Essay On Wildlife
Crafting an essay on the subject of wildlife presents a unique set of challenges that require a
delicate balance of research, creativity, and a profound understanding of the intricate ecosystems
that constitute our planet. The intricacies of the topic demand not only a grasp of the biological
aspects but also an awareness of the broader environmental, ethical, and conservation
dimensions.
To begin with, delving into the vast realm of wildlife necessitates a comprehensive exploration
of diverse species, their habitats, and the interdependencies that govern their existence. The task
becomes intricate as one grapples with the sheer diversity of flora and fauna, each with its own
distinctive features and ecological roles. Striking the right balance between detail and
conciseness becomes an art, as the richness of the subject often tempts one to delve into an
overwhelming amount of information.
Moreover, addressing the various challenges faced by wildlife in the modern world adds another
layer of complexity. Issues such as habitat loss, climate change, poaching, and human-wildlife
conflicts require not only factual reporting but also a thoughtful analysis of the ethical
implications and potential solutions. This aspect of the essay demands a nuanced approach,
navigating the fine line between raising awareness and avoiding a sense of hopelessness.
The artistic element of the essay-writing process emerges in capturing the reader's imagination
and fostering a sense of connection to the natural world. Crafting vivid descriptions of wildlife
encounters, exploring the intricate web of relationships within ecosystems, and conveying the
urgency of conservation efforts involve a delicate dance with words. The challenge lies in
avoiding clichГ©s while maintaining a sense of wonder and reverence for the subject matter.
Research, therefore, becomes a critical aspect of the essay. Sifting through scientific papers,
conservation reports, and firsthand accounts necessitates not only time but also a discerning eye
to separate reliable information from anecdotal evidence. The synthesis of this information into a
cohesive narrative requires careful planning and organization, ensuring a logical flow that guides
the reader through the complexities of the wildlife topic.
In conclusion, writing an essay on wildlife demands a multifaceted approach that blends
scientific accuracy with literary finesse. The task is not merely about conveying information but
also about instilling a sense of responsibility towards the preservation of our natural world. It is a
challenge that calls for dedication, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the intricate tapestry of
life on Earth.

Acid Rain Effects
From the precise moment, man first polluted the world, from burning fossil fuels to
urbanization, many people were uneducated about the threatening long term effects
that came along with these massive innovations. One of the many serious threats is
acid rain and a lot of people don t notice the effects of this worldwide dilemma. It is
now apparent that acid rain will now affect our everyday lives. Acid precipitation
impacts the environment, the people, many animals, and industries in the world.
When we burn fossil fuels nitrous and sulfuric gases are released into the
atmosphere and these gases react with water and oxygen, therefore, making acid
rain.(National Geographic,2017) Acid rain comes in many forms like snow, hail, and
dust particles too. (Environmental Protection Agency, N.d) Acid rain destroys many
habitats, ecosystems, wear down buildings and statues, and can contaminate many
bodies of water in Canada. Acid rain is prevalent near the eastern side of Canada
and has also made a huge impact in a city named Sudbury. Acid precipitation was
very common in the mid 19 century due to industrialization and lack of technology
and knowledge of pollution. We need to find new ways of producing electricity we
burn too many fossil fuels, therefore, creating carbon emissions that are extremely
harmful to the world and people around us and triggering the acid rain effect. Acid
rain is a giant problem for the world and especially Canada it affects the environment
around us and
How To Get Rid Of Bed Mites
Want to know how to get rid of bed mites?
Also called dust mites, this little intruder is probably not something you have given a
lot of thought to.
However, you may find an improvement in your health if you limit exposure to them.
Sadly, you cannot get rid of bed mites completely. This is impossible, they thrive in
so many places around the home.
Your towels, carpets, furniture, if you have young children they live in their stuffed
animals, clothing and of course the bed.
This is the one place I struggle with, knowing they are in my bed at night.
I can t stand to think about them crawling around while I am trying to get a good
nights sleep.
I am a neat freak, and if you are anything like me, and always make a point of

Although I have to admit, before I read the article. The bed mite is not something I
thought much about.

How To Get Rid Of Bed Mites
Don t make the bed in the mornings, pure and simple.
When I first read about why making the bed first thing in the mornings is bad for
health. I immediately rushed upstairs and unmade the bed.
While you sleep you lose skin cells and sweat. Bed mites love this, and you sleep
among their droppings. Makes me shudder.
If the first thing you do in the morning is jump out of bed when the alarm goes off,
and go ahead to make the bed. Getting a well organised start to the day.
Then you may want to do something else and leave the bed
Breanne Kirsch Case Study
Hello Dr. Knealing, The reference checks for Breanne Kirsch have been
completed. I was able to speak with three of her references. They all three gave
Breanna a glowing recommendation. Reference #1 had worked with Breanne for
9 years. Stated that Breanne was a dedicated employee, always looking for ways to
improve the library and herself. Would definitely consider Breanna reliable and
dependable employee. Breanna s also a good leader, communicator and works well
with faculty, students and co workers. Worked with Breanne on several big projects
and states that she is a great collaborator. Reference #2 had worked with Breanne for

The screenwriter develops its character bio by digging deep with a character,
discovering background history, personality, psychology and goals. The screen
writer develops a detailed description of the main character. This describes their
drives, fears, and goals. This should also give the audience a vision of how they look
and sound. A screenwriterhas a seven day schedule. Day one Describe your main
character. Day two Do character exercise. Fleshing our the character would be easy.
See how he/she is different from you. What things would you like to know about
your character but cannot answer? What does your character see or doesn t see.
How does your charter feel about his/her family? Lifetime goals? Take notes. Day
three Try the body principle with costume, props, or activity. Literally, be the
character. Day four Read the character questionnaire slowly. Day five Three things.
Describe your main character again Try a different character exercises. Ask
yourself what your character is after. Day six Review the character questionnaire.
Have any things occurred to you? Look back at your first descriptions. Day seven
Review your work. Fleshing out a character helps you in writing of dialogue
because it lets you know what type of charter you are developing. The wants and
needs of the character is important. What would make it most difficult for him or her
to achieve its goal can be answered by fleshing out the characters
Woody Vs Hollywood Research Paper
Whether you are planning to sell your home soon or remain in it for many years,
you naturally want it to have great curb appeal. Siding can be an excellent way to
enhance the appearance of your house or give it a fresh look. If you are considering
the installation of siding, you may be wondering whether you should choose vinyl or
woodsiding. If so, this comparison of wood siding to vinyl siding may help you
decide.
Vinyl Siding Can Be Damaged More Easily
A misthrown baseball, wind blown debris or even hail can break vinyl siding and
leave a hole to mark its spot. Wood siding can withstand impact damage much better
than vinyl. Vinyl siding can also warp as it contracts in cold weather and expands in
the heat of summer. Once it assumes a wavy
The A 40 Year Old Woman Presents With Fatigue
A 40 year old woman presents with fatigue. She has felt very run down for the past
3 months and has had no interest in participating in her usual activities and sporting
events. She has had sleeping problems and low appetite. She is constantly feeling
low and has frequent crying spells. Her physical examination is normal and thyroid
function is normal. She is diagnosed with major depression and is referred for
counseling and started on fluoxetine.
What is the mechanism of action of fluoxetine? Fluoxetine is an antidepressant
belonging to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of drugs used
mainly for the treatment of major depression, obsessive compulsive, disorder, and
panic disorder (Nordqvist, 2014, p. 1). SSRI work by increasing the levels of
serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter
that regulates several aspects of brain function such as mood, sleep, and emotion
(Mandal, 2014, p. 1). Fluoxetine works by blocking the absorption (reuptake) of
serotonin, which helps to regulate and stabilize mood. Since uptake is an important
mechanism for removing released neurotransmitters and terminating their actions on
adjacent nerves, the reduced uptake caused by fluoxetine increased the free serotonin
that stimulates nerve cells in the brain (Ogbru, 2014, p. 1).
Why is fluoxetine the drug of choice? This medication is the drug of choice for this
patient since the use in treating depression is well established.
Factors Influencing The Change Process
Introduction Change is an important part of organizational life and is affected by a
multitude of complex factors both within and without the organization. While
numerous theories exist to explain the change process, the organization and
leadership within an organization, the change process fails more often than not
(Gilley, McMillan Gilley, 2009). The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors
limiting the change effort and how to transition to successful change. Change
Defining the change process in an organization is an important aspect in determining
whether the change was successful and how the process can be improved. It is also
important to understand why change is necessary. According to Goodstein and Burke
(1999) the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To understand the change process, many models have been developed. The
seminal work in the field of change theory is that of Kurt Lewin in 1947 where he
defines three steps for successful change: unfreezing, movement, refreezing
(Gilley, McMillan Gilley, 2009; Goodstein and Burke, 1991). Many models have
followed and expanded on Lewin s three steps, including models by Burke and
Litwin (1992), Nadler and Tushman (1980), and Tichy (1983) however all of these
models have been criticized for being too linear while the change process is clearly
not (Gilley, McMillan Gilley, 2009; Goodstein and Burke, 1991). In addition to the
models that explain the change process, the type of change that the organization is
going through also plays a role. In their review of literature Gilley, McMillan Gilley
(2009) identified three types of change: transitional, transformational and
developmental. Transitional changes are small changes, transformational are radical
shifts and developmental are continuous changes. Goodstein and Burke (1991) see
two different levels of change as well and call them fundamental, which is similar to
the transformational change identified by Gilley et al. and fine tuning which is
similar to the transitional changes identified by Gilley et al. Likewise, Weick and

Transgender Prisoners And Transgender Inmates Essay
I.Introduction Prisoners that are incarcerated go through many hardships during the
course of their sentence. The mistreatment that inmates in prison encounter is
unjustifiable in many cases. Amongst the inmates mistreated, transgender prisoners
are challenged in many ways with abuse, misconduct, and discrimination. Transgender
individuals are people who do not identify themselves with the genderthat was
assigned at birth. The high risk profile of being a transgender inmate in prisonstrikes
for deep concern and something needs to be done.
II.Purpose of paper Prison personnel have not been doing much to secure the safety
and well being of transgender inmates. Some even engage in the unruly behavior and
are the dominant aspects to the problems that transgender inmates sustain. Many
transgender inmates have attempted to seek justice, but their cases were thrown out.
Consequently, it is imperative that people know the conditions and obstacles, in
which transgender prisoners encounter while incarcerated. The problems and
concerns need to be addressed in order to raise awareness, to help provide safety
and security for transgender prisoners because they are humans too. This paper will
raise awareness and provide insight on the challenges that transgender prisoners
experience, ways to improve conditions, and what policies are already put into place.
III.Background The ultimate reoccurring issue that revolves around transgender
prisoners is that they are inappropriately

Slowly I awoke from a deep sleep to the sweet smell of buttermilk pancakes, crispy

urge to roll over and go back to sleep, I made my way out of the soft, inviting hotel
bed and into the cramped kitchen. As I glanced around, I found my parents
making breakfast, and my brothers devouring down the delicious food placed
before them as fast as humanly possible. I quickly made myself a plate to ensure
that my brothers could not consume it all, and then realized that I needed syrup to
make the meal complete. Opening the dark black refrigerator door, I grabbed the

I ran my feet across the damp surface of the sand, making small impressions as I
went, and then watched as they each slowly disappeared. Salty ocean water mist
sprayed me from the front and I had to restrain myself from charging into the

could see surfers attempting to ride the gigantic waves breaking in the distance,
where the water was deep.
While still sitting in the warm, soft sand, I reflected back on the ample amount of
research I had completed only a few weeks earlier, on popular activities to do in
Hawaii. One activity in particular, brought up in the search, had caught my attention.
It was the art of sandcastle building. When building a sandcastle, I learned that the
sky is the limit because there are a variety of different techniques and strategies
that can be used. During the last couple of days before leaving, I spent all my time
on the computer researching all of the necessary steps, small details, and beneficial
tips needed to build a successful sandcastle. I had watched video after video and
read article after article on how to build the ultimate sandcastle and began to
develop a plan that I could put into action when we finally were on our vacation. As
I came out of my daydream, excitement built up inside me as I looked across the
horizon, at the wavy, ocean water again. I realized that the tide was low, which meant

Essay on The History of Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp
Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp was born March 19, 1848, in Monmouth, Illinois. Wyatt s
dad was a soldier in the Mexican War. Wyatt was named after a guy that was the
leader of his dad s unit. Wyatt never really had a permanent home because his dad
was a drinker and gambler. Because, of his dad s gambling and drinking problem he
moved his family around a lot and thats why Wyatt didn t have a permanent home.
When Wyatt was thirteen the Civil War broke out, Wyatt wanted to go fight for the
union like his older brothers but he was to young, so he snuck away from home and
tried to enlist 3 times but was found out he was young and was sent home. Since he
had to stay home he had to tend 8 acres on the farm and his two young brothers

Wyatt got to them he walked up and said You sons of bitches you wanted a fight

drew their guns first is still debated today, but it s believed that Virgil Earp pulled
out his revolver and shot Billy Clanton in the chest at point blank range, while Doc

Earp shot Frank McLaury in the stomach, and the wounded man staggered out into
the street but managed to pull his gun and return fire. Meanwhile, Ike Clanton and
Billy Claiborne ran for their lives. The wounded Frank McLaury and Billy Clanton
both managed to get off several shots before collapsing, and Virgil, Morgan, and
Doc were all hit. The sherrif of tombstone watched the gun fight and charged Wyatt
Earp with murder then a month later the charge was taken off. But, despite its name,
the gunfight actually occurred in a narrow lot six doors west of the rear entrance to
the O.K. Corral on Fremont Street, and also in the street. Another famous gunfight

Adidas and Nike
ADIDAS AND NIKE
Nike and Adidas are two the largest sportswear companies of nowadays. They are the
giants in the sportswear industry, which always introduce innovative products, in
order to become the ultimate market leaders.
Nike is an American multinational corporation, which produces footwear, clothes,
equipment and other active sport items (Feifer 2014). The company was founded in
1964 by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. Nike uses specific method of advertising,
which differentiates it from other sports companies; it creates motivational short
videos, which promote sport and inspire people to stay fit. Hence, making an accent
on sport, but not sportswear, Nike attracts customers in nonintrusive manner. In 2013,

Due to the new small brands, Adidas promotes its own brands, making additional
advertisements for its products. In addition, Adidas is not solely concentrated on the
sportsmen s demands. The promotion strategy also concentrates on an average
consumer who has or may have no connection with sport life. Hence, the promotion
strategy of Adidas embraces wider range of opportunities, which give some
advantages for products promotion, comparing to Nike.
Adidas uses high low pricing method as a key instrument of price regulation. First,
the company sells new goods using the high price, but offers significant discounts,
which make the price lower up to 50% (Seroka amp; Love Johnson 2005). On the
one hand, the point of this strategy is to demonstrate customers the availability of the
products and the company s loyal attitude to its clients. On the other hand, Nike tries
to offer an average price on its products. Hence, a Nike s brand may cost up to 20%
cheaper than a similar product introduced by Adidas (Holmes amp; Bernstein 2004).
In fact, both companies will receive almost the same revenue for a new product line,
but the amount of the profit will be different at the beginning and at the end of the
selling.
In conclusion, it can be said that both companies do well and have their own loyal
customers. Despite the differences in the marketing strategies, they are able to stay
on the top of the global market. From my point of view, Nike should pay more
Critical Reflection on the Hidden Influence of the British...
Introduction
When someone becomes a member of the Parliament, he has to swear an oath of
allegiance to the Crown, instead of swearing loyalty to the people who elected him.
If he rejects to do so, that politician will not be able to take his seat and can also be
fined. Same happens with judges and other public servants in the United Kingdom,
who are, even if symbolically, servants of the Crown. This, however, is just a small
visible end of the real power that the British constitutional monarchy holds over
public employees.
Since the limitation of powers of the Crown in the XVII century the royals have
been using their forceful influence in an unofficial way for their own benefit
(Adams, 2010; Booth 2010 and 2011; Wilson, 1989). Taking... Show more content on

Until the XVII century British monarchs had absolute power, which meant they had
the right to do anything he wanted as they had been appointed by God. However,
after a century of bloody civil wars, unrest and political tensions including the
execution of Charles I, the Revolution of 1688, the rise and fall of a Republic and the
restoration of the monarchy the Parliament passed the Bill of Rights in 1689 (Stoyle,
2011). This document established the first foundations of constitutional monarchy,
that is, a monarchy whose powers are bound by some written and unwritten legal
documents in favour of a more democratic society and ensuring their political
impartiality (Wilkinson, 2006). Thanks to the Bill of Rights the Parliament were able
to legislate, rule and elect members of the Parliament without the Royal interference
needed until that moment.
Since then, the British political system has developed giving more power to the
Parliament to the detriment of the Crown. The Royal powers have been limited to
the summoning, proroguing and dissolution of parliament; the granting of royal
assent to bills; (...) the making of treaties, the declaration of war and the making of
peace as well as to appoint ministers, judges and other public servants among other
rights. The Sovereign also has the privilege of personal immunity. (Maer and Gay,
2009, p.4).
All these powers, though merely symbolic have a huge potential power. Certainly, the
Queen has never either dissolved

My Hero A Hero
What does make a hero a hero? Is it there looks? Alternatively, maybe is it their
personality? However, the question is what are those essential qualities that make
one a hero? Different people require different heroes to look up to or try to
emulate. However, whoever it may be, they all possess certain qualities. My hero
is my mother, for the reason that she is selfless, compassion, and courage. That
kind of selflessness can often be premeditated, since concentrating on others needs
often winds up helping one accomplish one s own goals. However, a heroic leader
does so without any anticipation of a return. The display and concern show the care
one has for others. This can often apparent itself in strong but gentle actions
planned to increase the lives of others. Courage and bravery come to mind first
when we think of heroism. However, it is difficult to achieve anything truly heroic
unless one is up against overwhelming chances. As Nelson Mandela put it, Courage
is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. These minor acts of heroism rarely
attract any notice. A true hero is always sympathetic, benevolent and shows a great
deal of compassion and sympathy to those poorly or in agony. He or she keeps away
judgements; that are oriented to the self and embraces an attitude that serves others.
Selflessness is an extremely important heroic trait, maybe the uppermost important. It
is the driving force behind heroism. Heroes become heroes when they do something

The Tragedy Of Florida Native Jeff Bush
INTRODUCTION Rarely do the geologic processes of the earth make major news
headlines, but oftentimes when they do, it is because a catastrophic event has
occurred and has seized public attention. This was unfortunately the case in 2013,
when Florida native Jeff Bush became the victim of a tragic geologic event that left
many Americans wondering if they were truly ever standing on solid ground
(SinkholeSwallows Florida Man). Bush, and a large portion of his suburban home,
was swallowed up by a sudden sinkhole as his brother looked on in horror, trying in
vain to rescue him as he was forced deeper underground. This sinkhole developed as
a result of the dissolution of limestone, which is prevalent under much of Florida s
soil, and the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of this paper is to define karst topography as it appears in the United
States, to illustrate how natural chemical processes facilitate sinkhole development,
and to present a brief overview of how modern geotechnical and hydrogeological
specialists are attempting to solve the sinkhole problem through innovative
engineering design and land study. Ultimately, the goal from an engineering
perspective is to understand karst and sinkholes on a fundamental level so that a
variety of case by case solutions may be made available to keep the public safe. This
is certainly one geological problem where the stakes are high, and humankind is
competing against the very ground it stands upon. The question is: Will filling holes
in engineering knowledge translate to preventing sinkholes from causing any more
damage than they already have?
KARST The karst terrain which creates the geomorphic conditions for sinkholes is
a broad topic in the field of geology, and encompasses the study of groundwater,
drainage, chemical processes, and many other considerations. Essentially, karst
regions are located where the rock below the earth can be dissolved by the acidic
groundwater which percolates through it (The Science of Sinkholes). These areas are
underlain by soluble rocks such as gypsum, limestone, and dolomite which typically

Public Relations As A Regular Tradition
Due to the early accounts of public relations utilising manipulative practices as a
regular tradition, these tactics have thus overshadowed and continued to be the
predominant view of public relations within modern contexts. This essay will argue
that public relations has evolved considerably beyond the age of press agentry, yet
will still acknowledge the existence of some present day uses of these schemes.
Firstly, this essay will explore the history of public relationsto establish and enforce
the need for change within the profession. Secondly, this essay will discuss the
various new practices and procedures of public relations implied into modern society
and how this aligns with the continuing ethical development of this profession. Lastly,
the essay will analyse the use of methods associated with the press agentry period in
recent years.
Public relations is historically categorised in three stages known as manipulation,
information and mutual benefit, with each consisting of a different core set of
values, methods and desired outcomes. The manipulation period was known for its
continuous abuse of press agentry and publicity stunts to further its manipulative
attempt to gain the attention of the public through the media . To summarise the
manipulation era was infatuated with profit gain and often acted without a moral
compass by fabricating elaborate stories to entice the interest of the public, thus
furthering their financial success. An essential component and

The book I chose to read was 10% Happier How I Tamed The Voice In My Head,
Reduced Stress Without Losing my Edge, And Found Self Help That Actually
Works A True Story by Dan Harris. He is a co anchor on Nightline. His book is
about how to control your internal monologue. We start the book with Harris
talking about his early career as a reporter. Harris had started reporting in Boston
for a local cable network. He then later moved to ABC. Once Harris had arrived at
ABC he knew it was a competition to get yourself a good story. After reporting
some stories for ABC he then got selected to report overseas. When he went overseas

The reason for this is because Harris gives instruction on how to meditate. I myself
have always thought it would be generally hard to meditate due to the fact that I
believed that I would fall asleep attempting to meditate. Not only does he teach you
how to meditate he make sure to give advice for a few explanations on why you
may not be meditating properly such as it be boring to do, not being able to focus,
pain from positioning yourself. Some of these things where some problems I had
myself with meditation; like my mind would always wonder while trying to
meditate. A way that Harris talks about for you to keep focus while meditating is
by thinking of your body from head to toe starting all the way at your toes and on
to your calfs and so on until you get to the top of your head and then you repeat the
same process going back down. He also mentions to control your breathing but not
to primarily think about it. If standard meditation doesn t work for you Harris
suggest two other types of meditation. One type is walking meditation. Walking
meditation is simple to do. All you have to do is set a certain distance in which you
choose to walk and you pace yourself back and forth while focusing on one central
point which is not looking down to your feet. The other form of meditation is
compassion meditation. In this style of meditation you are picturing someone and
wishing them good vibes. You generally start with yourself
The Causes And Effects Of False Memory
False memory can occur for many different reasons. Some factors include; that the
human brain is very susceptible to suggestion, and the misinformation and
misattribution of the original source of the information. Existing knowledge and
other memories can also interfere with the formation of a new memory, causing the
recollection of an event to be mistaken or entirely false. (VERYWELL CITE). For
instance, memory researcher Elizabeth Loftus conducted experiments in the mid
seventies on the effect of third parties incorporating false facts to memories. Subjects
were shown a slide of a car at an intersection with either a yield signor a stop sign.
Experimenters asked participants questions, falsely introducing the term stop sign
into the question instead of referring to the yield sign participants had actually seen.
Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term yield sign in questions directed
to participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The results indicated that
subjects remembered seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues altered
participants memories. (STANFORD JOURNAL).
Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is the process of
interpretation that occurs at the very formation of memory thus introducing distortion
from the beginning. Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without
the help of examiners, police officers or lawyers. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our
memory can be affected by us
SHAYS’S REBELLION AND THE U.S.
CONSTITUTION Essay
SHAYS S REBELLION AND THE U.S. CONSTITUTION
Introduction
Although not widely known, Shays s Rebellion greatly impacted the debate on
sovereignty and led many to conclude that the only possible solution was the
centralization of power in a national authority. Historian John Garraty notes, The
lessons became plain: Liberty must not become an excuse for license; and therefore
greater authority must be vested in the central government. [1] While this effect was
not the rebels intended goal, Shays s Rebellion helped shape the construction of the
U.S. Constitution and the American political thought that has since followed. An
analysis of both the causes and effects of Shays s Rebellion highlights its contribution

They were stopped by a 3,000 man army commissioned by Massachusetts Governor
James Bowdoin. The farmers continued to express their aggravations through riotous
manifestations. After a series of several threatening (but not altogether violent)
interactions, Major General Benjamin Lincoln, head of the state authorized militia,
finally subdued the rebellion in late February when the harsh New England winter
limited the rebels ability to flee government forces. All in all, The fears that were
aroused by the rebellion helped to produce a stronger central government in the
United States. [3] Shays s Rebellion was a major catalyst for the Constitutional
Convention. Frightened by disorder in what was supposed to be the strongest state in
the nation, George Washington and other important national leaders met in
Philadelphia during the summer of 1787 to draft the U.S. Constitution.
Historical Context
Under the Articles of Confederation ratified in 1781, each state was responsible for
collecting its own revenues and alleviating its own debt. In the early 1780s,
Massachusetts was burdened by a $5 million debt comprised of various expenses
incurred during the Revolutionary War. It was also subject to a call for even more
money by the Continental Congress as part of its quota for

Home Depot was one of the biggest home improvement retailers of America with
more than 2248 stores around the world. It was established by Bernie Marcus and
Arthur Blank in 1978. Home Depot is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. For two
decades after its commencement the organization experienced quick development.
Be that as it may, in the mid 2000s the organization execution backed off and Bob

authoritative structure and that functioned admirably until 2000. In mid 1980s, the
point was to convey stockroom retailing idea to the home focus industry. This was
thought to be simply the main effective organization in Do it Yourself (DIY)

The Effects Of Hellish Interpersonal Characters In No

Hellish Interpersonal Situations by Peng Su
Situations of unpleasant interactions between people are common even in our
societies. At least each person has at one time has experienced a terrible or
unpleasant interaction with another person. In the play No Exit by Sartre and the
poems The Waste Land by Eliot, there are similar unpleasant interactions depicted. No
Exit is a play consisting of three characters Inez, Garcin, and Estelle who are in hell
damned in one room. The characters had thought hell was a place for punishment but
rather found themselves in a room well furnished. However, all the characters refuse
to admit to their damnation reasons. The Waste Land on the other hand is a
collection of poems that delve in war, disillusionment, death, and trauma themes to
show the effects of World War I. Therefore, the focus of this essay is to discuss
unpleasant interpersonal situations depicted in the two texts and that are similar.
In both texts, the characters were frightened by the interactions with the other
people. In The Waste Land in The Burial of the Dead , Marie was frightened when
her cousin insisted on taking her on a sled out in the snow and sliding down the hills
(Elliot 5). In No Exit Garcin who was the first person to be brought in the room by
the Valet and was frightened when the Valet left and came with Inez. Garcin was
frightened by the presence of Inez in the room as she thought he
Workrate Definition
How do you define workrate?
The term workrate was introduced to me during the earlier stages of my wrestling
fandom when I stumbled upon online communities who would throw the word
around quite readily. Even with the term still in common usage, I have never seen
it given a widely agreed upon and concrete definition. In my view workrate is
somewhat distinct from good work , and refers to the athletic and mechanical
aspects of a match, in addition to the fluidity of its execution, bumping, and the
like. It says very little for the emotional components of a match or wrestler, for
facials, and more complex elements of selling. Whilst this does mean that many, if
not most good workrate matches are well worked, and many high workrate
wrestlers are great workers, the contrapositive does not hold those who do not have
the mechanical and athletic prowess of a high workrate performer may very well be
just as good as far as quality of match output is concerned.
Is workrate important to you?
Workrate is important to me and my enjoyment in a match, most certainly. Mitsuharu
Misawa and Kenta Kobashi, two of my all time favourite wrestlers exhibited
exceptionally high workrate throughout their storied careers; particularly at their
peaks. But, does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

An Aortic Dissection
Introduction
The aorta is a three layered structure composed of the inner layer being the intima,
middle layer being the media, and the outer layer being the adventitia. An aortic
dissection (AD) starts when a tear forms in the intimal layer of the aorta. Due to the
high pressure environment within the aorta, blood is forced into the tear causing the
intimal layer to separate/dissect from the medial layer of the aorta. This separation
will cause a new chamber to form between the intima and the media called a false
lumen (FL). Patients with this condition will experience a variety of symptoms that
may be similar to that of other conditions. There are several risk factors associated
with AD; however, the exact cause is unknown.
A chest x ray is usually the first type of imaging ordered when a patient arrives with
chest pain or complaints. In the case of an AD, a chest x ray will typically display
a widening of the aorta; however, an x ray will not be able to diagnose an AD. If
an AD is suspected after the initial x ray, several advanced modalities can be used
to diagnose this condition. For a definite diagnosis a transesophageal
echocardiogram (TEE), CT chest with contrast, or a MRA is needed.1 Upon
arriving in a radiology department, the technologist s ability to acquire a good
history may be the best tool in order to expedite the process in diagnosing an AD.

Stanton Coit Contribution To Society
Stanton Coit was born in Ohio in 1857. He grew up in a time burgeoning with
social change and reform. After years of study at various institutions Coit founded
Neighborhood Guild, the original settlement house in the United States.
Settlement houses were places, set up in poor areas, which provided a helping
hand for the neighborhood (Koger, 2015). He also founded the South Place
Ethical Society in London, which focused on the ethical issues in all areas of life
and society (Hansan, 2011). Coit was born in the wake of the industrial revolution,
and worked in the slums of large cities like New York and London. Coit desired
reforms for working class folks. He wished to see greater organization among lower
class groups, which would hopefully aid... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of his greatest contributions is Neighborhood Guild. Coit (1892) explains that
the idea behind the Neighborhood Guild is that all people, of all ages, in one
neighborhood, no matter their beliefs, should be organized into a set clubs (p. 7).
These clubs could work independently or together to pursue certain social
improvements, in a given area. At one point, Coit and others lived in the settlement
house to educate themselves about life in these areas, and to better assist in the
reforms. They also gathered information and research to be published and to help
change laws (Hansan, 2011). During his time in the Neighborhood Guild, Coit
worked on many reforms. He worked on improving housing, streets, schools, labor
conditions, politics, transportation, and a plethora of other issues plaguing these areas
(Hansan, 2013). Along with his work with the Neighborhood Guild, Coit also
founded the South Place Ethical Society in London. The Ethical Society s aim is ...to
assert the supreme importance of the ethical factor in all relations of life, personal,
social, national, and international, apart from any theological or metaphysical
considerations (Hansan, 2011, para. 1). Essentially, the Ethical Society worked to
improve the well being of communities, without having specific religious affiliations.
In the hymns and anthems of the South Place Ethical Society, Kohler (1890)
introduces the book by explaining how the hymns and anthems express the beauty
and importance of life and of people, the wonders of nature, the understanding that
people live with both happiness and pain, in life, and that all of this can be understood
in the service of mankind. Again, we see that Coit, through the South Place Ethical
Society, had set up an institution to help people and reform a hurting

Iraq s Water Poverty
According to E. Feitelson and J. Chenoweth, Water poverty is a situation where a
nation or region cannot afford the cost of sustainable clean water to all people at all
times. Iraq is a war torn country that s having many internal problems. Until
recently, Iraq has been badly struck by water poverty. In fact, this war of water has
been making Iraqi officials worried that, it may do what decades of war have not
been able to destroy the country. (Nizar Latif and Phil Sands) There are numerous
human and environmental factors that affect Iraq s water and water quality. For
environmental factors, Iraq is currently going through its worse drought in decades.
(UNESCO office for Iraq). There has been poor rainfall and higher temperatures than
before. (Nizar Latif and Phil Sands). For human factors, the two main rivers that keep
Iraq alive, the Tigris and the Euphrates, have been having reduced water flows.
Recently, Turkey have been battling its own water crisis, (Joost Jongerden) The
same is also true for Syria as it s also drawing in water from the Tigris and the
Euphrates (John Vidal). With Turkey and Syria at the upstream of the Tigris and
Euphrates rivers and Iraq at the downstream, Iraq is unable to match up with the
efforts of Turkey s and Syria s and can t do much since it s weaker. Iraq s

Inflation Is A Serious Imbalance
Inflation is considered to be one of the most harmful economic phenomena that
manifest in contemporary economies, being considered a chronic disease difficult
to control, which can cause recessions (Thornton, 2012, p. 119). Inflation is a
serious imbalance in the currently economy and is represented by a generalized
increase in prices and a simultaneous decrease in the purchasing power of the
national currency. It is a final indicator that shows at the end of a fiscal period if the
monetary, fiscal and legal policies were coordinating and were leading to consumer
price stability. Deflation is often defined as the opposite of inflation, namely as a
situation where there is a general decrease in prices over a long period of time.
However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As it can be seen in figure 1, CPI (as reported by the Federal Reserve Bank of St.
Louis FRED) recorded an upward general trend over time. After the crisis of
1980s, a period which was preceded by the Great Inflation from 1965 to 1984, the
CPI encountered a strong increase which held (with some small variations, as in the
1990s and 2000s) till the beginning of 2008, when the financial crisis struck the
economy. After 2008 2010 (a period with low rates), the consumer price index started
to increase, with small variations.

Looking at figure 2 above, we can observe that the level of inflation (as a percent
change) has experienced a maximum for the recovery period in 2012 of nearly 2
percent. After this point, the decreasing trend was retaken. The Trimmed Mean PCE
inflation rate is another method to measure the inflation in the price index of the
personal consumption expenditures (PCE). Here it must be noted that FED
practiced an inflation target policy of about 2 percent, specified since the beginning
of 2012. The 2 percent target was mostly a reinforcement of the FED commitment
of low inflation rates and a ratifying of a policy which was practiced for a long time.
The 2 percent path was maintained since 1995 (Williamson, 2014, p. 112).
The imbalances of the price level stability are caused mainly by the monetary mass
Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse
Overview of Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse Gathering requirements from
end users was an important step in resolving the issues that currently exist at
Canadian Tire. Gathering requirements for a data warehouse is not the same as
defining the requirements for an operational system (Ponniah, pg. 121). When you
research and then develop any system, it is critical that the system produces exactly
what the users need to perform their specific tasks. CTC did not have this production
for their end users. These users typically do not understand the big picture workings
of a data warehousingprocess. Therefore, the help of a business analyst is critical.
From the results provided in the case study, we can agree that these requirements
must be addressed:
Capacity constraints
User query times

Overview of Canadian Tire s Business Intelligence The current process for CTC to
acquire BI is a broken system. Much of the information derived, from the current
data in the warehouse, was done by FRAG, individual user groups and hired
business analysts who extracted data and created reports. This was creating a serious
misallocation of resources and responsibilities throughout the company. Shadow
groups, created to complete some of the required BI tasks, were not only less
efficient than an organized strategy, but were also a security risk to CTC. With small
groups taking over the responsibility of creating BI, the

The Road To Independence By Joe Hagmann Analysis
From the perspective of a parent, whose primary concern is the wellbeing of their
child, some of the author s points seem valid. However, I find the author, Joe
Hagmann, has his tin foil hat on, and the thought that the entertainment industry is
conducting an elaborate scheme to brainwash children, is a tad further than ridiculous.
To eliminate independence from the equation doesn t seem like a sound idea in my
opinion. Yes, for the most part parents are an excellent force of guidance that can
steer a child in the correct direction, but limited exposure to the media and the un
Godly world we live in won t be as useful when they re old enough to leave the nest. I
don t believe that a parent s word will be enough to prepare oneself for reality. For
instance, you can describe to someone how to make a movie with an infinite amount
of detail, but it s trumped by the much simpler option of showing them a movie and
learning by example. Would a 9 year old, like Hagmann s be too young for complete
autonomy and control in their life. Yes. I, however, believe that the road to
independence should be gradual, and that parents should have full authority, and then
throw them into the deep end when they re still highly dependent on them.
I view a bad TV show, like the one described by the author, as an excellent
opportunity to draw a line in the sand between right and wrong. Besides, plenty of
TV shows exemplify good morals and virtues, and often when the characters make an

The Role Of Aristocratic Women In The Tudor Period
When looking at much of Tudor History especially at the earlier reigns of Henry
VII and his successor Henry VIII many historians have neglected to explore the
agency of women in this period. More specifically the agency of women in the
aristocracy is something that can be heavily debated. Aristocratic women in the
Tudor period while often presented as side actors who get acted upon are were
actually dynamic individuals who forged their own paths. When looking at these
women it is important to analyze it in terms of their religion, family, and social
position.
Through much of my research I found that these dynamic women had complex
motives and reasoning behind most of their actions. It is also important to note that
many of these women who did not always have the agency they wanted were being
constrained by either their wealth, family, or social position. The day to day and
struggles of an aristocratic women s early life greatly deferred from those of the
more common women and for this reason the case of their agency is wholly different.
When analyzing the autonomy of aristocratic women of the Tudor period it is
impossible to overlook Anne Boleyn and her rise and fall to power. It is important to
analyze how her family the Boleyn s as well as the Howards shaped her life but
also the way she shaped theirs. Some historians say that you can t look at Anne as
an example as the agency of an aristocratic women because she was queen of
England. This is not necessarily true as she

morals on many occasions and does not remain true to herself I did whatever he
asked of me . We see the truth in Van Leeuwenhoek s warning that the women in his
paintings he traps them in his world, as it is only with Vermeer that Griet loses
control.
When she was with Pieter she would not let him do all he wanted , but for Vermeer
she pierces her ears, parts her lips, reveals her hair and is in all sense a ruined woman.
Not only does Vermeer become the focus for Griet s emergent sexuality, he also
serves to expand her mind and perspective on life. Teaching her that there is little
pure white in clouds , Griet realises that the world is not always as it seems.
Similarly, Griet s religious prejudices instilled in her by her family and society are
quelled by Vermeer who teaches her that Its not the painting that is catholic or
ProtestantВ…but the people who look at it, and what they expect to see .
Furthermore, Griet s artistic ability is fostered by Vermeer as he teaches her to grind
paints and build up false colours to
A Reflection At The Center For Inclusion And Campus...
A Reflection at the Center for Inclusion and Campus Involvement: Social Justice
Pre Practicum Unlike my mental health pre practicum which was an off campus
endeavor at Aspire Health Partners, my social justice, and advocacy prepracticum
took place on the campus of Rollins at the Center for Inclusion and Campus
Involvement (CICI). Working this semester for CICI was an eye opening
experience. For over four months, I was able to abide by CICI s mission statement
which consists of the following values; inclusion, courageous leadership,
authenticity, and social change. My endeavors were directed towards the LGBTQ
community at Rollins, but I was also able to work with incoming students with
Title IX and Buzz to help the new students understand how to be safe in campus.
My professional and personal values remained congruent with the social justice and
social advocacy mission values of CICI, and afforded me the chance to see the
ethics of my mental health counseling program in action. Accordingly, my values
stand as self determination to encourage social justice and social change on behalf
of my clients. It behooves me to highlight how meaningful this value subsists for me
since this was one of the central purposes that inspired me to pursue a career in
mental health counseling. As a gay man, I realized that the LGBTQ community
needs many advocates for their rights and for society s acceptance, especially for the
LGBTQ youth of today. Therefore, I recognized that counseling was
Prospect Theory And Expected Utility Theory
Essay
Introduction
Negotiations and decisions are act as key counterparts in every business. A clear
definition as well as the recognition of core elements surrounding the decision
making process is required to reach a suitable decision. These approaches purpose to
be achieved clear concerns before a final decision making. This paper will outline
prospect theory and discuss the differences between prospect theory and expected
utility theory. Following will be, as explanation of the biases and heuristics of the
investment decision making process.
Part 1.
Prospect theory is an important alternative descriptive theory for decision making
under unreliable situation (Kahneman and Tversky 1979), which includes real life
selection and psychological analysis between choices that involve risk. Prospect
theory, which efforts to explain individual make decisions between risky
replacements based on the value of potential gains and losses (Wakker 2010),
advanced from expected utility theory, which explains that investors want to
maximize expected utility of wealth when unclearly situations (Blavatskyy 2007).
According to Kahneman and Tversky (1992), more recent researches perceived
nonlinear preferences in choices that do not involve definite events in prospective
theory. The concept of framing effect refers description invariances (Kahneman and
Tversky 1992). To be specific, individual always makes the same decision in identical
choice conditions. Also, decision makers have tendency to
Catcher In The Rye And Donnie Darko Analysis
Texts cannot exist outside their context; texts implicitly and explicitly embody the
values of the society of which they are written. Both The Catcher in the Rye and
Donnie Darko depict the societal norms of the period the texts were set in.
However, Salinger s novel and Kelly s film both portray the protagonist of their text
to be classified an outsider; subverting norms and rebelling against those in power.
Catcher in the Rye, a bildungsroman masterpiece is set in the late 1940 s in America,
and consequently, focuses on the contextual ideology of the American Dream.
Donnie Darkoa sci.fi film made in 2001 however, is set in a period of conservatism
in America in the late 1980 s. Despite, differing contexts, both pieces accurately
explore the beneficial and dire implications associated with transgressing social
conventions.
Donnie Darko, the namesake of the film and his anti institutional behaviour
provides insight into the perils and prospects of going against society. Despite the
film s release in 2001, Kelly placed the film in 1988 to project his message on the
family values agenda, a consequence of political oppression with wide spread
support for the conservatives. The main advocates behind this notion in the film are
seen to be Mrs Farmer and Cunningham, both of whom Darko viewed as forces of
tyranny and solely challenges. Donnie may have had a suburban upbringing,
however, Donnie will have no part in withholding traditional family values, where he
is seen to take
Comparing Warriors Don T Cry And I Never Had It Made
Extended Writing Project Alyssa Bishop Life changing events or turning points can
affect many people s lives and countries. These turning points takes a person s life

Pattillo Beals,In this story the character and author melba Beals is known for being

She was one of the 9 Students said in paragraph students who helped all africans
americans have the same education as white people. Melba Beals also faced many
different challenges. One challenge melba Beals faced were white people Raising
their fist. ( Beals), and they were also Shouting ugly words. ( Beals), As you can
see this was very similar to Jackie Robinson. Another challenge Beals faced was
people looking at her even though they knew her well. As said in the story
Warriors Don t Cry Melba says Even those who know me well ,were staring as
though I was different from them . This caused Melba to feel a little concerned.
The last challenge Beals face was Angry segregationist mobs ( Beals) That
forbidden black students to enter central high school.Despite all the challenges
Beals faced, She grew by being determined and showed courage to achieve her goal
of black people having equal rights as white. All of these challenges helped beals to
learn to appreciate what good people are in the world to protect her. All of this help

Why Is Lou Gehrig Important
Have you ever wondered if there was a legend or two in each baseball team. Lou
Gehrig is undeniably courageous because He was an excellent ballplayer, Also he
was a respectful person, and He would always Persevere. My first example showed
how Lou Gehrig was an excellent person. On August 17, 1933, New York Yankees
first baseman Lou Gehrigplays in his 1,308th consecutive game, breaking former
Yankee Everett Scott s record for consecutive games played, This would be
excellence because he had broken the record for most consecutive games. That wasn
t all that made him an excellent person he was the All Star first baseman for the first
seven All Star teams, from 1933 39, though he retired just shy of the 1939 game.
During his 17 seasons, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But it seemed that another teammate always got more headline attention. First it was
Babe Ruth, then later Joe DiMaggio. When historian Fred Lieb asked Gehrig about
playing in Ruth s shadow, Gehrig s answer was true to form: It s a pretty big
shadow. It gives me lots of room to spread myself. He wasn t the only person that
did not persevere. His mother, a strong woman who was intent on creating a better
life for her son, worked constantly, cleaning houses and cooking meals for wealthy
New Yorkers. His mother would never give up on giving her son to have a better life.
Lou would also persevere when he was a child. As a boy, Lou was a fan of the Giants,
and he attended games at the Polo Grounds whenever he could save up the 25
cents needed for a left field bleacher seat. Years later, he recalled, The Giants had
been our favorites, and our quarters had all gone for a seat in the left field
bleachers, This showed how Lou Gehrig had never given up to get enough money to
be able to watch a baseball

Summary According to a recent investigation by CBC news Marketplace , they
found evident which indicated many establishments in Niagara Falls temp to mislead
consumers between HST and voluntary tourism fee which may display as TIF,

great contribution to fireworks, festivals and events in the city. On the contrary, some
establishments increased from 3.8% to 8% or even 10% without explanations. This

Jaeden-Personal Narrative
Jaeden ran through the forest panting and sweating, fleeing for his life. His knees
were gory, stained by fresh blood and covered in cuts and scrapes caused from the
thick, tall grass that whipped against his pacing legs. His face had swelled up,
whacked by branches and leaves that left awfully irritating scratches in their wake.
His dark umber eyes widened with fear and he could feel every heartbeat pounding
in his chest faster and faster. He stopped to catch his uneasy breath. As he looked
back, he could see a man limping closer and closer. A man with a white, rubber
mask that covered his face. He was dressed in a worn out cotton tank top and sagging
jeans and was creeping forward. The man chuckled as Jaeden nervously scurried
backwards. Slowly, his chuckle transitioned into the devilish laugh of a mad man.
Then with one swoop, the man struck a knife through Jaeden...... Show more content

Comparison Of Romeo And Juliet 1996 And 1996
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most commemorated and referenced plays in the
history of the world. Because it is so popular, many variations of the play exist.
Since different ideas about the play have produced a multitude of different
reenactments, lots of plays out there have many differences. Three of these versions,
Two of which are movies made, one in 1968, the other in 1996, and the last is an
actual play production on Broadway in 2014, have many differences and similarities.
What we can interpret from these variations is that even though the words on the
script may not change, with time, culture can alter the appearance and mood of the
production. Romeo and Juliet (1968) was filmed mostly in Rome, Italy. The movie
featured sixteen year old... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of these similarities come between Romeo + Juliet (1996), and Romeo and
Juliet (1968). Both of these productions are movies, and such allows the viewer to
get a better visual experience of the script by Shakespeare. Two two of these share
many qualities, such as the Montagues and Capulets being two of the wealthiest
houses in Verona, and a very open conflict between each other. The two of these
also share some contrast. In the 1968 film, both houses were Caucasian, however,
in the 1996 film, there is an ethnic difference between the Montagues, who are
white, and the Capulets, who are Hispanic, except for Juliet and Juliet s direct
family. Another difference is that the fight between the houses in the 1996 version
was more gang related, violent, and involves the use of firearms, while the 1968
version is a chivalrous conflict, and cheap swords, not guns, are used. What s also
the same between these two is that the setting in both of these have hot climates.
Rome, Italy, which is where the 1968 version was filmed, typically has warmer
temperatures year round. Los Angeles, California, where the 1996 film was set has
hot and dry temperatures and weather, especially in the
William Of Orange And James II And The Glorious
Revolution
Background On July 1 1690, William of Orange and James II led their respective
armies into battle at the River Boyne. James II was a Catholic king who gained
power in England after King Charles II died in 1685. Many of James opponents
were Protestant, and they were strongly against the Catholic monarch. James
daughter, Mary, was married to William of Orange, and she was Protestant. For
many years, Mary was James only child. This meant that if James II died, she would
take the throne. This brought great comfort to the Protestant groups in Ireland, as
their ruler would no longer be Catholic. However, when James wife had a son, the
crown would be passed to him, and England would have another Catholic monarch.
This caused panic and outrage from James Protestant opponents, which led them to
invite William of Orange to invade England and overthrow James II (BBC: Battle of
the Boyne). William accepted, and he and his army invaded England in November
of 1688. The invasion was successful, and William and Mary were awarded the
throne as joint monarchs. This event was known as the Glorious Revolution . For a
year, James II chose not to fight. Many English nobles were taking the side of
William. This made James reluctant to attempt to regain the throne (BBC: Battle of
the Boyne).

The flintlock musket. Ironically, the flintlock musket was originally designed for
King Louis by a Frenchman named Marin le Bourgeoys. As opposed to matchlock,
flintlock muskets didn t require a lit match to ignite the gunpowder. Instead, the
flintlock created a spark that did this. The shooter no longer had to use a match to fire
the weapon. This increased the fire rate and limited the amount of gunpowder used
while shooting. This innovation led to the birth of the modern firearm (The Firearms

The artistic element of the essay-writing process emerges in capturing the reader's imagination and fostering a sense of connection to the natural world. Acid Rain Effects From the precise moment, man first polluted the world, from burning fossil fuels to urbanization, many people were uneducated about the threatening long term effects that came along with these massive innovations. One of the many serious threats is acid rain and a lot of people don t notice the effects of this worldwide dilemma. It is now apparent that acid rain will now affect our everyday lives. Acid precipitation impacts the environment, the people, many animals, and industries in the world. When we burn fossil fuels nitrous and sulfuric gases are released into the atmosphere and these gases react with water and oxygen, therefore, making acid rain.(National Geographic,2017) Acid rain comes in many forms like snow, hail, and dust particles too. (Environmental Protection Agency, N.d) Acid rain destroys many habitats, ecosystems, wear down buildings and statues, and can contaminate many bodies of water in Canada. Acid rain is prevalent near the eastern side of Canada and has also made a huge impact in a city named Sudbury. Acid precipitation was very common in the mid 19 century due to industrialization and lack of technology and knowledge of pollution. However, you may find an improvement in your health if you limit exposure to them. Sadly, you cannot get rid of bed mites completely. • 7. The A 40 Year Old Woman Presents With Fatigue A 40 year old woman presents with fatigue. She has felt very run down for the past 3 months and has had no interest in participating in her usual activities and sporting events. She has had sleeping problems and low appetite. She is constantly feeling low and has frequent crying spells. Her physical examination is normal and thyroid function is normal. She is diagnosed with major depression and is referred for counseling and started on fluoxetine. What is the mechanism of action of fluoxetine? Fluoxetine is an antidepressant belonging to the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class of drugs used mainly for the treatment of major depression, obsessive compulsive, disorder, and panic disorder (Nordqvist, 2014, p. 1). SSRI work by increasing the levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that regulates several aspects of brain function such as mood, sleep, and emotion (Mandal, 2014, p. 1). Fluoxetine works by blocking the absorption (reuptake) of serotonin, which helps to regulate and stabilize mood. Since uptake is an important mechanism for removing released neurotransmitters and terminating their actions on adjacent nerves, the reduced uptake caused by fluoxetine increased the free serotonin that stimulates nerve cells in the brain (Ogbru, 2014, p. 1). Why is fluoxetine the drug of choice? This medication is the drug of choice for this patient since the use in treating depression is well established.
  • 8. Factors Influencing The Change Process Introduction Change is an important part of organizational life and is affected by a multitude of complex factors both within and without the organization. While numerous theories exist to explain the change process, the organization and leadership within an organization, the change process fails more often than not (Gilley, McMillan Gilley, 2009). The purpose of this paper is to examine the factors limiting the change effort and how to transition to successful change. Change Defining the change process in an organization is an important aspect in determining whether the change was successful and how the process can be improved. It is also important to understand why change is necessary. According to Goodstein and Burke (1999) the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To understand the change process, many models have been developed. The seminal work in the field of change theory is that of Kurt Lewin in 1947 where he defines three steps for successful change: unfreezing, movement, refreezing (Gilley, McMillan Gilley, 2009; Goodstein and Burke, 1991). Many models have followed and expanded on Lewin s three steps, including models by Burke and Litwin (1992), Nadler and Tushman (1980), and Tichy (1983) however all of these models have been criticized for being too linear while the change process is clearly not (Gilley, McMillan Gilley, 2009; Goodstein and Burke, 1991). In addition to the models that explain the change process, the type of change that the organization is going through also plays a role. In their review of literature Gilley, McMillan Gilley (2009) identified three types of change: transitional, transformational and developmental. Transitional changes are small changes, transformational are radical shifts and developmental are continuous changes. Goodstein and Burke (1991) see two different levels of change as well and call them fundamental, which is similar to the transformational change identified by Gilley et al. and fine tuning which is similar to the transitional changes identified by Gilley et al. Likewise, Weick and Quinn (1999), basing their work on

Due to the new small brands, Adidas promotes its own brands, making additional advertisements for its products. In addition, Adidas is not solely concentrated on the sportsmen s demands. The promotion strategy also concentrates on an average consumer who has or may have no connection with sport life. Hence, the promotion strategy of Adidas embraces wider range of opportunities, which give some advantages for products promotion, comparing to Nike. Adidas uses high low pricing method as a key instrument of price regulation. First, the company sells new goods using the high price, but offers significant discounts, which make the price lower up to 50% (Seroka amp; Love Johnson 2005). On the one hand, the point of this strategy is to demonstrate customers the availability of the products and the company s loyal attitude to its clients. On the other hand, Nike tries to offer an average price on its products. Hence, a Nike s brand may cost up to 20% cheaper than a similar product introduced by Adidas (Holmes amp; Bernstein 2004). In fact, both companies will receive almost the same revenue for a new product line, but the amount of the profit will be different at the beginning and at the end of the selling. In conclusion, it can be said that both companies do well and have their own loyal customers. Despite the differences in the marketing strategies, they are able to stay on the top of the global market. From my point of view, Nike should pay more
  • 13. Critical Reflection on the Hidden Influence of the British... Introduction When someone becomes a member of the Parliament, he has to swear an oath of allegiance to the Crown, instead of swearing loyalty to the people who elected him. If he rejects to do so, that politician will not be able to take his seat and can also be fined. Same happens with judges and other public servants in the United Kingdom, who are, even if symbolically, servants of the Crown. This, however, is just a small visible end of the real power that the British constitutional monarchy holds over public employees. Since the limitation of powers of the Crown in the XVII century the royals have been using their forceful influence in an unofficial way for their own benefit (Adams, 2010; Booth 2010 and 2011; Wilson, 1989). Until the XVII century British monarchs had absolute power, which meant they had the right to do anything he wanted as they had been appointed by God. However, after a century of bloody civil wars, unrest and political tensions including the execution of Charles I, the Revolution of 1688, the rise and fall of a Republic and the restoration of the monarchy the Parliament passed the Bill of Rights in 1689 (Stoyle, 2011). This document established the first foundations of constitutional monarchy, that is, a monarchy whose powers are bound by some written and unwritten legal documents in favour of a more democratic society and ensuring their political impartiality (Wilkinson, 2006). Thanks to the Bill of Rights the Parliament were able to legislate, rule and elect members of the Parliament without the Royal interference needed until that moment. Since then, the British political system has developed giving more power to the Parliament to the detriment of the Crown. The Royal powers have been limited to the summoning, proroguing and dissolution of parliament; the granting of royal assent to bills; (...) the making of treaties, the declaration of war and the making of peace as well as to appoint ministers, judges and other public servants among other rights. The Sovereign also has the privilege of personal immunity. (Maer and Gay, 2009, p.4). All these powers, though merely symbolic have a huge potential power. Certainly, the Queen has never either dissolved

  • 15. My Hero A Hero What does make a hero a hero? Is it there looks? Alternatively, maybe is it their personality? However, the question is what are those essential qualities that make one a hero? Different people require different heroes to look up to or try to emulate. However, whoever it may be, they all possess certain qualities. My hero is my mother, for the reason that she is selfless, compassion, and courage. That kind of selflessness can often be premeditated, since concentrating on others needs often winds up helping one accomplish one s own goals. However, a heroic leader does so without any anticipation of a return. The display and concern show the care one has for others. This can often apparent itself in strong but gentle actions planned to increase the lives of others. Courage and bravery come to mind first when we think of heroism. However, it is difficult to achieve anything truly heroic unless one is up against overwhelming chances. As Nelson Mandela put it, Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. These minor acts of heroism rarely attract any notice. A true hero is always sympathetic, benevolent and shows a great deal of compassion and sympathy to those poorly or in agony. He or she keeps away judgements; that are oriented to the self and embraces an attitude that serves others. Selflessness is an extremely important heroic trait, maybe the uppermost important. It is the driving force behind heroism. Heroes become heroes when they do something for

This is certainly one geological problem where the stakes are high, and humankind is competing against the very ground it stands upon. The question is: Will filling holes in engineering knowledge translate to preventing sinkholes from causing any more damage than they already have? KARST The karst terrain which creates the geomorphic conditions for sinkholes is a broad topic in the field of geology, and encompasses the study of groundwater, drainage, chemical processes, and many other considerations. Essentially, karst regions are located where the rock below the earth can be dissolved by the acidic groundwater which percolates through it (The Science of Sinkholes). These areas are underlain by soluble rocks such as gypsum, limestone, and dolomite which typically react with carbonic acid (H2CO3) from groundwater to dissolve the rock. Presence of limestone is

Public Relations As A Regular Tradition Due to the early accounts of public relations utilising manipulative practices as a regular tradition, these tactics have thus overshadowed and continued to be the predominant view of public relations within modern contexts. This essay will argue that public relations has evolved considerably beyond the age of press agentry, yet will still acknowledge the existence of some present day uses of these schemes. Firstly, this essay will explore the history of public relationsto establish and enforce the need for change within the profession. Secondly, this essay will discuss the various new practices and procedures of public relations implied into modern society and how this aligns with the continuing ethical development of this profession. Lastly, the essay will analyse the use of methods associated with the press agentry period in recent years. Public relations is historically categorised in three stages known as manipulation, information and mutual benefit, with each consisting of a different core set of values, methods and desired outcomes. The manipulation period was known for its continuous abuse of press agentry and publicity stunts to further its manipulative attempt to gain the attention of the public through the media . To summarise the manipulation era was infatuated with profit gain and often acted without a moral compass by fabricating elaborate stories to entice the interest of the public, thus furthering their financial success. He is a co anchor on Nightline. His book is about how to control your internal monologue. We start the book with Harris talking about his early career as a reporter. Harris had started reporting in Boston for a local cable network. He then later moved to ABC. Once Harris had arrived at ABC he knew it was a competition to get yourself a good story. I myself have always thought it would be generally hard to meditate due to the fact that I believed that I would fall asleep attempting to meditate. Not only does he teach you how to meditate he make sure to give advice for a few explanations on why you may not be meditating properly such as it be boring to do, not being able to focus, pain from positioning yourself. Some of these things where some problems I had myself with meditation; like my mind would always wonder while trying to meditate. A way that Harris talks about for you to keep focus while meditating is by thinking of your body from head to toe starting all the way at your toes and on to your calfs and so on until you get to the top of your head and then you repeat the same process going back down. He also mentions to control your breathing but not to primarily think about it. If standard meditation doesn t work for you Harris suggest two other types of meditation. One type is walking meditation. Walking meditation is simple to do. All you have to do is set a certain distance in which you choose to walk and you pace yourself back and forth while focusing on one central point which is not looking down to your feet. The other form of meditation is compassion meditation. In this style of meditation you are picturing someone and wishing them good vibes. You generally start with yourself
  • 22. The Causes And Effects Of False Memory False memory can occur for many different reasons. Some factors include; that the human brain is very susceptible to suggestion, and the misinformation and misattribution of the original source of the information. Existing knowledge and other memories can also interfere with the formation of a new memory, causing the recollection of an event to be mistaken or entirely false. (VERYWELL CITE). For instance, memory researcher Elizabeth Loftus conducted experiments in the mid seventies on the effect of third parties incorporating false facts to memories. Subjects were shown a slide of a car at an intersection with either a yield signor a stop sign. Experimenters asked participants questions, falsely introducing the term stop sign into the question instead of referring to the yield sign participants had actually seen. Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term yield sign in questions directed to participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The results indicated that subjects remembered seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues altered participants memories. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is the process of interpretation that occurs at the very formation of memory thus introducing distortion from the beginning. Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without the help of examiners, police officers or lawyers. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our memory can be affected by us

Historian John Garraty notes, The lessons became plain: Liberty must not become an excuse for license; and therefore greater authority must be vested in the central government. Hellish Interpersonal Situations by Peng Su Situations of unpleasant interactions between people are common even in our societies. At least each person has at one time has experienced a terrible or unpleasant interaction with another person. In the play No Exit by Sartre and the poems The Waste Land by Eliot, there are similar unpleasant interactions depicted. No Exit is a play consisting of three characters Inez, Garcin, and Estelle who are in hell damned in one room. The characters had thought hell was a place for punishment but rather found themselves in a room well furnished. However, all the characters refuse to admit to their damnation reasons. The Waste Land on the other hand is a collection of poems that delve in war, disillusionment, death, and trauma themes to show the effects of World War I. Therefore, the focus of this essay is to discuss unpleasant interpersonal situations depicted in the two texts and that are similar. In both texts, the characters were frightened by the interactions with the other people. The term workrate was introduced to me during the earlier stages of my wrestling fandom when I stumbled upon online communities who would throw the word around quite readily. Even with the term still in common usage, I have never seen it given a widely agreed upon and concrete definition. In my view workrate is somewhat distinct from good work , and refers to the athletic and mechanical aspects of a match, in addition to the fluidity of its execution, bumping, and the like. It says very little for the emotional components of a match or wrestler, for facials, and more complex elements of selling. Whilst this does mean that many, if not most good workrate matches are well worked, and many high workrate wrestlers are great workers, the contrapositive does not hold those who do not have the mechanical and athletic prowess of a high workrate performer may very well be just as good as far as quality of match output is concerned. • 28. An Aortic Dissection Introduction The aorta is a three layered structure composed of the inner layer being the intima, middle layer being the media, and the outer layer being the adventitia. An aortic dissection (AD) starts when a tear forms in the intimal layer of the aorta. Due to the high pressure environment within the aorta, blood is forced into the tear causing the intimal layer to separate/dissect from the medial layer of the aorta. This separation will cause a new chamber to form between the intima and the media called a false lumen (FL). Patients with this condition will experience a variety of symptoms that may be similar to that of other conditions. There are several risk factors associated with AD; however, the exact cause is unknown. A chest x ray is usually the first type of imaging ordered when a patient arrives with chest pain or complaints. In the case of an AD, a chest x ray will typically display a widening of the aorta; however, an x ray will not be able to diagnose an AD. If an AD is suspected after the initial x ray, several advanced modalities can be used to diagnose this condition. For a definite diagnosis a transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), CT chest with contrast, or a MRA is needed.1 Upon arriving in a radiology department, the technologist s ability to acquire a good history may be the best tool in order to expedite the process in diagnosing an AD. These clubs could work independently or together to pursue certain social improvements, in a given area. At one point, Coit and others lived in the settlement house to educate themselves about life in these areas, and to better assist in the reforms. To eliminate independence from the equation doesn t seem like a sound idea in my opinion. Yes, for the most part parents are an excellent force of guidance that can steer a child in the correct direction, but limited exposure to the media and the un Godly world we live in won t be as useful when they re old enough to leave the nest. The Role Of Aristocratic Women In The Tudor Period When looking at much of Tudor History especially at the earlier reigns of Henry VII and his successor Henry VIII many historians have neglected to explore the agency of women in this period. More specifically the agency of women in the aristocracy is something that can be heavily debated. Aristocratic women in the Tudor period while often presented as side actors who get acted upon are were actually dynamic individuals who forged their own paths. When looking at these women it is important to analyze it in terms of their religion, family, and social position. Through much of my research I found that these dynamic women had complex motives and reasoning behind most of their actions. It is also important to note that many of these women who did not always have the agency they wanted were being constrained by either their wealth, family, or social position. When analyzing the autonomy of aristocratic women of the Tudor period it is impossible to overlook Anne Boleyn and her rise and fall to power. It is important to analyze how her family the Boleyn s as well as the Howards shaped her life but also the way she shaped theirs. Not only does Vermeer become the focus for Griet s emergent sexuality, he also serves to expand her mind and perspective on life. Teaching her that there is little pure white in clouds , Griet realises that the world is not always as it seems. Similarly, Griet s religious prejudices instilled in her by her family and society are quelled by Vermeer who teaches her that Its not the painting that is catholic or ProtestantВ…but the people who look at it, and what they expect to see . Furthermore, Griet s artistic ability is fostered by Vermeer as he teaches her to grind paints and build up false colours to
  • 41. A Reflection At The Center For Inclusion And Campus... A Reflection at the Center for Inclusion and Campus Involvement: Social Justice Pre Practicum Unlike my mental health pre practicum which was an off campus endeavor at Aspire Health Partners, my social justice, and advocacy prepracticum took place on the campus of Rollins at the Center for Inclusion and Campus Involvement (CICI). Working this semester for CICI was an eye opening experience. For over four months, I was able to abide by CICI s mission statement which consists of the following values; inclusion, courageous leadership, authenticity, and social change. My endeavors were directed towards the LGBTQ community at Rollins, but I was also able to work with incoming students with Title IX and Buzz to help the new students understand how to be safe in campus. My professional and personal values remained congruent with the social justice and social advocacy mission values of CICI, and afforded me the chance to see the ethics of my mental health counseling program in action. Accordingly, my values stand as self determination to encourage social justice and social change on behalf of my clients. It behooves me to highlight how meaningful this value subsists for me since this was one of the central purposes that inspired me to pursue a career in mental health counseling. As a gay man, I realized that the LGBTQ community needs many advocates for their rights and for society s acceptance, especially for the LGBTQ youth of today. Therefore, I recognized that counseling was

A clear definition as well as the recognition of core elements surrounding the decision making process is required to reach a suitable decision. These approaches purpose to be achieved clear concerns before a final decision making. This paper will outline prospect theory and discuss the differences between prospect theory and expected utility theory. Following will be, as explanation of the biases and heuristics of the investment decision making process. Part 1. Prospect theory is an important alternative descriptive theory for decision making under unreliable situation (Kahneman and Tversky 1979), which includes real life selection and psychological analysis between choices that involve risk. Prospect theory, which efforts to explain individual make decisions between risky replacements based on the value of potential gains and losses (Wakker 2010), advanced from expected utility theory, which explains that investors want to maximize expected utility of wealth when unclearly situations (Blavatskyy 2007). According to Kahneman and Tversky (1992), more recent researches perceived nonlinear preferences in choices that do not involve definite events in prospective theory. The concept of framing effect refers description invariances (Kahneman and Tversky 1992). To be specific, individual always makes the same decision in identical choice conditions. Also, decision makers have tendency to
  • 43. Catcher In The Rye And Donnie Darko Analysis Texts cannot exist outside their context; texts implicitly and explicitly embody the values of the society of which they are written. Both The Catcher in the Rye and Donnie Darko depict the societal norms of the period the texts were set in. However, Salinger s novel and Kelly s film both portray the protagonist of their text to be classified an outsider; subverting norms and rebelling against those in power. Catcher in the Rye, a bildungsroman masterpiece is set in the late 1940 s in America, and consequently, focuses on the contextual ideology of the American Dream. Donnie Darkoa sci.fi film made in 2001 however, is set in a period of conservatism in America in the late 1980 s. Despite, differing contexts, both pieces accurately explore the beneficial and dire implications associated with transgressing social conventions. Donnie Darko, the namesake of the film and his anti institutional behaviour provides insight into the perils and prospects of going against society. Despite the film s release in 2001, Kelly placed the film in 1988 to project his message on the family values agenda, a consequence of political oppression with wide spread support for the conservatives. The main advocates behind this notion in the film are seen to be Mrs Farmer and Cunningham, both of whom Darko viewed as forces of tyranny and solely challenges. Donnie may have had a suburban upbringing, however, Donnie will have no part in withholding traditional family values, where he is seen to take

When historian Fred Lieb asked Gehrig about playing in Ruth s shadow, Gehrig s answer was true to form: It s a pretty big shadow. It gives me lots of room to spread myself. He wasn t the only person that did not persevere. His mother, a strong woman who was intent on creating a better life for her son, worked constantly, cleaning houses and cooking meals for wealthy New Yorkers. His mother would never give up on giving her son to have a better life. Lou would also persevere when he was a child. As a boy, Lou was a fan of the Giants, and he attended games at the Polo Grounds whenever he could save up the 25 cents needed for a left field bleacher seat. Years later, he recalled, The Giants had been our favorites, and our quarters had all gone for a seat in the left field bleachers, This showed how Lou Gehrig had never given up to get enough money to be able to watch a baseball

His knees were gory, stained by fresh blood and covered in cuts and scrapes caused from the thick, tall grass that whipped against his pacing legs. His face had swelled up, whacked by branches and leaves that left awfully irritating scratches in their wake. His dark umber eyes widened with fear and he could feel every heartbeat pounding in his chest faster and faster. He stopped to catch his uneasy breath. As he looked back, he could see a man limping closer and closer. A man with a white, rubber mask that covered his face. He was dressed in a worn out cotton tank top and sagging jeans and was creeping forward. The man chuckled as Jaeden nervously scurried backwards. • 48. Comparison Of Romeo And Juliet 1996 And 1996 Romeo and Juliet is one of the most commemorated and referenced plays in the history of the world. Because it is so popular, many variations of the play exist. Since different ideas about the play have produced a multitude of different reenactments, lots of plays out there have many differences. Three of these versions, Two of which are movies made, one in 1968, the other in 1996, and the last is an actual play production on Broadway in 2014, have many differences and similarities. What we can interpret from these variations is that even though the words on the script may not change, with time, culture can alter the appearance and mood of the production. Some of these similarities come between Romeo + Juliet (1996), and Romeo and Juliet (1968). Both of these productions are movies, and such allows the viewer to get a better visual experience of the script by Shakespeare. Two two of these share many qualities, such as the Montagues and Capulets being two of the wealthiest houses in Verona, and a very open conflict between each other. The two of these also share some contrast. In the 1968 film, both houses were Caucasian, however, in the 1996 film, there is an ethnic difference between the Montagues, who are white, and the Capulets, who are Hispanic, except for Juliet and Juliet s direct family. Another difference is that the fight between the houses in the 1996 version was more gang related, violent, and involves the use of firearms, while the 1968 version is a chivalrous conflict, and cheap swords, not guns, are used. What s also the same between these two is that the setting in both of these have hot climates. Rome, Italy, which is where the 1968 version was filmed, typically has warmer temperatures year round. Los Angeles, California, where the 1996 film was set has hot and dry temperatures and weather, especially in the
  • 49. William Of Orange And James II And The Glorious Revolution Background On July 1 1690, William of Orange and James II led their respective armies into battle at the River Boyne. James II was a Catholic king who gained power in England after King Charles II died in 1685. Many of James opponents were Protestant, and they were strongly against the Catholic monarch. James daughter, Mary, was married to William of Orange, and she was Protestant. For many years, Mary was James only child. This meant that if James II died, she would take the throne. This brought great comfort to the Protestant groups in Ireland, as their ruler would no longer be Catholic. However, when James wife had a son, the crown would be passed to him, and England would have another Catholic monarch. This caused panic and outrage from James Protestant opponents, which led them to invite William of Orange to invade England and overthrow James II (BBC: Battle of the Boyne). William accepted, and he and his army invaded England in November of 1688. The invasion was successful, and William and Mary were awarded the throne as joint monarchs. This event was known as the Glorious Revolution . For a year, James II chose not to fight. Many English nobles were taking the side of William. This made James reluctant to attempt to regain the throne (BBC: Battle of the Boyne). Battle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The flintlock musket. Ironically, the flintlock musket was originally designed for King Louis by a Frenchman named Marin le Bourgeoys. As opposed to matchlock, flintlock muskets didn t require a lit match to ignite the gunpowder. Instead, the flintlock created a spark that did this. The shooter no longer had to use a match to fire the weapon. This increased the fire rate and limited the amount of gunpowder used while shooting. This innovation led to the birth of the modern firearm (The Firearms Guide
