2. The Forces Removal of Children from their Parents in Ayn...
There are just over fifty countries in the world that are currently run by dictators and
the severity of the dictatorship varies from country to country. Some dictators can be
relatively kind in their rule where others can be very harsh. One thing that happens in
these harsh dictatorships is that children are removed from their parents at birth.
Though the reasons for this differ in many ways, three of the most prominent are that
children learn from their parents, it focuses the children on their job or goal assigned
to them, and that there will be favoritism between the parents and the children over
other people.
Passed on knowledge can be a real problem to a fearful dictator. There is a saying,
knowledge is power . This statement is very true because knowledge has the ability
to open the eyes of people to things unseen. It allows for exploration and sometimes
rebellion. The rebellion factor of this is what scares dictators. If children are allowed
to live with their parents, the parents have the opportunity to let the children know
things about the past and what is wrong with the world. If the children knew of this
they might have the ability to stand together and rebel against the government.
The only benefit to removing a child from its home with the parents, is that it allows
the child to become focused on the duty they are given by the ruler. When the child
is taken from the home, they lose the distraction of having a family. They may
become a more productive
3. Plot Of Antigone Plot
Plot Summary: The story takes place in Victorian Era London. Creon is a rich earl
who is feared by many. His nephews, Eteocles and Polyneices, engaged in a duel
over who would be viable to inherit his fortune (which belonged to their father before
Creon). Both were killed. Because Polyneices started the conflict, Creondecided that
he was disgraced and ordered that he be given no funeral or proper burial. But one of
Polyneices s sisters, Antigone, decided that Creon s ruling was unfair and went
behind his back to try and organise a funeral for him.
Act Summary: The undertaker at the local funeral parlor met Antigone when she
arrived, trying to organize a funeral for her disgraced brother. Knowing that Creon
had notified every funeral parlor in the area that Polyneices was to be denied a
funeral, he brought Antigone to Creon s estate, where the two get into an argument.
[CREON stands with his arms crossed, clearly upset with ANTIGONE, who stares
ahead forlornly. Her lavish dress is dirty, as if she had struggled to avoid capture.
The UNDERTAKER still holds her arm tightly.]
CREON
Have you really disobeyed me?
ANTIGONE [eyes downcast, avoiding her uncle]
Well, I see no point in denying it.
CREON [sighs]
Thank you for catching her, undertaker. You may leave now.
[The UNDERTAKER nods and exits the house.]
Antigone, were you fully aware that I had forbade a funeral for your embarrassment
of a brother?
ANTIGONE
Yes.
CREON
So you chose to disobey your own uncle?
4. The Importance Of The Post Office
The United States Post Office was established by the Second Continental Congress
in 1775. The Post Office has been part of American society for almost two centuries
and through the years it has been changing with America. It was an important
method for people to communicate in the past, however, is it relevant in today s
society? The issue of eliminating or keeping the Post Office resulted in a
controversy among the United States. The Post Office should be eliminated due to
the debt the post office is facing each year, more usage of technology, and slow
modifications.
Article 1 of the U.S. Constitution offers the Congress its powers and limits.
According to Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution, which is
known as the Postal Clause, empowers Congress To establish Post Offices and post
Roads. The Postal Clause has been interpreted to provide Congress the authority to
appoint post offices and mail routes. Therefore, Congress has the power to carry,
deliver, and regulate the mails of the United States as a whole.
The first issue the Post Office has been struggling with is accumulated debt. For the
past ten years, the United States Postal Service documented annual losses around
$15 billion. (usatoday) Furthermore, in 2012 the Post Office was unable to pay out
their retiree health benefits of $11 billion. In 2013, the Post Service tried to address
the issues they have been facing in the past, they proposed lowering future Federal

5. Benefits of Using the Phonics Method to Teach Children to...
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn the
more places you ll go. This quote by Dr. Seuss explains the importance of reading.
Knowing how to read is very important to be successful in life. In 2009,a nationwide
study by the National Center for Educational Statistics recorded that sixty seven
percent of 4th grade students, seventy five percent of 8th grade students, and seventy
four percent of 12th grade students were not readingat a proficient level. This will
cause many problems as the child progresses through life and later on to adulthood.
According to the National assessment of Adult Literacy (NAAL), forty three percent
read at the lowest 2 literacy level ( Who Needs Phonics). They will... Show more

Phonics is recommended by over ninety percent of their costumer (Http:/
/learntoread.hookedonphonics.com/why_it_works/homeschooling). Majority of the
customers who endorse this program had significant results. Thus phonics is a proven
and dependable mechanism for young readers. The phonics method is also great for
the economy. Nebraska Sen. requested the U.S department to examine the reading
programs in schools and the outcome was astounding. Out of fifteen phonics
centered reading programs examined, the average cost per student is $30.34
opposed to the whole language approach which cost $214.53 per student ( Whole
Language vs. Phonics ). Also the at home programs like Hooked on Phonics, are
inexpensive too. As stated before, whole language advocates believe words should
be read as a whole instead of breaking the word down, then reading it as a whole
word because that is how proficient readers recognize words (Rayner et al.).
Although that isn t how the brain distinguishes words. There are three parts of the
brain that help read words. The temporal lobe, frontal lobe, and the angular
supramarginal gyrus all act together simultaneously in the reading process. The
temporal lobe is in control of

According to the article The Korean Language in America , Cultural identity is
formed by the complex configuration of one s awareness of one s own culture and a
recognition of the social group to which one belongs in practice. (117). Everyone has
an identity that was created by culture. Everyone have a culturethat they were born
into, sometimes with a mix of two or three cultures. Each culture has different values
and traditions that conflict a person s decision in life. However, having different
cultures make one interesting to learn about and explore the cultures. Cultures define
my life with romance, traditions, language, and friendship.
The autobiography I chose is Korea is My Heart and My Soul, America is My
Mind and Spirit by Leah Lee. It is about a woman whose conflict is with herself, her
Korean and American cultures, and her values. The article I chose is Living in Two

and comparing and contrasting Vietnamese and American cultures. Another article I

7. The Positive Relationship Between Women And Soap Operas
Soap operas over the years have ended up obtaining a bad stigma that even
Modelski says if television is considered by some a vast wasteland, soap operas are
thought to be the least nourishing spot in the desert (128). Most people would
explain them as over dramatic, unrealistic, or even too feminine but Modelski tries
to overcome the bad wrap soap operas have by shining light on the connection she
has seen between women and soap operas. Her point is to not ignore but focus on
what is feminine about soap operas (129). The found connection in this essay gives
a little more of a positive view on soap operas and their viewers. Modelski at the
start points out a disconnect between men and soap operas, giving the example of the
Phil DonahueShow. While airing on the topic of handicapped Vietnam War Veterans
and their experiences Donahue interrupted the conversation to assure his audience
(comprised of almost entirely women) that he was not giving them soap opera. As
though it may seem like a male just trying to reclaim his heterosexuality once
again, which was in fact what was going on, it also shows the special place men put
themselves. They place themselves above the soap operas, the gushy emotional and
disconnect with the drama the soap operas contain. Soap operas weren t made for
men, so they place it below them trying to make exceptions for themselves when they
are giving a soap opera.
Within Modelski s essay she asserts the typical setting in a soap

s...
In a following speech Hamlet s disposition towards the world persists, yet his
attitude towards death has undergone a transformation. Previously, Hamlet was quick
to proclaim his desire to die, but by the third act he s become uncertain. This
hesitation becomes apparent in Hamlet s To be or not to be speech (3.1.56 90). With
those opening words, Hamletdebates whether he should exist or not. The fact that
this is still a question for him shows that he continues to be displeased with life.
Hamlet asks himself, Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows
of outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing
end them? To die to sleep. This reveals a new concern that Hamlet has, he doesn t
ask what is best for him to do, but rather what is nobler, which makes it apparent that
he s concerned with maintaining his character. Even though he maintains the desire
to escape the world and the experience in it, he still cares about the image that he
leaves behind. Subsequently, Hamlet uses war like diction, comparing life to war
with slings and arrows which makes life intolerable. This just reaffirms the ideas
Hamlet has had throughout the play, however, a shift transpires when he mulls over
the idea that deathis like being asleep. A problem arises when he realizes that even
when you sleep you experience, To sleep; perchance to dream: Ay, there s the rub.
This could be easily misinterpreted as Hamlet hoping to dream, but perchance
9. Music Therapy For Children With Autism Spectrum
Disorder
There is an art in this world that we live in, which could possibly help a person
who is autistic to cope with everyday functions in life. This special kind of
creativity can help some children on the autism spectrum with regulating behaviors,
help them cope with anxieties and frustration, and improve focus and attention. This
art may also help a child to socially interact with their peers. May also help a non
verbal child to open up and begin to communicate, whether it would be verbally or
non verbally ( New Hope for Autism: Music Therapy for Children with Autism and
Asperger s Syndrome ). Now imagine that you were a parent who has a child with
deficits such as these and has tried numerous treatments with no beneficial results.
You would be ecstatic to hear this information and would want to know what this art
is and how to receive it. Music therapy is the art that will be discussed in this paper
and the beneficial effects it has on children on the autism spectrum.
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or Autism is a developmental disorder that affects a
person s everyday life. Some deficits may include communication (verbal and
nonverbal), social interaction, and repetitive behavior. People with ASD may also
show signs of motor coordination issues, intellectual disability, and physical health
issues. There are 1 in 68 American children on the spectrum ( What Is Autism? ).
Parents are always trying to find treatments that may help relieve these children from
their symptoms.
10. Comparing Revelation On The Relationship Of Church And
State
Paper 1: Comparing Revelation to Eusebius on the Relationship of Church and State
After reading chapters twelve through thirteen and seventeen through nineteen from
the book of Revelation, I have attained knowledge that allows me to see how the
author of Revelation perceives the Roman Empire. From the beginning of chapter
twelve it is clearly portrayed that the woman who is in the sky, about to give birth,
is meant to symbolize Mary the mother of Jesus, or even Israel, the birthplace of
Jesus. The Dragon of course, represents Satan. When the Dragon is thrown down to
Earth due to its repulsive actions of trying to harm the woman s baby, it decides to
make war against the faithful Christians. As the story progresses in chapter thirteen, a

Overall, the Roman Empire is perceived as an evil given its unruly authority and
power from Satan himself. Rome s relationship with Satan (the Dragon) is viewed as
a partnership. Satan and the Roman Empire both wanted to persecute Christians, and
Satan provided Rome with the opportunity to do so by giving them such power and
authority over everything. Men worshipped the dragon because he had given
authority to the beast, and they all worshiped the beast (Revelation 13:4 New
International Version). Although Rome pretty much had this partnership with Satan,
God/Jesus was and is still in control and that s what chapter nineteen in the book of
Revelation reassures for its readers. After this I heard what sounded like the roar of
a great multitude in heaven shouting (Revelation 19:1 New International Version).
This is a victory song and also assurance to the persecuted Christians of Asia Minor
that God is still in control and always will be and that everything will fall into place
when the time is right and when he plans for it to. God defeated the whore of
Babylon and therefore defeated the Roman Empire once and for all.
I believe that there were major social and historical factors that played a crucial role
in influencing the writing of the book of Revelation due to the fact that there was so
much past heat between Christians and the Roman Empire. There were several
11. Differences Between Thermisol And Thalidomide
Thermisol and Thalidomide: Is There Correlation? In our modern world we think
that everything is out to get us. Supposedly the things that were invented to help us
survive are now the cause of some horrible birth defects. The same thing has
occurred about sixty years ago with the drug called Thalidomide. My goal is to
show the correlations between the medical scare of Thalidomide and how people are
reacting the exact same way towards the vaccinations. Thalidomide started in
Germany in 1957 as a calming medicine for pregnant women. As time went on they
discovered that the uses for it could also be used to alleviate morning sickness. After
this new use was discovered, it became an over the counter drug available to
everyone. Shortly after the drug was available to the public five thousand to seven
thousand infants had been reported to be born with phocomelia, which is the
malformation of limbs. Only about forty percent of these infants survived.
Throughout the world over ten thousand cases had been reported and only fifty
percent of those cases survived. As you would expect from such side effects, this

after thimerosal was removed from vaccine, autism rates steadily continued to rise
and there is no scientific evidence that proves that exposure to thimerosal causes
12. Irish American Culture
My ethnic group is Irish American. I am very grateful to be an Irish American
because I know the sacrifice that my grandparents had to make to leave Ireland to
come to America was a difficult but beneficial sacrifice. Without both of their
brave decisions to come to America, I would not be here today. Both my grandma
and grandpa came over to America as young adults but they did not know one
another. My grandma has three sisters, but only one of her sisters came to America
with her, while the other two sisters chose to stay in Ireland. My grandpa died
before I was born thus I do not know much about how he came to America. My family
has strong cultures when it comes to our Irish Americanheritage. The strongest
culture in my family is the cooking of Irish food. My grandma often makes her
signature Irish soda bread, which is a family recipe that was passed down to me. I
hope that in the future I will make Irish soda bread for my children to continue on
our culture. Although my family always celebrates our culture, we celebrate being
Irish Americans the most on St. Patrick s Day. Every year for St. Patrick s Day my
family makes authentic Irish cuisine. For breakfast, my family makes potato
pancakes, Irish bacon which is thick pieces of ham, black pudding, and bangers
which are thick sausages. My dinner, my family makes corned beef, braised red
cabbage, and potatoes. As my family gathers for St. Patrick s Day, there is always
Gaelic music playing in the background for the

Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth. John F. Kennedy. I
believe that this quotes encapsulates the main theme that Siddhartha and The Life of
Pi are try to get across. Conformity is a constant battle, in which the characters learn
more about what will make them achieve happiness. In Herman Hesse s, Siddhartha
and Life of Pi directed by Ang Lee the main characters both experience different
levels of conformity. The noveland the movie share similar goals, in that they
challenge the main character into difficult life choices, in which they find themselves.
Siddhartha and Pi find their way in life by facing adversity, fighting clashing of

At the beginning of the novel we see foreshadowing of Siddhartha s constant tangle
with conformity when it states Govinda knew that he would not become an ordinary
Brahmin... or just a stupid sheep amongst a large herd (Hesse 4). This relates to the
fact that Siddhartha doesn t want to go through the motions of what the Brahmin s
are trying to teach. Rather he wants to find his self fulfillment which he can only do
by not conforming to ways that make him who he is not. The first instance of this is
shown when Siddhartha confronts his father about leaving the house saying With
your permission, Father, I have come to tell you that I wish to leave your house
tomorrow and join the ascetics. (Hesse 10). At first his father rejects his son s notion
to leave, but after time has passed and Siddhartha remained where his father rejected

The African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) on the surface is an effective
fighting force in Somalia; however, the success of AMISOM is contingent upon
Ugandan participation. The existence of AMISOM is due to a long Somali history of
political / economic instability and the current struggle against the Somalia based
terrorist organization, Al Shabaab. The overall objective within Somalia is to
eliminate or at a minimum contain the Al Shabaab threat. The creation of AMISOM
assists the Somalian Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and its allies to
effectively target Al Shabaab while using the United Nations(UN), European Union
(EU), and African Union(AU) backed AMISOM as an umbrella organization.

well as paying the total of AMISOM troop salaries. Currently, members of the EU are
considering the amount to which that financial backing can be increased, given that
the Union is already financially burdened with several projects in the region, and the
funds initially reserved for AMISOM will not be enough to cover the costs sustained
by the increasing troop ceiling. The new EU Resolution 2036 (2012) states, It is
therefore vital, as stated in the resolution, that new contributors pledge to join the
European Union in providing financial support. The EU is active with the UN on
international initiatives set out by the UN Security Council Resolutions on
eliminating piracy off the coast of Somalia. Piracy acts have been occurring
simultaneously with the instability in Somalia, further strengthening the motives for
a stable Somalia.
The AU operates AMISOM with the approval of the UN and is headquartered in
Ethiopia. They face many tasks which include health issues (AIDS/HIV epidemic),

to their website, one of the objectives of the AU is to promote peace, security, and
stability on the continent. This objective directly aligns with eliminating the threat
posed by Al Shabaab.
Due to these instabilities within Somalia, it was essential for the UN, EU, and AU to

15. Essay on Gilbert Ryle’s The Concept of Mind
Gilbert Ryle s The Concept of Mind
Gilbert Ryle s The Concept of Mind (1949) is a critique of the notion that the mind is
distinct from the body, and is a rejection of the philosophical theory that mental states
are distinct from physical states. Ryle argues that the traditional approach to the
relation of mind and body (i.e., the approach which is taken by the philosophy of
Descartes) assumes that there is a basic distinction between Mind and Matter.
According to Ryle, this assumption is a basic category mistake, because it attempts
to analyze the relation betwen mind and body as if they were terms of the same
logical category. Furthermore, Ryle argues that traditional Idealism makes a basic
category mistake by trying to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are no mental processes which are distinct from intelligent acts. The operations
of the mind are not merely represented by intelligent acts, but are the same as
intelligent acts. Thus, an act of remembering, dreaming, knowing, or willing is not
merely a clue to some hidden mental process or intellectual operation, it is how that
mental process or intellectual operation is defined. A logical proposition is not
merely a clue to a particular mode of reasoning, it is that mode of reasoning.
Ryle rejects the doctrine that the will is a faculty within the mind, and the doctrine
that volitions are mental processes which the human body transforms into physical
acts. Ryle explains that this doctrine is an example of the myth that mental acts are
distinct from physical acts, and of the myth that there is a mental world which is
distinct from the physical world. This doctrine of separation between mind and
body is referred to by Ryle as the dogma of the ghost in the machine. Ryle argues
that there is no ghostly, invisible entity called the mind inside a mechanical
apparatus called the body. The workings of the mind are not an independent
mechanism which governs the workings of the body. The workings of the mind are
not distinct from the actions of the body, but are conceptualized as a way of
explaining the actions of the body.
Ryle argues that, according to the traditional theory of the mind, mental acts are
regarded as causing and
16. The Ron Clark Story
The Ron Clark Story is such an inspirational movie in my opinion. I feel that this
movie shows what dedication in teaching is all about. It shows that teachers care
and have chosen their career in order to make a difference. Ron Clark was an
outstanding teacher who was said to be able to raise test scores in any schoolhe taught
at. However, instead of choosing a simple, private school that already has high test
scores, he chose to teach in an area where students were really struggling. He chose
to help those that really needed it. The Ron Clark Story, in my opinion, is all about
how much of a difference teachers can really make. I believe that teaching
excellence comes from two different things, dedication and the desire to help
others. Teachers who are dedicated to their students and classrooms are definitely
going to be excellent and never give up at what they do. Teachers who have a great
desire to help their students and their career will continue to do everything they can
to make sure their students receive what is needed. The two characteristics that
make an excellent teacher are dedication and the desire to help others. I believe
dedication is important when teaching because if a teacher is not dedicated to his or
her classroom, then how will their students learn? If a teacher is dedicated to the
class, then I believe that they will excel at making sure their students are receiving a
tremendous education. Dedication is all about never giving up and devoting a large
amount of effort to whatever is being done. If teachers never give up on their
students and devote their greatest effort in helping their students succeed, then I
believe they will excel at teaching. I also believe that an important part to be an
excellent teacher is the desire to help others. If a teacher did not have the want to
help others, then obviously, it would be difficult for them to help students succeed.
Students need help, it should be a teacher s number one priority to help their
students. Some may not ask for help and some may need more help than others,
however, teachers who get angry or annoyed with students when help is asked of
them, will not be successful. Therefore, desire to help others is very important when
17. Annotated Bibliography On Dna Replication
Question 1 a) DNA replication is the process, where a cell passes this DNA
sequence onto other cells when it divides. It is known as mitosis as it must
duplicate its genome so each new cell has a copy. This occurs during interphase.
For the duration of DNA replication the enzyme DNA helicase are significant as
they distinct double stranded DNA into single strands letting each strand to be
copied. DNA polymerase is another important enzyme that starts attaching new
corresponding nucleotides to these patterns. It is done according to the base
pairing rules, A=T, C=G, G=C and T=A. Once the new nucleotides are attached,
two new sister DNA strands are formed same as the original strand. The result is
two identical strands, each of which is half new. b) mRNA is a translation of DNA

Each of the codons codes for a particular amino acid. For example, each codon is a

that will reveal codon and amino acid number. For example, CAT CTA ACC CCA
GAG GAG = 6 amino acids. c) Sickle cell anaemia GTA GAT TGG GGT CAC CTC

Separation of Liquids by Simple Distillation and Analysis by Gas Chromatography
Methods/Background:
The purpose of this experiment was to separate two volatile components from a
mixture due to the different chemical properties of each compound. The mixture used
in this experiment was ethyl acetate (EtOAc) and butyl acetate (BuOAc). The mixture
containing two liquids will be separated by a separation procedure known as
distillation. This method relies on each compound having a distinct and separate
boiling point. In order to see if two liquids were separated, the pure liquids will be
analyzed with gas chromatography to determine the success of the distillation.

This was done by using common lab method known as simple distillation, which is
used to separate a volatile liquid from a non volatile liquid, and also to separate
two liquids that have boiling point differences of above 50 oC. The boiling point
of any liquid is obtained when the total pressure above the liquid is equal to the
atmospheric pressure. Other objective of this experiment was to learn how to use
the Gas Chromatography to check whether the two components in a mixture
successfully separated. The results of the calculated GC percent composition
indicate that the two components were not successfully separated by simple
distillation, but it was very close to the calculated percentage composition. This
may be because the boiling points of the ethyl acetate (77.1 oC) and butyl acetate
(126 oC) are not that far apart, and simple distillation shows positive results if the
two liquids boiling points differ by greater than 50 oC. The second reason could
be that enough fractions were not used. There were higher chances of separating
two components fully if more fractions were used. As indicated in data tables 1 and
3, approximately 91% of ethyl acetate and about 99% of butyl acetate composition
indicates that the distillation was quiet an efficient and successful. The butyl
acetate has a very high boiling point and longer retention time because of its more
Van der Waals interactions. However, the ethyl acetate has a lower boiling point
and a faster retention time in the GC because of its weaker bond interactions.
Therefore as indicated in the data table 1, 2, and 3, ethyl acetate has a higher affinity
for the mobile phase in the gas chromatograph and it moves faster. Moreover, only 28
mL of mixture was collected in the distillation process rather than 30 mL. This may
be due to the higher temperature the mixture

20. Death Valley Essay
Death Valley is a native American reservation located in Utah and approximately a
30 minute drive from the Army s Dugway Proving Ground, a military installation less
than 100 miles from Salt Lake City, Utah. On the early morning of March 15, 1968,
thousands of sheep within the town started showing signs and symptoms of an odd,
peculiar disease; they were unable to come to their feet and without the ability to
keep their necks straight, soon after, they were lying dead in the farms across the
town. This incident, which became known as The Dugway Proving Ground Accident,
generated national attention, in an era marred by public political unrest and an
American public highly suspicious of their government. The majority of Death Valley

There has been a lot of speculation, but significant efforts by Utah State University
and the Department of Agriculture scientists have not been able to name an exact
causal chain association between the testing conducted on March 13 1968 and the
deaths of the sheep. Filled with emblematic value in the state of Utah, the Dugway
sheep incident is constantly raised up at public hearings as one of the main reasons
the people of Utah have not trust in the Government and more specifically the Unites

Super Pig Stops Bank Robbery Friday afternoon, a bank robbery occurred on West
Elm Street. 3 criminals who the police would not like to give out any names were
robbing a bank. When they entered the bank they each held up a gun and demanded
as much money they could put in their bags. A panicked customer in the bank called
the authorities. When the authorities were alerted they immediately called Super Pig

Who would be willing to raise more children after already raising eight of their

Kate Brownell worked as a nurse, did extensive volunteer work, and raised 8 kids
before becoming a foster mother. Brownell has touched and improved many lives and
is a true hero.
In Brownell s five years of fostering she has helped many people. When asked why
she wanted to start fostering she told me, I wanted to be a service to children who
needed to be cared for and give them hope. Brownell raised her own family and then
decided to start the fostering process. She fostered around 6 kids in her five years
and faced many challenges. In the words of the Common Questions, if a person can
nurture and love a child without receiving anything back, foster parenting might be
something they want to look into. Even when the foster children were not always
pleasant, sometimes even calling her names Brownell would continue to care for
them and treat them with kindness. To Brownell all the hardships she faced were

The dictatorship of Big Brother and the American government, both use similar ways
to monitor their citizens, but they have different reasons for it. Big Brother wants to
closely monitor his citizens so they are obedient by fear and the American
government watches their citizens to protect them and their rights. They do this
through televisions, spies and surveillancecameras. In the beginning of the novel
1984, the reader is introduced to how the governmentunder the dictatorship of Big
Brother is administrated as well as how it runs its citizens. Not only are the people of
Oceania suppressed, but they are also audited through whatever means deemed
necessary by the government. They are even watched through their televisions.
Because of this the main character, Winston Smith, placed his television on a wall in
his house so Winston was able to remain outside the range of the telescreen, so far as
sight went. This is where Winston writes his qualms with the government down in a
diary. Furthermore, the CIA, has been said to have the capacity to break into our
everyday consumer electronics.... The USA Today article goes into further detail by
stating that, CIA hackers could break into iPhones, Android phones, PCs running
Microsoft Windows and Samsung smart TVs, and exploit the microphones inside
such electronics, (TVs are allegedly spying on you, Baig). It has been argued that
this is a violation of privacy, but others state that it is merely for protection. In

27. Gun Ownership And Crime Essay
The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of gun ownership on crime
rates within a population. In the United states Gun ownership is at an all time low.
The percent of households owning one or more guns went from 42 percent in 1993
down to 31 percent in 2014 (Smith Son, 2015). As gun owner ship has shown a
steady decline in ownership, so has crimeover the years. According to the UCR

to a low of 747.1. While correlation does not equal causation and there are far too

outweighs the homicide producing effects of criminals who own guns. This paper
will take a deeper look at cities, such as New York City, Chicago and of California,
with the strictest gun ownership laws to see how the crime rates have changed in
accordance with laws that have been passed. A comparison will also be taken at
places with the most lenient gun laws to contrast crime rates. The hypothesis of this

violent and non violent crimes decline. The following research will try and find
validity to that statement or if the opposite is true. Then recommendations will be
made in accordance to the findings of this research.

the counselee to confront his depression and say No to others and beside God, put

he is not complying to their needs he is not doing the will of God; when in
actuality he is only doing busy work if not lead by God. Mr. Peter Jones needs to

29. The Russian Financial Crisis of 1998
Introduction
A financial crisis can be characterized by the rapid decrease in the value of financial
institutions or assets. It is also common for investors to panic and withdraw money
from their savings or sell off investments in anticipation of the depreciation in their
value. This can be clearly seen in the Russian Financial Crisis of 1998. In the midst
of making the transition from communism to capitalism, the Russian economy
experienced more trouble than it had anticipated. This became not only a fiscal issue
but also became very social and political. The people of Russia experienced
exceptional hardships. This paper will illustrate the major shocks to the Russian
foreign exchange reserves. These shocks include the Asian Financial Crisis of
1997 and the decline in demand and price for Russia s top exports. The role played
by foreign investors in the crisis and what effects these players had on the
devaluation of the ruble will be analyzed. The Russian Financial Crisis of 1998
caused the devaluation of the ruble and ultimately forced the Russian Central Bank to
default on its own debt. The government s attempts at saving the country from crisis
were in vain and lead to the call for resignation of President Boris Yeltsin.
Background After 1991, Russia decided to make the move from communism to
capitalism. This was projected to bring prosperity in Russia, the likes of which had
never been seen. This move by President Boris Yeltsin meant that he renounced his
affiliation
30. Research Paper On Beowulf
A Legend. We all know one when we see one. The principle request is what is the
one thing that makes some person a legend? Properties of what it means to be a
legend are exhibited all through Anglo Saxon focus qualities. A champion amongst
the most prestigious works from that time period is Beowulf. The story tells us of
how one man, Beowulf, sails to the rescue of King Hrothgar and his kinfolk
remembering the final objective to extra them from a horrifying beast that is
undermining their lives and additionally their way of life. The warrior Beowulf
without a doubt demonstrates characteristics of an epic legend through valor,
dedication, generosity, family relationship, accomplishing something of amazing
worth, giving people a suspicion that all is well and great, and being sharp.
In any case, Beowulf showcases his chivalrous nature through his valor every single
through greetings venture. Conventionally in the midst of his epic excursion, he is
not hesitant to be overcome in every condition. One delineation from the story is, So
Beowulf picked the mightiest men he could find, the most courageous and best of
the Geats, fourteen taking all things together, and drove them down to their vessel
(119 122). This exhibits his dauntlessness in light of the way that he was the head
man for the Geats. By picking the mightiest and boldest people, Beowulf mirrors that
he himself probably been fundamentally more overcome to have the ability to lead
his respectable people. Thusly in
31. Mind Body And Common Sense, Values, And Decision...
Mind Body, Common Sense, Values, and Decision Rationality
Is the mind part of the body, or the body part of the mind? If they are distinct, then
how do they interact? And which of the two is in charge? (McLeod, 2007) The
mind body connection is about understanding how what we think and believe and
how we choose to act in the world as a result of how we think and believe causes
certain types and kinds of biological conditions to arise in the body. The relationship
between what we think and believe and how we choose to act as described above is
the essence of the mind body relationship. However, it goes much deeper that what
is described. The concept of the mind body connection goes well beyond what we
choose to do in the external world. (Ferlic, 2008) The mind body connection is
about how and what we think and believe create our experiences and create the
reality we experience at each and every level of our being including the body and the
conditions of the body. Thought power is the key to creating your reality. Everything
you perceive in the physical world has its origin in the invisible, inner world of your
thoughts and beliefs. (Connection between Mind and Body, 2015)
My position in the matter is this: The mind works with the body, and vice versa. The
body doesn t act or react, without the mind s leading. Our reality is powered by our
mind s processes. The connection of the mind and body, is that whatever happens,
affects the other. This means that what we think

Following the establishment of fasting blood glucose levels subjects in the oral
glucose tolerance test consumed a 10 ounce beverage that contained 100 grams of
glucose. Over the next 2 hours subjects repeated the same method as used in the
control test to test their blood glucose levels 4 more times. These 4 tests were
conducted at 30 minute intervals and all readings were recorded for later examination.
Physical Exercise Test After recording their fasting blood glucose levels subjects in
the exercise test group transitioned to the gym. At the gym each individual engaged
in 45 minutes of moderate exercise. Although no strict controls were put in place to
regulate the type or intensity of exercise conducted individuals generally engaged in
a reasonably strenuous amount of exercises. Most individuals conducted either
cardiovascular exercise such as running and biking or strength training such as
calisthenics or weight lifting. Immediately upon completion of the exercise period,
subjects returned to the laboratory to conduct a second blood glucose test. Utilizing
the same method as described in the control test the subjects examined and recorded
their post exercise blood glucose levels. All data from both sets of tests were then
compiled and recorded in a Microsoft excel file. The results were then examined by
calculating the mean and standard deviation for each set of data. In order to test our
null hypothesis, the results of the oral glucose tolerance test were

35. The Uc Davis Student Health And Counseling Services
Most often than not health is used synonymously with wellness. It can be assumed
that when a person is healthy then they are well. Thus, wellness and healthy can be
used interchangeably. The UC Davis Student health and counseling services explains
that wellness has eight dimensions: occupational, emotional, spiritual, environmental,
financial, physical, social, and intellectual. Each dimension of wellness is interrelated
with another and they are all equally vital in the pursuit of optimum health. Health s
the body s ability to adapt to a variety of stresses or challenges maintaining a state
of equilibrium that is physical, mental, and emotional. Based on the following
information it can be easily reasoned that health should be considered a basic
human right. Difficulty accessing healthy food based off of geographic location,
denied access to healthcare treatments based off of individuals economic capacity,
and denied access to health care based off of where a person is born should not
happen. Health does not consist of one concept but rather a combination of
comprehensive subjects that form the cycle of everyday life.
Health education provides its population with the necessary knowledge and tools to
help increase overall health, shape attitudes, and ultimately hopes to change behavior
(WHO, n.d.). Health education is advocating, promoting, teaching, and setting an
example of well being for all human beings regardless of ethnicity, social economic
status, race, and

intentional or bring unwanted consequences. Although each of these sacrifices are
different, whether it s a sacrifice of a relationship, a character s faith, or the more

Veldt by Ray Bradbury is a book set in the future, in which your house can virtually

What is so special about our humanity? As human, We can express ourselves
however we want, We know the differences between right and wrong, and equal
does not mean that we have to act exactly the same. But it does mean that i have the
exact same rights as you, and should be treated with the same amount with the same
amount of respect and dignity you would want to be given. It should not matter what
you look like, where you from, your gender, or who you love.
We are all different and that should be respected. Everyone should be treated equally,
because violence against women is unacceptable, because the LGBT community has
gone through so much crap but they always thrive, because undocumented
immigrants are treated like human garbage for coming into a country to build a better
life for themselves and their families.
Women are 90 percent of rape victims in the united states, and 13 percent of rape
victim survivors will attempt to commit suicide. Women ages 16 to 19 are four
times more likely to be raped than the general population. Imagine that a 16 to 19
year old girl at school or at a party or somewhere. She is getting sexually assaulted
by a man that probably has 100 pounds on her, and she is lying there helpless and
now imagine that this sweet girl that was just assaulted is your child. She does not

because she is ashamed that she could not stop it, or she tells you everything, and they

Around the globe each individual has a different definition of what a city is to

city seen as a place, for income which can help support the family leading them to a
better future and perhaps even immigration; for these citizens is the city a place
for trade and markets or somewhere where you can only dream of going to. Where

A city has a diverse range of people who come in and out of the area day to day.
People come from near and far, whether it is a 5 minute walk, to a 10 hour flight.
With this diversity also lies another diversity, which is the purpose of their visit and
the area of expertise in which they hold. Maybe it is coming here to gain

Lead by Example: Reality or Fiction?
Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive good things, and people will
be drawn to you. Mary Lou Retton says, driving home a topic brushed by schools
and parents. Happiness is something that everyone strives for and without a goal so
large many things would be completely meaningless. To some people happiness is
an amazing house with cars and money but to others, happiness is a loving, healthy
family, a roof over their heads with clothes and food. When a large figure in
society or even a community shows their beliefs through examples, it is hard not
to follow or at least be interested. When something interesting is going on with
hands on parts, or even just a couple jokes it makes a big difference. In a classroom,
the teacher is looked at as the person in charge. For seven hours a day our younger
generations are greatly influenced by five or six people more and more every day.
Do we put too much trust in these people? Many teachers love their jobs and
thoroughly enjoy broadening students horizons through education. In a chemistry
class, a teacher can hand out assignments and require hours of book readings every
week over a chapter with a test at the end. With a ... Show more content on

If your friend jumped off of a cliff, would you do it to? We watch and judge
everyone around us whether we see it or not. When the little kid gets bullied in the
hallway it is not just one or two people, it is a whole group and they are all
following the examples of one main student, the ring leader . All it really takes is
one student to stop this horrible chain. What everyone does not see, is that the kid
they are bullying will one day be the man looking to hire them because of his
intelligence. One kid though, sticks up for him, and he will grow a friendship through
the process, and many people will follow his lead, growing a circle of friends they
will all look back on one day and
41. Essay On Cetaceans
Unlike others who may be writing on the medical aspects and applications of
mammalian genetics, such as specific types of cancer genetics or stem cell
differentiation, my topic will discuss perhaps the not as applicable, but by no means
less interesting radiation, biodiversity, and phylogenetic relationships among
cetaceans. This topic is of major interest to me because of my fascination with the
origin and evolutionof life on earth. When I was younger I had an ambition to
become a paleontologist and study prehistoric life, particularly dinosaurs. I am now a
biochemistry and genetics major, but my interest in paleontology is still very much
present. The reason I chose cetaceans rather than some other group or clade of
mammal, is because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ungulate hypothesis had morphological evidence based on cerebral blood
circulation that indicated a link between Cetaceans and Artiodactyls (even toed
ungulates).1 It was also hypothesized that another group of extinct mammals, the
mesonychids, were the direct ancestors of modern whales. Mesonychids were a
taxa of large and carnivorous ungulates. The evidence that led to this hypothesis
was based on the teeth of mesonychids being similar to the teeth of early whales,
called archaeocetes.1 Phylogenetic analyses done in the mid 2000s as well as the
discovery of hind limbs in archaeocetes that lived around the same time as
mesonychids, have since shown this hypothesis to be false; mesonychids, however,
are considered still a sister group to the cetaceans.1,2 As mentioned above,
phylogenetic analyses revealed that mesonychids were not the direct ancestors of
cetaceans. Similar phylogenetic analyses also revealed that the closest living sister
group to the modern cetaceans are the artiodactyls, which include animals like the
giraffe and hippopotamus. More specifically, a sister group relationship was proposed
between Cetacea and Hippopotamidae by analysis of the cytochrome b gene
sequences that included cetacean and Hippopotamus DNA.3 This analysis showed
that there was a relationship between the two groups, but it would be deemed
artifactual due to factors such as convergent evolution due to a
42. A Survey On Data Mining Classification Algorithms
A Survey on Data Mining Classification Algorithms
Abstract: Classification is one of the most familiar data mining technique and model
finding process that is used for transmission the data into different classes according
to particular condition. Further the classification is used to forecast group
relationship for precise data instance. It is generally construct models that are used to
predict potential statistics trends. The major objective of machine data is to perfectly
predict the class for each record. This article focuses on a survey on different
classification techniques that are mostly used in data mining.
Keywords: Data mining, Classification, decision tree, neural network.

Classification contains finding rules that partition the data into disjoint groups
patterns and process. The goal of classification is to evaluate the input data to
develop a precise. Explanation or model for each class using the features by using the
present data.
2.ARCHITECTURE OF DATA MINING
Data mining and knowledge discovery is the name frequently used to refer to a
very interdisciplinary field, which consists of using methods of several research
areas to extract knowledge from real world datasets. There is a distinction between
the terms data mining and knowledge discovery which seems to have been
introduced by [Fayyad et al.1996].the term data mining refers to the core step of a
broader process, called knowledge discovery in database. Architecture of data mining
structure is defined the following figure.

Data cleaning: Data cleaning or data scrubbing is the process of detecting as well as
correcting (or removing) inaccurate data from a record set. It handles noisy data it
represents random error in attribute values. In very large dataset noise can come in
many shapes and forms. And irrelevant data handles the missing and unnecessary
data in the source file.
Data integration: Data integration process contains the data from multiple sources.
