The next, altruistic suicide, is the complete opposite of egoistic suicide. A person who commits
altruistic suicide thinks that the larger group is more important than he is. All things of the
larger group take precedent over the individual which leads to suicide. We discussed honorable
suicide under this category and one thing still bothers me from that discussion. Our humble
narrator gave the example of a soldier jumping on a grenade as a form of honorable suicide. I
disagree with this statement. I would argue that this is not a form of suicide but a form of training.
This man or woman is trained to give his life for his country. It isn t logical to think that the person
jumping on the grenade thinks that he is committing suicide. Aside from that aspect, I feel that I
understand this form of suicide the most. I think that being overlooked by the dominant group can
lead to a person taking their own life. There are numerous times where we have seen on the news
about the kid no one paid attention to taking his or her own life.
Next, there is anomic suicide. This idea was the hardest for me to understand because it seems to
go against logic at first. My interpretation of anomic is that a person has to have a set amount or

released into the atmosphere are from the combustion of fossil fuels. So, industrial combustion is
the primary culprit of such COв‚‚ production (West, 2009).
Consequentially, such carbon based gases pollute the air near the earth s surface , create smog,
and increase the amounts of atmospheric greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming as

ventral rami of his lumbar spine is causing his femoral nerve to not properly work on his right leg.
4. Prediction: I predict that he has a herniated lumbar disk on L3 or L4 caused by improper lifting
and due to his increased age, which has made his bones more brittle. Consequently, I predict he will
experience some weakness in his right leg, when he is standing or trying to lift something.
Consequently, he will experience pain since the dorsal horn compressed along with the ventral
horned being compressed.
5. Test: The tests we perform is an MRI of his lumbar spine, and I also want to test his skin
sensations via a prick test on his leg to see if the dorsal root ganglia of his L3 or L4 is damaged,
since right now it just appears that his ventral root of his L3 or L4 is damaged since he has a muscle
weakness suggesting that the right ventral horn is being compressed by the right lumber vertebrae
body.
6. Conclusion: Yes, he has a herniated disk on L3 which was confirmed by the MRI showed that
he had a herniated nucleus pulposus of the L3 disc and he had some mild sensation loss in his
right leg. A herniated disk is a disk that has slipped or ruptured. Herniated discs are more common
as one gets older since the bones become more brittle overtime prone to rupture under stress such

discoveries were made in the realm of science and technology which lead to the atomic age. One
of the leading pioneers in the area of physics was Enrico Fermi. Without his contributions, the
atomic bomb may not have been developed or would have possibly been postponed. Enrico
Fermi was born into a family who had enough money to live comfortably. Fermi was born in
Rome on the 29th of September,1901, the son of Alberto Fermi, a Chief Inspector of the Ministry
of Communications, and Ida de Gattis (Mawson 12). Although he had a comfortable life, he also

His family had enough money to send him to college but he was still able to get scholarships for
his academic achievement. He won a fellowship of the Scuola Normale Superiore in 1918. He
spent four years at the University of Pisa, gaining his doctoral degree in physics in 1922 #8230;

worked out his first theory of permanent value to physics. He also attended the Universities of
Rome, Leiden and Gottingen. His only setback was a period of post doctoral study in Germany in
1923 among such talents such as Wolfgang Pauli and Werner Heisenberg when his talents went
unrecognized (154). He preferred simplicity and concreteness rather than pretension and the
philosophic German style. J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theorist, later described Fermi as
not a philosopher and unable to let things be foggy. He had a passion for clarity. After Fermi
graduated, he went straight to work. He began teaching at different universities. He taught at the
University of Florence from 1924
to 1926 and at the University of Rome from 1927 to 1938 (Epstein 87). At the age of 25, he was
