Buy Nothing Day Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Buy Nothing Day" can present its own set of challenges.
While the concept may seem straightforward at first glance, delving into the intricacies of
consumerism, societal norms, and the potential impact of a day dedicated to abstaining from
purchases requires careful consideration.
One challenge lies in striking the right balance between presenting a persuasive argument and
maintaining an unbiased tone. Discussing the merits and drawbacks of a day devoted to
refraining from buying can be a delicate task, requiring a nuanced exploration of economic,
environmental, and personal perspectives.
Furthermore, navigating through the diverse range of opinions on consumerism and sustainability
demands thorough research and the ability to synthesize information cohesively. Addressing the
potential benefits of such a day while acknowledging the counterarguments requires a skillful
weaving of facts, statistics, and expert opinions.
The essay should not only highlight the global implications of excessive consumption but also
address the psychological and emotional aspects that drive consumer behavior. This necessitates
delving into the psychology of marketing, societal expectations, and the role of individual
choices in a consumer-driven world.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Buy Nothing Day" demands a multifaceted
approach, combining research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Successfully
navigating through the complexities of the subject requires a thorough understanding of
economic, environmental, and societal factors. It is a task that necessitates not only the ability to
articulate ideas but also to engage the reader in a thoughtful exploration of the topic.

Field Grade Warrant Officer
As a Field Grade Warrant Officer, I feel you should be very familiar with your
organizational communication processes. You have to know you direct bosses
left and right limits. If you learn this lesson early, it will keep you out of trouble
and you will be more successful in your career. I had to learn this lesson the hard
way as a new maintenance test pilot at my unit. We were a Kiowa Warrior unit and
had a problem with the IVHUMS on one of our aircraft. After two days of our guys
looking in the books to find the answer, I called another maintenance test pilot in
our state. I thought this would be ok, because he was from our state. My whole
command was upset at me because I didn t wait to see if we could figure it out
ourselves. I didn t
Right To Write Literature About War Analysis
Who has the right to write literature about war?
Who has the right to write literature about war? When I first read the question it
elicited strong feelings of ownership from me. Having been in combat myself I felt
that no one could properly capture the emotions and experiences one goes through
during those moments unless you have directly participated in them. I felt that
only those of us that have been in combat should report or write about it. How
could someone that had never experienced combat truly grasp what it is like? How
could they properly convey the sounds and the smells, the feeling of almost losing
your life so you can take another s? Trying to describe what combat is like to people
that have never participated in it is a losing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As I sat down to write this essay I tried to remove my emotional response to the
question and think about it from the perspective of someone that hasn t been in
combat. Why wouldn t someone want to write about war? As we have learned this
week through Bierce s works some of the most gallant and noble scenes human
beings can participate in happen through the act of war. It brings out the absolute
best and worst in man often in the same moment. The problem for me is that when
we write so often we draw on our own personnel experiences to help communicate
that story, if I want to write a love story I will draw on my own experiences with
love. If I want to write a story about family I can use the way I am raising my own
as a baseline for the feelings and emotions I am trying to give to the reader. War is so
outside of the normal human experience that it takes a very talented writer to breach
this experience without ever having lived it. Some writers have attempted to
interview veterans and use those stories as there baseline for what they are writing.
This in my opinion can work to a point but falls short due the writer using the
emotions that these interviews illicit in them, not what the person they are
interviewing actually experienced. I believe that anyone has the right to write about
war, but the writer should use extreme caution in the telling of these

The Importance Of Imersion Experiences
The summer immersion experiences are two or three week readiness programs.
These immersion experiences are for students with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD
or other learning differences. The program has two separate concentrations; the
college focus and the career and life focus. The college focused immersion
experience is for students entering 9 12 grades or transferring to college. The program
recognizes the importance of a studentfeeling comfortable and supported by a
college they attend no matter what their level of ability is, but especially when a
student is diagnosed with ASD/LD. This program assists students with being able
to determine their own needs, self advocate their needs, and expose students to
different types of college programs (Transitions, 2016). Students who attend this
immersion program will tour colleges with strong ASD/LD supports, take part in
composition labs for college and scholarship application essays, develop
communication and social skills, and earn college credit (Transitions, 2016). The
career and life focused immersion experience is for young adults up to age 27 who
want to start careers and live on their own. This program works to teach students
core skills found to be essential for career success. Students will learn how to
properly prepare for work or a career and appropriate ways to act at work.

each trial using 25.0В±0.6mL, mixed with 10 drops of Oxalic acid, were titrated
with a standardized 0.0037Оњ Iodine (I2) solution to oxidize the Ascorbic Acid,

participants in the experimental investigation, with the data shown in Table 6 in the
Appendix.
Each Orange juice, after being poured out of its original container or being freshly
squeezed out of the fruit, has some slight variations in its physical characteristics.
The similarities between all fruit juices are that they were all in their liquid form,
had a low viscosity similar to that of water, that the liquid appeared to be opaque. The
physical differences of the various types of orange juices are as follows: the colours
of each of the liquids had slight variances of yellow with the Navel ... Show more

Messi is The Best Soccer PLayer The world s best when I was growing up was Pele
and he would have been a great player now, too, but Messi surpasses him. He s also
way out ahead of Diego Maradona it s not even a close call any more ( m messi).
Lionel Messi is an Argentine soccer player that currently plays with both Futbol Club
Barcelona and his country Argentina. In the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo is a
Portuguese soccer player that is playing with Real Madrid Club de FГєtbol and his
country. Both of these guys have wrote their names down as some of the the best
soccer players in the world and continue to add records because they are not going
to stop soon. While critics argue that Ronaldo is the best player, I argue that Messi
is the best player of all time, because he has won more ballon d or and has a better
playing style even though Ronaldo has more goals and some better strengths.

his goal scoring ability is amazing (Ronaldo vs Messi). This quote talk about his
phenomenal skills and how he uses them at the time of game and how he is able to
make the impossible look unchallenging. Some say that Messi is instinctual athlete

Messi does like to score and for that reason he has a lot of goals but what makes

Fast Food And The Kingdom Of The Fast Foods Industry
America, it is the one of the greatest nation in the world, and it is also known as the
cradle and the kingdom of the fast food industry. Since White Castle, which was
known as the first fast food chain in the United States, was established by Walter
Anderson and Edgar Waldo Billy Ingram in 1921 (Kieler), other fast foodchains also
emerged such as McDonalds, Taco bell, Burger King, or Wendy s after 1941
(Wilson). Among those various fast food chains, especially, McDonalds became the
biggest fast food chain not only in the overall America but also all around the world
(Wilson). Nowadays, fast food is serving 50,000,000 people in the United States(
Statistic Brain ). Fast food has become kind of daily food in America. However,...

In the modern age, most people are so busy that they cannot even spend their time
for eating or sleeping (Hamrick). As time goes on, people want something fast,
convenient and comfortable. This situation definitely is the main background of
the emergence of fast food industry. In order to satisfy modern people s desire, fast
food industry could emerge (Hamrick). One of the main advantages of fast food is
making food so quickly so that modern people, who are so busy, can easily save
their time, and they don t have to waste time to cook. Most fast food chains also
have drive thru, so that people can easily order their food in their cars, and they
don t even need to get out of their cars to purchase. When compared to other
traditional restaurants, people can realize that they save their time more than an
hour from ordering to finishing their meals (Editorial Staff). This benefit is
definitely the main reason why people want to buy fast food ( The Role of Time in
Fast Food Purchasing Behavior in the United States ). And this time that saved by
fast food can be useful for people to spend their time effectively and efficiently.
According to the survey in Office Team, half of workers in the United States have
only 30 minutes for a lunch break (Park). It means that many workers cannot afford
their time to eat in traditional restaurants. Thus, fast food helps them to buy and to
eat a food during their short
Essay On Mark Cuban
Mark Cuban is a self made billionaire who has made his fortune by his innovating
idea; online media. He was born in July 31, 1958 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then
he grew up in a middle class family. His grandfather immigrated into the United
States from Russia, and from there the Cuban s family started to develop. Mark was
always one step forward, and always saw a way to make money. At a young age,
when he was twelve years old, he sold sets of garbage bags so he can buy the shoes
he likes, and gave dance classes while he was at college so he could pay his tuition.

gave solutions to its clients on computer networking. Cuban became an expert on
the computer networking, the company had a well planned business model, and it
was profitable. Due to its success, the company was sold to CompuServe for six
million dollars. Furthermore, after getting his money, he took a break from the
world. He moved briefly to California, he studied acting where he appeared in
numerous movies. After his break, he went back to Dallas to work on another
business idea. His partner, Todd Wagner, and Cuban worked on audio broadcast
that would transmit live the Indiana Basketball games; the company was called
AudioNet. However, Cuban and Wagner were pleased with radio broadcast, but
they were aimed bigger and decided to video broadcast on the internet. They
changed the name of the company to Broadcast.com in 1998, and they started
streaming sports and events on the internet. No one, before this company, has ever
broadcasted live events, so Mark Cuban became a market leader in the internet
broadcasting industry. In 1999 Mark sold the company to Yahoo for $5.7 billion, and
then Mark became a billionaire; his net worth becoming $1.5 billion.
One of Mark Cuban s greatest attribute to the economy, is that he helps entrepreneurs
and donates money to charity. He participates on the show Shark Tank, where
The Problem Of Obesity And Obesity
One contemporary problem of health is obesity. Obesity is considered a lifestyle
disease since it is not infectious or contagious and because it is chronic. But since
it is labeled as a lifestyle disease, many people, both lay people and experts, only
look at overweight and obese individual s lifestyles and criticizes them. But not to
look at wider possibilities that could be having a great influence on this epidemic
(Warwick Booth, Cross, and Lowcock, 2012). This can be seen in how people talk
about obesity and also obese and overweight people. It also affects how people try
to solve this problem. The most popular view about how obesity is formed and
why it is increasing is that people are eating a lot more food or more calorically
dense foods and not exercising enough. Which is true, people are not as active or
eating as healthily as before. This could be due to more busy lifestyles where
people cannot work out as much or prepare healthy meals at home so they eat out.
Life in modernized countries has become very convenient, we have cars and other
types of transport, plus we have grocery stores (in most places), convenient stores,
vending machines in many public builds, restaurants (both fancy and fast food)
that we can go to or deliver to us and we can order junk food online to have junk
food from different countries. This causes less activity since now we don t need to
close by walk places, but it also causes less healthy food choices since they are of an
abundant supply.
The Need For Strategic Alliances And Other Partners
The Need for Strategic Alliances and Other Partners The changing nature of work has
accelerated the need to collaborate across departmental, company, advisor, and vendor
boundaries. This increased focus on enterprise collaboration has required tight
integration of EDI technology and communication. When CSI started to enter into
strategic alliances, we developed ongoing relationships with our channel partners, in
order to offer customers complete human resource solutions. CSI has developed multi
layered partnering programs which can offer clients noticeable business value. This
global ecosystem of partners includes enrollment integration, banking technology, HR
software solutions, as well as service providers that provide a range of consulting,
resale, outsourcing, HR services, and technology which grants our clients access to a
comprehensive collaboration strategy. Our channel partnerships become like the
volunteers of Folding@home, a variety of parties tapping unused resources to
contribute to the power and efficiency of the extended enterprise. Just as F@H
encouraged its volunteers through competitions and tracking, our channel partners
are incentivized through direct commissions on products, but more importantly,
opportunities with new relationships that weren t available before. To facilitate the
shift toward collaboration as a business process enabler, CSI has partnered with
several leading solution providers and vendors, including: Aflac Oxford NEPC
Globalization Of Globalization
Is the international political economy more globalized today than in 2000? One could
argue that the groundwork for such a phenomenon has been soundly laid by the post
World War machinations that generated entities such as the International Monetary
Fund and the World Bank. No doubt, events such as the terror attack, a particularly
nasty form of globalization, that occurred on September 11th, 2001, raised awareness
of globalization in general as we realized that a plot conceived in Afghanistan,
Germany, and elsewhere could be brought to fruition within our own borders.
(Keohane :2004) Certainly, technological innovations like the smartphone, social
media, and e commerce have enriched the already fertile global ground that brought
forth a level of global interdependence, shared knowledge, and communication laying
the groundwork for what is now referred to as the age of globalization. (Scholte
:2000) However, much of this may have facilitated the process, but most certainly
fueled global perception of the reality of an enmeshed economic, political, and social
system. Whatever the case may be with the preceding, the globalization of
international political economy is evident as problems from weakened states,
decreasing political autonomy, and powerful non state actors now shape international
economic, political, and social spheres alongside to the consternation of the global
political hegemony.

Scared Of My Shadow Reflection
It is evident that Scared of My Shadow portrays the fear that parents have about
raising their children in a dangerous world. Mark Miller, father of Emanuel, asks the
important questions in order to uncover the best parenting style. One main point
discussed throughout the documentary is how the world has changed so much in
such little time. For instance, our parents generation used to be away from the house
all day long, with no forms of communication. Occasionally, they would check in with
their parents, but other than that, they were to be home by dark. Nowadays, some
children are not even allowed to play in the yard without supervision. In the
documentary, parents stated that they are too afraid to let their children grow up and

Parents are unsure of the best parenting style, thus only want to know the correct
answers in order to benefit their children. Likewise, the media is solely affecting the
parents, which makes sense, because most parents watch or read the news at some
point throughout the day in order to keep up with current information. Also, this
generation is more centered on technology, compared to previous generations, which
explains the shift in focus on the dangers in the world. Another way my perspective
changed was by seeing the statements and reactions of the parents. Majority of the
parents in the documentary were overprotective, which only gave one side of the
debate. Although there were a few exceptions of parents stories that were lenient in
their parenting style, most of the documentary was one sided. I was surprised that
Mark Miller did not film the reactions of overprotective parents after the findings in
his documentary. If he had, it would have been interesting to see whether parents
were going to change their parenting styles or not. Also, would be fascinating to see
if people changed their source of information and perspectives on the dangers in the

Soy lecithin: Soy lecithin is found in almost all the products that we consume. Soy
lecithin is created by extracting the oil from the beans usually hexane, after this the
raw oil goes through a refining process where the crude oil gets mixed with water so
that the lecithin may become hydrated so that they can be removed. But there is a
staggering concern with the amount of hexane let over from this process. People with
soy allergies should try to avoid this chemical but not necessarily cancel this product

In the article Provide access to clean water from the Grand Challenges for

emphasizes why having access to clean water is important to prevent any of these
diseases from happening. Most of our clean water comes from digging wells to

Biometric Codes Are Used For Recognising A User On The...
Abstract
Biometric systems are used for recognising a user on the basis of biometric traits
he have. During authentication some of the frequently asked questions are Is he
who he claims to be? , Is he a valid user for gaining access to the system? .
Biometric system answers all these questions by authenticating the users. Every
second information is shared and transferred between people and it is important to
make sure that what is sent by sender is what received by the receiver thus raising
the demand of security. Steganography is one of the techniques used for securing
the data. The secret message is hidden inside a cover media like audio, video or
image with the help of a secret key. Biometric templates can also be secured with
this technique. Instead of storing original templates in the database stego image is
stored. LSB is one of the common techniques that replace the LSB of every pixel of
the cover image with the secret message to form stego image.
Keywords: Biometric, Biometric Attacks, Biometric template, Steganography,
Security.
1.Introduction
With increasing rate of attacks, everyone today needs a reliable and secure system.
Biometric systems fulfil the needs to a great extent as biometric traits are better than
passwords or pins which have chances of being stolen and forgotten. Before using
biometric systems enrolment phase is necessary during which the templates of the
users are stored in the database. During authentication user s claim is matched with

Over the course of Britain s centuries of history, events such as the industrialization
of the Britain in the 19th century and many others proved to be pivotal events
placing Britain as a pre modern superpower. As described in the encyclopedia The
History of World Trade Since 1450, Britain s mid nineteenth century economy is
often referred to as the workshop of the world (Harley 396). Caused by the newly
invented technological advancements, Britain began to export two thirds of the world
s inventory made by advanced machinery. Bringing in the newly created steam
engine, industries such as the iron and textile developed into major providers of
wealth in the trade network of Britain. With growing industries and a source

The concept, function, and regulation of a physical currency whether coin or bill,
falls under the control of the banks and government of the nation. In the case of
Britain, several acts known collectively as the Grenville Acts became notorious for
being a catalyst to the American Revolution. Searching for a form of prevention
from use of valueless coinage for payment of debts, one act, known as the Currency
Act of 1764, disallowed the minting of currency within the British colonies.
(Selesky 293). Many problems arose, but in the short term, a solution had been
created to satisfy the needs of the empire temporarily as they progressed in terms of
technology and geopolitical power. Along with the many decrees and orders of the
government came the bankers, organizations of financially suited individuals who
could very well be given the title for consolidating funds into an infrastructure for the
whole of Europe! Prior to the 1800s banks privatized ownership and provided long
term loans and more, allowing for the grassroots of infrastructure to develop in
Britain. Conveying the role of banks in infrastructure, Philip Cottrell mentions that
security issues [funds for projects] enabled infrastructure... in Europe starting in the
1830s and around the world in the 1850s (COTTRELL 170). The arrival of a new era
of technology and infrastructure in the 19th century brought also a need for financial

Neil Burger Limitless Analysis
In the visual movie, Limitless , directed by Neil Burger. I was astounded and
inspired by the life of the main character(s), in which dramatic change of success

Outline For Informative Speech On Firearms Essay
PREPARATION OUTLINE FOR INFORMATIVE SPEECH #3
Purpose Statement: To persuade my audience that people who own firearms should
have to register their firearms with law enforcement.
Thesis Statement: People who own firearms are generally responsible and should
have nothing to hide when it comes to firearm safety. They should register their
firearms with the police department in order to help keep society safe.
Attention Getter: Would you feel safer if every gun owner was required to register
their firearms with the police department? Do you think it would make the United
States a safer place? Well, according to a national survey completed in 2011, 66% of
Americans favor laws which would require every gun owner to register each gun they
own.
Overview of Main Points: Having a firearm registration law would potentially lead to
the identification and prosecution of violent criminals. Also, criminals who have
been through the justice system would legally be unable to purchase firearms.
Finally, law enforcement agencies would be better prepared to do their job with
knowledge on what kind of firearms the suspect might have.
1st Transition: Gun registration laws are important and having guns registered with
the local law enforcement agency could lead to the identification and prosecution of
violent criminals.
I.Firearm registration laws can lead to the identification and prosecution of criminals

Essay On Utopian Society
Both 2BR02B by Kurt Vonnegut Jr and The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas
by Ursula Le Guin, depict ideal utopian societies where citizens live in peace and
happiness. However, these societies have flaws that prove to be unideal for life.
Upon closer examination, one sees that these societies function with a set social and
class structure in mind, as well as providing their citizens with a scapegoat for their
problems.
Vonnegut opens his short story, 2BR02B , with a description of the perfect society
saying, There were no prisons, no slums, no insane asylums, no cripples, no poverty,
no wars (Vonnegut 88). The utopian society in 2BR02B has conquered all of these
miseries and more, including old age and all diseases; however, the ... Show more

This child martyr allows life in Omelas to function as a perfect utopia, provided that
there may not even be a kind word spoken to the child (Guins 4). The citizens of
Omelas know that their happiness, the beauty of their city, the tenderness of their
friendships, the health of their children, the wisdom of their scholars, the skill of
their makers, even the abundance of their harvest and the kindly weathers of their
skies, depend wholly on this child s abominable misery (Guins 3). They justify the
beatings and cruelty done to this child by knowing they will always live in a
perfect society, and would rather sacrifice the happiness of the child than the
happiness of the entire population. The relationship of the citizens and the child
corresponds to a set class structure where the wealthy, or upper class, control the
lives of the poor lower class. By refusing to give up their happiness, they take
complete control over the child s life, surrendering to social and class structures.
Dictionaries define utopian societies as societies that possess nearly perfect qualities.
Both 2BR02B and The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas , have utopian societies
as the setting of the stories. The large mural painting of the very neat garden
illustrates the utopian society in 2BR02B (Vonnegut 89). The mural depicts

To Little Women And Treasure Island Critical Analysis
A Critical Analysis and Analogy between Amy s and Jim s Journey Abroad Crucial
to Little Women and Treasure Island is Amy March s and Jim Hawkins journey
abroad which also shows the characters trajectory from innocence to maturity.
Certainly, both novels belong to the sub genre of bildungsroman which is by
definition, a story that depicts a journey from childhood to maturity. In spite of their
different goals and outcomes, it is possible to trace some sort of parallelism
between both journeys as they were indirectly intended to shape their characters in
line with the social norms of that time. First and foremost, in Little Women, Amy s
castle in the air was to be an artist, and go to Rome, and do fine pictures, and be the
best artist in the whole world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

subliminal alternative plan and married the wealthy Laurie. Nevertheless, she sat
her relationship with art as patroness while devoting her own art to the service of

Amy s artistic demon that possessed her for a long time and was depriving her
from being a little woman. Furthermore, she also argues that Amy s voyage has
smoothened her nature and made her more agreeable and this is particularly
evident in her remark that Whenever I see girls struggling along, as we used to do,
I want to put out my hand and help them (Alcott, 2008). Indeed, by contrasting Amy
s earlier selfishness with her selflessness at the end of the novel, it is obvious that
this journey was instrumental in Amy s conversion into a little woman. Nonetheless,
it has also indulged and emphasized her conventionality as evident in her attack on
Laurie in Lazy Laurence. However, in spite of the different goals and outcomes, it is
possible to see a kind of parallel between Amy s and Jim s Journey

The Song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
A song that is based off the existential movement is Unwritten by Natasha
Bedingfield. This song speaks on how no one else (Bedingfield) can choose your
path only you can (Bedingfield) but because you choose your own path, whether it
leads to despair or happiness, you must also take any blame that may be presented no
one can take that for you either. There are many other musicians that have existential
themes in their music and I have noticed that most of existentialismmusic seems to
span from much of the well known literature.
Existentialism is prominently seen in literature through the minds of geniuses like
Kierkegaard, Heidegger and Sartre. The Concept of Anxiety by Kierkegaard helps to
explain the true definition of anxiety and why it exists. Learning to understand
anxiety is an adventure (Kierkegaard). Anxiety is having fear for the unknown, so
there is nothing truly there to fear. (www.uri.edu)The dark causes great fear but the
fear is of something that cannot be seen. The darkness in this case would be the
endless violence and death that swarms the air with its foul stench. Anxiety is seldom
an object of consciousness that we can focus on but more of an inner state of being
which makes it known through conceptual thought. When things such as war or mass
genocide erupt In angst we confront the fundamental precariousness of existence

Cultural Destruction Essay examples
Cultural Destruction
American pop culture can readily been seen in many aspects of American life. Pop
was originally coined to mean popular. While this literal meaning still holds true,
pop culture has spun into a new generation. While pop still describes what is
popular, the term has taken on a negative connotation. Today, the term is used to
describe bands such as the Backstreet Boys and N Sync. Britney Spears has also
been coined as a pop singer. The term pop is often seen as a downfall and indicates
temporary fame. Many pop artists are thought to be just that: pop artists. They do
nothing more than achieve their five minutes of fame and then move on. Pop culture

Music used to convey true emotions and ideas but the music industry has destroyed
these truths in the music. Music used to have meaning and expression. The lyrics of
pop songs simply convey the empty emotion. Bottum writes, The problem begins
with the general failure of lyrics, the incapacity of sung words to introduce and
maintain in music the ideas the music itself lacks (Bottum). The producers are more
concerned with how the words flow with the music instead of the actual content of
the lyrics. The music industry creates a certain sound from the music but the content
is not really important. American pop culture is the intended audience of this music
and so the music industry feeds them the empty songs with a pretty face. If a person
has ever had a song stuck in their head, odds are that they do not really know what
the words mean. They merely regurgitate the hottest chorus from the newest pop song
without really knowing the meanings of the words. We have destroyed the truth in
our music by allowing ourselves to succumb to the music industry s ideas of pop
culture and pop music itself.
The music industry produces these monstrosities that we call pop artists and then

The First World War ( Wwi )
Along history there have been persuasive speakers who through their voices have
changed the world. They have mastered the art of persuasion and became leaders
in order to inspire people to follow them and believe in them, to fight for their
country because of patriotism and honor, and they unite masses for the best for the
humanity and others for the worse. The First World War (WWI) left leaders that
implementing strategic messages dedicated to the people made a paradigm shift by
that time causing a revolutionary change and a tragic and unnecessary conflict, as
Keegan describes the Great War. Leaders in WWI such as David Lloyd George, the
Liberal chancellor of British, Thomas Woodrow Wilson, 28th President of the United
States, and later Adoft Hitler during WWII, are remembered for their persuasive
approaches.
By definition, a persuasive speech is a message strategically designed to induce
change in the audience in some way consistent with the speaker s purpose (Pearson
330). Mrs. Price explains how Aristotle defined three kinds of persuasion furnished:
The first kind, ethos, depends on the personal character of the speaker; the second,
pathos, on appealing to the emotions, values, and beliefs of the audience, and third,
logos, on the proof or logic. Many leaders have mastered the three types before
mentioned and demonstrated that it is an invaluable tool that can change the world.

Pros And Cons Of Living At Home Vs Living On Campus
Almost every new coming freshman face the choice of living at home or living on
campus during the start of their college career. For most college students it is an
easy compromise to move away from home, while for others it really makes no
sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a major step for some
students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages and
disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be
both a positive and negative aspect of one s life. Students choosing to live at home
have an advantage of money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually,
staying with your parents is cheaper than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a
dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The students cannot negotiate
the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next year of
housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent
would kick out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent.
Students would also save a boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies.
Their parents would pay for the food in the house and any necessity that would be
required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or an unlimited
amount of time in the shower. However, with many pros living at home there equally
a number of pros and cons dealing with convenience when students live on campus or

Literature Review On Vaccine
Chapter No: 3
Literature Review:
A vaccine is a basically biological preparation that provides acquired immunity to a
specific disease. A vaccine contains specific antigen that produce specific antibodies
It is often made from weak or killed forms of the microorganism. The antigens

Introduction Mobile Health is defined at the mHealth Summit as any health related
service that is given using a hand held device or mobile type of communication
(Torgan, 2009).
Mobile health (mHealth) technology made an appearance in the early 2000 s with the
personal digital assistant (PDA), most notably the Blackberry (Ventola, 2014). Since
then, the trend has grown remarkably. Experts predict that by 2015, over 500 million
people will be accessing health related applications from their smartphones (Mobile

People are motivated by behaviors and actions. I believe this to be very true; when
I am around smart productive people then I feel smarter and more productive. On
the other hand, when I hang around lazy people then I want to be lazy and not do
anything and this serves as a turning point for slow personal growth. Movement
through Erikson s stages directly affects people s success in the next stage. In a
nutshell, a person must deal with a conflict until it is resolved with the major
events and then they can move on to the next stage in the lifespan successfully.
Both theories are providing valuable information on how a person progresses
through the stages of life and deal with conflict. Freud had some very valid points;
however not everything is related to the basis of sexuality. Erickson explains his
theory in a more articulate manner by expanding on how conflict is present and a
person must resolve them successfully to continue onto the next stage while
formulating a healthy personality to confront and master new challenges during the
lifecycle. For example, while I was growing up, I had experienced many crises as
each stage of my life not that I knew of them back then, but in hindsight I see how
that solving my crisis at each stage influenced my personality, which made me the
successful person I am today. Another example is watching my

Tuberculosis Is The Infectious Disease
Tuberculosis is the infectious disease, that cause mortality worldwide and is the
actual issue for worldwide health system. Tuberculosis (TB) is a communicable
disease, that may presented in an active or a latent form. It affects a various body
systems, but mostly a respiratory system. This disease is triggered by the bacterium
Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is transmitted through the air; therefore, a person gets
infected by an inhaled bacterium from a person with active form of TB, and who is
presented with cough and sneezing. Person with a latent form usually asymptomatic,
whereas the bacteria is inactive in the lungs. On another hand, a person with an

Therefore, any shift in one of the factors causes a change in person s health status
equilibrium (Epidemiological triangle, n.d.). So, access to normal housing, lack of
clean water, diseases like HIV and diabetes and other chronic diseases, the prevalence
of drug resistant TB contribute to higher risk of developing the tuberculosis.
Additionally, the significant influence on tuberculosis development has the social
health determinants. Social determinants of health are the terms in the surrounding
settings in which people are born, live, learn, work, play, and age that impact health,
capabilities, quality of life outputs and health risks. Thus, the age, global inequalities
in social and economic fields, living and environmental conditions, lack of access to
healthy and nutritious food, low financial status, geographic and cultural burdens to
health care access contribute to tuberculosis incidents within the international
communities (Hargreaves et al., 2011).
To promote adequate monitoring and treatment, a population infected with TB has to
be isolated if the TB in active form, should follow medication regimen, and be
compliant with physician treatment plan. Also, the significance of the community
nurses role shouldn t be underestimated in prevention and in controlling TB.
According the CDC (2017) 70% of case detection occurs due to nurses involvement.

Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe s I Became Insane, With...
As stated by Edgar Allen Poe, a prominent gothic author, I became insane, with long
intervals of horrible sanity (Poe). Gothic authors were known for writing about
insanity, but also becoming insane themselves. Poe was one of the authors that were
known for becoming insane after writing about it for so long. Gothic period authors
use terror and horror throughout novels, as well. Gothic literature was written in the
late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. American Gothicism adapted the writing
techniques and from European Gothicism. American authors adapted plots from
others and made them into their own. The movement began by writing about the
terrifying Indians of the frontier (Snodgrass 1). Gothic literature draws on a
combination of terror and romanticism as its foundation. Movement authors
incorporated more psychological aspects into the novels instead of peaceful aspects.
Edgar Allan Poe, Herman Melville and Nathaniel Hawthorne are influential authors of
the movement. The authors incorporate the unique qualities of gothic literature in
their works. In particular, Gothic period author Charles Brockden Brownincorporates
the two characteristics of insanity and an atmosphere of mystery in his novels
Wieland and Edgar Huntley.
Undoubtedly, Gothicism was meant to focus on the darker side of human nature
(Gothic Literature). This literary movement began from authors that believed the
novels in the transcendentalism movement were too optimistic. The readers became
Motivation Of Animals In Mishka The Husky

Animals can provide motivation in many ways. Mishka the Husky can say many

How Social And Political Procedures Affects Resilience At...
This paper has demonstrated and examines how series of social and political
procedure affects resilience at various spatial scales. Resilience is defined as the
ability of individuals or communities to withstand and rebound from sudden natural
disaster [earthquake, flood or hurricane] that accounts for the loss of life and
properties. However, the definition of resilience is broad as resilience thinkers
[Charles Holling and Neil Adger] have argued differently. For example, Holling
defines resilience as the ability of a system to absorb change of state variable,
driving variables, and parameters, and still persist (Holling, 1973), while Adger,
defines resilience as the ability of groups or communities to cope with external
stresses and disturbances as a result of social, political and environmental change
(Adger, 2000). Understandably, thinker like Adger and Holling as Climate Change
thinkers within the academic space have a different opinion to what constitutes the
impact of climatechange and best possible approaches needed towards building
resilience within social and political frameworks.
This paper argues prevalently that, resilience is shaped by social and political
discourse emphasizing on vulnerability and climate change adaptation methods such
as Livelihood and Economic Diversification (LED) and Community based adaptation
(CBA). The essay further argues that resilience is debated at multi levels [local, state,
and global] but global policy makers often dominate the
My Role Model In My Life
Most life changing events happen with someone whom you truly trust. It is easy to
ignore people, withdraw, and not form relationships built on love and reliance. I
have truly grown closer to my role model in my life. Matt Harp, my role model, is a
man of truth, integrity, love, selflessness, and compassion. Many different times he
surprised me with how he acted, spoke and thought. I clearly saw the Lordlead his
life, and his actions revealed as much. I wanted to follow his example. He led me
through junior high, what was definitely the toughest part of my life. Looking
back, I can only imagine what would have happened in my life if I had not grown
to trust this honorable man. There are many different times where Matt taught me
a life lesson, but these three are the most prominent. He taught me how to be
unique, be yourself, always be willing to share, and to never give up, even when
you are tired. As a groovy guy, my small group leader always wore what the coolest
clothes. I loved to talk to him about it. I said I love your style. Where do you buy
your clothes? Many different times, I wore similar clothes to him. I started
wearing unique socks, colored jeans, and many other things. He took more notice
than I realized. One day he took me aside and said You don t have to live exactly
like someone else, you just need to be you. He insisted, saying don t just copy me
because you like the way that I dress, find your own groove. I took these small
statements to heart.
Medical Tourism Industry
Medical Tourism Industry Advantage India C.B. Venkata Krishna Prasad* Traveling
abroad for health is not a new phenomenon. Medical tourism is actually thousands of
years old. In ancient Greece, pilgrims and patients came from all over the
Mediterranean to the sanctuary of the healing god, asklepios; the god of healing was
located at Epidaurus. In roman Britain, patients took the waters at a shrine at bath, a
practice that continued for 2,000 years. During 18th century wealthy Europeans used
to visit health resorts in North Africa. But in the past seven years or so, the
movement has accelerated sharply. It is growing rapidly and turning out to be an
immense business opportunity for nations which have the strategic advantage of

confederation of Indian industry (cii) and Mckinsey consultants says that in 2005
around 150,000 foreigners visited India for medial treatment and number is rising
by 15 percent every year. CII says that India has the potential to attract 1 million
medical tourists per annum and this could contribute around us $ 5 billion to the
economy. In many developing countries it is being actively promoted by the
government s official policy. India s national health policy 2002, for example,
says: to capitalize on the comparative cost advantage enjoyed by domestic health
facilities in the secondary and tertiary sector, the policy will encourage the supply
of services to patients of foreign origin on payment. The rendering of such services
on payment in foreign exchange will be treated as deemed exports and will be made
eligible for all fiscal incentives extended to export earnings . The formulation draws
from recommendations that the corporate sector has been making in India and
specifically from the Conference on Global Competition

  • 1. Buy Nothing Day Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "Buy Nothing Day" can present its own set of challenges. While the concept may seem straightforward at first glance, delving into the intricacies of consumerism, societal norms, and the potential impact of a day dedicated to abstaining from purchases requires careful consideration. One challenge lies in striking the right balance between presenting a persuasive argument and maintaining an unbiased tone. Discussing the merits and drawbacks of a day devoted to refraining from buying can be a delicate task, requiring a nuanced exploration of economic, environmental, and personal perspectives. You have to know you direct bosses left and right limits. If you learn this lesson early, it will keep you out of trouble and you will be more successful in your career. I had to learn this lesson the hard way as a new maintenance test pilot at my unit. We were a Kiowa Warrior unit and had a problem with the IVHUMS on one of our aircraft. After two days of our guys looking in the books to find the answer, I called another maintenance test pilot in our state. I thought this would be ok, because he was from our state. • 3. Right To Write Literature About War Analysis Who has the right to write literature about war? Who has the right to write literature about war? When I first read the question it elicited strong feelings of ownership from me. Having been in combat myself I felt that no one could properly capture the emotions and experiences one goes through during those moments unless you have directly participated in them. I felt that only those of us that have been in combat should report or write about it. How could someone that had never experienced combat truly grasp what it is like? How could they properly convey the sounds and the smells, the feeling of almost losing your life so you can take another s? Trying to describe what combat is like to people that have never participated in it is a losing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As I sat down to write this essay I tried to remove my emotional response to the question and think about it from the perspective of someone that hasn t been in combat. Why wouldn t someone want to write about war? As we have learned this week through Bierce s works some of the most gallant and noble scenes human beings can participate in happen through the act of war. It brings out the absolute best and worst in man often in the same moment. The problem for me is that when we write so often we draw on our own personnel experiences to help communicate that story, if I want to write a love story I will draw on my own experiences with love. If I want to write a story about family I can use the way I am raising my own as a baseline for the feelings and emotions I am trying to give to the reader. War is so outside of the normal human experience that it takes a very talented writer to breach this experience without ever having lived it. Some writers have attempted to interview veterans and use those stories as there baseline for what they are writing. This in my opinion can work to a point but falls short due the writer using the emotions that these interviews illicit in them, not what the person they are interviewing actually experienced. I believe that anyone has the right to write about war, but the writer should use extreme caution in the telling of these

But since it is labeled as a lifestyle disease, many people, both lay people and experts, only look at overweight and obese individual s lifestyles and criticizes them. But not to look at wider possibilities that could be having a great influence on this epidemic (Warwick Booth, Cross, and Lowcock, 2012). This can be seen in how people talk about obesity and also obese and overweight people. It also affects how people try to solve this problem. The most popular view about how obesity is formed and why it is increasing is that people are eating a lot more food or more calorically dense foods and not exercising enough. Which is true, people are not as active or eating as healthily as before. This could be due to more busy lifestyles where people cannot work out as much or prepare healthy meals at home so they eat out. • 13. Globalization Of Globalization Is the international political economy more globalized today than in 2000? One could argue that the groundwork for such a phenomenon has been soundly laid by the post World War machinations that generated entities such as the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. No doubt, events such as the terror attack, a particularly nasty form of globalization, that occurred on September 11th, 2001, raised awareness of globalization in general as we realized that a plot conceived in Afghanistan, Germany, and elsewhere could be brought to fruition within our own borders. (Keohane :2004) Certainly, technological innovations like the smartphone, social media, and e commerce have enriched the already fertile global ground that brought forth a level of global interdependence, shared knowledge, and communication laying the groundwork for what is now referred to as the age of globalization. (Scholte :2000) However, much of this may have facilitated the process, but most certainly fueled global perception of the reality of an enmeshed economic, political, and social system. Whatever the case may be with the preceding, the globalization of international political economy is evident as problems from weakened states, decreasing political autonomy, and powerful non state actors now shape international economic, political, and social spheres alongside to the consternation of the global political hegemony. Also, this generation is more centered on technology, compared to previous generations, which explains the shift in focus on the dangers in the world. Another way my perspective changed was by seeing the statements and reactions of the parents. Majority of the parents in the documentary were overprotective, which only gave one side of the debate. Although there were a few exceptions of parents stories that were lenient in their parenting style, most of the documentary was one sided. I was surprised that Mark Miller did not film the reactions of overprotective parents after the findings in his documentary. Nevertheless, she sat her relationship with art as patroness while devoting her own art to the service of the family. According to Holly Blackford (2011), Amy s journey abroad eliminated Amy s artistic demon that possessed her for a long time and was depriving her from being a little woman. Furthermore, she also argues that Amy s voyage has smoothened her nature and made her more agreeable and this is particularly evident in her remark that Whenever I see girls struggling along, as we used to do, I want to put out my hand and help them (Alcott, 2008). Indeed, by contrasting Amy s earlier selfishness with her selflessness at the end of the novel, it is obvious that this journey was instrumental in Amy s conversion into a little woman. Nonetheless, it has also indulged and emphasized her conventionality as evident in her attack on Laurie in Lazy Laurence. However, in spite of the different goals and outcomes, it is possible to see a kind of parallel between Amy s and Jim s Journey

There are many other musicians that have existential themes in their music and I have noticed that most of existentialismmusic seems to span from much of the well known literature. Existentialism is prominently seen in literature through the minds of geniuses like Kierkegaard, Heidegger and Sartre. The Concept of Anxiety by Kierkegaard helps to explain the true definition of anxiety and why it exists. Learning to understand anxiety is an adventure (Kierkegaard). Anxiety is having fear for the unknown, so there is nothing truly there to fear. (www.uri.edu)The dark causes great fear but the fear is of something that cannot be seen. The darkness in this case would be the endless violence and death that swarms the air with its foul stench. Anxiety is seldom an object of consciousness that we can focus on but more of an inner state of being which makes it known through conceptual thought. Today, the term is used to describe bands such as the Backstreet Boys and N Sync. Britney Spears has also been coined as a pop singer. The American music industry forces music into popularity based on trivial, vain criteria instead of true talent. Music used to convey true emotions and ideas but the music industry has destroyed these truths in the music. Music used to have meaning and expression. The lyrics of pop songs simply convey the empty emotion. Bottum writes, The problem begins with the general failure of lyrics, the incapacity of sung words to introduce and maintain in music the ideas the music itself lacks (Bottum). The producers are more concerned with how the words flow with the music instead of the actual content of the lyrics. The music industry creates a certain sound from the music but the content is not really important. American pop culture is the intended audience of this music and so the music industry feeds them the empty songs with a pretty face. If a person has ever had a song stuck in their head, odds are that they do not really know what the words mean. They merely regurgitate the hottest chorus from the newest pop song without really knowing the meanings of the words. We have destroyed the truth in our music by allowing ourselves to succumb to the music industry s ideas of pop culture and pop music itself. The music industry produces these monstrosities that we call pop artists and then forces the American people to like

For most college students it is an easy compromise to move away from home, while for others it really makes no sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a major step for some students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages and disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be both a positive and negative aspect of one s life. Students choosing to live at home have an advantage of money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually, staying with your parents is cheaper than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The students cannot negotiate the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next year of housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent would kick out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent. Students would also save a boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies. Their parents would pay for the food in the house and any necessity that would be required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or an unlimited amount of time in the shower. However, with many pros living at home there equally a number of pros and cons dealing with convenience when students live on campus or at home. Students

In a nutshell, a person must deal with a conflict until it is resolved with the major events and then they can move on to the next stage in the lifespan successfully. Both theories are providing valuable information on how a person progresses through the stages of life and deal with conflict. Freud had some very valid points; however not everything is related to the basis of sexuality. Erickson explains his theory in a more articulate manner by expanding on how conflict is present and a person must resolve them successfully to continue onto the next stage while formulating a healthy personality to confront and master new challenges during the lifecycle. This paper has demonstrated and examines how series of social and political procedure affects resilience at various spatial scales. Resilience is defined as the ability of individuals or communities to withstand and rebound from sudden natural disaster [earthquake, flood or hurricane] that accounts for the loss of life and properties. However, the definition of resilience is broad as resilience thinkers [Charles Holling and Neil Adger] have argued differently. For example, Holling defines resilience as the ability of a system to absorb change of state variable, driving variables, and parameters, and still persist (Holling, 1973), while Adger, defines resilience as the ability of groups or communities to cope with external stresses and disturbances as a result of social, political and environmental change (Adger, 2000). Understandably, thinker like Adger and Holling as Climate Change thinkers within the academic space have a different opinion to what constitutes the impact of climatechange and best possible approaches needed towards building resilience within social and political frameworks. This paper argues prevalently that, resilience is shaped by social and political discourse emphasizing on vulnerability and climate change adaptation methods such as Livelihood and Economic Diversification (LED) and Community based adaptation (CBA).
