to
know the people who were hired in the month of January. Overall, this day was
devoted to documentation. Journal 2 The second session of this internship
introduced me to the concept of stock valuation. Here I was assigned my first
project to verify, amend and update records concerning stock options. I was also
taught the concept behind stock reevaluation and its advantages before a company
decides to go public. I was also introduced to methods and formulas used to track
stock vesting periods. Journal 3 On the third visit, I had a briefing on the P/L
project which involved restructuring the accounts to better project profitability.
This reminded me of ABC as we were essentially reclassifying everything to
identify cost drivers. Here I had an opportunity to work with one of the project
managers. We worked on developing database elements and piloting them in excel.
The most I got from this experience was the insight into the services provided by
PGDX. I also got to be introduced to names of reagents sequencing activities which
ultimately allowed me to grasp the fundamental process associated with the services
provided by PGDX. Additionally, I am now aware
Cause And Effect Of Gun Control
Gun Control and Its Effects. Many people around the United States are victims of
shootings, whether they be school shootings, mass shootings, or Terrorist Attacks.
There seem to be two common ideas either support or oppose gun control. In the
United States, many gun control supporters believe that guns are the reason mass
shootings happen while gun control opponents believe that people are the cause of
mass shootings. But they both want the people in the United Statesto be safe, whether
that is from government tyranny, mass shootings, gun violence, or mental health.
Government tyranny is what most, if all opponents to gun control believe and
worry about. This is a common occurrence because that is what is commonly
accepted as the reason for the Second Amendment. Supporters of gun control
believe that the United States is a great country that would never fall to tyranny.
But opponents often show the comparison with the federalist and the anti federalist
because we often feel the importance of the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights
guarantees the right to free speech and free worship along with the right to bear
arms. Opponents of gun control also cite how this country was founded on
fighting a tyrannical government, and the founding fathers did not want to
become what they fought so hard to get rid of ( Gun Control Laws... ). Mass
shootings are a controversial subject because many do not want to rush into gun
control because they could because anxious from any recent mass shootings.
Supporters of gun control believe that taking away assault weapons would solve
this but that word was made up in the wake of these shootings . Assault Weapons
are made up assault rifles are standard practice for the military as they are fully
automatic and have big capacity magazines and are made specifically to do major
damage. The Assault Weapons many supporters want to ban are known as semi
automatic rifles and have been around since the early days of the war with vietnam.
In fact the AR 15the most popular riflein America and it was originally developed 60

In the Bible, in the book of Habakkuk verse 1:13, Your eyes are too pure to look on
evil; you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous?
Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than
themselves? ( Habakkuk 1:13 ). Habakkuk 1:13 is an all encompassing verse that
illustrates the tragic miss treatment of Japanese Christians throughout the sixteenth
and seventeenth century, which is the setting that Shusaku Endo is successfully
capturing. The novel starts with news that Father Ferreira has apostatized, and his
fellow priests are utterly devastated. Father Rodrigues and Father Garrpe, in an

Nagasaki, Rodrigues advices the chosen to trample the fumie if they are faced with
that choice. Father Garrpe is shocked by Father Rodrigues s advice and lack of
hesitation to denounce one s faith, which illustrates the beginning of Father
Rodrigue s denial of his own faith. After Mokichi and Ichizo were brought back to
the village and tied to crosses to die by water punishment, Father Rodrigues questions
everything, What do I want to say? I myself do not quite understand. Only that today,
when for the glory of God Mokichi and Ichizo moaned, suffered, and died, I cannot

depressing silence of the sea, the silence of God.... the feeling that while men raise

1 Introduction In different working fields, companies face the pressure of
globalization, and they must find new ways to overcome this challenge. The
following example, introduces the case of British Airways, which needs to deal with
the globalization issue trying to reduce the operational costs, increase profits and
provide suitable services to customers. According to British Airways annual report
from 2008/2009, the airline carried more than 33 million passengers. It earned nearly

The structural perspective aims to defeat lack of activity periods, doubts and
dissatisfaction of employees about their role in works and companies in order to
make organizations achieve short and long run goals and results, increases their
efficiency and maximize performance through specialization and division of labor
and suitable forms of coordination, control and working best ways. Overall, the
structure frame is the key element for profitable and sustainable organizations.
Organizations works best when rationality prevails and they are ready to anticipate
and deal with environment issues and other uncertainty problems. As mentioned, the
main goal is create coordinate, balance and efficiency organizations which can thrive
for many profitable years. Therefore, structure will work as a blueprint (Bolman and
Deal, 2008) inside organizations. First of all, it is not possible to take one structure as
ideal, whereas the structures are different from organization to organization, because
each one has their own identity and strategy. Today, all of them face pressures of
globalization, competition and other environment pressures outside and inside the
organizations, therefore, organizations cross times where they have to rethink and
reconsider new approach, perhaps through restructuring. These restructuring
pressures, conducted by elements of the company environment should be considered
as a main source of reaction to fight the
Origin ( E.g Time, Place Of Beginnings )
Origin (e.g time, place of beginnings): The Inca was also known as Tawantinsuyu,
first appeared in the Andes region of South America throughout the 12th century A.D,
the heterogeneous empire quickly flourished through the military power of their
emperors. They had their own culture and pantheist beliefs up until 1438, however,
the influences of past settlements and the following ninety five years of expansion
caused religious beliefs to change and develop significantly. The Inca conquered
neighbouring Andean regions which had their own set of religious beliefs,
worshipped deities and had unique practices. Nearly all Andean communities
participated in the everyday worship of the forces of nature (including rain,
lightning, thunder, the moon and the rising of the sun each day) and venerated the
earth s physical features (such as snakes, jaguars, rivers and mountains). The
peasants among each allyu (a group of extended families) executed these practices
for thousands of years. Each allyu worshipped their ancestors, which they believed
to originate from the natural world at sacred places called huacas. The Incas built
their own temples, sacred sites, took sacred relics from the locals and held them in
the sacred land Cuzco to encourage compliance with the Inca beliefs and accept the
supremacy of Inti (the most important Inca deity and sun god). Instead of forcing
them to completely convert to the Inca state religion, the Incas assimilated the deities,
beliefs and culture of
Russi A Great And Catherine The Great
Russia has seen its fair share of autocratic monarchs as well, such as Peter the Great
and Catherine the Great. Peter first ascended the throne as co czar with his half
brother Ivan V in the death of their brother Feodore. Their elder sister, Sophia, was
the most capable to take the throne. But being a girl, she was unable to do so and
could only rule as regent for the two princes turned czars. While Sophia ruled, Peter
spent his days building forts on the banks of a river outside of Moscow. He played
war games using them, recruiting in boys and arming them with real guns. The
games were dangerous; 24 boys were once killed in a single game. But the games
eventually paid off, and Peter had himself two self trained armies that he used to
overthrow Sophia and rule the throne himself. The regent was forced into an
enclosed convent, living as a nun for the rest of her days (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time
of Troubles).
Life in Russia had changed very little since the Middle Ages. Russia had not
experienced a Renaissance and was quite backwards in terms of lifestyle compared
to Western Europe. Peter wanted to change all that. He viewed the church as an
impediment to progress in Russia, wanting to break their restraining bonds of
complex customs and modernize Russia (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time of Troubles).
It s time to constrain the authority not proper to the old man [i.e., the patriarch]; God

Infinity Research Paper
The infinity symbol was introduced many years ago. The meaning of infinity was
believed to be used dating as far back as 400 BC. The symbol and definition that is
currently used for infinity is mostly used in mathematics. The infinity symbol and
definition has previously had different meanings, but basic concepts of what infinity
represents have remained the same. Throughout history, not only did it represent
mathematical thoughts, infinity had religious representation as well. The Upanishad,
which were texts recorded by people of the Hindu religion, used the idea of infinity.
They were the first to be known for the thought of something being infinite, but not
in a mathematical way their philosophy was if you remove a part from whole or add
a part to whole, still what remains is whole (OnlineClock.net).... Show more content

Though the definition was not in mathematical terms, the concept related to the idea
which was used in mathematical terms. The Ancient Greeks also contributed to the
idea of infinity. At the time Ancient Greeks did not define the word infinity, but were
aware of the concepts from their surroundings. Since Ancient Greeks spent a lot of
time studying the planets and stars, the thought of there being no beginning or end
formed. Which is the current definition for infinity. The scientist Isaac Newton later
made contributions to infinity. Isaac Newton produced a theory on small numbers or
infinitesimals as they are now known (OnlineClock.net). Although Isaac Newton did
put some sense to the idea of infinity, there was still some confusion dealing with the
concept of infinity. Galileo Galilei then created the Galileo s Paradox which showed
that set of counting numbers can correspond with smaller sets of their squares .

The Humanistic Theory And The Kubler-Ross Five Stage
Grief...
This essay looks to explain how both the Humanistic theory and the Kubler ross
five stage grief model can be applied to the loss of a limb. It will also be looking at
how these theories can help the healthcare team in their care provision.
The loss of a limb is a great loss to a person and would be difficult for anyone to
comprehend initially and some never can. It affects all areas of a person s life from
the obvious physical aspect to mentally/emotionally. Apart from losing a limb they
must comprehend the reason why they had a limb amputated, for example through
disease or trauma (Healio,2002). The humanistic theory, particularly the work of Carl
Rogers and Abraham Maslow, has been a great breakthrough within psychology,
especially when looking at the emotions, thoughts and behaviour of an amputee.
Unlike other psychological theories the humanistic theory aims to look at a person
s feelings and to see life as they see it rather than from the perspective of an
observer(Mcleod,2015). According to Roger s humanistic theory, every person
has the built in drive and ability to be the best that they can be. This means to self
actualise. To achieve self actualisation a person needs a high self concept which the
theory explains has three main components. These are self image, self esteem and
ideal self (McLeod, 2014). The loss of a limb affects a person s self concept. The loss
of a limb may make a person feel no longer attractive and deserving of any forms of
attention. As their
The A Cold Winter Night
Picture this: It s a cold winter night and you are diving on a desolate, icy road and
you are tired and in a bad mood. You spot a flash of red up ahead. A family of cats
is hiding in a torn box on the edge of the road. You have two options, drive by and
believe that they will be alright, thinking someone else will help them. Or two,
take a few seconds out of your busy schedule, clean out the back of your car and
carefully put the cats in, you know that you don t like cats but are willing to help.
Which would you choose if given the option? Think of this: It s a hot summer s day
and you are running late for a meeting and your kids are yelling in the back and you
spot a dog, just wondering around in the middle of the road, no collar and looks
like he s been without food for a few days. Would you stop to help or just honk your
horn until he moves? I m betting you say you would help but would you really? In
this day and age we don t think much of stray and wild animals roaming our streets
and roads. Just a nuisance not really a threat right? Stray animals are a huge problem
in our communities today, whether it be from hit animals, damage to houses, trashed
areas, or the pile up in our humane societies. Throughout this essay topics will be
discussed about stray animal negligence such as, stray catand dog populus, statistics,
problems in humane societies, and ultimately how to fix this problem which is by
spaying and neuteringanimals as well as stopping the flow of animals, and
Unit 2 Scene 1 Preliminary Investigation
Scene One: Preliminary Investigation Secure Scene and Assist Victim Due the
victim being dead, the first step I would take in this case is a perimeter search. I
would probably secure a larger area than I need because I can always shrink the
perimeter once I begin processing. The second step I would do is once I found the
perimeter, I would secure that boundary. And add police officers in various sides
on the outside of the perimeter to help keep people away and sabotaging any
evidence. In my head, I would do a walk though of the scene to determine the
possible strategy or motive. Preliminary Interview Focus The first people I would
question would be the group that discovered the body. I would interview them
separate and keep them separate, to get the most accurate statements. I would either
keep them in separate rooms, or keep them far away from one another in which they
cannot hear each other and get influenced on what to say. I... Show more content on

Which means that they weren t very careful, and or didn t know what they were
doing. I say this because whoever the perpetrator is was not very careful of what
he was doing or leaving behind. For example, The uniform officers discovered a
cell phone and set of keys in some deep grass about 10 yards from the body. The
keys have trace blood and a strand of black hairs clinging to them. It seems like
they were in rush to dump the body and leave or were afraid and wants to rush off
the scene. Despite whatever the case maybe I believe there were two perpetrators
because there is no sign of struggle or dragging of the victim which mean she was
carried and placed. The two sets of footprint also give me a general state of mind
that my theory might be right. The killer had his fun play before killing the victim, I
believe that there was some type of assault. The gun shot had partially blackened
residue which leads me to believe that it was a close range gunshot
The Effect Of Strain Gauge Rosette Used For Multi
Channel...
Abstract While calculating the results from the collected data, the thin plate shows
non linear behaviour such that stress does not vary linearly with strain. In theory
when pressure is concentrated at the centre of a circular plate, stress value decreases
with respect to increasing radial distance from the centre. However in this case, we
see that there are two principal stresses and they behave differently than one another.
This experiment will introduce us to a new strain gauge called strain gauge rosette
used for multi channel strain measurement and other equations to calculate principal
stresses and strains in a two dimensional state. Introduction For a thin circular plate,
stress and strain usually occur in a two dimensional state. As it is difficult to measure
stress, strains are instead measured in real life practices and its corresponding stress
values are calculated. The most popular measuring tool for strain is the strain gauge.
Since strain is the measure of change in displacement over the original dimension of a
structure, the measuring tool must be sensitive enough to detect that small change in
displacement. Thus, we can learn how to handle sensitive measuring equipment and
ways to ensure that the data collected is as accurate as possible and also to omit any
errors that will affect the final calculation. Besides that, we can broaden our
knowledge on multi channel strain measurements because in reality two dimensional
strains are not
The Is The Rationalization Of The Store Of Department...
Mcdonaldization, according to George Ritzer, is the rationalization taken to its
extreme. I have the luxury of being employed by Sears, company which is a chain
of department stores across the country. At Sears, I am an appliances sales
consultant. A normal day in this position consist of arriving on time to get my
reports for the day. These reports are different customer information, complains,
and request that have to be dealt with by either me, or I have to find the
appropriate person to be able to help. Once that is taken care of, it is my job to catch
up on the appliances the Sears sells and formulation a salespitch that will
successfully persuade the customer to buy their appliances during their visit. This
consist of finding out the known problems, known questions, and solutions that
have worked for other people. After this is done, it is time to engage the customer.
Sears has what they call know your expert , in which a customer now has the ability
to shop online in a more efficient manner. Appliances, unlike other products, is
harder to shop online for because the customer wants to see and touch the product.
Know your expert allows the customer to go online, find products they are
interested in, fill out specific features they would like, and then go into to the store
and have an expert explain the product that is comparable to their selection. Of
course, my job is to do what is right for the company first, and if I can help the

Case Study Of A Child To Love The Art Of Drawing
Case Study
According to (Ya Huei,2014), It is natural for a child to love the art of drawing. It is
stated that children s work on a whole reflects their feelings, thoughts, and actions
circling in their minds. The purpose of the study is to critically assess a student who
displays a high level of interest in Visual Arts. The data was collected through
interviews with parents, teacher and the student. After a few months of studying and
collection, the results found that: 1) the drawings reflected the child s imagination, 2)
the drawings were of the things in relation to his life, 3) the drawings reflected his
feelings about what he sees.
Introduction
(Ya Huei,2014) also stated that children naturally enjoy drawing. There drawings are
typically simple and straightforward which reflects their psychological condition. At
the early stages of childhood, children s drawings are equivalent to their language, and

Therefore, in the process of understanding children s drawings, words that
demonstrate personal or social functions are key factors in determining children s
nature and their early symbolic development. Thus, drawings are children s
behavioural and dialectical expressions, and their mental and ideological
presentations. Children s drawings typically exhibit personal meaning, and present
various image manifestations and styles. Although children are designated as little
artists, few studies have examined the images portrayed in children s drawings.
Objective
This case study is about a young boy named John Miller. I observed him in his
classroom at the St. Mary Academy for children. He is 8 years old, has a young
brother and lives with his mother and his father. The study focuses primarily on the
child s drawings that were collected to determine his artistic development.

This was one of our favorite songs of the show because it we related it to ourselves
and our lives. Kate Monster then gets a call from the teacher she teaches with and the

Mscs, A Heterogeneous Members Of Stromal Stem Cells
MSCs are a heterogeneous subgroup of stromal stem cells. According to International
Society for Cellular Therapy (ISCT) in 2007, they have three unique features:
1.They are non hematopoietic multi potential cells with selfrenewality and can
differentiate into different types of mesodermic, ectodermic and endodermic tissues,
especially bone, fat and cartilage.
2.They are fibroblastic or spindle shaped in culture media and adhere to the culture

Kringle and simply Santa . He is a figure that has been influenced by legend, myth,
folklore and most importantly for our purposes today. He wears red, is pulled
around on a sleigh by a bunch of reindeer and delivers presents to good children on
the 24th of December.
The purpose of my post is not to argue about whether or not to teach kids about the
full on mythical father Christmas; personally I think it is a bad idea to go along with
our culture on this; my friend Clint Archer does a good job of dealing with this
issue, click here to read it.
What I hope to do in this article is see if there is anything about Father Christmas
that can be redeemed. Now before you think my optimistic amillenialism has got the
best of me, please read on.
The portly, joyous, white bearded, bespectacled, red coat wearing, black leather belt
displaying man who carries gifts for children in a huge bad really became popular in
the USA and Canda in the 19th century . Thanks to the American media machine this
image has been maintained and promulgated in song, radio, TV, children s books and

corporations like Coka Cola taking Santa on board their advertising .
If we move back a few generations, some people say that the affinity Santa has for

Recycling In America Essay
Americans make more than 200 million tons of garbage each year, enough to fill
Busch Stadium from top to bottom twice a day, that s over 1800 feet! according to
Ballparks. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that 75% of the
American waste stream is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it says Do
Something. With the invention of the virtually indestructible material well known as
plastic, on top of the rapidly evolving technological world, and the extreme reduction
of locations where landfills can be built, it s hard to believe that 75% of the waste
stream in America alone is recyclable, and yet only 30% of it is actually recycled.
Recyclingis a beneficial solution to many of our increasingly important environmental

to serve his own vanity and throws the sword s remains into the lake, while
admitting his mistake. The Lady of the Lake offers a restored Excalibur to the
king, Lancelot is revived, and Arthur and his knights unify the land. Arthur creates
the Round Table, builds Camelot, and marries Guenevere while Lancelot

budding sorceress and still bitter towards Arthur, becomes apprenticed to Merlin
in hopes of learning the Charm of Making from him. Lancelot stays away from the

Guenevere of driving Lancelot away, driven from us by a woman s desire , forcing
Lancelot to duel Gawain to defend his and Guenevere s honor. The preceding night,
Lancelot duels himself in a nightmare and awakens to find himself wounded by his

Globalisation and Media Essay
4. Does globalisation imply cultural homogenisation? Your answer should consider
specific local and global media examples and should include reference to the
Appadurai and McChesney article in the course reader. Globalization plays an
important role on the world and society today. Furthermore globalization is very
arguable that it will induced cultural homogenization. Globalization can be simply
defined by the process of cross culture between nation and nation or the process of
international integration which actually mean the process of sharing ideas, cultures,

Example Of Heroism In Beowulf
The first story ever to be written was called Beowulf. Beowulf reflects a man with
superhuman powers fighting mythical monsters and dragons. People around the time
that this story was told thought of Beowulf as a hero. Beowulf, however, possessed
multiple aspects about him that prove otherwise. Although Beowulfhad strength like
none other, he enjoyed bragging about it and using it for some selfish reasons. Since
the time of Beowulf, the ideology of heroism has assimilated into modern days
conception of heroes, but core characteristics from Beowulf s time, such as strength
has remained.
First off, Beowulf s drive to battle evil has remained compatible with the image of
heroes today. In Beowulf, the hero himself has a desire to defeat all evil terrorizing
local innocence. In the story the author explains how Beowulf aspires to travel to
Herot, a land tormented by a fearsome monster, grendel, and exile him from life.
This is often similar to how heroes today are thought of. On Monday, July 15, a local
15 year old and his friends of Pennsylvania were recognized as heroes after saving a
young girl from abduction. Temar boggs and several of his friends heard that a
little girl had gone missing. They all rallied up and went looking after her. Boggs
explained, We got all of our friends to go look for her (Caulfield 1). When they
noticed a maroon car with a white haired man and a little girl inside, the man pushed
the girl out of the car and took off. Boggs and his friends knew

and today I m here to talk to you about how my past 5 years of English study have
affected my overall attitudes values and beliefs. Although English isn t my best
subject nor the most enjoyable, I can t deny that it has been extremely valuable
when it came to teaching key attitudes and beliefs and reinforcing ones which
already existed. To highlight this, I have selected the play, The Crucible, the movie,
The Lord of the Flies, and the novel, The book Thief. For each I will analyse how
each have affected my attitudes values and beliefs, how each have affected how I
view the world and how each successfully use impactful aesthetic devices. The

The study of the crucible also allowed me to learn of the struggles of puritan
lifestyle and how their Witch Trials which killed numerous innocent lives were
extremely similar to the McCarthy hearings of the 1950 s. It allowed me to realise
how the Puritan lifestyle was extremely strict as the government was intertwined
with the church and religious beliefs meaning questioning officials was deemed as
questioning their religion their society was based on. The witch trials also
allowed me to gain an understanding of the McCarthy hearings as during these trials
people were wrongly accused of being communist spies forcing them to lose their
job and tarnishing their reputation in the process. As is evident the study of the
crucible has also helped me to learn about the time and era the play was set as well
as the tragedy of the McCarthy trials from which it was based. The crucible also
demonstrated aesthetic devices that are memorable to me even though I studied it
a year ago. The most notable aesthetic device which I can recall is during Giles
Corey s execution by weighted stones. As stones were placed on top of a board
placed on his chest he was asked one final time to respond to the charges that were
falsely placed against him however his last words were More Weight which in turn
killed him as the sheer weight crushed his body. In this scene the weight symbolises
Regret by Kate Chopin Essay
Regret by Kate Chopin
In the short story Regret by Kate Chopin a woman called Mamzelle AurГ©lie has to
keep a neighbour s four children for two weeks.
Mamzelle AurГ©lie is an old and lonely woman. She has never had a man and lives
alone on her farm with some animals and Negroes working for her.
Because of a dangerous illness of her mother, the young neighbour has to leave and
couldn t take care of her children anymore. This is why Mamzelle AurГ©lie, who
has never ever has children before, has to keep them.

One example for this is that the action takes places within a short period of time,
which is quite precisely two weeks, and the place of action doesn t change; it only
plays on the farm.
You could also say that the story features an important and critical moment in
Mamzelle AurГ©lie s life and that there are just a few characters.
Another very important aspect is the symbol used in this short story. I suppose it is
justified to say that the children are the symbol uniting all different aspects in the
story. Before Mamzelle AurГ©lie had to keep the children she was leading a very
lonely life. As the children were living with her, her life got a sense and she became
a happy person. But after they left her she realized that she wasted her whole life and
regrets everything. Through those children all the different themes of the story like
family or loneliness come together.
Now this is the one hand, but on the other several typical aspects of a short story aren
t part of the text.
Already at the beginning of the story we get to know a lot about the main character
what gives you the impression of an introduction.
Additionally Mamzelle AurГ©lie isn t really an everyday person. She is very special
and represents just a very small part of the readers.
But all in all my opinion is that the story features many typical elements and you can
definitely call it a short
Analysis Of The Book The Book Of Titus
Paul is the author of the book of Titus. The book of Titus was written around the
years 63 65 A.D. The letter was addressed to Titus who was a gentile and a
companion of Paul. Paul called Titus his True son . Titus along with First and
Second Timothy are called Pastoral Epistles. The reason for being categorized that
way is because the letters emphasizes the reason for having leaders within the church.

During the time that Paul and Titus were there, the Cretans were at a deplorable
moral level. They were dishonest, gluttonous, and lazy. Titus had to overcome
their way of life and preach the Gospel to them. Some of the offices that were

Preserving Sea Turtles in United States Essay
Preserving Sea Turtles in United States
Sea turtles, which have been around for millions of years, are on the brink of
extinction. In many countries, people consider their meat and eggs as prized
delicacies. Often times they are just killed for their beautiful shell. However, the
leading cause of sea turtle death in the US can be attributed to shrimp fishermen and
the nets they use to catch shrimp (1). Each year, thousands of sea turtles are carelessly
killed even though there are measures which can be taken to avoid this catastrophe.
With proper usage of a device called the Turtle Excluder Device (TED), shrimp
fishermen could reduce sea turtle deaths in their nets by 97% (5) thereby increasing

tortoise shell. Hawksbill turtles are named accordingly because of their hawk like
beak. They range in size from 45 90 kilograms in weight and 0.8 1.0 meters in length.
Commercial exploitation is the main cause of the continued decline of the hawksbill

We, as a country, have apologized, however a statement of regret can t fix the

Summary Of The Supernatural In Macbeth
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, there are many interesting sections which could
be concentrated on due to the suspense and the involvement of the supernatural. The
supernatural is what causes conflict in the play and the prophecies from the witches
in act one scene three is the inciting action in the piece. The supernatural causes the
future conflict by motivating Macbethto kill Duncan so he could become king of
Scotland. Through temptation, the supernatural motivates characters to think
arrogantly and for their own benefit. The supernatural in Macbeth presents prophecies
which tempt Macbeth and Banquo with the idea of power. This leads Macbeth to
contradict his loyal and courageous personality by planning a treacherous murder on
Duncan with the arrogant intention of becoming king and later killing other
characters in the play with the only purpose of keeping his own powers. Both
Macbeth and Banquo were also tempted by the original prophecies and showed clear
motivation to act upon them. However, there is a clear contrast between the
propinquity in which the two characters began taking actions and the logic put into
their decisions.
Macbeth shifts from being loyal and courageous to a murderer executing a
treacherous plan to kill the current king due to supernatural suggestions that he
would be king himself. Macbeth is discussed as a man worthy of recognition by
other characters in act one scene two. In this scene, the Captain states: For brave
Macbeth (1. 2. 18). Macbeth is being praised for his courage and loyalty to
Scotland and the king. This first impression is hastily contrasted after hearing the
prophecy of the witches stating he will be king hereafter (1. 3. 53). Immediately
after hearing this, Macbeth already begins to think about how he would be
crowned king: If chance will have me king, why, chance may / crown me / without
stir. (1. 3. 157 159) Macbeth s arrogance is made apparent as with the immediacy of
his thoughts of becoming king and it is clear that the supernatural has given him
arrogant ambition as Macbeth is already beginning to think of how he will be
crowned king. Macbeth eventually decides he will show his Black and deep desires
(1. 4. 58) and murder Duncan, the current king of
The Little Red Riding Hood By Jacob And Wilhelm Grimm
Charles Perrault and Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were the authors that shaped The
Little Red Riding Hood into what we know in modern literature. Angela Carter, on
the other hand, flipped the original message made by both authors upside down. Each
of the three authors uses one common theme of trusting strangers too much is
dangerous. However, Carter s version challenges that theme by showing the wolves
having human moments. And these themes can be explained by the culture that was
written in. However, it s also important to understand each of the story s messages to
the audience children or adults. Depending on the authors, the story of Little Red
Riding Hoodhas the main protagonist either dying or surviving to prove the authors

Perrault helped establish the theme that would be used whenever some author
reimagines the Little Red Riding Hood. The concept of childhood didn t exist
back then because education was considered to be a waste of time after working to
survive. Perrault makes it clear in the first paragraph where he describes the
mother being excessively fond of her daughter while the grandmother doted on her
still more (618). Little Red Riding Hood s family spoiled her by being dishonest
about the horrors of our world. As a result, the gullibleness of the Little Red Riding
Hood led her to get eaten by the wolf because she wasn t able to realize that the
wolf was wearing the grandmother s nightclothes. Unfortunately for Little Red
Riding Hood, she fell for the charming wolf and it costed her and her grandmother s
lives. It goes well with the theme since it tells the readers that people, especially
young girls and women, should never trust the wolves who can be charming, quiet,
polite, unassuming, complacent, and sweet (620). And that children should always
question everything even their own parents for suspicious activities before it is too
late. Perrault s theme also relates to the period, where it was published in, because it
was written for women in courts so they can look out for any charming man, who
Vinyl Flooring
Why Vinyl Flooring Is A Good Choice For Your New Kitchen Floor
If you re looking for stylish waterproof flooring for your kitchen, you should
consider going with vinyl. Vinyl flooring is popular because it comes in many
different styles, looks upscale, and it s easy to maintain. Here are some of the
reasons you should consider vinyl for your new kitchen floor.
Vinyl Mimics WoodOr Stone
If you have hardwood floors in the rest of your home, and wish you could have them
in your kitchen too, then vinyl is the solution. You can buy sheet vinyl with wood
plank designs complete with wood grain and authentic wood color. Vinyl flooring is
also available in planks just like real wood. The planks click together or stick to each

Loose lay sheet vinyl doesn t even need to be glued to the floor. It has a stiff
backing that keeps it flat on the floor, so all you have to do is roll it out and cut it
to fit your kitchen. Planks are more time consuming to install, but if you have the
patience, you can do it yourself by laying down the floor one plank at a time and
locking it in place. Vinyl is easy to cut and trim to an exact fit around corners,
doorways, and kitchen islands.
Vinyl Is Waterproof And Durable
The best thing about vinyl flooring is that it is waterproof. You can easily place it
in your kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room without worrying about water
damage. Spills mop right up, and standing water won t harm the vinyl. If your
dishwasher overflows or your dog knocks over the water bowl, you don t have to
panic, because there won t be damage or labor intensive clean up like you would
have with a real wood floor. In addition to being waterproof, vinyl flooring is
durable and stands up well to high traffic. This makes it an ideal flooring material
when you have kids and pets in the house.
Whether you want the look of wood, stone, or something entirely different, vinyl will
match your kitchen dГ©cor perfectly. There are many colors and patterns to choose
from. If you re not the DIY type, you can have the flooring professionally installed,
and since installation is fairly easy,
Analysis Of The Movie The Babadook
The Babadook is a haunting film filled with twists and turns that leave the audience
terrified without ever utilizing a single clichГ© jump scare. The audience is
constantly in a state of dread and fear along with the protagonist. One of the final
scenes in the movie shows the protagonist walking into her basement to feed the
monster that she keeps down there. The scene is a unique ending that is not
commonly seen in horror films. It revolves around implicit meaning and the
interesting point of view editing. Without the implicit meaning of the filmand the
point of view editing in this scene, the emotional impact of the film would have been
much weaker.
The scene begins with the protagonist, Amelia, standing at the entrance to the
basement with Sam. She instructs her son to go outside and play, while she enters
the basement. The audience sees Amelia slowly walk down the stairs with a bowl
full of worms in her hands. It leaves the viewer a bit confused the first time they
watch the film due to the unusual nature of the act. She sets the bowl down on the
ground and the camera takes on the viewpoint of the Babadook as he comes roaring
out of his hiding spot. The protagonist soothes the monster before returning upstairs
to her son and her normal life. The scene provides an excellent representation of
implicit meaning and point of view editing.
The implicit meaning of the film is seen throughout the movie, but during the viewer

African American Slaves In The Caribbean In 1789
In 1789 Saint Domingue produced 60% of the world s coffee and 40% of the world
s sugar imported by France and Britain. The colony was the most profitable
possession of the French Empire. Saint Domingue was also the wealthiest and most
prosperous colony, for the plantation owners at least, of all the colonies in the
Caribbean.
In 1789, whites numbered 32,000; mulattoes and free blacks, 28,000; and dark
slaves, an expected 452,000. The most reduced class of society was oppressed
blacks, who dwarfed whites and free non white individuals by an edge of ten to
one. The slave populace on the island totaled portion of the one million slaves in
the Caribbean by 1789. 66% were African conceived, and they had a tendency to be
less tame than those conceived in the Americas. The passing rate in the Caribbean
surpassed the conception rate, so imports of subjugated Africans were important to
keep up the numbers required to work the estates. The slave populace declined at a
yearly rate of two to five percent, because of workaholic behavior, lacking
nourishment and sanctuary, deficient dress and medicinal consideration, and an
irregularity between the genders, with a greater number of men than ladies. A few

Why Negotiations Occur Within An Organization
Introduction This research paper pursues two aims. First is to illustrate why
negotiations occur within an organization. This will be done through examining the

nature of the work organization, a battle of ideas that takes place where implications

Danger of overlooked for promotion also a disadvantage we have to look because
the danger of being overlooked for promotions and career development
opportunities is quite real when you are away from the office and other more
visible employees are actively competing for them. An open line of communication
with management and regular visits to the office are critical in order to prove your
dedication and commitment to your career and to prevent the out of sight out of
mind syndrome. Another disadvantage is need for high self discipline it s because
working from home is not for anyone. It takes a lot of dedication, self control and
discipline to motivate yourself to persevere in working at home alone over the long
run without succumbing to the distractions and losing drive and momentum. Often a
partial arrangement where you report into the office once or twice a week is the
optimal arrangement as it allows for close interaction with colleagues and supervisors
and ensures you remain in touch with company developments while still permitting

Colorados Famous People
Colorado s Famous People In 1540, a Spanish Conquistador ( Conqueror in
English) named Francisco Vasquez de Coronado led a journey to the Southwest.
Coronado was born in Salamanca, Spain in 1510. His army had included
Europeans and enslaved Africans. He was looking for the riches of the Seven
Cities of Cibola, he was following the footsteps of a man by the name of,
Estevanico. Estevanico was also looking for the Seven Cities of Cibola,
Estevanico was a scout for Marcos de Niza. It was rumored that it was filled with
gold and silver. Sadly, Coronado never found the riches or the cities, all that he
found was the Native Americans which had included, the Utes and Comanches.
They had looked intimidating to the Native Americans with his army. He had the
better weapons and armor. The intimidation made the tribes react and defend, using
bows, arrows, and spears. Eventually, the Spanish had decided that they would have
to leave. He had ended his search at the Wichita s Village. He left with
discouragement to his home, Nueva Galicia. It was a place where Native Americans
rebelled against harsh Spanish rule. Coronado lost his position as governor and
retired in MexicoCity, and died in 1554.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sickle Cell Diseases
Skin pigmentation is affected by the way that bodies absorb vitamin D from
cholesterol. When a person is in the sun a lot, his or her body is exposed to ultraviolet
B light; this is known to convert the sunlight into cholesterol, which then converts
into vitamin D (Moalem 51). As a result, the amount of sunexposure that one gets
can begin to make him or her a darker color; however, they are the ones who have a
healthy level of cholesterol in their bodies. Hence, the darker skin is a compromise
in order for humans to have a sufficient cholesterol level. Furthermore, a human s
folate levels are also related to the skin pigmentation in their bodies. Folate is an
integral part that allows the cells to synthesize in preparation for meiosis. Those...

In some cases, one is able to protect him or herself from this disease. For example,
sickle cell disease is known to give some form of protection for humans from malaria.
This genetic disease is where a human s red blood cells are more crescent shaped
rather than round like most people. Parasites in malaria go into the blood cell s
membrane and begin to shift the protein. Sickle cell disease is able to stop
reshaping and gets rid of the parasite that would have continued spreading
(McNiel). Additionally, dense body hair is another way that the human body has
compromised to prevent malaria. The hair acts as a type of protection to the layer
of skin; consequently, it makes it harder for the mosquito to go through and
transmit the disease. Dense hair on the forearms and legs the parts of the body
usually exposed even with moderate dress may have been a defence against malaria
carried by mosquitos (Moalem 63). An evolutionary adaptation made by the human
body was dense body hair to protect the areas most prone for mosquitos to bite and
transmit disease. Finally, favism is when red blood cells begin to break up as a result
of eating fava beans. The reaction happens mostly to people with a deficiency of the
enzyme glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase. However, people are able to benefit
from favism because it protects them against malaria as a result of it. Researchers
found that children with the African variant of the G6PD mutation had twice the
resistance to P. falciparum, the most severe type of malaria, that children without the
mutation had (Moalem 90). Because favism had altered the shape of the blood cell,
the mosquitoes transmitting malaria had not affected them. Many evolutionary
adaptations have protected humans against getting
The Role Of Calcium Channels In Prostate Cancer
Cancer, the uncontrolled division of mutated cells producing tumours. Likelihood
of developing the disease is increased by a variety of factors such as age, over
exposure to sunlight, certain chemical exposures, etc. Research has shown that there
is a role of calcium channels in cancer. Calcium channels are essential pathways
needed to allow calcium ions to enter the cells of the human body as they are unable
to penetrate the phospholipid bilayer. Calcium is needed in the body for such things
as nerve impulses and the formation of bones and teeth.
Calcium channels in prostate cancer: calcium channel blockers have been shown to
prevent the cancer from becoming more aggressive it has been shown that increased
permeability of Ca2+ channels causes
Food Is A Fundamental Competent
Food is a fundamental competent to all life. A balanced diet provides proper
human development. Living a healthy lifestyle has become a trend in the United
States since the election of Obama. The First Lady has challenged America;
specially the youth, to get out, exercise, and stay healthy. Since healthy has
become a trend many people look for all sorts of new ways to live a healthy
lifestyle. For some picking up a vegetarian diet is a way of being healthy. According
to the Vegetarianism in America study, published by Vegetarian Times, research
shows that more than 7.3 million people in America follow a vegetarian based diet.
With more and more people choosing not to consume meat, the vegetarian market has
grown a lot. Since vegetarianism and veganism have gone mainstream so has
vegetarian food. As a vegetarian, it is important that one attains the proper nutrients
that one misses from not consuming meat based foods. One of the key components
to a vegetarian diet is a vegetable named soybean, also known as the miracle bean.
Soy products provide calcium, protein, iron, and many more nutrients. Since soybeans
can be easily manipulated, they are used formed to be meat textured and flavored to
imamate meat. Some of the main vegetarian brands and products like tofu, Boca
products, and Morningstar products contain soybeans. Soybeans have become very
mainstream and transformed the world of cropping.
Soybeans originated in Asia were they are important part to their diets,
Essay The Rites of Spring by Modris Eksteins
Modris Eksteins presented a tour de force interpretation of the political, social and
cultural climate of the early twentieth century. His sources were not merely the more
traditional sources of the historian: political, military and economic accounts; rather,
he drew from the rich, heady brew of art, music, dance, literature and philosophy as
well. Eksteins examined ways in which life influenced, imitated, and even became
art. Eksteins argues that life and art, as well as death, became so intermeshed as to
be indistinguishable from one another. The title of the book, The Rites of Spring,
and the plunge into the world of the Ballet Russe in the first chapter, made clear that

Germany was, relatively speaking, a new nation; new as a single nation. Russian
contributions to music and dance were new; they did not date back centuries like in
England, France, Germany and Italy. Politically, Germany found herself in a similar
situation. She was new and wanted to make her place among the great powers; she
saw herself as the innovator, a progressive spirit, as opposed to wearied France and
conservative Britain. Eksteins contends that because Germans saw themselves as the
agent of (inevitable) progress, they felt their role in The Great War was defensive
rather than aggressive. To attack Germany was to attack the future. This belief that
they must defend their homeland from those who would deny the future, sustained
the Germans during and after the war, and into the next one. Eksteins realized that
Hitler was not an anomaly; Hitler touched a sympathetic chord within the Germans.
Although Eksteins discussed that any group may want to find scapegoats when
things go wrong, citing the tendencies of the French to look beyond themselves for
explanations of failure, he implies that, in Germany, finding scapegoats produced
such horrific results because preexisting sentiments of anti Semitism combined with
the violence and power of Nazism. His depiction of the vibrant and dynamic, pep

Divorce In Children
In North America, 50% of children will experience their parents divorce. Married
couples get divorced for many reasons. For example, infidelity, being unhappy, and
financial problems are some of the few. Children who experience divorce develop
many behavioral problems that affect them in the future. No matter what age,
adolescents experience feelings of anger, loss, grief, and feeling unloved. However,
depending on the age of the child, divorcecan cause many diverse problems that affect
the child in the future.
Infants from zero to six years old experience similar behavioral problems. From
birth to one year, these children develop separation anxiety and symptoms of
irritability. For example, many younger children feel a need for more physical
contact. Two to four year olds experience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These adolescents are going through puberty so, sometimes the way they view
themselves is degrading. Many children feel that if their parents are getting
divorced that other people look at them with pity. This causes self esteem issues
with many of these children. More times than none, these children experience sexual
outing and bad dreams. Divorce can cause a child to become very confused when he
or she is dealing with their future. Also, these children tend to feel as if they are
unimportant. These children sometimes feel as if they are the reason of their parents
divorce, or their parents do not care enough about them to stay together. Therefore,
they feel as if they are unimportant to everyone, but mostly their parents. Another
example would be how when the child grows up, their trust issues will become a
great factor when they become married. None of these children have any idea what a
lasting marriage looks like and takes. (book pg. 102, author Elizabeth Marquardt)
With this group of children being older, people often start to see more problems in
their behavior and how they present themselves in
Work Based Learning Essay
Work Based Learning Strategies
The types of Work Based Learning Strategies are used as one of our indicators
under the variable Work Based Learning, in order to support and provide its
validity. The following activities are the strategies used by teachers/facilitators in
order to help the students acquire knowledge easily and effectively in a specific area
especially in skill related subjects.
Learning by Observation As cited on Wikipedia, field trips offer the students an
insight in the latest technical advancements and business strategies of an enterprise.

Programs under this strategy are the most commonly available form of work based
learning in the public schools that is designed to assist students in making the
alteration of careers. It features agreements between schools and employers to
provide on the job experiences that relate to a student s career focus. These
experiences are based on objectives jointly developed by school personnel and an
employer within the student s career area. In a typical cooperative education
program, employers provide paid part time jobs in the student s career field. A
teacher coordinator of the cooperative education program arranges placements,
develops a training plan with the employer specifying what the student is expected to
learn on the job, and makes periodic supervision visits to the employer s business.
The employer evaluates the student s job performance in consultation with the
teacher coordinator. Cooperative education programs provide paid work experiences
linked to the career/technology program the student is pursuing. Students work on the
job part time (usually in the afternoon) in a paid position and attend both academic
and occupational related courses during the remainder of the school

The Bio P is an anaerobic pre reactor tank installed prior to the HRAS with the
purpose to remove biologically the incoming phosphorus from the wastewater (See
Figure 2). It has approximately a capacity of 65 Liters.
The (HRAS) reactor is a cylinder tank with a volume capacity of 250 Liters (See
Figure 3). This aeration reactor is fitted with two aeration blowers, which are
providing fine (0 3 mm) and coarse (3 50 mm) aeration. The fine aeration maintains
aerobic stable conditions; meanwhile, the coarse aeration delivers the adequate
mixing to avoid a possible vertical stratification into the system. The total air
supplied per m3 of the tank is 3 m3/m3.d. A DO6441/ T membrane probe measures
the dissolved oxygen levels in the bioreactor and assist to control the airflow to the
bioreactor.
In addition, pH has also been monitored into the reactor using a glass body pH probe
(SP 8000 CD, Sensorex, Australia).
4.2.2 The Settling Tank
The settling tank is a tilted plate clarifier with a volume capacity of 800 Liters. Its
structure has a diagonally modified bottom (See Figure 4). An internal Return
Activated Sludge (RAS) recirculation has being installed to facilitate the settleability
of the Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids (MLSS) in the process. Moreover, it assist
the prevention of growth bacteria on the sidewalls of the clarifier. In order to impart

Analyzing The Processes Of Decolonization And Early Post...
Analyzing the processes of decolonization and early post colony in Africa is a
complex task. Especially when looking through the perspective of different nations
that each followed their own path. Chinua Achebe s There was a Country and
Ngugi Wa Thiong o s Dreams in a Time of War, are both exceptional novels that
grapple with the social and political struggles going on in their respective countries.
They also help explore the complexities of nation building as well as political
conflicts expression in communal form. On one hand, Thiong o s piece is a child s
recollection of his childhood with the lead up to the Mau Mau Emergency and
colonialismin the backdrop. Achebe s on the other hand takes place later in history
and focuses on the political and social struggles that ultimately led to the Biafran war.
Dreams in a Time of War takes a more abstract attempt at telling the story of
colonialism and the conflicts of Kenya. One of the main comparisons the book
makes is that of Thiong o as a person to Africa itself. It looks at how his thirst and
perseverance towards learning and self reliance reflects Kenya s, and Africa s as a
whole, eagerness to rid themselves from colonial rule. This idea comes from an
important scene in the book where at the age of nine Thiong o s mother asked him
if he wanted to go to school; he was so overwhelmed because he didn t even think to
hope of something like that. Despite his initial response, he also realized the hardship
and sacrifice that

that they are receiving offensive e mail per month from a co worker. These are
another reasons why the employer considering to monitor their employee.
Techniques and practices of electronic monitoring range from recording and
reviewing emails, phone messages and internet browsing to tracking employee
attendance, interactions with customers and quality of work. Concerns about
electronic monitoring fluctuate between issues of stress and employee satisfaction,
these resulting from performance and productivity practices and infringement of
privacy rights within the workplace as a consequence of surveillance and tracking of
personal communications at work. There is still a need, however, for privacy in the
workplace. More than ever before, high performance workplaces in the knowledge
age need to provide workers with opportunities for both privacy and interaction.
Workplace Privacy and Employee Monitoring As technology advances, so do the
monitoring possibilities in the workplace; as a result these possibilities will raise the
privacy issue in the workplace. Nowadays, employers can monitor and track many
aspects of their employees jobs, especially on telephones, computer terminals, through

Not only do the major leagues participate in the marketing process but so do the
smaller, minor leagues do as well. Every athletic organization, big or small, needs
sports marketing for its survival. Sports marketing is needed because it helps the
athletic organizations obtain profit, which is needed for survival. For a promotion
to be successful, it must be profitable. And to be profitable, it must enhance some,
if not all, of the following goals: 1. Paid attendance, 2. Corporate tie ins, 3. Sponsor
value, and 4. Media coverage (Helitzer 317). Promotions must increase the number
of people at the event, or paid attendance, it also must enhance corporate tie ins,
which are signs or give a ways at the stadium. Sponsor value, or the value perceived
by the sponsor must also be enhanced along with media coverage. Media coverage is
enhanced by sending the local or national media sources bulletins about the events or
by having press conferences. A strategy that a sports marketer must use is to stagger
the promotional gimmicks throughout the event. If one staggers the promotion, then
the audience is always aware of the event and looking out for the promotions.
Another objective of sports marketing is creating sales. The modern sports marketer
is charged with one simple responsibility: to increase the sources of revenue
(Westerbeek 6). This includes obtaining more sponsors

The beginning of the movie starts out with the main character Cady Heron, venturing to her first day of being at an actual American high school after being home schooled in Africa all her life. Regina feels as if because she has a lot of money and the freedom to do whatever she wants, that she can take advantage of other people who she feels are less than her because of their social status as a nerd or unpopular . During this scene, a critical part in the movie is brought to attention. The Burn Book which is a book that the plastics have put together that features pictures of all the people at their school that they don t like and/or want to get revenge on. Next to their pictures are nasty comments about them, which later backfires after Regina is excluded from the plastics and decides to take Karen, Gretchen, Cady socially down with her by turning The Burn Book into the principal s office. Once she speaks to the principal, she explain how she had nothing to do with The Burn Book and how Karen, Cady, and Gretchen are the sole creators of the book because they re the only ones who aren t in it. Regina then copies all of the pages in The Burn Book , handing out the papers around school so everyone can see the lies and rumors spread about them. This creates chaos throughout the social classes in the school, everyone ends up fighting (mostly the girls) and that s when everyone realizes that their mental representations of other people are just as shallow as the lies and rumors being spread about

In the early 16th century, Spanish Conquistadors overtook the Aztecs as a part of the Age of Exploration. Since then, historians have struggled to define how history should remember the Aztecs. The Aztecs were a sophisticated civilization because of their organized government, intricate religious rituals and memorable traditions. The Aztecs were sophisticated for their organized government. The Aztec government consisted of strong rulers. Their prestigious rulers led them through conquests such as how their ruler, Itzcoatl did in 1427 (doc C). • 4. My First Day Of The Internship I Was Changed The Standards... Journal 1 The first day of the internship I was introduced to the Standards of Procedures enforced at PDGX. The entire day was devoted to the global SOP training which involved reading, presentations by respective staff and quizzes. I am now HIPPA Certified! I also attended other scientist specific sessions and got to know the people who were hired in the month of January. Overall, this day was devoted to documentation. Journal 2 The second session of this internship introduced me to the concept of stock valuation. Here I was assigned my first project to verify, amend and update records concerning stock options. I was also taught the concept behind stock reevaluation and its advantages before a company decides to go public. I was also introduced to methods and formulas used to track stock vesting periods. Journal 3 On the third visit, I had a briefing on the P/L project which involved restructuring the accounts to better project profitability. This reminded me of ABC as we were essentially reclassifying everything to identify cost drivers. Here I had an opportunity to work with one of the project managers. We worked on developing database elements and piloting them in excel. The most I got from this experience was the insight into the services provided by PGDX. I also got to be introduced to names of reagents sequencing activities which ultimately allowed me to grasp the fundamental process associated with the services provided by PGDX. Additionally, I am now aware
  • 5. Cause And Effect Of Gun Control Gun Control and Its Effects. Many people around the United States are victims of shootings, whether they be school shootings, mass shootings, or Terrorist Attacks. There seem to be two common ideas either support or oppose gun control. In the United States, many gun control supporters believe that guns are the reason mass shootings happen while gun control opponents believe that people are the cause of mass shootings. But they both want the people in the United Statesto be safe, whether that is from government tyranny, mass shootings, gun violence, or mental health. Government tyranny is what most, if all opponents to gun control believe and worry about. This is a common occurrence because that is what is commonly accepted as the reason for the Second Amendment. Supporters of gun control believe that the United States is a great country that would never fall to tyranny. But opponents often show the comparison with the federalist and the anti federalist because we often feel the importance of the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights guarantees the right to free speech and free worship along with the right to bear arms. Opponents of gun control also cite how this country was founded on fighting a tyrannical government, and the founding fathers did not want to become what they fought so hard to get rid of ( Gun Control Laws... ). Mass shootings are a controversial subject because many do not want to rush into gun control because they could because anxious from any recent mass shootings. Supporters of gun control believe that taking away assault weapons would solve this but that word was made up in the wake of these shootings . Assault Weapons are made up assault rifles are standard practice for the military as they are fully automatic and have big capacity magazines and are made specifically to do major damage. Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves? ( Habakkuk 1:13 ). Habakkuk 1:13 is an all encompassing verse that illustrates the tragic miss treatment of Japanese Christians throughout the sixteenth and seventeenth century, which is the setting that Shusaku Endo is successfully capturing. An older samurai tells the villagers to turn over any Christians in the village. If not, three hostages will be needed to overturn the informants statement, and they will all need to travel to Nagasaki the following day. Mokichi and Ichizo volunteer to go, and Kichijiro is forcibly persuaded to go through guilt. Before they leave for Nagasaki, Rodrigues advices the chosen to trample the fumie if they are faced with that choice. Father Garrpe is shocked by Father Rodrigues s advice and lack of hesitation to denounce one s faith, which illustrates the beginning of Father Rodrigue s denial of his own faith. After Mokichi and Ichizo were brought back to the village and tied to crosses to die by water punishment, Father Rodrigues questions everything, What do I want to say? I myself do not quite understand. Only that today, when for the glory of God Mokichi and Ichizo moaned, suffered, and died, I cannot bear the monotonous sound of the dark sea gnawing at the shore. Behind the depressing silence of the sea, the silence of God.... the feeling that while men raise their voices in anguish God remains with folded arms, silent (Endo 61). This exemplifies Father Rodrigues ignorance to his own silence, which explains his grief and annoyance with Kichijiro,

The structural perspective aims to defeat lack of activity periods, doubts and dissatisfaction of employees about their role in works and companies in order to make organizations achieve short and long run goals and results, increases their efficiency and maximize performance through specialization and division of labor and suitable forms of coordination, control and working best ways. Overall, the structure frame is the key element for profitable and sustainable organizations. Organizations works best when rationality prevails and they are ready to anticipate and deal with environment issues and other uncertainty problems. As mentioned, the main goal is create coordinate, balance and efficiency organizations which can thrive for many profitable years. Therefore, structure will work as a blueprint (Bolman and Deal, 2008) inside organizations. First of all, it is not possible to take one structure as ideal, whereas the structures are different from organization to organization, because each one has their own identity and strategy. Today, all of them face pressures of globalization, competition and other environment pressures outside and inside the organizations, therefore, organizations cross times where they have to rethink and reconsider new approach, perhaps through restructuring. • 8. Origin ( E.g Time, Place Of Beginnings ) Origin (e.g time, place of beginnings): The Inca was also known as Tawantinsuyu, first appeared in the Andes region of South America throughout the 12th century A.D, the heterogeneous empire quickly flourished through the military power of their emperors. They had their own culture and pantheist beliefs up until 1438, however, the influences of past settlements and the following ninety five years of expansion caused religious beliefs to change and develop significantly. The Inca conquered neighbouring Andean regions which had their own set of religious beliefs, worshipped deities and had unique practices. Nearly all Andean communities participated in the everyday worship of the forces of nature (including rain, lightning, thunder, the moon and the rising of the sun each day) and venerated the earth s physical features (such as snakes, jaguars, rivers and mountains). The peasants among each allyu (a group of extended families) executed these practices for thousands of years. Each allyu worshipped their ancestors, which they believed to originate from the natural world at sacred places called huacas. The Incas built their own temples, sacred sites, took sacred relics from the locals and held them in the sacred land Cuzco to encourage compliance with the Inca beliefs and accept the supremacy of Inti (the most important Inca deity and sun god). Instead of forcing them to completely convert to the Inca state religion, the Incas assimilated the deities, beliefs and culture of
  • 9. Russi A Great And Catherine The Great Russia has seen its fair share of autocratic monarchs as well, such as Peter the Great and Catherine the Great. Peter first ascended the throne as co czar with his half brother Ivan V in the death of their brother Feodore. Their elder sister, Sophia, was the most capable to take the throne. But being a girl, she was unable to do so and could only rule as regent for the two princes turned czars. While Sophia ruled, Peter spent his days building forts on the banks of a river outside of Moscow. He played war games using them, recruiting in boys and arming them with real guns. The games were dangerous; 24 boys were once killed in a single game. But the games eventually paid off, and Peter had himself two self trained armies that he used to overthrow Sophia and rule the throne himself. The regent was forced into an enclosed convent, living as a nun for the rest of her days (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time of Troubles). Life in Russia had changed very little since the Middle Ages. Russia had not experienced a Renaissance and was quite backwards in terms of lifestyle compared to Western Europe. Peter wanted to change all that. He viewed the church as an impediment to progress in Russia, wanting to break their restraining bonds of complex customs and modernize Russia (Russia, Land of Tsars: Time of Troubles). It s time to constrain the authority not proper to the old man [i.e., the patriarch]; God willing, it is for me to reform the laity and the clergy, for them I am both master and

He asked about my day and I told him I did not do anything out of the ordinary but I did have something on my mind and I asked if this was an okay time to have a quick discussion. He said sure and I preceded to tell him about this assignment I have been working on for Communications class. I told him that I could not find many conflicts to write about, but there is one thing that has been bothering me every now and then. I told him that I have not brought it up before now because I feel like it might be too easy to step on his toes and that is the last thing I want to do. Then told him that when he is friendly with Alex I feel betrayed. He gave me a very confused look and I continued by saying that is not about his being friendly as much as it is about my feelings. I explained that I am aware that he and Alex have been friends for a long time and that I did not want to come between that, but after the way I was treated by Alex s wife and Alex did not seem to think there was anything wrong with treating his friends wife that way, I feel like he is against me or not on my side. I went on to explain that when he visits with Alex, I feel like have no one in my corner. These two

The symbol and definition that is currently used for infinity is mostly used in mathematics. The infinity symbol and definition has previously had different meanings, but basic concepts of what infinity represents have remained the same. Throughout history, not only did it represent mathematical thoughts, infinity had religious representation as well. The Upanishad, which were texts recorded by people of the Hindu religion, used the idea of infinity. The scientist Isaac Newton later made contributions to infinity. Isaac Newton produced a theory on small numbers or infinitesimals as they are now known (OnlineClock.net). Although Isaac Newton did put some sense to the idea of infinity, there was still some confusion dealing with the concept of infinity. Galileo Galilei then created the Galileo s Paradox which showed that set of counting numbers can correspond with smaller sets of their squares . (OnlineClock.net). • 12. The Humanistic Theory And The Kubler-Ross Five Stage Grief... This essay looks to explain how both the Humanistic theory and the Kubler ross five stage grief model can be applied to the loss of a limb. It will also be looking at how these theories can help the healthcare team in their care provision. The loss of a limb is a great loss to a person and would be difficult for anyone to comprehend initially and some never can. It affects all areas of a person s life from the obvious physical aspect to mentally/emotionally. Apart from losing a limb they must comprehend the reason why they had a limb amputated, for example through disease or trauma (Healio,2002). The humanistic theory, particularly the work of Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow, has been a great breakthrough within psychology, especially when looking at the emotions, thoughts and behaviour of an amputee. Unlike other psychological theories the humanistic theory aims to look at a person s feelings and to see life as they see it rather than from the perspective of an observer(Mcleod,2015). According to Roger s humanistic theory, every person has the built in drive and ability to be the best that they can be. This means to self actualise. To achieve self actualisation a person needs a high self concept which the theory explains has three main components. These are self image, self esteem and ideal self (McLeod, 2014). The loss of a limb affects a person s self concept. The loss of a limb may make a person feel no longer attractive and deserving of any forms of attention. As their

A family of cats is hiding in a torn box on the edge of the road. You have two options, drive by and believe that they will be alright, thinking someone else will help them. Or two, take a few seconds out of your busy schedule, clean out the back of your car and carefully put the cats in, you know that you don t like cats but are willing to help. Which would you choose if given the option? Think of this: It s a hot summer s day and you are running late for a meeting and your kids are yelling in the back and you spot a dog, just wondering around in the middle of the road, no collar and looks like he s been without food for a few days. Would you stop to help or just honk your horn until he moves? I m betting you say you would help but would you really? In this day and age we don t think much of stray and wild animals roaming our streets and roads. Just a nuisance not really a threat right? Stray animals are a huge problem in our communities today, whether it be from hit animals, damage to houses, trashed areas, or the pile up in our humane societies. I would probably secure a larger area than I need because I can always shrink the perimeter once I begin processing. The second step I would do is once I found the perimeter, I would secure that boundary. And add police officers in various sides on the outside of the perimeter to help keep people away and sabotaging any evidence. In my head, I would do a walk though of the scene to determine the possible strategy or motive. Preliminary Interview Focus The first people I would question would be the group that discovered the body. I would interview them separate and keep them separate, to get the most accurate statements. I would either keep them in separate rooms, or keep them far away from one another in which they cannot hear each other and get influenced on what to say. I... It seems like they were in rush to dump the body and leave or were afraid and wants to rush off the scene. Despite whatever the case maybe I believe there were two perpetrators because there is no sign of struggle or dragging of the victim which mean she was carried and placed. The gun shot had partially blackened residue which leads me to believe that it was a close range gunshot
  • 15. The Effect Of Strain Gauge Rosette Used For Multi Channel... Abstract While calculating the results from the collected data, the thin plate shows non linear behaviour such that stress does not vary linearly with strain. In theory when pressure is concentrated at the centre of a circular plate, stress value decreases with respect to increasing radial distance from the centre. However in this case, we see that there are two principal stresses and they behave differently than one another. This experiment will introduce us to a new strain gauge called strain gauge rosette used for multi channel strain measurement and other equations to calculate principal stresses and strains in a two dimensional state. Introduction For a thin circular plate, stress and strain usually occur in a two dimensional state. As it is difficult to measure stress, strains are instead measured in real life practices and its corresponding stress values are calculated. The most popular measuring tool for strain is the strain gauge. Since strain is the measure of change in displacement over the original dimension of a structure, the measuring tool must be sensitive enough to detect that small change in displacement. Thus, we can learn how to handle sensitive measuring equipment and ways to ensure that the data collected is as accurate as possible and also to omit any errors that will affect the final calculation. Besides that, we can broaden our knowledge on multi channel strain measurements because in reality two dimensional strains are not

  • 30. Summary Of The Supernatural In Macbeth In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, there are many interesting sections which could be concentrated on due to the suspense and the involvement of the supernatural. The supernatural is what causes conflict in the play and the prophecies from the witches in act one scene three is the inciting action in the piece. The supernatural causes the future conflict by motivating Macbethto kill Duncan so he could become king of Scotland. Through temptation, the supernatural motivates characters to think arrogantly and for their own benefit. The supernatural in Macbeth presents prophecies which tempt Macbeth and Banquo with the idea of power. This leads Macbeth to contradict his loyal and courageous personality by planning a treacherous murder on Duncan with the arrogant intention of becoming king and later killing other characters in the play with the only purpose of keeping his own powers. Both Macbeth and Banquo were also tempted by the original prophecies and showed clear motivation to act upon them. However, there is a clear contrast between the propinquity in which the two characters began taking actions and the logic put into their decisions. Macbeth shifts from being loyal and courageous to a murderer executing a treacherous plan to kill the current king due to supernatural suggestions that he would be king himself. Macbeth is discussed as a man worthy of recognition by other characters in act one scene two. In this scene, the Captain states: For brave Macbeth (1. 2. 18). Macbeth is being praised for his courage and loyalty to Scotland and the king. This first impression is hastily contrasted after hearing the prophecy of the witches stating he will be king hereafter (1. 3. 53). The Little Red Riding Hood By Jacob And Wilhelm Grimm Charles Perrault and Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were the authors that shaped The Little Red Riding Hood into what we know in modern literature. Angela Carter, on the other hand, flipped the original message made by both authors upside down. Each of the three authors uses one common theme of trusting strangers too much is dangerous. However, Carter s version challenges that theme by showing the wolves having human moments. And these themes can be explained by the culture that was written in. However, it s also important to understand each of the story s messages to the audience children or adults. Perrault helped establish the theme that would be used whenever some author reimagines the Little Red Riding Hood. The concept of childhood didn t exist back then because education was considered to be a waste of time after working to survive. Perrault makes it clear in the first paragraph where he describes the mother being excessively fond of her daughter while the grandmother doted on her still more (618). Little Red Riding Hood s family spoiled her by being dishonest about the horrors of our world. As a result, the gullibleness of the Little Red Riding Hood led her to get eaten by the wolf because she wasn t able to realize that the wolf was wearing the grandmother s nightclothes. Unfortunately for Little Red Riding Hood, she fell for the charming wolf and it costed her and her grandmother s lives. It goes well with the theme since it tells the readers that people, especially young girls and women, should never trust the wolves who can be charming, quiet, polite, unassuming, complacent, and sweet (620). And that children should always question everything even their own parents for suspicious activities before it is too late. Perrault s theme also relates to the period, where it was published in, because it was written for women in courts so they can look out for any charming man, who

In some cases, one is able to protect him or herself from this disease. For example, sickle cell disease is known to give some form of protection for humans from malaria. This genetic disease is where a human s red blood cells are more crescent shaped rather than round like most people. Parasites in malaria go into the blood cell s membrane and begin to shift the protein. Sickle cell disease is able to stop reshaping and gets rid of the parasite that would have continued spreading (McNiel). Additionally, dense body hair is another way that the human body has compromised to prevent malaria. The hair acts as a type of protection to the layer of skin; consequently, it makes it harder for the mosquito to go through and transmit the disease. Dense hair on the forearms and legs the parts of the body usually exposed even with moderate dress may have been a defence against malaria carried by mosquitos (Moalem 63). An evolutionary adaptation made by the human body was dense body hair to protect the areas most prone for mosquitos to bite and transmit disease. Finally, favism is when red blood cells begin to break up as a result of eating fava beans. The reaction happens mostly to people with a deficiency of the enzyme glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase. However, people are able to benefit from favism because it protects them against malaria as a result of it. Researchers found that children with the African variant of the G6PD mutation had twice the resistance to P. falciparum, the most severe type of malaria, that children without the mutation had (Moalem 90). Because favism had altered the shape of the blood cell, the mosquitoes transmitting malaria had not affected them. Many evolutionary adaptations have protected humans against getting
