1. Essay Mla Format
Writing an essay on the topic "Essay MLA Format" can be both challenging and rewarding. The
Modern Language Association (MLA) format comes with specific guidelines and rules that
writers must adhere to, adding an extra layer of complexity to the task.
Firstly, mastering the intricacies of MLA citation style, including proper in-text citations and a
correctly formatted Works Cited page, requires attention to detail. The slightest oversight in
citing sources can lead to plagiarism concerns and a deduction in grades. Moreover, ensuring that
the entire essay adheres to the prescribed format, from font size and margins to heading styles,
demands a meticulous approach.
Structuring the essay in accordance with MLA guidelines also poses a challenge. Maintaining a
coherent and logical flow while adhering to the prescribed formatting can be daunting. The
introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion must not only present a well-constructed
argument but also follow the specific organizational principles outlined by MLA.
Balancing content and format is another hurdle. While focusing on the substance of the essay,
it's crucial to simultaneously ensure that every detail adheres to the MLA guidelines. This
includes the proper use of italics, quotation marks, and indentation, among other elements.
In essence, crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay MLA Format" demands a careful and
methodical approach. However, the mastery of MLA format is a valuable skill that can enhance
the overall quality of academic writing. With practice, writers can become adept at seamlessly
integrating content and format in a way that meets the high standards set by the MLA.

2. In the Intertidal Zone
In the Intertidal Zone
Ever wonder what fascinating creatures there are in the Intertidal zone? Or what
kinds of adaptations they use? Almost all plants that are algae live in this
incredible zone. Some other names for this amazing zone are the High Tide Zone,
Mid Tide Zone, and Low Tide Zone. The Intertidal Zone is also called the shallow
ocean zone, and has a lot of tide pools. This zone stretches from the surface to 660
feet, and you can find jellyfish, crabs, fish, and sea turtles. Adaptations are a species
ability to change to its surrounding to survive. Even though it is hard living in the
harsh, Intertidal Zone, there are three amazing organisms that survive these
conditions using cool adaptations, and they are the purple sea urchin, the starfish, and
the jellyfish.
Although there are many fascinating animals that can call the Intertidal Zone home,
the starfish, or sea star, is one that really stands out. To begin, National Geographic
reports, most sea stars also have the remarkable ability to consume prey outside
their bodies. Using tiny, suction cupped tube feet, they pry open clams or oysters,
and their sack like cardiac stomach emerges from their mouth and oozes inside the
shell. Swimming in the ocean, the stomach then envelops the prey to digest it, and
finally withdraws back into the body. Because the starfish needs many ways to eat
while in the Intertidal Zone, this is one example of a way that they can find food,
because food is hard to find in the

Essay
If the news of gang rapes can horrify you then how about watching them on CDs
videos of these horrific incidents recorded by the perpetrators themselves?
Unfortunately, this is true . As Al Jazeera came across story of rape videos, as they
are called, being sold in their hundreds in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India, it
decided to examine the subject and set off for a journey to different regions of the
state. What we learnt from our experience and investigation is that it is not an open
market, as publicised by English language news dailies in India. It always runs
under the garb of mobile accessories shops where buyers and sellers are a tiny,
sinister close knit community. Accessing the innermost shell of their discreet
network proved to be an uphill task.
Our first destination was Meerut, a city in the western part of Uttar Pradesh mostly
known for manufacturing sports items and exporting them to different parts of the
world. Al Jazeera made some local contacts here that would help it in exploring shops
dealing in such videos, rape videos as they are called. Nonetheless, the rape videos
couldn t be procured in cities, but our sources informed us that if we travel deep
inside the villages of the district, we could lay our hands on such videos from dealers
of computer accessories.
This aroused our curiosity to explore these shops and the dark trade of dealing in
explicit sex videos, including rapes. And hence we moved towards a village located

5. Evaluation Of A Clinical Evaluation Essay
With the continuous changes in healthcare, evaluation of students clinical knowledge
and skills relies on the need for continuous evaluation. Evaluation is the process of
using data to make judgements about students individual performance. Evaluation of
clinical performance provides data from which educators use to judge the extent to
which students have acquired specific learningoutcomes (Billings Halstead, 2016).
With the use of best practice evaluation methods, clinical performance can be
evaluated to ensure quality patient care. Educators face a challenging task when
providing evaluation that is fair and reasonable. Tasked with evaluating students in
the clinical setting, educators can evaluate how students integrate theory and apply it
to real life situations. Observations of performance in the clinical setting should focus
on the outcomes to be met and competencies to be developed (Oermann Gaberson,
2014). Developing a clinical evaluation tool to determine whether students can think
critically, prioritize problems, and complete patient care procedures correctly is
essential. There are a variety of evaluation methods to use in nursing education.
Depending on the learning outcomes to be measured will determine which tool best
evaluates the students performance. Clinical practice is an essential and highly
significant component of nursing education. Education programs are obligated to
respond to government requests for well educated healthcare professionals.

tell him to shoot more. He shoots out farther from the three point line. His shots
for most people had them feeling like saying what are you doing? Do not take that
shot , but Stephan Curry makes the shots. These long threes open up space on the
court for his other teammates to move and get the pass from Steph. During his rise
in the NBA he had two kids with his wife Ayesha. Stephan Curry still finds lots of
time to be with his family, even though he is in the NBA. Stephan Curry, being

10. Why Is Eugenics Be Allowed
Should Eugenics Be Allowed
The definition of the word Eugenics is to improve human raze by changing the
DNA and breeding of humans, some people think that allowing Eugenics may be
positive and help find a cure and even prevent for people with diseases or syndromes,
but there are more the negative consequences of allowing eugenics than the positive
consequences.
One of the reasons why Eugenics should not be allowed is because of the
immorality that represents to change the DNA of a feto and change certain mental
and physical characteristics specially without the child making a decision in weather

In most states that meant the mentally ill or mentally deficient . Even though the
law specifies mentally ill or mentally deficient, that means that the government
now has the power by law to change people s DNA and it will start as mentally ill
or mentally deficient, but the law could spread the group of people who could be
sterilized like people with cancer or a certain illness or born blinded people or even
homosexuals in very close minded countries. According to Melissa Nicholson in The
Fascinating History of Eugenics, racists and xenophobes used eugenic principles to
further their agendas. With names like the Race Betterment Foundation, activists
encouraged Congress to pass the Immigration Act of 1924 that set limitations on the
number of immigrants from inferior stock such as Southern Europe and Asia. The
president who signed the act into law, Calvin Coolidge, had once said on the issue:
America should be kept American . . . . Biological laws show that Nordics deteriorate
when mixed with other races. That means that by using eugenics to create a perfect
human raze (tall, white, blond, and blue eyed people, smart and superior physically
and morally), the world will be inducing that the ones that are not in that specific
group are less worth than the ones whose genes and DNA has been scientifically
modified. Even though some people in favor in Eugenics claim that by modifying
the DNA, scientists and doctors would be able to prevent all kinds of syndromes and
illness in newborn babies which will mean that there is going to be less people with
mental health issues and illness, but according to Gregory W. Rutecki in Forced

11. Analysis Of Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, there are many symbols throughout the poem.
The hunting scenes are told in great detail throughout the poem. The unknown author
writes these scenes to add meaning to the poem. The scenes depicts the hunting of the
three different prey Lord Bertilak is after. Each scene contains symbolism and
importance and helps to develop and improve the plot. One may wonder why the
author might include the huntingscenes at all. According to critic, Donald Howard,
the hunted animals convey connotations of evil. (85). This viewpoint could be a
due to his religious beliefs. In the poem, the animals are not described as evil. The
fox is described as cunning, Carefully he creeps by the edge of a copse, / convinced
that his cunning has conned those canines (Sir Gawain and the Green Knight1710 11).
The fox is not seen as evil as Howard thinks that it is. Howard believes that the
animals are wicked but the in the poem there is no implication that they are evil in
any way. Each animal has their own skill levels of escaping the hunt, the fox being
the best. In medieval times animals were given human qualities and emotions. The
three animals in the poem are described as having human qualities. First, Henry
Savage states, Certain facts about the animals which formed the quarry of the
medieval huntsman, to be found in the hunting treatises of the time, and certain
popular beliefs about their habits and tempers that were promulgated by the practices

13. Essay on Biography of the Literary Works of Dylan Thomas
Drunk with melody, and what the words were, he cared not. This was a very
common view among early commentators about Dylan Thomas (Cox 1). Thomas
was a poet who was either loved or hated. It depended on the individual, and how
they viewed his poetry. He was very famous for his poetry because it contained
visions of life, aspects of birth and death, fear, grief, joy, and beauty. At a younger
age, Thomas was a very violent poet. As he grew older, he spoke for all men greatly
when he wrote. He wrote his poems referring to the qualities and sensations of life.
The strength of feelings, which were expressed in his writings, gave many different
impressions about Thomas attitudes toward religion and spirituality, relationships,

The poem contained lines of great beauty, but descriptive in horror and suffering
toward the redemption of man, after Crucifixion (Magill 54). This poem
demonstrated the life and death paradox. It made clear that the person in the poem,
resembled Christ who dies, along with humans who will also die. A critic stated that
this poem was absolute poetry, by a pattern of words and images. This certain critic
saw Thomas begin his writing toward the economy more (Knepper 2885). Thomas
was not successful in this poem because it was too packed and fragmentary. He did
not communicate his suffering and hope into the poem (Magill 54).
Over Sir John s Hill is another poem that Dylan wrote, but was enjoyed a lot more.
To make this poem interesting, he used the technique of allegory. Allegory is when
a character acts as more than one thing at a time. He does this by making an actor,
act as a bird, who acts like a mortal man, who also acts as a immortal soul. The actor
was three parts of three different stories, all in one tale. This poem also illustrates the
legal system and religion. The birds and countryside played the role of human
behavior. The Hill represented the Judge who sentenced humans to die. The bird was
sentenced because it played too many tricks on other birds, in reality, other people.
The Hawk acted as the executioner. The Heron in the poem, represented the church
which ignored all the chaos around it (Knepper 2886). Thomas

15. What Are The Challenges Of A Senior Team Leader
Introduction:
The World Health Organization (WHO) is one of the United Nations (UN)
agencies. WHO is working in 150 countries with the mission to provide a healthier
life (WHO 2016). The WHO s working strategy is to work with governments and
other local and international partners to achieve their mutual health related goals
(WHO 2016). To obtain these goals, strong leadership skills and understanding of the
local problems is critical for anyone in a decision making position. Mendenhall et al
(2012) deliberated that leaders who lead teams at an international level must have the
capability to bring change in the organization by not only creating strong linkages
within their teams, but also involve with internal and external stakeholders, including
counterparts, other leaders, the people from the various governments and
organizations they work with. This requires cross cultural understanding and the
ability to work within and across different sectors. For example, not only health, but
also governance and education.
This paper examines the challenges (which may be) experienced by an official who
is recently appointed as a senior team leader in the WHO in Geneva, during the first
thirty days of leaders engagement. A leader needs to focus on four domains 1) creating

I am going to wright about how I would respond if a mass wasting event destroyed

when I purchased my home. With that said, I would be very angry at the city for
not informing me about such a risk. I would also be very angry at myself for not
doing research and for not applying the principles I have learned in this class when it
comes to purchasing a home. This class has taught me the type of areas that are prone
to masswasting. I know that I should not purchase a house in the mouth of a

know that rain, loose soil, and steep slopes increase the likelihood for disaster

How comforting this thought is! Not even death, even from a seemingly pointless
disaster, can separate me from my family. I understand how people who view death
as the ultimate end can view deadly disasters as the ultimate end of their purpose in
life. With that said, the gospel does not take away the pain that comes with the death
of a loved one, but it does make the pain bearable. This week I learned about
various mass wasting events that have impacted cities around the world. These
events have forever changed landscapes, killed thousands, destroyed entire cities,
furthered scientific research, and have impacted the lives of all those caught with in
its path. On a scientific level I have learned where not to build or purchase a house.
However, perhaps the most valuable thing I have learned from this activity is how
the gospel is incorporated within every aspect of our lives, even natural disasters.
Stanley Hauerwas, author of the article Go With God argues that the light of Christ
can be seen within every subject we study. To see this light requires faith and an
intellectual mind. If a disaster impacts our lives will we be able to see the light of

As the camera pans across her head from right to left, we can see in the background
the change of atmosphere as it goes from a dark room to a light room with the

audience challenge their thinking about the lives of students who are living in
impoverished and corrupt environments. This challenges the audience s way of
thinking about people and to not pre judge them, based off what they heard and

that is left behind and is kept a secret. Because sometimes we need to face that it is
simply too much for us to hear and for them to come out and say, as it is difficult to

18. The Themes Of The Six Day War
The Six Day War is a conflict that occurred in 1967, it went on from the 5th of June
to the 10th of the same month. The war involved Israel, a newly established State,
against the United Arab Republic (Egypt and Syria) and Jordan. After the war won by
Israel, the Arab community, especially communities of the countries involved, were
devastated by the defeat. Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasserwho had made
many promises to his people, later gave a speech informing them that they had lost
the war. In his speech ( resignation address ) given the 9th of June 1967, Nasser
announced his resignation from any official post concerning the country and
explained some causalities that led to the defeat of the United Arab Republic. We will
discuss the themes that are omnipresent in this discourse such as conspiracy,
justification, motivation and accusation, as well as other defeats that Nasser faced
which later caused the decline of Arab nationalism.
Since the day he and the Free Officers took the power in Egypt, Nasser was
everything that Egypt and especially the Arab world needed2. He had another
vision of the future for the Arab community and was the first leader who wanted to
introduce modern values into the Arab world, he wanted to unify Arabs and to
establish a United Arab Republic. He was a charismatic leader; he gave hope to his
people by inspiring them and by giving value to the Arab society. He adopted modern
reforms such as giving equal rights to women and allowing them

20. Algonquian Research Paper
What is the right way to spell Algonquian ?
The right way to spell it can be two different ways. One way is Algonquian. The
second way is Algonkian. Those are the two different ways.
How many tribes does the Algonquian? The Algonquian has Abenakis, Blackfeet,
Cheyennes, Crees, Gros Venire, Illini, Kickapoo, Lenni Lenape/Delaware, and the
Lumbees. There are a lot more than that actually, but I chose these.
Where do Algonquians live? The Algonquians live throughout the United States, from
California to Maine, and throughout Southern Canada, from Alberta to Labrador.
Remember some tribes were forced to move after the Europeans arrived.
What is Algonquian culture like and how was it used?
Each Algonquian tribe had different cultures and different traditions. Most
Algonquian s made brichbark or dugout canoes for transportation. Northern
Algonquian tribes used snowshoes and dogsleds to travel in winter. ... Show more

In most tribes, each band lived in a village of a small round buildings called
wigwams. Algonquian tribes of the Great Plains used tepees for shelter instead of
wigwams. Some North eastern Algonquians built long houses like the Iroquois. The
California Algonquians lived in redwood plank houses.
What was Algonquian clothing like?
Traditional clothes, headdress, and hairstyles were different in every tribe, and
Algonquian Indians could tell each other s identify from their style of dresses.
Algonquian men generally wore breech cloths with leather leggings, and Algonquian
women wore skirts or dresses.
What was Algonquian food like?
Algonquians tribes in different climates eat different food. Some of the foods are
corn, squash, and beans. Some hunters chase elk and moose and the women collect
vegetable s and nuts. Some people from the Western Algonquian hunted buffalo and
most Algonquian Indians hunted turkeys, rabbit, and
21. Critique Of Mcdevitt s Book Report
Question Two: A critique of McDevitt s Book
McDevitt s book is a well written and useful publication for learners, people with
interest or managers in the administration of their respective investigative unit.
Fundamentally, there is plenty of useful information in the book.
To begin with, the author highlights how efficacy can be increased amid the
investigative officers and how resources can be used to make investigations better.
These are very important points because they assist a lot of people in a number of
ways. Chiefly, the management of resources is perhaps the single biggest hurdle in
management of investigations. Generally, investigations require a lot of funds to
proceed. On the same note, they involve travelling and a lot of field ... Show more

Certainly, this perspective is important in a situation where the number of
investigative officers is limited. However, this is not entirely true in most situations.
In reality, the number of investigative officers is usually sufficient to handle the
crimes that are reported. Concerning the issues of time, it would be prudent of the
author to only suggest that the arrival time of the investigators should be prompt to
facilitate faster collection of evidence but not that the patrol officers should take it
upon themselves to begin the investigations. The author repeats this point in a
number of sections. Seemingly, the author has a certain bias towards extending
favorable treatment towards the patrol
22. Spirit Triumph Dbq
How Does The Spirit Triumph? Have you ever felt what s like being alone,
harmed, and broken inside your heart? Why do people fight for reasons they don t
understand and causes they don t believe in? Can you bring back all of your
hopes? It s true that hour human body is weak, limited, and fragile, but our spirit is
eternal and strong. In 1939, during World War 2, over 6 million Jews were
persecuted and killed. This massive conflict is known as the Holocaust. So many
innocent people died in vain because a person wanted to make a country a better
place, but not the world. Although 6 million Jews died, some Jews manage to
survive thanks to their undying force of will through laughter, love, and nature.
Love is one thing that helped people s spirits to go on. In the book, Yellow Star, a
girl named Syvia and her family treated each other with kindness throughout the Lodz
Ghetto. Her mother gives her the food instead of eating it herself not only because
there s not enough food, but because she s a living, caring mother (Doc A).... Show

In the book, Yellow Star, Syvia did gets some food from her parents, but when she
confusedly ask if she popped out of her mother s belly button, she actually makes
them laugh (Doc A). Another book called Book Thief shows similar correlation to
the other book, Yellow Star. This time, it shows a girl named Liesel bringing a
similar gift to Max, a Jewish man, who s been hiding from the Nazis in her
basement. She brought buckets of snow which Liesel, Max, and he parents use to
have a snowball fight and then build a snowman. Because of this, they are able to
forget the nightmares of the War and the Holocaust, and they find real joy in this
moment: they could not contain the small snatches of laughter (Doc C). Through
laughter, they are able to forget their pain, and their spirits are able to rise from their
23. Polyvinylchloride
A polymer is a large molecule built up from numerous smaller molecules. These large
molecules may be linear, slightly branched, or highly interconnected. In the latter case
the structure develops into a large three dimensional network. The small molecules
used as the basic building blocks for these large molecules are known as monomers.
For example, the commercially important material polyvinylchloride is made from
the monomer vinyl chloride. The repeat unit in the monomer usually corresponds to
the monomer from which the polymerwas made. There are exceptions to this, though.
Polyvinylchloride is made formally considered to be made up of vinyl alcohol
(CH2CHOH) repeat units but there is, in fact, no such monomer as vinyl alcohol. The
appropriate molecular unit exists in the alternative tautomeric form, ethanal
CH3CHO. To make this polymer, it is necessary first to prepare polyvinyl ethanoate
from the monomer vinyl... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This latter indicator of size is called the degree of polymerization, DP. The relative
molar mass of the polymer is thus the product of the relative molar mass of the repeat
units and the DP. There is no clear cut boundary between polymer chemistryand the
rest of chemistry. As a very rough guide, molecules of relative molar mass of at
least 1000 or a DP of at least 100 are considered to fall into the domain of polymer
chemistry. The vast majority of polymers in commercial use are organic in nature,
that is they are based on covalent compounds of carbon. This is also true of the
silicones which, though based on silicone oxygen backbone, also generally contain
significant proportions of hydrocarbon groups. The other elements involved in
polymer chemistry most commonly include hydrogen, oxygen, chlorine, fluorine,
phosphorous, and sulfur, i.e. those elements which are able to form covalent bonds,
albeit of some polarity, with

I am a MBA student taking different courses to develop a great understanding of the
various aspects that businesses entails. I want to be well versed in a variety of other
areas that will make me confident in my career. ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The contents and assignment in this course has helped me understand the various
theories of leadership and how different leadership styles can have a negative or
positive effect on followers and organizations. The leadership theories helped me
understand the concept of leadership better because it educates me on the different
leadership options that are available. Leadership and followership is not based on
specific characteristics. Leaders must draw from things and approaches to find the
right style. A follower s attitude determines the way a leader leads. According to
Johnson (2011) Being a good follower means ensuring your boss is supported, but
only if he is making optimum decisions .
As a good follower, I need to accept responsibility and I need to be aware of the tasks
that I have to take on. I have to readily support my leader at all times and I should
be able to voice my opinions to my leader in a very supportive way. Leaders can
only lead an organization successfully if they have personalities that appeal to their
followers. The individual reflection and big five
25. Essay about Alfred Wegener and the Continental Drift
Alfred Wegener was a meteorologist and astronomer. He was the first scientist to
introduce the theory of the continental drift. Wegener theorized that at one time the
continents were one large landmass or Pangaea that had drifted apart. His ideas were
initially rejected by other scientists. It was not until long after Wegener s death that
proof was obtained and his theory verified.
The Life of Alfred Wegener Alfred was born in Germany in 1880 and led a very
busy life. He received a PhD in astronomy but quickly moved on to meteorology. He
and his brother experimented with kites and balloons. They set a record flying a
balloon during his first expedition to Greenland in 1906 (PBS, 1998, para. 2). Alfred

Wegener s theory was met with much controversy by other scientists. The fact that he
was primarily a meteorologist and astronomer rather than a geologist further
discounted his theory. Wegener provided numerous explanations and documentation
in support of his continental drift theory. He provided two fossils as evidence.
Glossopteris because it had been found on several continents that were widely
separated. Glossopteris, also known as a seed fern fossil, was too large to be
transported by the wind. The other was Mesosaurus which was a small aquatic
freshwater reptile (Lutgens Tarbuck, 2014, p. 154). Other scientists believed this
was possible because land bridges had once existed or explained it away as drafting.
Wegener most likely did not offer fossil sharks or jellyfish as evidence due to the fact
that these fish inhabit all major oceans on the planet.
He also used an Austrian geologist s theory that the continental crust, sial, was lighter
than sima and the sial layer could move across the ocean floor (Healey, 2006, para.
15). Wegener further stated that the tides could cause the continents to move and
later came to the conclusion that magma could also be responsible for the movement.
Wegener made two more journeys to Greenland to conduct meteorological and
geophysical studies. His final trek in 1930 included the examination of the glacial
sheets to provide further evidence regarding
26. Pokemon Go Thesis
Imagine having a powerful, fantastic creature at your side who will fight for you.
This became a dream for many kids with the card game, tv show and video game in
the world of Pokemon. Now with Pokemon Go, anyone can join that world for free
(Hook). Pokemon Go is an app for smartphones that uses GPS to allow people to go
outside and find their own pokemon. No longer are people sitting on a couch inside
staring at a screen, dreaming of a different world. Now they can go outside, get
some exercise and feel all the excitement and anxiety of a real pokemon trainer.
The popularity of the app was proven by how many people downloaded it
immediately (Discussion). Pokemon Go was an idea that exploded and spread
throughout the nation, appealing to young children and settled adults alike
(Thesis). Pokemon Go built upon platforms of past videogames and GPS, was the
next step in the realm of pokemon media, exapted cell phones and games to be a way
to encourage people outdoors and exercise in a world where everything is leading
indoors, and used liquid networks to reach as high as it could (Essay Map).
Pokemon Go was developed from layers of platforms already formed and used ideas
that a new idea builds upon, especially those that have created the present video game
culture (Topic Sentence). Pokemon had an advantage in this because the original
Pokemon Company was created in Japan, which had managed to nurse a mobile
game culture earlier than competing countries (Supporting Detail 1).

The narrator is a terrible, cruel person who is responsible for Doodle s death. The
narrator knew Doodle was incapable of high exercise activities, and he still
pressured him and pushed him to do better after he already exceeded his abilities.
Doodle is incapable of being as active as the narrator. Everybody thought he was
going to die everybody except Aunt Nicey, who had delivered him. ( pg. 1)
Doodle was born with health condition that make him weaker and incapable of
extreme activity. The narrator continued to push him beyond what he could do.
When he was two, if you laid him on his stomach, he began to move himself,
straining terribly. (pg.2) Doodle couldn t run because if he fell, he wouldn t be
able to get up and he would begin straining terribly, but this didn t stop the narrator

wants him to do more than he can, so he forces him to do everything. He might, as
long as he lived, lie on the rubber sheet in the center of the bed in the front bedroom
where the white marquisette curtains billowed out in the afternoon sea breeze,
rustling like palmetto fronds. (pg.2) Doodle was supposed to either die or be very
inactive because of his problems, but the narrator made him be very active.
Trembling, he d push himself up, turning first red, then a soft purple, and finally
collapse back onto the bed like an old worn out doll. (pg.2) If doodle tried to stand
up he, would turn colors and collapse back onto the bed, the narrator doesn t care
about Doodle s heart condition and kept demanding more from
28. The Simpsons Modern Family Satire Analysis
Situation comedy has used conventions satire and parody is used to reinforce
/challenge ideas and stereotypes through the mocking of societal issues. In this essay
I will discuss about how stereotypes and common ideas are constructed, and how they
are supported or challenged in The Simpsons and Modern Family through the use of
satire, and parody. The first sitcom viewed was The Simpsons(in class viewing),and
is used to explore and support the common idea of consumer capitalism in society
plus the idea of consumer debt through the use of exaggeration and parody. The other
sitcom viewed (home viewing) was the Modern Family episode called Sleeper which
constructs and challenges both parental stereotypes whilst supporting the
stereotypical traits of gay couples through the use of exaggeration and irony.
In the Maple episode of The Simpsons, the main social issues explored are culture,
capitalism and consumer debt. Consumer debt, although only brief, is explored when
Lisa attempts to buy MyPhonies to make herself look cool, however she can t afford
them. Satire in the form of exaggeration is used to explore the idea of making the
earphones much more expensive than what they should have been. This ... Show more

In the Modern Family episode called Sleeper , common stereotypes that are
challenged or supported are homosexual couples, housewives and fatherly figures.
The first stereotype, gay couples, is reinforced in this episode with the use of
exaggeration. The gay couple, Cameron and Mitchell, are constructed in this
episode to be feminine and emotional. Although the pair are seen as stereotypical,
Cam is more feminine in this episode, as he is very flamboyant and overreacts
more compared to Mitch who isn t as hot headed and dresses more like a man.
Through the use of exaggeration, the actions of both Cam and Mitch are overstated
and help to reflect the modern day stereotype of gay

30. Theme Of Nature In Thoreau
discards the language of obedience and redemption used by the church. To
Thoreau, Nature and God are at once synonymous and interconnected: Next to us
the grandest laws are continually being executed. Next to us is not the workman
we have hired, with whom we love so well to talk, but the workman whose work
we are. (175) Thoreau believes in a creator god, a living god that makes of Nature
his home. Thoreau feels Nature is a divine space: a space where man is able to feel
close to his god, a space where man is able to appreciate his god s favors and Nature
is the space where man can embrace the god within himself. Influenced by Emerson,
Coleridge and Wordsworth, among others, Thoreau thinks that nature is the source of
strength, spirituality... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One would approach at first warily through the shrub oaks, running over the snow
crust by fits and starts like a leaf blown by the wind, now a few paces this way,
with wonderful speed and waste of energy, making inconceivable haste with his
trotters, as if it were for a wager, and now as many paces that way, but never getting
on more than half a rod at a time; and then suddenly pausing with a ludicrous
expression and a gratuitous somerset, as if all the eyes in the universe were eyed
on him for all the motions of a squirrel, even in the most solitary recesses of the
forest, imply spectators as much as those of a dancing girl wasting more time in
delay and circumspection than would have sufficed to walk the whole distance I

would be in the top of a young pitch pine, winding up his clock and chiding all
imaginary spectators, soliloquizing and talking to all the universe at the same time
for no reason that I could ever detect, or he himself was aware of, I suspect (357).
Concurrently, Thoreau projects an image of nature as a whole, as a distinct, living
and essential presence rather than as an accumulation of items to which man assigns
significance. The interconnectedness of the various components of nature is
illustrated in this passage of Walden: Standing at the smooth sandy beach at

32. The Ethical Dilemma Associated With Vaccinations
The Ethical Dilemma Associated With Vaccinations Some of the most important
things in life is our health and family. Individuals cherish their family and try to
provide the best life afforded to them. When their family s safety or health is in
jeopardy, the individuals will try to protect and ensure the proper measures are
taken to safeguard their recovery to a healthy state. When this effects the child, the
parents will do anything to ensure these beliefs by any means necessary. This can
be a productive attitude, but also can be destructive to the parent s goal of
maintaining the child s safety and health. In addition, this also evokes ethical
dilemmas in pediatric health care. One dilemma that has been on the rise in the last
decade, is parents refuting vaccinations for their children from reports of a link to
vaccines causing autism. From December 2014 to February 2015 a 110 individuals
acquired measles associated to the Disney LandВ® theme park. During the outbreak,
49% of the victims were unvaccinated and the rest were in different stages in the
MMR vaccinationprocess (i.e., only received one to two doses) (Zipprich, J., Winter,
K., Hacker, J., Xia, D., Watt, J., Harriman, K., 2015).
The parents that are firm believers of ant vaccination are called antivaxers . Because
of their strong beliefs, they have put their children and communities in danger. Some
children due to their health, have to receive immunosuppressant therapy are unable to
receive vaccines, they

in response to Stephan Gosson s article The school of abuse in which Gosson attack

Sidney wrote Since, then, poetry is of all human learnings the most ancient and of
most fatherly antiquity, as from whence other learnings have taken their beginnings,

34. The War Of The Union And Confederate Side During The
Civil...
One of the few newspapers to act like Switzerland received a huge amount of
backlash for doing so. The Republican paper did not succumb to the Union or
confederate side and instead advocated for both sides, since the two editors of the
paper had different views, but the public was not pleased with this decision. The
general public deemed it weakness and a sign of duplicity to publish articles
advocating both sides of the issue and dubbed the paper the swill tub (Sachsman,
2014, p. 53). A Virginia paper tried this tactic as well, to no avail. The attempt,
however, on the part of any opposition paper to be simultaneously a Union journal
and a Southern journal was becoming illogical if not well neigh impossible
(Cappon, 1936, p.14). This explains why the majority took a side during the civil
war, as no newspaper wanted to loose the core of their audience due to not taking
sides. It is important to note that not all of the papers in this era were propagandist.
The Enquirer was able to omit their opinions and write objectively about the war.
Wise and his successors objectively reported the news rather than venting their
dissatisfaction with Confederate s conduct of the war (Davis Robertson, 2009, p.
37). This should have been how all the papers of this era reported the war yet a
backlash amongst the public contributed to a public outcry, which can be detrimental
to a newspapers survival. The U.S. government and Confederates were susceptible to

ACC307 INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT TASK 1: Contemporary Issues of
Accounting Theory Fair Value Measurement Overview After the International
Accounting Standards Board (IASB) released the IFRS 13 Fair Value
Measurement in May 2011 for the purpose of completing its joint project with the
US Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) on fair value, the Australian
Accounting Standard Board (AASB) released the Australian equivalent AASB 13
Fair Value Measurement in the September of the same year. This standard
permitted early adoption but generally started to take effect for the financial
reporting periods beginning from 1 January 2013. This new standard requires no
new requirement for the adoption and but it was accompanied with the issuing of
AASB 2011 8 Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards arising from the
AASB 13 which has made consequential changes to 32 standards and 9
interpretations for the adoption in Australia. The new standard attempts to unify
IFRS and US GAAP by specifying how entities should apply the fair value
measurements that applied in previous IFRS standards. It clarifies and redefines
fair value as the price that would be received to sell an asset or paid to transfer a
liability in an orderly transaction between market participants at the measurement date
, sometimes referred to as an exit price . It also sets out a single source guidance for a

strengthen areas which have significantly contributed to the academic development
of the students in the university, and impose to the students the information sent and
the proper use of this technology.
3. By carefully considering the opinions and suggestions of the targeted students
solicited through the survey, the departments may consider implementing the use of
these technologies on their teaching strategies, learning environment and the
interaction between the teacher and the students.
4. Moreover, this survey and the action undertaken as a result of the assessment and
evaluation of the survey will promote a deeper understanding of the negative and
positive impacts of technology dependency of the students on their academic
development and the relationship of technology and education of college students to
the development of their behavior, social awareness, lifestyle and most especially on
their academic performance which the study focuses to.

39. Cartoon Violence
Cartoons on a television are glue to children. Children will spend hours a day
watching their favorite cartoons, such as SpongeBob SquarePants or Adventure
Time. Unfortunately, the content on these shows, and several others, can harm
children. Directly, cartoons can affect how children think and act; additionally, this
leads to the indirect effect of children physically hurting one another. Children daily
see hundreds of violent acts on television. Most parents notice the obvious acts of
gore and try to avoid those types of shows; however, what parents do not realize is
that cartoons contain just as much, if not more, violenceper episode. When parents see
shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, for example, they seem more comical...

Therefore, the children that do become used to the violence do not realize how much
they are absorbing, and are thus more likely to keep watching and increase the
damage already inflicted onto their minds. Additionally, younger children who watch
violent cartoons tend to believe they can mimic what is on screen. A news story in
China where children attempted to mimic their favorite cartoon with near fatal
consequences reads:
The Li brothers tragedy began one fine April afternoon with a bit of play acting.
When 10 year old Shun Shun ran into eight year old Li Haoran and his little
brother Li Hao, four, just outside of their village of Mawang, near Lianyungang in
Jiangsu province, the three friends decided to play a game. They would act out the
big wolf roasting the lamb an idea the boys later said they got from the popular
children s television series Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf. Taking the role of
wolf, Shun Shun used some scrap cloth he found nearby to tie the two brothers to a
tree. After piling some dried leaves around their feet, he set it alight. Within minutes,
strong gusts of wind blew the fire out of control. The terrified Shun Shun ran away,
leaving the Li boys screaming for help. A passing villager heard their cries and
rushed to help. But by the time flames were put out, the brothers were severely
burned. The boys were rushed to the county hospital and transferred on the same
night to a city hospital, which had better facilities. For a month, it
41. The Indian Land Division Is A Standout

perceived parts. In the nation, it is the second biggest business after horticulture

housing. As per a study by ICRA, the development business positions third among
the 14 noteworthy divisions regarding immediate, roundabout and actuated impacts
in all parts of the economy. It is likewise expected that this segment will bring
about all the more non inhabitant Indian (NRI) interests sooner rather than later, as
an overview by an industry body has uncovered a 35 every penny surge in the

42. The Human Struggle In Yasujiro Ozu s Tokyo Story
Generations don t battle, they mostly clash into each other. We see this in our very
own lives, where parents bring up their past and say, If only you knew how good
you have it! . This will forever be somewhat a problem in the past, present, and
future of our lives. One generation will always be underestimated or beyond correct
then the other. In Yasujiro Ozu s film Tokyo Story we see constant clashing of the
elderly and the youth. Ozu s message of how the generations have changed is a way
of him defining to us what the human struggle is. Due to the character s actions in
the way they treat each other we can pick up on the struggles that they are having
and see the human struggle in the film. At the start of the film, Ozu shows us two
of the main characters of the film; Shukichi and Tomi. We see them packing their
bags to go on a trip. They are going to see their children whom, they haven t seen in
a long while. We can see that Ozu is showing us that becoming old is one struggle
that most humans fear, but of course it must occur in our lives. When the old slow
couple are packing, Shukichi asks Tomi where the inflatable pillow is and Tomi
responds and says that she gave it to him. With aging comes forgetfulness and
stubbornness; and when Tomi says she gave it to him he starts to say no you didn
t, you still have it. Later we see it appear in his bag where he said it wasn t and
nothing is said when he finds it. It is simply brushed away with no argument to
follow. Ozu shows
43. Bill Pierce s Journey From Mexico To Canada
From Mexico to Canada, a bike ride of about 1829 miles, ninety six year old Bill
Pierce has started his journey through the middle of the United States. Bill Pierce
has been contemplating the idea of his travels for about ten years but didn t really
get around to it, but he said, About a year ago I retired, and I sat down and said to
myself either i m going to do this or i m not going to do it, times going to run out
eventually. After finally making up his mind he decided he wanted to take on the
challenge and hasn t looked back since. Pierce has been a bicyclist for more than
forty five years now, and is used to riding a couple thousand miles a year, but before
his triphe hadn t been on a bike for roughly four months. However starting his trip
from Mexicoand riding through Texas and the Rio GrandeRiver, he was mainly
riding on flat tabletop surfaces, helping him ride himself back into shape. Pierce
started his journey on February 5 in Matamoros, Mexico, however didn t start riding
his bike until he hit the border. He spent the night in Mexico, then early the next
morning walked across the border, hop on his bike and has been peddling North ever
since. The ending point of the trip is going to be Winnipeg, Canada.

concerned with the chance of, in the next three weeks, that I might run into a

44. Tutoring Center Benefits
Prince George s Community College has many resources on campus for students.
Many of these resources provides benefits for students not only academically, but
physically as well .One resource that the college provide is a tutoring center, a place
where anyone can go to get help on paper or assignment for free . Besides the
tutoring center the collegealso provides a gym in which studentcan use for physical
activities for example sport like basketball, lifting weights, and much more. But I
for one personally prefer the tutoring center because it is a place where I can go to
get help on assignment that I do not understand. And it is near the library where I
can do work quietly and peacefully. Which is why a campus resource I would like to

In a quiet room I am able to focus more on work instead of the area around me and
lose focus on my assignment. This happens to be a huge issue for me because I
have AHDA where I tend to lose focus quickly. So I figure if I can study in a quiet
place , why not try the library which I did in addition it turn out that if I study in
the library for about 1 2 hours for that amount of time I would be able to get some
work done before I start losing focus again . Another reason why I would like to
utilize the library this semester is because of the computers and quiet study rooms
that the college library provide for students. I would like to use these utilities for
my future assignment that I would be working on. Both places seem to be a good
place where I can get my work done and it would moreover benefit me to stay long
to finish my assignment instead of going home failing to recall that I have typed up
an assignment or simply trying to type up assignment but getting side track by the
internet. This is why I would like to use the library this semester because of what the
library provide and so much
45. Analysis Of The Movie Hot Seat
A former hacker is trapped in his office with his chair wired to explode if he stands
up and in order to survive he must hack his way into a computer mainframe to open a
vault for an unseen assailant.
STORY COMMENTS
HOT SEAT is a well written thriller that fully engages the audience. It s the type of
script in which one feels as if they are watching the film. The plot is similar to the
concepts used in SPEED and in the film PHONE BOOTH.
In this story, the protagonist finds himself trapped in his office and forced to remain
seated in a chair wired by a bomb. If he stands up, the bomb goes off. The hero is
forced to hack his way into a complicated mainframe to open a vault for a mysterious
assailant. To raise the stakes, his family is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He s proactive with trying and failing. There s a nice twist with the reveal of the
perpetrator and a nice climax at the end except for the perpetrator strapping a bomb
vest on an 8 year old. This could be highly disturbing to the audience. Even though
the idea of the other right is skillfully set up, there s a taboo about exploiting
children and seeing an explosive vest on a child could dissuade a producer.
With that said there are other areas worth discussing for possible revisions. However,
even without these possible revisions, the script feels marketable.
The first area worth discussing is the opening scene in central park and the hot dog
cart. It s creative and interesting choice, but highly unrealistic. When first read, one
was not sure of the tone, especially with the description of processed guts and
yumminess. A more realistic scene doesn t involve a hot dog cart, but simply
people strolling in the park, and perhaps some teens or a homeless person find
something like a box and it s a bomb. The idea of the bomber going to the trouble of
getting a hot dog cart is more for dramatic purposes than realistic.
The scene between Jackson and Wally on page 2 isn t the most engaging i.e. their
dialogue. What works is the subtext about Life is chess. You better have a plan A,
B, and C, or game over. On page 28, again, their dialogue doesn t fully engage.
On page 3, a frantic officer tells them that there s an explosion in central park, and
then on page 28,
46. The Benefits Of Intrauterine Insemination ( Iui ), And...
In today s world there are several options for couples who are wanting to begin or add
to the number of members in their families, but have had difficulties in doing so.
Aside from adoption, the possibilities for these couples include: Intrauterine
Insemination (IUI), In vitro Fertilization (IVI), and Surrogate Mother Arrangements.
While these options may result in a pregnancy, they are not without risk and must be
considered prayerfully, as they carry a moral and ethical weight. First, Intrauterine
Insemination, also known as artificial insemination, is a process commonly used for
unexplained infertility in which specially washed sperm is directly inserted into the
uterus (Christianlifesources). Most clinics offer for the woman to remain lying
down for a few minutes after the procedure, although it has not been shown to
improve success. The sperm has been put above the vagina and cervix it will not leak
out when you stand up (Advanced Fertilization). During the IUI procedure, Doctors
place the sperm higher in the cervix than with Intracervical or ICI procedures,
resulting in higher percentages of pregnancy. Doctors utilize IUI in situations where
women experience problems with ovulation, mild cases of endometriosis, and
cervical factor infertility (advanced fertility). Clients also benefit from IUI when male
factor infertility is an issue, however, If the sperm count, motility and morphology
scores are quite low, intrauterine insemination is unlikely to work (Advanced
47. The Bandar-Logs In The Jungle
In the Jungle Book, KaaЕ› hunting, the Bandar Logs are a replica of bullies. The
words they say expresses that they feel like they are better than everybody in the
jungle. Their actions show that they donВґt care. They monkeys also treat other
animals discourteously. The Bandar Logs act like humans that can t control
themselves. They are selfish, conniving animals who try too hard to get noticed but
instead of getting noticed in a good way, they are losing respect. Bandar Logs are
bullies. In the book, the words the Bandar Logs say proves that they think they are
better than everybody else. ВЁ What the Bandar Logs think now the jungle will think
later is one of the many idiotic quotes that these in denial monkeys are saying. I call
them in denial because they cannot, I mean will not, believe that they are the outcasts
of the jungle. They are not special, they are not wanted. They say they are men but
that is just an insult to men. After... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kipling says that the monkeys torture hurt or sick animals when they see them. They
throw nuts at them and tease them. Bullies sometimes hurt people and them laugh at
them when they see that they have caused pain. The monkeys do not cause the pain
but the do not make it any better. Another action the Bandar Logs do is they throw
nuts on animals just anywhere. In the story it says that the monkeys would swing in
the sky and throw nuts on animals just for entertainment. ItЕ› like they do not even
care. My last example is that they even kidnapped Mowgli. They only did that so
people can notice them and because they needed him for there own problems. They
thought Mowgli was the solution but they never thought, or cared, how this
kidnapping could affect other people. The fight at the end of the story was because
of them. They decided that they wanted to go out and kidnapped Mowgli and
because of that some of their people died. Their actions affect other people and they
do not even
48. Tobacco Cessation
Introduction
Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States and
worldwide (Centers for Disease Control, 2013, World Health Organization, 2008).
Tobacco cessation counseling is a vital component of any public health strategy
seeking to decrease mortality, disease and costs associated with smoking. To that end,
the Healthy People 2020 TobaccoUse Objectives cover three main areas: reducing
tobacco use, instituting health system changes, and creating social and
environmental changes (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2013).
Objective TU 10 falls under the category of health system changes as it seeks to open
doors for patients to make quit attempts and to pursue tobacco cessation methods by

Social Determinants of Health
Social factors associated with higher rates of smoking include low SES being
unemployed, homeless, mentally ill, those who are incarcerated, and single parents.
(see Bryant at end). Perhaps the strongest associations are between low SES and
higher rates of tobacco use. Sadly, those with low SES not only are more likely to
smoke, but evidence shows they are less likely to quit successfully.
In the U.S., only 20% of those at or above the poverty level smoke, compared with
30% of those below the poverty level (Hiscock, Bauld, Fidler, and Munafo, 2012).
Teenage girls of families with lower SES are more likely to smoke (Hiscock et al,
2012). In addition, those with low SES are less likely to quit smoking successfully
and may be less likely to intend or attempt to quit (Reid, Hammond, Boudreau, Fong,
and Siahpush, 2010). Reid and coauthors surveyed over16,000 smokers in the US,
UK, Canada and the United Kingdom and found that those with higher education
were more likely to say they intend to quit smoking, attempt to quit and to be
abstinent for between one and six months. Higher income was also associated with
stated intention to quit and abstinence of at least one month (Reid et al, 2010). In
addition, those with low SES
Cessation Counseling for those with Addictions and Mental Health Disorders
Statistics show that those with drug, alcohol and mental (ADM) disorders account
for over 40% of all smokers and only 22% of the U.S. population
49. Marcus Ulpius Trajan Research Paper
Marcus Ulpius Trajanus, better known as Trajan, was a Roman emperor from 98
AD until his death on August 9, 117 AD. He was born on September 18, 53 AD in
Italica Spain, where he lived with his mother, Marcia and his father, also named
Marcus Ulpius Trajanus. Trajan was the first emperor to be born outside of Italy,
in Italica. He was a successful soldier and general; he was very passionate about
war. Nerva the emperor before him adopted him as his son because he had no
children. Nerva died a natural death and after Trajan became emperor. During the
time of Trajan s ruling the Christians in Rome were persecuted. It is difficult to say
if Trajan was positive or negative for the empire. He did good things and also terrible
things. He fixed
