Day in and day out, immigrants work hard to achieve permanent residency or
citizenship in the U.S. and live in constant fear. While some Americans understand
that the immigration strengthens the American society by attracting the intellectual
and entrepreneurs, others are taking it to social media to express their humor or anti
immigration feelings saying immigrants are a threat to Americans customs and
values. A few are even attacking immigrant groups with foul language and violence.
One such incident occurred just a few months ago in February, 2017. Patrons at a
Kansas bar kicked Adam W. Purinton, a US citizen and a Kansas resident, out because
he was questioning two Indian bar patrons immigration status and throwing racial
slurs at them. Angry Purinton returned to the bar with a handgun that same night and
shot at the two Indians, killing one and wounding the other. Later in court, the
indictment accused Purinton of shooting the two men because of their actual and
perceived race, color, religion and national origin. Not even two weeks later, an
Indian born man was outside his house in Seattle when an attacker shouted, Go back
to your own country before shooting him in the arm. Incidents like these are leaving
many Indian immigrants worried for themselves and their families. As an Indian born
immigrant myself, I feel the need to address the laborious immigration process, and
some underlying struggles the immigrants face.

Google has one of the best working environments in the world. Google has been the
number 1 best company to work for 5 times in a row, including this year. They have

public places, public land owners can hire their own approved contractors. This
can be seen as neoliberalism. With privatization and individual over collective
responsibility of the issue at hand, this could lead to a whole set of new issues

Gerard Manley Hopkins Poem Summary
Gerard Manley Hopkins employs diction, structure, rhyme, imagery and repetition
in order to impart upon the reader his message; mankind does not understand or
appreciate the grace of God because as a whole they value material things and take
for granted every day, however despite this God s love and guidance continues to
manifest day by day in order to provide for his flock. Hopkins employs the use of
structure in order to emphasise the message of his poem onto the reader. He uses a
style of poem called a Petrarchan sonnetwhich is split into two parts: the opening
octave and the ending sestet. Each of these segments are used in a way to guide
the reader along the poem from the introduction of the problem to the conclusion.
The problem is introduced in the first quatrain of the octave when Hopkins states
Why do men then now not reck his rod (line 4). This line asks the reader why
mankind does not understand and appreciate the power of God. This line from the
opening octave is used to impart the problem upon the reader. The structure of the
poem as a Petrarchan sonnet is used in order to aid the reader in maneuvering the
poem and moving from one major development of the theme to the next, while also
providing a clear separation to emphasise a shift. Furthermore the nature of the
Petrarchan sonnet is extended to the sestet when Hopkins provides a solution to
the problem and concludes the poem in a manner that leaves the reader satisfied.
He claims that nature is never spent (line 9) during the volta which ministers the
change of ideas expressed in the octave to the sestet. The rhyme scheme of the
poem is used largely in Petrarchan sonnets and have a specific goal. The goal is to
connect certain lines together to create a flow and rhythm to the work, and also
connect ideas and further emphasise a shift in idea from the octave to the sestet.
The rhyme scheme in the octave is ABBAABBA which connects the beginning
quatrain and second quatrain of the octave in order to emphasise the way the two
feed off of each other to promote an idea. The first quatrain speaks to the power of
God when it says It will flame out, like shining from shook foil (line 3). This is

accessed without the participation of the public. Unfortunately, a large majority of
the general population does not recycle mostly because of the time it takes to
simply sort recyclables or take to a drop off facility. Therefore, a new system should
be put in place and spread to increase the recyclingparticipation to completely access
the benefits of recycling and to reach a strong level of sustainability. Thankfully, most
people are motivated by money or lack thereof, so a deposit system would motivate
more people to recycle by giving them the choice to make their money back and
recycle or simply lose money. Additionally, this deposit system would motivate the
public because they would simply input a relatively low time cost for a financial
reward. Because of these known motivational trends, the deposit system will
definitively improve the recycling participation rate leading to increased
environmental conservation and a solid level of sustainability. Although the deposit

Food was the main factor to why I judged my body. I love food, but I somehow it

Moral Conflict in the The Crucible Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, is a great
portrayal of humans and their struggles. This play takes place in the 1690 s in
Salem, a small Puritan community based on a rigid social system, where an
outbreak of rumors claiming witchcraft contaminated the small village. The witch
hysteria was initiated by a group of young girls (headed by Abigail Williams,) who
were afraid of being accused of swaying from the strict regulations. This caused
conflict among the people of the community and ultimately resulted in absolute

Here begins the Reverend s inner turmoil. With scrutiny, he looks at himself and
tries to figure out which way to go. Should he continue with what he is doing and
listen to Judge Danforth or should he listen to his conscience? He does try a feeble
attempt to talk to Danforth and explain how the unjust the court actions are, but
again, his inner struggle pulls him back to a more moderate stand. Hale then
decides to persuade the wrongly accused to confess witchcraft. At least this will
save them from death by hanging. He preaches perjury to the people, even though
this is also against their religion. Hale s principles were ridden with guilt and
sadness because of his struggle with himself. Not only does Hale question himself,
and Danforth, but he questions his religion. Near the end of Act IV, Hale tells
Elizabeth that following religion is not worth it if religion can justify the death of
so many innocent people without credible evidence. This is the ultimate reproach,
and Hale ends up leaving after the hangings, with the weight of 19 innocent people
(including the good names of Rebecca Nurse, Martha Corey and John Proctor,)
dead, which rests somewhat on his shoulders. John Proctor a farmer and village

In college basketball players are entitled to entering the draft after their freshman
year in college because of the one and done rule. NCAA does not believe they
should entitled because they want the players to get a degree to secure their future.
Also they are too immature for the things that come with being in the NBA. They
are not fully prepared or developed for the NBA. I agree with the NCAA that they
should increase the minimum of years for a college basketballplayer to enter the draft.

player enters college and plays only one year and has a choice to either leave
college for the NBA or stay for multiple years. NCAA and NBA implemented this
rule because they believe that the players are too young and immature for the

school. Prospects were not panning out and seemed like they needed a year or two
