Enzymes are globular proteins (see figure 1) that can be found in all the living cells.
They can be used as biological catalysts by lowering the energy that the chemical
reaction requires to occur. Certain enzymes only catalyze certain biochemical
reactions and this property is known as enzyme substrate specificity. Living
organisms can produce many different enzymes. In order to further explain enzyme
substrate specificity, a basic knowledge about active sites on enzymes is required.
An active site is where substrates can be bind to the enzymes and where the
biochemical reactions are catalyzed. Active sites can be found on all enzymes. They
are on the surface of enzymes and once the substrate fits into the active site
successfully the biochemical reaction is catalyzed. After the products are released
from the active site, the enzyme can be used again. As has been said above Certain
enzymes only catalyze certain biochemical reactions . However, some enzymes can
catalyze more than one biochemical reaction. This happens when the substrate is

16th President as the liberator of the slaves. DiLorenzo provides convincing
evidence for Lincoln s overt racism as expressed in his documented views on racial
supremacy as stated in his desire to colonize all American blacks outside the United
States (p. 4); Lincoln s views were matched by the majority in the North who used
such tools as state constitutional amendments to prohibit the emigration of black
people into Northern states like Lincoln s home of Illinois (p. 4); and that the

George Orwell in his dystopian, political and social work of fiction Nineteen
Eighty Four (ofttimes printed as 1984), published in 1949 defined the concept of
doublethink via a book in the novel titled The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical
Collectivism, read out aloud by the protagonist, written supposedly by Emmanuel
Goldstein, a leader of The Brotherhood ; generally acknowledged as a fictitious
creation of The Party. The definition in the book states Doublethink means the power
of holding two contradictory beliefs in one s mind simultaneously, and accepting
