How Julia Has A History Of Diabetes
Presenting Problems Julia, age 30, has recently been admitted to the inpatient psychiatric unit by
police after an episode at the nearby pub. Julia began drinking and ordered several rounds for
everyone at the pub. After had refused to pay her bar tab, she became loud, defensive and belligerent,
knocking over beer bottles and threatening the bartender and all the patrons present. She was shouting
that she knew the Chief of Police and that she would be able to get him to arrest the bartender and
other patrons who were staring at her. Julia attempted to flee the scene, but was then detained by the
police and put in restraints. Her appearance is disheveled, clothes are dirty, and hair us unkempt. She
is currently agitated and restless. Relevant History Julia has recently moved to Philadelphia from

Age Of Exploration Christopher Columbus
The Age of Exploration was a period of time from the 15th to 17th centuries where explorers started to
explore new lands and territories in order to find new trade routes. Europeans went west to explore
and claim the new world for their countries. The renaissance influenced these explorers to find new
lands and the reformation also influenced European explorers to spread their religion and try to
convert others to Christianity. Some of the most influential and key explores in this time period where
Christopher Columbus, Henry Hudson and Hernan Cortes.
Christopher Columbus was the one of the most influential explorers in the Age of Exploration. He was
the first European to explore the Americas. Columbus set off on his journey south from Palos Spain
with 3 ships. He believed that he would reach the edge of Japan in 10 days if he sailed west to
uncharted territory. Instead of being on the water for 10 days, he was on the water for about 30 days
and he found the americas. He landed in the bahamas and then claimed it for Spain. Christopher
Columbus should be viewed as a villain in history because he killed millions of the native Americans
with disease and overworking them. He captured thousands of natives and made them into slaves. He
also set in motion the Africans being put in the slavery. Even though he discovered the Americas he
murdered many lives. Christopher Columbus be a villain in history because of his horrible actions
towards the native people.

Vaccines Are The Tugboats Of Preventative Health
As stated by Dr. James A. Shannon of the National Institutes of Health, The only safe vaccine is a
vaccine that is never used (Shannon). In order to stay safe, vaccinations for children should not be a
requirement because it diminishes the values and beliefs of various religions, is used for profit only,
and the risks associated with vaccinations are life threatening. However, these reasons do not
outweigh the benefits of being vaccinated. As stated by William Foege, Vaccines are the tugboats of
preventative health . In regards to preventative health, vaccinations should be given to children to
prevent them from diseases that could potentially inhibit their future and the generations
beyond.Vaccinations do more good than harm, prevent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After surveying pediatricians throughout the United States, 70% of parents are using their pro choice
option and not vaccinating their children. The same survey provided information stating that 4% of
pediatricians do not vaccinate their own children. These pro choice beliefs are often biased upon
political beliefs as well. Such theories can be seen in conservatives. Conservatives are pro choice and
are wary of the information provided to the public (Rabinowitz). Taken into consideration, political
beliefs are a combination of religion, morals, and other political influences. Stereotypes have not been
associated with pro choice political parties. This lack of stereotyping has allowed pro choice views to
become more of a norm. Therefore, the pressure to vaccinate the child is not evaluated as a lack in
human judgement, but rather a difference in opinion and beliefs that allow parents to not vaccinate
their child. The second debateable topic is that vaccinations are just for profit, not for safety. This
refusal is linked to the beliefs that vaccines are not safe, vaccines have ultimately killed children, the
government protect the pharmaceutical companies, and that pharmaceutical companies are just
personally profiting from vaccinations (Gullion). Such profits can be seen when looking at the ACIP.
The ACIP recommends which vaccinations the states should mandate. In return, the board members of
this organization receive profit. Therefore,

The Importance Of Victory In College Sports
Week 2 of the college football season has come and gone, and what a week it was. Several teams
needed comeback efforts to achieve victory against less formidable foes, while other programs pulled
off compelling wins against stiff competition. Below is a recap of the most significant storylines from
week 2 of the 2015 college football season. Most Significant Victories Michigan teams come up big!
The Harbaugh era is officially underway. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh captured his first
victory as Wolverines head coach with a 35 7 victory over Oregon State Saturday afternoon. Had
Harbaugh dropped his initiation in Ann Arbor, Maize and Blue fans may have been seen shopping for
Scarlet and Grey. Ok, that s probably a stretch, but Harbaugh s first victory as Michigan s head coach
showed Wolverine fans what they can expect as long as he s at the helm Winning. It could take a
season or two for Harbaugh to bring Michigan back to prominence, but the fiery khaki savant has a
proven track record of turning teams around. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
5 Michigan State exacted its revenge on No. 7 Oregon after falling to the Ducks a season ago.
Saturday, the Spartans held on for a 31 28 victory over the Ducks, keeping their College Football
Playoff hopes alive. The Ducks certainly aren t out of their playoff picture, but a looming matchup
between Michigan State and No. 1 Ohio State is now the most anticipated matchup of the college
football season. The victory also painted a thin coat of credibility onto the Big 10, which doesn t
appear to be the strongest of conferences this

St. Andrews And The Royal And Ancient Golf Course
The next day left the hotel and drove about 15 miles to St. Andrews and The Royal and Ancient golf
course. Compared to the all the other places where we stayed on the trip, the hotel where we stayed
just outside of St. Andrews could at best be described as so so. It was sort of like an older motel in the
USA, but it was clean and reasonably comfortable and the dinner that night and breakfast the next
morning were good. Well, I should preface the latter comment and say I tried the Scottish traditional
breakfast of haggis , and I could not swallow the first bite. No one told me it was made primarily with
lamb, and I will not eat lamb under any circumstances.
After breakfast, we headed out to St. Andrews and the Royal and Ancient Club the Mecca of golf.
When we arrived at the clubhouse, we found out they were having a board meeting that day and we
would not be able to play on the Old course, but we could go to the New course and not have any
problem getting on at that course. The first thing we had to do was rent some clubs because neither
brought clubs on the trip. So, we went to a small shop not far from the course and rented some clubs.
Playing golf in Scotland is a little different from playing golf in America. The noticeable differences
are the height of the rough and the depth of the sand bunkers. The rough is almost knee high and sand
traps and bunkers are about 6 or 7 feet deep and reinforced with a brick retaining wall. Well, we got to
the club, the

William Bradford and Thomas Morton
In the New World Bradford and Morton were both important men of our history. The stories of both
great men give us an insight into the way religion and influence affected Puritan life.
William Bradford said he believed, Plymouth people were the chosen people to live out their last days
in the earthly church (Daly pg 560). Puritan settlers came to the new world seeking a better life and to
get away from the rule of the Catholic Church they wanted to become a primitive Baptist church like
in the Old Testament. The Puritans wanted to live their lives in Old Testament biblical way of life;
when the settlers came to the, New England they thought they had landed in God s country (Callicott).
They thought they were the chosen ones the new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After reading various papers on the Puritans it is hard to imagine just how against any showing of
sexual pleasure was even forbidden between man and wife, much less frolicking with Indian women.
Although that was probably not something that was widely accepted, it was not against the law.
Morton called the drinking and songs with the red and whites harmless and Bradford called the pagan
ways.
Morton felt that Bradford s, accusations were more from fear of what he did not know and understand
and was not truly backed up by fact (Daly pg 564). Could you imagine the kind of world we would
have today if everyone spend this much time and effort on who slept with who? I am not saying that
people should just sleep around with people like trying on clothes, but unless you are hurting someone
just go your own way.
Bradford felt that Morton was an enemy against God (Daly pg 565). Bradford called Morton s conduct
Lord of misrule , and Morton felt like it was harmless fun (Schoenberg). His maypole festivities
smacked of folk superstitions and pagan practices; his consorting with Indian lasses violated their
sexual and racial taboos; his hospitality to indentured servants threatened their labor supply and social
order; and his trading of guns for furs not only stole the beaver and deerskin trade away but it also
armed their deadly enemies, who became a terror unto them, who

Example Of Observational Learning
The topic that I chose for this week is observational learning. Observational learning is learning by
others and imitating their behavior (Griggs, 2009, p. xx). Observational learning can help us when we
want to learn how to play sports, drive a car, or even learn to write letters. There are numerous things
we can acquire through observational learning. Many of us watched our mother and grandmother
bake, or even just cook when we were younger. We picked up many of the things that they did, this is
another example of observational learning.
We also learn attitudes and behaviors through observational learning. There are good models of
behavior. Models such as how to act appropriately in certain situations. On the other hand, there are
bad models. Those little negative traits, and habits we pick up from watching others. Often times we
hear people say: He/she did not have proper home training. This comes from ... Show more content on

If you have ever made a face at an infant and watched them try to imitate it, this is the observational
process at work. The same with a toddler who sees his parents folding laundry. Later the child will
grab some clothes and pretend to be folding them. A young boy watches another boy on the
playground get in trouble for hitting another child. He learns from observing this interaction that he
should not hit others (Cherry, 2016).
There are several factors that influence observational learning. They are attention: The person must
have their focus directed at the model. Retention: The observer must be able to code, and store
patterns so the data can be retrieved. Motor reproduction: Kinesthetic and neuromuscular patterns are
practiced with successive iterations until the model s behavior is approximated by the observer (
Albert Bandura Observational Learning, 2016). Lastly reinforcement and incentives: These send the
learner in the direction of wanting to pay attention, retain, and recall the action in

A Harbinger Of Danger And Discontent
A Harbinger of Danger and Discontent We collect the content and other information you provide when
you use our Services, including when you sign up for an account, create or share, and message or
communicate with others (Hachman). Each day people live with a false security that they are
protected and maintain a sense of privacy. Citizens misplace their trust in social media and technology,
and divulge their personal information in ignorance of the repercussions that may arise. Users say the
advances in technology and social media will not affect their privacy; however, it is proven that these
advances can be a harbinger of both danger and discontent. Our nation is built upon its foundation
from the United States Constitution and its Bill of Rights. Included within this governing document is
the Fourth Amendment, the laws and guidelines that gives the people the right to privacy. Within in
this amendment, it is stated that the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers,
and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated (Magruder s American
Government 772). Despite the fact that these right are clearly stated and profound, recent advances in
the scopes of technology and social media have violated the people s privacy by deceiving them into
thinking they are protected. It is shown, that one of the most prominent sources that prove a danger
toward privacy, is through social media, specifically Facebook. This site alone

Stanley Kubrick s Dr. Strangelove Essay
Review of Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
Stanley Kubrick is infamous for his witty films that satire governmental and societal actions though
history. In this film, Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964),
Kubrick is once again directing a film that is a biting, sardonic comedy that pokes fun at the nuclear
fears of the 1950s. The screenplay for the movie was written by Stanley Kubrick and Terry Southern,
and was based on the novel Red Alert written by Peter George. In this film, which is classified as a
black comedy/fantasy, technology runs amok and takes over society and mankind. The irony of the
situation, however, became apparent when shortly after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another such loaded name is Jack D. Ripper, which is the name of the US Air Force s Strategic Air
Command s Commanding Officer. The name is symbolic of an infamous English serial killer. By
placing this name with a senior commander in the US Military, Kubrick is attempting to show the
bloodlust that he perceived the US Military s higher levels to have during that time towards the USSR.
Yet another suggestive name is the name of another General in the US Military. This symbolism is
slightly more subtle, because buck signifies a male animal, and turgid is a word meaning swollen. This
name shows Kubrick s suggestion that the US Military had an inflated sense of self worth during this
era. These names serve to both show the director s opinions of individuals and systems of the time
period, but also makes the connection in the viewer s mind from the male obsession with sex to the
male obsession with war.
The next vehicle Kubrick uses to convey his thoughts on the matter is distortion of history. This is not,
however, a vulgar distortion of history intended to misinform the viewer. Instead it is a purposeful
distortion of history through which Kubrick can present a hypothetical situation in order to get a point
across. In factual history, nothing of the sort ever happened as it is portrayed in the movie. In fact,

Victorian Themes Of The Conventional Victorian Ideas In...
The conventional Victorian ideas are supported in Goblin Market . This is seen in the representation of
Laura and Lizzie. They have to be careful in how their actions might be perceived, You should not
peep at goblin men. / Lizzie covered up her eyes, / Covered close lest they should look (Rossetti lines
49 51). A power struggle between men and women is established in Goblin Market ; all men are
represented by the goblin men, Laura and Lizzie signify all pure innocent females. In the beginning
the struggle is barely perceptible. The men tempt and tease the girls to taste their fruit; however, the
struggle becomes more obvious when Lizzie returns to the goblins to purchase some fruit for Laura;
the goblins try to force her to sit and eat the fruit with them, but when she refuses the goblins cuss and
hit her. The struggle is resolved by Lizzie. She stands up to the goblin men and resists their
temptations, initially they try to trap her and when that does not work they try force. She triumphs by
remaining strong.
Goblin Market is a moral fable of sin and redemption because the fruit represents sin. The goblins use
the fruit to tempt the young girls. Laura is persuaded to try it; however, she has no money and is
coerced to give a part of herself, You have much gold upon your head, / ... / Buy from us with a golden
curl. (123 125) Laura succumbs to desire and develops an obsession for the fruit, I ate and ate my fill,

Summary Of Short Story By Rabindranath Tagore
Through the story, Tagore is primarily concerned with criticism of social behaviour, which he
condemns without didacticism but also without complacency. Women, in Tagore s short stories is most
often a living dead, a known person whom society deprives of independence. At first subjected to her
father, then to her husband, and at last to her son. They are caught in a conflict between the individual
aspirations and social demands. They are torn between self expression and social stigmas (
psychological and material ). In the story, the writer deals with a contrast between good and evil,
innocence and experience, life and death. He blends in it the techniques of psycho analysis and being
unconscious factors (forging a short span of death) to interpret her existence at social and personal
levels. The author leads the audience to participate emotionally in the protagonist s conflict with her
own unconscious experience. He aims his audience to achieve a state of awareness, which implies
both an intellectual perception of the wholeness of situations and more importantly emotionally
behaviour of the turmoiled life. The story also maintains the impact of Aristotle s theory Catharsis as
by the catastrophic end of Kadambini, the audience is purged of the emotions of pity and fear . Tagore
s short stories divulge in many psychological emotions which are acknowledged through his
characters. His main interest is the inner man , the sou l or the psyche of the individual

Athletic Scholarships Essay
Athletic Scholarships
There are many good athletes in professional sports today. There are many good athletes in college
sports today also. Some of the biggest names in sports are Mark McGwire, Steve Young, Michael
Jordan, Allen Iverson, and so on. Now, imagine if all of those players never made it to the pros. What
would happen to professional sports? Why are they in the pros now? To make it into professional
sports you need more than just talent. You need opportunity. College scholarships not only give
athletes the opportunity to reach the professional ranks, but also give the chance for many players to
earn a degree in higher education. Many people dream of being a professional athlete. Some people

After it s done baking, the final product is a delicious cake. The cake can t be complete without it

pros without attending The University of Southern California(USC) on an athletic scholarship or
Michael Jordan without attending North Carolina, Allen Iverson without attending Georgetown
University, or Steve Young without attending Brigham Young University? To earn a spot on a roster,
you can not miss a step in the process of getting there. A college scholarship is a giant step. Along
with college scholarships being a step to making it into professional sports, it is also many times the
only way for some people to earn a college degree. College is very expensive and can many times run
young adults into a large debt once out of college. For example, USC can cost up to $25,000 a year to
attend. That includes tuition, books, parking, room, and board. At the end of a 4 year term at USC, the
total comes out to about $100,000. That $100,000 is excluding other living expenses such as gas, car
payment, car insurance, clothing, and general spending money. Not only is that figure contained to
USC but can be easily applied to Georgetown, Brigham Young and The University of North Carolina.
That s a very expensive education and not everybody has the luxury of spending that much money.

Bits And Kanta Character Analysis
Poverty introduces a massive issue around the world for millions of people. Jess Walter and Razia
Sultana Kahn hit on this problem strongly from two different cultures in their stories. In Anything
Helps and Alms both characters find themselves impoverish, without families, and struggling to
survive by manipulating other to benefit their situation. During both Bit and Kanta s journeys through
their lives of poverty, they find ways to keep their spirits high. Bit, from Anything Helps, finds himself
on the streets again begging for money when a man in a gold convertible Mercedes drives up next to

(301 Walter). Bit knows he has nothing to lose at this point in his journey, so any pride he has left he
forgets and show so much self pity. By doing this Bit manipulates these people because by definition
is to control or influence a person, and he did that making the parents pity him and getting them to
take the book. Unlike Bit, Kanta manipulation technique does not to help other she cares about, but
only to help herself. Kanta has a deal with Salma to go spy on her husband, and when she finds out the
true about the husband she hides that from Salma using it to her advantage. After leaving Salma s
home Kanta does not wait for the money that Salma promise[s] her, because the money she gets from
the husband is sufficient enough for her (256 Khan). Kanta gets money from both parties making her
financial status grow with full control over the rate of money she gets. She manipulates these people
to benefit herself because this is the best way she has found to support herself with a steady income.

Sign Miracle Paper
February 19, 2014
Introduction: In the Gospel of John there are eight miracle signs that are recorded that are performed
by Jesus in this Gospel. In the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) the Prince of Life doesn t
show or give any miraculous signs to prove his authority. In the Abramic religions, these eight signs
are actual events from the beginning of His ministry with the turning of water into wine to the final
miracle of a miraculous catch of fish after the death and resurrection of Christ. Jesus performed many
other signs in the presence of His disciples which are not recorded in the book But these are written so
that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah the Son ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The aim of this sign was simple belief and the first real sign of salvation. If you just believe in Christ
you will be saved, the man didn t question Jesus, he believed that the Lord could and would heal his
son and because of that belief and faith it was so. This miracle reveals Christ power over space
because He did not travel to Capernaum but just spoke the words and he was healed.
Healing of a Lame Man: There was a man who had been lame for thirty eight years and lay by the
pool every day waiting on someone to carry him to the pool of Bethesda. The pool of Bethesda was an
annual tradition or even myth that whoever got to the pool first, after the water in wrestled by an
Angle of the Lord they would be completely healed. The name Bethesda means house of mercy , and
its waters were thought that under certain circumstance to have certain powers. The pool of Bethesda
was a long rectangular used to clean animals about to be taken to the temple for sacrifice. The water
was two to three feet deep and according to tradition, was left filthy by animals. From the edge of the
pool down to the water was twenty to thirty foot long. The man was unable to get into the water by
himself, so he was there a very long time. Jesus asked the man if he would like to be healed, and told
him to get up, at once the man was healed, he picked up his mat and walked. Jesus performed this
miracle on the Sabbath and did things that the Pharisees could not do.

Human Rights Act And Discrimination In Canada

The World War I At The Time Known As The Great War
World War I, at the time known as the Great War, was a global war that happened mainly in Europe
where the Allied Powers, formed mainly by France, Great Britain, and Russia, were against the
Central Powers, formed by Germany, Austria Hungary, Italy, and the Ottoman Empire. Someone who
doesn t have a thorough knowledge about the War would be quick to say the causes were economical
or ideological or that the direct cause was the death of Franz Ferdinand of Austria Hungary but it is
more complicated than that. Franz Ferdinand s death was nothing more than a detonator. Although

Militarism, on the other hand, is the belief or wish of a government or people that a country should
maintain a strong military capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend or promote
national interests. During this time European countries increased their military might far beyond what
was necessary for a strong national defense; a large standing army symbolized power. This made easy
for a government to immediately use the force when any dispute broke among nations. Finally was the
Slavic brotherhood between Russia and Serbia. They have common ancestry and origin. Russia
responded to that bond by backing up Serbia. This is very important because if Russia wouldn t have
joined the war, it would have been only between Austria Hungary with Germany s support and Serbia.
The main economical causes were the second industrial revolution and the Balkan Wars. The second
industrial revolution brought a rise in the economy due to all the new inventions and discoveries. One
of the most important was the petroleum industry which begun in Scotland in the late 1840s. Also, the
increase in steel production meant that rails could be built at a better price and with a much more
durable material. This revolution brought the increase in many technologies used in World War I like
the gas bombs which would burn the lungs of whoever inhaled it.

The Objective Of This Project Is To Find An End User...
The Objective of this project is to find an End User Experience Tool (EUX) to monitor our client s
devices to better diagnose current issues and prevent future ones. There were many instances where
our executives were out of town and their devices stopped working and there weren t any tools to
prevent something like this to happen before hand or diagnose the reasons. With a EUX tool, we will
be able to monitor and diagnose any occurrences, track, and report any trend issues and prevent issues
like this from happening as often. Phase 1 Planning On the initial phase, all planning will be assed.
Time, budget, and project implementation will be discussed and accordingly planned for the entire
project. Major milestones will be documented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pilot machines will be monitored and worked for a few days until we feel comfortable and
assured we are familiar with the program and it is working properly as we planned and expected.
Phase 4 Deployment Deployment will start once all testing if finalized. A deploy package will be built
by the team and all deploy systems will be gathered ahead of time to be included in the package. The
installation will be a silent install, client will be pushed to the select devices with no interference to the
users. Once deployment is completed, a report will be generated by the program with the completion
and failure status. Phase 5 Final Presentation and Closing After all reporting comes back positive,
software is up and running, reporting, and executing as is supposed to, a final meeting presentation
will take place to give a final report status and close the project process. A meeting with stakeholders
will be scheduled, a final presentation will give them a project status, execution, results, and
completion. A 99.9% ration acceptance will be needed to finalize and complete the project. Once that
is completed, all documents, steps, logs, and processes will be archived for future use and auditing
purposes. Project will be closed once all these tasks are performed and the final and next phase will

Why did others seek to conquer this land and make their mark in history on it? Who were the travelers
who came to discover this strange land back in the days when others were hesitant? Perhaps it is the
famous cuisine which blends a twist of Mediterranean met with a kiss of French. This paper will give
you an insight deep look into Morocco and all of the elements that make this country so great. It will
also offer a strong in depth look into the future of Morocco in the next coming years. Geography
Geographically, Morocco in itself is not all that big, as the size of it is one tenth larger than California
(French, 2010). It has borders to the north of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. You can
reach other countries such as Spain from the strait of Gibraltar which is on its far northern border. One
simply has to take a ferry boat that runs in the strait to get to from Spain into the city of Tanger in
Morocco. From this point you simple can hop aboard the national rails ONCF that connect Tanger
with other famous cities in Morocco such as Casablanca, and Marrakech. It also borders Algeria to the
east. To the west is another border Morocco possesses with the Western Sahara, Morocco has held an
on again off again occupation since the 1970. This would very much so be considered a border dispute
and depends on who you talk to within the country. This

The True Cause Of Violent Behaviors
The True Cause of Violent Behaviors in Today s Society
There are volumes of media that are starting to harm the world in which we live. They have been
linked to fourteen mass murders (Fletcher). Nine out of the top ten selling games have been labeled as
violent and 42% of adolescents play them ( Children and Video Games ). These violent video games
are a major problem in the United States and across the globe. Violent video games have a direct
correlation with negative behaviors because they increase anger and aggression in young people,
decrease prosocial behavior, and have unfavorable effects on a teens daily life.

If people are viewing the world as a hostile and violent place then they are not able to grow and
develop relationships with others in their lives. They are gaining beliefs that their life outside of
violent video games wants them to fail, and that society is unable to understand their way of life.
Violent video games are destroying the possibility of relationships between people. 90% of video
games portray violence. Our brain sometimes doesn t distinguish between what is real and what we
see on TV (Barclay). This is a scary realization because it shows that what we watch and play on TV
can have a very harmful effect on our lives. Our brain is sometimes unable to recognize what is real
and what is not, which in turn will not be able to help determine when a violent situation is occurring
and when one is not.
Violent video games do not promote prosocial behavior between humans. Violent video games have
contributed to fatal actions. Mika Brzezinski said, It s kind of hard not to make a connection [between
games and the Navy Yard Shooting] when you hear [the shooter s] friend saying that he would watch
on a life size screen these violent video games for hours and hours and hours and hours and hours
(Kain). Violent video games are being linked to many of the mass shootings around the United States,
specifically the Washington Navy Yard shooting. Instead of helping each other some violent video
game players are turning to guns and weapons, which is

Cuckoo s Nest Figurative Language
Throughout Ken Kesey s, One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest, the creation of character constructs and
application of textual techniques demonstrates how the status quo is challenged. Kesey effectively
reinforces this idea through the employment of a collection of stylistic techniques. Kesey implements
diverse literary techniques to establish how the status quo is introduced, challenged, and how it
ultimately withstands the rebellion. Kesey uses figurative language to illustrate the idea of the status
quo. Kesey effectively employs the schizophrenic narration of Chief Bromden to demonstrate his
message on the blurring of reality. He utilizes the illusion and metaphor of fog to explain this idea, and
to personify protection and safety. To guard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kesey demonstrates the impact of a self sacrificing, healing influence on the ward, through the
construct of McMurphy. He becomes this Christ like figure to the patients because he makes it his
responsibility to counteract the control and oppression of Nurse Ratched. Kesey uses this symbol
through all aspects of the text. In the aftermath of his final rebellious act, McMurphy sacrifices his
own needs for the lives of others, looking dreadfully tired and strained and frantic. After his death, the
character construct of McMurphy Is still impacting and influencing the mental state of the remaining
patients. Although McMurphy sacrifices his own life for the sake of others, he successfully challenges
the status quo, and unhinges the very basis that it was founded upon:

The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
Critical Analysis: The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde In the novel, The Strange Case of Dr.
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson demonstrates the battle between good and evil that
occurs within the individual. The novel is essentially an allegory for the internal struggle between
these two sides of the human personality. The story is centered around a chemist named Henry Jekyll,
who composes a concoction that allows him to shift between his typical, well mannered self and an
alternate evil identity that allows him to give into his sinful pleasures. In their critiques on the novel,
Joyce Carol Oates and Henry James discuss Stevenson s presentation of good vs. evil, as well as the
significance of his message on the subject. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
James states that it is not so much the profundity of the idea which strikes [him] so much as the art of
the presentation the extremely successful form. James s praise of Stevenson s writing is warranted.
Though the struggle between good and evil is not so much an original idea, Stevenson s portrayal of
this age old conflict is what captivates the reader. James goes on to state that in the novel there is
genuine feeling for the perpetual moral question, a fresh sense of the difficulty of being good and the
brutishness of being bad, but what there is above all is a singular ability in holding the interest.
Stevenson s story is an intriguing one that keeps the reader uncertain until the very end. The novel
portrays both sides of man s nature in a way that highlights the features of both good and evil by
offering perspective on the subject from the same man in both forms. Jekyll himself states that he was
no more [himself] when [he] laid aside restraint and plunged in shame, than when [he] labored...at the
furtherance of knowledge or the relief of sorrow and suffering (Stevenson 61). It is this open honesty
from the main character at the end of the novel that not only enthralls the reader, but also offers fresh
insight into the human condition in a unique

Observation Of A Child Observation
Over the past few weeks I have observed a child in the twelve to eighteen month old category.
Throughout this paper I will refer to him as Z. I had five different observations, each for one hour at
the West Chester Area Day Care. I sat in classroom seven, in a little chair in the corner writing down
everything I observed about him. It was interesting to learn about Z as I watched him interact with the
adults and other kids that were in the room with him. Z caught my attention right away in the
classroom. He was very active, walking around while the other children were mainly sitting or only
crawling. This lead me to choose him to observe for this project, and focus on his physical movement
and interactions with others throughout this paper. Z was always moving around, the only time he was
ever sitting still was when he was placed in a height chair for snack time. He switched between
crawling and walking. Most of the time he would walk, but then he would fall down and continue to
wherever his destination was by crawling. I noticed one day he was holding a maraca and walked for a
longer period of time than usual. According to (page 183 infants children and adolescents), it is easier
for them to focus on their balance when they are holding onto an object. He demonstrated the ability t
squat down and picking something up, before returning to a standing position. The adults encouraged
his walking behaviors, so when the group came in from the outside playground, they would let him
walk in, while most of the other kids were being pushed in the giant stroller. The average age for most
kids to begin walking is 11 months and 3 weeks, the range being 9 to 17 months, so he his definitely
on track for his age group (182). He was also able to climb up onto things. For example, when the
children were brought on walks around the neighborhood there was a giant stroller that they rode in as
mentioned earlier. Z got up the step and turned himself around to sit down in the seat. He did the same
thing on some of the steps on the playground, crawling up one and turning himself around to sit.
Walking up stairs with help is achieved on average at 16 months, so he appears to be on the right track
towards that motor skill. A baby s

Thomas Hardy s Tess Of The D Urbervilles
The Victorian Era allowed England to become one of the most balanced and established countries
through the reign of Queen Victoria. The civil service system created labor laws, universal education
for children, and even enriched its population with the right to vote. Despite an increase of meaningful
reforms and additional welfare for the England s citizens, the interpretation of religion in the country
began to alter as well. The actions of parliament and the Victorian Society had enormous effects on the
people and the way they viewed English society. Thomas Hardy s novel, Tess of the D Urbervilles,
depicts the consequences of uncontrollable forces on the lives of the Christians through the form of
tragedies during England s Victorian Era. The society of England in the 1800 s changed drastically
through the rule of Queen Victoria and even changed the country s views of religion and class
divisions. Thomas Hardy, born on June 2, 1840, in Higher Bockhampton, Dorset, England, was the
eldest son of Thomas Hardy and Jemima Hardy. His mother influenced his love of reading and
writing, ultimately impacting his future career. Hardy grew up in a mostly rural lifestyle and his only
primary education lasted until he was sixteen years of age, before departing to become an apprentice
of John Hicks and follow in the footsteps of his father. Hardy s first choice was to become an Anglican
minister, but later changed his mind as he lacked interest in religion and did not possess the money

Fetal Pig Research Paper
When society thinks about starfish, perch, chordate, and fetal pig they become extremely curious
about how their bodies operate because of how they are made up. I will give a brief synopsis of all

composed of true vertebrates and animals having a notochord (dictionary.com). According to research,
a fetal pig is an animal in the phylum Chordata and class Mammalia (dictionary.com). A perch is
known to be a certain kind of fish with very spiny fins (dictionary). Starfish, perch, chordate, and fetal

Jumpstart Our Business Act Case Study
Introduction Before 2008, the financial services industry experienced record growth and companies
leveraged their portfolio to take more risk. One of the largest failures in financial services was the
2008 collapse and bankruptcy of 158 year old Lehman Brothers. Bear Stearns, Merrill Lynch, and
Lehman Brothers had poor credit risks and loose liquidity requirements as did most companies during
this period. The difficulties in the housing market led to an aggressive number of mortgage defaults
and created a catastrophic scenario. The financial services model needs repair, and the enactment of
the Jumpstart Our Business Act (JOBS Act) signals a new era of alternative financing. Group Capital

The Criminal Justice System and its Corrections Essay
The criminal justice system is composed of four categories: law enforcement, legal counsel, courts,

the corrections part of criminal justice usually refers to the events that occur after being sentenced in a
court of law. During the past few decades many problems have arisen in this area, solutions have been
discussed and put into use over the years as well. However, there are still problems that are being dealt

Many programs have been initiated to help the problems of overcrowding and negligence. These
include education, rehabilitation programs, work release programs, and other preventative measures.
Numerous education programs are offered to inmates. Some prisons even mandate the completion of a
GED if the offender never finished high school. Many colleges in the prison s community partner
together with each other to enable higher learning as a possibility for offenders to obtain college
credit. These services help inmates succeed in an inmate s preparation to reintegrate into society with
less chances of being arrested again. Offenders that are more prepared to leave prison are not as likely
to commit a crime which improves the safety of the public and also saves money from taxpayers.
(Office of Vocational Adult Education, 2009)
Vocational programs are offered along with educational programs in many prisons. Vocational
programs consist of training inmates different trades and teach skills that will benefit the inmate upon
their release. Learning how to build something out of wood inside a workshop and learning how to

The Between Russia And Brandenburg Prussia
L état, c est moi. I am the state, as quoted by Louis XIV. This is a great example of the meaning of
absolutism. The kingdoms of France, Russia and Brandenburg Prussia are ample evidence to prove
that absolutism worked and was a commonality compared to constitutionalism. This issue then falls to
whether the differences or the similarities of these kingdoms are more important in European and
World History. The following will provide an argument to support that the similarities of the kingdoms
should be more heavily stressed.
France was set up for absolute monarchy by King Henry IV. Henry s ambitions neutralized the clash
between Catholics and Protestants, in the Edict of Nantes. Before Henry s assassination, he had
created a financial surplus in the kingdom. Next in line for the throne was Louis XIII, Henry s son, but
he was too young to rule, so Cardinal Richelieu had control over the kingdom. He limited the political
privileges of the Huguenots and involved France in the Thirty Years War, and by doing this he
affirmed the royal power and engaged France more in European affairs.
After Richelieu s death, Louis XIII died and, his son, Louis XIV, who was five years old, inherited the
throne. When Louis turned 23 he stepped forward to claim the throne, believing that God had given
him the position of King of France. The Sun King, as Louis was called, surrounded himself with the
nobles to keep them from governing their districts as effectively and thus empowering himself.

Classroom Management And Disciplinary Response Paper
Classroom Management Disciplinary Response Paper Owing to my acculturation as a citizen of an
autocratic society, I have been programed, by default, to uphold the traditionalist view of education.
For behavioral management, most classrooms in my home country Nigeria use consequence to
enforce order in the classroom. Furthermore, the relationship between the teacher and students is top
down. Thus every student is expected to obey before complain. As a budding educationist who has
seen the best of the two worlds (traditional and progressive, explicit directives versus collaborative
problem solving) due to my background in Nigeria and experience as a preservice teacher in New
York , I see myself at a crossroad concerning what identity I should take up as an educator.
Nevertheless, until I see the need to redefine my identity in our constantly changing world, I will refer
to myself as a quasi traditional and progressive educator. I strongly believe that freedom is
advantageous when working pari passu with discipline and order thus none should be sacrificed for
the other. As a result of my aforementioned philosophy, discussed below, are some classroom
practices, structures, procedures and routines that I intend to use in my future classrooms. Classroom

  • 3. Age Of Exploration Christopher Columbus The Age of Exploration was a period of time from the 15th to 17th centuries where explorers started to explore new lands and territories in order to find new trade routes. Europeans went west to explore and claim the new world for their countries. The renaissance influenced these explorers to find new lands and the reformation also influenced European explorers to spread their religion and try to convert others to Christianity. Some of the most influential and key explores in this time period where Christopher Columbus, Henry Hudson and Hernan Cortes. Christopher Columbus was the one of the most influential explorers in the Age of Exploration. He was the first European to explore the Americas. Columbus set off on his journey south from Palos Spain with 3 ships. He believed that he would reach the edge of Japan in 10 days if he sailed west to uncharted territory. Instead of being on the water for 10 days, he was on the water for about 30 days and he found the americas. He landed in the bahamas and then claimed it for Spain. Christopher Columbus should be viewed as a villain in history because he killed millions of the native Americans with disease and overworking them. He captured thousands of natives and made them into slaves. He also set in motion the Africans being put in the slavery. Even though he discovered the Americas he murdered many lives. Christopher Columbus be a villain in history because of his horrible actions towards the native people. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Vaccines Are The Tugboats Of Preventative Health As stated by Dr. James A. Shannon of the National Institutes of Health, The only safe vaccine is a vaccine that is never used (Shannon). In order to stay safe, vaccinations for children should not be a requirement because it diminishes the values and beliefs of various religions, is used for profit only, and the risks associated with vaccinations are life threatening. However, these reasons do not outweigh the benefits of being vaccinated. As stated by William Foege, Vaccines are the tugboats of preventative health . In regards to preventative health, vaccinations should be given to children to prevent them from diseases that could potentially inhibit their future and the generations beyond.Vaccinations do more good than harm, prevent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After surveying pediatricians throughout the United States, 70% of parents are using their pro choice option and not vaccinating their children. The same survey provided information stating that 4% of pediatricians do not vaccinate their own children. These pro choice beliefs are often biased upon political beliefs as well. Such theories can be seen in conservatives. Conservatives are pro choice and are wary of the information provided to the public (Rabinowitz). Taken into consideration, political beliefs are a combination of religion, morals, and other political influences. Stereotypes have not been associated with pro choice political parties. This lack of stereotyping has allowed pro choice views to become more of a norm. Therefore, the pressure to vaccinate the child is not evaluated as a lack in human judgement, but rather a difference in opinion and beliefs that allow parents to not vaccinate their child. The second debateable topic is that vaccinations are just for profit, not for safety. This refusal is linked to the beliefs that vaccines are not safe, vaccines have ultimately killed children, the government protect the pharmaceutical companies, and that pharmaceutical companies are just personally profiting from vaccinations (Gullion). Such profits can be seen when looking at the ACIP. The ACIP recommends which vaccinations the states should mandate. In return, the board members of this organization receive profit. Therefore, ... • 5. The Importance Of Victory In College Sports Week 2 of the college football season has come and gone, and what a week it was. Several teams needed comeback efforts to achieve victory against less formidable foes, while other programs pulled off compelling wins against stiff competition. Below is a recap of the most significant storylines from week 2 of the 2015 college football season. Most Significant Victories Michigan teams come up big! The Harbaugh era is officially underway. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh captured his first victory as Wolverines head coach with a 35 7 victory over Oregon State Saturday afternoon. Had Harbaugh dropped his initiation in Ann Arbor, Maize and Blue fans may have been seen shopping for Scarlet and Grey. Ok, that s probably a stretch, but Harbaugh s first victory as Michigan s head coach showed Wolverine fans what they can expect as long as he s at the helm Winning. It could take a season or two for Harbaugh to bring Michigan back to prominence, but the fiery khaki savant has a proven track record of turning teams around. ... Saturday, the Spartans held on for a 31 28 victory over the Ducks, keeping their College Football Playoff hopes alive. The Ducks certainly aren t out of their playoff picture, but a looming matchup between Michigan State and No. 1 Ohio State is now the most anticipated matchup of the college football season. • 6. St. Andrews And The Royal And Ancient Golf Course The next day left the hotel and drove about 15 miles to St. Andrews and The Royal and Ancient golf course. Compared to the all the other places where we stayed on the trip, the hotel where we stayed just outside of St. Andrews could at best be described as so so. It was sort of like an older motel in the USA, but it was clean and reasonably comfortable and the dinner that night and breakfast the next morning were good. Well, I should preface the latter comment and say I tried the Scottish traditional breakfast of haggis , and I could not swallow the first bite. No one told me it was made primarily with lamb, and I will not eat lamb under any circumstances. After breakfast, we headed out to St. Andrews and the Royal and Ancient Club the Mecca of golf. When we arrived at the clubhouse, we found out they were having a board meeting that day and we would not be able to play on the Old course, but we could go to the New course and not have any problem getting on at that course. The first thing we had to do was rent some clubs because neither brought clubs on the trip. So, we went to a small shop not far from the course and rented some clubs. Playing golf in Scotland is a little different from playing golf in America. The noticeable differences are the height of the rough and the depth of the sand bunkers. The rough is almost knee high and sand traps and bunkers are about 6 or 7 feet deep and reinforced with a brick retaining wall. Well, we got to the club, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. William Bradford and Thomas Morton In the New World Bradford and Morton were both important men of our history. The stories of both great men give us an insight into the way religion and influence affected Puritan life. William Bradford said he believed, Plymouth people were the chosen people to live out their last days in the earthly church (Daly pg 560). Puritan settlers came to the new world seeking a better life and to get away from the rule of the Catholic Church they wanted to become a primitive Baptist church like in the Old Testament. The Puritans wanted to live their lives in Old Testament biblical way of life; when the settlers came to the, New England they thought they had landed in God s country (Callicott). They thought they were the chosen ones the new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After reading various papers on the Puritans it is hard to imagine just how against any showing of sexual pleasure was even forbidden between man and wife, much less frolicking with Indian women. Although that was probably not something that was widely accepted, it was not against the law. Morton called the drinking and songs with the red and whites harmless and Bradford called the pagan ways. Morton felt that Bradford s, accusations were more from fear of what he did not know and understand and was not truly backed up by fact (Daly pg 564). Could you imagine the kind of world we would have today if everyone spend this much time and effort on who slept with who? I am not saying that people should just sleep around with people like trying on clothes, but unless you are hurting someone just go your own way. Bradford felt that Morton was an enemy against God (Daly pg 565). Bradford called Morton s conduct Lord of misrule , and Morton felt like it was harmless fun (Schoenberg). His maypole festivities smacked of folk superstitions and pagan practices; his consorting with Indian lasses violated their sexual and racial taboos; his hospitality to indentured servants threatened their labor supply and social order; and his trading of guns for furs not only stole the beaver and deerskin trade away but it also armed their deadly enemies, who became a terror unto them, who ... • 9. Example Of Observational Learning The topic that I chose for this week is observational learning. Observational learning is learning by others and imitating their behavior (Griggs, 2009, p. xx). Observational learning can help us when we want to learn how to play sports, drive a car, or even learn to write letters. There are numerous things we can acquire through observational learning. Many of us watched our mother and grandmother bake, or even just cook when we were younger. We picked up many of the things that they did, this is another example of observational learning. We also learn attitudes and behaviors through observational learning. There are good models of behavior. Models such as how to act appropriately in certain situations. On the other hand, there are bad models. Those little negative traits, and habits we pick up from watching others. Often times we hear people say: He/she did not have proper home training. This comes from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you have ever made a face at an infant and watched them try to imitate it, this is the observational process at work. The same with a toddler who sees his parents folding laundry. Later the child will grab some clothes and pretend to be folding them. A young boy watches another boy on the playground get in trouble for hitting another child. He learns from observing this interaction that he should not hit others (Cherry, 2016). There are several factors that influence observational learning. They are attention: The person must have their focus directed at the model. Retention: The observer must be able to code, and store patterns so the data can be retrieved. Motor reproduction: Kinesthetic and neuromuscular patterns are practiced with successive iterations until the model s behavior is approximated by the observer ( Albert Bandura Observational Learning, 2016). Lastly reinforcement and incentives: These send the learner in the direction of wanting to pay attention, retain, and recall the action in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. A Harbinger Of Danger And Discontent A Harbinger of Danger and Discontent We collect the content and other information you provide when you use our Services, including when you sign up for an account, create or share, and message or communicate with others (Hachman). Each day people live with a false security that they are protected and maintain a sense of privacy. Citizens misplace their trust in social media and technology, and divulge their personal information in ignorance of the repercussions that may arise. Users say the advances in technology and social media will not affect their privacy; however, it is proven that these advances can be a harbinger of both danger and discontent. Our nation is built upon its foundation from the United States Constitution and its Bill of Rights. Included within this governing document is the Fourth Amendment, the laws and guidelines that gives the people the right to privacy. • 11. Stanley Kubrick s Dr. Strangelove Essay Review of Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) Stanley Kubrick is infamous for his witty films that satire governmental and societal actions though history. In this film, Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964), Kubrick is once again directing a film that is a biting, sardonic comedy that pokes fun at the nuclear fears of the 1950s. The screenplay for the movie was written by Stanley Kubrick and Terry Southern, and was based on the novel Red Alert written by Peter George. In this film, which is classified as a black comedy/fantasy, technology runs amok and takes over society and mankind. The irony of the situation, however, became apparent when shortly after ... The name is symbolic of an infamous English serial killer. By placing this name with a senior commander in the US Military, Kubrick is attempting to show the bloodlust that he perceived the US Military s higher levels to have during that time towards the USSR. Yet another suggestive name is the name of another General in the US Military. This symbolism is slightly more subtle, because buck signifies a male animal, and turgid is a word meaning swollen. This name shows Kubrick s suggestion that the US Military had an inflated sense of self worth during this era. These names serve to both show the director s opinions of individuals and systems of the time period, but also makes the connection in the viewer s mind from the male obsession with sex to the male obsession with war. The next vehicle Kubrick uses to convey his thoughts on the matter is distortion of history. This is not, however, a vulgar distortion of history intended to misinform the viewer. Instead it is a purposeful distortion of history through which Kubrick can present a hypothetical situation in order to get a point across. • 12. Victorian Themes Of The Conventional Victorian Ideas In... The conventional Victorian ideas are supported in Goblin Market . This is seen in the representation of Laura and Lizzie. They have to be careful in how their actions might be perceived, You should not peep at goblin men. / Lizzie covered up her eyes, / Covered close lest they should look (Rossetti lines 49 51). A power struggle between men and women is established in Goblin Market ; all men are represented by the goblin men, Laura and Lizzie signify all pure innocent females. In the beginning the struggle is barely perceptible. The men tempt and tease the girls to taste their fruit; however, the struggle becomes more obvious when Lizzie returns to the goblins to purchase some fruit for Laura; the goblins try to force her to sit and eat the fruit with them, but when she refuses the goblins cuss and hit her. The struggle is resolved by Lizzie. She stands up to the goblin men and resists their temptations, initially they try to trap her and when that does not work they try force. She triumphs by remaining strong. Goblin Market is a moral fable of sin and redemption because the fruit represents sin. The goblins use the fruit to tempt the young girls. Laura is persuaded to try it; however, she has no money and is coerced to give a part of herself, You have much gold upon your head, / ... / Buy from us with a golden curl. • 14. Summary Of Short Story By Rabindranath Tagore Through the story, Tagore is primarily concerned with criticism of social behaviour, which he condemns without didacticism but also without complacency. Women, in Tagore s short stories is most often a living dead, a known person whom society deprives of independence. At first subjected to her father, then to her husband, and at last to her son. They are caught in a conflict between the individual aspirations and social demands. They are torn between self expression and social stigmas ( psychological and material ). In the story, the writer deals with a contrast between good and evil, innocence and experience, life and death. He blends in it the techniques of psycho analysis and being unconscious factors (forging a short span of death) to interpret her existence at social and personal levels. The author leads the audience to participate emotionally in the protagonist s conflict with her own unconscious experience. He aims his audience to achieve a state of awareness, which implies both an intellectual perception of the wholeness of situations and more importantly emotionally behaviour of the turmoiled life. The story also maintains the impact of Aristotle s theory Catharsis as by the catastrophic end of Kadambini, the audience is purged of the emotions of pity and fear . Tagore s short stories divulge in many psychological emotions which are acknowledged through his characters. His main interest is the inner man , the sou l or the psyche of the individual ... I had five different observations, each for one hour at the West Chester Area Day Care. I sat in classroom seven, in a little chair in the corner writing down everything I observed about him. It was interesting to learn about Z as I watched him interact with the adults and other kids that were in the room with him. Z caught my attention right away in the classroom. He was very active, walking around while the other children were mainly sitting or only crawling. This lead me to choose him to observe for this project, and focus on his physical movement and interactions with others throughout this paper. Z was always moving around, the only time he was ever sitting still was when he was placed in a height chair for snack time. He switched between crawling and walking. Most of the time he would walk, but then he would fall down and continue to wherever his destination was by crawling. I noticed one day he was holding a maraca and walked for a longer period of time than usual. According to (page 183 infants children and adolescents), it is easier for them to focus on their balance when they are holding onto an object. He demonstrated the ability t squat down and picking something up, before returning to a standing position. The adults encouraged his walking behaviors, so when the group came in from the outside playground, they would let him walk in, while most of the other kids were being pushed in the giant stroller. The average age for most kids to begin walking is 11 months and 3 weeks, the range being 9 to 17 months, so he his definitely on track for his age group (182). He was also able to climb up onto things. For example, when the children were brought on walks around the neighborhood there was a giant stroller that they rode in as mentioned earlier. Z got up the step and turned himself around to sit down in the seat. He did the same thing on some of the steps on the playground, crawling up one and turning himself around to sit. I am going to focus on one of these subjects and the problems or issues that are within the corrections part of criminal justice usually refers to the events that occur after being sentenced in a court of law. During the past few decades many problems have arisen in this area, solutions have been discussed and put into use over the years as well. (Stelloh, 2013) Many programs have been initiated to help the problems of overcrowding and negligence. These include education, rehabilitation programs, work release programs, and other preventative measures. Numerous education programs are offered to inmates. Many colleges in the prison s community partner together with each other to enable higher learning as a possibility for offenders to obtain college credit. • 34. The Between Russia And Brandenburg Prussia L état, c est moi. I am the state, as quoted by Louis XIV. This is a great example of the meaning of absolutism. The kingdoms of France, Russia and Brandenburg Prussia are ample evidence to prove that absolutism worked and was a commonality compared to constitutionalism. This issue then falls to whether the differences or the similarities of these kingdoms are more important in European and World History. The following will provide an argument to support that the similarities of the kingdoms should be more heavily stressed. France was set up for absolute monarchy by King Henry IV. Henry s ambitions neutralized the clash between Catholics and Protestants, in the Edict of Nantes. Before Henry s assassination, he had created a financial surplus in the kingdom. Next in line for the throne was Louis XIII, Henry s son, but he was too young to rule, so Cardinal Richelieu had control over the kingdom. He limited the political privileges of the Huguenots and involved France in the Thirty Years War, and by doing this he affirmed the royal power and engaged France more in European affairs. After Richelieu s death, Louis XIII died and, his son, Louis XIV, who was five years old, inherited the throne. When Louis turned 23 he stepped forward to claim the throne, believing that God had given him the position of King of France. The Sun King, as Louis was called, surrounded himself with the nobles to keep them from governing their districts as effectively and thus empowering himself. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Classroom Management And Disciplinary Response Paper Classroom Management Disciplinary Response Paper Owing to my acculturation as a citizen of an autocratic society, I have been programed, by default, to uphold the traditionalist view of education. For behavioral management, most classrooms in my home country Nigeria use consequence to enforce order in the classroom. Furthermore, the relationship between the teacher and students is top down. Thus every student is expected to obey before complain. As a budding educationist who has seen the best of the two worlds (traditional and progressive, explicit directives versus collaborative problem solving) due to my background in Nigeria and experience as a preservice teacher in New York , I see myself at a crossroad concerning what identity I should take up as an educator. Nevertheless, until I see the need to redefine my identity in our constantly changing world, I will refer to myself as a quasi traditional and progressive educator. I strongly believe that freedom is advantageous when working pari passu with discipline and order thus none should be sacrificed for the other. As a result of my aforementioned philosophy, discussed below, are some classroom practices, structures, procedures and routines that I intend to use in my future classrooms. Classroom management Assigning weekly class jobs to all students: This is a practical way of teaching how to share responsibilities as members of a human community.
