The Best Day Of My Life Essay
Crafting an essay about "The Best Day of My Life" may seem like a straightforward task at first
glance, as one might assume that narrating a positive experience would be inherently easy.
However, the challenge lies in the intricacies of articulating emotions, memories, and personal
reflections effectively. The task demands not only vivid storytelling but also a deep exploration
of the significance and impact of the chosen day.
The difficulty arises from the need to strike a balance between providing sufficient detail to
engage the reader and avoiding excessive information that may dilute the essay's focus.
Deciding which moments to highlight and how to convey their importance can be a daunting
task, especially when attempting to capture the essence of a day that holds personal significance.
Moreover, the challenge extends beyond mere storytelling to the expression of emotions.
Conveying the feelings experienced during that special day requires a nuanced approach to
language. The risk of falling into clichГ©s and generic expressions looms large, making it
essential to find a unique voice that authentically communicates the joy, excitement, or profound
moments associated with the best day.
Additionally, the essay must be structured coherently, with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Transitioning between different aspects of the day while maintaining a smooth narrative flow
adds another layer of complexity. The writer must carefully select words, phrases, and transitions
to ensure that the reader remains engaged and follows the chronological or thematic progression
seamlessly.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "The Best Day of My Life" requires a delicate balance of
storytelling, emotional expression, and structural finesse. It demands introspection, creativity,
and a keen sense of narrative pacing to successfully convey the essence of a significant and
cherished experience.

How Does Priestley Present Eva
How does Priestley present Sheila s developing awareness of her part in Eva s
death? J.B. Priestley brings Sheila in mid way of act 1 as she is unaware to the
situation, after asking what is happening Sheila gasps at the shock of Eva s suicide
showing how unexpected her death was and how unaware she was of the situation.
The quote Oh how horrible! shows how distraught Sheila was and the fact that
Sheila did not even know of the death shows at this point she had no idea that she
had a part in Eva s death let alone any of her family. Although her father thought that
the Inspector when explaining the situation to Sheila implied that his dismissal of
Eva from his workplace was the start to why Eva had committed suicide and to that

Priestley presents Sheila s awareness to Eva Smith s death by using the technique
of repetition, as though the Inspector was trying to make Sheila remember Eva as
the woman she had fired from Milwards. Priestley uses the repetition of pretty very
pretty also as irony as that is the reason Eva had been fired, although the manager
had not known Eva was fired over jealousy, Sheila had threated the manager that if
they did not rid the place of the girl her and her mother would never return to the
shop again. The repetition of pretty very pretty shows Sheila s self consciousness
and jealousy towards Eva s beauty and shows the audience Sheila s true character at
the start of the play which was a lady who abused her high status as a wealthy
customer when she insisted for the manager to dismiss Eva .The dash in between
pretty very pretty shows a pause and this as well as the repition of pretty seems as
though the Inspector is trying to emphasise on Eva and her beauty to help Sheila
develop awareness of her part in Eva s death as well as show how insignificant a
thing Sheila had gotten upset over and what large consequences it had. The
Inspector makes Sheila subtly aware of Eva Smith s physical appearance which
could have nudged Sheila to the truth that she had a part in Eva s death and as well
as her father who had fired Eva at her first job Sheila was at fault as
Fedex s Internal and External Environments Essay
FedEx s External and Internal Environments FedEx s external environment both
positively and negatively affects the organizations operations. Their external
environment consists of government, weather, and the economy. FedEx does not
have a very large external environment because their operations are not affect by
many outside sources. The government affects FedEx s operations by providing
security regulations. A regulation that affects them is increased security regulations
that were just recently enforced by the federal government. These regulations protect
FedEx from any external threats that can be within the goods they deliver. This
protection can also negatively affect FedEx s operation by adding additional time to

The internal environment of FedEx consists of customers, distribution and
competitors. This environment determines what FedEx does to succeed in their
market. FedEx has two major customers who consist of businesses and individual
customers. These business customers have accounts with FedEx to arrive at their
location to pick up packages daily or weekly. Two thirds of FedEx s business comes
from these customers so FedEx curves their operations to satisfy this clientele. Since
FedEx s competition is trying to acquire some of this clientele they have begun to
operate and market to this clientele more effectively. Individual customers are also in
FedEx s internal environment. These customers represent one third of their business.
With increased competition from competitors FedEx has marketed to this market
substantially. They have created boxes that are prepaid for shipment as long as the
contents fit into the box. This has effectively increased business amongst individual
customers for FedEx. FedEx s internal environment also consists of their distribution
and delivery of packages. This environment contains FedEx s trucks and planes that it
uses to transport their packages for their customers. If their trucks or planes break
down FedEx needs to find an alternative or get these vehicle s fixed immediately.
Appropriate maintenance and regulatory inspections are done to these vehicle to keep
them up and running for FedEx. FedEx s internal environment

Abraham Lincoln And Pop Culture
In today s society Abraham Lincoln is still a popular figure in our culture. He was
a common man that came from nothing but had big dreams for himself. Since
Lincoln s death in 1865, we still see him in pop culture today. We find him on the
flipped side of a penny, on Mt. Rushmore, and anything from movies to action
figures. The most known about piece of pop culture Lincoln is depicted in is the
movie Lincoln. The movie shows Lincoln in the times of the Civil War. Lincoln
shows the Congressional Debates all the way to the fighting done on the battlefields.
Also, being showed was hard fighting that had to be done to win the fight against
slavery. The war came down to the nitty gritty to win so that no black person would
be owned. The ending showed President Lincoln s death. This was heartfelt and

This movie just didn t focus on Lincoln but the hard work and dedication it took to
abolish slavery as a whole. It also showed Lincolns hardships with his wife and
sons. The aging of Lincoln and Grant telling Lincoln that he looked like he had
aged 10 years since the previous year showed the toll the war had on Lincoln. A lot
of hard work goes into being the President of the United States and it wasn t a walk in
the park to completely abolish slavery. This movie had great meaning and was well
thought out.
Throughout this movie there was many different Lincoln s portrayed. The first
Lincoln I thought that was portrayed is Lincoln the Man of the People. Lincoln just
wasn t worried about the blacks he was worried about this nation as a whole and it
not being divided. Throughout the movie he was shown as wanting what was best
for his American people. He wanted the violence to stop and no longer wanted to see
lives taken because of this awful
Essay about History of D-Day
History of D Day
During the 1930 s, isolationism and the depression swept through the
United States. But before the fall of France in 1940, the United States was
starting to pull away from being neutral, which they claimed at the beginning of
the European war.
Americans and the British would hold conversations between themselves
known as the ABC talks. It was there that they both targeted Germany as their
prime enemy. Even though there was tension in the Pacific in 1941, American
leaders had agreed that any war that was going to occur between Japan and the
United States had to be secondary. Our prime target was Germany, and that s
what we would focus on defeating.
Roosevelt soon concluded that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the defeat of Germany was the objective, then the
mission was to attack at the heart of German power as early and as forcefully as
possible.
With this, careful consideration of Army mobilization and training, military
construction, naval and merchant shipbuilding revealed that the Army could
expect to go over to the offensive no earlier than July 1, 1943. Achieving the
necessary military conditions for attack, though simple to state, was more an
uncertain proposition. Wedemeyer suggested in his plan that no invasion of
Europe could succeed until the navies defeated the Axis fleets and secured the
Atlantic lines of communication.
The Allies however, had managed to take control of the air. They would
bomb Germany on a regular basis, this way Germany could keep down on their
production of war materials, and disrupt their economy.
Before the U.S had officially entered the war, plans existed for the defeat
of Germany. The plan heavily relied on an invasion of the continent of Europe,
in order to strike the heart of Germany. The U.S. sought to weaken their military
buildup, and heighten ours in Britain.
For a period of time, there was much contemplation of attacking Germany
from the Mediterranean, where the British had already been succeeding in
defeating the Germans. Americans had to reject the idea of the Mediterranean
approach due to the fact it was impossible to concentrate full Allied
Anomic And Egoistic Suicide
the degree of an individual s integration or relationship with his or her society. These
four types of suicides are egoistic, altruistic, anomic and fatalistic suicides (Durkheim,
1897). Egoistic Suicide
By Durkheim s principle of integration, egoistic suicide is caused by deficient
integration with the society, that is to say, that people who commit suicidedo so
because they lack proper connection with their immediate society and also with the
members of the society. Owing to this low or sometimes absolute lack of
integration, such persons feel marginalized, or that they are not accepted in the
society may be because they are seen as outcasts, refugees, or as strangers; it could
also be a feeling that their presence is neither appreciated nor their needs supported
by the society. This feeling according to Durkheim gives way to individualism,
isolation and ultimately the individual becomes a prey to suicide (Durkheim, 1897).
Supporting the view of Durkheim, Elizabeth Wilkins also considers egoistic suicide
as a consequence of abnormal degree of individualism. This total withdrawal to
oneself and its attendant lack of social network makes the individual to easily
succumb to any slightest discomfort or shock or awful circumstances thus, exposing
the individual to suicidal behavior or any form of self destructive acts (Wilkins, 1979).

In the words of Durkheim, It is a well known fact that economic crises have an
aggravating effect on the suicidal tendency. This type of suicide occurs often during
economic instability or disturbances, it could be economic boom or disaster, at this
time also the society is unable to regulate the social and moral behaviours of the
individuals, as a result, the individuals become frustrated as their dreams and
aspirations can no longer be achieved (Durkheim,
Analysis Of The Children Of Men
One would present a rather facile and straightforward argument in saying that P.D.
James The Children of Men encompasses the very essence of dystopia and portrays it
in way that evokes a sense of pathos within her audience. However, one might find it
difficult to claim that the notion of romantic love, or eros, exists at a level greater
than that of the general sense of complacency and desolation that runs rampant
throughout humanity in James world. That being said, it becomes even more
difficult to say, however, that there is no attraction, that there is only a platonic
relationship between James protagonist, Theo Faron, and the lieutenant of the Five
Fishes, Julian. By that reasoning, it can then be argued that there is a place for... Show

After having the citizenry wander around for a bit, have Julian appear on the stage
lit in a warm, sun like light, in stark contrast with the harsh, fluorescent lighting used
to show the market and the other unrelated people. That would then be the cue for
Theo to enter the scene on either side of the stage where he would deliver a
soliloquy, or monologue of sorts to the audience that would basically reenact the first
time in the plotline where he relays his strong romantic feelings for Julian. Theo s
position in relation to Julian would have to be one that is not quite distanced, but not
too close either.
In order to understand the theatrical decisions in regard to actor placement and setting
in the aforementioned scene depicting Theo proclaiming his love for Julian, one must
first understand eros, it s position within The Children of Men, and how it relates
to Theo. According to C.S. Lewis, the concept of eros does not echo it s traditional
Greek interpretation of sexual love, but rather explains the state in which man
develops a delighted preoccupation with the Beloved a general, unspecified pre
occupation with her in her totality. A man in this state really hasn t leisure to think
of sex. He is too busy thinking of a person. (Lewis, 93) Though this interpretation by
Lewis of eros may not fit the textbook definition and may seem somewhat trivial and
juvenile in it s essence, it holds merit in

Bill Clinton Analysis
Moreover, the Senate conducted a trial that took things a step further: they wanted to
determine whether or not Clinton should be removed from office this was only the
second trial of this nature in the nation s history. Being in the minority at the time,
Senate Democrats were not in a favorable position to keep their party s president in
power. However, they were able to garner support from ten Republicans on the
acquittal for perjury and from five Republicans on the acquittal for obstruction. As a
result, Bill Clintonwas thereby acquitted of all charges and remained in office.
Clinton did not, however, make out unscathed. Judge Susan Webber Wright fined
him $90,000 for being in civil contempt of court. Additionally, Clinton s license to
practice law in the state of Arkansas was suspended for five years. And, lastly, he
was disallowed from presenting cases in front of the Supreme Court.
Clinton had worked to build a legacy of integrity and high moral character during his
career in the public life, but the Monica Lewinski scandal has led him to be ranked in

Cohabitation Before Marriage Essay
INTRODUCTION Love, flowers, food, music, stress, and happiness all combined

wedding day with the perfect dress or tux and a decadent cake, most aren t ready to
commit to what comes after. Some call it living in sin, others call it living in bliss,
but these days it s almost expected that a couple will live together without marriage.
Cohabitation, once rare, is now the norm. Filipino family life has changed drastically

In Britain, an estimated 80% of couples live together before getting married.
Australia is just behind at 77%. The reason given by many couples who cohabit is
that they believe they will increase the chances of success when they eventually
marry. However, research has shown that this idea is a fallacy. And it flies against
God s intention that men and women be sexually joined together only in marriage.
Here s what some of the research reveals: Although most theories of marital choice
predict that cohabitation would increase the stability of later marriage for those
couples who marry, evidence to date suggests the opposite; couples who cohabit
before marriage seem to end their marriages at significantly higher rates than couples
who never lived together before the wedding (Demography, August 1995, p.438).
Some studies put the divorce rate at 50% higher for couples who cohabit; others put
it as high as 80%. In America roughly 40% of cohabiting couples break up before
marriage. Many couples apparently move in together intending to marry later. One
study revealed that 70% of women moved in with a man with marriage on their minds
(Adams,S. amp; Young,B., The 10 Commandments of Dating, 1999, p.110). Many
people who choose to live together before marriage show that they are reluctant to
commit to a relationship and want to keep their options open. Apparently they value
their autonomy and individuality. However, these

When Arnold approached each town, people would sing along to his blaring rock

had already felt that Governor Gray Davis performed badly and was not able to
alleviate the situation much more. As mentioned before, people had lost faith in
politicians, and they want a whole different kind of governor. They prefer to hear
the impossible rather than unkept promises. Arnold was able to use this to his
advantage. Along with his amazing speeches through his campaign, he used more
than $10 million of his personal wealth and a relentless throw the bums out battle
cry to attract legions of disgruntled voters yearning for a postcard California where
car taxes never triple and economic good times are as reliable as the sunshine

Republican said they believe he can erase multibillion dollar deficits without raising
taxes, a feat that even some of his top economic advisors have questioned (Sanchez).
Arnold must have been confident that he will be able to keep his promises in
doing the impossible (Brown). If you look at what he had proposed, it is nearly
unachievable for him to accomplish his tasks without raising taxes. Wasn t he
somewhat afraid of the things he said? He looked serene and confident as he cast his

Meursault should be allowed to live because he acted out of self defense. Although
he was not in immediate danger when he shot it was clear that there was not any
chance that the Arab man brought out the knife just to have a friendly chat with

risk the man either throwing the knife and mortally wounding Meursault or possibly
just being able to get close enough to stab Meursault. The moment that the two of

Female Sexuality Throughout Shakespeare s Hamlet
Hamlet, a tragic play written by Shakespeare in the 1600s, portrays the struggle of
young Hamlet in the face of avenging his father s death. While major themes
throughout this tragedy include death, loss, madness, revenge, and morality, another
important theme to include in discussion is the theme of womanhood. The only two
female characters in a cast of thirty five include Queen Gertrudeand Ophelia, both of
whom die unfortunate deaths. The importance of womanhood and female sexuality is
shown through several literary techniques; though, most importantly, the characters
Queen Gertrude and Ophelia are both symbols for female sexuality. Both characters
are developed as negative and positive sides to womanhood through dialogue as other
characters approach them, their own actions, and most importantly, their individual
deaths. Queen Gertrude is the mother to Hamlet, widow to the late King, and new
wife to King Claudius as shown within the first act of Hamlet. Following her
marriage to King Claudius, her relationship with her son Hamlet becomes strained.
Queen Gertrude symbolizes much of what is considered to be a negative aspect of
womanhood. To Hamlet, Queen Gertrude is a failure of a woman. Through his
dialogue, it is presented that Hamlet desires a woman and mother to be concerned
for her family and place tradition above all else. When Hamlet s mother makes a
decision outside of that realm and marries King Claudius, Hamlet strives to berate her
for her choices. Through

the culture itself. Known as Vodou in Haiti, which later evolved into the practice
known as Voodoo in the United States, along with Conjuring, also known as the

practice of black magic persistently played a role in African culture constantly
following the dispersal of Africans worldwide throughout the past centuries.

Essay on Influenza
Influenza Essay
Influenza is a disease also known as the flu which is most common in the U.S.
Influenza is caused by a contagious virus that is spread by fluids of coughing,
sneezing and direct eye contact from surfaces where serious infection and death occur
around the world mostly in winter. Someone who gets the disease, inhale the virus or
touch the germs from objects including computer keyboards and telephones and then
touching their mouths and nose. Influenza viruses spread from person to person and
people are able to pass the flu to others even before they are sick themselves.
Viruses are the cause of influenza. The names of these viruses are influenza virus A,
B and C. These virus put together are called Orthomyxoviridae. Influenza A and B
cause major disease whilst influenza C causes a common cold illness. A virus is
found in different animals such as ducks, chickens, pigs and horses. This virus is
the worst of the three and is spread by people who are already infected. Surfaces
that have been touched by an infected person, rooms they have previously been in
and where someone who is affected by this disease sneezes are causes of this virus.
B virus are found among humans ... Groups A and B are responsible for causing the
epidemics of flu that occur almost every year. Influenza C is different in several
ways because it causes mild to no symptoms and doesn t cause the yearly epidemics.
Symptoms develop one to three days after the virus infection and usually the worst

have to regulate the states, allow states to nullify federal laws, and weaken the

Following his work, Pietro was succeeded by his son Michele Ferrero as chief

The Ferrero Family was the first Italian manufacturer after World War II to open
production sites and offices abroad in the confectionary sector, turning the Company
into a truly international Group. These first and decisive steps forward were thanks
to the products invented by Pietro Ferrero and his son Michele, who was then very
young. Another key to success was the effective sales network organized by
Giovanni, Pietro s brother, who died in 1949.
Following the success of the company in Italy, Michele Ferrero decided to start
producing also abroad. In 1956 a large plant in Germany was inaugurated and a short
time later a plant in France. It was the prelude to a rapid expansion of Ferrero in
Europe, with the establishment of commercial offices and production centers in
Belgium, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, United Kingdom, Ireland
and Spain. In the following decades Ferrero becomes global, with companies and
plants in North and South America, South East Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa,

In essence, we learned many important lessons. First, when the business is new and
its future is uncertain it should not invest in large capital. Next, the business should
outsource only when it is appropriate considering the risks and benefits. And most
importantly, we learned that in a small business situation, the company should focus
on its core competency in bringing value to the business and the customers. II.
Strategy Identification The challenges faced by Nucleon, Inc. present more of an
issue with how to take full advantage of an opportunity in front of them, rather than a
problem that poses a threat to the company. As a company in its early stages, only
putting out its first product, it is critical that it is done in a manner that allows the
budding firm to grow. The main issue here is determining the most effective means
by which they are to manufacture and market their first product, CRP 1. Doing so
requires in depth evaluation of three strategic options, all with their own benefits and
potential risks. The problem statement, therefore, is as follows: Problem Statement:
Nucleon, Inc. needs to determine the best course of action for the manufacturing and
sale of its first product, CRP 1, in order to grow the budding company and gain
sustained competitive advantage against large rivals. [vi] III. Strategy Evaluation

Organizational Changes After Ww1 Essay
WW1 ended with catastrophic destructions and millions of casualties in the old
continent; therefore, many countries and nations were desperate such a great war
not to happen again, but they were preparing for the next war all the time during the
interwar period. The interwar period between WW1 and WW2 is a period of
transformation of the armed forces towards twentieth and twenty first century
warfare. Countries were rapidly improving the already existing technologies that was
developed during WW1 and prior, and they introduced to the world many new
technologies that will play major part in vining the battles in the upcoming war.

The post WW1 militaries had to make immediate changes in their postwar
organization in order to increase their effectiveness and readiness. For example, the
German army developed mechanized and amour units called Panzer divisions, which
during the WW2 crushed their opponent armies. In addition, they focused on
redesigning the officer core in order to be more innovative and have critical thinking
skills. After invading Poland, the Germans made AAR, and made immediate
organizational changes and created the Squads as a more effective unit. The Soviet
Union made quality AAR from the WW1 and other so called Small Wars before the
Great War and used the gathered experience to make peacetime innovation into their
military organization in which they developed motorized and mechanized units.
Furthermore, militaries were focused on aviation and as an example is the
development of air force as an independent and their use in combined armed
concepts, which was initiated by Giulio Douhet, an artillery officer who realized the
importance of Air power. Giulio added the airpower component as an asymmetric
piece that will change the war and forced the idea that to have command of the air it
means that it will achieve victory. The US developed and organized amphibious units
to conduct Plan Orange which was developed during the interwar period, and during
the Banana Wars, in which they practiced their technology, TTPs and Doctrine and
used lessons learned to improve in peacetime
Blanche Dubois Delusions Essay
Dealing with the harsh truths of life can be tough for anyone to cope with which is
why people tell themselves lies. These lies are called life lies a falsehood people
tell themselves to rationalize the lifestyle they are living or actions they have
committed. Tennessee Williams and Henrik Ibsen investigate how life lies can turn
into delusions a state of mind or way of life, when they are used to cope with the
stressors of everyday life. Williams protagonist, Blanche DuBois, was a former
southern belle forced to move in with her sister, Stella, after her husband s suicide
and being evicted from Belle Reve, her family home. To cope with these traumatic
events, Blanche decided to recreate her character. To do so, she lied to the people...

She [couldn t] stand a naked lightbulb in Stella s house because of the fear it would
expose her too blatantly to the very people from whom she tried to hide (Williams
60). Williams used the word naked , instead of another synonym, to describe the
vulnerable and delicate position Blanche would be in if her lies are disclosed. She
believed that if she hid herself physically, her dark, internal self would thus be
hidden. No one especially Stella, Stanley, and Mitch, the people closest to her
would be able to see through the barrier of lies she created to cope with the death
of her husband and her past which devastated her. She was forced to face her
biggest fear when he (Mitch) [turned] on the light and [stared] at her. She [cried]

soon as Mitch turned on the light, Blanche knew every part of her being, including
her appearance and character, were utterly exposed to a man whom she desired to
appear to as wholesome. It was as if she was in pain when the light hit her which
was symbolic of how painful it would be if she came to terms with the truth. Blanche,
then, [covered] her face to keep herself from total indecency in front of Mitch and
keep the most vulnerable, valuable part of herself hidden and, therefore, wholesome.
Williams used short, blunt sentences to make a statement and emphasize her fear. At

Rite of Passage Ceremony
RITE OF PASSAGE
It is three days before my initiation ceremony. The day Mama says I become a
woman. She is really happy about it and I m supposed to be, but I m not. I have tried
to delay this day for as long as possible, but this year Papa put his foot down. I am
already 17 years old and most girls go through the ceremony at 14. All the girls in my
age group have to go through this rite in order to make them eligible for marriage.
No woman in the village can get married without undergoing the rite of passage. It
is part of our tradition and the elders believe it ensures women do not stray from
their marital homes. They also believe you are unclean without it. People were
already starting to whisper about me as I was the last girl in my age group who not
gone through it and my friends tease and look down on me that I am not yet a woman.
My younger brother, Dide cannot be initiated into the Warrior class because he has
an older sister who is uncircumcised. This is the real reason Papa has refused to
listen to me any longer. Dide has come of age and he doesn t want me to delay his
initiation. After my initiation ceremony, I would be getting married. Papa has
already someone picked out. I ve seen him a couple of times, my friends think I m
lucky to be getting married into his family. I don t think anything. Going through the
initiation ceremony and getting married would be the end of schooling for me. I
know what is expected of me as a female but I don t like it. When I told

Taylor Swift White s Only Feminist Analysis

feminism and the lack of inclusivity within many brands of feminism. Taylor Swift

Persians incorporated their value of bravery into their method of exerting political

Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood Essay
Margaret Sanger s Planned Parenthood
During a time in which white supremacy was being challenged by an ever increasing
African population, a woman named Margaret Sanger sought to purify America s
breeding stock and purge America s bad stains (Planned Parenthood). She set out to
establish the American Birth Control League, which eventually became the Planned
Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). Sanger s actions provoked much
controversy because at the time not only was contraception illegal in the United

Because of the Comstock Law of 1873, the mailing of information regarding
contraception or devices to perform contraceptive techniques was prohibited. This
was a major obstacle for Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood. As a result of the
1936 court case U.S. v. One Package, the mailing of contraceptive related materials
among physicians was legalized (Planned Parenthood). This turning point signified
that contraceptives were finally beginning to be regarded as an important area of
medicine. The mailing of contraceptive material to married couples and single adults
was not legalized until 1965 and 1972 respectively (Contraception History). The
government continued to liberalize its other policies regarding contraception as a
result of Sanger s influence.
Margaret Sanger s hard work to legalize and promote contraception was rooted in her
belief that those who were impoverished should not procreate. In her book My Fight
for Birth Control, Sanger claims, I associate poverty, toil, unemployment,
drunkenness, cruelty, quarreling, fighting, debts, and jails with large families

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder ( Adhd ) Essay
Attention deficit hyperactive disorder is a neuro behavioral disorder typically seen
in children. Over the past several years attention deficit hyperactive disorder seems
to be on the rise. Since 2011, eleven percent of children ranging from ages four to

many different types of treatments that one can do to improve their disorder. A few
of which include, short acting medicine, extended release medicine, and essential

diagnosing one with attention deficit hyperactive disorder is quite complicated. To

one suspects that a child has this disorder, it is recommended that a system of

Tax Exemptions in America
Decades ago, state and federal legislatures began offering tax exemptions, including
exemptions from property tax, for nonprofit institutions that provide charitable
services to communities. Nonprofit hospitals that qualify for federal tax exemption
under Internal Revenue Code В§501(c)(3) are not guaranteed state charitable tax
exemptions. A hospital must provide some amount of charity in order to be granted a
state tax exemption, however historical statues have failed to quantify what amount
of charity is sufficient to meet the charitable purpose exemption . In recent times,
nonprofit hospitals repeatedly have to defend the amount of charity and benefit they
provide to the community to maintain their state property tax exempt status. There
has been a recent, notable case where a hospital lost its property tax exemption. In
the case of Provena Covenant Medical Center V. Illinois Department of Revenue,
the Illinois Supreme Court held that PCMC does not provide enough charity care to
qualify for tax exemptions provided for nonprofit organizations that provide charity
care . Nonprofit hospitals are among the largest landowners in many communities,
in the US, billions of dollars in property is owned by nonprofit hospitals . Most
hospitals would owe millions in taxes if exempt properties were taxed. This report

Maximum Phonational Frequency Range Case Studies
Maximum Phonational Frequency Range (MPFR) is described as the maximum
range of phonation between a client s lowest modal/chest register tone and highest
loft tone/falsetto register. The MPFR is typically determined by using a pitch
matching procedure. Ms. Noid will be instructed to sustain a vowel (i.e. /a/) matching
the pitch of a presented tone (i.e. sine wave). She will start phonation at a comfortable
frequencylevel, and will incrementally increase her frequency range production, until
she can no longer sustain phonation. Then, Ms. Noid will be instructed to
incrementally decrease her frequency range until her modal phonation can no longer
be sustained.
The rationale for using an MPFR measure is to explore the physical condition of the
phonatory mechanism. Furthermore, it is a way to quantify the client s frequency
variability, measured through an entire range of frequencies (i.e. highest to lowest),
which are produced with maximal effort.

Ms. Noid will have a constrained phonational frequency range of approximately 1 2
octaves, reflecting a physiological limitation and impaired vocal mechanism, due to a
unilateral vocal fold paralysis. She will be unable to transition between low to high
frequency ranges, and exhibit a vocal quality characterized as breathy and hoarse.
3.Frequency Perturbation (jitter) is an indicator of the stability of phonation. It is a
measurement of cycle to cycle variability in fundamental frequency. Typically, results
are acquired from a three second mid segment sample of a sustained phonation task,
avoiding phonatory onset and offset. Fundamental frequency and intensity values
should be specified since they vary, affecting the Frequency Perturbation (jitter)
values.
The rationale for measuring jitter is that it provides objective measures for
distinguishing a normal from a disordered voice, and estimates vocal
Death Is Not Master By Thomas Miller
Let them die They want eternity In May Miller s Poem Death is not Master the
persona explains that death is not the master that will increase the desperation but
it is a way to become eternally calm. Many poems on the topic of death explain
how it is as powerful of a thing that fears the existence of human beings, but Miller
s persona death is a way to achieve eternal serenity. She explains death as something
that can end all the worldly tears, desires and tension and transform the human
memory into a sculpture which is unaware of tensions. Miller s persona believes
that blocking death will be unfair as it will be a barrier to the everlasting happiness
and calmness that lies inside the grave. Miller s persona is an elaboration of
Christian beliefs that death ends all worldly problems as an eternal life starts after
the death. The eternal life of a human or corpse after death is same as that of
sculpture which shines at night and remain in one place free of all tensions and
problems. As the life after death is full of calmness and happiness, so it must not
be blocked and everyone must welcome it to gain the everlasting lasting life. Thus,
in Miller s perspective death is not the master; instead, it is the slave of eternal life
of serenity and calmness that lies ahead. So, no one should try to become a barrier
by blocking the death. Repetition of you six times and I three times creates the
relationship between I and You who love each other a lot and never want

Mark Twain was the pen name of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, one of the major
authors of American fiction. Twain is also considered the greatest humorist in
American literature. His varied works include novels, travel narratives, short stories,
sketches, and essays. His writings about the Mississippi River, such as The

Finn, have proven especially popular among modern readers.

Here the young Twain experienced the excitement of the colorful steamboats that
docked at the town wharf, bringing comedians, singers, gamblers, swindlers, slave

a print shop in Hannibal. He used this experience when he went to work for a
newspaper and printing firm in 1847 after his father died in debt. This is where
Twain gained much of his knowledge since he had little formal schooling. In 1853,
Twain left Hannibal, displaying the yearning for travel that he would experience
throughout his life. He stayed briefly in cities such as St. Louis, New York,
Philadelphia and Cincinnati, working for low wages in print shops. He then traveled
to Keokuk, Iowa, to assist his brother with more printing business.
In 1857, Twain made plans to travel to South America, and in April of that year, he
started down the Mississippi River toward New Orleans. It was on this trip that
Twain made a decision with important consequences for his life and career. He met
a pilot named Horace Bixby who revived Twain s boyhood dream of learning the
river. So, instead of traveling to South America, Twain persuaded the riverboat pilot
to teach him the skills of piloting. By April 1859, Twain had become a licensed
riverboat pilot and he continued with this job until secession of the South from the
Union closed the river. Mark Twainserved briefly in the Marion Rangers, a militia

It s normal, just like all the other houses. Except in this house there is a room in the
basement holding something repulsive. In that room is a small child that is barely
cared for. Ursula Le Guin says the child s buttocks and thighs are a mass of
festered sores, as it sits in its own excrement continually . As you can tell the kid is
being neglected and not cared for as should be. It s quite gruesome. Some can t
handle the wrong being done to this child. A few individuals begin to think that if
their society lets this happen what else is wrong in Omelas? Is it not as perfect as
it seems? They can t deal with the fact that their happiness relies on the child s
abominable misery (3). Yes, some are so wracked with misery, guilt, and rage they

not like the problem will magically be solved by them trying to make a statement
and leave. Everyone will just live their life as if they did not exist. That child will

even more so. Leaving Omelas would put them is a such a culture shock too. They

decision they will never be able to return back to Omelas. Sending them from a

How Will Our Daily Lives Within The City Of Tomorrow...
How will our daily lives in the city of tomorrow unfold? What disruptions will smart
systems, technologies of automation and constant connectivity bring to our lifestyles?
Which new economic models will emerge and what will be the role of the nuances
of different geographical areas? What effect will this development of future cities
have on our natural resources and the environment? These are ideas and questions
that I wish to speculate on and explore.
Emergent technologies have advanced beyond our ability to conceptualize their
implications. New ways of living have already emerged based on constant
aggregation and processing of data. In the name of efficiency, advanced technology
like lidar, pattern recognition, synthetic sensing, and internet of things have been
introduced in models of smarter cities and smarter homes, promising constant
optimization of a city s functioning and of citizens day to day lives. Being born and

the ways in which the cultural and regional specificity in people s lifestyles shape the
identity of a city. While the mediation of technology is indisputably of central
importance when discussing the future of the urban environment, the projections for
the future usually refer mostly to economically advanced metropolises or to urban
areas with no local and traditional characteristics attributed to them. Different

understand others is essential to my learning. The reason for mentioning this I
need to be open to what people have to say because I don t know where they are
coming from. In the Art of Listening, it stated that a person should us I when are
taking charge, we do so to form unity. The only you should ever be used to address
someone in a group who is not contributing. Effective Listening skills states that
people react to 55 percent facial expression, 38 percent tone of voice and 7 percent
words. I will take this into consideration when applying these skills and by keeping
a low voice a straight face. These listening skills can be used in a classroom when
speaking to a professor or student by keeping full eye contact with an attentive facial
expression. This indicates you are listening to what they are saying and are serious
about learning. Furthermore, I need to writing down everything the professor says
because it can be essential for the exam. If I feel uncomfortable because of
something the professor said I should address it after class in a respectful manner.
Some of many benefits I can learn from improving my communication skill is
empathy. This is because I need to be sensitive with the way I speak to someone
because my words can be hurtful. This can also lead

The Best Day Of My Life Essay

  • 1. The Best Day Of My Life Essay Crafting an essay about "The Best Day of My Life" may seem like a straightforward task at first glance, as one might assume that narrating a positive experience would be inherently easy. However, the challenge lies in the intricacies of articulating emotions, memories, and personal reflections effectively. The task demands not only vivid storytelling but also a deep exploration of the significance and impact of the chosen day. The difficulty arises from the need to strike a balance between providing sufficient detail to engage the reader and avoiding excessive information that may dilute the essay's focus. Deciding which moments to highlight and how to convey their importance can be a daunting task, especially when attempting to capture the essence of a day that holds personal significance. Moreover, the challenge extends beyond mere storytelling to the expression of emotions. Conveying the feelings experienced during that special day requires a nuanced approach to language. The risk of falling into clichГ©s and generic expressions looms large, making it essential to find a unique voice that authentically communicates the joy, excitement, or profound moments associated with the best day. Additionally, the essay must be structured coherently, with a clear beginning, middle, and end. Transitioning between different aspects of the day while maintaining a smooth narrative flow adds another layer of complexity. The writer must carefully select words, phrases, and transitions to ensure that the reader remains engaged and follows the chronological or thematic progression seamlessly. In conclusion, writing an essay on "The Best Day of My Life" requires a delicate balance of storytelling, emotional expression, and structural finesse. It demands introspection, creativity, and a keen sense of narrative pacing to successfully convey the essence of a significant and cherished experience. • 2. How Does Priestley Present Eva How does Priestley present Sheila s developing awareness of her part in Eva s death? J.B. Priestley brings Sheila in mid way of act 1 as she is unaware to the situation, after asking what is happening Sheila gasps at the shock of Eva s suicide showing how unexpected her death was and how unaware she was of the situation. The quote Oh how horrible! shows how distraught Sheila was and the fact that Sheila did not even know of the death shows at this point she had no idea that she had a part in Eva s death let alone any of her family. Although her father thought that the Inspector when explaining the situation to Sheila implied that his dismissal of Eva from his workplace was the start to why Eva had committed suicide and to that Sheila had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Priestley presents Sheila s awareness to Eva Smith s death by using the technique of repetition, as though the Inspector was trying to make Sheila remember Eva as the woman she had fired from Milwards. Priestley uses the repetition of pretty very pretty also as irony as that is the reason Eva had been fired, although the manager had not known Eva was fired over jealousy, Sheila had threated the manager that if they did not rid the place of the girl her and her mother would never return to the shop again. The repetition of pretty very pretty shows Sheila s self consciousness and jealousy towards Eva s beauty and shows the audience Sheila s true character at the start of the play which was a lady who abused her high status as a wealthy customer when she insisted for the manager to dismiss Eva .The dash in between pretty very pretty shows a pause and this as well as the repition of pretty seems as though the Inspector is trying to emphasise on Eva and her beauty to help Sheila develop awareness of her part in Eva s death as well as show how insignificant a thing Sheila had gotten upset over and what large consequences it had. The Inspector makes Sheila subtly aware of Eva Smith s physical appearance which could have nudged Sheila to the truth that she had a part in Eva s death and as well as her father who had fired Eva at her first job Sheila was at fault as

Their external environment consists of government, weather, and the economy. FedEx does not have a very large external environment because their operations are not affect by many outside sources. The government affects FedEx s operations by providing security regulations. A regulation that affects them is increased security regulations that were just recently enforced by the federal government. These regulations protect FedEx from any external threats that can be within the goods they deliver. This protection can also negatively affect FedEx s operation by adding additional time to the delivery... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The internal environment of FedEx consists of customers, distribution and competitors. This environment determines what FedEx does to succeed in their market. FedEx has two major customers who consist of businesses and individual customers. These business customers have accounts with FedEx to arrive at their location to pick up packages daily or weekly. Two thirds of FedEx s business comes from these customers so FedEx curves their operations to satisfy this clientele. Since FedEx s competition is trying to acquire some of this clientele they have begun to operate and market to this clientele more effectively. Individual customers are also in FedEx s internal environment. These customers represent one third of their business. With increased competition from competitors FedEx has marketed to this market substantially. They have created boxes that are prepaid for shipment as long as the contents fit into the box. This has effectively increased business amongst individual customers for FedEx. FedEx s internal environment also consists of their distribution and delivery of packages. This environment contains FedEx s trucks and planes that it uses to transport their packages for their customers. If their trucks or planes break down FedEx needs to find an alternative or get these vehicle s fixed immediately. Appropriate maintenance and regulatory inspections are done to these vehicle to keep them up and running for FedEx. FedEx s internal environment

Los Angeles is a city of countless opportunities for the Rams to thrive and build their franchise. Los Angeles, a city of over 4 million, has finally achieved world class status but, on the other hand, relocating and building a new stadium costs millions of dollars and Stan Kroenke, the owner of the NFL Rams franchise, has a very hard decision to make whether or not he wants to move due to the fact he could lose millions of dollars if they are unsuccessful . How can you expect the St. Louis Rams to pay off their stadium in St. Louis when they can t even get a full house to watch and support them? This is why the St. Louis Rams should move back to the 2nd most popular city in America, Los Angeles. The NFL wanted to move to L.A. so badly that The N.F.L. claims that St. Louis always had a real shot at retaining the Rams, a claim that s hard to believe (Nocera 14). This could spark up a revolution of winning seasons, sold out games, and superbowls. Relocate to revive the Rams
  • 5. Abraham Lincoln And Pop Culture In today s society Abraham Lincoln is still a popular figure in our culture. He was a common man that came from nothing but had big dreams for himself. Since Lincoln s death in 1865, we still see him in pop culture today. We find him on the flipped side of a penny, on Mt. Rushmore, and anything from movies to action figures. The most known about piece of pop culture Lincoln is depicted in is the movie Lincoln. The movie shows Lincoln in the times of the Civil War. Lincoln shows the Congressional Debates all the way to the fighting done on the battlefields. Also, being showed was hard fighting that had to be done to win the fight against slavery. The war came down to the nitty gritty to win so that no black person would be owned. The ending showed President Lincoln s death. This was heartfelt and should be a movie that everyone watches at least once in their lifetime.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The aging of Lincoln and Grant telling Lincoln that he looked like he had aged 10 years since the previous year showed the toll the war had on Lincoln. A lot of hard work goes into being the President of the United States and it wasn t a walk in the park to completely abolish slavery. This movie had great meaning and was well thought out. Throughout this movie there was many different Lincoln s portrayed. The first Lincoln I thought that was portrayed is Lincoln the Man of the People. Lincoln just wasn t worried about the blacks he was worried about this nation as a whole and it not being divided. Throughout the movie he was shown as wanting what was best for his American people. He wanted the violence to stop and no longer wanted to see lives taken because of this awful
  • 6. Essay about History of D-Day History of D Day During the 1930 s, isolationism and the depression swept through the United States. But before the fall of France in 1940, the United States was starting to pull away from being neutral, which they claimed at the beginning of the European war. Americans and the British would hold conversations between themselves known as the ABC talks. It was there that they both targeted Germany as their prime enemy. Even though there was tension in the Pacific in 1941, American leaders had agreed that any war that was going to occur between Japan and the United States had to be secondary. Our prime target was Germany, and that s what we would focus on defeating. Roosevelt soon concluded that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the defeat of Germany was the objective, then the mission was to attack at the heart of German power as early and as forcefully as possible. With this, careful consideration of Army mobilization and training, military construction, naval and merchant shipbuilding revealed that the Army could expect to go over to the offensive no earlier than July 1, 1943. Achieving the necessary military conditions for attack, though simple to state, was more an uncertain proposition. Wedemeyer suggested in his plan that no invasion of Europe could succeed until the navies defeated the Axis fleets and secured the Atlantic lines of communication. The Allies however, had managed to take control of the air. They would

Before the U.S had officially entered the war, plans existed for the defeat of Germany. The plan heavily relied on an invasion of the continent of Europe, in order to strike the heart of Germany. The U.S. sought to weaken their military buildup, and heighten ours in Britain. For a period of time, there was much contemplation of attacking Germany from the Mediterranean, where the British had already been succeeding in defeating the Germans. Americans had to reject the idea of the Mediterranean approach due to the fact it was impossible to concentrate full Allied
  • 8. Anomic And Egoistic Suicide the degree of an individual s integration or relationship with his or her society. These four types of suicides are egoistic, altruistic, anomic and fatalistic suicides (Durkheim, 1897). Egoistic Suicide By Durkheim s principle of integration, egoistic suicide is caused by deficient integration with the society, that is to say, that people who commit suicidedo so because they lack proper connection with their immediate society and also with the members of the society. Owing to this low or sometimes absolute lack of integration, such persons feel marginalized, or that they are not accepted in the society may be because they are seen as outcasts, refugees, or as strangers; it could also be a feeling that their presence is neither appreciated nor their needs supported by the society. This feeling according to Durkheim gives way to individualism, isolation and ultimately the individual becomes a prey to suicide (Durkheim, 1897). Supporting the view of Durkheim, Elizabeth Wilkins also considers egoistic suicide as a consequence of abnormal degree of individualism. This total withdrawal to oneself and its attendant lack of social network makes the individual to easily succumb to any slightest discomfort or shock or awful circumstances thus, exposing the individual to suicidal behavior or any form of self destructive acts (Wilkins, 1979). ... • 9. Analysis Of The Children Of Men One would present a rather facile and straightforward argument in saying that P.D. James The Children of Men encompasses the very essence of dystopia and portrays it in way that evokes a sense of pathos within her audience. However, one might find it difficult to claim that the notion of romantic love, or eros, exists at a level greater than that of the general sense of complacency and desolation that runs rampant throughout humanity in James world. That being said, it becomes even more difficult to say, however, that there is no attraction, that there is only a platonic relationship between James protagonist, Theo Faron, and the lieutenant of the Five Fishes, Julian. By that reasoning, it can then be argued that there is a place for... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After having the citizenry wander around for a bit, have Julian appear on the stage lit in a warm, sun like light, in stark contrast with the harsh, fluorescent lighting used to show the market and the other unrelated people. That would then be the cue for Theo to enter the scene on either side of the stage where he would deliver a soliloquy, or monologue of sorts to the audience that would basically reenact the first time in the plotline where he relays his strong romantic feelings for Julian. Theo s position in relation to Julian would have to be one that is not quite distanced, but not too close either. In order to understand the theatrical decisions in regard to actor placement and setting in the aforementioned scene depicting Theo proclaiming his love for Julian, one must first understand eros, it s position within The Children of Men, and how it relates to Theo. According to C.S. Lewis, the concept of eros does not echo it s traditional Greek interpretation of sexual love, but rather explains the state in which man develops a delighted preoccupation with the Beloved a general, unspecified pre occupation with her in her totality. A man in this state really hasn t leisure to think of sex. He is too busy thinking of a person. (Lewis, 93) Though this interpretation by Lewis of eros may not fit the textbook definition and may seem somewhat trivial and juvenile in it s essence, it holds merit in

In Britain, an estimated 80% of couples live together before getting married. Australia is just behind at 77%. The reason given by many couples who cohabit is that they believe they will increase the chances of success when they eventually marry. However, research has shown that this idea is a fallacy. And it flies against God s intention that men and women be sexually joined together only in marriage. Here s what some of the research reveals: Although most theories of marital choice predict that cohabitation would increase the stability of later marriage for those couples who marry, evidence to date suggests the opposite; couples who cohabit before marriage seem to end their marriages at significantly higher rates than couples who never lived together before the wedding (Demography, August 1995, p.438). Some studies put the divorce rate at 50% higher for couples who cohabit; others put it as high as 80%. In America roughly 40% of cohabiting couples break up before marriage. Many couples apparently move in together intending to marry later. One study revealed that 70% of women moved in with a man with marriage on their minds (Adams,S. amp; Young,B., The 10 Commandments of Dating, 1999, p.110). Many people who choose to live together before marriage show that they are reluctant to commit to a relationship and want to keep their options open. Apparently they value their autonomy and individuality. However, these

In the exit polls Tuesday, 61 percent of those who supported the novice Republican said they believe he can erase multibillion dollar deficits without raising taxes, a feat that even some of his top economic advisors have questioned (Sanchez). • 17. Female Sexuality Throughout Shakespeare s Hamlet Hamlet, a tragic play written by Shakespeare in the 1600s, portrays the struggle of young Hamlet in the face of avenging his father s death. While major themes throughout this tragedy include death, loss, madness, revenge, and morality, another important theme to include in discussion is the theme of womanhood. The only two female characters in a cast of thirty five include Queen Gertrudeand Ophelia, both of whom die unfortunate deaths. The importance of womanhood and female sexuality is shown through several literary techniques; though, most importantly, the characters Queen Gertrude and Ophelia are both symbols for female sexuality. Both characters are developed as negative and positive sides to womanhood through dialogue as other characters approach them, their own actions, and most importantly, their individual deaths. Queen Gertrude is the mother to Hamlet, widow to the late King, and new wife to King Claudius as shown within the first act of Hamlet. Following her marriage to King Claudius, her relationship with her son Hamlet becomes strained. Queen Gertrude symbolizes much of what is considered to be a negative aspect of womanhood. To Hamlet, Queen Gertrude is a failure of a woman. Through his dialogue, it is presented that Hamlet desires a woman and mother to be concerned for her family and place tradition above all else. When Hamlet s mother makes a decision outside of that realm and marries King Claudius, Hamlet strives to berate her for her choices. Through

Nevertheless, both Confucians and Legalists used their advice for their rulers as a method to exert political power. Clearly, there were some differences in the way these civilizations exerted their political power, and this can be seen in the

Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood Essay Margaret Sanger s Planned Parenthood During a time in which white supremacy was being challenged by an ever increasing African population, a woman named Margaret Sanger sought to purify America s breeding stock and purge America s bad stains (Planned Parenthood). She set out to establish the American Birth Control League, which eventually became the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). Sanger s actions provoked much controversy because at the time not only was contraception illegal in the United States, but it was denounced by almost every major religious denomination (Contraception History). Because of the Comstock Law of 1873, the mailing of information regarding contraception or devices to perform contraceptive techniques was prohibited. This was a major obstacle for Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood. As a result of the 1936 court case U.S. v. One Package, the mailing of contraceptive related materials among physicians was legalized (Planned Parenthood). This turning point signified that contraceptives were finally beginning to be regarded as an important area of medicine. The mailing of contraceptive material to married couples and single adults was not legalized until 1965 and 1972 respectively (Contraception History). The government continued to liberalize its other policies regarding contraception as a result of Sanger s influence. Margaret Sanger s hard work to legalize and promote contraception was rooted in her belief that those who were impoverished should not procreate. In her book My Fight for Birth Control, Sanger claims, I associate poverty, toil, unemployment, drunkenness, cruelty, quarreling, fighting, debts, and jails with large families (Planned Parenthood). Sanger set out to sterilize the unfit and make known methods to control the population (Planned Parenthood). Many of her colleagues were racist and believed contraception should be used for the purpose of maintaining

In the modern age the limits of human performance have been reached and further improvements can only be made by developing the equipment used. The introduction of strong, lightweight materials has also allowed new sports and activities to be developed. However despite these developments there are many debates that must be taken into account before implementation, such as ethical, social, and economic considerations, the accessibility and affordability of such materials, and the safety of the athletes using them. Over the past several years attention deficit hyperactive disorder seems to be on the rise. Since 2011, eleven percent of children ranging from ages four to seventeen were diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactive disorder (Children with ADHD et. Al. 2016). Attention deficit hyperactive disorder is a difficult disorder to diagnosis, but once the disorder is diagnosed there are ways to manage it. There are many different types of treatments that one can do to improve their disorder. A few of which include, short acting medicine, extended release medicine, and essential oils. Diagnosing One with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder The process for diagnosing one with attention deficit hyperactive disorder is quite complicated. To diagnosis someone, the process requires different factors and groups of people. When one suspects that a child has this disorder, it is recommended that a system of contacts be put together with school and other personnel to observe the child (Wolraich et. Al. 2011). There are a few characteristics that someone with attention deficit hyperactive disorder typically have. Those qualities include, a persistent pattern of impulsivity, inattention, and hyperactivity as well as difficulty staying on task, and difficultly staying organized that affects development and functioning (American Psychiatric Association 90). Tax Exemptions in America Decades ago, state and federal legislatures began offering tax exemptions, including exemptions from property tax, for nonprofit institutions that provide charitable services to communities. Nonprofit hospitals that qualify for federal tax exemption under Internal Revenue Code В§501(c)(3) are not guaranteed state charitable tax exemptions. A hospital must provide some amount of charity in order to be granted a state tax exemption, however historical statues have failed to quantify what amount of charity is sufficient to meet the charitable purpose exemption . In recent times, nonprofit hospitals repeatedly have to defend the amount of charity and benefit they provide to the community to maintain their state property tax exempt status. There has been a recent, notable case where a hospital lost its property tax exemption. In the case of Provena Covenant Medical Center V. Illinois Department of Revenue, the Illinois Supreme Court held that PCMC does not provide enough charity care to qualify for tax exemptions provided for nonprofit organizations that provide charity care . Nonprofit hospitals are among the largest landowners in many communities, in the US, billions of dollars in property is owned by nonprofit hospitals . Most hospitals would owe millions in taxes if exempt properties were taxed. This report will examine the Illinois Supreme court decision in Provena Covenant Medical Center v. • 36. Maximum Phonational Frequency Range Case Studies Maximum Phonational Frequency Range (MPFR) is described as the maximum range of phonation between a client s lowest modal/chest register tone and highest loft tone/falsetto register. The MPFR is typically determined by using a pitch matching procedure. Ms. Noid will be instructed to sustain a vowel (i.e. /a/) matching the pitch of a presented tone (i.e. sine wave). She will start phonation at a comfortable frequencylevel, and will incrementally increase her frequency range production, until she can no longer sustain phonation. Then, Ms. Noid will be instructed to incrementally decrease her frequency range until her modal phonation can no longer be sustained. The rationale for using an MPFR measure is to explore the physical condition of the phonatory mechanism. Furthermore, it is a way to quantify the client s frequency variability, measured through an entire range of frequencies (i.e. highest to lowest), which are produced with maximal effort. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ms. Noid will have a constrained phonational frequency range of approximately 1 2 octaves, reflecting a physiological limitation and impaired vocal mechanism, due to a unilateral vocal fold paralysis. She will be unable to transition between low to high frequency ranges, and exhibit a vocal quality characterized as breathy and hoarse. 3.Frequency Perturbation (jitter) is an indicator of the stability of phonation. It is a measurement of cycle to cycle variability in fundamental frequency. Typically, results are acquired from a three second mid segment sample of a sustained phonation task, avoiding phonatory onset and offset. Fundamental frequency and intensity values should be specified since they vary, affecting the Frequency Perturbation (jitter) values. The rationale for measuring jitter is that it provides objective measures for distinguishing a normal from a disordered voice, and estimates vocal
  • 37. Death Is Not Master By Thomas Miller Let them die They want eternity In May Miller s Poem Death is not Master the persona explains that death is not the master that will increase the desperation but it is a way to become eternally calm. Many poems on the topic of death explain how it is as powerful of a thing that fears the existence of human beings, but Miller s persona death is a way to achieve eternal serenity. She explains death as something that can end all the worldly tears, desires and tension and transform the human memory into a sculpture which is unaware of tensions. Miller s persona believes that blocking death will be unfair as it will be a barrier to the everlasting happiness and calmness that lies inside the grave. Miller s persona is an elaboration of Christian beliefs that death ends all worldly problems as an eternal life starts after the death. The eternal life of a human or corpse after death is same as that of sculpture which shines at night and remain in one place free of all tensions and problems. As the life after death is full of calmness and happiness, so it must not be blocked and everyone must welcome it to gain the everlasting lasting life. Thus, in Miller s perspective death is not the master; instead, it is the slave of eternal life of serenity and calmness that lies ahead. So, no one should try to become a barrier by blocking the death. Repetition of you six times and I three times creates the relationship between I and You who love each other a lot and never want

His varied works include novels, travel narratives, short stories, sketches, and essays. His writings about the Mississippi River, such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Life on the Mississippi and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, have proven especially popular among modern readers. I feel that many of Mark Twains writings are greatly influenced by experiences that he had to deal with throughput his life. Here the young Twain experienced the excitement of the colorful steamboats that docked at the town wharf, bringing comedians, singers, gamblers, swindlers, slave dealers, and assorted other river travelers. Twain also gained his first experience in a print shop in Hannibal. He used this experience when he went to work for a newspaper and printing firm in 1847 after his father died in debt. This is where Twain gained much of his knowledge since he had little formal schooling. In 1853, Twain left Hannibal, displaying the yearning for travel that he would experience throughout his life. He stayed briefly in cities such as St. Louis, New York, Philadelphia and Cincinnati, working for low wages in print shops. He then traveled to Keokuk, Iowa, to assist his brother with more printing business. In 1857, Twain made plans to travel to South America, and in April of that year, he started down the Mississippi River toward New Orleans. It was on this trip that Twain made a decision with important consequences for his life and career. He met a pilot named Horace Bixby who revived Twain s boyhood dream of learning the river. So, instead of traveling to South America, Twain persuaded the riverboat pilot to teach him the skills of piloting. By April 1859, Twain had become a licensed riverboat pilot and he continued with this job until secession of the South from the Union closed the river. Smoke some marijuana and get as high as that kite! Whatever you want Omelas has it! Yet, just like our society it has flaws and people disagree with them. One might argue that the small child locked in a basement being mistreated is a major flaw in Omelas. They believe it s cruel and begin to feel guilty. This leads to them wanting to leave. But, this child is like a sacrifice; in return the community has abundance of their harvest, good weather, healthy children, and many more benefits. This leads to only rule in Omelas. You CANNOT do anything about this child s misery!... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s normal, just like all the other houses. Except in this house there is a room in the basement holding something repulsive. In that room is a small child that is barely cared for. Ursula Le Guin says the child s buttocks and thighs are a mass of festered sores, as it sits in its own excrement continually . As you can tell the kid is being neglected and not cared for as should be. It s quite gruesome. Some can t handle the wrong being done to this child. A few individuals begin to think that if their society lets this happen what else is wrong in Omelas? Is it not as perfect as it seems? They can t deal with the fact that their happiness relies on the child s abominable misery (3). Yes, some are so wracked with misery, guilt, and rage they do leave. But, what s the point? Their leaving isn t going to change anything. It s not like the problem will magically be solved by them trying to make a statement and leave. Everyone will just live their life as if they did not exist. That child will still be miserable. Also, that guilt will just follow them wherever they go, maybe even more so. Leaving Omelas would put them is a such a culture shock too. They have no idea where they are going, and no nothing of the challenges they will have to face. Some may even walk right into their death. And if they begin to regret their decision they will never be able to return back to Omelas. Sending them from a happy person to someone

What disruptions will smart systems, technologies of automation and constant connectivity bring to our lifestyles? Which new economic models will emerge and what will be the role of the nuances of different geographical areas? What effect will this development of future cities have on our natural resources and the environment? These are ideas and questions that I wish to speculate on and explore. Emergent technologies have advanced beyond our ability to conceptualize their implications. New ways of living have already emerged based on constant aggregation and processing of data. In the name of efficiency, advanced technology like lidar, pattern recognition, synthetic sensing, and internet of things have been introduced in models of smarter cities and smarter homes, promising constant optimization of a city s functioning and of citizens day to day lives. Being born and raised in a diverse and multi ethnic country like India, I ve been conditioned to notice the ways in which the cultural and regional specificity in people s lifestyles shape the identity of a city. While the mediation of technology is indisputably of central importance when discussing the future of the urban environment, the projections for the future usually refer mostly to economically advanced metropolises or to urban areas with no local and traditional characteristics attributed to them. The Art Of Listening And Communication And Listen Skills What I ve Learned What stood out to me when I read The Art of Listening and Communication Listen Skills is that I have to take other people s feelings into consideration. Being able to understand others is essential to my learning. The reason for mentioning this I need to be open to what people have to say because I don t know where they are coming from. In the Art of Listening, it stated that a person should us I when are taking charge, we do so to form unity. The only you should ever be used to address someone in a group who is not contributing. Effective Listening skills states that people react to 55 percent facial expression, 38 percent tone of voice and 7 percent words. I will take this into consideration when applying these skills and by keeping a low voice a straight face. These listening skills can be used in a classroom when speaking to a professor or student by keeping full eye contact with an attentive facial expression. This indicates you are listening to what they are saying and are serious about learning. Furthermore, I need to writing down everything the professor says because it can be essential for the exam. If I feel uncomfortable because of something the professor said I should address it after class in a respectful manner. Some of many benefits I can learn from improving my communication skill is empathy. This is because I need to be sensitive with the way I speak to someone because my words can be hurtful.
