since its very starting. Then after 2003 04, it started using computers at some of its offices to maintain the data as manual maintenance was going out of
order. But they were not using any customized solution (customized business software suit) for this purpose instead they were simply using Microsoft Office
for maintaining their data and information, wherein they were storing data but the processing was almost negligible because of limited functionality of these
applications. Since Tata Consultancy Services has already automated many of the government and non government organizations with the best of the
customized functional solutions in the recent past, the first name that came in the minds of the management of the department was of TCS. After the approval

Why Is Running Important To Me
All of us have had at least one moment or event that has changed our lives for the better or the worse. This can take place through sports, dramatic events, etc.
Many events have shaped me into the person I am today. Running has been the main activity in my life that has had an impact in shaping my life. In both
cross country and track I have learned many lessons that will help me throughout my entire life. Through running I have not only gained exemplary health
and a close group of friends, but I have also obtained certain qualities and traits that have made me a better person. One very important lesson I learned was
that to be even the slightest bit successful at running, or at anything, one has to put in a tremendous amount of hard work

Reflection About Discipleship Relationship
Throughout the past few months, the Lord blessed me with the opportunity to begin discipleship relationships with two amazing people. To begin with, I had
the opportunity to disciple a young girl who I have known her whole life. Our connection had been previously established, but after these past few months we
ve spent together our relationship has strengthened and gained a depth that I never thought possible. From the beginning, we created a trustworthy
environment that allowed for vulnerability and a deep connection. She felt safe to share with me personal details that she used to be hesitant to share and our
friendship grew.
Beyond discipling someone, I also had the blessing and joy of getting to know my aunt better and have her disciple me. Much like my relationship with the
young girl I was discipling, I have known her my whole life thus we already had a decent connection, but I wasn t prepared for development I would
experience throughout this relationship. Being as we re family, we easily connected from the beginning. It was certainly a click relationship . From the first
meeting we had, we were able to be open and honest with each other, and I was able to share with her secrets and feelings that I never thought I would. We
connected so well with each other and, for that, I am so grateful.
Moving back to the young girl I was discipling, I m extremely thankful for the spiritual connection that we had. We had grown up in the same church and had
a similar family and

Red Fire Descriptive Writing
As I was walking back to my attendance line coming from lunch I saw a glimpse of the shiny red fire alarm. Hey Mason! I quickly turned to see who was
calling to me. It was my friend Logan. Logan and I have been neighbors for about 5 years, and ever since he moved we had been really good friends. Because
our last names were close in alphabetical order, we also ended up standing next to each other in attendance lines. We were staring out the window wishing we
could be outside playing on the play structure or exploring the courtyard when he asked a question that was totally out of the blue. I dare you to pull the fire
alarm Logan urged. This took me aback. I turned my attention to the bright red fire alarm with its clear case, just asking to be yanked down with all my might.
I look back at Logan and asked, What s in it for me? Logan pondered this question, and after a little thought he responded with If you pull that fire alarm right

Challenge Power Mediums
Music has the ability to both support and challenge power. This paper will look specifically at how certain mediums attempt to challenge power. There is
more than one way to challenge power, but this paper will explain three main mediums. The three mediums that will be analyzed include: lyrics, genre and
performance venue/context. Lets first start with lyrics ability to challenge power. The lyrics of a song are what work specifically with the audience to give
meaning. It is the words people hear that give them the easiest insight in to what the artist s intentions were with regards to overall meaning and purpose.
Think about the following lyrics, We live in a political world/Love don t have any place, (Political World, Bob Dylan). These lyrics by Bob Dylan are stating
that because of the state of the world, love no longer has a place in it, so there is only hate. They are a direct challenge against the political ideologies,
specifically those that Bob Dylan doesn t agree with. Lyrics like these have the ability to directly contest power by simply using words that allow the audience
to understand the meaning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Musical genres such as reggae, which is associated with the Rastafarian movement, have specific association, no matter the song or singer. American Folk, to
name another, has been associated with protest songs for civil rights, anti war, and many others. Because these genres are associated with specific movements
or protests that challenge power, people who listen to them know they have meaning. Artists and the audience both understand that if they are going to listen
or perform as an American folk singer, people expect the song to have meaning that attempts to challenge power of some form. People will go listen to certain
genres of music because they know that that specific genre will agree with their political, religious or any other

Sexual Assault And Assault Response And Prevention Program
History Sexual assault has plagued the military since its inception. The chain of command (COC) is responsible for maintaining the good order and conduct
of our service members (SMs). Unfortunately, the U.S. military has not been able to effectively combat the occurrences of sexual assault. Billions of taxpayer
dollars have been thrown at the problem, programs have been implemented and task forces have been mobilized. To combat this epidemic, the Sexual
Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program (SHARP) is the U.S. military s main effort. SHARP is designed to promote advocacy and provide
support for victims of sexual assault, in order to decrease or eliminate the instances of sexual assault among SMs. However, the problem of ... Show more

Removing the authority from the victim s COC is believed to reduce bias and the fear of retaliation by commanding officers (COs). Within 180 days of the
enactment of the bill, administrative hierarchies will convene to create policies and procedures to adhere to the mandates of S.1752. Within the deadline,
policies and procedures will be disseminated to the lowest level in memorandum format (Military Justice Improvement Act, 2013). Victims of sexual assault
are intended to be empowered to safely and confidentially report a crime to their COC and be assured that justice will be served without reprisal. S.1752 is
designed to protect SMs who are victims of sexual assault from a corrupt or neglectful COC by removing their authority in the matter.
Policy Analysis A systematic analysis of S.1752 is essential to forecasting potential intended and untended consequences of the bill. Context will also be
considered to ensure a balanced and unbiased bill analysis. If the bill is enacted, it will become law until amended or repealed. The extent to which this bill
will accomplish it s purpose of removing the authority of sexual assault cases from COs in the victim s COC is currently unknown. If enacted, S.1752 will be
enforced by prosecutors under the authority of the UCMJ. The economic feasibility is difficult to quantify because much of the data is based on

novel, the color yellow is associated with wealth which Fitzgerald develops in order to associate the color with Gatsby by having it be the color of his car and
be very present at his parties. Affairs/Cheating Tom and Myrtle, and Gatsby and Daisy. In the novel, affairs are very prevalent and are associated with
characters of wealth who do not find love in what they own and cheat in order to try and satisfy themselves. White white Georgian Colonial mansion

Daisy via the car she drives and the clothes she wears which is ironic due to the fact that she loves not her husband Tom, but Gatsby.
2. One example of irony is when Tom states, Nowadays people begin by sneering at family life and family institutions, and next they ll throw everything
overboard and have intermarriage between black and white. His statement is ironic because he is accusing people of not following traditional American values
while he himself is having an affair with Myrtle. Another example of irony is when Myrtle was run over by Gatsby s car and Tom believes it was Gatsby who
was driving, but it was actually Daisy who,

Being in a very high competitive business condition, a company has to be well prepared for every potential business problem. One of the problems is for a
company which will do such a business expansion, they need to spend huge amount of money to make some new investments. For instance, they need to have
new capital assets to run their new business.
Due to the huge amount of money they have to spend, the company usually does not provide a bundle of cash from their own pocket to get those kinds of new
capital assets. To provide the new capital assets needed, the company has some alternative solutions they can choose. Those ... Show more content on

5. Economic risk and maintenance cost are responsibility of lessee
6. Lessor expects to obtain all of the carrying cost of the leased asset back, including the other costs (interest, tax, insurance, maintenance cost, etc)
The advantages and disadvantages of leasing as an alternative of capital source are as follow
The advantages:
1. Full financing : leasing transaction is usually done without any down payment and the financing can be given up to 100%
2. More flexible : leasing is said to be flexible compared to banking loan because the rental payment can be arranged and matched to lessee ability
3. Off balance sheet : activa that is included into leasing category is not listed in the company asset
4. Consideration of technology advance : the company is avoided from the loss due to the fast growth of technology
5. Incerase Debt Capacity
The disadvantages:
1. Force major
It is the cancellation of leasing transaction, for example due to a fire or natural disaster.
2. Default
It is the cancellation of leasing transaction because the lessee is not able to pay the lease payment and other leasing liability so that finance lease contract is

Stein And Stryker Summary
Stein and Stryker respond to two important challenges within the field: Stein responds to the struggle of finding a methodology of historiography that allows
for a distinction to be drawn between popular conceptions and lived experiences of sex, gender, sexuality, love, marriage and family, while Stryker unravels
the complexity of the register of the discourse, specifically when defining the taxonomies of gender, sex and sexuality.
The former is significant because given that sexuality and sex were considered to be parts of the private sphere of the lives of individuals, it is hard to find
reliable, primary sources on which to base a historical timeline on. In addition, finding sources originating from both institutions of power and individuals

The Heroes Of The American West
Every society has its heroes, and often those heroes are identified with a group which is revered and idolized for its bravery in defense of the noble objectives
of the society. In the American West, that group has for many years been the Cowboys. Whether defending women and children against the threats from
Native American Indians or other armed villains, or participating in one on one duels (or draws) against the outlaws, the Cowboys have been regarded as
warriors who are the symbols of protection and heroism. In Arthurian society, that role of warrior was played by the Knights. There are many parallels
between the modern Cowboy and the medieval Knight, and I agree with Felicity Riddy who observed that [t]he medieval knight is like ... Show more content

They needed such a large hat to protect their faces from the sun while riding in the western heat. The bandana around their necks was to help them breathe
amid all the dust, and the chaps on their pants were to help them ride their horses and carry their guns. Anyone who sees a picture of a person attired in this
way immediately identifies that person as a cowboy and associates them with characteristics of adventure and bravery.
The same can be said for the medieval Knight. In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Sir Gawain s armor is described in great detail by the author to
emphasize the importance of it. When Sir Gawain is leaving to go face the Green Knight, he is described putting on, the great pile of gilded war gear
glittered...complete with knee pieces, polished bright and connecting at the knee with gold knobbed hinges. All the decoration and gold accents on his armor
signify how important and wealthy he was. To indicate his status as Knight, he carries his shield with a pentangle. The Pentangle is proper to this prince of
knights...therefore it goes with Sir Gawain and his gleaming armour...Gawain was reputed good and, like gold well refined, He was devoid of all villainy,
every virtue displaying in the field. Sir Gawain s armor not only identified him as a Knight but specifically by name and honor. These appearances of the
Knight and Cowboy became so recognizable that they became symbolic. The mere mention of a Cowboy s hat

John Quincy Adams was the only son of a president to become president. He had an impressive political background that began at the age of fourteen. He was

President James Madison then appointed him to minister to Russia in 1809. He continued to serve his country and gained a well respected reputation. Adding
to his reputation was his brilliant and tough minded performance as chief American peace commissioner in the negotiations at Gent that ended the War of

A Summary Of The Salem Witchcraft Trials
The Reason For Mostly Women Being Accused of Witchcraft The Salem Witchcraft trials was an outrageous event that began in 1692, and ended May of
1693 seeing the execution of many people. Unfortunately most of the victims of this phenomenon were women. For the most part these women were accused
for very trivial reasons, such as for being widowed, being of old age and living alone, or for simply collecting herbs and other plants. During this time in
history women and men were treated very differently both as they should contribute in the home and in society, this would have presented reasons as to why
women were predominantly accused of witchcraft, along with any religious beliefs. The Crucible by Arthur Miller takes place at a time of a patriarchal
society, the roles of men and women were different, along with how they were treated overall in society. This contributed to the stereotype of women being
the ones predominantly associated with witchcraft. When having different roles and expectations for men and women there are problems that arise. Such as
the fact that if women were to stray from the social norm in Salem, then they would be suspected or accused of being involved with witchcraft. They were
expected to attend to domestic duties such as spinning, sewing, preserving food, animal husbandry, cooking, cleaning, and raising the children. Further, A
responsible housewife would also manage the family budget which would lead to manufacturing things such as textiles and

Mesopotamian Civilizations
By looking in the past, us humans can learn about how we evolved as a species over time. Two of the most studied civilizations are the Egyptian and
Mesopotamian civilizations. Even though each civilization arose in different locations and time periods, both river system civilizations are mainly similar
regarding religion, art, writing, and architectural styles; except for a few slight differences that are unique to each civilization. Both the Egyptian and
Mesopotamian civilizations were strongly reliant on religion, and this led both civilizations to believe in a polytheistic religion system. The Egyptian and
Mesopotamian populations believed in many gods, and associated their gods with the natural forces that existed around them. For example, ... Show more

For example, the Egyptians are most commonly known for their large architectural projects which required an enormous labor force. Some examples include
the Three Pyramids at Giza, where Khufu, Menkaure, and Khafre were buried, The Great Sphinx, and the Stepped Pyramid at Saqqara. Likewise, the only
Mesopotamian structure that can compare to the size of the pyramids is the ziggurat. Significance wise, both were built for religious purposes, as the ziggurat
is a place of worship and pyramids were built to immortalize the kings. Both the Egyptians and Mesopotamians developed their own forms of writing,
Hieroglyphics and Cuneiform, respectively. Hieroglyphics is the more complex of the two, consisting of pictograms, phonograms, and determinatives, and
symbols can hold a variety of meanings depending on the context of what is being written. When looking at art forms, you can learn many things about
societal order and hierarchy. For example, when looking at Egyptian monolithic statues, you can see clear differences in social status just by structure and
build of the piece. Kings and important officials had their statue carved out of stone materials, like granite, while lesser figures were carved in wood. Kings
often had perfect physique in their sculptures, while scribes often looked lethargic and naturalistic. More important figures even had a

Silky Sifaka Research Paper
The silky sifaka (Propithecus candidus), or silky simpona, is a large lemur characterized by long, silky white fur. It has a very restricted range in northeastern
Madagascar, where it is known locally as the simpona. It is one of the rarest mammals on Earth, and is listed by the International Union for Conservation of
Nature (IUCN) as one of the world s 25 most critically endangered primates. The silky sifaka is one of nine sifaka species (genus Propithecus), and one of
four former subspecies of diademed sifaka (P. diadema). Studies in 2004 and 2007 compared external proportions, genetics, and cranio dental anatomy
supporting full species status, which has generally been accepted. The silky sifaka has a variable social structure, and lives in groups of two to nine
individuals. It spends most of its day feeding and resting, though it also devotes a considerable amount of time to social behaviors, such as playing and
grooming, as well as traveling. Females occasionally take priority over males during feeding. Like other eastern sifakas, it consumes mainly leaves and seeds,
but also fruit, flowers, and even soil on occasion. It is a seasonal breeder and only mates one day a year during the start of the rainy season. As with other
sifaka species, non maternal infant care is common. Group members of all ages and both sexes will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Mansa Musa Facts
Mansa Musa
Before Mansa Musa took the thrown, there was not really known about him. It was only until 1312 when he took the thrown from his father Abu Bakr II,
people started to know the young Musa when he inherited the title Mansa. 1312 is a year that many will not forget, because of the generous king s progressive
ideas and how he was loved by his people. His reach stretched over two thousand miles. He was known by many different names like Emir of Melle , Lord of
the Conqueror of Ghanata , or Lion of Mali (newtonic learnodo.com). But he was mostly known by the name Mansa Musa, which means the King of Kings
As West Africa s first Muslim King, he ensured peace for decades. He was loved by many, not only for his grace but for the large sums of money and gold
that we would give out to charitable organizations. Even though he was the richest king in history, he believed that most of his wealth should be shared with
vast amounts of people. Even though Mansa Musa was a ruler, there were many times where he did not act as a King.
The Mansa was also the first ruler to travel over four thousand to the city of Mecca. On this pilgrimage, he stopped at many large cities along his way,
including Cairo, Medina, and other Arab cities. Years of planning and hundreds of people preparing, he made the journey with large sums of gold. But he was
not going to leave his palace and kingdom to be left alone while he was gone. He got a large group of men for the year to run the kingdom,

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe was one book out of a collection that reveals The Chronicles of Narnia. It was written by Clive Staples Lewis, better
known as Jack Lewis. In this story, Lewis uses his characters to address several key points of interest such as: betrayal, forgiveness, and pride. Lewis uses
these key points to reflect on Christian themes. This essay will compare Deep and Deeper Magic from the Dawn of Time , the significance of the cracking of
the Stone Table, and the role playing of prophecies. It will discuss how this story is a supposal, an example of symbolism, and how it could be called just

Edmund s character is a representation of man because we do sinful deeds, but we are never too far gone that redemption is not an option. The story displays
this when Edmund is being mean and deceitful and then slowly transforms into an admirable, brave warrior. When the witch was defeated Peter says, It was
all Edmund s doing, Aslan. We d have been beaten if it hadn t been for him (p.195).
Aslan, the lion king epitomizes the greatness of Narnia and the creatures that it inhabits. Aslan displays Christ like traits by having power that is unmatched
and being unquestionably benevolent. He shows forgiveness after rescuing Edmund from the White Witch. Aslan tells his brother and sisters, Here is your
brother and there is no need to talk to him about what is past (p.153).
Just as Christ separates our transgressions from as far as the east is from the west. Later, he sacrifices his life for Edmund, just as Christ sacrificed his life for
all of mankind. This sacrificial expression was governed by the mystical laws set forth by The Emperor Beyond The Sea.
The Emperor Beyond The Sea is Aslan s father. He is the ultimate God of Narnia and has been around since before the dawn of time. He has set forth mystical
laws that govern the creatures of Narnia just as God did in the beginning. There was the word and the word was with God.

Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna
Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was born in Jalapa, Veracruz Mexico, on February 21, 1794. He belongs to a criollo middle class family. His parents were from
Spain. He was a Mexican politician and military leader who was President of Mexico eleven times from 1833 to 1855. He was president officially six times,
and unofficially five more. He was also a disastrous president of Mexico because he lost Texas and much more of the current American west in the United
States. However, by far he was an important figure of his generation in the Mexican history. Many people love him during his first years of president, and he
was remembered for two major conflicts, the Battle of the Alamo in 1836 during the Texas Revolution, and as a restored Mexican leader during the Mexican
American War in 1847 (tshaonline.org).
The prestige of Santa Anna in 1829 helped him to gain the presidency in 1833. In 1829 he fought against Spain s attempt to conquer Mexico, and after his
victory everyone looked at him as a good leader. His victory from Spain makes him immediately turn over power. At that time the vice president was Valentín
Gómez Farías, and allowed him to make some reforms, including many that aimed at the Catholic Church and the army. Because the people of Mexico do not
accept his reforms, Santa Anna stepped in and removed Gómez Farías from power, and consequently he gained the presidency in 1833 as a Federalist and
opponent of Roman Catholic Church. He was in power from 1833 to 1836

The Us Strategy For Winning The Global War On Terrorism
In light of this, it should be mentioned that the US strategy for winning the Global War on Terrorism is predicated on creating an international environment
inhospitable to terrorists and all those who support them (Fogarty 2001). Meaning, that the fight against terrorism heavily relies on international cooperation.
In order to achieve such a feat, nevertheless, America must be amiable by fellow governments and their citizens. Unfortunately, the reports and findings on
GTMO makes it increasingly difficult for the American administration to do so, for the inhumane treatment makes citizens of other countries upset. Quoting
General Colin Powell, people from other nation states are beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism (Duberstein as cited in Washington

perspective, one can take a look at the situation with Turkey and Russia. Earlier this year, a Russian jet was shot down by Turkey, having flown into the latter

Google s Effect On Our Brain Essay
Google s effect on our brain
In the July August 2008 Atlantic magazine, Nicholas Carr published Is Google Making Us Stupid? (http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200807/google). In this
article Nicolas Carr argues that the internet is changing how one thinks, and how it is causing a bad effect on one s brain. I have to disagree. Although the
internet is constantly changing, it helps in a positive way. Firstly, google has become a great resource for educational purposes. Secondly, the internet has
become a great resource for intercultural experiences. Due to the general population spending most of their time on computer s and smart phones, this
information is accessible to us whenever needed.
Carr s entire argument is how the internet is making the population weak minded, which is easily clearly arguable with the resources available to us now.
Some examples of resources are online school, library databases, educational games, daily newspapers, and even books are now sold online and school is
being provided online to be more accessible to us. The hyperlinks that Carr mentions in his article as we power browse (1), in fact the internet/google is more
helpful in going further into a subject being studied. For instance if someone is trying to research a sickness, the search starts with google, entering the
sickness which leads them to an article, possibly Wikipedia, then a hyperlink is introduced to a subject they aren t educated on, one would read further to gain

Essay On Henry Rifle
The original Henry rifle was a sixteen shot .44 caliber rimfire, lever action, breech loading rifle patented by Benjamin Tyler Henry in 1860 after three years of
design work.[1] The Henry was an improved version of the earlier Volition Repeating Rifle. The Henry used copper (later brass) rimfire cartridges with a 216
grain (14.0 gram, 0.490 ounce) bullet over 25 grains (1.6 g, 0.056 oz.) of gunpowder. Production was very small (150 to 200 a month) until middle of 1864.
Nine hundred were manufactured between summer and October 1862; by 1864, production had peaked at 290 per month, bringing the total to 8,000
manufactured.[2] By the time production ended in 1866, approximately 14,000 units had been manufactured. For a Civil War soldier, owning a Henry rifle
was a point of pride.[3] Letters home would call them Sixteen or Seventeen Shooters, depending whether a round was loaded in the chamber.[citation needed]
The US Government purchased about 3,140 (early ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soldiers who saved their pay to buy one believed it would help save their lives. Since tactics had not been developed to take advantage of their firepower,

armed Confederates who had to face this deadly sixteen shooter , it was called a rifle that you could load on Sunday and shoot all week long. [6] Those few
Confederate troops who came into possession of captured Henry rifles had little way to resupply the special ammunition used by the weapon, making its
widespread use by Confederate forces impractical. The rifle was, however, known to have been used at least in part by some fifteen different Confederate
units in Louisiana, Texas, and Virginia, as well as the personal bodyguards of Confederate President Jefferson

Electronic Medical Records ( Emr )
Information Technology Technology plays a vital role on the overall productivity of a medical practice. Electronic medical records (EMR) are commonly used
by both large and small practices. They offer practices an efficient mean of storing patient data; furthermore, the government offer incentives for meaningful
use of electronic medical records. Generally when it comes to implementing an EMR, it is necessary to choose the right vendor. EMRs usually fall into three
vendor systems: single vendor, best of breed, and best of suite. The single vendor strategy offers the most cost effective strategy for a small single specialty
practice because it combines both the administrative and clinical aspect of the practice; thus, allowing for a single contract with the vendor (Naleef, Ozcan,
and DeShazo, 2012). The other two vendor strategies, while offering more flexibility, tend to require increase staffing, which may be too costly for a small
practice. Electronic medical records are not sufficient enough to efficiently run a medical practice; therefore, other information technology is required.
Computerized provider order entry (CPOE), is another information technology that will be implemented. Prescription errors are common causes of medical
errors, which can have adverse effect on the patient and lead to malpractice litigation against the practice. The CPOE software can be integrated within an
already established EMR system; within the CPOE, physicians are able to prescribe

The Battle Of The War
World War One was the cause of over eleven million military personnel deaths. Six million of those came from the side of the Triple Entente, or Allies. New
fighting strategies that emphasized throwing more and more men into the fight only exacerbated the problem. Military leaders on the side of the Allies failed
to adapt and sacrificed the lives of many that could have been avoided. Based on concrete evidence that was collected, this was a major factor in high casualty
numbers during the war because of the use of outdated tactics, pre determined mindsets of leaders, and the continued use of strategies that were ineffective.
A popular form of war fighting was based in cavalry charges that rapidly declined in effectiveness throughout the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result of this, artillery did not have as destructive effect that the Allies wanted. This lack of knowledge and ignorant assumptions did not account for
many Allied casualties but it did not decrease the number of enemy troops to where the Allies had an advantage (Axelrod, 94). This battle could have been a
major success for the Allies with much fewer casualties had the military leaders knew what they were up against. Too many times during the war, tactical
preparations before battles were slim and military leaders decided to attack based on previously accurate knowledge; only to find out that this war changed
every minute and the enemy was changing as well. This military incompetence can also be seen in the Battle of Verdun in 1916. General Pétain s plan during
the battle was described as this: Every parcel of land which might be seized by the enemy will give rise to an immediate counter attack (Malcolm, ch 8). This
bold, yet ineffective strategy allowed for hundreds of thousands of French soldiers to lose their lives over the course of the battle. Pétain simply wanted to
keep throwing men at the Germans who were armed with much better weapons that did nothing but increase the intensity of the war of attrition. Although the
men who died on the battlefield were very brave and committed to winning the war, they were following blind leadership. Overall, Verdun was a strategic win
but a tactical failure that only contributed to the

Marketing to Baby Boomers Essays
Consisting of 77.2 million people, baby boomers people born between 1946 and 1964 represent a prized, yet often misunderstood, demographic for online
marketers. In fact, they represent the largest group within the U.S. Internet population at 56.7 million users, a full 29.4 percent of all Internet users. So why is
there such confusion about how to effectively market to them? A recent report from the online market research firm eMarketer, Boomers Online: Attitude Is
Everything, addresses this issue.
The first hurdle for online marketers targeting boomers is the disparity in age that can exist within the group. This has led many marketers to divide the group
into two distinct segments: older boomers (those born between 1946 and 1954) and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Individuals 65 and older still make up less than 10 percent of the active Internet universe. However, their numbers are on the rise. In the last five years, the
number of seniors actively using the Internet has increased by more than 55 percent, from 11.3 million active users in November 2004 to 17.5 million in

The largest percentage increase in Internet use since 2005 has been in the 70 to 75 age group, according to the Pew Internet and American Life Project. The
survey found that 45 percent of that age bracket is online, compared with 26 percent in 2005. Researching health information is the third most popular online

What Is Commodity Fetishism
In Marxism, the value of things, commodities, are based on the money it can be sold for, or the other commodities it can be traded for (exchange value), or the
social status it confers to its owner (sign exchange value), rather than valued for how it is used (use value). For an object to become a commodity it has to
have exchange value or sign exchange value, which is determined by the society where the object it is exchanged. This economic relationship between
commodities and their exchange value or sign exchange value is called commodity fetishism. To understand this theory better we can employ it to The Age of
Innocence. Early in the novel, Newland emphasize the significance of his means of travel: ..transported through the slippery,

Social Constructs And Its Effect On Society
From the beginning of recorded history, especially in nature, some form of racism and sexism have existed. They may have no be referred by these terms but
evidence exists in many forms. Birth determinants like the sex (male/female) and gender (masculine/feminine) of a person are used to determine the
individual s appearance and behavior in a specific time and place. These social constructs are ideologies that hold meaning to a concrete society because the
society itself renders them meaningful; they do not necessarily exist but are enforced upon the masses disguised as a necessary norm. It serves a purpose; to
solidify an idea that serves as a norm. Whoever doesn t conform to it is considered deviant. It is definitely not beneficial to all ... Show more content on

Unfair treatment of human beings is a crime against humanity because every person should have the right to dress, talk, live, peruse what feels right for them
and not being limited to what the society propels as being the right thing to do. People fail to realize that there are being violated, and unconsciously accept
the violation as a norm. Two of the most notorious social constructs are racial and sexual classification of human beings. People are treated with the utmost
disrespect, are ostracized and denied basic human rights/life chances such as education, housing, health care based on their race, gender and sexual
orientation. Karl Marx, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Michel Foucault, Erving Goffman conjure up theories that sheds light on the fact that racial and
sexual classifications are social constructs set in place to ensure that the elite gets the power they desire. The elite, a select group that holds superiority over
others use social constructs as way to control the masses and gain more power. They do so by relying on people s sense of knowledge and truth. According to
Foucault, a French philosopher and a social theorist, knowledge is power Foucault uses the term power/knowledge to demonstrate the fact that power is built
through acceptance of some sort of knowledge, scientific understanding and truth (Foucault 1998). Eeach society has their own sets of truths which they abide
by; acceptance of that truth makes it powerful. The one who has the

Theories Of Discourse Ethics
1. Discourse ethics is a branch of ethics that attempts to establish or understand ethical truths by examining conceptions and presuppositions that we have
about the nature of language. It is important in a course like Philosophy of Human Communication because it is applied when there are at least two speaking
subjects engaged in the to and fro of human dialogue. 2. Walter Kaufmann says the manifold is frightening because the nature of reality is manifold or
unsettled, chaotic, or multi faceted. This is why people feel dread when they have a wealth of possibilities (Kaufmann, 1996, pg. 9). People would much
rather have fewer choices, which is why we can point to religion and how there is a good, and evil. There are two choices to make and they offer a single
choice that is easy to make because the other is a path that is condemned to live in eternal hell. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mundus vult decipi means the world wants to be deceived (Kaufmann, 1996, pg. 9). The truth is too complex and frightening so we lie to ourselves in order to
cover over the frightening manifold of things. Kaufmann discusses the hierarchy of deceptions on the higher level we find fictions that men eagerly believe,
regardless of the evidence, because they gratify some wish. Close to the top of the ladder people encounter curious mixtures of untruth and truth that exert a
lasting fascination on the intellectual community (Kaufmann, 1996, pg. 10). 4. Thinking in terms of dualisms can be explained simply by saying we see things
in terms of dichotomous categories. These categories such as good and evil, right and wrong, true and false, mind and body, man and woman. When you think
of dualisms such as right and wrong there is always one side that is superior to the other. Good is superior to bad just as truth is superior to something that is
false. If we break reality down in a dualist approach we can create the illusion that we have control over reality. We have control of

A. Systems of Backyard Poultry Production
The raising of poultry mainly fulfills the purposes of meat, eggs and feather production, and sometimes for religious ceremonies (Scanes et al., 2004). Poultry
are efficient converters of feed to food. Food of poultry origin serves the highest nutritional values, with egg being not only delicious but extremely nutritious
and balance of all nutrients (Scanes et al., 2004).
Poultry plays very important role for mankind through food supply, income and employment generation, providing raw materials to some industries,
facilitating research works etc. Family poultry makes up to 80 percent of poultry stocks in low income food deficit countries (Pym et al., 2006) where owners
raise poultry in small numbers ranging from single birds up to a few hundred.
Backyard poultry rearing also finds an important role to raise indigenous birds free of stress and harmful residues (Khandekar 2003, Mandal et al. 2006). ...

An Concept Of A Learning Disability
Firstly, it is interesting the concept of a learning disability individuals think of immediately which is a dysfunction of the human brain not quite working

Organizational learning disabilities are flaws such as lack of communication or a bridge in the gap which some type of operational system is not quite
working properly. In addition, the thought of a Fortune 500 company having a learning disability is hard to grasp because of the success that they measure at.
To be more specific Walmart is known to be the large corporation the world. According to the Fortune 500 organization, Walmart was ranked number one for
the largest and highest net worth out of all corporations. But even the largest and the most successful companies have its flaws. After all, how do
organizations learn if mistakes do not occur? It is obvious when walking into a Walmart store, regardless of the location, there seems to be a few concerning
issues that involve both the employees and the customers. Walmart leadership seem be lacking communication as they choose not to hear the screaming cries
of their very own employees. Because of Walmart s efforts to save money by paying low salaries and under staffing their super stores it has led to poor
employee satisfaction, not to mention the unfavorable ratings are trickling down to its customers. This paper

Dr. Strange Love Conspiracy Theory
I must say that Dr. Strange Love is my favorite movie we have watched thus far.
There are many interesting aspects to this movie. First I found it interesting that the paranoid ultra nationalist Brigadier General, Who orders the nuclear strike
is named Jack D Ripper. When read and when spoken the name sounds incredibly similar to serial killer Jack the Ripper. I truly don t think this was
coincidental. The movie was filmed at Shepperton Studios near London, Whitechapel , the neighbor in which the serial killer mostly stalked is also in
London. Perhaps this was Kubrick s way of framing members of the military industrial complex during the Cold War as serial killers. Instead of brandishing
surgical knives, they are detonating nuclear weapons. This theory is furthered by the fact that President Muffley refers to Ripper as a psychopath and
repeatedly uses the term mass murder. Furthermore, in a scene with Mandrake, Ripper states he denies women his essence. The physical nature of sexual
intercourse and his wariness of it, drives Ripper s irrational impulse to guard the purity of his bodily fluids against ideological incursion. It seems that Ripper
s conspiracy theory is born of misogyny. This is intriguing because Jack the Ripper exclusively killed women involved in ... Show more content on

Western Montana Fires
Final Report: The Fires of 1910: The Big Burn
In the summer of 1910 Northern Idaho and Western Montana were hit by what seemed like a never ending series of destructive forest fires. With the spring
bringing hardly any rainfall and drying winds from the Columbia plains, creeks began to disappear and the montane forests became dry. Intense heat along
with high winds and dry vegetation create the perfect environment for forest fires. In June and July several dry electric storms hit the mountains and fires
began to develop in isolated corners of the forest. The U.S. Forest Service which had just been developed in 1905 consisted of forest rangers on horseback

Consciousness And Thought In Virginia Woolf s To The...
It is through the element of structure that Virginia Woolf, firstly communicates her outlook in regards to consciousness, speech and speculative thought. Woolf
represents consciousness in her structural employment of hyphens, which is used in order to show the mental process behind thought. Hyphens appear mainly
in compound words and the joining of prefixes, however, in the paragraph s inception Woolf uses the hyphen to convey the merging of detached thoughts
through the character of Mrs Ramsey. Mrs Ramsey thoughts match her actions as she clearing up her son s cut out pictures he had cut out a refrigerator, a
mowing machine, a gentleman in evening dress children never forget , it is solely through the employment of a hyphenated sentence, that Woolf is enabled to
convey to the reader that the latter thought Mrs Ramsey s conjures is retrospective. The action of tidying the cut out pictures is interrupted by a recent
memory of her husband s refusal to go to the lighthouse. This sentence demonstrates one of the main aspects of consciousness and thought in To The
Lighthouse. The process of thought has no consecutive timeline or chronological order and can interrupt and juxtapose physical actions, which makes the
employment of the hyphen an important choice in effectively depicting this often incomprehensible process. In addition to this, the hyphen dually breaks the
pattern of rhythmic, perfect, pre composed speech which is frequent in traditionalist literature, whereas

Livy s History portrays in early Rome the superior power of individuals over the collective in shaping the world, their ability to enact change they themselves

appears to dilute, slowly acquired by more and more of the populus romanus. kings make way for consuls, patricians lose political monopolies to the plebs,
etc. While the number of people with real political power does in fact increase, collective action is almost never the impetus for any action in Livy s writings.
To start at the beginning, it is a series of kings transform an empty land to a sizeable city state. After much warring, Numa established treaties and tempered
the overly aggressive Roman with religion (The Rise of Rome 24). Servius Tullius created the census, perhaps the greatest tool of Roman governance (The

head on a lantern and stumble across his room looking for his glasses; once he regains his balance, he opens the front door and screams at Holly Golighty (the
main character portrayed by Audrey Hepburn) in broken English (that was produced due to his heavy Japanese accent). At face value this particular scene was
supposed to add to the comedic element of the film; however, if we take a closer look, it is evident that racial stereotypes are embedded within the physical
and behavioral aspects of the character as well as the environment. In the aforementioned scene, Mr. Yunioshi s apartment is exceedingly stereotyped, because
his mattress on the floor signifies that (in terms of socio economic class) he s poor, while the decorations in his apartment, such as the lanterns and various
plants, are used to overly emphasize that he is Japanese. Of course, his physical features effect his behavior because of his poor sight and slurred speech, he s
depicted as a clumsy and grumpy person. Furthermore, I acknowledge that it was normal to use racially charged humor in this era, but it s movies like these
that utilize comedy as a form of justifying the use of whitewashing and racial stereotyping; therefore, making it difficult to overcome stereotypes. Scarface is
another classic film in which,

William Bradford Of Plymouth Plantation Analysis
1620. Athwart these rigid lands stand the New World; an unknown terrain we set sail to travel en route. Under the demand of our Almighty Lord, we seek to
purify these churches. 100 people on board, 50 of us pursue a new beginning. In God s will, we set sail in his favor.
The ship we traveled by proved to be as unworthy as the Roman Catholic practices. September 6, calamity paid us a visit. The enraged sea shattered our ship
as if mere quill, leaving us all compact in one ship by the name Mayflower. With such occurrence, we navigate towards our pre destined land with a changed
in expression towards our fate. William Bradford, as placid as a man can be, looks towards the horizon as if God hath given him reassurance. In blunt words, I

Is God not with us? I refrain my disturbing thoughts for neither of us possess the slightest pre eminence over this situation, only God can be the judge they
say.
An event that eternally transmuted my viewpoint in our human condition. Fierce storms shock the ship down to its wits, I could only imagine our final ends.
Hath, I served a valuable purpose? The ship in all essence might not make it to promised land.
In the sundry of these storms, the vicious winds jolted my feet off the ground. My final ends will be the dead sea; will I be even allowed in purgatory for
repudiating God s will? At that very moment, as I fell into the abyss, a rope was provided by the light. In confidence, I grabbed the rope tightly and hanged on
with my wits. My ragged body deflected as it shocked from the boat. It mattered not if I felt pain, it mattered if I hath pleased God. I was miraculously saved;
a depth I will devote my life to pay towards the Almighty. It was a call to action towards my purport in life. God brings me as an example to believe in his
puissance and as a father, he forfends us

King And Douglass Similarities
Have you ever heard of the speech I Have a Dream from the late Martin Luther King Jr.?
You d be pretty sure many people have heard of it, but has anyone ever really read it and thought about it? This could be like The Hypocrisy of American
Slavery, a piece of work produced by Frederick Douglass. They both argued that African Americans have a natural right to equality (Renfro 1). Douglass once
said, The white man s happiness cannot be purchased by the black man s misery. Here is just another point of there not being enough equality for being an
African American during those times of struggle. The fact that King and Douglass had used their oral power to try and fight throughout their lives was a very
substantial task. They are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They came to be very influential people for the people of their time and for many years up to now. King and Douglass also had their staple in time for being
great Civil Rights activists. They played key parts in the fight to lead blacks from their lack of power and equality for themselves. Having the struggles to deal
with within slavery and segregated times, blacks wanted to band together. King was vital in the making of acts during those times, such as the Civil Rights
Act of 1964 ( Martin Luther King Jr. 2). This act was what outlawed most of the discrimination for colored people. Douglass had his own contributions, but
they were in some cases not as major as the things King put forward to gain equality for blacks. As time went on the two began earning their unparalleled
oratory skills. With the power of just their voices and hands they were granted with so much more notoriety. Both of them have similar oratory styles. They
both had the amazing ability to move their audience to action (Renfro 1). They were also publishers and produced many great pieces of work. Douglass
published three versions of his autobiography during his lifetime, revising and expanding on his work each time. My Bondage and My Freedom appeared in
1855. In 1881, Douglass published Life and Times of Frederick Douglass, which he revised in 1892 ( Frederick

Ancient Mariner Rime
The Rime of The Ancient Mariner
The ancient mariner and the albatross are common references in our language, and so are lines like Water, water, everywhere, / Nor any drop to drink
(Taylor,1800). Coleridge s long, classic poem, first published nearly 200 years ago, still holds us with its glittering eye, its story of the sailor locked in a living
nightmare after he shoots an innocent albatross and watches his shipmates die all around him. Like Dore s famous nineteenth century engravings for the
poem, Young s illustrations in this large size volume capture the mystery, the sense of the tiny ship in a huge space of ocean Alone, alone, all, all alone, /
Alone on a wide, wide sea (.....). Unlike Dore, Young doesn t make the mistake of giving

Gun Control Now And The Federal Level
Gun Control Now
Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to where we are now, we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation
as it exists now. As legislation varies greatly between states, we ll start by looking at gun control at the federal level.
As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a
handgun. However, to possess firearms and handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced to 0 and 18
respectively. Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine guns (weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger)
manufactured after 1986 (18 U.S. Code § 922).
Additionally, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions on certain weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA
weapons are not explicitly illegal to possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which includes a much more
in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such weapons.
Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun ownership. Under the NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use
Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which includes such weapons under a total weapon length, not just those with short

The Stranger Response
The Stranger The Eye is the window to ones soul. The significance of the eye is that it can display emotions without spoken words. Humans cannot control
the inner actions of their eyes because the eyes are apart of the body that moves unintentionally. I chose to draw an abstract art of the eye to help the reader
visualize and understand Meursault s emotions throughout the story. I also chose to use abstract art because it was an art movement that became popular in the
1940s. During this time period, abstract art consisted of multiple different colors and it stood as a method of expression for those who wanted to display their
feelings. I also incorporated the usage of numerous lines in my art to represent the main character emotions. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The puzzles in the back represent the visual analysis that the author wants the readers to develop about Meursault s life. My reasoning behind this is because
his life was portrayed as a puzzle and it was hard to understand why he did the things he did and why he acted the way he did. There were specific colors used
to represent life and death. The dark lines indicate fear and his nonchalant attitude towards life. I used the color black because it signifies death which was
coming Meursault s way towards the ending of the novel. The green signifies life that was what he came to value after sometime particularly after he was
done talking to the chairman. The color yellow represents happiness which was what Meursault felt when he was with Marie and when he went to the beach.
The color red represents blood which was there once he had randomly killed one of the Arabs which lead to him having to go to jail. Orange and blue were
utilized to represent the sky and the sun that throughout the story we see Meursault talked about often. Overall, the book cover image was created to exhibit
and incorporate all the small details of Meursault s life as described throughout the book for the reader to be able to visualize and

This can take place through sports, dramatic events, etc. Many events have shaped me into the person I am today. Running has been the main activity in my life that has had an impact in shaping my life. In both cross country and track I have learned many lessons that will help me throughout my entire life. Through running I have not only gained exemplary health and a close group of friends, but I have also obtained certain qualities and traits that have made me a better person. • 4. Reflection About Discipleship Relationship Throughout the past few months, the Lord blessed me with the opportunity to begin discipleship relationships with two amazing people. To begin with, I had the opportunity to disciple a young girl who I have known her whole life. Our connection had been previously established, but after these past few months we ve spent together our relationship has strengthened and gained a depth that I never thought possible. From the beginning, we created a trustworthy environment that allowed for vulnerability and a deep connection. She felt safe to share with me personal details that she used to be hesitant to share and our friendship grew. Beyond discipling someone, I also had the blessing and joy of getting to know my aunt better and have her disciple me. Much like my relationship with the young girl I was discipling, I have known her my whole life thus we already had a decent connection, but I wasn t prepared for development I would experience throughout this relationship. Being as we re family, we easily connected from the beginning. It was certainly a click relationship . From the first meeting we had, we were able to be open and honest with each other, and I was able to share with her secrets and feelings that I never thought I would. We connected so well with each other and, for that, I am so grateful. Moving back to the young girl I was discipling, I m extremely thankful for the spiritual connection that we had. I quickly turned to see who was calling to me. It was my friend Logan. Logan and I have been neighbors for about 5 years, and ever since he moved we had been really good friends. Because our last names were close in alphabetical order, we also ended up standing next to each other in attendance lines. We were staring out the window wishing we could be outside playing on the play structure or exploring the courtyard when he asked a question that was totally out of the blue. I dare you to pull the fire alarm Logan urged. This took me aback. I turned my attention to the bright red fire alarm with its clear case, just asking to be yanked down with all my might. • 6. Challenge Power Mediums Music has the ability to both support and challenge power. This paper will look specifically at how certain mediums attempt to challenge power. There is more than one way to challenge power, but this paper will explain three main mediums. The three mediums that will be analyzed include: lyrics, genre and performance venue/context. Lets first start with lyrics ability to challenge power. The lyrics of a song are what work specifically with the audience to give meaning. It is the words people hear that give them the easiest insight in to what the artist s intentions were with regards to overall meaning and purpose. Think about the following lyrics, We live in a political world/Love don t have any place, (Political World, Bob Dylan). These lyrics by Bob Dylan are stating that because of the state of the world, love no longer has a place in it, so there is only hate. They are a direct challenge against the political ideologies, specifically those that Bob Dylan doesn t agree with. The chain of command (COC) is responsible for maintaining the good order and conduct of our service members (SMs). Unfortunately, the U.S. military has not been able to effectively combat the occurrences of sexual assault. Billions of taxpayer dollars have been thrown at the problem, programs have been implemented and task forces have been mobilized. To combat this epidemic, the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention program (SHARP) is the U.S. military s main effort. Within 180 days of the enactment of the bill, administrative hierarchies will convene to create policies and procedures to adhere to the mandates of S.1752. Within the deadline, policies and procedures will be disseminated to the lowest level in memorandum format (Military Justice Improvement Act, 2013). S.1752 is designed to protect SMs who are victims of sexual assault from a corrupt or neglectful COC by removing their authority in the matter. Policy Analysis A systematic analysis of S.1752 is essential to forecasting potential intended and untended consequences of the bill. Context will also be considered to ensure a balanced and unbiased bill analysis. If the bill is enacted, it will become law until amended or repealed. The extent to which this bill will accomplish it s purpose of removing the authority of sexual assault cases from COs in the victim s COC is currently unknown. • 14. A Summary Of The Salem Witchcraft Trials The Reason For Mostly Women Being Accused of Witchcraft The Salem Witchcraft trials was an outrageous event that began in 1692, and ended May of 1693 seeing the execution of many people. Unfortunately most of the victims of this phenomenon were women. For the most part these women were accused for very trivial reasons, such as for being widowed, being of old age and living alone, or for simply collecting herbs and other plants. During this time in history women and men were treated very differently both as they should contribute in the home and in society, this would have presented reasons as to why women were predominantly accused of witchcraft, along with any religious beliefs. The Crucible by Arthur Miller takes place at a time of a patriarchal society, the roles of men and women were different, along with how they were treated overall in society. This contributed to the stereotype of women being the ones predominantly associated with witchcraft. When having different roles and expectations for men and women there are problems that arise. Such as the fact that if women were to stray from the social norm in Salem, then they would be suspected or accused of being involved with witchcraft. They were expected to attend to domestic duties such as spinning, sewing, preserving food, animal husbandry, cooking, cleaning, and raising the children. Likewise, the only Mesopotamian structure that can compare to the size of the pyramids is the ziggurat. Significance wise, both were built for religious purposes, as the ziggurat is a place of worship and pyramids were built to immortalize the kings. Both the Egyptians and Mesopotamians developed their own forms of writing, Hieroglyphics and Cuneiform, respectively. Hieroglyphics is the more complex of the two, consisting of pictograms, phonograms, and determinatives, and symbols can hold a variety of meanings depending on the context of what is being written. He was a Mexican politician and military leader who was President of Mexico eleven times from 1833 to 1855. He was president officially six times, and unofficially five more. He was also a disastrous president of Mexico because he lost Texas and much more of the current American west in the United States. However, by far he was an important figure of his generation in the Mexican history. Many people love him during his first years of president, and he was remembered for two major conflicts, the Battle of the Alamo in 1836 during the Texas Revolution, and as a restored Mexican leader during the Mexican American War in 1847 (tshaonline.org). The prestige of Santa Anna in 1829 helped him to gain the presidency in 1833. In 1829 he fought against Spain s attempt to conquer Mexico, and after his victory everyone looked at him as a good leader. His victory from Spain makes him immediately turn over power. At that time the vice president was Valentín Gómez Farías, and allowed him to make some reforms, including many that aimed at the Catholic Church and the army. Because the people of Mexico do not accept his reforms, Santa Anna stepped in and removed Gómez Farías from power, and consequently he gained the presidency in 1833 as a Federalist and opponent of Roman Catholic Church. • 21. The Us Strategy For Winning The Global War On Terrorism In light of this, it should be mentioned that the US strategy for winning the Global War on Terrorism is predicated on creating an international environment inhospitable to terrorists and all those who support them (Fogarty 2001). Meaning, that the fight against terrorism heavily relies on international cooperation. In order to achieve such a feat, nevertheless, America must be amiable by fellow governments and their citizens. Unfortunately, the reports and findings on GTMO makes it increasingly difficult for the American administration to do so, for the inhumane treatment makes citizens of other countries upset. Quoting General Colin Powell, people from other nation states are beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism (Duberstein as cited in Washington Monthly 2008). This proves to be an immense hindrance to the war, as America cannot hope to face all of the world s terrorists alone. To put this in perspective, one can take a look at the situation with Turkey and Russia. Earlier this year, a Russian jet was shot down by Turkey, having flown into the latter s airspace without permission (BBC 2015). Granted, there lies in factors such as the decades long animosity between the two countries. Albeit, who s to say that America s relations with countries will never reach such lows? Rather, previous Secretary of Defence Chuck Hagel says that one of the greatest long term dangers America faces is that we are now mistrusted by many nations, even our ... • 23. Google s Effect On Our Brain Essay Google s effect on our brain In the July August 2008 Atlantic magazine, Nicholas Carr published Is Google Making Us Stupid? (http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200807/google). In this article Nicolas Carr argues that the internet is changing how one thinks, and how it is causing a bad effect on one s brain. I have to disagree. Although the internet is constantly changing, it helps in a positive way. Firstly, google has become a great resource for educational purposes. Secondly, the internet has become a great resource for intercultural experiences. Due to the general population spending most of their time on computer s and smart phones, this information is accessible to us whenever needed. Carr s entire argument is how the internet is making the population weak minded, which is easily clearly arguable with the resources available to us now. Some examples of resources are online school, library databases, educational games, daily newspapers, and even books are now sold online and school is being provided online to be more accessible to us. The hyperlinks that Carr mentions in his article as we power browse (1), in fact the internet/google is more helpful in going further into a subject being studied. For instance if someone is trying to research a sickness, the search starts with google, entering the sickness which leads them to an article, possibly Wikipedia, then a hyperlink is introduced to a subject they aren t educated on, one would read further to gain more helpful ... • 24. Essay On Henry Rifle The original Henry rifle was a sixteen shot .44 caliber rimfire, lever action, breech loading rifle patented by Benjamin Tyler Henry in 1860 after three years of design work.[1] The Henry was an improved version of the earlier Volition Repeating Rifle. The Henry used copper (later brass) rimfire cartridges with a 216 grain (14.0 gram, 0.490 ounce) bullet over 25 grains (1.6 g, 0.056 oz.) of gunpowder. Production was very small (150 to 200 a month) until middle of 1864. Nine hundred were manufactured between summer and October 1862; by 1864, production had peaked at 290 per month, bringing the total to 8,000 manufactured.[2] By the time production ended in 1866, approximately 14,000 units had been manufactured. For a Civil War soldier, owning a Henry rifle was a point of pride.[3] Letters home would call them Sixteen or Seventeen Shooters, depending whether a round was loaded in the chamber.[citation needed] The US Government purchased about 3,140 (early ... • 25. Electronic Medical Records ( Emr ) Information Technology Technology plays a vital role on the overall productivity of a medical practice. Electronic medical records (EMR) are commonly used by both large and small practices. They offer practices an efficient mean of storing patient data; furthermore, the government offer incentives for meaningful use of electronic medical records. Generally when it comes to implementing an EMR, it is necessary to choose the right vendor. EMRs usually fall into three vendor systems: single vendor, best of breed, and best of suite. The single vendor strategy offers the most cost effective strategy for a small single specialty practice because it combines both the administrative and clinical aspect of the practice; thus, allowing for a single contract with the vendor (Naleef, Ozcan, and DeShazo, 2012). The other two vendor strategies, while offering more flexibility, tend to require increase staffing, which may be too costly for a small practice. Electronic medical records are not sufficient enough to efficiently run a medical practice; therefore, other information technology is required. Computerized provider order entry (CPOE), is another information technology that will be implemented. Prescription errors are common causes of medical errors, which can have adverse effect on the patient and lead to malpractice litigation against the practice. The CPOE software can be integrated within an already established EMR system; within the CPOE, physicians are able to prescribe ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

New fighting strategies that emphasized throwing more and more men into the fight only exacerbated the problem. Military leaders on the side of the Allies failed to adapt and sacrificed the lives of many that could have been avoided. Based on concrete evidence that was collected, this was a major factor in high casualty numbers during the war because of the use of outdated tactics, pre determined mindsets of leaders, and the continued use of strategies that were ineffective. A popular form of war fighting was based in cavalry charges that rapidly declined in effectiveness throughout the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result of this, artillery did not have as destructive effect that the Allies wanted. This lack of knowledge and ignorant assumptions did not account for many Allied casualties but it did not decrease the number of enemy troops to where the Allies had an advantage (Axelrod, 94). This battle could have been a major success for the Allies with much fewer casualties had the military leaders knew what they were up against. Too many times during the war, tactical preparations before battles were slim and military leaders decided to attack based on previously accurate knowledge; only to find out that this war changed every minute and the enemy was changing as well. This military incompetence can also be seen in the Battle of Verdun in 1916. General Pétain s plan during the battle was described as this: Every parcel of land which might be seized by the enemy will give rise to an immediate counter attack (Malcolm, ch 8). This bold, yet ineffective strategy allowed for hundreds of thousands of French soldiers to lose their lives over the course of the battle. Pétain simply wanted to keep throwing men at the Germans who were armed with much better weapons that did nothing but increase the intensity of the war of attrition. Although the men who died on the battlefield were very brave and committed to winning the war, they were following blind leadership. So why is there such confusion about how to effectively market to them? A recent report from the online market research firm eMarketer, Boomers Online: Attitude Is Everything, addresses this issue. For an object to become a commodity it has to have exchange value or sign exchange value, which is determined by the society where the object it is exchanged. Two of the most notorious social constructs are racial and sexual classification of human beings. When read and when spoken the name sounds incredibly similar to serial killer Jack the Ripper. I truly don t think this was coincidental. The movie was filmed at Shepperton Studios near London, Whitechapel , the neighbor in which the serial killer mostly stalked is also in London. Perhaps this was Kubrick s way of framing members of the military industrial complex during the Cold War as serial killers. It is through the element of structure that Virginia Woolf, firstly communicates her outlook in regards to consciousness, speech and speculative thought. Woolf represents consciousness in her structural employment of hyphens, which is used in order to show the mental process behind thought. Hyphens appear mainly in compound words and the joining of prefixes, however, in the paragraph s inception Woolf uses the hyphen to convey the merging of detached thoughts through the character of Mrs Ramsey. Mrs Ramsey thoughts match her actions as she clearing up her son s cut out pictures he had cut out a refrigerator, a mowing machine, a gentleman in evening dress children never forget , it is solely through the employment of a hyphenated sentence, that Woolf is enabled to convey to the reader that the latter thought Mrs Ramsey s conjures is retrospective. The action of tidying the cut out pictures is interrupted by a recent memory of her husband s refusal to go to the lighthouse. This sentence demonstrates one of the main aspects of consciousness and thought in To The Lighthouse. The process of thought has no consecutive timeline or chronological order and can interrupt and juxtapose physical actions, which makes the employment of the hyphen an important choice in effectively depicting this often incomprehensible process. In addition, this text became immensely popular after its publishing, and so the vast audience the book enjoyed may have transformed literary fallacy into accepted truth. What is certainly true is that Livy was writing in one of the most tumultuous moments in Roman history; for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Livy s History portrays in early Rome the superior power of individuals over the collective in shaping the world, their ability to enact change they themselves desire correlating to their consideration of the collective s interest. Opposition to such a claim might make the correct observation that, over time, power appears to dilute, slowly acquired by more and more of the populus romanus. kings make way for consuls, patricians lose political monopolies to the plebs, etc. While the number of people with real political power does in fact increase, collective action is almost never the impetus for any action in Livy s writings. To start at the beginning, it is a series of kings transform an empty land to a sizeable city state. After much warring, Numa established treaties and tempered the overly aggressive Roman with religion (The Rise of Rome 24). Servius Tullius created the census, perhaps the greatest tool of Roman governance (The Rise of Rome 50). But there was king Tarquinius Superbus. Not only did he fail to contribute to the glory of Rome, but did he not also fall into exile by the hands of a collective? No. He made the fatal error of crossing a powerful individual: Lucretia. After her rape by the king, she summoned to her side other individuals with not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Analysis Of The Movie Breakfast At Tiffany s Oscars So White a phrase that began trending on social media sites after the 2016 Academy Awards announce their nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress, it was predominately white for a second year in a row. The movie industry is no stranger to controversy and since its inception it s constantly been guilty of underrepresenting ethnic people. It s evident that film is a type of mass media that has a certifiable amount of power to influence audience s views, yet this platform constantly disregards the need for diversity in favor of stereotypes. Movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany s (1961), Scarface (1983), and Pan (2015) are all guilty of this. The depiction of non American characters in Hollywood movies are constructed around racial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, in one his scenes Mr. Yunioshi is awoken by the ringing of a doorbell, he immediately stands up from his mattress on the floor only to hit his head on a lantern and stumble across his room looking for his glasses; once he regains his balance, he opens the front door and screams at Holly Golighty (the main character portrayed by Audrey Hepburn) in broken English (that was produced due to his heavy Japanese accent). At face value this particular scene was supposed to add to the comedic element of the film; however, if we take a closer look, it is evident that racial stereotypes are embedded within the physical and behavioral aspects of the character as well as the environment. In the aforementioned scene, Mr. Yunioshi s apartment is exceedingly stereotyped, because his mattress on the floor signifies that (in terms of socio economic class) he s poor, while the decorations in his apartment, such as the lanterns and various plants, are used to overly emphasize that he is Japanese. Of course, his physical features effect his behavior because of his poor sight and slurred speech, he s depicted as a clumsy and grumpy person. Furthermore, I acknowledge that it was normal to use racially charged humor in this era, but it s movies like these that utilize comedy as a form of justifying the use of whitewashing and racial stereotyping; therefore, making it difficult to overcome stereotypes. Scarface is another classic film in which, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Under the demand of our Almighty Lord, we seek to purify these churches. 100 people on board, 50 of us pursue a new beginning. In God s will, we set sail in his favor. The ship we traveled by proved to be as unworthy as the Roman Catholic practices. September 6, calamity paid us a visit. The enraged sea shattered our ship as if mere quill, leaving us all compact in one ship by the name Mayflower. You d be pretty sure many people have heard of it, but has anyone ever really read it and thought about it? This could be like The Hypocrisy of American Slavery, a piece of work produced by Frederick Douglass. They both argued that African Americans have a natural right to equality (Renfro 1). Douglass once said, The white man s happiness cannot be purchased by the black man s misery. Here is just another point of there not being enough equality for being an African American during those times of struggle. The fact that King and Douglass had used their oral power to try and fight throughout their lives was a very substantial task. They are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They came to be very influential people for the people of their time and for many years up to now. King and Douglass also had their staple in time for being great Civil Rights activists. They played key parts in the fight to lead blacks from their lack of power and equality for themselves. Having the struggles to deal with within slavery and segregated times, blacks wanted to band together. King was vital in the making of acts during those times, such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 ( Martin Luther King Jr. 2). This act was what outlawed most of the discrimination for colored people. Douglass had his own contributions, but they were in some cases not as major as the things King put forward to gain equality for blacks. As time went on the two began earning their unparalleled oratory skills. With the power of just their voices and hands they were granted with so much more notoriety. Both of them have similar oratory styles. They both had the amazing ability to move their audience to action (Renfro 1). They were also publishers and produced many great pieces of work. • 46. Gun Control Now And The Federal Level Gun Control Now Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to where we are now, we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation as it exists now. As legislation varies greatly between states, we ll start by looking at gun control at the federal level. As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of age to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun. However, to possess firearms and handguns, as well as purchase from a private seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced to 0 and 18 respectively. Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine guns (weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger) manufactured after 1986 (18 U.S. Code § 922). Additionally, the National Firearms Act of 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions on certain weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA weapons are not explicitly illegal to possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and expensive registration process, which includes a much more in depth background check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such weapons. Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun ownership. Under the NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use Short Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which includes such weapons under a total weapon length, not just those with short ... Humans cannot control the inner actions of their eyes because the eyes are apart of the body that moves unintentionally. I chose to draw an abstract art of the eye to help the reader visualize and understand Meursault s emotions throughout the story. I also chose to use abstract art because it was an art movement that became popular in the 1940s. I also incorporated the usage of numerous lines in my art to represent the main character emotions. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The puzzles in the back represent the visual analysis that the author wants the readers to develop about Meursault s life. My reasoning behind this is because his life was portrayed as a puzzle and it was hard to understand why he did the things he did and why he acted the way he did. There were specific colors used to represent life and death. The dark lines indicate fear and his nonchalant attitude towards life. I used the color black because it signifies death which was coming Meursault s way towards the ending of the novel. The green signifies life that was what he came to value after sometime particularly after he was done talking to the chairman. The color yellow represents happiness which was what Meursault felt when he was with Marie and when he went to the beach. The color red represents blood which was there once he had randomly killed one of the Arabs which lead to him having to go to jail. Orange and blue were utilized to represent the sky and the sun that throughout the story we see Meursault talked about often. Overall, the book cover image was created to exhibit and incorporate all the small details of Meursault s life as described throughout the book for the reader to be able to visualize and ...
