Disturb The Universe In The Chocolate War
Do I dare disturb the universe? This was the message posted inside Jerry s locker in the Novel
The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. Like Jerry, many others have disturbed the universe.
Disturbing the universe can occur in many forms as well. Adolf Hitler, like Jerry, is a prime
example of someone who disturbed the universe. Both Jerry Renault and Adolf Hitler are guilty of
disturbing the universe through revolting, never giving up, and not going down without a fight.
Both of these figures influenced their respective universes in a strong way. Both Jerry and Hitler
revolted against their superiors . This disturbed the universe by standing up to those in power,
causing a power shift. Jerry Renault opposed the Vigils of Trinity High School... Show more content

Jerry refused to give into the Vigils hazing. This was another upset in power due to the superiors
in the universe being unable to control an inferior. He refused to give up and kept on fighting
them at football, never giving into their tough hits, along with him not selling the chocolates.
Would you ask Renault why he isn t selling the chocolates like everybody else , Jerry paused,
face flushed. It s a free country... (Cormier 148).This quote shows how strong and resilient Jerry
was to keep from selling the chocolates. This leads to the hazing and the Vigils trying to
rebalance the power. Much like Jerry, Hitler was resilient. Hitler was tough while opposing the
Allied Powers. Although his intentions were much different to Jerry s, he still stood up to a
superior power and did not give up. He continued his quest for world domination and even
brought Germany back to power. Germany was in ruins after WWI and its economy was
annihilated. The value of a loaf of bread went from 250 marks in January 1923 to 200 trillion in
November... (XXXXXXXXX) Hitler brought Germany back to power and in a condition to fight in
WWII against superior powers. Both Jerry and Hitler did not give up through adverse times and

Hinduism In Life Of Pi
Out of the three religions that Pi practiced, he was more adapted more into Hinduism owing to the
fact that he was born into to it, and one can see he sincerely and openly believed the Hinduism
creed more than any of the others he studied, which is one of the main reasons he survived his
ordeal.
In Martel s book Life of Pi, the main character Piscine Molitor studied three different religions, one
of those being Hinduism; the world s third largest religion following Christianity and Islam (
Hinduism ). The Hinduism faith emerged around the year 1500 BC, and it flourished all around
the world, but mainly in the country where Pi was located India ( Hinduism ). Hindus believe that
all creatures are sacred, and should be protected; which explains why most Hindus are vegetarians,
including Piscine ( Hinduism ). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pi was born into the Hinduism, becoming involved in its rites and rituals as an infant ( Life of
Pi ). One of the rituals of being a Hindu is believing that all animals are sacred. For Pi, being
stranded out on the Pacific Ocean, this was a problem for him. Pi had no other source of food
except for the few packages on the lifeboat, which were quickly running out. Pi hesitates to kill one
of flying fish that land on his lifeboat, but the lifelong pacifist and vegetarian breaks the fish s
neck ( Life of Pi ). It was hard for Pi to hurt the fish and then he remembered a story from the
Hindu religion of Markandeya and falling out of Vishnu s mouth into the universe. This inspired
him to see how small and meaningless his suffering actually was. (Martel). So his faith in
Hinduism was a double sided sword in which he found more light than darkness

The Effects Of Energy Subsidies On The Consumer, The...
Abstract Subsidies are one of the most powerful policy tools in the hands of the government. They
have been used for decades to achieve a range of economic, social and environmental objectives.
Indeed, one of the most important and challenging responsibilities of a government is allocating
financial resources to achieve public good. This paper analyses the effects of energy subsidies on
the consumer, the economy and the energy industry. Energy subsidies are any government actions
that support the cost of energy production in terms of reduction in prices paid by consumers and
increase in revenues to energy producers (World Bank, 2010). These investments aim to improve
energy access by making prices more affordable, shielding domestic consumers from international
price volatility and supporting energy intensive industries (The International Institute for
sustainable development, 2012).In practice, energy subsidies come in different forms. (The IEA,
2002) and (UNEP, 2008) identify the following typical mechanisms by which governments support
the production and consumption of energy: Direct financial transfers: grants to consumers, grants
to producers, low interest or preferential loans and government loan guarantees; Preferential tax
treatment: tax credits, tax rebates, exemptions on royalties, duties or tariffs, reduced tax rates,
deferred tax liabilities and accelerated depreciation on energy supply equipment; Trade restrictions:
tariffs, tariff rate import quotas

Pain Recovery Proposal
On 4/25/18 I met Ms. Bambrick for her follow up an appointment with Psychiatrist Dr.
Hillenberg. Ms. Bambrick wants a provider to work with her in coping with the life changing the
aspect of this injury and recovery and coordinating her pain medications during her recovery.
Her goal is to reduce her pain and her pain medication needs at some point. Unfortunately, Dr.
Hillenberg is going to retire and is focusing more on the management end of his practice. He did,
however, make some recommendations. Ms. Bambrick needs a psychiatrist and a psychologist
who will work with her PCP Dr. Horrigan in managing her pain medications. He is providing her
with a pain recovery workbook, that will have daily tasks for her to follow. He spoke with her about
diet and foods to avoid.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also recommended at some point when her physical therapist feels she is ready to join the
adapted therapeutic yoga program that meets weekly. They have found that yoga, mindful
breathing along with a Tia Chi program help with pain control. Ms. Bambricks private health
insurance has given approval for an extended number of physical therapy session so that is
decreasing her stress and worry regarding that. Her being able to attend physical therapy
consistently has helped to improve the range of motion of her cervical spine and upper body
strength. She continues to use a walker for the right drop foot and the left ankle weakness. The
numbness she has to the left side of her body continues, along with the right wrist pain and
weakness. The attendant care and transportation services have made a great impact on her
attendance to her therapy and medical appointments. Our next appointment will be with

Consider The Lobster By David Foster Wallace Analysis
American Novelist, essayist and short story author David Foster Wallace uses his essay Consider
the Lobster to tell the reader about his thought provoking visit to the Maine Lobster Festival.
Wallace wrote this essay to show his thought process dealing with the moral ambiguity of cooking
lobster, and the research he did to further understand the subject. He primarily uses an informational
tone with a heavy emphasis on pathos. He does a fairly good job remaining unbiased and showing
the counterarguments.
Wallace was sent to the Maine LobsterFestival by Gourmet Magazine, he was tasked simply to
write about his experience there. He took this as an opportunity and decided that the risk he was
taking in posing this question to the readers of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following this point he points out that perhaps lobsters understand pain but they don t dislike it
and how pain is not distressing them (Wallace 63). He reinstates the fact that there is a clear
difference in pain as a purely neurological event from pain as actual suffering , the latter requiring
an emotional component (Wallace 36). Later on he states that this means that although lobster s
experience pain it is not a struggle based on discomfort but more of a preference. More akin to
you preferring to sit in a certain spot around the table. These are used to inform the reader of the
physical aspects of the lobster that affect the overall moral ambiguity of the subject.
In his closing statements he takes the time to throw some more thought provoking sentences in,
calling out a part of being a real gourmet (Wallace 64). Wallace wonders if future generations
might look back and see our current eating practices similarly to how we see tribal sacrifices
today. I see this as an extreme analogy but it has its use in this essay, it brings out the thought that
perhaps we should take a step back from our food and think about

Early Life Stages Of Aging Essay
Aging is a biological process by gradual deterioration of the physiological functions and
metabolic processes. (Hilaire Bakala et al 2012) Exposure to stressful situations during early life
can have intense health consequences and is impaired throughout life. However some cases of
this impact do not become evident until much later in life or decades later, when the individuals
begin to show signs of accelerated ageing. (Katherine A. et al 2014). While understanding the
relationship between early life and longevity has important implications in the field of aging, we
have still little information about the mechanisms involved in the prolonged times scales of stress
aging. A stress can stimulate various pathways leading to increased production of the reactive
oxygen species (ROS) it is well known that are highly reactive and capable of damaged many
biological macro molecules such as DNA, RNA, Proteins, and Lipids (Govinda Rao 1989; Tian et
al 1998). The accumulation of oxidative damaged molecules may cause genetic mutation and
cellular senescence (Tian et al 1998). Several data indicates that mitochondria are mostly affected

The Causes of Migraines
Migraines
Migraine, Medical condition that many people have to deal with. This is how to identify the
signs of a migraine, what a migraine simply is, what happens during a migraine attack, triggers
and how to diagnose it. The cause of a migraine could be many different things. This research
paper could help out a lot pf people who may have not yet experienced a migraine attack. A
migraine attack is one of the hardest illnesses to diagnose but a migraine could also lead to other
things more severe.
A migraine? Migraines, severe painful headaches often proceeded or accompanied by sensory
warning signs such as flashes of light, blind spots, tingling in the arms and legs, nausea, vomiting,
and increased sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine headaches result from a combination of blood
vessel enlargement and the release of chemicals from nerve fibers that coil around the blood vessel.
This then causes the sympathetic nervous system to respond with nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting.
These migraine headaches are commonly misdiagnosed as tension type headaches or sinus
headaches. During the headache, an artery enlarges that is located on the outside of the skull just
under the skin of the temple. This causes a release of chemicals that cause inflammation, pain, and
further enlargement of the artery. (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Migraine)
What triggers a migraine? A person physically or emotionally under stress can trigger a migraine.

David Berman s Snow
In the poem Snow by David Berman, it has a unique setting to it sorta. They re two characters,
David and his little brother, Seth. David in his poem talks about how he explains to his brother
about how snow angels are made. Also why they re made that way instead of him just telling his
brother the actual truth.
The setting is in the winter there is no time. However, it was outside in the field near some water
which was frozen. The setting is significant because the poem is called snow. Plus it talks about
snow angels which again involves snow. Snow only happens in the winter which should tell you
the setting is winter. Not only that but they say in the poem the water was frozen which is also
another way of saying it s winter. Water freezes

To Live is to Be : Existentialism in Heart of Darkness, Lord Jim, and The Importance of Being
Earnest During the modernist era of literature; a recurrent theme was prevalent in their works of
art. The idea of existentialism revolving around the notion that you first experience life before
you can begin to exist and understand yourself. This ideology stemmed from the main fear of the
era; the end of the century. The fear of the unknown; the fear of what was to come in the
following century (if it came) allowed for this ideology. When you believe time is running out, it

They, above the Council in Europe, you know mean him to be (29). Throughout the entire trip
people keep praising Kurtz (except the general manager) and this prepares Marlow for a very
impressionable first impression. Marlow keeps thinking about Kurtz as this ideal man in the
dark jungle. This of course is all shattered when Marlow meets him. Marlow, having hoped to
meet someone who would not have been corrupted by the exposure of the jungle, meets Kurtz
near death. This is moment of meeting is crucial for Marlow because it is turning point for his
ideals. They meet the harsh truth that even the most idealistic, charismatic ones can be corrupted.
Marlow loses his faith in his home and everything they represent because when he goes back,
Marlow refuses to speak with people. He walks around disenchanted by the propaganda that
Europe spews about Africa; and he is embittered that the people back home can not see through it.
This shows how experiences shape who you become and how you identify in the world because
that is the difference between Marlow and the common person back home: Marlow experience the
Congo firsthand and therefore will always identify with those events. Similarly, Kurtz s values and
perception of himself change through the realization of his final moments in his iconic last words:
the horror, the horror (116). Kurtz, although having started off as

Literary Analysis of David and Goliath
A Character Analysis of David and Goliath When studying any piece of literature there are many
different methods and techniques that can be used. The Bible, in specific, is often referred to as
a source of moral code, hope, and answers to social, ethical, and political questions. However,
this incredibly influential book can also be read as if it were any other novel. The events,
settings, and characters can all be evaluated for what they are, forgetting the notion that they are
from a religious text. This approach is called narrative criticism. When regarding to the Bible in
this way, we do not need to know any historical information or focus on seeking a deeper
theological meaning. Instead, the stories are evaluated in terms of how... Show more content on

At this point, it is hard to side with either the Philistines or the Israelites since neither show
desirable qualities. Goliath, though strong and powerful, shows nothing beyond that. He shows
no faith in God and is entirely dependant on his fancy armor and swords. Goliath has no other
source of strength other than his physical stature and possessions. David, on the other hand, is
depicted as a character that is lacking brute strength and weaponry. We are told through the
voice of Goliath that he is only a youth, ruddy and handsome in appearance (1 Samuel 17: 42). It
is evident that David is meant to appear as an average kid with no exceedingly superior or
spectacular qualities. This simple portrayal of David is significant because it sets in motion the
development of realistic empathy from the implied reader towards David. It is important for the
implied reader to feel empathetic towards David because even though David kills Goliath in the
end, we are meant to view him as a hero, not a murder. Building a connection between the implied
reader and David makes this possible. Though David represents a seemingly common boy at the
time, he has several qualities that make him stand out. However, these character traits are never
simply told to us. Instead, the implied author uses David s actions, decisions, and beliefs to

Mental Illness In Macbeth
Shakespeare, Browning, and Carol Ann Duffy attempt to display their characters in such ways in
order to address heavy social issues within the times in which they were alive, through various
writing techniques.
It is important that we define the term disturbed in order to answer this question to high quality
standard. An adjective that describes the symptoms of mental illness, and psychosis. All traits of
which the writers characters possess.
Shakespeare evidentially displays Macbeths committing regicide in order to address the
consequences of treason towards the reader. Regicide was considered more than just murder back
in Shakespearian time; it could be compared to killing a God. Shakespeare deservingly uses the

The use of guilt and sin must have been eccentric for Shakespeare, living amongst such a religious
audience, and yet writes so powerfully to which was seen against the words of God. Macbeth s sins
plunge him into a pit of guilt, leading him to an unstable state of mind, contributing to his disturbed
mind set. This slightly contrasts to Carol Ann Duffy s Education for Leisure as the orator doesn
t seem to feel any guilt or sympathy for the sins in which he has committed, unlike Macbeth who
to which changed his attitude., One cried, God bless us! and Amen, the other, as they had seen
me with these hangman s hands. List ning their fear, I could not say Amen, when they did say
God bless us . Methought, I heard a voice cry, Sleep no more! Macbeth does murder sleep . This
quote is spoken to which by Macbeth after he is finished murdering King Duncan, the phrase
Macbeth does murder sleep cunningly refers to how Macbeth will suffer horribly from his
actions by his guilt. The insomnia that Macbeth suffers displays how he is uncomfortable after
making a decision to try and claim his manhood. Robert Browning The laboratory contrasts
immensely to Macbeth, as the orator gets pleasure out of the sins in which he/she has
committed. Furthermore to which goes against the belief of God, Empty church, to pray God
in, for them! I am here so to which, his sins have no meaning, which means there is no barrier
blocking him from gaining his pleasure from his doings. However it does slightly link in with
another one of Robert Browning s pieces Porphyria s lover , it is clearly evident that the orator
has no sympathy what so ever for his victim, which he strangles to death, seen as one of the most
painful ways to die, but in order to cover his sins he try s to persuade himself that it was a happy

The Psychological Effects Of Smoking
One thing that smoking affects that a lot of people do not think about is how it affects the people
around the smoker, not only in a physical way but emotionally also. According to a study, kids
whose parents smoke are three times more likely to smoke when they get older. If smokers have
kids, smoking around them increases their risk of having ear infections, asthma and other breathing
problems that include coughs, shortness of breath, and even bronchitis. It s not just children that
are at risk of lung and heart problems, it s every person around a smoker that are put at risk due to
secondhand smoke. Secondhand smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals. Hundreds of them being
toxic and 70 have shown to cause cancerin humans. Breathing in secondhand smoke has been
shown to have instant effects on the cardiovascular system of nearby individuals, whether it s from
a neighbor s burning cigaretteor from a cigarette outside your window. Over time, it takes a toll
on people s lungs and has been found to increase the risk of having a stroke by 20 30%
(Quitterscircle). Smoking also has an impact on pets and animals. Exposure to secondhand smoke
for dogs increases the risk of them getting lung cancer and nasal cancer, especially long nosed
dogs like greyhounds. Cats that are exposed to secondhand smoke are more than three times as
likely to non Hodgkin s lymphoma. They may also suffer from asthma or lung cancer. Secondhand

Computer And Computer Science
In today s society, computers and computer science play a large role in everyday life whether it be
at work, at school or during personal time. In this paper the history of the computer, the science of
them and its incorporation into school will be explored. The topic that the exploration will start
with is the history of the Computer and computer science between 1936, starting with Alan Turing
and his Universal Turing Machine, leading through Bell Laboratory and all the advances through
and into present day. This will lead into the connection between the computer and education and
how education was changed with the incorporation of computers. The final part explains the
problems that has surrounded computers and the study of computer science since their creations
and how the solutions were formed over the years and how they continue to change the face of
computer science, like the first models being as large as small buildings or a more recent issue of
the limited diversity of computer science. Without computers and computer science, schooling
today would be very much different than it is today. Computers have an extensive history in
education and the goal of this paper is to present that information. In 1936 one the first concept of a
computer was developed by Alan Turing, the Universal Turing Machine(UTM). Before Turing,
there were only theories about computing machines that could do simple calculations but there
were not any functioning models. However

Elizabethan Music
Music During The Elizabethan Era
During the reign of Queen Elizabeth the First (1558 1603), English art and culture reached a high
point known as the top of the English renaissance. Elizabethan music experienced a change in
popularity from sacred to non religious music and the rise of instrumental music. Experienced
musicians were hired by the Church of England, the wealthy, and rising middle class. Queen
Elizabeth I greatly enjoyed music and played the lute and virginal herself. She also believed that
dancing was a great form of physical activity and hired musicians to play for her while she
danced. While she was queen, she employed about 70 musicians and her interests were to be
adopted by those she ruled over. All noblemen were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were equal to a modern town s band. The role of the Waits was to perform at public events
that would be viewed by the town and were supposed to play original composed music.
Street musicians or travelling minstrels were frowned upon. They were often feared by the
community and grew out of style when they were replaced by tavern and theatre musicians. Street
music was often heard at markets and fairs, and was usually light and quick. They performed using
instruments such as fiddles, lutes, recorders, and small percussion instruments gathering crowds
when they played. According to elizabethan era.org.uk/elizabethan music, the songs they played
and sang were traditional favorites, a far cry of the sophisticated and refined music of the
Elizabethan court .
Due to the increasing popularity of music, theater became popular itself. Location was very
important to a theater musician, as the location gave different effects to the sound produced. This
could create the illusion of distance or providing an atmosphere to the plays and performances.
With the rise of William Shakespeare in 1556, theater music became even more popular.
Composers Many composers of the Elizabethan period are still known today. William Byrd
(1539 1623) is one of which and is considered by many to be one of the greatest of the Elizabethan
composers. He was the main composer of religious music and many of his songs still

Examples Of Fear In Ww2
Fear of Three Throughout World War II
Taylin Boettcher
Fear: fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is
dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. There will be a point in every person s life when that
person will experience it, but could you even imagine the reality of barely surviving in a setting
where bombs and missiles fly all day and night? Many people underestimate the emotions and
circumstances of the people in the time of the wars. The Diary of Anne Frank, Camp Harmony,
and Unbroken are proof of this universal feeling during World War II. The theme that I will be
focusing on is: Fear is not uncommon and it affects many, whether it is their choice or not.
Anne Frank was an ordinary Jewish girl living in Holland and going to school with her friends.
But one day, Anne and her family are forced to go into hiding from the Nazi s. They lived in fear
that their house would either be bombed or that they would be found and taken to a concentration
camp. Most of the entries that Anne Frank kept in her diary indicated she was either in distress or
fright. In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can t build

Chernobyl had caused a lot of people, plants, and animals to be affected. 2.5 million people were

thermal burns, and out of those workers, 19 died between 1987 and 2004, 1,000 rescue workers

A Short Note On The Uses And Functions Of A Server On...
BIND in Linux BIND (Berkeley Internet name domain) is the most commonly used DNS (domain
name system) server on the Internet, and it is the defacto standard on Linux and other Unix like
operating systems. DNS is the name resolution (i.e., translation) system that permits users to locate
computers on a network by using their domain name rather than their IP addresses. IP addresses,
which form the basis of addressing on the Internet and most other networks, each can contain as
many as 12 digits under the currently mainstream IPv4 addressing scheme (or as many as 32
hexadecimal digits under the next generation IPv6 addressing scheme). It can be difficult for
humans to remember such addresses, but it is relatively easy for them to remember domain names,
which typically use alphabetic characters and consist of words, abbreviations or acronyms. BIND
provides an openly redistributable reference implementation of the major components of the
DNS, including a DNS server (called named), a DNS resolver library and tools for verifying the
proper operation of the DNS server. The resolver library is a collection of functions written in the
C programming language that provides hostname to IP address and IP address to hostname lookup
services.BIND was originally written at University of California at Berkeley (UCB) as a graduate
student project under a grant from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration
(DARPA). The acronym BIND originally stood for Berkeley Internet

Estimation of Ascorbic Acid
Title: Estimation of Ascorbic acid
Aim:To determine the ascorbic acid content of canned apple and orange juice To determine the
volume of canned juice necessary to provide 75mg of Vitamin C
Introduction:
For the estimation of ascorbic acid, the method used involved the titration of the ascorbic acid, in
the presence of a redox indicator 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol (DCPIP) which acts as both an
oxidant so as to oxidise the ascorbic acid to dehydroascorbic acid, and it acts as an indicator to
determine the end point of the titration. The samples of ascorbic acid used have to be made acidic
first by adding metaphosphoric acid to remove proteins and ferric ions which would precipitate.

52.60mL of apple juice solution contains 1.775 x 10 6 moles of acetic acid
1mL of apple juice solution contains 1.755 x 10 6/52.6 = 3.3 x 10 8 moles of acetic acid
Mass of 3.3 x 10 8 moles of ascorbic acid = 3.3 x 10 8 x 176g = 5.808 x 10 6g = 5.808 x 10 3 mg
/mL
Volume of apple juice necessary to provide 75mg of vitamin C= (75/5.808 x 10 3) x 1000 = 12.9L
Discussion:
In this experiment the ascorbic acid content of canned orange juice and apple juice were
determined via titrimetric analysis. The indicator used was 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol which
also acts as an oxidising agent to oxidise the ascorbic acid. Since ascorbic acid is a potent
reducing agent, it would become oxidised very quickly, so to reduce the chances of missing the end
point of the titration, the samples used were diluted with distilled water.
Before the samples were titrated they were acidified with glacial acetic acid since they would be
heavily diluted. Also 5% metaphosphoric acid was added to prevent the precipitation of proteins
and ferric ions which would interfere with the end point of the titration. The results obtained show
that it takes 8.5L of canned orange juice and 12.9L of canned apple juice to provide the

Historical Fiction And Its Importance On Society
Thesis Statement
We all understand the creative element that is in all fictional movies, including movies about
historical figures and events. Historical fiction is one of the most popular film genres. The general
assumption is that it helps people remember and understand history, giving us facts with some
creative liberties. In truth, it is changing the way we see history and thus changing our traditions
and our culture. The paper that follows should
В· Explain the reasoning behind creating a historical fictional movie
В· Explaining the importance of historical accuracy in fictional films
В· Explaining the importance of these films on society
В· Explain the negative impact that inaccurate historical films have on society
Historical Fiction and its Importance on Society
We constantly see portrayals of historical events and figures across all forms of entertainment,
whether it be a book, theatre or feature film. We are constantly bombarded with tales of dictators,
gladiators, great wars, lone survivors, myths and legends. We are constantly offered historical
fiction because we enjoy it. We like to see subjects that bored us in the classroom suddenly come
to life and entertain us on the big screen. We like to put a face to the legends that we have read
about in literature. It is something that we as a society use to break away from reality for a
moment. The medium of film has the ability to manipulate these stories to fit the entertainment and

Ancient Indian Civilization
ANCIENT INDIAN CIVILIZATION
INTRODUCTION
In the 1920s, a huge discovery in South Asia proved that Egypt and Mesopotamia were not the
only early civilizations. In the vast Indus River plains (located in what is today Pakistan and
western India), under layers of land and mounds of dirt, archaeologists discovered the remains of
a 4,600 year old city. A thriving, urban civilization had existed at the same time as Egyptian and
Mesopotamian states in an area twice each of their sizes. The Indian civilization is one of the most
ancient civilizations of the world. It is known as the Sindhu civilization or the Indus Valley
civilization or the Aryan civilization. Sometimes it is also referred to as the Vedic civilization.

CLIMATE
Climate was an ingredient in early Indian civilizations for several reasons. Monsoons, winds that
mark the seasons, are one of the most immediate. The first monsoon of the season blows from
North to Northeast periodically during November through March. Little rain is present during this
monsoon, however what precipitation does fall, it falls on the Northern slope of the Himilayas.
During mid June through October a second monsoon indicates the Wet Season a.k.a. the southwest
monsoon. Following the southwest monsoon, heavy rains fall in its wake (however sparse rainfall
falls on the Western Ghats, the heaviest rainfull occours over the Ganges Valley and the Eastern
Himilayan Mountains). The timing of these winds is critical; too little or too late rainfall results in
an unsuccessful harvest, yet too much or an extended period of rainfall causes flooding along the
country side. Temperatures also play a significant role in how Indian s settled the land in anchient
times. The ideal area the Deccan plateau had mild temperatures in the summer opposed to the
blistering heat of the Western Ghats and valleys which could climb up to one hundred twenty
degrees farenheit.
The annual rainfall in the Indus region varies between 5 and 20 inches (125 to 500 millimeters).
Except for the mountainous section of Pakistan, the Indus valley lies in the driest part of the
subcontinent. Northwestern winds

Theme Of Manipulation In Medea
Once he began manipulating Medea, this made him realize, that he can manipulate anyone he
chooses to. After he had captured the Golden Fleece, he abandoned Medea and married the
princess of Corinth hoping to stable his wealth and gain more power. He, in turn, manipulated the
royal family only to have the consistent power he needed and desired. This had then begun to
escalate. Jasonis now displaying a pattern of his manipulation. As Jason begins to free himself
from his evil ex wife, Jason manipulates the past into a lie and much bigger problem from his
side of the story. His dishonesty makes his side of the story more believable and by doing so, his
manipulation skills had become more deceivable. Jason is in denial of the many things Medeahad
done for him and when he told his story, he used omission in order to deceive his listeners. Jason
then says, Dark threats cast out against the majesties/ of Corinth, count as veriest gain thy path of
exile. (27). He then blames Medea and having Creon ban her from Corinth.
The power of manipulation can easily be misused to aid the person who uses it. Overusing it can
harm the people who are targets to its belongings. If it is left in the hands of the villain, a large
group of people can be restrained by a solitary person. Manipulation in this play is used very
dangerously and ones actions can lead to another. Some characters take their actions too far to the
point where they begin manipulating themselves during the process. Observant and manipulative
describes the kind of woman Medea had depicted. Medea set her mind on getting revenge on a
man whom she gave up everything to be with. She fled her own country and killed her brother just
to be with a man she fell in love with. Only to find out that the one she had loved betrayed her,
used her for greed, and left her to be with a princess. The main reason for her manipulation was
only to justify her revenge on her husband, Jason. However, people stand in the way of her
revenge plan, and the only way she can do what she needs to do is by manipulating others to be
on her side. She does this in a way where she connects with others on a more personal level so
they can feel just as bad as her. In Vicarious Dishonesty:

Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing
Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing
Introduction:
The process of globalization is changing the way that companies large and small must conduct
business to survive. From external factors such as the international laws and widely varying
domestic tax policies to internal changes to personnel or process, free trade policies are altering
operational strategy, especially for small companies engaging in growth. One of the most
determinant changes brought on by free trade and its gradual permeation of the developing world
is the appeal of global outsourcing or off shoring for growing American businesses. Outsourcing
is the practice by which companies will employ agencies external to the company, and
increasingly external even to the primary country of operation, in order to attain specialty services
at a fee per service basis. Also important to the discussion, the concept of off shoring will find a
company expanding into a new international location by establishing a satellite base of operations
within. Each strategy carries its own unique set of challenges and advantages. Part of our task as a
growing company verging on its first venture of internationalization is to determine what balance of
these strategies might best serve our interests.
Factors in a Global Context:
There are many global factors to consider that have been emergent with the spread of globalization.
For a firm seeking an ideal context for establishing a new manufacturing center, cost is of course a

value which will includes a specialized employee discount. Employee stock options have been
created as a compensation plans benefitting companies, stockholders, and employees. There are a

3.How do you utilize payroll deductions to purchase employee stock options?
4.What happens if you leave the Harris Enterprise? What Is a Stock Option?
All employees have the right to know what a stock option entails. Employee stock options are
contracts giving employees the right to buy the company s common stock at a specified
exercise price after a specified vesting period. The price at which the option is provided is
usually the market price at the time the options are purchased. Employees who have purchased
stock options predict that the share price will go up and that they will be to turn a profit by
purchasing the stock at the lower grant price and then selling the stock at the current market price.
There are two principal kinds of stock option programs, each has specific rules and tax

Fetal Abnormality Case Study Essay
Fetal Abnormality Case Study The advancement of medical technology has made it possible to
detect medical abnormalities while a child is still a fetus and can create difficult choices for
parents to make if severe anomalies are discovered. There are many theories regarding the moral
status of the fetus that can be applied when deciding how to proceed if these abnormalities are
detected. In the fetal abnormality case study, Jessica, Marco, Maria, and Dr. Wilson each have
varying opinions on what course of action to take based on these different theories of moral
status. Jessica is torn between her desire to be financially independent and her belief that all life

Maria is absolutely opposed to any mention of termination. She views the moral status of the fetus
based on Jessica s responsibility as a mother, or the theory of moral agency based on relationships
(GCU, 2015). This theory states that a person must not interfere with another person or must
respect their rights because they have a relationship with them (GCU, 2015; Jaworska
Tannenbaum, 2013). For example, the relationship between a parent and their child, or in this
case their fetus, provides a particularly strong case for a parent not to kill their child or abort their
fetus (Jaworska Tannenbaum, 2013). Aside from the relationship of Jessica and her fetus which
may prevent her from terminating, this theory is also applicable in this case to Marco and
Jessica, as he is going to support any decision that she makes based on their relationship. It can
also be applied to the physician patient relationship, so Dr. Wilson must respect Jessica s and
Marco s rights as parents and their choice because of their relationship. Because moral status has
to do with which beings have value or rights, I tend to agree with the theory of sentience. I believe
that animals do have rights, especially in terms of biomedical ethics and research. I may, however,
seem hypocritical in this belief because I am not a vegetarian. But in this case, based on this theory
I would be likely to terminate the pregnancy at this early stage due to the severe disability and

The Sentiment Analysis Review
Abstract Sentiment analysis is the computational study of opinions, sentiments, subjectivity,
evaluations, attitudes, views and emotions expressed in text. Sentiment analysis is mainly used to
classify the reviews as positive or negative or neutral with respect to a query term. This is useful
for consumers who want to analyse the sentiment of products before purchase, or viewers who want
to know the public sentiment about a new released movie. Here I present the results of machine
learningalgorithms for classifying the sentiment of movie reviews which uses a chi squared feature
selection mechanism for training. I show that machine learning algorithms such as Naive Bayes and
Maximum Entropy can achieve competitive accuracy when trained using features and the publicly
available dataset. It analyse accuracy, precision and recall of machine learning classification
mechanisms with chi squared feature selection technique and plot the relationship between number

The next step in the sentiment analysis is to extract and select text features. Here feature selection

A chi square test also referred to as a statistical hypothesis test in which the sampling distribution of

The Music of Johannes Brahms and Frederic Chopin
The Music of Johannes Brahms and Frederic Chopin Johannes Brahms and Frederic Chopin were
two of the most significant and influential musicians of the Romantic era, which extended from
approximately 1820 until 1900. Romantic music built on the ideas that were developed in the
preceding era, the Classical era, and had even greater ranges of tone color, dynamics and pitch, as
well as greater emphasis on dramatic, unstable chords (Kamien 1998, p. 210). Chopin, who only
lived thirty nine years, was the only great composer who wrote almost exclusively for piano
(Kamien 229). His compositions give the piano a voice that almost has a singing quality. This is
evident in his Nocturne in E Flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2 (http://www.youtube.com
/watch?v=tV5U8kVYS88). It is an early work of Chopin s, composed when he was about
twenty years old. It has an intimate quality because it was meant to be heard in a small space,
such as a parlor. The piece opens slowly and lyrically, with a sweet melody in the middle of the
keyboard. Near the end of the first minute, the piece builds slightly in speed and Chopin
incorporates some higher notes, which trill like a melancholy bird. The melody is repeated three
times in the piece. Each time, it becomes slightly louder and is more ornate with its trills. The
piece, which lasts just over four minutes, is written in 12/8 time. The melody is sweet and a little
sad, and is counterpoint to the waltz like accompaniment. Johannes Brahms created

Walpole In The South Sea Bubble
Almost 300 years ago, Britain experienced a catastrophic event. In 1720, the stock of the South
Sea Company, a financing company, dropped roughly 87 percent, resulting in the first ever
international stock market crash. This crash ruined the British economy for a short period, which
caused a rippling effect on Western Europe. While a number of actors would be blamed, both
politicians in 1720 and historians in the three hundred years since have missed a critical piece
connecting the events of that fateful summer. This essay suggests a reconsideration of the crash. It
connects the progression of marine insurance and the Bubble Act of 1720 to member of parliament
Robert Walpole, an actor who has hitherto escaped blame.

While this paper agrees with the broad strokes of Harris s argument, it differs from Harris in its
interpreting of the nature of the relationship. Historians never connected marine insurance or the
Bubble Act of 1720 to Aislabie s downfall, even though the three stories ultimately intertwine
during the period. A close examination of the proceedings of the House of Commons demonstrates
that Aislabie promoted marine insurance companies to take on part of the national debt. Aislabie s
fingerprints were politically on both the South Sea Company and the two marine insurance
companies. Nevertheless, even with Aislabie s corruption, historians have overlooked Robert
Walpole s role in the South Sea Bubble. This thesis will question several decisions made by
Walpole: his motives in standing silently for months in 1720, his reasoning for pushing through the
Bubble Act, and his role in negotiating the South Sea Company out of financial ruin in the fall of
1720. Through these decisions made by Walpole, this thesis will argue that some responsibility
rested on Walpole for the South Sea Bubble

Black Stereotypes Of Modern Media

Essay Assignment 1
Anti Black Stereotypes in Modern Media Stereotypes are defined as an oversimplified image or
idea about a specific type of person. It is believed that stereotypes about African Americans began in
the United States around the 18th century. Anti Black stereotypes arguably the most developed
racist stereotypes in racial framing and have been used as foundations for the capture, enslavement,
and later, the subjugation of African Americanpeople. Stating that stereotypes are just a joke is
an understatement of the consequential after math racial images and stereotypes have on the
African American population. Even stereotypes that are considered positive are often concealed
with negative implications and reasons as to why they exist. Most people may think they only
hold stereotypes in the back of their head, but studies show that people are more likely to fall
back on them in making judgments when they feel challenged, face uncertainty, or experience
sensory overload. Using information from class, comparisons from the films we have watched

Comparison between All Quiet on the Western Front and The Sun Also Rises
The two books, All Quiet on the Western Front and The Sun Also rises have a number of
differences and similarities. I will address the topics, characters, time periods and writing styles
along with my opinion on the two books. The topic of All Quiet on the Western Frontdescribes how
a German soldier and his friends, in the middle of World War 1, deal with the stresses of the war
and how the soldiers cope with the conditions they are in and the deaths of comrades; these
soldiers are also friends. The book also conveys the stresses of coping with civilian life when
disconnected from the war. The topic of The Sun Also Rises deals with the stresses that a woman
goes through after losing her true love in the war. The themes are different as the stories do not
mirror each other as far as the plot goes. However, they are similar in the fact that both stories
touch on people managing life. I prefer All Quiet on the Western Frontbecause the author wrote the

Statement Of Purpose In Financial Engineering
From childhood, I have been passionate about mathematics and problem solving. Given the
quantitative focus of engineering, I pursued my undergraduate studies in civil engineering. During
my years in college, I used my elective courses to explore subjects from different disciplines. Of
these, I developed a deep interest in finance, particularly the financial markets and trading. To know
more in finance, I later enrolled in CFA level 1, participated in virtual stock marketcompetitions, did
an internship in equity research and started trading with some personal funds.
To further my passion for financial markets, I took up a job as a derivatives trader, trading
commodity futures on Chicago mercantile exchange(CME). As a trader, I received intensive ...

In order to work towards this goal, I knew I had to upgrade my knowledge and skills. This was
when I first felt the need to enroll in a master s program in Financial Engineering. Upon
exploration, I realized that the multi disciplinary approach of financial engineering made it an
ideal match for my career aspirations, as it involves a combination of engineering, mathematics and
finance, all of which I am deeply interested in and have the sufficient background to excel. Finally,
having realized the fast paced changing environment of finance and trading brought about by
financial engineering, I have decided to enroll in a financial engineering program to gain graduate
level knowledge in quantitative finance and get updated of the latest advances in the financial
Industry. Enrolling in such a program would improve my knowledge, skill set and help me become
a better equipped Quantitative trader, which I wish to become in the

The Ethics Of Health Care Ethics
What is Ethics? Let me first define the word Ethics. Ethics refers to well founded standards of
right and wrong that prescribe humans ought to do, usually in terms of rights, obligations,
benefits to society, fairness, or specific virtues. Ethics is when one knows what is normal
between what is right or wrong. For a well mannered individual, it is easy to think first before
you act on something. It is for us to know what our rights are and whether it is right, or wrong, to
do or not. We should be responsible of our actions or behavior. In the society or community, we can
see the diversity on ethicsbecause of differences in race, differences of religion, differences in
beliefs and political views. To really understand what ethics is, we should try to be considerate. Let
us just try to follow the golden rule if we can, do unto others, what you want others to do unto you
HealthCare Ethics is a set of moral principles, beliefs and values that guide us in making choices
about medical care. (Vermont Ethics Network, 2011) Take nursing home as one example, the
healthcare team is properly guided with good principles for them to perform their task and
responsibilities. The healthcare team protects the rights, privacy, confidentiality and dignity of its
residents. As a healthcare provider, we must possess the good virtue of honesty, the most important
quality we can bring to our job. As the saying goes, honesty is the best policy. Telling the truth is
acceptable when one

Negative Forces In Lord Of The Flies
During extreme hardships, the trauma and conditions experienced, can bring out the worst in
people. The Lord of The Flies, written by William Golding, is a novel based off of World War II.
The british school boys in Lord of the Flies, express the extreme trauma and conditions people
faced during the war era. Golding uses changes in the school boys mentalities and actions
through their use of fire to show that severe conditions can bring out the worst in people. When
the boys first arrive on the desolate island they begin to use the fire as a reminder of home and
warmth. The first time the boys manage to safely alight (97) the fire they made it for the thought
of warmth and the starting need to be rescued. Later on after getting their bearings on the remote
island, the boys begin to create order and law in the tribe. One of the laws is that someone has to
watch the signal fire on top of the mountain at every time. Eric and Sam were lighting the fire
which caused warmth to [radiate] and beat pleasantly on them (97) showing that the fire was used
for comfort and no rescue. Also the boys, specifically Ralph and Piggy, thought that there was
something good about the fire (find) besides rescue. Both boy considered the fire as a good thing
they could use with control. Quickly the fire changes into something else. The schoolboys trapped
on the nameless island quickly come to realize they can use the fire to their advantage. They could
use it for rescue. At first the thought

Comparing Picasso s Guernic The Labyrinth Of Narrative And
Many reviews and analysis reference psychoanalytic theory as a base to establish definitive
meaning of why certain things occur and how they function. Ruthe Stein of San Francisco Gate
makes brief yet notable comparisons of Del Toro s film to Picasso s Guernica. Picasso s famous
painting named after the city of Guernicathat was destroyed in 1937 by Francisco Franco, was a
sacred town of the Basques . (Russell 1). Frank Russell s notes in his book Picasso s Guernica:
The Labyrinth of Narrative and Vision , how the Basques lived in the mountains and they were
adept at guerilla tactics (1). Similar, to the rebellions in Del Toro s Labyrinth that lived within the
mountains and forest. Notably, the initial credits of the filmstated that the

ollywood always tries to look for succeeding great actors in the NFL, but mostly they do not find
any. Well, the fact that you are a good professional football player does not mean that you can act.
Most NFL players retire at 35, while still having more time and opportunities of starting new
chapters in different careers. This is why after retiring from football, most NFL players undertake a
career in broadcasting while othHers decide to make good use of their hobbies by turning them
into jobs. Others even end up starting up their own businesses to maintain having a continuous
flow of income. For example, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Statham are just a couple of the
notable names that have traded in the gym for a new adventure in the studio. Sometimes when
footballers try to be actors after retiring from football and they do not succeed, it is always
advisable to leave the acting jobs to the professionals.

Distance And Adult Learning Essay
I am delighted to be here with you today, as you start the first Conference on Research in
Distance and Adult Learning in Asia (CRIDALA 2000). I congratulate the Open University of
Hong Kong and its Centre for Research in Distance and Adult Learning (CRIDAL) for this
endeavour. I am told that the conference will focus primarily on Asia, but the participants, over
100, have come from all over the world the subject is surely of global importance. Let me
therefore add a word of welcome to the overseas participants. I wish you a pleasant stay in Hong
Kong and fruitful deliberations at the conference.

At this level, I am told that four specific beacons characterise the ideal of open and distance
education an ideal that is of course not always attained when resources are limited. These are:
good learning materials,
individual academic and professional support to each student,
effective administration and logistics, and
teaching rooted in research.
It follows then that these principles call for research in and the use of technology, the modes of
delivery, issues in student learning, and pedagogy in relation to the subject areas. In their turn, these
involve the following issues amongst many others.
The capability for research in open, distance and adult learning needs to be enhanced. But distance
education is no longer an island unto itself, so this research capability has to draw from and
become integrated with the community s overall research capabilities, especially in educational and
social research.
A balance must be sought between basic research (the best media mix for instruction, learner
characteristics and teaching strategies, interactive learning) and applied research (instructional
design, supported individualised learning through multimedia).
Probing into the globalisation of education and its effect on local or cultural contexts, the quality of
instruction through web based instruction.
The issue of quality control in general.

Critical Analysis Of The Game Of Love And Chance
The Game of Love and Chance is a play written by Pierre de Marivaux (1688 1763), who is a
French novelist and dramatist that is now considered one of the best French playwrights of the
eighteenth century. He has written over thirty plays that focus more towards romantic comedy.
Marivaux was born in Paris, France on February 4th, 1688, and deceased on February 12th, 1963 in
Paris. The game of Loveand Chance (also called Le Jeu de l amour et du hasard in French), is a
romantic comedygenre, and the main subject of it is love. It was first performed on the 23rd of
January 1730 at the Comedie Italienne, where Marivaux s plays were mostly performed.
Originally, in 1697, the theatre Comedie Italienne was shut down due to offensive contents, and
the companies were banished from France. However, in 1716, the companies were permitted
back to France, and from there, the companies focused on the works of French playwrights, more
specifically on Pierre de Marivaux s plays. An important category that The Game of Love and
Chance belongs to is comedy of manners, which means a comedy that satirizes behavior in a
particular social group, especially the upper classes . The play used comedy in order to explore the
political issues of class and satirized behaviors. The play is about assumed identity, the ultimate
triumph of true love, and the tyranny of social taboos. The play also considers the social status and
the importance it played in the eighteenth century courtship and marriage.

Why Is It Better To Stand Out
I believe that it is better to stand out rather than to fit in. When you stand out, you are able to
learn so many things about yourself that you never knew about. But first, you need to stand out
from the crowd, do what matters to you and change the world for the better. By being yourself, it
allows people to follow in your footsteps by becoming a leader, not a follower. For example, in a
garden bed there are a million of white flowers, but one rose. That one rose is unique and
everyone wants that one since it is different from the rest. By fitting in, people are killing their
own creativity just to be accepted to be like others. We feel pressured to measure up to the same
standard as everyone else to satisfy people s needs and wants. We want

Psychological Conditioning
The book begins with the Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning explains that this Utopia
breeds people by artificially fertilizing a mother s eggs to create babies that grow in bottles.
Everyone belongs to one of five classes, from the Alphas, the most intelligent, to the Epsilons,
morons bred to do the jobs that nobody else wants to do. All the babies are conditioned
psychologically after birth, to make them happy citizens of the society with both a liking and an
aptitude for the work they will do. One psychological conditioning technique is hypnopaedia, which
is teaching people during their sleep, planting suggestions that will make people behave in certain
ways. The Controller is one of the ten men who run the new world. One principle that the... Show

The best male enhancement pills over the counter
We men are so gullible when it comes to enhancing our penis size and overall sexual functions.
Sex as we can see plays an important role in our daily lives; men who are happy with their sexual
lives are much happier and successful than those who face problems in sexual encounter.
And why not, when you reach a particular age sex become integral part which in case of not having
induce mental depression.
I am 29 years old with maximum load in my testicles now, but things want same for me before. I
wasn t happy with my dick performance; at the age of 25 I started experience low level of
testosterone which took a big part from my personality. Those who don t know, Testosterone is the

Beware if you hear names like Vigrx Plus walmart, Vigrx Plus gnc, Vigrx Plus ebay, Vigrx Plus
Walgreens or Vigrx Plus amazon. Big companies like them sell obnoxious products by the name of
some reputable product just to increase their sales.
What you should be doing is visit the official site of VigRX plus and place your order right from
there. It totally worked fine for me, the cost is very affordable and shipping charges were free.
Final Thoughts
After visiting so many WebPages and going through bundle of products, I can say VigRX Plus is
the only male enhancement pills that work. Penis enlargement pills are useless because you cannot
perform with a bigger but not hard dick. Instead you can first work on your sexual health by taking
some performance enhancers.
It s not like your partner needs to be satisfied, but its more about you level of satisfaction which
can only happen if you are physically, mentally and sexually strong.
Like mine, there are hundreds of Vigrx Plus reviews available online and each of them is thanking
its manufacturer to change their life as they knew it.
You cannot find an ideal over the counter sex pill which has hundreds of clinical evidence
available like Vigrx

Essay on Self Evaluation on Group Discussion
The group discussion has just passed, and it was really a hard work and challenging. There were
many precious lessons I got, and, hopefully, so did with my friends. Our group was consisting of
four students. As a quantity, reasonably, we had had enough power to do a better work and gained
a satisfying result. As I flashed back to the groupdiscussion, it was enriching my memories. Some
were in high spirit, remarkable and enjoyable. Opposite to it, few were disappointing.
I still remembered that when we directed for the first meeting everyone was very enthusiastic and
really keened to do it sooner. It was a successful meeting. Unfortunately, I had to let my friend knew
that I would be late for fifteen minutes. It was reasonable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Hopefully, we would get a wide point of view to the case. Happily, it was worked out. We
collected the problems and everyone got certain problems to look for more information. I, myself,
got to check out more for health insurance and law matters. Also, we had second meeting to
discuss about the report and presentation. At the meeting, we decided to give one or two topics
each. Everyone got the same chance to get the topics. Due to I got an introduction only, therefore,
I had to help other pals. In addition, I offered myself to edit the report and hope for the others
contribution as well. At the end of the meeting everyone was told to send their parts to me, and we
would have an online meeting. Also, the part that we got at the day would be, automatically, his or
her responsibility for the presentation. This was a very interesting and incredible group.
Everyone had sent me their part to me. After I compiled and edited the report we would have
further meeting. We discussed about the next meeting online. Everyone had agreed to have the
meeting in the next two days. After class a day prior to the meeting, everyone was told the
meeting was going to be at nine o clock next day. As usual, I came on time. My friends weren t at
the meeting point yet. I thought they would be late for fifteen or twenty minutes. I started working
with the report. I wrote the whole report. I had finished the report at, less or more, ten in

  • 5. The Effects Of Energy Subsidies On The Consumer, The... Abstract Subsidies are one of the most powerful policy tools in the hands of the government. They have been used for decades to achieve a range of economic, social and environmental objectives. Indeed, one of the most important and challenging responsibilities of a government is allocating financial resources to achieve public good. This paper analyses the effects of energy subsidies on the consumer, the economy and the energy industry. Energy subsidies are any government actions that support the cost of energy production in terms of reduction in prices paid by consumers and increase in revenues to energy producers (World Bank, 2010). These investments aim to improve energy access by making prices more affordable, shielding domestic consumers from international price volatility and supporting energy intensive industries (The International Institute for sustainable development, 2012).In practice, energy subsidies come in different forms. (The IEA, 2002) and (UNEP, 2008) identify the following typical mechanisms by which governments support the production and consumption of energy: Direct financial transfers: grants to consumers, grants to producers, low interest or preferential loans and government loan guarantees; Preferential tax treatment: tax credits, tax rebates, exemptions on royalties, duties or tariffs, reduced tax rates, deferred tax liabilities and accelerated depreciation on energy supply equipment; Trade restrictions: tariffs, tariff rate import quotas ... He primarily uses an informational tone with a heavy emphasis on pathos. He does a fairly good job remaining unbiased and showing the counterarguments. (Hilaire Bakala et al 2012) Exposure to stressful situations during early life can have intense health consequences and is impaired throughout life. However some cases of this impact do not become evident until much later in life or decades later, when the individuals begin to show signs of accelerated ageing. (Katherine A. et al 2014). While understanding the relationship between early life and longevity has important implications in the field of aging, we have still little information about the mechanisms involved in the prolonged times scales of stress aging. The cause of a migraine could be many different things. This research paper could help out a lot pf people who may have not yet experienced a migraine attack. A migraine attack is one of the hardest illnesses to diagnose but a migraine could also lead to other things more severe. A migraine? Migraines, severe painful headaches often proceeded or accompanied by sensory warning signs such as flashes of light, blind spots, tingling in the arms and legs, nausea, vomiting, and increased sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine headaches result from a combination of blood vessel enlargement and the release of chemicals from nerve fibers that coil around the blood vessel. This then causes the sympathetic nervous system to respond with nausea, diarrhea, and vomiting. These migraine headaches are commonly misdiagnosed as tension type headaches or sinus headaches. During the headache, an artery enlarges that is located on the outside of the skull just under the skin of the temple. This causes a release of chemicals that cause inflammation, pain, and further enlargement of the artery. (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Migraine) What triggers a migraine? We are told through the voice of Goliath that he is only a youth, ruddy and handsome in appearance (1 Samuel 17: 42). It is evident that David is meant to appear as an average kid with no exceedingly superior or spectacular qualities. This simple portrayal of David is significant because it sets in motion the development of realistic empathy from the implied reader towards David. It is important for the implied reader to feel empathetic towards David because even though David kills Goliath in the end, we are meant to view him as a hero, not a murder. Building a connection between the implied reader and David makes this possible. Though David represents a seemingly common boy at the time, he has several qualities that make him stand out. • 19. A Short Note On The Uses And Functions Of A Server On... BIND in Linux BIND (Berkeley Internet name domain) is the most commonly used DNS (domain name system) server on the Internet, and it is the defacto standard on Linux and other Unix like operating systems. DNS is the name resolution (i.e., translation) system that permits users to locate computers on a network by using their domain name rather than their IP addresses. IP addresses, which form the basis of addressing on the Internet and most other networks, each can contain as many as 12 digits under the currently mainstream IPv4 addressing scheme (or as many as 32 hexadecimal digits under the next generation IPv6 addressing scheme). It can be difficult for humans to remember such addresses, but it is relatively easy for them to remember domain names, which typically use alphabetic characters and consist of words, abbreviations or acronyms. BIND provides an openly redistributable reference implementation of the major components of the DNS, including a DNS server (called named), a DNS resolver library and tools for verifying the proper operation of the DNS server. The resolver library is a collection of functions written in the C programming language that provides hostname to IP address and IP address to hostname lookup services.BIND was originally written at University of California at Berkeley (UCB) as a graduate student project under a grant from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Administration (DARPA). The indicator used was 2,6 dichlorophenol indophenol which also acts as an oxidising agent to oxidise the ascorbic acid. Since ascorbic acid is a potent reducing agent, it would become oxidised very quickly, so to reduce the chances of missing the end point of the titration, the samples used were diluted with distilled water. Before the samples were titrated they were acidified with glacial acetic acid since they would be heavily diluted. Also 5% metaphosphoric acid was added to prevent the precipitation of proteins and ferric ions which would interfere with the end point of the titration. The results obtained show that it takes 8.5L of canned orange juice and 12.9L of canned apple juice to provide the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the vast Indus River plains (located in what is today Pakistan and western India), under layers of land and mounds of dirt, archaeologists discovered the remains of a 4,600 year old city. A thriving, urban civilization had existed at the same time as Egyptian and Mesopotamian states in an area twice each of their sizes. CLIMATE Climate was an ingredient in early Indian civilizations for several reasons. Monsoons, winds that mark the seasons, are one of the most immediate. The first monsoon of the season blows from North to Northeast periodically during November through March. Little rain is present during this monsoon, however what precipitation does fall, it falls on the Northern slope of the Himilayas. During mid June through October a second monsoon indicates the Wet Season a.k.a. the southwest monsoon. Following the southwest monsoon, heavy rains fall in its wake (however sparse rainfall falls on the Western Ghats, the heaviest rainfull occours over the Ganges Valley and the Eastern Himilayan Mountains). The timing of these winds is critical; too little or too late rainfall results in an unsuccessful harvest, yet too much or an extended period of rainfall causes flooding along the country side. Temperatures also play a significant role in how Indian s settled the land in anchient times. The ideal area the Deccan plateau had mild temperatures in the summer opposed to the blistering heat of the Western Ghats and valleys which could climb up to one hundred twenty degrees farenheit. The annual rainfall in the Indus region varies between 5 and 20 inches (125 to 500 millimeters). • 27. Theme Of Manipulation In Medea Once he began manipulating Medea, this made him realize, that he can manipulate anyone he chooses to. After he had captured the Golden Fleece, he abandoned Medea and married the princess of Corinth hoping to stable his wealth and gain more power. He, in turn, manipulated the royal family only to have the consistent power he needed and desired. This had then begun to escalate. Jasonis now displaying a pattern of his manipulation. As Jason begins to free himself from his evil ex wife, Jason manipulates the past into a lie and much bigger problem from his side of the story. His dishonesty makes his side of the story more believable and by doing so, his manipulation skills had become more deceivable. Jason is in denial of the many things Medeahad done for him and when he told his story, he used omission in order to deceive his listeners. Jason then says, Dark threats cast out against the majesties/ of Corinth, count as veriest gain thy path of exile. (27). He then blames Medea and having Creon ban her from Corinth. The power of manipulation can easily be misused to aid the person who uses it. Overusing it can harm the people who are targets to its belongings. If it is left in the hands of the villain, a large group of people can be restrained by a solitary person. Manipulation in this play is used very dangerously and ones actions can lead to another. Some characters take their actions too far to the point where they begin manipulating themselves during the process. Observant and manipulative describes the kind of woman Medea had depicted. Medea set her mind on getting revenge on a man whom she gave up everything to be with. She fled her own country and killed her brother just to be with a man she fell in love with. Only to find out that the one she had loved betrayed her, used her for greed, and left her to be with a princess. The main reason for her manipulation was only to justify her revenge on her husband, Jason. However, people stand in the way of her revenge plan, and the only way she can do what she needs to do is by manipulating others to be on her side. She does this in a way where she connects with others on a more personal level so they can feel just as bad as her. In Vicarious Dishonesty: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing Selecting a Locale for Global Outsourcing Introduction: The process of globalization is changing the way that companies large and small must conduct business to survive. From external factors such as the international laws and widely varying domestic tax policies to internal changes to personnel or process, free trade policies are altering operational strategy, especially for small companies engaging in growth. One of the most determinant changes brought on by free trade and its gradual permeation of the developing world is the appeal of global outsourcing or off shoring for growing American businesses. Outsourcing is the practice by which companies will employ agencies external to the company, and increasingly external even to the primary country of operation, in order to attain specialty services at a fee per service basis. Also important to the discussion, the concept of off shoring will find a company expanding into a new international location by establishing a satellite base of operations within. Each strategy carries its own unique set of challenges and advantages. Part of our task as a growing company verging on its first venture of internationalization is to determine what balance of these strategies might best serve our interests. Factors in a Global Context: There are many global factors to consider that have been emergent with the spread of globalization. Fetal Abnormality Case Study Essay Fetal Abnormality Case Study The advancement of medical technology has made it possible to detect medical abnormalities while a child is still a fetus and can create difficult choices for parents to make if severe anomalies are discovered. There are many theories regarding the moral status of the fetus that can be applied when deciding how to proceed if these abnormalities are detected. In the fetal abnormality case study, Jessica, Marco, Maria, and Dr. Wilson each have varying opinions on what course of action to take based on these different theories of moral status. Jessica is torn between her desire to be financially independent and her belief that all life has value. Her belief is what Sebo (n.d.) describes as moral status based on... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Maria is absolutely opposed to any mention of termination. She views the moral status of the fetus based on Jessica s responsibility as a mother, or the theory of moral agency based on relationships (GCU, 2015). This theory states that a person must not interfere with another person or must respect their rights because they have a relationship with them (GCU, 2015; Jaworska Tannenbaum, 2013). For example, the relationship between a parent and their child, or in this case their fetus, provides a particularly strong case for a parent not to kill their child or abort their fetus (Jaworska Tannenbaum, 2013). Aside from the relationship of Jessica and her fetus which may prevent her from terminating, this theory is also applicable in this case to Marco and Jessica, as he is going to support any decision that she makes based on their relationship. It can also be applied to the physician patient relationship, so Dr. Wilson must respect Jessica s and Marco s rights as parents and their choice because of their relationship. Because moral status has to do with which beings have value or rights, I tend to agree with the theory of sentience. I believe that animals do have rights, especially in terms of biomedical ethics and research. I may, however, seem hypocritical in this belief because I am not a vegetarian. But in this case, based on this theory I would be likely to terminate the pregnancy at this early stage due to the severe disability and likelihood for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Music of Johannes Brahms and Frederic Chopin The Music of Johannes Brahms and Frederic Chopin Johannes Brahms and Frederic Chopin were two of the most significant and influential musicians of the Romantic era, which extended from approximately 1820 until 1900. Romantic music built on the ideas that were developed in the preceding era, the Classical era, and had even greater ranges of tone color, dynamics and pitch, as well as greater emphasis on dramatic, unstable chords (Kamien 1998, p. 210). Chopin, who only lived thirty nine years, was the only great composer who wrote almost exclusively for piano (Kamien 229). His compositions give the piano a voice that almost has a singing quality. This is evident in his Nocturne in E Flat Major, Op. 9, No. 2 (http://www.youtube.com /watch?v=tV5U8kVYS88). It is an early work of Chopin s, composed when he was about twenty years old. It has an intimate quality because it was meant to be heard in a small space, such as a parlor. The piece opens slowly and lyrically, with a sweet melody in the middle of the keyboard. Near the end of the first minute, the piece builds slightly in speed and Chopin incorporates some higher notes, which trill like a melancholy bird. The melody is repeated three times in the piece. Each time, it becomes slightly louder and is more ornate with its trills. The piece, which lasts just over four minutes, is written in 12/8 time. The melody is sweet and a little sad, and is counterpoint to the waltz like accompaniment. Johannes Brahms created ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Walpole In The South Sea Bubble Almost 300 years ago, Britain experienced a catastrophic event. In 1720, the stock of the South Sea Company, a financing company, dropped roughly 87 percent, resulting in the first ever international stock market crash. This crash ruined the British economy for a short period, which caused a rippling effect on Western Europe. While a number of actors would be blamed, both politicians in 1720 and historians in the three hundred years since have missed a critical piece connecting the events of that fateful summer. This essay suggests a reconsideration of the crash. It connects the progression of marine insurance and the Bubble Act of 1720 to member of parliament Robert Walpole, an actor who has hitherto escaped blame. The South Sea Company ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While this paper agrees with the broad strokes of Harris s argument, it differs from Harris in its interpreting of the nature of the relationship. Historians never connected marine insurance or the Bubble Act of 1720 to Aislabie s downfall, even though the three stories ultimately intertwine during the period. A close examination of the proceedings of the House of Commons demonstrates that Aislabie promoted marine insurance companies to take on part of the national debt. Aislabie s fingerprints were politically on both the South Sea Company and the two marine insurance companies. Nevertheless, even with Aislabie s corruption, historians have overlooked Robert Walpole s role in the South Sea Bubble. This thesis will question several decisions made by Walpole: his motives in standing silently for months in 1720, his reasoning for pushing through the Bubble Act, and his role in negotiating the South Sea Company out of financial ruin in the fall of 1720. Ethics refers to well founded standards of right and wrong that prescribe humans ought to do, usually in terms of rights, obligations, benefits to society, fairness, or specific virtues. Ethics is when one knows what is normal between what is right or wrong. For a well mannered individual, it is easy to think first before you act on something. It is for us to know what our rights are and whether it is right, or wrong, to do or not. We should be responsible of our actions or behavior. In the society or community, we can see the diversity on ethicsbecause of differences in race, differences of religion, differences in beliefs and political views. To really understand what ethics is, we should try to be considerate. Let us just try to follow the golden rule if we can, do unto others, what you want others to do unto you HealthCare Ethics is a set of moral principles, beliefs and values that guide us in making choices about medical care. (Vermont Ethics Network, 2011) Take nursing home as one example, the healthcare team is properly guided with good principles for them to perform their task and responsibilities. The healthcare team protects the rights, privacy, confidentiality and dignity of its residents. As a healthcare provider, we must possess the good virtue of honesty, the most important quality we can bring to our job. As the saying goes, honesty is the best policy. • 41. Negative Forces In Lord Of The Flies During extreme hardships, the trauma and conditions experienced, can bring out the worst in people. The Lord of The Flies, written by William Golding, is a novel based off of World War II. The british school boys in Lord of the Flies, express the extreme trauma and conditions people faced during the war era. Golding uses changes in the school boys mentalities and actions through their use of fire to show that severe conditions can bring out the worst in people. When the boys first arrive on the desolate island they begin to use the fire as a reminder of home and warmth. The first time the boys manage to safely alight (97) the fire they made it for the thought of warmth and the starting need to be rescued. Later on after getting their bearings on the remote island, the boys begin to create order and law in the tribe. One of the laws is that someone has to watch the signal fire on top of the mountain at every time. Eric and Sam were lighting the fire which caused warmth to [radiate] and beat pleasantly on them (97) showing that the fire was used for comfort and no rescue. Also the boys, specifically Ralph and Piggy, thought that there was something good about the fire (find) besides rescue. Both boy considered the fire as a good thing they could use with control. Quickly the fire changes into something else. The schoolboys trapped on the nameless island quickly come to realize they can use the fire to their advantage. They could use it for rescue. At this level, I am told that four specific beacons characterise the ideal of open and distance education an ideal that is of course not always attained when resources are limited. These are: good learning materials, individual academic and professional support to each student, effective administration and logistics, and teaching rooted in research. It follows then that these principles call for research in and the use of technology, the modes of delivery, issues in student learning, and pedagogy in relation to the subject areas. In their turn, these involve the following issues amongst many others. The capability for research in open, distance and adult learning needs to be enhanced. But distance education is no longer an island unto itself, so this research capability has to draw from and become integrated with the community s overall research capabilities, especially in educational and social research. A balance must be sought between basic research (the best media mix for instruction, learner characteristics and teaching strategies, interactive learning) and applied research (instructional design, supported individualised learning through multimedia). Probing into the globalisation of education and its effect on local or cultural contexts, the quality of instruction through web based instruction. The issue of quality control in general. It was first performed on the 23rd of January 1730 at the Comedie Italienne, where Marivaux s plays were mostly performed. Originally, in 1697, the theatre Comedie Italienne was shut down due to offensive contents, and the companies were banished from France. However, in 1716, the companies were permitted back to France, and from there, the companies focused on the works of French playwrights, more specifically on Pierre de Marivaux s plays. An important category that The Game of Love and Chance belongs to is comedy of manners, which means a comedy that satirizes behavior in a particular social group, especially the upper classes . The play used comedy in order to explore the political issues of class and satirized behaviors. The play is about assumed identity, the ultimate triumph of true love, and the tyranny of social taboos. The play also considers the social status and the importance it played in the eighteenth century courtship and marriage. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Why Is It Better To Stand Out I believe that it is better to stand out rather than to fit in. When you stand out, you are able to learn so many things about yourself that you never knew about. But first, you need to stand out from the crowd, do what matters to you and change the world for the better. By being yourself, it allows people to follow in your footsteps by becoming a leader, not a follower. For example, in a garden bed there are a million of white flowers, but one rose. That one rose is unique and everyone wants that one since it is different from the rest. By fitting in, people are killing their own creativity just to be accepted to be like others. We feel pressured to measure up to the same standard as everyone else to satisfy people s needs and wants. We want ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
