Kids Having Kids Essay
Linnie, from one of the poorest areas of Washington, D.C., started having sex when she was only
eleven. Girls from disadvantaged homes are three to four times more likely to have children. By
the time Linnie was fifteen, she was pregnant. As soon as she found out, her boyfriend of five
years left her. This is very common when it comes to teenage pregnancy. More teens are having sex
and getting pregnant then ever before! These girls must decide what to do about their child, and
that is a very hard decision! There are about four million teens that are sexually active in the U.S.
Only about half of them use protection. There are many influences in a young person s life. Mass
media is a big part of the influence. Television... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you have sex then you must know something can happen and you are risking having a child. If
you decide to keep the child you must realize that your years of being a kid are basically over.
You will have many more responsibilities as a teen with having a child then just a regular teen!
You will have to get a job to support yourself as well as your child. That could even mean quitting
school. The solution to pregnancy for teenage girls is one of these choices: abortion, adoption,
or raising the child yourself. No matter which is chosen, there will be an emotional cost.
Choosing abortion or adoption usually means that the woman isn t prepared to become a parent
and knows it. Children need diapers, food, toys, medical care, clothes, and many other things.
Most teenagers cannot afford to buy all those things and still pay for themselves. When teens
choose abortion they can eventually go back to living their old lives. In the past few decades,
abortion has become very common! Since abortion is so common these days, the adoption rate has
decreased rapidly. The questions that adoption agencies ask are much tougher than ever before.
When teens put their children up for adoption they have the option of still seeing them. A down
side to adoption is that the girl will still have to go through nine months of being pregnant. If you
choose to raise your child then you have to get a job and make enough

Thomas Jefferson And The United States
Thomas Jefferson To begin with, Thomas Jefferson was born April 13, 1743, at Shadwell,
Virginia, to Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph, one of Virginia s most prestigious families.
Throughout his long life he died at eighty three years old Thomas Jefferson devoted himself to
the building and governing of the United States. He served in a number of positions, from
Ambassador to France, Governor of Virginia, Secretary of State, Vice President and as the third
president of the United States. Yet, what Thomas wanted to be remembered best was for the
founding of University of Virginia, for authoring the Declaration of Independence and as the
author for the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. He was the epitome of a Renaissance
man, who prided himself on his knowledge of science, agriculture, music and the arts as well as
architecture, one of his chief loves. When he was twenty six years old he inherited a large amount
of land from his father on which he built his famous house Monticello. The house sits at the top of
a hill near Richmond Virginia, hence its name which literally translates into beautiful mountain.
Three years later he married Martha Wayles Skelton and together they had a total of six children.
However, only two lived to be adults, and Martha died only ten years after their marriage. He
never remarried. In addition to the land, Jefferson inherited a number of slaves from his father and
father in law which totaled approximately 200 in any given

In January 2009, the CPN (M) was formally unified with the Communist Party of Nepal (Unity
Center Masal) and is now known as the Unified Community Party of Nepal (Maoist).
After being postponed for two times (June 20, 2007 and November 22, 2007), an election for the
Nepalese Constituent Assembly was held on April 10, 2008. The assembly is mandated with
drafting of a new constitution as business of the government and all other affairs are being run on
interim constitution so far. For the first time in history of Nepal, the Communist Party of Nepal
(Maoist) won 220 seats from a house of 575 elected seats. The party became the largest party in the
Constituent Assembly and after deliberation and dialogue with other political parties, Chairman of
the party Prachanda took oath in August 2008 as the first ever elected prime minister of the
country. However, the party has failed to craft out new constitution of the country so far as other
political parties in the house are not actively participating in discussion for new constitution of the
country. The UCPN (M) enjoys absolute majority in the house and can draft a new constitution on
its own but it is still pending which is worrisome for many in Nepal.

Where Did The English Evolved Into A Modern Language
English is the official language of many countries all over the world and is spoken more and
more every day( How English Evolved Into a Modern Language. ). Modern English is the product
of the invasions of England over a long period of time( Where Did the English Language Come
From? ). Throughout history English has influenced and been influenced by many different
languages( A Brief History of the English Language. ). Historically, English is divided into three
periods: Old English or Anglo Saxon, Middle English, and Modern English( What Are the Origins
of the English Language ).
Old English began when certain Germanic tribes migrated to Britain in the fifth century A.D.
Although the period of Old English continues up to the end of the eleventh century, there are no
records of it from before the seventh century( What Are the Origins of the English Language ).
There were four distinct dialects of Old English: Northumbrian,
Mercia, Kentish and West Saxon. This is known through differences in spelling. After 900 AD
West Saxon became widely used as a standard written language, and is sometimes referred to as
Classic
West Saxon ( Borrowing in Old English ).
There was a large influx of words into the language during the period of Old English. Old English
commonly used place names from Celtic, religious, army, and educational words from Latin, and
everyday words from Scandinavian. The Germanic tribes that invaded England had been exposed to
Latin before they invaded, so

Jefferson Vs Hamilton Essay
Following the ratification of the Constitution in 1788, the 1790s in the United States was a period
of unrest that characterized a new country with little experience. A partisan divide was formed
during this time period, due to the establishment of Hamilton s plan which resulted in conflict of
interest between Federalists and Republicans, the U.S involvement within the French and British
conflict, and the domestic affairs that dominated Adam s presidency. While each issue had strong
opposition, the true problem was rooted in a government that was more focused on combating
tyranny, rather than finding resolutions to the conflicts at hand. Alexander Hamilton was the
secretary of treasury during Washington s presidency. In 1790, Hamilton established a five step
program that essentially privatized the state treasury, and validated stronger bonds in industry based
foreign trade. This policy had support from merchants, manufacturers and financiers, but not small
farmers, headed by Jefferson and Madison, who wanted the U.S to stay agrarian and expand
Westward. From these two ideals sprouted partisan politics; Federalists under Hamilton, and
Republicans under Jefferson and Madison. The U.S Founders were primarily focused on preventing
the abuse of power when creating the Constitution, and thus there was no method to resolving the
conflict that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
American citizens supported this revolt as Americans historically hate tyranny, while the
government saw it as a way of raising the prospect of anarchy within their own country. The John
Jay Treaty of 1794 gave Britain priority in American trade, which in return concluded the U.S.
involvement with France. This alignment with the British monarchy deepened the partisan divide
in the states, with those in support aligning themselves with the Federalist party, while those in
opposition,with the Republican

The New Addiction- Smartphones
Today Teenagers of the world have a new addiction. This new addiction is known as smartphones.
Teenagers between 15 17 nowadays are using smartphones without limits. Everywhere you turn you
see teens bending down or swiping or clicking their phones screen or sleeping with their
smartphones under the pillow. Day after day smartphones are becoming more central to teenagers
lives. A smartphone could be well defines as a portable phone that has additional functions parallel
to personal digital assistance devices. Smartphones simplify communication and offer fast and easy
access to almost every single information needed in teens everyday life. But the fact the
smartphones took place over other devices such as cameras, clocks, library books, and computer
games make them more and more important, which also makes teens dependent to them. The
benefits could be severely undermined if mishandling and over use are not kept in check and under
controlled. Although older teenagers would disagree their use of smartphone should be monitored
by parents, because smartphone are distracting teenagers, causing them health problems, in addition
to encouraging them sexually. Teenagers are being distracted by their smartphones in many
different ways, that s why the use of them should be monitored by parents. To illustrate, texting,
chatting, tweeting, playing and watching videos on YouTube are enjoyable activates that many
teens choose to do during their spare time. However,

Freedom of Speech
Freedom of speech
Freedom of speech is the freedom to speak freely without censorship. The synonymous term
freedom of expression is sometimes used to indicate not only freedom of verbal speech but any act
of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. In
practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly
subject to limitations, such as on hate speech .
The right to freedom of speech is recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in international human rights law in the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). The ICCPR recognizes the right to freedom of
speech as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, freedom of the press is not necessarily enabling freedom of speech. Judith Lichtenberg
has outlined conditions in which freedom of the press may constrain freedom of speech, for
example where the media suppresses information or stifles the diversity of voices inherent in
freedom of speech. Lichtenberg argues that freedom of the press is simply a form of property right
summed up by the principle no money, no voice .
Origins and academic freedom
Freedom of speech and expression has a long history that predates modern international human
rights instruments. It is thought that ancient Athens democratic ideology of free speech may
have emerged in the late 6th or early 5th century BC.[12] Two of the most cherished values of
the Roman Republic were freedom of religion and freedom of speech. In Islamic ethics, freedom
of speech was first declared in the Rashidun period by the caliph Umar in the 7th century AD. In
the Abbasid Caliphate period, freedom of speech was also declared by al Hashimi (a cousin of
Caliph al Ma mun) in a letter to one of the religious opponents he was attempting to convert
through reason. According to George Makdisi and Hugh Goddard, the idea of academic freedom
in universities was modelled on Islamic custom as practiced in the medieval Madrasah system from
the 9th century. Islamic influence was certainly discernible in the foundation of the first
deliberately planned university in Europe, the University of Naples Federico II founded by

Goals For The Goal Setting
Goal setting is when people set specific challenging goals can powerfully drive behavior and boost
performance (OrdГіГ±ez, Scheitzer, Galinsky, Bazerman, 2009, p.2). There are a lot of pros and
cons to a lot of topics in life. Goal settings have a lot of pros and cons as well. After reading the
three articles there are many more cons than pros to goal setting. Goal setting is very useful to
mangers, but the attackers are blowing things out of proportion. The first pro of goal setting is too
increase performance. The specific challenging goals increase performance more than the
unchallenging goals (OrdГіГ±ez et al., 2009, p.3). So why does setting specific challenging goals
increase performance? So long as a person is committed to the goal, has the requisite ability to
attain it, and does not have conflicting goals, there is a positive, linear relationship between goal
difficulty and task performance (OrdГіГ±ez et al., 2009, p.3). Workers committed to goals will try
harder to complete the goals because there is a path to follow, they can develop plans to achieve
goals, and with goals there is more focus to the goals that it must be achieved so the workers work
harder to complete them. There is also more effort and the workers become persistent in completing
the goal. Another benefit of goal setting is that people are more committed to completing
challenging goals because they company sets them and it will benefit the company. For example,

When using McKay et al (2009) advice on active listening, it has unfortunately backfired on me
when working with co workers in a meeting. When working in a team of students active listening
has not helped me at all, and has caused more conflict then help. When active listening with my co

Cyanide ( Cn- ) Compounds And Deviations Of It
Cyanide (CN anion) compounds and deviations of it (HCN, KCN) have been in use for many
years as poisons in various settings. In Ancient Egypt plants containing trace concentrations of
cyanide have been used as lethal poisons and in World War II HCN was employed with a base to
mass exterminate millions of people in Nazi camps. Another historically used method of cyanide
poisoningis through gas chambers created by addition of a cyanide salt into an acid to create HCN
(g). Although many forms of cyanide exist, the most common is HCN, which naturally is released
into the atmosphere from plants, volcanoes and bacteria/fungi. The primary source of cyanide
poisoning in humans is through accidental ingestion of plants. More than 2,000 plant species
contain cyanogenic glycosides that when ingested can be rapidly hydrolyzed into cyanide. This
rapid hydrolysis occurs when cell structure of the plant is disturbed thus plant products that are
incorrectly processed may lead to cyanide poisoning. Cyanogenic compounds are present in
surprisingly large number of common foods such as sweet potatoes, cassava, bamboo and lima
beans1. An area of growing concern is inhalation of tobacco smoke, which is another common
source of cyanogenic compounds. Many idiopathic syndromes have been shown to be associated
with failure in detoxification mechanisms specifically targeting cyanide compounds2.
Symptoms of cyanide poisoning generally mimic those of suffocation or climbing mountains at high

The Civil Rights Movement is often portrayed as white men against black men but the women
definitely had their dog in the fight so to speak. McGuire recounts the important events of the civil
rights movement and highlights the courage exhibited by African American women. She hits the
nail on the head in terms of the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement was fueled by the
courage and the togetherness of the black people, particularly black women. These Black women
had the courage to speak up; the courage to fight for justice; the courage to defend black
womanhood. Despite the risk of being imprisoned, beaten or lynched these women stood together
to fight for what was right. If it hadn t been for their courage I m not sure if the

Mau In Nation
Nation is a novel by Terry Pratchett. Set on the Nation, a tropical island in the Great Southern
Pelagic Ocean, a substitute for the South Pacific, the book details the events that follow a tsunami
that causes widespread devastation across the Great Southern Pelagic. Mau, the protagonist, is a
member of the community that inhabits the Nation. At the beginning of the novel, Mau is returning
from a coming of age ritual on the nearby Boys Island, and survives the tidal wavewhilst at sea. He
returns to the Nation to find that everybody on the island had been killed by the natural disaster.

It is a traditional belief of the Nation that [y]ou left your boy soul [on the Boy s Island] and got
given a man soul when you got back to the Nation (14). When departing from the Boys Island to
return to the Nation, Mau remarks that [h]e d be like mihei gawi, the little blue hermit crab, scuttling
from his shell to a new one once a year, easy prey for any passing squid (16). Shortly after the
wave, Mau again identifies as a blue hermit crab, remarking that he [has] no soul [because he did
not undergo the ceremonies that would grant one a man soul]. His boy soul had vanished with
the island, and he d never get a man soul now. He [is] the blue hermit crab, hurrying from one
shell to another, and the big shell he had thought he could see had been taken away (107). At this
time, he views his situation negatively. However, he later embraces this identity. He declares
that [he is] the little blue hermit crab ... [a]nd [he is] running. But [he will] not be trapped in a
shell again, because ... any shell will be too small. [He wants] to know why (174 5). In this quote,
he uses any shell as a metaphor for the narrow religious doctrine held by Ataba and the
Grandfathers, and expresses his desire for knowledge. As a consequence of the adversity associated
with the tidal wave, Mau compares himself to a little blue hermit crab, scuttling between souls. As
the novel progresses, Mau accepts and adopts this

Keurig Dope
The innovative pods called k cups have turned the world of coffee brewing upside down. A
company called Keurig began making and selling high quality coffee makers in 1992. Six years
later, they developed a coffee brewer that would brew one superior cup of coffee at a time. The little
pods of coffee or tea that would be placed inside the innovative coffeemakers were called Keurig

The key concepts behind k cups are controlled brewing and variety. The amount of finely ground
coffee and tea inside the pods is portioned very precisely. Controlling how much premium coffee or

Cruise Ship s And The Canadian Arctic Essay
Cruise Ship s and the Canadian Arctic
Cruise ship tourism is on the rise, by the end of 2016 nearly 24 million people will have taken a
cruise ( Cruise Industry Outlook, 2016). The cruise ship industry has experience a 68% increase in
demand since the mid 2000 s. Therefore, it is not surprising then, that the cruise ship industry had
an global economic impact of 119.9 billion in 2014 ( Cruise Industry Outlook, 2016). As more
individuals turn to cruises to fulfill their vacation needs, and arctic cruises are gaining in popularity
due to melting sea ice caused by climate change the issue of sustainability must be discussed,
particularly the environmental, economic and cultural impact that these enormous floating hotels
will undoubtedly have on the people and environment of Canada s Arctic.
The 1960 s marked the beginning of cruise tourism ( Brida, et.al, 2013). However, it wasn t until
the 70 s and 80 s that the cruise industry began to experience moderate growth. All of this
changed however in 90 s when cruise tourism took root in Europe, Asia and Oceania and 3.8
million people worldwide embarked on ocean adventures ( Brida, et.al, 2013). Although the
industry has experienced continual growth since the 90 s, and cruises are consistently ranked as
one of the top preferred vacation type by holiday goers, the cruise tourism industry is still relatively
small in relation to other forms of international tourism (Brida, et.al, 2013).

dominate the discussion of this topic.
One line of thought holds that American Exceptionalism is very real and has had a profound
impact on the United States. There are two related threads involved in this argument. First is the
idea that because the United States was created as, what one might call, the first new nation,

This work of Gaudi I believe is a clear example of an Artist s vision. Gaudi incorporated his
creativeness into a building produced a concrete example of his vision. To me it feels like this
building you might see in Disneyland, but here it is on a normal street of Barcelona erected amongst
other buildings. Yet it questions our imagination. The curves, the colour scheme that is used, the
use of bones, it is simply captivating! This is what Gaudi s work is about to create an impact on
its viewers. I really appreciate this work of his because he created something completely different,
something out of the ordinary.
Another one of Gaudi s famous work is the Sagrada Familia. Though it is unfinished it is still on
of the famous attractions in Barcelona. Whilst the building was actually started by Francisco de
Paula Villar, It was Antonio Gaudi who took over in 1884 by finishing the underground crypt that
Villar had begun to give Sagrada Familia a unique twist and a revolutionary design. Gaudi

happened in July of 1947. This event was so controversial because the Army Air force recovered
a flat disc that was flying and crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. A New Mexico congressman
attempted to find the documents where this UFO was removed but it was unable to be found.
This incident wasn t even considered a UFO incident until the year 1978. The Army Air Force
dismissed the evidence of it being related to a UFO by saying it was a weather balloon. Some
authors of books wrote that the debris was not from a weather balloon at all but from a UFO and
bodies of aliens. The claims of the UFO debris and bodies found on the site went on and everyone
was saying that the army Air Force was covering the scene up. The records showed nothing of a
cover up. After all the commotion down about the Roswell situation the Army Air Force got away

Renewable Energy And Natural Gas
Finally, the last form of power generation to be examined before the moral analysis is renewable
energy, for example wind and solar power. Renewable energy is the least established method of
generating electricity and is therefore still heavily tied up in research. By definition, renewable
energy sources have a theoretically limitless amount of energy production since they do not deplete
any resources through their use. This means that for as many years as humans inhabit the earth they
can use renewable energies, such as solar, wind, hydro power or others, which has much more
potential than the 100 years for coal and natural gas. Renewable energyalso has fewer negative
environmental impacts since it does not directly release any... Show more content on

One utilitarian approach used to determine which act is most ethical, is cost benefit analysis. This
analysis compares the potential benefits against the costs (financial, physical risks etc.) of possible
decisions. For choosing which energy source the public should invest money in and engineers
should invest research in, the criterion detailed above are compared. For cost benefit analysis,
shown in Table 1, the effect on future generations is incorporated at the same value as the effect on
current generations. For the cost criterion, renewable energy is currently the least beneficial in
regards to price to the public, cost of updating current technologies, researching new technologies,
and implementing new infrastructure. Natural gas has lower costs related to infrastructure and
technology changes than renewable energy, but when compared to coal, it has higher public cost as
well as higher implementation costs. Consequently, for the greatest amount of happiness for people,
which is related to lower costs, coal is the best energy source. Furthermore, natural gas has a much
higher efficiency than renewables and coal, which have similar efficiencies. Human fulfilment,
coming from happiness in the utilitarian theory, relates to the best/most effective use of resources,
i.e. people do not like to waste time or money. Therefore, natural gas, with

Persuasive Speech On Food
Lets talk food! I m not going to write about what you should be eating, and what you shouldn t be
eating. I am merely here to discuss something all mountain bikers crave from time to time, rad
meals that satisfy our stomachs and damn it, taste good! Oh no, this food does not qualify as
health food and is certainly not the kind of food that a lab rat athlete consumes in order to be as
light as possible. I m talking about food that would never be considered to be part of a
regimented training plan, but we are after all mountain bikers and we tend to be to a greater
extent a little more laid back than our roadie counterparts. We are not afraid to indulge when
needed in order to satisfy a nagging craving in a rebellious way, such as scarfing down a couple
of corn dogs as a reward for that gnarly singletrack we have mastered. Mountain bikers have
ravenous appetites and have been known to indulge in copious amounts of food and drink after a
long ride. We all have our favorites and you know what makes your mouth water.
Being that we are cyclists, many of us do attempt to make a concerted effort to choose a diet that
is well balanced and packed with nutrition. It is a well known fact that in order to become quicker
on your bike you need to eat properly, otherwise you can become sluggish and have no energy
reserves left for your next mountain bike adventure, but sometimes we do need to cut loose, say
screw it and let our growling stomachs take over our brains.

The Brahma Kumaris Meditation Center
The more you meditate, the more helpful you can be to others, and the more deeply you will be
in tune with God. This quote was said by Paramahansa Yogananda and is a wonderful quote that
spoke to me because I do have a close relationship to God and being helpful to other people is really
important to me. I attended the Brahma Kumaris meditationcenter to learn more about what
meditation consists of and expand my knowledge on why this is a big part in the Hindu religion.
In class we I learned about the different types of yogathat is practiced in Hinduism. Jhana yoga,
Bhakti yoga, Karma yoga, and Raja yoga are the different types of yoga practiced and I had some
sort of understanding on what I would possibly see in the meditation session. I did some research
on what the Brahma Kumaris meditation center was about and their main goal. In the Brahma
Kumaris meditation center they focus on specifically raja yoga and focusing on self reflection and
positivity. My first session at the meditation center was enlightening and very interesting because of
the new things I learned and what they focus on to help people overcome obstacles in their lives.
The main goal of raja yoga is to achieve control over the mind and emotions, to prevent negative
thoughts and focus on the positive aspects in your life and in general. My initial reaction once I
was inside the meditation center was that it was small and the atmosphere was comfortable. It felt
like a safe place to meditate and had no

The British army is one of the strongest army s in the world. The British army defeated many
different armies with strong strategy, strong weapons, and strong soldiers. The British defeated
the French with many things like having the better strategy, more well advanced gunfire and
better trained soldiers. The British army defeated the French s army in the hope of gaining world
power. The British army and their generals came up with a good strategy to outsmart the French
army and was able to win many battles against the French army. The strategy that the French army
had was not good enough to stop the British strong strategy. The British army claimed much world
by defeating the French with their smart and intelligent leaders who came up with a great strategy
to defeat the French and claim the Caribbean island. The gunfire that the British army has was
more powerful than the French army. The French s gunfire was no match compared to the strength
of the British s guns, due to the power the British had over the French this caused the British army

Phychoanalysis In Delacroix s Liberty Leading The People
While feminism and Marxism work well in hybrid approaches to Delacroix s Liberty Leading
the People, the same cannot be said for every methodology. This is especially true in regards to
psychoanalysis. It is difficult to apply this approach to an older artist like Delacroix. The
methodology is so recent and grounded in being able to converse with the artist. In the case of
Delacroix, scholars base their psychoanalytic findings on the artist s writings, both letters and
journals. While this can be useful in some cases, such as Wilkin s use of it to determine
Delacroix s opinions on other artists, it is not when trying to determine Delacroix thoughts on
himself and his own art. This means the scholarship is based on Delacroix s self fashioning.
While one can speculate on the subconscious motivations behind his writings, they simply do not
add any depth to our understanding of Liberty Leading the People. Scholars try to link
psychoanalysis with biography to ground their findings, but this only makes the biography method
appear faulty and compromises readers willingness to accept fact. Thus, psychoanalysis does not
add anything substantial to the study of Delacroix s painting and should not be used in
conjunction with the hybridization of biography, formalism, or social history. An example of a
scholar trying to utilize psychoanalysis Jack J. Spector s article Delacroix s Liberty on the
Barricades in 1815 and 1830 from 1996. In this study, Spector unsuccessful tries to

Parliamentary Sovereignty Is No Longer, If It Ever Was...
Parliamentary sovereignty is no longer, if it ever was, absolute (Lord Hope). Discuss with
reference to at least three challenges to the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty. Parliamentary
sovereignty is the concept that Parliament has the power to repeal, amend or create any law it
wishes and therefore no body in the UK can challenge its legal validity. There are many people
who would argue that this is a key principle to the UK Constitution, on the other hand, there are
those who strongly believe that this idea is one of the past, and that the idea of the UK
Parliament being sovereign is false. One of these people is Lord Hope, who said Parliamentary
sovereignty is no longer, if it ever was, absolute . During the last 50 years there have been a
variety of developments that have proved to be a challenge for the legitimacy of parliamentary
sovereignty, and the ones which will be examined in this essay are: the devolution of powers to the
Scottish Parliament; The United Kingdoms entry into the European Unionin 1973; and finally the
power of judicial review. Starting with the devolution of powers, these challenges will all be
evaluated when discussing whether or not the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty applies to the
United Kingdom. Westminster s sovereignty has been gradually diminishing over time as varying
amounts of power have been devolved to Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland. In this essay, the

Animal Breeding Is Good For The Community And Immoral
Many people believe that breeding animals is not good for the community and immoral. This
statement is extremely broad. Instead, the statement should read, specifically, that irresponsible
animal breeding is bad for the animals as well as the reproduction industry. Knowing the
differences between responsible and irresponsible breeding is crucial to understanding the
consequences of reckless breeding. Careless breeding creates healthand behavioral defects as well
as overpopulation. The negative consequences of irresponsible breeding should not only become
more mainstream, but also more carefully regulated, which results in the stopping of the practice.
Major details differentiate between responsible and reckless breeding. The biggest is the use of
healthy, unrelated animals to produce the offspring by responsible breeders. Contrary to this, it is
common that irresponsible breeders will use a technique called inbreeding. Inbreeding is when
two animals, who are closely related, reproduce which causes serious health defects. An example
of irresponsible breeding is the use of puppy mills which then sell to the public and pet stores. It is
strongly advised that people do not buy petsfrom stores because it promotes irresponsible breeding.
Trustworthy breeders usually are self made and use their own pets to produce offspring knowing
they are healthful. Not only do they use their own healthy pets, they make sure that a good partner
is used which results in healthy, well mannered

Immigration Policy Essay
In immigration policy, there has been several programs and acts that are represented through
significant moments. The first to discuss is the Chinese Exclusion Act, which was among one of
the first immigration policy to exist within the United States. As stated in American immigration: a
very short introduction, Gerber explains that Dennis Kearney, a Californian politician, had a
disdain for Chinese immigrants and feared they would take over the workforce in California. In
1882, Kearney succeeds in promoting his agenda and passes the Chinese Exclusion Act, which calls
for the deportation of Chinese immigrant workers (Gerber 35). Furthermore, Gerber quotes
historian Mae Ngai, as she states that this act soughts for massive racial engineering ... Show more

As such, the Bracero program is also another immigration policy that is significant in United States
history. Also, this program was created with an intention for Mexicans to return back to Mexico
after the war ended, but several of them stayed which is also why this program is significant in the
immigrant narrative. Lastly, another piece worth noting is the internment of Japanese folk which
happened after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Due to this act, Japanese immigrants and Japanese
Americans were forced into internment camps, revoked of rights as citizens for Japanese
Americans, and lost all their belongings, such as homes, businesses, and cars (Daniels 88). Between
the three of these moments, they have differences, For example, they all targeted different
population, the Japanese were placed in internment camps, the Bracero program encouraged
immigration, and the Chinese Exclusion Act forced Chinese immigrants to leave the country. Some
of the similarities that these moments share is that they all targeted a specific population and
sentiments towards these populations grew after these moments

Comparing Dante Alighieri s Inferno And The Faerie Queene
Both Dante Alighieri s Inferno and Edmund Spenser s The Faerie Queene depict wooded forests
wrought with transformed men as trees. In the Inferno and The Faerie Queene an existential
conundrum of compromised identities leaves Pier della Vigne and Fraudubio sans human choice.
Dehumanized and disfigured, the individuals that comprise the trees still retain human qualities like
talking, breathing, and, even, bleeding under certain circumstances. Within each space, whether it
is considered a definite locus amoenus or a locus horribilis, the most significant human attribute to
which these trees cling is bleeding and thus they have a small handful of feelings and emotions still
within each of them. Instead of their ripped branches symbolizing death and decay, the breaking of
the branches within Inferno13 and The Faerie Queene1.2, give the trees life as if nothing has
changed. While the bleeding infers a loss of identity in both, redeemable only for one of the two, it
also lets their stories be told. Their stories, sad in nature, have redemptive qualities and move the
two pilgrims that listen to their doleful tales. The Inferno illustrates the journey of Dante the
pilgrim as he travels through the nine circles of Hell wherein each circle objectifies a specific sin
like lust, gluttony, greed or violence; there the sinners endure eternal punishment. In the seventh
circle, the circle of violence, Dante interacts with the suicides and profligates. Condemned to live

The Chrysanthemums
Prompt: How do the chrysanthemums as well as other symbols throughout the short story show

A Potential for Equality Humans, just as flowers, cannot fully live without sunlight. They cannot
develop without nourishment, and most of all they cannot flourish if not carefully tended to. Just as
the Chrysanthemums fight to stay strong and meaningful in the short story, The Chrysanthemums by
John Steinbeck, the main character, Emily, tries to do the same. Both the setting and overall mood

Elisa s frustration of being held back as a woman is reflected in her masculine description because
she wishes to be treated as a man; with equality and recognition. Elisa s hard work and passion she
puts into her chrysanthemums makes her feel strong and powerful. But the chrysanthemums also
symbolize Elisa and her limited possibilities because they are both often overlooked.
Throughout the short story, Elisa has a strong connection with her chrysanthemums. Not only does
their maintenance take up most of her time, but they resemble her role in society quite
figuratively. From their physical appearances to their overall meaning to the world, both the
flowers and Elisa lack any sort of significance. Chrysanthemums are most often referred to by
their symbol of optimism and joy; which are both feelings brought to Elisa as she tends to her
flowers. Also being perennials, these flowers come back year after year which is represented
through the reoccurring theme of Elisa s strive to be equal. The chrysanthemums not only represent
her role in society, but they also speak for many women throughout the world today that deserve
more exposure and equality than they are given.

More than fifty years after two simple words black and power captured the nations attention, many
people still struggle with what to make of them. The concept of Black Power, despite being around

fascination to heightened, emotionally charged memories or ideas. Oftentimes torn between
veneration and vilification of the public and private politics of Black Poweradherents, much of the

Published in 2006, Peniel Joseph s first comprehensive account of the history of the Black Power
movement in the United States was written against a historiographical backdrop that paid little or
selective attention to the distinct ideological and activist roots of the Black Power advocates who
rose to influence in the late 1960s. Addressing a narrative that at best illustrated the young activists
as naГЇve and mislead, and at worst as criminal and self centered demagogues to be blamed for the
dissolution of the interracial civil rights coalition, Joseph centers his works around the emergence
of a rather apolitical Black Nationalism that turns its focus increasingly toward a more activist
stance. Concurrent with the evolution of Malcolm X, the politics of Black Power, Joseph argues,
became more and more politicized, culminating in separate parties, which, independently of the
political mainstream, pursued a politics of African American self determination. In contrast to
those scholars who consider the Black Power phase as part of the long civil rights movement,
Joseph defines it as a distinct form of radical African

Taking a Look at Website Optimization
Website optimisation plays an important role in web development and maintenance. In this
article, we look at some basic website optimisation tricks one can use to help increase a site s
search engine ranking and increasing the traffic. Meta Description, Meta Keywords and Title
tags are still used by some search engines in order to catalog and rank Web pages. So, at the top
of each page, place a title tag to identify the document s overall content. It is also important to
write an accurate Meta description tag. Also, add a Meta keyword tag to help reveal the most
important keywords for each page to search engines. To make your website perform well with
search engines, use keywords on the Home and other essential pages. It s important to use these
keywords strategically throughout the website s content. Try and focus on areas that register
well with search engines (this also includes bold headings). Embed keywords in the anchor text
and try to use keywords to create a common theme or topic throughout the content on your
website. The reason for this is that search engines look for a theme on a website to produce more
relevant results. If you re not sure what keywords to use, softwares like WordTracker can help.
Remember that keyword proximity is also crucial for website optimisation. So make sure to place
your keywords as close to each other as possible, but also make sure that the content remains clear.
Most importantly, ensure an apt keyword weight or density. This

Unity in diversity is the highest possible attainment of a civilization, a testimony to the most noble
possibilities to the human race. This attainment is made possible through passionate concern for

Jazz Influences on the 20th Century
Jazz Influence on the 20th Century
Jazz is considered one of the most influential types of music in American history. Some of the
greatest artists in the world have contributed to the success jazz has had not only on American
history, but throughout the world. Jazz music has come to serve as the base of many music styles in
the United States. This paper will explain the history of jazz, where it all came from, and the effect it
has had on the American culture in the 20th century. To start off, Meltingpot.fortuecity.com states
that in the 1930 s and 1940 s jazz was at its peak. Most of the jazz scene started in New Orleans.
Other major cities throughout the Midwest, such as Memphis, St. Louis, and Chicago have their

The jazz era carried a lifestyle that lifted up anyone s feelings when they would sit down and
listen. During the Great Depression, the record industry was at its all time low. But with the
sound of jazz, those numbers sky rocketed quickly jumping from ten million to about fifty
million. From New Orleans all the way up to New York, jazz was a form of life that lifted people
through hard times. Additionally, Meltingpot.fortuecity.com states that the other jazz era was a
form of music called Bebop. Although swinging may have launched the art status of jazz by
putting it in the ears and the mind of the world, it was bebop that took to the mainstream because
of the forming of the draft during World War 2. Many of the well known players were
implemented into the armed forces, so this gave the chance to smaller, up and coming bands to
raise and take the lead on a new music wave. Also, while the music in America was changing,
this gave the chance for jazz to change, too. Bebop was revolutionary and it did not follow the
history of jazz, it formed its own unique style and took off with it. Others view bebop, though, as
the end of jazz music. However, we know now that it became the father of all and is widely known
as the changing point of the jazz history.
The last topic that is to be covered is how the music of jazz is compared to the jazz of today. In the
early years, jazz was mainly a set style that had a lot of distinction from the rest of the styles

Negative Stereotypes Of Gay Bars And Gay Nightclubs
Introduction
Since The 1930s, gay bars and gay nightclubs have been around. The bar called the White Horse,
in Oakland, California, has been opened since 1933. It is known to be the first gay bar to be opened
here in America. Being gay in the 1930s was brutal. Same gender sex was a felony, and being
caught in a gay bar could cost someone their job... In a society that viewed gays as barley
human, the White Horse allowed a level of freedom that in the 1940s or 1950s was liberating
(Duffy 2016). With time changes and people being more accepted, gay bars and gay nightclubs
started opening all across America. One of the many gay nightclubs here in Denver is known as
Tracks. It was opened in 1980. On October 5th, 2017, an experiential observation at the Tracks
nightclub was made. During this experience, it was observed that these people that identified as
either gay, lesbian, or bisexual were acting as normal human beings in a heterosexual nightclub.
Although the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender movement acts have been created to allow
this community to be more open and unafraid, it has had a history of negative stereotypes against
LGBT nightclubs which actually benefit this community within psychological components, social

Uses And Methods Of A Magnetic State Reaction

Meet Me Narrative
Hi, there first name is Christina, last name is Cepeda. It s a pleasure to finally meet you! You
should know that the only reason you were able to recognize me is because I am 5 feet, 7 inches
tall, not skinny, more on the average side (I d like to think). I have long naturally curly hair,

in the church chore. We moved from Reedley, Ca to Parlier, Ca when I was eight years old. The
City of Parlier is small with mostly Spanish speaking in the community. Peaches, nectarines, and
grapes surround the farm labor town. Both my parents grew up working in the fields most of
their lives. My dad had up to an 6th grade education and my mom went to high school, dropped
out and later returned to school at age forty six years old, receiving her AA degree at Reedley

My Experience With Multiple Sclerosis
In my everyday world I don t think twice about how I am going to get through the day. Waking
up, getting dressed, and getting to school or work are very routine for me. I have been living life
without thinking about how those with disabilities get through their day. What struggles they
might see that I over look, such as brushing their teeth or eating a meal. So given the opportunity
to experience just how these individual s daily activities are with a neurological disorder helped
me see just how lucky I am. I have always been interested in the neurological aspect of therapy,
and so I decided to experience what it would be like to be someone with multiple sclerosis, or MS. I
have never been around anyone who has multiple sclerosis, so this was all new to me. Before I
could even begin to recreate multiple sclerosis I had to do some research on what it was. I found
that multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that disturbs the nervous system.1 Those who
have this disease have destroyed myelin sheaths, causing the brain to improperly send signals
throughout the body. Multiple sclerosis symptomscan come and go due to triggers such as
infections, known as relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis. While some people may have... Show

After going through my day as an individual with multiple sclerosis, I can now say that I
understand more about this disease than I did before. If I were ever to encounter a patient who has
been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I now know what to expect from them. Giving them time to
relax and not to rush them through any movements or exercises. Always making sure they are
comfortable in the physical therapy setting, and even their home and outdoor environments. For
those going through their everyday lives with multiple sclerosis, I would consider them strong and

Kiowa Tribe Research Paper
Kiowa: The Kiowa Indian tribe s origins can be followed back to their residence by the
Yellowstone River in western Montana during the late eighteenth century. The Kiowa, along with
the Plains Apache Indians migrated southeast to the Black Hill of Wyoming in 1775. At the turn of
the new century, the two tribes migrated once again to the Arkansas River where the Lakota Sioux
and Cheyenne Indians were settled. This new found home possessed mild weather, sufficient
grazing and was full of bison and feral horse herds. As a result, the Kiowa tribe was adapted and
became skilled at hunting bison and riding horseback. The Kiowa were known for capturing
mustangs in the Staked Plains and then training them for purposes such as, hunting, warfare, and...

Army officials began labeling the Kiowa Indians and their allied groups as hostiles due to the fact
that some members affiliated with the alliance had apparently defiled reservation boundaries in
Texas and northern Mexico (Kracht 1). After the conclusion of the conflict between whites and
Indians in the southwestern plains, many tribes were forced to live life in designated reservation
areas. The Kiowa tribe and many other tribes alike lived life in poverty for many years following
due to the subjugation of the federal government fostering a dependent Indian culture. It was not
until WW2 until the Kiowa tribe regained their pride and renewed their warrior spirit. What is
often overlooked is the immense impact that the Kiowa and other Indian members had on America
s success during its conflict with the Axis powers. In August of 1941, Native speaking Indians were
recruited to develop specialized military terms that would be untranslatable to enemy listeners.
These recruits created terms such as, tutsahkuna tawo i (sewing machine gun [machine guns]),
wakaree e (turtle [tanks]) and Po sa taiboo (Crazy White Man [Hitler]) , allowing soldiers to

Why Nhs ( National Health Service ) Organisations Need...
NHS has undergone many changes since its inception in 1948 and it has become a clichГ© to say
that only thing which is constant in the NHS is change. There are many drivers of these changes
the external and internal, the patient led, the policy led and also the changes driven by politics
(Buchanan et al, 2013) and finances (DOH, 2010). This essay will critically analyse models of
change and how they are relevant to my organisation (NHS). This essay will also critically evaluate
human dimensions of change and how they impact on success and implementation of
organisational change.
Why NHS (National Health Service) Organisations Need Change?
Usually a need to change a service is identified, based on feed back from staff or patients, though
there are numerous examples in the NHS when the managers or ministers (Darzi, 2008, Francis
2013) were forced to take decisions because of critical incidents or massive failure noted by an
external review of an NHS Trust (Francis, 2013, Berwick, 2013). Lord Darzi s (2008) NHS Next
Stage Review described a model of clinician led change leadership in the NHS (The King Fund,
2011), by doing so Lord Darzi aspired to provide frontline staff with greater freedom to make
positive changes to deliver best quality of care.
In a multilayered and complex organisation like NHS usually big changes are driven by national
level policies or enquiries (Simon, 1979). For example Francis (2013) indicated that there were
massive failures of leadership and

Common and Civil Law Legal Systems
Common and Civil law legal systems
According to Zimmermann there are as many legal systems as there are national states . Every
country has its own unique legal system. However, we can allocate among them three main legal
systems. These are: Civil Law, Common Law and Islamic Law. Civil and Common Laws are the
most influential legal systems in the world, especially in its Western part. All three of these legal
systems have existed and developed for many centuries. Further will follow the description of the
historically appearance of each legal system separately.
Civil legal system is considered to be the oldest and the most widespread one. It also known as
Continental, Roman or Romano Germanic law. In general, Roman law consists of a ... Show more

Equity deals with situations by applying notions of good sense and fairness .[4] (Elliott, C Quinn,
F, 1996).The law is dominantly created by judge and often without checking the legislation, only
by drawing analogy the previous similar cases. This moment shows the difference of the legislators
in civil law and in common law. In the civil law, judges should apply the law, which was created
by the legislator, on the basis of separation of powers. On the other hand, in common law the judge
is given the power to create the law.
Another difference between civil and common law system is the force of precedents. In civil
law system, the court decides the particular cases according to the legislation and legal norms.
But in the common law the courts are supposed not only to solve the cases, but also give an
example of how similar cases have to be solved in the future. This means, that decisions, which are
made by higher level courts in a specific areas are binding the lower ones to follow them. This
makes the court in the common law the basis of legislation.
Court procedures are also differentiating in both civil and common legal systems. We all know that
at the court two parties cooperate by presenting their evidence to each other. Civil legal system has
an inquisitorial procedure. In inquisitorial procedure the judge is the active person, who also takes
more investigative role. Common law countries use the accusatorial system, which is also known as

  • 2. Kids Having Kids Essay Linnie, from one of the poorest areas of Washington, D.C., started having sex when she was only eleven. Girls from disadvantaged homes are three to four times more likely to have children. By the time Linnie was fifteen, she was pregnant. As soon as she found out, her boyfriend of five years left her. This is very common when it comes to teenage pregnancy. More teens are having sex and getting pregnant then ever before! These girls must decide what to do about their child, and that is a very hard decision! There are about four million teens that are sexually active in the U.S. Only about half of them use protection. There are many influences in a young person s life. Mass media is a big part of the influence. Television... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you have sex then you must know something can happen and you are risking having a child. If you decide to keep the child you must realize that your years of being a kid are basically over. You will have many more responsibilities as a teen with having a child then just a regular teen! You will have to get a job to support yourself as well as your child. That could even mean quitting school. The solution to pregnancy for teenage girls is one of these choices: abortion, adoption, or raising the child yourself. No matter which is chosen, there will be an emotional cost. Choosing abortion or adoption usually means that the woman isn t prepared to become a parent and knows it. Children need diapers, food, toys, medical care, clothes, and many other things. Most teenagers cannot afford to buy all those things and still pay for themselves. When teens choose abortion they can eventually go back to living their old lives. In the past few decades, abortion has become very common! Since abortion is so common these days, the adoption rate has decreased rapidly. The questions that adoption agencies ask are much tougher than ever before. When teens put their children up for adoption they have the option of still seeing them. A down side to adoption is that the girl will still have to go through nine months of being pregnant. If you choose to raise your child then you have to get a job and make enough ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Thomas Jefferson And The United States Thomas Jefferson To begin with, Thomas Jefferson was born April 13, 1743, at Shadwell, Virginia, to Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph, one of Virginia s most prestigious families. Throughout his long life he died at eighty three years old Thomas Jefferson devoted himself to the building and governing of the United States. He served in a number of positions, from Ambassador to France, Governor of Virginia, Secretary of State, Vice President and as the third president of the United States. Yet, what Thomas wanted to be remembered best was for the founding of University of Virginia, for authoring the Declaration of Independence and as the author for the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom. He was the epitome of a Renaissance man, who prided himself on his knowledge of science, agriculture, music and the arts as well as architecture, one of his chief loves. When he was twenty six years old he inherited a large amount of land from his father on which he built his famous house Monticello. The house sits at the top of a hill near Richmond Virginia, hence its name which literally translates into beautiful mountain. Three years later he married Martha Wayles Skelton and together they had a total of six children. However, only two lived to be adults, and Martha died only ten years after their marriage. He never remarried. In addition to the land, Jefferson inherited a number of slaves from his father and father in law which totaled approximately 200 in any given ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After being postponed for two times (June 20, 2007 and November 22, 2007), an election for the Nepalese Constituent Assembly was held on April 10, 2008. The assembly is mandated with drafting of a new constitution as business of the government and all other affairs are being run on interim constitution so far. For the first time in history of Nepal, the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) won 220 seats from a house of 575 elected seats. The party became the largest party in the Constituent Assembly and after deliberation and dialogue with other political parties, Chairman of the party Prachanda took oath in August 2008 as the first ever elected prime minister of the country. However, the party has failed to craft out new constitution of the country so far as other political parties in the house are not actively participating in discussion for new constitution of the country. The UCPN (M) enjoys absolute majority in the house and can draft a new constitution on its own but it is still pending which is worrisome for many in Nepal. Where Did The English Evolved Into A Modern Language English is the official language of many countries all over the world and is spoken more and more every day( How English Evolved Into a Modern Language. ). Modern English is the product of the invasions of England over a long period of time( Where Did the English Language Come From? ). Throughout history English has influenced and been influenced by many different languages( A Brief History of the English Language. ). Historically, English is divided into three periods: Old English or Anglo Saxon, Middle English, and Modern English( What Are the Origins of the English Language ). Old English began when certain Germanic tribes migrated to Britain in the fifth century A.D. Although the period of Old English continues up to the end of the eleventh century, there are no records of it from before the seventh century( What Are the Origins of the English Language ). There were four distinct dialects of Old English: Northumbrian, Mercia, Kentish and West Saxon. This is known through differences in spelling. After 900 AD West Saxon became widely used as a standard written language, and is sometimes referred to as Classic West Saxon ( Borrowing in Old English ). There was a large influx of words into the language during the period of Old English. • 6. Jefferson Vs Hamilton Essay Following the ratification of the Constitution in 1788, the 1790s in the United States was a period of unrest that characterized a new country with little experience. A partisan divide was formed during this time period, due to the establishment of Hamilton s plan which resulted in conflict of interest between Federalists and Republicans, the U.S involvement within the French and British conflict, and the domestic affairs that dominated Adam s presidency. While each issue had strong opposition, the true problem was rooted in a government that was more focused on combating tyranny, rather than finding resolutions to the conflicts at hand. Alexander Hamilton was the secretary of treasury during Washington s presidency. In 1790, Hamilton established a five step program that essentially privatized the state treasury, and validated stronger bonds in industry based foreign trade. This policy had support from merchants, manufacturers and financiers, but not small farmers, headed by Jefferson and Madison, who wanted the U.S to stay agrarian and expand Westward. From these two ideals sprouted partisan politics; Federalists under Hamilton, and Republicans under Jefferson and Madison. The U.S Founders were primarily focused on preventing the abuse of power when creating the Constitution, and thus there was no method to resolving the conflict that... American citizens supported this revolt as Americans historically hate tyranny, while the government saw it as a way of raising the prospect of anarchy within their own country. The John Jay Treaty of 1794 gave Britain priority in American trade, which in return concluded the U.S. involvement with France. This alignment with the British monarchy deepened the partisan divide in the states, with those in support aligning themselves with the Federalist party, while those in opposition, with the Republican ... Teenagers between 15 17 nowadays are using smartphones without limits. Everywhere you turn you see teens bending down or swiping or clicking their phones screen or sleeping with their smartphones under the pillow. Day after day smartphones are becoming more central to teenagers lives. A smartphone could be well defines as a portable phone that has additional functions parallel to personal digital assistance devices. Smartphones simplify communication and offer fast and easy access to almost every single information needed in teens everyday life. But the fact the smartphones took place over other devices such as cameras, clocks, library books, and computer games make them more and more important, which also makes teens dependent to them. The benefits could be severely undermined if mishandling and over use are not kept in check and under controlled. Although older teenagers would disagree their use of smartphone should be monitored by parents, because smartphone are distracting teenagers, causing them health problems, in addition to encouraging them sexually. Teenagers are being distracted by their smartphones in many different ways, that s why the use of them should be monitored by parents. The synonymous term freedom of expression is sometimes used to indicate not only freedom of verbal speech but any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. In practice, the right to freedom of speech is not absolute in any country and the right is commonly subject to limitations, such as on hate speech . Judith Lichtenberg has outlined conditions in which freedom of the press may constrain freedom of speech, for example where the media suppresses information or stifles the diversity of voices inherent in freedom of speech. Lichtenberg argues that freedom of the press is simply a form of property right summed up by the principle no money, no voice . Origins and academic freedom Freedom of speech and expression has a long history that predates modern international human rights instruments. It is thought that ancient Athens democratic ideology of free speech may have emerged in the late 6th or early 5th century BC.[12] Two of the most cherished values of the Roman Republic were freedom of religion and freedom of speech. In Islamic ethics, freedom of speech was first declared in the Rashidun period by the caliph Umar in the 7th century AD. In the Abbasid Caliphate period, freedom of speech was also declared by al Hashimi (a cousin of Caliph al Ma mun) in a letter to one of the religious opponents he was attempting to convert through reason. According to George Makdisi and Hugh Goddard, the idea of academic freedom in universities was modelled on Islamic custom as practiced in the medieval Madrasah system from the 9th century. • 9. Goals For The Goal Setting Goal setting is when people set specific challenging goals can powerfully drive behavior and boost performance (OrdГіГ±ez, Scheitzer, Galinsky, Bazerman, 2009, p.2). There are a lot of pros and cons to a lot of topics in life. Goal settings have a lot of pros and cons as well. After reading the three articles there are many more cons than pros to goal setting. Goal setting is very useful to mangers, but the attackers are blowing things out of proportion. The first pro of goal setting is too increase performance. The specific challenging goals increase performance more than the unchallenging goals (OrdГіГ±ez et al., 2009, p.3). So why does setting specific challenging goals increase performance? So long as a person is committed to the goal, has the requisite ability to attain it, and does not have conflicting goals, there is a positive, linear relationship between goal difficulty and task performance (OrdГіГ±ez et al., 2009, p.3). Workers committed to goals will try harder to complete the goals because there is a path to follow, they can develop plans to achieve goals, and with goals there is more focus to the goals that it must be achieved so the workers work harder to complete them. There is also more effort and the workers become persistent in completing the goal. Another benefit of goal setting is that people are more committed to completing challenging goals because they company sets them and it will benefit the company. • 12. Cyanide ( Cn- ) Compounds And Deviations Of It Cyanide (CN anion) compounds and deviations of it (HCN, KCN) have been in use for many years as poisons in various settings. In Ancient Egypt plants containing trace concentrations of cyanide have been used as lethal poisons and in World War II HCN was employed with a base to mass exterminate millions of people in Nazi camps. Another historically used method of cyanide poisoningis through gas chambers created by addition of a cyanide salt into an acid to create HCN (g). Although many forms of cyanide exist, the most common is HCN, which naturally is released into the atmosphere from plants, volcanoes and bacteria/fungi. The primary source of cyanide poisoning in humans is through accidental ingestion of plants. More than 2,000 plant species contain cyanogenic glycosides that when ingested can be rapidly hydrolyzed into cyanide. This rapid hydrolysis occurs when cell structure of the plant is disturbed thus plant products that are incorrectly processed may lead to cyanide poisoning. Cyanogenic compounds are present in surprisingly large number of common foods such as sweet potatoes, cassava, bamboo and lima beans1. An area of growing concern is inhalation of tobacco smoke, which is another common source of cyanogenic compounds. Many idiopathic syndromes have been shown to be associated with failure in detoxification mechanisms specifically targeting cyanide compounds2. Symptoms of cyanide poisoning generally mimic those of suffocation or climbing mountains at high ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

McGuire recounts the important events of the civil rights movement and highlights the courage exhibited by African American women. She hits the nail on the head in terms of the civil rights movement. The civil rights movement was fueled by the courage and the togetherness of the black people, particularly black women. These Black women had the courage to speak up; the courage to fight for justice; the courage to defend black womanhood. Set on the Nation, a tropical island in the Great Southern Pelagic Ocean, a substitute for the South Pacific, the book details the events that follow a tsunami that causes widespread devastation across the Great Southern Pelagic. Shortly after the wave, Mau again identifies as a blue hermit crab, remarking that he [has] no soul [because he did not undergo the ceremonies that would grant one a man soul]. His boy soul had vanished with the island, and he d never get a man soul now. Six years later, they developed a coffee brewer that would brew one superior cup of coffee at a time. The little pods of coffee or tea that would be placed inside the innovative coffeemakers were called Keurig cups, which became k cups. The key concepts behind k cups are controlled brewing and variety. The amount of finely ground coffee and tea inside the pods is portioned very precisely. Controlling how much premium coffee or tea is in the pod is a way of determining the taste of the final product. The k cups developed for a Keurig Coffee Maker are perfect for offices. As more individuals turn to cruises to fulfill their vacation needs, and arctic cruises are gaining in popularity due to melting sea ice caused by climate change the issue of sustainability must be discussed, particularly the environmental, economic and cultural impact that these enormous floating hotels will undoubtedly have on the people and environment of Canada s Arctic. The 1960 s marked the beginning of cruise tourism ( Brida, et.al, 2013). However, it wasn t until the 70 s and 80 s that the cruise industry began to experience moderate growth. All of this changed however in 90 s when cruise tourism took root in Europe, Asia and Oceania and 3.8 million people worldwide embarked on ocean adventures ( Brida, et.al, 2013). Although the industry has experienced continual growth since the 90 s, and cruises are consistently ranked as one of the top preferred vacation type by holiday goers, the cruise tourism industry is still relatively small in relation to other forms of international tourism (Brida, et.al, 2013). One of Gaudi s most impressive and beautiful buildings is Casa BatllГі. GaudГ designed the building for Josep BatllГі, a wealthy aristocrat, as an upmarket home. He had asked Gaudi to tear down the old one to reconstruct a new one. GaudГ managed to convince BattlГі to remodel the existing building instead of tearing it down, and between 1904 and 1906 he redesigned the facade and roof, added an extra floor and completely remodeled the interior. The curves, the colour scheme that is used, the use of bones, it is simply captivating! This is what Gaudi s work is about to create an impact on its viewers. I really appreciate this work of his because he created something completely different, something out of the ordinary. Another one of Gaudi s famous work is the Sagrada Familia. Though it is unfinished it is still on of the famous attractions in Barcelona. Whilst the building was actually started by Francisco de Paula Villar, It was Antonio Gaudi who took over in 1884 by finishing the underground crypt that Villar had begun to give Sagrada Familia a unique twist and a revolutionary design. Renewable energy is the least established method of generating electricity and is therefore still heavily tied up in research. By definition, renewable energy sources have a theoretically limitless amount of energy production since they do not deplete any resources through their use. This means that for as many years as humans inhabit the earth they can use renewable energies, such as solar, wind, hydro power or others, which has much more potential than the 100 years for coal and natural gas. For choosing which energy source the public should invest money in and engineers should invest research in, the criterion detailed above are compared. For cost benefit analysis, shown in Table 1, the effect on future generations is incorporated at the same value as the effect on current generations. For the cost criterion, renewable energy is currently the least beneficial in regards to price to the public, cost of updating current technologies, researching new technologies, and implementing new infrastructure. Natural gas has lower costs related to infrastructure and technology changes than renewable energy, but when compared to coal, it has higher public cost as well as higher implementation costs. Consequently, for the greatest amount of happiness for people, which is related to lower costs, coal is the best energy source. Furthermore, natural gas has a much higher efficiency than renewables and coal, which have similar efficiencies. Oh no, this food does not qualify as health food and is certainly not the kind of food that a lab rat athlete consumes in order to be as light as possible. I m talking about food that would never be considered to be part of a regimented training plan, but we are after all mountain bikers and we tend to be to a greater extent a little more laid back than our roadie counterparts. • 28. Phychoanalysis In Delacroix s Liberty Leading The People While feminism and Marxism work well in hybrid approaches to Delacroix s Liberty Leading the People, the same cannot be said for every methodology. This is especially true in regards to psychoanalysis. It is difficult to apply this approach to an older artist like Delacroix. The methodology is so recent and grounded in being able to converse with the artist. In the case of Delacroix, scholars base their psychoanalytic findings on the artist s writings, both letters and journals. While this can be useful in some cases, such as Wilkin s use of it to determine Delacroix s opinions on other artists, it is not when trying to determine Delacroix thoughts on himself and his own art. This means the scholarship is based on Delacroix s self fashioning. While one can speculate on the subconscious motivations behind his writings, they simply do not add any depth to our understanding of Liberty Leading the People. Scholars try to link psychoanalysis with biography to ground their findings, but this only makes the biography method appear faulty and compromises readers willingness to accept fact. Thus, psychoanalysis does not add anything substantial to the study of Delacroix s painting and should not be used in conjunction with the hybridization of biography, formalism, or social history. Discuss with reference to at least three challenges to the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty. Parliamentary sovereignty is the concept that Parliament has the power to repeal, amend or create any law it wishes and therefore no body in the UK can challenge its legal validity. There are many people who would argue that this is a key principle to the UK Constitution, on the other hand, there are those who strongly believe that this idea is one of the past, and that the idea of the UK Parliament being sovereign is false. One of these people is Lord Hope, who said Parliamentary sovereignty is no longer, if it ever was, absolute . During the last 50 years there have been a variety of developments that have proved to be a challenge for the legitimacy of parliamentary sovereignty, and the ones which will be examined in this essay are: the devolution of powers to the Scottish Parliament; The United Kingdoms entry into the European Unionin 1973; and finally the power of judicial review. Starting with the devolution of powers, these challenges will all be evaluated when discussing whether or not the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty applies to the United Kingdom. Instead, the statement should read, specifically, that irresponsible animal breeding is bad for the animals as well as the reproduction industry. Knowing the differences between responsible and irresponsible breeding is crucial to understanding the consequences of reckless breeding. Careless breeding creates healthand behavioral defects as well as overpopulation. The negative consequences of irresponsible breeding should not only become more mainstream, but also more carefully regulated, which results in the stopping of the practice. Major details differentiate between responsible and reckless breeding. The biggest is the use of healthy, unrelated animals to produce the offspring by responsible breeders. Contrary to this, it is common that irresponsible breeders will use a technique called inbreeding. Inbreeding is when two animals, who are closely related, reproduce which causes serious health defects. An example of irresponsible breeding is the use of puppy mills which then sell to the public and pet stores. It is strongly advised that people do not buy petsfrom stores because it promotes irresponsible breeding. Dehumanized and disfigured, the individuals that comprise the trees still retain human qualities like talking, breathing, and, even, bleeding under certain circumstances. Within each space, whether it is considered a definite locus amoenus or a locus horribilis, the most significant human attribute to which these trees cling is bleeding and thus they have a small handful of feelings and emotions still within each of them. Addressing a narrative that at best illustrated the young activists as naГЇve and mislead, and at worst as criminal and self centered demagogues to be blamed for the dissolution of the interracial civil rights coalition, Joseph centers his works around the emergence of a rather apolitical Black Nationalism that turns its focus increasingly toward a more activist stance. • 39. Examples Of Diversity In One Amazing Thing Tragedies bring forth unity despite diversity. Unity in diversity is the highest possible attainment of a civilization, a testimony to the most noble possibilities to the human race. This attainment is made possible through passionate concern for choice, in an atmosphere of social trust. (Michael Novak). When we try to recognize our common passivity, it may be frightening at first, but it can inspire us to put forth acts of affection, warmth and give birth to the desire of standing united to support one another. Stress, often considered repugnant, may act as an opportunity for us to experience the most wonderful characteristics of life, connections and fondness. The author would like to conclude by saying that while personal or political squabbling might dominate during times of peace, people put their differences aside when they face an external enemy and emerge as a much stronger unit, experiencing the feelings of kindness and unspoken affection for one another. • 40. Jazz Influences on the 20th Century Jazz Influence on the 20th Century Jazz is considered one of the most influential types of music in American history. Some of the greatest artists in the world have contributed to the success jazz has had not only on American history, but throughout the world. Jazz music has come to serve as the base of many music styles in the United States. This paper will explain the history of jazz, where it all came from, and the effect it has had on the American culture in the 20th century. To start off, Meltingpot.fortuecity.com states that in the 1930 s and 1940 s jazz was at its peak. Most of the jazz scene started in New Orleans. Other major cities throughout the Midwest, such as Memphis, St. Louis, and Chicago have their own unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The jazz era carried a lifestyle that lifted up anyone s feelings when they would sit down and listen. During the Great Depression, the record industry was at its all time low. But with the sound of jazz, those numbers sky rocketed quickly jumping from ten million to about fifty million. From New Orleans all the way up to New York, jazz was a form of life that lifted people through hard times. Additionally, Meltingpot.fortuecity.com states that the other jazz era was a form of music called Bebop. Although swinging may have launched the art status of jazz by putting it in the ears and the mind of the world, it was bebop that took to the mainstream because of the forming of the draft during World War 2. Many of the well known players were implemented into the armed forces, so this gave the chance to smaller, up and coming bands to raise and take the lead on a new music wave. Also, while the music in America was changing, this gave the chance for jazz to change, too. Bebop was revolutionary and it did not follow the history of jazz, it formed its own unique style and took off with it. Others view bebop, though, as the end of jazz music. However, we know now that it became the father of all and is widely known as the changing point of the jazz history. The last topic that is to be covered is how the music of jazz is compared to the jazz of today. In the early years, jazz was mainly a set style that had a lot of distinction from the rest of the styles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 42. Negative Stereotypes Of Gay Bars And Gay Nightclubs Introduction Since The 1930s, gay bars and gay nightclubs have been around. The bar called the White Horse, in Oakland, California, has been opened since 1933. It is known to be the first gay bar to be opened here in America. Being gay in the 1930s was brutal. Same gender sex was a felony, and being caught in a gay bar could cost someone their job... In a society that viewed gays as barley human, the White Horse allowed a level of freedom that in the 1940s or 1950s was liberating (Duffy 2016). With time changes and people being more accepted, gay bars and gay nightclubs started opening all across America. One of the many gay nightclubs here in Denver is known as Tracks. It was opened in 1980. On October 5th, 2017, an experiential observation at the Tracks nightclub was made. During this experience, it was observed that these people that identified as either gay, lesbian, or bisexual were acting as normal human beings in a heterosexual nightclub. Although the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender movement acts have been created to allow this community to be more open and unafraid, it has had a history of negative stereotypes against LGBT nightclubs which actually benefit this community within psychological components, social components, and dealing with hate crimes towards this community community. • 43. Uses And Methods Of A Magnetic State Reaction Gadolinium (Gd) doped antiperovskite compounds Mn3Cu1 xGdxN were synthesized by the conventional solid state reaction. With increasing Gd concentration, two magnetic transitions appeared, at a high Curie temperature (TC1) corresponding to paramagnetic (PM) ferromagnetic (FM) transition and a low temperature (TC2) ascribed to the FM antiferromagnetic (AFM) transition. The magnetic relaxation results show the formation of a magnetic metastable state after the FM AFM transition at low temperature(lower than TC2), forming a novel magnetic step feature in the process from AFM to FM under a certain magnetic field. However, besides conventional transition metal (TM) atoms, utilizing the rare earth atoms with 4f electrons to replace Cu has not yet been achieved and may introduce new magnetic couplings such as the f d and f f f couplings. These new exchange interactions may induce novel physical features in the antiperovskite structures. Thus, a systematical investigation on the physical properties of rare earth elements doped Mn3AN is required and may also benefit us in further understanding their intrinsic physical properties and designing a new type of the device based on the antiperovskite compounds. In this study, Gd with a high TC of 289 K was selected to replace Cu, and a series of Mn3Cu1 xGdxN (x = 0.15, 0.17, 0.19, and 0.25) were synthesized. Both the structural and magnetic properties measurement showed that with increasing Gd content, a typical FM PM transition appeared and gradually shifted towards high temperature. Simultaneously, a FM AFM transition accompanied by a crystal transition from cubic to tetragonal was observed and moves to low temperature with increasing Gd content. With x in the range from 0.17 to 0.19, a typical magnetization step characteristic was observed at 50 K owing to the magnetic phase separation. II. The Kiowa tribe and many other tribes alike lived life in poverty for many years following due to the subjugation of the federal government fostering a dependent Indian culture. • 53. Why Nhs ( National Health Service ) Organisations Need... NHS has undergone many changes since its inception in 1948 and it has become a clichГ© to say that only thing which is constant in the NHS is change. There are many drivers of these changes the external and internal, the patient led, the policy led and also the changes driven by politics (Buchanan et al, 2013) and finances (DOH, 2010). This essay will critically analyse models of change and how they are relevant to my organisation (NHS). This essay will also critically evaluate human dimensions of change and how they impact on success and implementation of organisational change. Why NHS (National Health Service) Organisations Need Change? Usually a need to change a service is identified, based on feed back from staff or patients, though there are numerous examples in the NHS when the managers or ministers (Darzi, 2008, Francis 2013) were forced to take decisions because of critical incidents or massive failure noted by an external review of an NHS Trust (Francis, 2013, Berwick, 2013). Lord Darzi s (2008) NHS Next Stage Review described a model of clinician led change leadership in the NHS (The King Fund, 2011), by doing so Lord Darzi aspired to provide frontline staff with greater freedom to make positive changes to deliver best quality of care. In a multilayered and complex organisation like NHS usually big changes are driven by national level policies or enquiries (Simon, 1979). For example Francis (2013) indicated that there were massive failures of leadership and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Civil and Common Laws are the most influential legal systems in the world, especially in its Western part. All three of these legal systems have existed and developed for many centuries. Equity deals with situations by applying notions of good sense and fairness .[4] (Elliott, C Quinn, F, 1996).The law is dominantly created by judge and often without checking the legislation, only by drawing analogy the previous similar cases. This moment shows the difference of the legislators in civil law and in common law. In the civil law, judges should apply the law, which was created by the legislator, on the basis of separation of powers. On the other hand, in common law the judge is given the power to create the law. Another difference between civil and common law system is the force of precedents. In civil law system, the court decides the particular cases according to the legislation and legal norms. But in the common law the courts are supposed not only to solve the cases, but also give an example of how similar cases have to be solved in the future. This means, that decisions, which are made by higher level courts in a specific areas are binding the lower ones to follow them. This makes the court in the common law the basis of legislation. Court procedures are also differentiating in both civil and common legal systems. We all know that at the court two parties cooperate by presenting their evidence to each other. Civil legal system has an inquisitorial procedure. In inquisitorial procedure the judge is the active person, who also takes more investigative role.
