Global Warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth s
atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels
of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. These pollutants are produced by factories,
cars, and even people and animals. Global Warming is a major concern because it
affects all life forms and is changing the earth entirely. As the problem continues to
grow, individuals must do their part to help prevent it. The biggest pollutants in our
atmosphere are Carbon dioxide, Methane, and nitrous oxide. Carbon dioxide is
released into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas and oil
for energy. Electricity production is the biggest cause of carbon emissions in the
United States. Transportation is the second biggest cause of emissions and factory
production is the third biggest cause. Humans and animals also play a small role
in carbon emissions because we exhale carbon dioxide. Transportation mainly
consists of personal automobiles which is why the search for a new way to power
cars is so important. To help prevent carbon emissions many new cars use electric to
help produce less carbon emissions and reduce the burning of fossil fuels. These cars
are charged at home, but still require electricity made from power plants which are
burning fossil fuels and producing carbon emissions.

Reflection On Professionalism
It s important to note that I thought I had a clear grasp on professionalism before I
ventured out into this work environment, however, everything I thought I
understood about the workplace was thrown for a loop. The first lesson I learned
was that professionalism does not always garner a suit and tie. I assumed people
were supposed to look their best at work and dress in a manner that was not
necessarily who they were outside of work. Interestingly enough, the dress code
was definitely not suit and tie. The way to fit in was to dress like you did not try
very hard, preferably in a band t shirt and jeans. Also, I have been trained in every
job I have been in to be 15 minutes early. At Shiny Penny Productions, my
punctuality was almost a fault. My boss found it strange that I was always arriving
before her, and I was usually there before everyone else if I am perfectly honest.
There were many moments where the important employees would not show up on
time due to hangovers and various other reasons. In a nutshell, I do not wantto follow
any of their examples for my future, but it was an interesting break from the usual
and probably normal workplace standards. I would never take an ethics course from
my internship boss as she proclaimed often about the amount of drugs she took or
wanted to take. The good side of this was it opened my eyes to the true behind the

People Were Disappearing From The City
People were disappearing from the city. It was a big city some of it had tall new
buildings that only a fraction of its citizens had been in. Crisp blue skies and
brand new cars, people dressed in nice suits and dresses lined the streets. Going
from the nice big buildings on the left side of the city to the right the buildings got
progressively smaller as the miles past and by the time you reached 15 miles and
you have reached the outskirts of town there was a river. It seems pleasant on paper
though along that river was inhabited by hundreds of families in close quarters,
shacks constructed from cardboard, wood scraps, branches, tar paper, glass and old

this now and had the opportunity to observe and research many works of art proves
their mission to be successful. Walking into the museum, I noticed that it already
appeared to be much bigger on the inside than it did on the outside. The first two
floors were lit mostly by natural light and provided museum visitors access to tickets,
information about the museum, the gift shop, and some food. The remaining floors
were dimmer and mostly just the art pieces were given light to eliminate distraction.

Aldous Huxley s Brave New World incorporates the political ploy of brainwashing
and uses it to promote the common belief. While the term brainwashing was coined
during the Cold War era, it still carries heavy implications and often suggests harsh

ideology and replacing it with a more suitable collection of thoughts. Through
techniques of mass education, thought control, and depravation of critical judgment,

Although this study did not give out great data it did help pave the way for other
experiments. This experiment helped Janicak and his team design a study using
the durability of TMS. Philip Janicak and his team tested the durability of TMS on
patients with major depression. They found that the majority of patients benefited
from active TMS over a 24 week period. Only 10% of that group relapsed. Whereas
13.6% relapsed for the sham group (Janicak, Nahas, Lisanby, Solvason, Sampson
amp; McDonald, 2010). Janicak concluded that the effects of TMS were durable.
He also concluded that TMS may be successfully used as a strategy to deter further
relapse. One major imitation to this study was the lack of controlled comparison. It
is hard to determine if a study supported if there is not enough to base the results on.
Later studies focused more on where in the brain depression effected. Researchers
wanted to see the effect TMS has on patients with depression. These studies tested
the durability and the overall effects of TMS on specific lobes of the brain. One
study that wanted to test the effect of TMS was done by Yechiel Levkovits and his
team. They wanted to focus the effect of TMS on the prefrontal cortex in patients
with depression and apathy. Levkovits found that TMS over the prefrontal cortex
improved both apathy and depression but this did not lead to remission (Levkovitz,

The renaissance was a period of rapid change in many European countries. The
constant struggle between Catholicism and Protestantism alone created a country
torn between both political and spiritual ideologies. As different kings and queens
came into power, many were forced to change ideologies simply based on the beliefs
of these monarchs. During this time, literature was used as a way to protest these
ideologies. The works of Edmund Spenser, author of The Faerie Queene, Sir Thomas
More, author of Utopia, the records of Anne Askew s burning, From the First
Examination of Anne Askew and John Foxe s Acts and Monuments, provide insight
into the political climate of spiritual reform in the renaissance era. These authors
critiqued life during the renaissance and used their writings to protest the old ways,
encouraging England to abandon its Catholic roots in favor of Protestantism. Sir
Thomas More s radical ideas portrayed in Utopia help lay the foundation for the
religious reformation in England. In order to bring about this reform, More creates a
fictional utopia where he addresses the problems he has with England s current state
of being. In the analysis of More s fictional character Raphael Hythloday s, his trip to
Utopia draws a parallel with reforming England, including transitioning England from

company in the whole world. I will explore and attempt to identify culture aspects of
Lincoln Electric from several issues such as; the continuing influence of founders of
the company, the golden rule, the incentive managementplan,the performance
appraisal system, how people communicate in the organization, the merit pay plan,
the bonus plan, and the management style.
Normally Founders instill the culture they want right from the beginning of their
organizations. That is exactly what John C Lincoln did when he established his
company Lincoln Electric in 1895. He stablished a culture of innovation and even left
administrative burdens of the company to a brother, James Lincoln, so he could focus
on innovation. This streak has continued to date where Lincoln is not afraid to
experiment with new ideas .e.g. the cost saving feature of welding electrodes for
