Education And The American Dream
Day by day, numerous amount of people go through struggles and obstacles to get a taste and
grasp of the American Dream no matter how miniscule. From waking up early in the morning to
getting only a diminutive amount of hours to no sleep at all after a late job night shift. All the
sacrifice of giving up the last bit of innocence of a normal teenager s day in a job to help with the
financial issues of paying for the supplies requires for that education that was restricted back
home. Many people, like my uncle, had to go through countless hardships in order to get a good
education than what he was handed. Those who aren t given their education on American usually
tend to pave their own path for themselves and decide to go for that extra mile

Light Fidelity (Li-Fi)
INTRODUCTION For years, infrared LED has been merely a system for piping light around
corners and into the inaccessible places to allow the hidden to be lighted. But now, infrared LED
has evolved into a system of significantly greater importance and use. Throughout the world, it is
now being used to transmit voice, television and data signals as light waves. Its advantages as
compared with conventional coaxial cable or twisted wire pairs are manifold. As a result, millions
of dollars are being spent to put these light wave communication systems into operation. One of the
most interesting developments in recent years in the field of telecommunication is the use of laser
light to carry information over large distances. It has been proved in... Show more content on

RECEIVER SECTION: This section is worked as a Flip flop (Bistable). IC 3 is decade counter,
its Pin No.14 is input and Pin No. 2 output. The output of frequency detector stage is used, via a
flip flop, to switch ON or switch OFF a LED alternately. The receiver uses infrared modules IR
signal from the transmitter is sensed by the sensor through and its output PIN 1 goes low and
switched LED. IC 3 is worked on clock pulse which receives to infrared modules at Pin No. 14.
Its output at Pin No 2 throughes high. The output of IC 2 is also used for lighting LED 1
indicating presence of signal. When no signal is available output of sensor module goes high
and transistor LED is switched OFF . When another signal arrives, LED is switched ON and
through clock pulse at Pin No. 14 of IC 3. This makes the LED to switch ON the appliance at
first pulse and OFF the appliance at its Second pulse arrived at its sensor. Transmitter circuits
works satisfactorily with 6 9V DC. Battery but receiver circuits needs 6V regulated supply. The
CAMD CM8870/70C provides full DTMF receiver capability by integrating both the band split
filter and digital decoder functions into a single 18 pin DIP, SOIC,or 20 pin PLCC package. The
CM8870/70C is manufactured using state of the art CMOS process technology for low power
consumption (35mW, MAX) and precise data handling. The filter section uses a switched capacitor
technique for both high and low group filters and dial tone rejection. The

David Tennant s Get Thee To A Nunnery Scene
Each video of the Get thee to a nunnery scene was interpreted in a different way. the videos took
place in a different location, and the some of them evoked different emotions. The Mel Gibson
scene took place in an open area. When Hamlet found out that Ophelia father was listening he
seemed more hurt than angry. In the David Tennant the scene took place in an open room. In this
scene hamlet found out someone was listening also. This time he reacted angry and a little violent.
Out of all five of the videos Tennant seemed to interpret the scene the best. The emotions created in
the scene really captures the audiences attention. All of the elements really tied the scene together.
Tennant scene was modern, but it used the original Shakespeare

The UFC returns to Madison Square Garden for UFC 217 this Saturday, and the jam packed card
features two legends, three title fights and many rising stars. The main event will be for the UFC
middle weight title, but there s a certain amount of uncertainty regarding what the winner of the
fight between champion Michael Bisping and Georges St Pierre will actually do with the title.
Bisping is defending the title for the second time since winning it at UFC 199 in June 2016, and it
will be against a fighter who hasn t fought in four years in St Pierre. Significantly enough however,
it has been more than a year since Bisping successfully defended the title against Dan Henderson,

Nov. 4, you re going to find out, pal. Former longtime welterweight champion St Pierre hasn t
fought since UFC 167 in November 2013. It was a close battle against Johny Hendricks, after
which he won by decision and promptly stepped away from the UFC. There have been moments
where fans thought they might see his return, but none of those were as real as challenging
Bisping for the title. There were many rumors circulating about his delay from returning, but the
only person who really has the answers is St Pierre himself. St Pierre won 12 straight fights from
2007 to 2013, a time in which he absolutely ruled the welterweight division. The only two losses
on his record, to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, he avenged in convincing fashion. Aside Hughes
and Serra, the 36 year old has defeated high profile names such as Nick Diaz, BJ Penn and
Carlos Condit. How he will perform after a four year layoff against a bigger fighter at a heavier
weight is the biggest question. No one in the middleweight division, including Bisping, seems to
think that St Pierre will defend the title if he wins. St Pierre cleared up those thoughts to the
MMA Hour in August. I have to defend my title, St Pierre said. It s written in my contract. I have
to defend my title if I win. In response to moving back down to welterweight after fighting Bisping
and not defending, St Pierre said, That wasn t my

Informative Essay On Thoroughbreds

Expository
Thoroughbred A thoroughbred is a type of horse. This horse is mostly known for being used as race
horses. These horses are commonly known to be used in flat racing throughout North America.
Though this is how many people know them, this is not all the thoroughbred can do. This is an
amazing breed that is known to be able to do many different things. Thoroughbreds also have a
unique style of how they are built and how they (Blocksdorf n.p.). The breeding of the
thoroughbred was the result of a horse that could carry weight and sustain speed over extended
distances. This is the reasoning behind why people started to use thoroughbreds as race horses

Many thoroughbreds are just riding horses for pleasure, but there is also many different sports
that they are involved in other than racing. The main sports other than racing are jumping,
dressage, and hunting. Show jumping is when horse and rider compete in a competition to
complete a course of jumps without error and quickly. Dressage is when the horse and rider do
patterns in an arena and the rider is able to make the horse look like it is dancing. This is one of
the most difficult things that you can train a horse to do. Hunting or hunter jumping is when the
horse and rider compete in a long cross country jumping course. This can be very intense and very
hard because it is also judged with how many errors you have and the speed you complete the
course in (Blocksdorf

When People Talk About The Word в

When people talk about the word fashion, it automobility provides a sense of popular styles of
clothing, accessories, and makeup. Fashion influences not only on people s behaviors, but also
influences the society as a whole, such as socially and economically. In Adorned in Dreams, the
author Elizabeth Wilson, introduces that fashion is a form of art, and people can use fashion to
express their ideas, beliefs, and desires. Wilson also introduces the history of fashions in order to
prove that people can use fashion to express different belief systems, social values, and public
desires during each time period. In Subculture The Meaning of Style, Dick Hebdige believes
people can use fashion as a tool to express their beliefs. In this case,... Show more content on

In nowadays, buying luxury brands is not only showing a sign of wealth, but also a kind of
rewards for people s hard working. Luxury products sell high market prices because of their
designs, brand names, and the qualities. People want to buy luxury products because their
quality is better than target brands. For example, the brand like Bottega Veneta is known for its
traditional design of leather goods; their handbags are handmade in Italy. Comparing to Bottega
Veneta to target brands, Bottega Veneta s design will not easily out of style, but target brands
will easily out of styles because their designs are relatively ordinary. However, in the recent year,
some luxury brands reputation has gone done because those brands were shifting their factories
to other countries and then shipping back to Italy just for the label. Technically, the phrase Made
in Italy is not really manufacture in Italy anymore, sometimes this product s qualities are not as
good as before. There is a rising concern of whether these luxury goods really match with the
expensive price tags. In Adorned in Dreams, Wilson introduces that people express their ideas,
beliefs, and desires through fashion. It does not matter that people from which social classes,
people would express different belief systems, social values, and public desires through Fashion.

Swot Analysis Of Jamba Juice
Jamba Juice case is an excellent example that illustrates the importance of vision statement of a
company and the usage of SWOT analysis. According to Dess: the vision evokes powerful and
compelling mental images of a shared future (23). The vision statement of Jamba Juice was to
inspire and simplify healthy living and they believe that whole food ingredients are healthier for
people, and inspire people to pass the goodness along to the world (About Us). The company
uses differentiate strategy that they blend all good health ingredients into their drinks. Although
the cost of the drink is high, customers still visit Jamba Juice because of the shared future or
vision: healthy living. Kirk Perron, the founder of Jamba Juice, had a dream to own his
businesses at his early age. He worked hard to accumulate money and gain experience as an
assistant store manager at Safeway for years. He found a smoothie is healthier than any other
drinks; thus, he opened a store in San Luis Obispo, California to sell smoothie to pursuit of his
dream. That is how Jamba Juice started, Jamba Juice was firstly named as Juice Club. (Jamba Juice
Company History). At that time, the strengths of the company were intangible resources such as
Kirk Perron s management experience, customers royalty, and unique menu of smoothies with
special names. The weaknesses were the lack of capital, low profit, and difficult to expand its

Regarding the provenance of the raw materials, in this work we focus in the limestone, being an
important construction material that was not present in the immediate surroundings of
Tenochtitlan. In fact, this was an island city, located in the middle of a volcanic basin, and the
nearest geological limestone outcrops were located far away. According to the historical sources
written during the 16th century, the Aztecs imported by way of tribute and commerce lime and
limestone from different regions. For instance, the tributary lists known as the MatrГcula de
Tributos (1991, 22) and the Codex Mendoza (1992, 28r, 42r) record that lime loads were brought

Cuernavaca, Morelos) and was sold in the market, while the second one was obtained in the small

built up antibodies to protect against the virus. The monkeys that survived were then given another
type of virus to see if the same antibodies protected against the second type. If it did, it told Salk
and his assistants that the two types were related. If it did not, that told Salk that they were not

The issues raised by Isoft elucidate the importance of recording an accurate picture of its
earnings. The joint project of the FASB and the IASB is trying to converge the two sets of
standards and offer a single revenue recognition model that can be applied consistently to various
transactions which would address these issues of lack of guidance. Introduction: In January 2006,
Isoft Ltd, a Manchester based supplier of software applications for the healthcare sector,
announced that its profit would be below market expectations due to a change in its accounting
policy for revenue recognition, when it announced its results for the year ended April 2006. This
situation is not unusual within the software industry and reflects the issues that software
companies face when it comes to accounting for revenues. As the financial controller of
SoftWarehouse Ltd, my goal is to clarify and explain the main issues faced by Isoft Ltd; the
consequences of those issues on the business and finally; to determine if those practices could
also impact the financial reporting within SoftWarehouse Ltd. Part 1 Examining the Isoft Ltd

The Parson s Tale
The Parson s tale, although short, sweet and simple has some very good and important
messages. The tale really feels more like a sermon given by a priest than a tale or story. The
parson talks about being a pilgrim and going from the current world to what seems to be the
afterlife or maybe even another world altogether and this world all guilt and grief seems to go
away. The parson then goes on to say that g d does not actually want anyone to die and there are
many paths for everyone to this afterlife or other universe, which the Parson refers to the Celestial
City. Some of the things someone can do to get this place are confession, patience, doing penance
and fasting just to name a few. Then the Parson lists the things one can not do if they desire to
reach the Celestial City. They are anger, accide, avarice, gluttony, lechery, envy and satisfaction .
These are the seven deadly sins and are probably the worst things that a religious christian could
think of doing. The tale (sermon) then ends after the Parson spells out the sins of everyone to hear.
Although this tale, which is really a sermon is not overly complicated it is important. The Parson s

conveys in doing so as well as the importance of religious anecdotes such as this one. Although I
am still left with one question at the conclusion of reading the tales. That is, what is the order of
the tales? Was this much needed religious antidote given in the beginning, middle or end of the
journey? Regardless, it is still important the message will hopefully sit with the other pilgrims for a

Compare And Contrast Egypt And Greek Clothing
Aren t ancient Greece and ancient Egypt such wonderful civilizations?
Ancient Greece formed in the year 1200 BC while ancient Egypt formed in the year 3100 BC.
Ancient Egypt is known for their large pyramids, the Nile River, pharaohs, artwork, and their
accessories. Ancient Greece is known for their mythology, their simple fashion sense, an early form
of the olympics, Alexander the Great, and The Persian War. Ancient Egyptand ancient Greece are
very unique in their own way. Greece and Egypt both had ancient civilizations, but they differ in
their clothing/appearance and their jobs.
Foremost, the people of ancient Greece were very concerned with their clothing and their
appearance. They tried their best to look presentable and clean. The clothing that they wore were
very comfortable and simple. The machine that they use to create their clothing was called a loom.

Almost all of the Egyptians clothing was made of linen. Out of the linen, men commonly wore
kilts while women wore dresses with two straps attached. Although, they usually left the linen
their natural beige color, they made the clothing different colors using plant based dyes. During
the New Kingdom, when the pharaoh Ahmose came into ruling, clothing began to get more
complicated. They had robes with a pleated linen design that laid against the body elegantly. For
special events both men and women wore short medium length wigs. No matter your age or your

The higher associated levels of Lp(a) the more increased risk of disease at an early age.
Lp(a) being a known autosomal dominant genetic trait the expected familial pattern would be
around 50% as it is in this family. Some family members may be avoiding disease from various
interventions and lifestyle choices such as niacin therapy, weight loss, and physical activity as well
as lack of concomitant disease. Discussion
The pedigreed family shows an excessive portion of family members with cardiovascular disease
(coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease) in one half of the
subjectssubject s lineage. The paternal side of the target subject has a sibling, first cousin, uncle,
three great uncles, two aunts and great great grandfather with some form of cardiovascular disease.
The maternal side has only a grandfather with cardiovascular disease. If the trait in question Lp(a)

Nine of twenty in this particular lineage currently show or have shown disease and two subjects are

King County Emergency Medical Systems Essay
Emergency medical services is the process of treating patients, transporting them to the hospital,
and providing immediate care according to the patient s condition. Without Emergency Medical
Services (EMS), some patients may not survive the trip to the hospital. Thus, the most important
motivator for establishing emergency medical services systems was to reduce losses of life by
providing treatment from specialized medical providers during transportation to the hospital. There
have been many concerns about the effectiveness of operation and the procedures of the emergency
medical systems in providing care to patients. Accordingly, King County Emergency Medical
Services of Washington state have taken great care to develop a system that improves the patient s
outcome through providing immediate medical care.
The emergency care system works under the Seattle Fire Department and operates with emergency
departments at local hospitals, dispatch centers, and private ambulance providers, as well as the
fire departments ( About the EMS Division, 2016). The system consists of many providers who are
working as a team to provide the necessary treatment in both life threatening and non urgent
situations. Providing the best quality care to their residents is a policy.

Grand Canyon National Park Short Report
The Grand Canyon is one of the most amazing natural wonders in the world. It was originally
deposited sediment that was lithofied, and turned into sedimentary rock. The rock was then carved
out by hydraulic processes (Warneke). These processes, all combined, took almost three to six
million years to form the Grand Canyon. Continued erosion by wind and rain in the present time
continues to shift what the canyon looks like, and make it different as time goes on ( Grand
Canyon Facts ).
This seemingly boring process came to fruition in one of the most beloved National Parks in the
United States of America. The Grand Canyon National Park is located in the state of Arizona. It is

44,173 visitors a year, the first year it opened. Now it has over five million visitors every single

the condition it is today. In 1933, Franklin Delano Roosevelt created the Civilian Conservation
Corps as a part of his New Deal (Audretsch). On May 19, 1933 the first Civilian Conservation
Corps Company, Company 819 arrived in the Grand Canyon. They did many things for the park,
including building stone walls alongside the rim of the canyon (to protect places such as El Tovar
Hotel and Bright Angel Lodge). In addition they worked to improve the Bright Angel Trail, and
worked to landscape the Grand Canyon Village (Audretsch). It is because of their hard work that
the Community Building at the Grand Canyon exists today.

3.0EFFLUENT DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS
The Environmental Quality Act (EQA) 1974 specifies two standards for effluent discharge:
Standard A for discharge upstream of any raw water intake, and Standard B for discharge
downstream of any raw water intake. The current Third Schedule of the Environmental Quality Act
1974, under the Environmental Quality (Sewage and Industrial Effluents) Regulations, 1979,
regulations 8 (1), 8 (2) and 8 (3) has been revisited and the Department of Environment has

Based on standard BOD measurement, the oxygen demand measured is usually influenced by the
following three (3) phenomena:
I.Oxygen demand by breakdown of soluble carbonaceous matter.
II.Oxygen demand by breakdown of suspended particulate carbonaceous matter.
III.Oxygen demand by oxidation of ammonia to nitrate by nitrifying bacteria present in the effluent
sample.
After undergoing biological treatment in the secondary reactor, residual soluble carbonaceous BOD
matter present in the effluent reduces in concentration to below 15 mg/L. Subsequently, nitrifying
bacteria populations tend to grow rapidly feeding on ammonia which is present in the partially
treated sewage. Nitrification may not be complete at levels of 5 mg/l of residual soluble
carbonaceous biodegradable matter. It depends on whether sufficient oxygen is available for the
oxidation of ammonia to nitrate. Hence, all BOD5 measurements shall adopt nitrification inhibition
step to ensure that the carbonaceous oxygen demand is reflected accurately in the overall BOD
measurement.

Detroit An American Autopsy Analysis
In the novel, Detroit: An American Autopsy, Charlie LeDuff, a former reporter for The Detroit

hometown of Detroit after journalistic work in New York and Los Angeles. Detroit has long been
a prime example of urban decay: it is a citythat presents images of mass unemployment, political
corruption, looming bankruptcy, abandoned buildings, and senseless slaughter. It has gone through
major economic, political, and demographic decline in the recent decades, with even the city s
notorious and once thriving automobile industry struggling with increasing global competition.

Government officials, such as senators and police officers, were investigated in order to
discover the corruption behind the city s financial issues. Despite being a city where hope
comes short in supply, LeDuff provides a flicker of incorrupt civilization throughout the Detroit.
Firefighters, who are tasked with working in a city that does not provide them with adequate
resources to do so, risk and sometimes lose their lives to save the city from fires. LeDuff narrates
the details of how one firefighter, previously a new friend of his, rushed into an abandoned house
in an effort to save those inside; unfortunately, the house was empty and the collapsing roof ended
his life. He also recounts for his connections with businessmen, homeless individuals, and
struggling homeowners to portray the slivers of hope and determination holding the falling city
together. Regardless of the problems of race, economics, politics, and overall desperation of the
city, LeDuff presents Detroit to be facing issues that transcend so. The government has destroyed
individuals and possibly any positive light the city may see, as well as humanity has been
marooned as people have not only lost jobs but also their relationships between others around them.

Macbeth Motifs
When it comes down to it, humans are mammals, and there are some animalistic traits that every
mammal shares. The story of Macbeth by Shakespeare includes a theme that is the epitome of a
trait that all mammals share, weak versus strong. Through the use of metaphors including birds, the
symbolism of Macbeth as an owl throughout the story, and the juxtaposition between birds, weak
versus strong is represented by the motif of birds in Macbeth. Birds are incorporated into other
literary elements that Shakespeare utilizes, showing the true depth of his writing. Metaphors allow
the reader to paint a picture of written words referencing images that they are familiar with. Like
any other animal, there is a hierarchy of strength and therefore... Show more content on

Shakespeare is used to develop the theme of weak versus strong when they are used in metaphors,
when Macbeth is represented by a bird throughout the story, and by the juxtaposition of the weak

they were not so unrealistic that the audience could not relate to them, they represented the

to create this unsettling feeling because their rustic, animal like nature is no unlike the animalistic

Social Structure Of France During The French Revolution Essay
The French Revolution was a time of period where social and political was a disruption in France
that lasted from 1789 until 1799. This time of period affected Social Structure of France prior to
the French Revolution. The factors that caused this revolution was due to having a bad government
system, weak superiority, and inequality of the classes of people in France during the war. In this
research, I will define and explain how Social Structure contributed to the French Revolution
Resentment of royal authoritarianism. The three estates that social structure consists of are first
estate which are the clergies, second estate known as the Nobleman, and third estate which are the
Bourgeoisie, peasants, and workers. The Revolution did not omit sharp distinctions among the
social groups, neither did it alter the distribution of wealth. This caused them to divide into these
three groups called as estates.
The French Revolution were influenced by many factors such as the Enlightenment ideals,
concepts of popular sovereignty, and unchallengeable rights. France s costly involvement in the
Revolution and excessive spending by King Louis XVI and his predecessor had left the country on
the brink of bankruptcy. Not only were the royal coffers exhausted, but two decades of poor cereal
harvests, drought, cattle disease and skyrocketing bread prices had kindled unrest among peasants
and the urban poor. (history.com).These actions played a critical role in shaping modern nations. As

Character Analysis Of The Lottery By Mrs. Hutchinson
In the story, The Lottery , the characters are introduced in a carefree way. One character, Tessie
Hutchinson, was introduced as a woman who had forgotten an important day in her community and
was late to the event. Throughout The Lottery , Mrs. Hutchinson displays two main traits. First,
Mrs. Hutchinson displays being carefree. Mrs. Hutchinson was very calm when she walked up to
the crowd as she said, Clean forgot what day it was (Jackson). This shows how common an ordeal
the lotterywas in their way of life. The lottery did not seem to make anyone super nervous. This
shows how Mrs. Hutchinson developed as a character throughout the story. Mrs. Hutchinson was
also frightened. When Mr. Hutchinson unfolded his slip of paper Tessie began to scream of
unfairness (Jackson). Mrs. Hutchinson shows how frightened she is for her life because she
knows that she has a higher chance of dying once her husband is shown with the only special slip
of paper. Another character in The Lottery is Mr. Summers.Mr. Summers shows two main traits
while in the story as well. Mr. Summers is a married man, without children, that ...[has the] time and
energy to devote to civic activities , which makes him responsible in his town(Jackson). This is
important to the story because he is the proctor of an age old tradition that kills people. Mr.
Summers almost acts as if The Lottery is just like any other community event like a county fair.
He acts with no remorse because it is traditional to have the lottery. Mr. Summers also is
traditional. As he is setting up for the lottery to begin, he remembers and performs a lot of
rituals that occur during this event like using the same black drawing box or calling up each
male head of household or making up the family lists after everyone was gathered (Jackson). Mr.
Summers is knit picky about what happens as the day moves along because if anything goes
wrong, he is responsible and could possibly be disciplined for the mistake. If there was a mistake
the result could quite possibly be death because that is the whole purpose of the lottery, to rid the
community of a person, by stoning. Therefore, Mr. Summers would not stray from the traditional
ways of performing the lottery at all. The

the first book written in English that deals with German fashion during and after the World War

in the public at the time of its release but the author managed to give convincing facts on the

The Discovery Of The Scientist s The Technologists, Along...
Before MIT was founded in 1861, the common take on knowledge was quite different than that
of our modern day. Education was primarily for a wealthy upper class, who regardless of work
ethic or true intelligence, had safety nets of incredibly well off families often with money to spare.
As noted in Matthew Pearl s The Technologists, along with Bruce Sinclair and Merritt Roe Smiths
articles on MIT s foundation, Harvard and other schools for this elite class focused on a purely
knowledge based learning system; while MIT attempted to introduce a more technical education
combining pure science along with practical applications of technology, thus ushering in a new
style of technical education.
In 1861, founder William Rodgers, chartered one of the first technical schools in MIT. While
growing up a geologist, in 1831, Rodgers began contemplation the connections between pure
science and its applications to engineering (Smith 16), which little to his knowledge, would be the
basis of a new institution. When Rodgers decided to introduce the idea for a technical institute, he
had already mapped out a path for the curriculum and its basis. Introduced and now known as the
New Education , Rodgers s idea, set forth by Charles W. Eliot, brought on an entirely new technical
education that had almost never been seen before.

applied technologies. With a majority of the wealthy population attending

The Importance Of Drilling For Oil In The Arctic National...
Last week, Senate Republicans sparked an uproar from environmentalists and their Democratic
allies after voting to raising revenue by drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in the
northeast corner of Alaska.
Though pushed for years by Alaska s congressional delegation, tapping that land, set aside for
caribou herds and other wildlife, is still not a sure thing. The Senate, House and President Trump
each need to agree to a budget proposal that sets up the prospect of a tax code rewrite. Passing a
revamp of the tax code is still a big if.
But to the west of the refuge along the state s North Slope is another massive stretch of land with its
own significant oil reserves. Unlike with ANWR, the Trump administration already... Show more

Environmental groups were generally supportive of the previous administration s plan, but worry
the Trump administration is rushing to lease that land designated for drilling with the sale
scheduled for December 6.
Americans should not stand by and allow our public lands to be plundered without restraint, said
Nicole Whittington Evans, Alaska regional director for the Wilderness Society. We need a
thoughtful, careful approach that emphasizes responsible development and recognizes that some
places are simply too special to drill.
And Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke is taking steps toward removing the protection for parts of the
reserve currently off limits. In May, Zinke signed an order to review and possibly revise the former
administration s land management plan for the reserve. Three months later, BLM invited the oil
and gas industry to nominate new tracts for development that currently are not eligible for leasing.
Alaskan oil interests see filling up the Trans Alaska Pipeline System, or TAPS, as crucial for
keeping the petroleum flowing. If there s too little oil in pipeline, none of it moves.
In May, I put my hand on TAPS and pledged to help fill it by putting Alaskans back to work on the
North Slope, Zinke said in the announcement.
Environmentalists counter that there is indeed enough oil in TAPS. Many in Alaska and elsewhere

Two types of Drosphila Melanogaster used within the Assays are Wild Type and Black Cell. Wild
Type fruit flies are yellow brown, with brick red eyes and transverse black rings across the
abdomen. Black cells are a mutation causing spontaneous melanization of Drosophila crystal cells, a
hemocyte cell type producing phenoloxidases. The phenotype of the Drosphila individuals exhibit
circulating black spots but fail to melanize upon injury. By using these different phenotypes, it s

Women s Reproductive Rights
Before I begin I have a question: You are holding a petri dish containing a fertilized egg in one
hand and a baby in the other hand; you trip and can only save one which do you pick? Where do
we live? The United States. The United States is thought to be the country of the free. As citizens
of the United States we have many freedoms: freedom of press, freedom of speech, freedom of
religion and currently freedom of choice. We have fought for the freedom in our country, yet are
women free? Are women free if they can not decide how they care for their bodies or own
reproductive systems?
Women should have the right to choose. Women deserve the right to choose. They deserve respect
when they choose. People are allowed to legally get piercings ... Show more content on

Yes it will change both of the parents lives but it will not change the bystander s life. If people
have the choice of an abortion that does not mean they need to take. It does not affect Pro Life
supporters to know there is a choice of abortion. They do not need to associate themselves with it.
Pro Choice supporters do not get angry when people don t get abortions because that would be
ridiculous. Just like non abortionists should not get angry when people exercise their freedom of
choice. Parents that go through with abortions are not taking the easy way out. They have to deal
with the guilt for the rest of their lives. Even if they are pro choice they still ended would could
have been a life and will have to carry this around with them. It is not an easy decision, it is not
something people don t spend massive amounts of times thinking about.
Getting an abortion is simply exercising your personal freedom of

Descriptive Essay About Michaelmas
Michaelmas
Every year, on the colorful fall day of September 29th, Sacramento Waldorf School hosts a festival
where good triumphs and evil parishes. Young girls and boys eagerly dress up as knights, to help
Saint George and Saint Michael conquer and tame the malicious dragon, through good actions and
deeds. Along with fun activities, caramel apples, and motivating spirit, Michaelmas is a special
way to prepare students for the challenging academic year ahead.
Michaelmas is a whole school event, where grades first through twelve are assigned a different
role, to put on a show that has its own unique twist each time. The roles include villagers (played by
first through fourth grade), Knights (played by the fifth grade) the dragon (Played by the sixth grade
), Lords and nobles (played by seventh through eleventh grade) and lastly, Saint George and Saint
Michael (played by twelfth graders). The story told is a classic good vs. evil, preformed inside a
giant circle, created by everyone attending the festival. A town of poor villages are fearful of a
dragon, who is merciless and cruel. One day, the dragon attacks the village, leaving the villagers
desperate and frightened. All the noble knights flee in fear, except for one, Saint George. Saint
George bravely faces the dragon, but instead of using his sword, he kneels and prays to saint
Michael to give him wisdom and strength. Michael appears out of the heavens, and empowers Saint
George, with courage, and kindness. Saint George

Southwest Airlines Marketing
1.Describe the various promotion elements that Southwest Airlines uses in its integrated marketing
communications.
Southwest Airlines has effectively used a variety of promotional elements in its integrated
marketing communications, making it one of America s largest airlines with 3,300 flights a day to
72 domestic cities. Southwest Airlines has used all four possible elements of the promotion mix:
advertising, public relations, personal selling, and sales promotion, but has focused primarily on
advertising and public relations to add value to the product offered to customers. Its focus on
advertising and public relations is directly related to its large size and it s nationwide reach. Also,
advertising and public relations are the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Southwest Airlines flight crews regularly contribute to the company s promotional activities
through building the Southwest brand, engaging the target market, and enhancing Southwest
Airlines beyond the budget flight.
Building the Brand: Southwest Airlines is well known as a Texas based company that has a human
side and a down home attitude. Because of its large size, Southwest Airlines uses a variety of larger
promotional methods, such as national advertisements and strong public relations to promote an
image of a fun LUVing brand. But, flight crews are the closest interactions that a customer has with
the product, budget flights, which are a simple, undistinguished product. The quirky commercials
and cheap flights appeal to a target market that is budget conscious but still enjoys the fun side of
life. The flight crews bridge the gap between the fun, unique commercials and the actual flight
experience. By interacting with customers and joking around with passengers, they are able to
grow customer allegiance in this market by acting in the same way that the brand has tried to
portray itself.
Engaging the target market: Southwest Airlines attracts both budget conscious customers and those
who are looking to have an interesting travel experience. Oftentimes, these two targets overlap as
one market. The flight crews are supposed to display a Warrior Spirit, a Servant s Heart, and a Fun
LUVing attitude, which is intended to engage the flight crew with the

All the sacrifice of giving up the last bit of innocence of a normal teenager s day in a job to help with the financial issues of paying for the supplies requires for that education that was restricted back home. • 3. Light Fidelity (Li-Fi) INTRODUCTION For years, infrared LED has been merely a system for piping light around corners and into the inaccessible places to allow the hidden to be lighted. But now, infrared LED has evolved into a system of significantly greater importance and use. Throughout the world, it is now being used to transmit voice, television and data signals as light waves. It was a close battle against Johny Hendricks, after which he won by decision and promptly stepped away from the UFC. There have been moments where fans thought they might see his return, but none of those were as real as challenging Bisping for the title. There were many rumors circulating about his delay from returning, but the only person who really has the answers is St Pierre himself. St Pierre won 12 straight fights from 2007 to 2013, a time in which he absolutely ruled the welterweight division. The only two losses on his record, to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, he avenged in convincing fashion. Based on standard BOD measurement, the oxygen demand measured is usually influenced by the following three (3) phenomena: I.Oxygen demand by breakdown of soluble carbonaceous matter. II.Oxygen demand by breakdown of suspended particulate carbonaceous matter. III.Oxygen demand by oxidation of ammonia to nitrate by nitrifying bacteria present in the effluent sample. After undergoing biological treatment in the secondary reactor, residual soluble carbonaceous BOD matter present in the effluent reduces in concentration to below 15 mg/L. Subsequently, nitrifying bacteria populations tend to grow rapidly feeding on ammonia which is present in the partially treated sewage. Nitrification may not be complete at levels of 5 mg/l of residual soluble carbonaceous biodegradable matter. It depends on whether sufficient oxygen is available for the oxidation of ammonia to nitrate. Hence, all BOD5 measurements shall adopt nitrification inhibition step to ensure that the carbonaceous oxygen demand is reflected accurately in the overall BOD measurement. 3.3HEAVY METALS (AAS) The term heavy metal refers to any metallic chemical element that has a relatively high density and is toxic or poisonous at low concentrations. Throughout The Lottery , Mrs. Hutchinson displays two main traits. First, Mrs. Hutchinson displays being carefree. Mrs. Hutchinson was very calm when she walked up to the crowd as she said, Clean forgot what day it was (Jackson). This shows how common an ordeal the lotterywas in their way of life. The lottery did not seem to make anyone super nervous. This shows how Mrs. Hutchinson developed as a character throughout the story. Mrs. Hutchinson was also frightened. When Mr. Hutchinson unfolded his slip of paper Tessie began to scream of unfairness (Jackson). Mrs. Hutchinson shows how frightened she is for her life because she knows that she has a higher chance of dying once her husband is shown with the only special slip of paper. Another character in The Lottery is Mr. Summers.Mr. Summers shows two main traits while in the story as well. Mr. Summers is a married man, without children, that ...[has the] time and energy to devote to civic activities , which makes him responsible in his town(Jackson). This is important to the story because he is the proctor of an age old tradition that kills people. Mr. Summers almost acts as if The Lottery is just like any other community event like a county fair. He acts with no remorse because it is traditional to have the lottery. Mr. Summers also is traditional. As he is setting up for the lottery to begin, he remembers and performs a lot of rituals that occur during this event like using the same black drawing box or calling up each male head of household or making up the family lists after everyone was gathered (Jackson). Mr. Summers is knit picky about what happens as the day moves along because if anything goes wrong, he is responsible and could possibly be disciplined for the mistake. If there was a mistake the result could quite possibly be death because that is the whole purpose of the lottery, to rid the community of a person, by stoning. The book tries to tell us about the failed attempt of Nazis to formulate female image for gender policies and to prove their pride and success in the fashion industry of Europe so that they could establish its control on the fashion industry and portray modernization of women in Germany which unfortunately was not the case. Education was primarily for a wealthy upper class, who regardless of work ethic or true intelligence, had safety nets of incredibly well off families often with money to spare. As noted in Matthew Pearl s The Technologists, along with Bruce Sinclair and Merritt Roe Smiths articles on MIT s foundation, Harvard and other schools for this elite class focused on a purely knowledge based learning system; while MIT attempted to introduce a more technical education combining pure science along with practical applications of technology, thus ushering in a new style of technical education.
