to which I ve been informally assigned to is commonly known as the Laurentia
bioregion. This assignment of bioregion is widely accepted, but when looked at more
deeply assigning Vermontto the Laurentia bioregion becomes problematic. There are
seemingly an endless number of variables that contribute to the characteristics and
attributes that one can choose from to define their bioregion, yet those characteristics
can widely vary even within a singular bioregion. Geologic makeup, weather patterns,
soil type, biologic diversity, political influence, human activity, and the natural
processes that occur within any given bioregion must be considered when analyzing
and attempting to assign themselves to a bioregion. Laurentia as a bioregion is one

My first idea came up short, so I decided to try a different approach. Instead of using
a rock as my paper, I thought I would find one I could use as a pencil. It did not take
too long before I found a rock with some good edges I could use to cut and scrape
with. I then proceeded to look for a piece of wood I could record some very deep

located a suitable branch, big enough to write on and small enough to carry around.

ENG 3U1 Valerie Campus Mr. Toffoletti November 11th, 2015 1984 (Nineteen
Eighty Four) Outline Winston Smith is the main character in the book Nineteen
Eighty Four. He falls in love with a girl named Julia which has been forbidden by
law by the party who rule all. The book is set in London, in the city of Airstrip One
which is part of the superstate Oceania. The world is divided into three superstates:
Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia. These three superstate are said to always be in war

Winston is a Thirty Nine year old very closed off person who keeps to himself. He
works in the Ministry of Truth re writing history. Julia is a Twenty Six year old
very open person who rebels against the party whenever she can with no regard for
the rules. Julia is a member of the Anti Sex League and works in the Ministry of
Truth along with Winston but in the Fiction Department. O Brien is a character of
more value towards he third part of the book, it is revealed that he is a prominent
leader in the inner party. He has been following Winston for years and was there
when Winston found his mother dead in a field. Betrayal is a running theme in the
book, Winston not only betrays Julia he also betrays himself. While being tortured
in Room 101 Winston tells O Brien to Do it to Julia entailing that he was betraying
there love. He wanted whatever torture was going to be inflicted on him to be
given to Julia instead. At the beginning of the book Winston tells Julia that there is

Faith is a constant struggle here on earth due to lack of understanding, wealth of
experiences, and influences that sometimes outweigh our own. In the story First
Confession by Frank O Connor a young boy named Jackie is in a struggle of faith.
O Connor uses first person to immerse the reader in the young boy s thoughts and
situation. This young boy must balance his lack of understanding, his own
experiences, and the influences of others to find hope that he can still be redeemed
in his first confession. O Connor sets the scene with a young malleable boy at the
center and a swirl of influences and inexperience to show a struggle to understand

Jackie after being drug to confession, tormented by his own thoughts and the
constant nagging of his sister, was now at the one place where his judgment would
be weighed and finalized. This was the precipice of Jackie s story, the moment of
truth, face to face with the priest who would consult with God and hand him his
penance. Instead of condemning Jackie to hell or sending him to the bishop for
further reprimand, the priest says: Someone will go her with a bread knife one
day, and he won t miss her...You must have great courage Jackie... I ve thought of

Firstly, the league normally starts in August and ends on May. Moreover, the number
of teams in each league is around 18 teams and all of them must play 2 games with
each team in the league, which means a home game and an away game normally 37

This essay will aim to support the idea that throughout history, prisons and other
institutions did not only punish the guilty, but control those otherwise socially
excluded from society by reasons of poverty, gender or social class. (Some of the

The Altar By George Herbert
The Altar Analysis
The Altar by George Herbert is the first poem to appear in The Church. His poems
are a record of his private devotional life. In the poem The Altar , George Herbert
creates an altar, which is also required of Moses in the Bible. He makes the altar out
of his heart and holds it together with his tears. No one alters the tears from the way
God made them. He puts his heart into this altar that he makes to praise God. In
the end, he wants God s sacrifice to be his, and for God to bless the altar that he

Coronary Artery Disease ( Chd )
Coronary artery disease (CHD). Coronary artery disease is characterized by
damaged or diseased coronary arteries, the major blood vessels that supply the heart
with oxygen. The major cause of CHD is atherosclerosis, the build up of fat deposits
(plaque) and other cellular waste products on the walls in arteries that cause further
inflammation and narrowing or complete blockage of major heartvessels. As a result,
the decreased blood flow cause chest pain and shortness of breath. In some cases, a
complete blockage occur and can lead to a heart attack (myocardial infarction).
Usually, CHD develops slowly and patient might have no symptoms until the
complete blockage of coronary arteries and heart attack occur. As happened in Mrs.
S case, she was unaware of extent of her coronary arteries damage. After having a
cholecystectomy, she developed cardiac complications and suffered an acute MI. Any
surgical procedure places and additional emotional and physical stress on the heart
and can cause cardiac complications.
On postoperative day #2, Mrs. S was presented with symptoms of MI in addition to
ECG test confirming the diagnosis. Also, cardiac cauterization was performed and
revealed 88% occlusion of left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD). According
to Santulli (2012), the major risk factors contributing to development of coronary
artery disease are: hypertension, smoking, high blood cholesterol level, diabetes,
