Bouncers is a comical, yet serious dive into urban nightlife. The actors use multi role
to play a variety of different characters with hilarious results. Throughout the updated
version of the play, John Godber (original writer and director) highlighted his
intentions through Lucky Eric s daunting monologues; we still drink too much as a
society today. Nonetheless, the dated stereotypes and the use of Frank Sinatra and
Thriller did make the play feel slightly dated.
The play list seemed to be the most updated part of Bouncers; the current music,

The steps used coming down the platform and going up was a great way for the
actors to show their characterisation; for example, Sexy Susie (Bhatti) had great
trouble coming down the steps in her killer heels whilst Ralph (Bhatti) took each step
casually but eloquently.
Ilkley, Reddington, Bhatti and Gilet executed the Brechtian style of acting almost
perfectly. They immediately alienated the audience from feeling any kind of
emotional connection to the characters; we were introduced at the very beginning
and were constantly reminded of who was who through heightened gestures, vocal
changes and direct address. However, Lucky Eric s daunting monologues, delivered
perfectly by Ian Reddington, gave us some sort of emotional connection with the
play itself. Godber uses Brecht s style for more of a comic effect as opposed to
snatching away emotional connection. The four actors changed from role to role
excellently with clear characterisation; Bhatti did outstandingly well in changing
from the high pitched and very girly, Sexy Susie to the low pitched, macho
aggressive bouncer, Ralph.
The use of ASYLUM, older actors and Yorkshire accents suggests that John Godber
had a very heavy input. The original Bouncers, first performed in 1977, was set in

character is used to represent the intellectual side of man and act almost like an adult
figure to the boys. There are many things that he does and that Golding says to
support this. Three things come to mind that represent his place in the novel; he is a
clear thinker, his appearance, and his symbolic losses throughout the book. Right
off the beginning we see evidence of Piggy #8217;s thinking ability. He realizes the

When he tries to get his glasses back he his murdered by a small boy that could
barely through a rock at someone in chapter 4. The boy rolled a boulder down on
him, striking him and killing him. At the same time the conch, which symbolized
the traditional system of authority so cherished by Piggy, was crushed. These

nations and nations who are not grows constantly, and if a country hopes to bridge
the growing gap they must advance quickly. As with any other growth, growing
pains are routine. Among others is the pain of the existence of generations whose
world is changed completely over the course of a lifetime. In few places is this
effect starker than in Japan s modern history, a country whose traditional ideals had
to find a way to adapt modern westernized ideals to a historically traditional nation in
a small amount of time. This era, the Meiji Restoration, put Japan through their
growing pains and pushed the country to compete on the global level. Natsume
Soseki offers a character whose relationships in the novel Kokoro are analogous to
the progression and end of this Meiji era and how it effected the individual and
their perceptions of change. Sensei is a character whose life and relationships offer
a full range of understanding of the difficulties caused by the changing times.
Though it is not apparent exactly when he was born, it s clear that it was between

Abstract Electricity is not just an option for passenger cars. Hybrid and all electric
technologies are moving into delivery trucks, garbage trucks, and tractor trailers, as
well as into other more out of sight vehicles, all of which literally help keep our
economy moving. For these medium and heavy duty trucks, the goals of
electrification are the same as with cars: reducing pollution, oil consumption (in
trucks, usually diesel fuel), and fuel costs. Expanding the use of electrification
technologies is a key strategy for doubling the fuel efficiency of trucks and for
helping to cut our nation s projected oil consumption in half over the next 20 years. In
2010, freight hauling trucks consumed 2.3 million barrels of oil per day more than
we currently import from the Persian Gulf and emitted 348 million metric tons of
carbon dioxide.

Through thick and thin, Catholicism has been around for quite a long time. With
millions of followers from around the globe, it has grown to become one of the
largest religious faiths. Every single one of these Christians has their own unique
story about how their faith has significantly affected their lives. In his book,
George Weigel shares his experience as a Catholic growing up in late 1950 s and
1960 s in Baltimore. On page 9 of his book Letters to a Young Catholic , he says
The real Catholic difference ... was, at bottom, a way of seeing the world (Weigel
9). This means that what separates a Catholic from the rest is our experience and
knowledge of God, through which we are given the power to experience the world
differently than most others can. I do feel this way as well. Being Catholic, I feel

Throughout WW2, the Nazis conducted many experiments on prisoners in the
concentration camps. The experiments were extremely brutal to the persons being
experimented on. Many of these doctors used their authority to justify the means of
their research , endangering thousands of people of all ages. Many, if not all, of the
experiments were conducted for the supposed benefit of the German army.
