States commit approximately 50% of total violent crimes, while some states and jurisdictions report
much larger percentages.10 California and Illinois, who rank closely with Idaho, report that gang
members commit approximately 90% of violent crimes in their states.11 These violent crimes
include assault, extortion, home invasions, drug trafficking, homicide, weapons trafficking,
intimidation, shootings, etc.12 Other crimes routinely committed by gang members include
vandalism, graffiti, personal drug possession, petty theft, and simple assault.13 Law enforcement is
also beginning to report a recent evolution in criminal gang activity from traditional gang crimes to
alien smuggling, human trafficking, prostitution, and even white collar crimes.14
Idaho law enforcement emphasizes that the majority of gang related crimes in Idaho come from
local, neighborhood based gangs,15 which pose the greatest threat to communities according to the
national gang threat assessment greater than national level street gangs, prison gangs, and outlaw
motorcycle gangs.16 Idaho has a gang task force, known as the Treasure
Valley Metro Gang Taskforce, to help tackle the gang violence problem in the Boise area, known
as Treasure Valley.17 While gang related drive by shootings have become common in Treasure

Analysis Of Blair Witch Project
Semiotic Analysis on Blair Witch Project Blair Witch Project is regarded the first of its time, a
horror film in a documentary style movie. The release of the film in 1999 marked a new phase
in the creation of films. The Blair Witch Project set a benchmark for production of films of
different genres, especially for horror movies. The fixtures of the genre, horror films, have long
being characterized by the presence of graphical violence and torture by villains like monsters,
ghosts, demons and madmen or psychopaths. Prior to the release of the Blair Witch Project, most
horror movies were developing in many ways especially in the storyline and justifications of the
supernatural characters and scenes. Blair Witch Project was very special in many ways, using
mystery, suspense and foreshadowing to create the intense fear and scare in the audience. Since the
1980s, the horror movies have changed dramatically. With every new experience through
innovation, in the filmindustry, the horror films are expected to change with time, and in a whole
new dimension. The film Blair Witch Project, produced in 1999, has had an incredible impact and
influence, which very few films have had over the years. It is arguably among the scariest and most
frightening horror filmto date. It is a one of a kind on the basis that it being a horror film, it does
not possess the characteristics of generally known horror movies. Throughout the whole film, we
find no violence content like torture or graphic

Trichomonas Sexually Transmitted Disease
Trichomonas also known as Trich is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite. It was
first discovered by DonnГ© in 1836 and today, it is responsible for 25 % of all cases of clinically
diagnosed vaginitis. More than half of infected women and nearly 90% of infected men are
asymptomatic which means producing or showing no symptoms and that increases the chances of
people spreading the infection. Trichomoniasisis a very common sexually transmitted diseasethat is
caused by infection with a protozoan parasite called Trichomonas vaginalis. Although symptoms of
the disease vary, most women and men who have the parasite cannot tell they are infected.

support when she was later arrested and the bus boycott took place. This gained the support of
thousands African American people and not only from the ones who participated in the event. It
also gained support of prominent colored members of the community. Martin Luther King Junior, a
Baptist minister in Montgomery, emerged as a prominent figure for this movement. King helped to
found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, a civil rights organization that founght to end
racial segregation in the south (History Civil Rights Movement). In August of nineteen sixty three,
an event called the March on Washington took place, over two hundred thousand Americans

iconic, I have a dream speech, that discussed the discriminations colored people faced, such as
segregation. He states that, One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by
the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination (International Business Times). King
also wrote a letter in nineteen sixty three titled, Letter to Birmingham Jail, where he explained why
immediate nonviolent action was necessary in order to achieve segregation (science.jrank). Due to
Rosa Parksrefusal to give up her seat, however, that allowed all these actions to take place, and

Flight Simulators Should Be Made ( 13 )
Framework
Jeff Parrish and MIcah Cooper presented a framework for how flight simulators should be
made(13). The goal of this framework is to provide the means for rapid design of aircraft by
integrating simulation of the craft closely with the design process(13) Split into a plane model and
three subsystems Simulation subsystem evaluates current model, Editor subsystem An intuitive but
powerful interface that allows modification of design, and the Utilities subsystem Provides a variety
of functionality by providing miscellaneous aids such as data analysis and representation(13).

Connecticut Case
On June 7, 1965, the United States Supreme Court ruled that it was the constitutional right of
married females to be prescribed birth control. This ruling found fault in the Connecticut state ban
on the use of contraceptives. The 1879 Connecticut law was ruled as unconstitutional because it
infringed on citizen s rights to privacy. This case is studied to this day because it concerns the
rights and liberties of individuals. The Connecticut state law made it illegal for married people to
receive any form of contraceptives or information on contraceptives. The 1879 law stated that any
person who uses any drug, medicinal article or instrument for the purposes of preventing conception

They were arrested and found guilty of providing illegal contraception. The League at its Center in
New Haven stayed open for only ten days in November of 1961 until the appellants were arrested.
Each of them was fined $100. Griswold and Buxton then appealed to the Supreme Court of Errors
of Connecticut arguing that the law violated the US Constitution. In the Connecticut court decision,
the appellants were found guilty. The case then made its way to the US Supreme Court in 1965.
Griswold and Buxton were guaranteed the fundamental rights under the Bill of Rights. The
Supreme Court s decision was divided seven to two. The Fourth and Fifth amendments protect a
citizen s home and private life from government interference and outline the Due Process Clause.
These rights drawn under the amendments made it unconstitutional for Connecticut to ban birth

Within, The Story of an hour , Kate Chopin portrays the reaction of Mrs. Mallard to her husband

tone were despair and disconsolate. Not only was Mrs. Mallard feeling grief over her lost, but
Chopin uses pathos to effect and relate the audience to a grief feeling as well.

1.Describe each:
Isotope The term isotope is used to describe elements that contain the same amount of protons, but
different amounts of neutrons. For example, two elements of the same type such as Uranium 235
and Uranium 238. 235 only has 143 neutrons, where as 238 has 146.
Isomer Isomers are molecules that contain the same number of atoms of an element, but are
arranged differently. Basically isomers are molecules that have the same chemical formula, or
molecular components, but different layouts or shapes rather.
Ion Ion s are charged atoms. Basically, they are atoms that have unequal electrons to protons. Ion s

describe two atoms that have polar electronegativity. When this happens, shared electron pairs are
more likely to be found closer to the atom with higher electronegativity. Polar covalent bonds are no

Steptoe Valley Wildlife Management Case Study
Introduction
The Steptoe Valley Wildlife Management Area (SVWMA) is located immediately south of Ely,
along U.S. Highway 93/50 in White Pine County. The property consists of 6,426 acres and
includes Comins Lake, which is located about six miles south of Ely near the area headquarters.
Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) has had a long term interest in the acquisition of this
valuable property, dating back to the 1980s. Ely community leaders, Rocky Mountain Elk
Foundation (RMEF), and numerous other partners worked together to make the purchase happen
with NDOW s acquisition of the property in 1999. The property was established as the Steptoe
Valley Wildlife Management Area in 2000. The area surrounding SVWMA has a rich history of
use by Native Americans and early explorers. For over 130 years, mining has played an important
role in the economy of Ely. Ore was discovered on Ward Mountain leading to the formation of the

northern pintail, mallards, gadwall, canvasbacks, and ruddy ducks. Ducks nesting on the area
include northern pintail, gadwall, northern shovelers, cinnamon teal, ruddy ducks, and others.
Canada geese are commonly found on SVWMA; white fronted and snow geese are infrequent
visitors. Tundra swans visit SVWMA, but are relatively uncommon.
Big Game The largest elk herd in Nevada inhabits the mountain ranges surrounding SVWMA.
SVWMA provides spring, summer, and early fall habitat for elk, while adjacent public lands are
important winter and spring ranges for elk that summer in the nearby Schell Creek and Egan
mountain ranges. Mule deer use the area throughout most of the year. Pronghorn have increased

Analysis Of Francis Fukuyama s The End Of History And...
The National Review describes Francis Fukuyama as one of the most important thinkers in America
because of his status as a triple threat in public intellectual life: he is able to maintain high
appointments in academe, produce popular books and magazine writing, and advise American
presidents and foreign leaders directly . This status contributes to Fukuyama s continued success as
a political scientist, political economist and author. After achieving notability for his book, The End
of History and the Last Man, Fukuyama changed pace and wrote a distinctively historical work (as
opposed to his aforementioned previous novels that were more theoretical) entitled The Origins of
Political Order: From PreHuman Times to the French Revolution. Citing 9/11 and American s failed
ability to adequately understand how hard it is to establish institutions Fukuyama decided to write a
novel concerning where political institutions originated in countries that had them.
Fukuyama introduces his novel by developing his theory that there are three factors involved in
political order: 1, the state 2, rule of law and 3, accountable government. He attempts to prove that a
modern democracy (such as Denmark) would consist of a stable balance between these three
components. By using these specific concepts, Fukuyama is able to successfully analyze the checks
and balances of a countries political system, and thus determine its relative stability. He illustrates
these elements as separate columns

Federal Involvement In Public Education
The word education is absent from the U.S. Constitution. Based on this fact, how is Federal
involvement in public education justified?
Our country was founded on the basis of having religious and political freedom. The colonists did
not want to have a controlling central power of government. Therefore, our country was founded
under the federal system where power was divided between the federal, state, and local governing
bodies. The 10th Amendment to the Constitution gave the responsibility of providing public
education to the individual states and the people because education was not one of the powers
delegated by the Constitution. The Federal Government did not have the authority to control or run
the public educational system. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Condoms And Birth Control
Although most parents frown upon their children having sex, safe sex is still important, which is
why condoms and birth control should not be permitted by the parents. For centuries now, most
parents have made a point that sex is forbidden until marriage or until they have moved out the
house. The effect of that, teens are very reluctant about letting their parents know that they are
sexually active. So, why would a teen ask a parent to set them up on birth control, knowing they
don t allow sex in the first place? They would not, unless they had some kind of death wish. It is a
tough situation, with a non win win solution. It s either they sneak around their parents back and

First off, in this world of 2017, sex is one of the biggest topics that stays trending. It is on
television, in magazines, books and even in commercials. It is a tight subject to be on, and your
outlook on it can either make or break how people even look at you. So, if a teen is to get in a
relationship, or maybe even just a fling, sex will be brought up soon. A teen who will stay sex
free in this generation will more than likely suffer for social insecurities, self esteem issues and
could even become sexually confused. Since the teen is not able to express his or her sexuality
when needed, they bottle it up and keep it inside, causing mixed feelings on what sex should and
should not be like. In the future, this could cause problems between whomever they marry. They
never got to express it, therefore they don t know what they like until it is too late, which could
also cause early divorce as well. The teen will also soon grow sexually frustrated, and irritable.
Fighting normal sexual urges, while dealing with hormones can take a lot out on the brain,
causing them to lash out, and push others away. The teen will then find another way to relieve
stress and express themselves, which could be very violent or illegal. Not to mention the social
insecurities they will endure during their teen years. Obeying your parents and staying a virgin is
looked down upon by many peers and

Research Paper On Victorianism
Jehanzeb Siddiqui English September 4th 2014 Victorian England Essay Part 1: Victorianism
defined Victorianism is an era which is difficult to understand as it is spread over several periods
giving rise to many events. On one hand it is considered as an era of power and paradox while
on the other hand this era also describes Victorians as confident, socially responsible people
having a vision of the world beyond. The problem of describing Victorianism has also been well
addressed by M.H. Abrams in arts and literature, who himself was a Victorian. Part 2: Victorian

on the better side this world rather than worrying about the darker side. Part 4: Major Literary
Figures Thomas Carlyle had examined the society of the Victorians very carefully and spoke for
the Victorians. According to him, people who were relying on technological innovations can t rely
on those innovations only to lead their lives as these innovations won t lead man, instead
spirituality is the main concern of their lives. He directed people towards spirituality and grabbed
their attention through his writings. Either his readers were repelled by his work or used to like

Big Mama Presley s Comparison
While there are some similarities between Willie Mae Big Mama Thornton and Elvis Presley s
versions of the song Hound Dog, I am of the opinion that there were more differences. The
obvious similarities would be the lyrics retained in Elvis version of the song, though the
interpretation of those lyrics were very different. Perhaps what I feel is colored by growing up
in a household where my mother was an Elvis fan who played his version, and my father, who
was a coal miner s son born in the 1920s in the hills of Virginia, sang and played a much loved copy
he had of Big Mama Thorntons version. While my father masculinized the song when he sang it,
he did so retaining much of the spirit Thornton s recording had. Early on I was too young to

clearer (in her version, she enunciates better than Elvis Presley), as was her intent. She was fed

wags his tail, she was no longer going to feed it. I also decided to watch a recording posted online

Review Of Jon Krakauer s Poem
Captain James Kirk of the U. S. S. Enterprise, and from Star Trek once said about a super

boredom. Almost everyone will bore me in about 15 minutes. However there are those few that I
consider to be my best friends who never bore and actually bring huge amounts of joy and
excitement to this terrible bore that we call reality.
Some people could simply sit and just think. Some use their mobiles to communicate to the outside

The Nervous Systems ( Cns ) And The Peripheral Nervous System
The nervous system is the part of the human body in charge of coordinating the reception of
external stimuli and the response the body gives to them. It is equipped with sense organs called
receptors, which are in charge of transforming the stimuli s energy into nerve impulses [1]. To emit
an external response, the nervous systemuses effectors that can be either muscles or glands.
We can divide the nervous system into two separate systems: the central nervous system (CNS) and
the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord and is
protected by the cranium and the vertebral column, respectively. The PNS is in charge of
connecting the CNS with the receptors and the effectors. To transfer the information from one part
of the body to another, a specialized type of cells called neurons is used.
Neurons are in charge of a communicative function. They perform two different types of activities.
The first one consists in helping the conduction of a signal from one part of the cell to another. The
second activity they perform is synaptic transmission, which means communication between
adjacent cells.

Motorcycle Insurance Research Paper
Many motorcycle accidents occur from year to year. Recent statistics showed that approximately
4,500 motorcycle accidents occur every year. That alarming rate should prompt motorcycle riders to
protect themselves with motorcycle insurance as quickly as possible. Most states require that
drivers obtain the insurance if their motorized unit has an engine that is more than 50 ccs.
Motorcycle insurance covers the rider and other people on the road. States require motorcycle
owners to have liability coverage, which is coverage that pays for bodily and physical damages
that occur to someone who is not the motorcycle driver. A rider can purchase additional insurance
that will cover him or her in the case of an emergency or accident.

Scram Jet Essay
The SCRAMJET, simply abbreviated from Supersonic Combustion Ramjet, is the latest evolution
of the jet engine family. NASA made the news with each test of the X 43A scramjet craft, so I set
about to discover why this type of jet engine should garner so much scientific attention. Turbojet
The most basic jet engine is the turbojet. As soon as the air enters the front of the engine, the blades

Turboprop The turboprop (turbo propeller) engine combines the simple propeller engine with that
of the turbojet. In this case, in addition to driving the compressor, the turbine also drives a
propeller. The propeller provides thrust like a normal propeller (the wedge shape of the blades
pushes the air back), in addition to the thrust produced by the turbojet part of the engine. Ramjet
The ramjet engine is a much simpler construction than either the propeller or turbojet engine.
Unlike these the other engines that require moving parts (propeller, compressor, turbine, shaft, etc),
the ramjet consists basically of a tube that scoops the air into the combustion chamber where it is
mixed with fuel and ignited, and exhausts the hot gasses through the necked down exhaust nozzle.
Because of the high speeds of operation, instead of compressing the air, the chamber of the ramjet
actually expands and thereby slows the air to subsonic speeds for the combustion process. The force
of the incoming air forces the combustion to be kept behind the inlet. Because of this fact, the
engine cannot be operated at subsonic velocities (Velocities below Mach 1 One time the speed of
sound or roughly 740 mph at standard temperature and pressure). Hence another engine has to
accelerate the plane to the point where the ramjet can function. On the other hand, because of its
simplistic construction, the ramjet engine can

Statistical Data Were Collected By Using The Statistical...
Statistical data were collected by using the Statistical Package of Social Sciences using a paired
variance t test (comparing before after). An independent t test was also used for comparison
between the two groups (equal variance). The results were reported as mean В± SD.
The following outcomes were found to be statistically significant. An increase of knee extensors
strength comparing pre and post treatment results was observed on weak (w) and strong(s) legs
not defined by investigators in the WBV group (p values 0.009, 0.013 respectively). The control
group mean and standardized deviation values of the knee extensors strength were as followed
for the weak leg pre post intervention: 24.667 В± 0.764, 25.333 В± 0.289 and for the strong leg
23.333 В± 1.258, 24.00 В± 0.500, showing minimal increases in this group for both legs (w
=.666 and s = .667); for the experimental group the weak leg was 25.00 В±0.866 pre and 28.00
В±1.000 post and for the strong leg 24 В±0.866 and 27 В±1.00 respectively, both of them
showing increases of 3.00. Spasticity reduction was observed in the trial group in one of the three
muscle groups (knee extensors) with a p value 0.035. Walking speed assessed with the 6 Min walk
test showed statistical significance in favor of the WBV group after treatment (p value 0.001) with
mean and SD values of 240 В± 60 pre and 400 В± 50 post in contrast with the control group were
the p value was 0.173 with mean and SD values 203.3 В±33.3 pre and 221.7 В± 46.5 post.

Gross Domestic Population, Gdp, And Economic Growth
Gross Domestic Population, GDP, is an estimate the value of all final goods and services that are
produced and traded for money within a given period of time. It is measured by adding together a
nation s consumption, government expenditures, exports and capital formation. ( Marcuss and
Kane, 2007). GDP estimates were used to show that the economy could provide sufficient supplies
while maintaining production of consumer goods and services. Today, the GDP, measures
economic growth referred by economists, politicians, top level decision makers, and the media.

The economy of the state depends on commerce with trade partners from the Netherlands, the

The government of Suriname started to interact in its economy to assist in stabilizing its money
structure, by introducing price controls to contain inflation. The government outlawed all prices

stayed in place and kept the economy on the rise until after the elections. Inflation started to rise as
though the government had did anything before. The government came back with another plan to
regulate trade and ration imported goods, but the business of smuggling thrived. These actions
brought on an exchange rate system, but the government did not fully understand the impact of the
rate system. Inflation spiraled out of control by 1994. The government came with a new plan to
start printing its own money. The government unified its exchange rates and reformed its tax and
customs system. They also eliminated the collection lag in income and consumption tax. An

Music Is A Major Part Of Everyday Life
Music is a major part of everyday life. There are not many people that do not listen to music.
Music has been a gradual piece that has changed and evolved over time. From the beginning of
time where only simple melodies where being played on instruments made of animal parts to
present day where there is a mixture of visual representations and various melodies being played at
once. This is all due to the contributions of many artists over the years. Some of these artists where
most influential during the early 1700s around the time classic and baroque musicwere prevalent.
Other artists like the ones today have been influenced by past composers. This is just a way that
although there are many branches to music each artists influence and works can all be seen
together under one big music family. One of the most well known and influential artists of the
1700s was Ludwig Van Beethoven. Beethoven was born on December 17th 1770 in Germany. His
father was a musician for a court. During the 1700s top musicians played in courts meaning for
the royals of the country. They were regarded as royalty and important people because they
played for king and higher class people. It was said the Beethoven s father was an alcoholic, this
caused him to be a violent stern man. He was very strict with his children. Beethoven s mother
was the opposite. She was said to be a kind and gentle woman. Woman that loved and cared for her
children. She was the opposite of her husband. Beethoven used to

Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Essay
I.Introduction: A subarachnoid hemorrhage is a leakage of blood into the subarachnoid space.
This area is located between the pia matter and arachnoid matter. Cerebral spinal fluid is usually
found in this in this space. The Cerebral spinal fluid acts as a shock absorber for any trauma or
blow to the head. Sometimes the force is to big and bloodis released into this area. This damages the
lining of the brainwhich increases pressure to the brain and killing brain cells.
II.Etiology The most common causes of a sub arachnoid hemorrhage is a blow to the head or
trauma.
i)Trauma is usually seen in the older people that have fallen. Young people who have been in a
motor vehicle accident may also experience SAH. ii) Spontaneous hemorrhage can also occur. Non
traumatic hemorrhage can be caused by a ruptured cerebral aneurysm or arteriovenous

Effectiveness Of A Competitive Market Environment
From the past until present, in order to achieve competitive advantage to compete in turbulence
and highly competitive market environment, the one who take control over the organisation
should design powerful strategies. To create that strategies, managers need both good
understanding in internal and external environment, and effective managerial skill to organise
sophisticate works arising in organisational routine systematically. The one who assigned as
manager has power to control over company resources which included human being. Human can
be considered as one of the most valuable resources in the company because value can be added
to them through education and experience. However, human could be considered as the most
complicate resource. This is because they have personal needs, ambition, and feeling which are
different between one to others. Unlike machines or other type of assets that similarly designed
to do specific jobs, stereotype should not be applied to workers and there is no one best way to
manage or to control them. In particular, it can be said that one size does not fit all. As the result,
this issue could be considered as one of the most wildly discussed topics among managerial
scholars. The idea of how to manage and control over human being in the work place start in the
period of industrial revolution where the factory trying to maximise their profits through the

Era Pros And Cons
Almost fifty years after drafting the ERA, the Democratic party united behind its passage. On

Blood Pressure Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment is to test how how different water temperatures affect blood
pressure. The first step of the experiment s procedure was to create a baseline. We did this by
taking the normal blood pressure of the subject. We then submerged the subject s feet in three
different water temperatures; cold. room temperature, and warm. The experiment showed that cold
water increases blood pressure while warm water and room temperature water causes blood
pressure to decrease. In conclusion water temperature does have an effect on blood pressure.
Background:
Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the artery s walls. Blood pressure
readings are written by putting a person s systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. Systolic
pressure is the pressure in the blood vessels when the heart is beating. Diastolic blood pressure is
the pressure in blood vessels when the heart is resting between beats. It is measured in the unit of
millimeters of mercury or mmHg. The normal blood pressure for an adult should average at about
120/80 mmHg. Anything grammatically higher than that number is considered high blood pressure
and anything below is low blood pressure. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cuff is wrapped around a person s arm and is inflated. The cuff applies pressure on the
brachial artery and cuts off circulation to the arm as it inflates. The systolic pressure is measured
once blood begins to flow into the arm again.
Hypothesis:
When feet are submerged in cold water they will cause blood pressure to rise and when feet are in
warm and room temperature water blood pressure will stay at normal levels.

Differences in Slave Laws in Colonial Brazil and Colonial...
Differences in slave laws in British North America and Colonial Brazil Slavery as it existed in
colonial Brazil contained interesting points of comparison and contrast with the slave system
existing in British North America. The slaves in both areas had been left with very little
opportunity in which he could develop as a person. The degree to which the individual rightsof the
slave were either protected or suppressed provides a clearer insight to the differences between
North American and Brazilian slavery. The laws also differed greatly between the two areas and
have been placed into three categories: term of servitude, police and disciplinary powers, and
property and other civil rights. Point One: In both systems of slavery,... Show more content on

The law also made a more concerted attempt to protect the slave against mistreatment by his master.
Mistreatment of a slave could lead both to the freedom of the slave and to the imprisoning of the
master. Point Three: The slave in British North Americacould not own property and had absolutely
no civil rights. The law clearly stated that he could neither own, inherit, nor will property, couldn
t engage in buying or selling anything except at the pleasure of his master. In contrast, the slave
in Brazil could own property, could engage in buying and selling, and was also guaranteed
Sundays, holidays, and other times which to work for his own advancement. In short, the law
implied that while the master could own a man s labor, he could not own the man as a person. In
conclusion, it is not easy to make a comparison between the two slave systems. Brazilian slave
masters often evaded the law and could be exceedingly brutal and British North American masters
were often much more lenient than the law required. Conditions were usually more severe in
Brazil and this may have worsened the actual material situation of the Brazilian slave. In North
America the slave was treated like a thing and in Brazil there was some attempt to treat him as a
man. This fact made a profound difference in the way the two systems affected the slave as an
individual and in the way in which they impinged upon the development of his

Willie is interesting in that he looks up, smiling, from the floor for a good portion of the play, as
if he is obliviously happy with his place. In addition, his physical positioning mirrors his less
powerful status when it comes to Hally, and even when it comes to Sam. He plays his role as
someone who acts slave like and naive in his illiteracy. But he does have power in some areas of
his life, when it comes to he and Hilda, and he uses it. He does what he knows when he hits Hilda
when he does not get what he wants from her. Hilda uses the power she has to abandon him. He
does not understand the concept of moving someone versus motivating someone. Because he
simply moves her, he made her do what he wanted for a while. But since he does not motivate her,
she will not stay around.
Sam tries to do a lot of good with Hally but even he is guilty of lording power over others as well.
He teases Willie, how s your pillow with the quickstep? (Fugard 1142) because he has slightly

Essay on The Principle of Separate Corporate Personality
The Principle of Separate Corporate Personality
The principle of separate corporate personality has been firmly established in the common law
since the decision in the case of Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd[1], whereby a corporation has a
separate legal personality, rights and obligations totally distinct from those of its shareholders.
Legislation and courts nevertheless sometimes pierce the corporate veil so as to hold the
shareholders personally liable for the liabilities of the corporation. Courts may also lift the
corporate veil , in the conflict of laws in order to determine who actually controls the corporation,
and thus to ascertain the corporation s true contacts, and closest and most real ... Show more content

The veil of incorporation can be described as being the separation between a company and its
members. Due to the separate legal status of a company from its members this is usually very
strictly maintained. However, there are certain circumstances when the courts will deny the
people who run the company the advantage of hiding behind the corporate veil. In these instances
the veil of incorporation is said to be pierced or lifted , i.e. the barrier between a company and its
members is removed so there is no legal separation between them. There instances are however,
difficult to predict as the reasons depend on the judges interpretation of fairness or policy or of how
a particular statute should be interpreted.
In the leading case of Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd, Salomon incorporated his boot and shoe repair
business, transferring it to a company. He took all the shares of the company except six, which
were held by his wife, daughter and four sons. Part of the payment for the transfer of the business
was made in the form of debentures (a secured loan) issued by the company to Salomon. Salomon
transferred the debentures to Broderip in exchange for a loan. Salomon defaulted on payment of

Sugar and Coercive Acts. They both angered the colonists tremendously. The Acts passed by the
British caused tensions and many reactions from the colonists. The Stamp Act, which was passed
in 1765, had many reactions from the colonists. When the British passed the Stamp Act it taxed
everything printed like newspapers, dice, playing cards, legal documents, etc. They all needed a

Introduction When returning back to teaching I think it s important for me to understand the major
factors that affect reading vocabulary levels. Researching this topic will prepare me in becoming a
better English teacher. Exploring these various affects will allow me to become more conscious
and prepared when it comes to helping my students with vocabulary and reading comprehension
skills. When entering the classroom every child is different so it s important to understand
diversity in the classroom. Wright states, Right from the beginning of schooling, there are profound

Main Article

Accordingly, he began to reform the military. Before leaving for Africa, to finish off Jugurtha, he
changed the traditional way of recruitment. Previously, Roman citizens were recruited on the basis
of their property qualification: Scullard writes that the rule was that the army should be recruited
only from men enrolled in the five classes. Instead, Marius appealed to the proletarii, who were
men that lacked the necessary property qualification. This wasn t any great innovation, as property
qualifications had already been reduced. He simply completed the next logical step. But the results
of this reform were

Rape In Rwanda Genocide
An estimated 250,000 to 500,000 woman were victims of rape during the Rwandan genocide.
More than 67% of these woman also suffered from the transmission of HIV through a system rape
used as a genocidal weapon. This was one of the many cruel methods carried out by Hutu
nationalists to oppress the Tutsi people, and eradicate their presence from Rwanda. Over a 3 month
period Rwanda experienced an outbreak of mass killings of Tutsipeople and Hutumoderates. Media
broadcasting prompted Hutu nationalist to raise arms against their Tutsi oppressors, who for
decades had subjected them as inferior by influence of a biased imperial race ideology.
Nationalism was a driving force on both sides of these two major ethnic groups in Rwanda. The

  • 11. Analysis Of Francis Fukuyama s The End Of History And... The National Review describes Francis Fukuyama as one of the most important thinkers in America because of his status as a triple threat in public intellectual life: he is able to maintain high appointments in academe, produce popular books and magazine writing, and advise American presidents and foreign leaders directly . This status contributes to Fukuyama s continued success as a political scientist, political economist and author. After achieving notability for his book, The End of History and the Last Man, Fukuyama changed pace and wrote a distinctively historical work (as opposed to his aforementioned previous novels that were more theoretical) entitled The Origins of Political Order: From PreHuman Times to the French Revolution. Citing 9/11 and American s failed ability to adequately understand how hard it is to establish institutions Fukuyama decided to write a novel concerning where political institutions originated in countries that had them. Fukuyama introduces his novel by developing his theory that there are three factors involved in political order: 1, the state 2, rule of law and 3, accountable government. He attempts to prove that a modern democracy (such as Denmark) would consist of a stable balance between these three components. By using these specific concepts, Fukuyama is able to successfully analyze the checks and balances of a countries political system, and thus determine its relative stability. He illustrates these elements as separate columns ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For centuries now, most parents have made a point that sex is forbidden until marriage or until they have moved out the house. The effect of that, teens are very reluctant about letting their parents know that they are sexually active. So, if a teen is to get in a relationship, or maybe even just a fling, sex will be brought up soon. A teen who will stay sex free in this generation will more than likely suffer for social insecurities, self esteem issues and could even become sexually confused. Since the teen is not able to express his or her sexuality when needed, they bottle it up and keep it inside, causing mixed feelings on what sex should and should not be like. In the future, this could cause problems between whomever they marry. They never got to express it, therefore they don t know what they like until it is too late, which could also cause early divorce as well. The teen will also soon grow sexually frustrated, and irritable. Fighting normal sexual urges, while dealing with hormones can take a lot out on the brain, causing them to lash out, and push others away. • 18. The Nervous Systems ( Cns ) And The Peripheral Nervous System The nervous system is the part of the human body in charge of coordinating the reception of external stimuli and the response the body gives to them. It is equipped with sense organs called receptors, which are in charge of transforming the stimuli s energy into nerve impulses [1]. To emit an external response, the nervous systemuses effectors that can be either muscles or glands. We can divide the nervous system into two separate systems: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS consists of the brain and the spinal cord and is protected by the cranium and the vertebral column, respectively. The PNS is in charge of connecting the CNS with the receptors and the effectors. To transfer the information from one part of the body to another, a specialized type of cells called neurons is used. Neurons are in charge of a communicative function. They perform two different types of activities. The first one consists in helping the conduction of a signal from one part of the cell to another. The second activity they perform is synaptic transmission, which means communication between adjacent cells. Figure 1.1 Neuron structure. NASA made the news with each test of the X 43A scramjet craft, so I set about to discover why this type of jet engine should garner so much scientific attention. Turbojet The most basic jet engine is the turbojet. As soon as the air enters the front of the engine, the blades of the compressor, compresses the air before funneling it into the combustion chamber. During the compression, not only is the density of the air increased by compressing it in a confined chamber, but the temperature of the air also increases as the air molecules of squeezed closer together. The resulting air that emerges into the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Turboprop The turboprop (turbo propeller) engine combines the simple propeller engine with that of the turbojet. In this case, in addition to driving the compressor, the turbine also drives a propeller. The propeller provides thrust like a normal propeller (the wedge shape of the blades pushes the air back), in addition to the thrust produced by the turbojet part of the engine. Ramjet The ramjet engine is a much simpler construction than either the propeller or turbojet engine. Unlike these the other engines that require moving parts (propeller, compressor, turbine, shaft, etc), the ramjet consists basically of a tube that scoops the air into the combustion chamber where it is mixed with fuel and ignited, and exhausts the hot gasses through the necked down exhaust nozzle. Because of the high speeds of operation, instead of compressing the air, the chamber of the ramjet actually expands and thereby slows the air to subsonic speeds for the combustion process. The force of the incoming air forces the combustion to be kept behind the inlet. Because of this fact, the engine cannot be operated at subsonic velocities (Velocities below Mach 1 One time the speed of sound or roughly 740 mph at standard temperature and pressure). Hence another engine has to accelerate the plane to the point where the ramjet can function. On the other hand, because of its simplistic construction, the ramjet engine can ... On March 22, 1972 the Senate voted 84 8 in favor of the ERA, finally passing the ERA and sending it to the States for ratification. • 33. Blood Pressure Lab Report The purpose of this experiment is to test how how different water temperatures affect blood pressure. The first step of the experiment s procedure was to create a baseline. We did this by taking the normal blood pressure of the subject. We then submerged the subject s feet in three different water temperatures; cold. room temperature, and warm. The experiment showed that cold water increases blood pressure while warm water and room temperature water causes blood pressure to decrease. In conclusion water temperature does have an effect on blood pressure. Background: Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the artery s walls. Blood pressure readings are written by putting a person s systolic pressure over diastolic pressure. Systolic pressure is the pressure in the blood vessels when the heart is beating. Diastolic blood pressure is the pressure in blood vessels when the heart is resting between beats. It is measured in the unit of millimeters of mercury or mmHg. The normal blood pressure for an adult should average at about 120/80 mmHg. Differences in slave laws in British North America and Colonial Brazil Slavery as it existed in colonial Brazil contained interesting points of comparison and contrast with the slave system existing in British North America. The slaves in both areas had been left with very little opportunity in which he could develop as a person. The degree to which the individual rightsof the slave were either protected or suppressed provides a clearer insight to the differences between North American and Brazilian slavery. The laws also differed greatly between the two areas and have been placed into three categories: term of servitude, police and disciplinary powers, and property and other civil rights. Mistreatment of a slave could lead both to the freedom of the slave and to the imprisoning of the master. Point Three: The slave in British North Americacould not own property and had absolutely no civil rights. The law clearly stated that he could neither own, inherit, nor will property, couldn t engage in buying or selling anything except at the pleasure of his master. In contrast, the slave in Brazil could own property, could engage in buying and selling, and was also guaranteed Sundays, holidays, and other times which to work for his own advancement. In short, the law implied that while the master could own a man s labor, he could not own the man as a person. In conclusion, it is not easy to make a comparison between the two slave systems. Brazilian slave masters often evaded the law and could be exceedingly brutal and British North American masters were often much more lenient than the law required. Conditions were usually more severe in Brazil and this may have worsened the actual material situation of the Brazilian slave. In North America the slave was treated like a thing and in Brazil there was some attempt to treat him as a man. Essay on The Principle of Separate Corporate Personality The Principle of Separate Corporate Personality The principle of separate corporate personality has been firmly established in the common law since the decision in the case of Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd[1], whereby a corporation has a separate legal personality, rights and obligations totally distinct from those of its shareholders. Legislation and courts nevertheless sometimes pierce the corporate veil so as to hold the shareholders personally liable for the liabilities of the corporation. Courts may also lift the corporate veil , in the conflict of laws in order to determine who actually controls the corporation, and thus to ascertain the corporation s true contacts, and closest and most real ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The veil of incorporation can be described as being the separation between a company and its members. Due to the separate legal status of a company from its members this is usually very strictly maintained. However, there are certain circumstances when the courts will deny the people who run the company the advantage of hiding behind the corporate veil. In these instances the veil of incorporation is said to be pierced or lifted , i.e. the barrier between a company and its members is removed so there is no legal separation between them. There instances are however, difficult to predict as the reasons depend on the judges interpretation of fairness or policy or of how a particular statute should be interpreted. In the leading case of Salomon v Salomon Co Ltd, Salomon incorporated his boot and shoe repair business, transferring it to a company. He took all the shares of the company except six, which were held by his wife, daughter and four sons. Part of the payment for the transfer of the business was made in the form of debentures (a secured loan) issued by the company to Salomon. • 44. The Fall Of The Republic And Fall Main Article When articles are written about the fall of the Republic and the fall of democracy, the blame is often attributed to one man: Julius Caesar. However, a figure that tends to be overlooked in popular history held the consulship over fifty years prior to the Republic s inevitable fall was named Gaius Marius. Coming from an obscure Volscian town in the territory of Arpinum, sixty miles south east of Rome, Plutarch wrote of Marius coming from poor origins and rising to the consulship as an archetypal rags to riches story. This is nothing more than dramatic flair, since in reality he came from a good municipal family who were members of the local aristocracy, with the contemporary view characterising them as powerful nobles in their native town. Upon being elected consul in 107 BC, Marius was presented with the chance to cement his legacy. Accordingly, he began to reform the military. Before leaving for Africa, to finish off Jugurtha, he changed the traditional way of recruitment. Previously, Roman citizens were recruited on the basis of their property qualification: Scullard writes that the rule was that the army should be recruited only from men enrolled in the five classes. Instead, Marius appealed to the proletarii, who were men that lacked the necessary property qualification. This wasn t any great innovation, as property qualifications had already been reduced.
