Essay On Safety
Crafting an essay on the subject of safety can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires a delicate
balance between informative content and engaging expression. The difficulty lies not only in the
need to provide relevant and accurate information but also in presenting it in a manner that
captures the reader's attention and emphasizes the importance of the topic.
Safety, as a subject, encompasses a wide range of areas, from workplace safety and road safety
to personal safety and cybersecurity. Each of these facets demands careful research and a
nuanced understanding to develop a comprehensive and cohesive essay. Balancing statistical
data with real-world examples, anecdotes, or case studies adds depth to the essay, making it
more relatable and impactful.
Moreover, addressing the multifaceted nature of safety involves navigating through various
perspectives and potential solutions. This complexity requires an in-depth analysis of the
underlying causes, preventative measures, and the effectiveness of existing safety protocols.
Articulating these aspects coherently within the confines of an essay can be a daunting task,
demanding a high level of clarity and organization.
The language used should be accessible yet precise, conveying the seriousness of the topic
without overwhelming the reader. Striking this balance is crucial for ensuring that the essay
resonates with a diverse audience, ranging from experts in the field to those with a general
interest in safety.
In conclusion, writing an essay on safety involves a significant challenge in terms of research,
organization, and effective communication. However, the importance of promoting safety makes
this endeavor worthwhile, as the essay has the potential to raise awareness and contribute to
creating a safer environment for individuals and communities.

Similarities Between Hester Prynne And Legally Blonde
The novel, The Scarlet Letter, and the play, Legally Blonde, both portray a strong
female lead. In the novel, Hester Prynne is labeled with a scarlet letter, A , for
committing a sin. As the story progresses she is able to change the meaning of her
symbol into something more pleasing to the public eye. In the beginning of the play,
Elle Woodsis seen by her peers as a silly, dumb, blonde , but similar to Hester, she is
able to change the way she is seen by others in a positive way. Both of these
independent women use their power to influence their society in order to change
the way they are seen by the people around them. Elle Woods from Legally Blonde
begins her journey as president of her sorority, Delta Nu. She is seen as the happy
little blonde that always wears pink. She is given this stereotype by society. Until
she is able to change stereotype, that is all that most people see her as. Her first
step in changing her reputation is transferring to Harvard s School of Law. Her
initial drive to attend Harvard was to chase after someone she loved. But Elle soon
realized that she enjoyed studying law more than she thought. After many hours
of studying and encouragement from a professor, Elle was able to prove herself in
front of her fellow students. She showed them that she is more than just pink
clothes and scented pink paper. Elle even takes her change a step further, by
proving herself worthy to society in a very important court case. Elle is able to
take charge and evidently win her case, thus helping an innocent person. Elle finds
thrill in this new person she has created within herself and is glad she did it. She
feels as if she is finally more than what society had previously seen her as and is
proud that she was the one who was able to make that change for herself.
Hester Prynne from Hawthorne s, The Scarlet Letter, is marginalized by society for
having committed a sin. She too is given a stereotype by those around her, similar
to Elle Woods. In the beginning, no one dares to speak or even look at Hester
because of the A she wears on her chest. Hester feels as if she needs to change the
meaning of this A that is stuck to her, so she sets out to do so. Every little action that
she does,

Developing America As most may agree, America is a nation that welcomes and is
occupied by many immigrants. Since Americas developmental stages, immigrants
have tackled sorts of obstacles to become American citizens/reside in the Americas.
Many seek voyage to the America in order to gain freedom from governmental rule of
their country, while others may simply seek to acquire their idea of the American.
While some immigrants may not accomplish goals set when leaving their country,
others accomplish their goals and become wealthy and successful US citizens. When
writing the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson and his team may have
had immigration in mind. The founders of the Declaration added, Congress should
establish a uniform rule of naturalization, (Article 1, Section 8) and make immigrants
eligible for federal offices except president and vice president. The founding fathers
believed continued immigration was important to the growth of the nation. To
facilitate growth of the nations population, foreign slave trading was allowed for
twenty years. After twenty twenty years of legal foreign slave trading, congress
deemed foreign slave trading illegal. Immigration continues to be a ongoing topic of
debate. In fact, policies and attitudes towards immigration are continuously
changing.Other leaders, such as John Adams and his administration we against

Basic Fundamentals And Design Parameters Of Patch
CHAPTER 3
BASIC FUNDAMENTALS AND DESIGN PARAMETERS OF PATCH
3.1Introduction As we all know, Selection of antenna is very important in designing
of successful rectenna because antenna is responsible for how much power is
received by the circuitry following after the antenna. This chapter describes the theory
of antenna and its property, design process, simulations and fabrication of an
Microsrip antenna that operates within the microwave frequency range. First we start
with a brief explanation of the main design parameters of an antenna then we briefly
explain the advantages of using microstrip antennas in these applications [4 18]. Also
a brief introduction of the software used for the design and simulations stages. Then
we will explain how making some changes to the shape of the ground plane and the
radiating patch of the antenna can improve the performance. After all the parametric
simulations a final antenna version was chosen and subsequently built.
An antenna also known as midair is an electrical expedient which translates electric
power into radio waves, and apposite to it. It is typically cast off with a radio
transmitter or radio receiver. In broadcast, a radio transmitter deliveries an electric
current wavering at radio frequency (i.e. a high frequency alternating current ) to the
antenna s terminuses, and the antenna produces the energy from the current as
electromagnetic waves (radio waves). In reception, an antenna interrupts certain of
the power of an
Chemical Reaction Essay
There are also some elements that are not a part of any type of family. These elements
are mostly other metals that are located right after the transition metals. There are
some nonmetals that are included in this group. Some of these nonmetals include
silicon, nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus. All elements in this group are some what
reactive. Nitrogen is the most common element. Compounds using nitrogen consist of
silver nitrate, potassium nitrate, and nitric oxide. Silver nitrate is used in many
different chemistry labs.
Oxygen group is the next group found along the periodic table. This group is number
16 which contains the elements oxygen, sulfur, selenium, tellurium and polonium.

The reason that they are the most reactive elements is because they have seven
valence electrons, and they easily can gain one from multiple other elements to form
a compound. Stability is met when an element has eight electrons in their valence
shell, so they easily can bond with other elements. Fluorine, the element with the
highest electronegativity on the periodic table, is the most reactive element on the
periodic table. The most reactiveness goes from the lowest to the highest in the
Halogen Family. Compounds found within the halogen group consist of hydrogen
fluoride, sodium chloride, potassium iodide, hydrogen bromide, and and silver
chloride.
Noble gases make up group 18 in the periodic table. These are the elements that
make up the noble gases: Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon.
Noble gases reactivity is very low because they have no valence electron to give or
share with other elements. Noble gases can be described as odorless, colorless
gases. Noble gases are stable because they have eight electrons and fill up their
outer shell. The intricate chemical details behind the reaction would take years to
clarify and the formula of the colorful solid was later modified as [XeF]+[PtF5]
(www.acs.org). This compound was the very first compound form by using a noble
gas. It was said before this discovery that the noble gases could and would never
form a chemical compound. The significance of the experiment remained clear Today
Finally In To Kill A Mockingbird, The Issue Of Coming Of
Finally in To Kill a Mockingbird, the issue of coming of age has played a major
role all throughout the story. In the beginning of the story, Jem starts out as an
innocent, fun loving boy. He is interested in football, trying to get a glimpse of the
mysterious Boo Radley who lived next door, and playing with his best friend Dill.
As he gets older, he has to deal with the way the town is treating him as well as the
teasing and name calling from kids at school because of his father an attorney

Atticus and his family were the laughing stock of the community. Jem starts to see

One example would be where the traveler comes to fork in the road and has to
make a decision to either take the path that everyone takes or the one that is barely
used. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I /I took the one less traveled by,/ and that
has made all the difference (Frost). In his mind, Frost begins thinking of the pros
and cons of each path. The one path is used regularly, which must mean it is safer
and has a better walking path. The other path is very rarely used which could mean
it is more dangerous, but it would have a lot more adventure awaiting. Ultimately,
Frost decides to travel on the road less taken as a sense of adventure. Sadly, as soon
he gets further down the road, Frost begins contemplating whether or not to go
back and take the other road. This is a reflection back to his life where he is faced
with a problem and has to make a decision. Always wondering what would have
been if he had taken the other path. It is also the time when Frost decides to return
to the United States. Since this poem has been interpreted by many as a coming of
age poem, many speakers at graduations have read this poem to represent the path
that those graduating must now choose as a new phase of their life begins. Other
critics believe it is not a coming of age poem. Many believe the poem was simply a
letter Frost wrote to his friend, and fellow poet, Edward Thomas about time they had

Separation of Powers in the Commowealth
This doctrine was formulated by French philosopher Montesquieu who theorized that
abuse of powers by the three branches would be checked through separating the
branches functionally and physically. This means no branch should perform function
of the other and no person can hold office simultaneously in the branches.
However, there are instances where state courts have influences from the decisions
of cases in the Commonwealth courts. In the ruling made in the case Kable v
Director of public prosecution1996 189 CLR51.This case forbid states court
exceeding federal jurisdiction. Therefore, State Supreme courts rely on decisions of
federal courts and vice versa (Harris, 2013).
In the separation of powers there is the doctrine that courts cannot be vested with
non judicial power and federal judicial powers cannot be vested in a state court. It
goes that if a court exercises non judicial power, then separation of powers will be
violated. The states do not have explicit separation of powers in their respective
constitutions. Parliament is able to vest judicial federal powers with non judicial
powers so long as they do not undermine their integrity. States courts can still exercise
their independence since they have some discretion in some matters.
Looking at the separation of powers in States such as Queensland, there are unique
features. Commonwealth Constitution confers separation of powers but States do not
have constitutional separation of powers. Influence of executive on

Gaga s fame was accelerating fast. Her hit song Just Dance was released to the
radio in 2008, and received both popular and commercial acclaim. The song was
also nominated for a Grammy Award for best dance recordings. The second single
Poker Face , from the album The Fame earned Lady Gaga even more success. The
song topped singles charts in almost every country. The following year, in 2009, she
released the album Fame Monster . Lady Gagareleased Paparazzi , and since then
everything had changed for her. It was a single that pushed her into mainstream music
. Gaga s single Poker Face helped kick start an amazing year for her in 2010. That
year, singles Bad Romance , Alejandro , and a duet with Beyonce Telephone , along
with the Monster Ball Tour, put her first with the public. In 2011, singles Judas , Born

Drug Trafficking Organizations And Drugs
Drug Trafficking Organizations
Imagine living in a place where you can kill anyone you wish and nothing happens
except that they fall dead (Morris 216). With drug trafficking organizations people
in Mexico live in a world where this is part of their everyday lives. More than
16,600 deaths were attributed to drug trafficking in 2011 (Schedler 6). People live
in a world like the Wild West where there seems to be no social control. This is a
problem because innocent people are losing their lives over something that they can
not control. Citizens throughout Mexico have learned to live with the consequences
of organized crime caused by the Mexican drug cartels in their day to day lives.
Drug Trafficking Organizations, otherwise called DTO, are organizations that engage
in criminal activity revolving around the illegal drug trade. According to Andreas
Schedler in his article, The Criminal Subversion of Mexican Democracy, this
criminal activity includes the manufacturing of drugs all the way to the distribution
of them all over the world (9). This is important because if it was not for drug
trafficking and the crimes associated with it, there would not be as much violence in
Mexican society. Furthermore, the process of manufacturing drugs likely involves
many other illegal activities like the use of dangerous chemicals, access to firearms
along with other dangerous weapons, and theft.
There are many DTO s in the country of Mexico. Some have been around for
centuries, while
My Experience In School Counseling At Lumberon
I am progressing toward meeting my goals. I am doing this by getting more
experience in school counseling at Lumberton. I have been able to lead classes on
different topics and talk to students individually to help them. I have also started a
girls group with five fifth grade girls on self esteem. My girls group is my favorite
thing I have done so far. My overall goal this semester was to get more comfortable
with the students and lead classes and session. I have been able to do this through
the help of Mrs. Cruthirds. Each day I am at my site I have learned something new.
I also wanted to get more familiar with a school setting and understand what rules
and guidelines need to be followed. I have learned a great deal about this through

The girls were chosen by Mrs. Cruthirds and we focus on topics of self esteem and
bullying. I conducted and activity with them called Let s be Diamonds . The activity
starts out with me asking them if they know how diamonds are made. We have some
discussion about diamond and how precious they are. Then I ask them if the know
what a cubic zirconia is. I explain to them that a cubic is like a diamond, but does
not have the same value as a diamond. They are both pretty to look at, but are made
differently. We then discussed if we ever have moments in which we are trying to
sparkle like a diamond, but end up being fake like a cubic. I then gave them a
reflection sheet, that ask them to reflect on moments in which they truly shined and
their personal qualities that help them shine. After they completed the worksheet, we
discussed what they wrote. I ended the session by giving them diamonds to place
anywhere they wanted as a reminder that they can shine in the hardest of times.
Many of the girls are victims of bullying or are shy in class. I told them that when
they are having a hard time to take out their diamond and remember that they can
make it through and to focus in on their diamond like qualities that allow them to
Essay on RenГ© Descartes
RenГ© Descartes RenГ© Descartes was a French philosopher and also
mathematician. His method of doubt led him to the famous cogito ergo sum when
translated means I am thinking, therefore I exist . This cogito was the foundation
for Descartes quest for certain knowledge. He explored doubt and how we can
prove our own existence, by taking the first steps of scepticism. His book
Meditations On First Philosophy , was written in six parts. Each representing the six
days that God took to create the world. Not to upset the Church, Descartes would
need to prove the existence of God, and the soul. Within Descartes argument, we find
some important areas. Two, which require focus, are his... Show more content on

He came to the conclusion, that to doubt is to think; and to think is to exist. An
example in Russell s Western philosophical thought is that anything, which doubts,
understands, affirms, conceives, wills, denies, imagines and feels is something,
which is thinking. And feeling, when it occurs in dreams, is thought . So therefore
anything which thinks, also too exists. In Descartes wax example, he takes a piece
of wax from the honeycomb in it s solid form. He observes that there are certain
things, which are apparent towards the senses. The taste of the honey, its
temperature (cold), the size, the colour, and when you tap it, it makes a sound.
Yet, if we place the wax near heat, or a fire, the features and qualities change. No
longer is the shape the same. It has become hot, and when you tap it there is no
sound. This is the wax in its liquid form. So is the wax we see now, the same wax
we saw before these changes? Before these changes were apparent, Descartes
pointed out the difficulties of relying on the senses, of the physical body. In section
31 of Meditation two, he says that the perception he has, is a case not of vision or
touch or imagination nor has it ever been, despite previous appearances but of purely
mental scrutiny . Descartes shows that our senses cannot be used to have knowledge
of things in the external world, and that knowledge of these things must come
through the mind alone.

OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE MOVIE
Freedom Writers is a poignant film based on the book, The Freedom Writers by
Erin Gruwell and her students from Room 203. I really like how the movie captures
the stories of the people from Room 203. The film also shows the different
perspective of the stories written by the students, it help theviewers undertsnad the
problems that they were facing at the moment. Furthermore, the narration of Eva
Hernandez story in the film gave a powerful impact to me. The role of Erin Gruwell
was given justisce by the acting of Hillary Swank and the role of Eva was by the
acting of April Lee Hernandez. Overall, the film is successful in showing its message

Bounty Hunter Social Pressure
After watching the video and witnessing some of the actions of the individuals I
honestly was not surprised what so ever. The fact that many of the individuals chose
not to question the bounty hunter stems from the fact that in society if we see
someone in the power position we are expected to not questions them and obey them
completely. When the bounty hunter had pressured the individuals to help him
detain the woman in the blue jacket for her crime, they were reassured that he was
an actual bounty hunter by his fake badge. The pressure that bounty hunter had
placed upon the individuals is a clear example of social pressure. According to the
textbook, many individuals tend to experience social pressure when they are part of

Compare And Contrast The Roman Empire And The Han
Dynasty
Introduction
Han dynasty was formed by Liu Bang after defeating his rival Xiang Yu. The war
between them lasted for four years. Changan was the capital city currently referred to
as Xian. Han had two dynasties i.e. Western Han and Eastern Han. Some of the
Emperors that Han dynasty had include Wu, Jing, Wen, Gaozu, among others. Roman
Empire ruled the world from its seat in Italy. Roman Empire used its power to
conquer Europe and extended it America.
Similarities between Han Dynasty and Roman Empire
Both empires used the militarism to expand their territories. According to Gibbon,
Edward, Low, (1960, 201), Roman Empire used its army to fight its neighbors. It
can be remembered that Rome used to fight a series of War referred to as Punic ...

Roads were well constructed thus communication was enhanced. Whenever the king
wanted to pass information to the other rivals, the messenger would not have a hard

Difference between Han Dynasty and Roman Empire
The two Empires had different originality. Han Dynasty was formed from earlier
dynastic activities in classical China. The main aim for them was to restore political
order in the dynasty in China. Roman Empire was formed with the aim of controlling
of aristocratic landlords. It was politically motivated, with a hope of having the entire
universe to be under its control.
Hughes, (n.d., 234), argued that Han dynasty worked hard integrating the vast
territories as compared to the Roman Empire. The ethnic differences in South China
made it difficult for the integration of the territories the North China was united, and
it did not pose a challenge in the integration process. Despite this challenge Liu Bang
overcome it and was able to unite the divided side and formed Han dynasty. Roman
Empire was united, and inhabitants in their territory were willing to help the
authority through volunteering to join the

User Manual Critique
Many technical fields rely on user manuals, operator manuals and technical
manuals to do their day to day tasks at work. Without these manuals there would be
too much information for one person to know to be able to their job. Accidents,
personal or equipment would be more frequent in the work field. That is why
manuals are developed, to prevent accidents and to keep people informed of
updated information on equipment. So a well developed and written manual will
help a person succeed at their job, which is why someone needs to critique a manual
before it is released to the public.

Conciseness
The reading of each instruction leaves a person with no doubt on what they are
supposed to do, and when a step is done and what step to take next. Each topic is
short and to the point and clear. Consistency
All paragraphs, heading and graphics are consistent with all material that has been
developed in this manual. Graphics are simple and can be easily followed.
Document Design
Graphic s show a picture of the drill or parts of the drill with arrows and hands
showing how to do a particular part, such as inserting the battery on to the drill. If
there was any real issue with this manual is that there is not enough white space.
Sometimes you can get lost because each paragraph and heading is so close
together. The manual though is very organized, with numbering and header
separations. All hazards and warning are easily identified with bold lettering, and a
safety triangle (or danger sign). This was a black and white manual, so there were no
color pictures or graphics, which could lead readers to just skim through the pages
and not really read the important information.
I did find the manual very easy to understand and follow, however there are a few
things that I think that the writers of this manual could have done. Adding color to
the manual does keep the interest of the reader, I found myself wanting to skim
through
Quotes From Slaughterhouse Five
Slaughterhouse Five is a very interesting and curious book to read. One of the
interesting things that Kurt Vonnegut states throughout his book is so it goes .
There many quotes in this book that has this saying at the end of his sentences.
Personally, so it goes is very significant because it s letting us know that it s the end
of what he was talking about, so he can move on to something else. One of the first
quotes that I thought stood out, was when it states, On the candles and soap were
of German Origin. They had a ghostly, opalescent similarity. The British had no way
of knowing it, but the candles and the soap were made from the fat of rendered Jews
and Gypsies and fairies and communists, and other enemies of the State. So it goes.
This is an illustration that Billy discusses with somebody who has kicked the bucket.
The case demonstrates how the Germans executed the Jews, tramps and communists
and after that transformed their fat into water and cleanser. Billy says, So it goes ,

Analysis of The Complete Maus, by Art Spiegelman
When reading a traditional book, it is up to the reader to imagine the faces and
landscapes that are described within. A well written story will describe the images
clearly so that you can easily picture the details. In Art Spiegelman s The Complete
Maus, the use of the animals in place of the humans offers a rather comical view in
its simplistic relation to the subject and at the same time develops a cryptic mood
within the story. His drawings of living conditions in Auschwitz; expressions on the
faces of people enduring torture, starvation, and despair; his experience with the
mental institution and his mother s suicide; and occasional snapshots of certain
individuals, create a new dynamic between book and reader. By using the form of...

Art shows the obsessive compulsive aspects of Vladek with intensity. As you
listen to Vladek s story, you begin to understand his driving need to keep
everything. Living in an infested prison with little food and drink, he had to learn
to survive. With small tokens from his life before Auschwitz, Art began to make
allies and trade for food and clothing. Teaching English to a guard and acquiring
some basic necessities for survival, as a tinsmith he found people to trade for food
and gave gifts to his Kapo to gain favor and better treatment, he even fixed the

Vladek had to salvage anything that might be of value to someone else and
eventually was even able to move his wife closer so he could keep an eye on her.
Soon his obsession with saving anything he can get his hands on starts to make
sense. As you take in the story of Auschwitz, there are moments when you realize
how easily he Vladek is telling the story. He describes times when the prisoners are
inspected for health and if they pass they are sent back to the barracks to continue
working and if they are too sick then they are removed from the camp. Art uses the

Comparing Beowulf And The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Fellowship of the Ring is a story written by author J. R. R. Tolkien. His story
loosely based around Anglo Saxon mythology much like the epic of Beowulf.
Beowulf is a much older story than The Fellowship of the Ring, but they share
some key details. Furthermore, one could easily compare the two stories for their
epic like elements. Both stories contain epic elements, but how does The
Fellowship of the ring fit the definition of an epic? Where does it lack? If you
watch the film, the first example of an epic element is presented when Bilbo
Baggins and Gandalf the the Grey are in Bilbo s home (Jackson, The Fellowship of
the Ring). The element is presented after Gandalf finds out that Bilbo s been
harboring the ring for a long time (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). When
this is revealed, Bilbo gives a long speech about the ring s powers and how it has
been affecting him in a great way. Notably, the ring brings many good things to
Bilbo, like youth and health. In fact, outwardly he hasn t aged for sixty years, but he
humbly recognizes there s an underlying darkness to the ring that brings great
temptation to the bearer (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring).... Show more content

He leaves everything he owns, including the ring, in his adopted heirs possession.
Bilbo s departure provokes the next epic element, which is a long and dangerous
journey. After Bilbo leaves, Gandalf clearly states the dangers of the rings to
Frodo, the heir of Bilbo s possessions (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring).
Gandalf tells Frodo to leave with the ring immediately and it ends up being a very
long journey. Frodo has no idea that this journey will result in him crossing multiple
nations, which is also an epic
Theme Of Snow Country
The setting is the basis upon which the story of a novel develops, as it has a
tremendous effect on what happens in the story. In the novel Snow Country by
Yasunari Kawabata the setting plays a pivotal role in highlighting prominent themes
such as, Loneliness, Wasted Love and Wasted Beauty. Snow country is the literal
translation of the Japanese title Yukiguni . The name comes from where the story
takes place or rather where the story is set ; a village (rural area) on an island in
Japan that receives a huge amount of snow during the season of winter . The title
Snow Countryit self induces a slight hint of the setting that the story would be
established on. Snow Country explores the mundane relationship between

The novel carries the recurring theme of loneliness throughout. The loneliness in the,
foreshadows the loneliness in the characters of the novel.
The setting of the story which is cold and isolated; for instance The train came out of
the long tunnel into the snow country. The earth lay white under the night sky helps
to portray the isolation in the atmosphere at the beginning. Even though Kawabata
has chosen a Japanese landscape vibrant in natural beauty as the setting for a
fleeting love story the isolation of the entire region adds effect to the theme of
loneliness and aids to the characters development. Shimamura isolates himself from
his family and from the world to visit a resort in an isolated region where he has a
rather mundane relationship which is fleeting like snow, with a geisha (Komako)
who suffers from Loneliness; it is evident that the setting influences the development
of the character s characteristic. It is interesting to note that Shimamura possesses
striking characteristics; besides being aloof and self absorbed, he is capable of
making memorable and artistic observations of the world around him Along the coast

1. Define modulation.
In electronics and telecommunications, modulation is the process of varying one or
more properties of a periodic waveform, called the carrier signal, with a modulating
signal that typically contains information to be transmitted.
*2. What is carrier frequency?
The frequency generated by an unmodulated radio, radar, carrier communication, or
other transmitter, or the average frequency of the emitted wave when modulated by a
symmetrical signal. Also known as center frequency; resting frequency. 3. Describe
the two reasons that modulation is used for communications trans missions.

Noise generated by electronic devices varies greatly, as it can be produced by several
different effects. Thermal noise is unavoidable at non zero temperature, while other
types depend mostly on device type or manufacturing quality and semiconductor
defects, such as conductance fluctuations, including 1/f noise. 16. Explain the
difference between external and internal noise.
Internal Noise is that which a system generates on its own. For example in
MicroProcessor, Inductance of lines connecting different gates or coupling
capacitance between different lines may produce noise. In some systems, thermal
excitation and deexcitation of Electrons may produce Noise. In Most Cases, such
Noise is unavoidable. For example, if we are amplifying a signal by normal
Amplifier, which has certain internal Noise, and if We make gain large to improve
signal to Noise ratio, Noise gain will also increase!!! External Noise on the other
hand comes from some external source. For example, in Microprocessor system,
ripple voltage from power supply or voltage spikes may produce noise. This noise can
often be reduced easily and may even be suppressed.

The 2008 Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama and Republican
presidential nominee John McCain are both very well political speakers when it
comes to the presidential election, but they differ in many ways. Both men differ in
background, military and religion, and views on different subjects dealing with the
United States. Even though they differ for the most part, the two candidates do have a
few similarities.
Barack Obama is forty seven years old and was born on August 4th, 1961 in
Honolulu, Hawaii (obama mccain.info). John McCain is seventy two years old and
was born on August 29th, 1963 in the Panama Canal Zone, where his mother and
father; both naval officers were stationed (obama mccain.info). Both their family
roots have a bit of Scottish and Irish, but Obama s ancestry also includes Cherokee
Indians and Lueo people of Kenya. John McCain graduated from Episcopal High
School in Virginia and then went on t the United States Naval Academy in 1958

went to Columbia University in New York for political science. He then continued his
education at Harvard University and graduated to ten percentile of graduating class.

Lady Macbeth is an insidious and complex character. Throughout the course of the
novel, she manipulates her husband, Macbeth, and spurs him to commit his first
murder in order for him to ultimately achieve what she believes he deserves. Lady
Macbeth is shown to the audience as a loyal wife who wants the best for his
husband, but at the same time, she is portrayed as a malicious character from the
very beginning of the play. The line between an evil human being, and a scheming
witch, is so fine that Lady Macbethcould easily be either. The fact that the three Weird

Unlike the witches, Lady Macbeth shows signs of vulnerability, and becomes
wracked with guilt. This is evident in her sleepwalking scene, when she says Out
damned spot! Out, I say! (VI, 1, 31) She, at that point in time, was haunted by the
sight of blood on her hands, and was convinced the blood was still there, showing
signs of madness as she becomes mentally unhinged. Lady Macbeth s recollection
of Macbeth s words after Duncan was murdered also haunted and festered within
her as shown when she starts to echo Macbeth s statements and fears, when she
said To bed, to bed: there s knocking at the gate! (VI, 1, 59) When Lady Macbeth is
sleepwalking and imagines that she is in hell, as shown by her statement Hell is
murky, (VI, 1, 32) she does not appear on stage again, and dies offstage. The two
most likely scenarios for her death would be suicide, or an act involving the doctor
and/or the gentlewoman, as they were the only people that witnessed the truth about
the murders. If suicide was the cause of Lady Macbeth s death, as is likely, an even
deeper level of guilt is shown and this emotional trauma felt by Lady Macbeth is not
felt by the witches. These signs of weakness are contrary to the connection she had
with the evil spirits in her evocation
A Interview On Therapeutic Communication Of Older
Adults
Overview of Interview
For this visit summary, I have interviewed a 90 95 year old assisted living resident
that will be re named Joyce for the purpose of this paper. Before constructing the
interview, I was very excited and anxious to meet the resident I was interviewing for
the first time. Upon arrival, I was put to ease once meeting a genuine elderly woman
in the lobby that was just as excited to meet me for the first time. When reflecting on
the interview I am glad to have had prior knowledge on therapeutic communication of
older adults. I had seemly used all of the tips that the book had highlighted. These tips
include attentive listening, authentic presence, clarifying, keeping focus, and
providing intervals of silence (Touhy Jett, 2016, p. 67).
The most important piece of communication with Joyce was providing silence for her
to gather her thoughts in response to my questions. During the first interview she had
told me that she forgot to put her hearing aids in because she did not like to wear
them. If she was unable to hear me she would ask me to repeat the question and then
she would pause in silence gathering her thoughts to see if she heard me correctly.
The missing hearing aids was a communication barrier in our interviewing process.
Since I was aware that she was not wearing her hearing aids, I made sure I was
placed directly in front of Joyce when talking and was looking at her as I spoke.

Rape In The United States
A lot of people get raped every day. Rape is very traumatizing especially if you know
the person who raped you. Lots of foster children were raped at one point in their life.
Some were raped by their birth parents and some by their foster parents. Most of
these children are scared for their life because most children who are raped in their
foster home are generally abused physically too. Adults can also be raped. They are
most likely raped by their bosses or a stranger. Most rapes are performed by those
who have been raped before. Just like woman, men can be raped. There are many
different types of rape/ Sexual assault. One type is Rape in the second degree. Rape
in the second degree can be defined in court as the actor(rapist) is sixteen years old
or older and the other person(victim) is less than sixteen but older than twelve but is

Controversy On Tobacco
A controversy over tobacco has been the main interest of the Indian Government and
Tobacco Industries. The value of profit and ethical concerns are the primary factors
underlying the debate between two opposing parties.
The prohibition of tobacco has been trending in foreign nations such as Finland,
Norway and France. To conduct similar constraints is the intention of the government
of India. Endangerment and possible victims of hazards are the concerns of those
who are in favor of banning tobacco as well as other precarious commodities such as
handguns and narcotics in India. Millions of deaths around the world have been the
aftereffect of tobacco and cigarette smoking since the 90 s. Predictions of an increase
of death toll would occur in the latter years to come. Utilization of tobacco among the
youth is the product of propagandas enticements. Consequently, an increase in
medical expenses such as hospital bills and health care expenditures would become
the repercussion of such consumption. Additionally, even supposing that the
occupation of 26 million people is the liability of tobacco industries, a boycott of
tobacco and job turnovers would not create an adverse impact on the economy of
India. Investments in other stocks would enhance the Indian economy. Finally, a
decline of tobacco consumption would become fruitful if there is a proper
implementation of banning tobacco endorsements. ... Show more content on

Tics And Tourette Syndrome
TIC Dsorders: Tics or spasm like movements of particular muscles, often affect face
and the eyelids. These are unvoluntary movements, but the person with tic is maybe
able to suppress the actions shortly. Although, the suppression results in discomfort
that grows until it is relieved by performing again that tic.
Tics are often made of multiple continuous occurrences of the same action. For
instance, a tic of blinking eyes multiple times or twitching nose repeatedly; the vocal
tics are like throat clearing, coughing, and sniffing.
Motor tics can be classified as either simple or complex. Simple motor tics may
include movements such as shoulder shrugging, eye blinking, nose twitching, and
head jerking. Complex motor tics are series of movements performed in the same
order. For instance a person might kick out with one leg and then the other. No one
knows exactly what causes tics to occur. Stress might be one of the triggers. ... Show

A Brief Note On Access Control Access Controls
Thus majority of the respondents think frequent change of password is necessary
but not manageable which indicate usability issues like inability to create passwords
as frequently as obligatory. Inglesant and Sasse (2010) found that end users
experience with password security policy is that of rigidity in regards to their skills
and official responsibilities.
Inglesant and Sasse (2010) also found an improvement in the number of their
respondents that is 9 out of 32 respondents wrote down their passwords as end users
are more aware of data security.
Access control limit access to sensitive data based on organisation policies by
determining who and how data can be accessed based on a need to know of an
entity like an employee s name, position or something you are like fingerprints
(Goodrich and Tamassia 2011, Kizza 2010). Additionally identity depends on other
characteristics such as something you are acquainted with like password and
something you have like secret encryption key. Access control is based on the
assumption that only the authorized entity has possession of what they are, know or
have (Shabtai, Yuval and Rokach 2012).
However access control is limited in preventing data leakage due to social
engineering and networking. This have led to recent development of using more
than one form of access control in a process called layered authentication like audio
visual interfaces (Jang Jaccard and Nepal 2014). Access control also holds employees

Diction And Imagery In Angela s Ashes
In describing his atrocious childhood, Frank McCourt writes, Two small sons starved
to death. In the novel, Angela s Ashes, McCourt portrays his life with an alcoholic
father and depressed mother. McCourt uses two of several writing techniques: diction
and imagery, to show the hardships of being Irish, Catholic, and poor.
Angela s Ashes is a moving and impassioned testimony of McCourt s life from
childhood into early adulthood. Frank McCourt s uncommon style of writing allows
the reader to watch him develop as an individual, let alone an author. The changes in
his writing between ages of four, eleven and fourteen can be competently
distinguished. McCourt says, I m ashamed of me life... This one of many examples
showing his uneducated diction.

Unexpected Inflation and Redistribution of Wealth in Canada
CГ©saire A. Meh, Canadian Economic Analysis, and Yaz Terajima, Financial
Stability
One of the most important arguments in favour of price stability is that unexpected
inflation generates changes in the distribution of income and wealth among
different economic agents. These redistributions occur because many loans in the
economy are specified in fixed dollar terms. Unexpected inflation redistributes
wealth from creditors to debtors by reducing the real value of nominal assets and
liabilities. This article quantifies the redistributional effects of unexpected
inflation in Canada. To this end, we first provide comprehensive evidence of the
nominal assets and liabilities of various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, when inflation is high, the value of these assets and liabilities falls in terms
of purchasing power, since the prices of other goods and services go up with
inflation, but payments on these financial claims are fixed. The extent of the
changes in the purchasing power of п¬Ѓnancial assets and liabilities also depends on
the term to maturity, as we will show later on. In this section, we document Canadian
holdings by type and maturity in various categories of assets and liabilities.
Specifically, we look at asset and liability positions for three sectors: household,
government, and non residents.5 We also consider different groups of households.
The objective is to show that, among these different groups of agents, holdings of
nominal assets and liabilities differ in both qualitatively and quantitatively important
ways. Given that these differences exist, there is potential for redistribution among
them following inflation shocks.

Urban Migration During The Industrialization
Industrialization was a period that brought about many changes. One of the changes
that happened during this period was the change of working atmospheres from farms
and homes to factories. Industrialization in both England and China had a massive
impact on the working conditions in both countries. In England, the percentage of
population living in urban areas saw an increase from 17% to 72% in during the
Industrial Revolution(Watson). China s urban population rose from 26% to 53% in
2012 which brings the total urban population to 712 million people (Juan). Among
these 712 million urban residents, nearly 250 million are migrant workers from rural
areas ( The Great Transition ). In this paper I will explore urban migration during the
industrialization, and the numerous impacts it had on the workers in England and
China during this time period.
The massive urban migration that took place during these time periods was mainly
due to the beginning of industrialization. In both England and China, one of the
factors for urban migration was the job opportunities that were being created in the
urban factories that kept sprouting up from to high demand. Due to the stability and
higher income in factories, rural residents found it more promising to seek
employment in the urban areas instead of working in a farm or at home. They also
believed that there would be more opportunities for their own development in the
cities. Industrialization also contributed to a higher standard of

grandmother remembers that the house was somewhere else however; she decided
that she would not mention it (410). Both characters in the end have revelations that

Movement. In 1906, in Los Angeles, California, there was more documentation of
tongues being spoken. Having the experience of speaking in other languages is
called glossolalia. At the Azusa Street Mission, blacks and whites gathered together
for worship, which spread the early Pentecostal Movement. During this time the ...

In the 1940s, Pentecostals began to find acceptance. Before the 1960s, there were
some non Pentecostal people who had been baptized with the Holy Spirit of God.
Most of these people decided that they would then keep it a secret but later join the
Pentecostal Church. Around this time the theme of Classic Pentecostalism had
somewhat shifted. This became known as New Pentecostalism. At this time there
was the start of the Charismatic Movement. The supporters of the Charismatic
Movement started to stray people away from the traditional beliefs of Classic
Pentecostalism. More recently, there is a third wave of Pentecostalism that consists
of non Pentecostal Christians whose beliefs are mainly swayed towards the beliefs
of Traditional Christianity. This third wave of Pentecostalism was founded by C.
Peter Wagner. These non Pentecostal Christians follow the practices of Traditional
Christianity, but they believe in the Spiritual gifts of God and the works of God.
Members of the third wave of Pentecostalism do not see being baptized by the Holy
Spirit of God as an indicator. This third wave of Pentecostalism is better known as the
Vineyard Movement. Kenn Gulliksen and John Wimber are two very important
people who are associated with the Vineyard Movement. In the 1980s Gulliksen and
Wimber joined ministries. Vineyard churches were churches that focused on modern
day prophecies. Some prophecies failed. Therefore, John Wimber decided that the
Vineyard ministries should focus their
Java Man Gladwell Summary
Does the way we consume caffeine determine our social standing? Java Man by
Malcolm Gladwell is an essay describing caffeine s effects, social standing, and
acceptance by society throughout time. Malcolm Gladwell recounts how caffeine
appeals to different classes when used in different beverages and gives examples of
how this legal stimulant affects the body. Caffeine is the stimulant of choice for
many to get them going in the morning and socialization with others. Malcolm
Gladwell gives examples of a very short and unconventional study, which showed
the harmless impacts of caffeine and how caffeine is consumed by a variety of age
groups in many ways. In Java Man , Malcolm Gladwell says it best, At one moment,
in one form, it is the drug... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pregnancy and certain contraceptives may bring on jitters, a side effect of caffeine,
to the female population. A two hundred pound man who drinks a cup of coffee
with a hundred milligrams of caffeine will have a maximum caffeine concentration
of one milligram per kilogram of body weight. A hundred pound woman having the
same cup of coffee will reach a caffeine concentration of two milligrams per
kilogram of body weight, or twice as high (Gladwell, 233). I can usually consume
two to three cups of coffee before noon, while my wife can only handle one to two
before the jitters set in. The metabolism of medications changes with aging; therefore,
the older population should monitor caffeine intake. My parents have switched from
caffeinated to decaffeinated beverages due to how caffeine affects their body, making
them feel jittery after one cup of
Comparing Ulysses by Lord Tennyson and My Last Duchess

Comparing Ulysses by Lord Tennyson and My Last Duchess by Robert
Browning.
Ulysses was written by Lord Tennyson and is a poem about a mythical
Greek character and is a dramatic monologue. Another poem that is a dramatic
monologue is My Last Duchess , by Robert Browning. Both poems are similar, for
example they are both structured similarly, and are both different, one difference
being their subject. In this essay
I will compare the two poems, focusing on form, and how language helps to build up
subject matter.
Ulysses is a Greek mythical character, and was famous for being a pirate, ransacking
villages and being a warrior. In Greek literature,
Ulysses just seemed to disappear after he got home, and Tennyson decided to ... Show

These adjectives create an understanding of what life is like for Ulysses, and this is
then contrasted with words of his past such as roaming ,
ringing and windy . These words create a contrast between the activeness of the
past, and the stillness of the present. This helps the reader imagine what life was
like for the character when he was young. The words associated with the past are
positive, whereas the words associated with the present are negative, helping the
reader to understand how Ulysses feels about the present. Line 2o Gleams that
untravelled world whose margin fades shows how Ulysses believes that he still can
go out and do things, as no matter how much he has done, he cannot have done
everything. This line is important, as Gleams leaves the reader with the impression
that it is almost tempting to
Ulysses to go and live like he did in the past.
In My Last Duchess , Browning allows the reader to understand the
Duke through what he is saying and what he is doing. The first two lines introduce
us to the main topic of the Duke s speech which is a painting of his last wife. The
lines: That s my last Duchess painted on the wall, looking as if she were alive hint to
us that the duchess is not alive anymore, but Browning has made us unsure, and
therefore invites us to read more into the poem. Browning engages the reader by
inviting them to make their own judgements about the Duke, and hinting on what he is
Essay Computer-supported Collaborative Learning
As John Carroll and Ann Bishop state Most learning takes place in communities.
(2005). This could be informal communities, such as a conversation at a workplace,
or it could be a more formal setting such as a distance education course. Regardless of
the level of formality, humans learn from one another through communication in
some fashion. The issue for educators, then is how best to channel this natural
tendency for learning, and how to best utilize technology in the process. Therefore,
computer supported collaborative learning(CSCL) focuses on employing the benefits
of collaborative learning via networked computers (Computer supported Collaborative
Learning, 2007). The end goal is to make use of the power of technology based on...

Such items as class blogs and wikis, peer feedback, and digital communication (i.e.
email, Skype, instant messenger) all foster collaboration. To take this a step further,
CSCL actually promotes group discourse and cooperation in many ways that would
simply not be achievable were the class to be offered without it.
An important factor of CSCL is the recognition of the importance of socialization to
learning and the significance of that socialization to developing higher order
thinking skills. Today s knowledge economy requires a much advanced set of
cognitive and analytical skills. Therefore, the group socialization, discussion, and
collaboration play an ever significant role in defining pedagogical end goals (Fischer,
et. al., 2007). The higher order cognitive and problem solving skills require the
analysis of processes within complex and practical contexts, rather than just end
products resultant from a teacher centered classroom. Like most other educational
methods, CSCL can be both difficult to implement and to measure. Historically
speaking, providing evidence that any technological progress improves learning has
been difficult at best (Carroll, et. al., 2005). However, the traditional model of
education is not suitable for comprehending and learning to resolve the types of
complex, often ambiguous, issues that are most
Benefits Of School Uniforms In Public Schools
Every year around August and September school comes around, and that means
shopping. It s a day before school begins and no worries. The school uniform
policy requires for the student just have 4 blue polo shirts and brown, blue, or
black khakis for the males and khakis or a plaid skirt for the females. When school
uniforms topics are brought up in the United States most people are not in favor. If
only they took a closer consideration what school uniforms bring to the table that
mind set would be transformed. We as a country should adopt an open mind because
we can take a few notes from other countries whom have already adopted school
uniforms into their public educationregimen. This is one reason public schools in the
United States should make school uniforms mandatory in public schools. When
school uniforms come to mind they are often associated with private schools and
charter schools. Private school or charter schools were not the ones to start
implementing school uniforms into their school requirements. In fact, the uniforms
were first recognized in England around 1222. The students wore robe like uniforms
called the Clappa Clausa. At This time there were no private schools but instead the
impoverished Charity Kids were associated with the school uniforms. Over time they
started becoming associated with the higher class citizens of England. As the
uniforms were becoming more popular new accessories were added to the uniform
requirements such as hats, ties, and
Essay On Polygamy
Polygamy Should Be Legalized in The United States
Should polygamy be legalized in United States? Love and marriage is traditionally
defined by the union of two people. However, one may argue that there are
overwhelming benefits of a nontraditional marriage. It s often quoted that it takes a
village to raise a child, not just one mother and one father in a household. This view
is supported within polygamy. Polygamy is defined as A marriagein which a spouse
of either sex may have more than one mate at the same time (Marriam Webster).
This practice of polygamy goes back for most of man s recorded history and is
mentioned in most major religions. Even though most religions do not practice
polygamy anymore it is still apart the Islamic and Mormon doctrine. It is illegal in
the United States to marry someone while still lawfully married to another person.
The outlaw of polygamy is a violation of a citizen s Constitutional right to practice
their religion. For those who currently practice outside the law, this creates a
constitutional midpoint where they may be imprisoned for exercising their rights.
Although it may be illegal in the United States, polygamy is a principle aspect of
several religions; it supports women and children and it helps reduce the number of
unmarried women. The First Amendment of the United States gives citizens the
freedom to practice religion and freedom of speech. As human beings we should have
the right to practice our religious beliefs without fear

Why Is John Conlan Important In The Pigman
The Search Institute developed the 40 Developmental Assets; they state that the
assets are required , and are Building Blocks for a teens well being. John Conlan, a
character in the novel The Pigman, demonstrates some assets, but overall seems to be
lacking many that leave holes in his future. In the story he is a troubled young man
with a wide variety of assets. John has Positive Peer Influence although lacking
FamilySupport and Responsibility; knowing how important these assets are, lacking
multiple assets may have a very negative impact on his future.
Throughout the story it is clearly evident that John lacks a loving and supportive
family to help him through his teenage years. John was eating dinner after he had
been out with his friends Norton and Dennis at a graveyard; where they all are
commonly found smoking and drinking. Eat your peas, John, the ... Show more

In the story Lorraine continually attempts to help John by getting him to stop

John s health by getting him to stop smoking. While John and Lorraine are in the
Pigman s house alone, John is drinking a lot of beers and is ordering Lorraine to
clean up his mess. Why should I put out the garage when you re the one who
makes it? You make just as much as I do. I do not Your beer cans take up most of

responsible for the things he does by telling him to take responsibility in taking out
the trash; therefore trying to have a Positive Peer Influence on him. Using this
evidence, you can clearly see how John does in fact HAVE a Positive Peer
Baseball Players Overpaid
There are three types of baseball players: those who make it happen, those who
watch it happen, and those who wonder what happens Tommy Lasorda. My
relationship to a sport has to be baseball. I have a desire when they run to the bases,
sliding, and making home runs. I also like when they pitch, and the bat hits the ball
where it goes out of the park. Even though I think that they are overpaid. As a result,
baseballplayers earn $3 million per year. First, I think that s too expensive since
they just throw a ball around and run to the bases. They are working extra effort
every day to achieve this goal, but I don t think it s supposed to be that much.
Baseball players should just obtain $2 million per year instead of 3 million per
How Did We Start The Vietnam War Essay
Vietnam War
The Beginning of It All
The whole conflict in Vietnam started with France s imperialism. The French took
over Vietnam and established Indochina in the 1880s. However, the people of
Vietnam wanted to be free from France, and under their communist leader Ho Chi
Minh they established a military organization called Viet Minh. This organization
took over the capital and declared Vietnam an independent country. Ho asked for aid
from the U.S, but the U.S distrusted their communist ideals. Instead, President
Truman sent financial aid to their ally, France.
During President Eisenhower s term, the Vietnamese effectively defeated the French
and established the Geneva Accords which created a 17th Parallel (border) separating
a communist North ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nixon gathers support for his policies calls for national solidarity on the Vietnam War
effort through television and radio. President Richard Nixon also introduced a new
strategy called Vietnamization which was aimed to end the American involvement in
the Vietnam War. With this strategy Nixon believed that it would prepare and build
up the South Vietnam s military strength for them to be able to fight the North
Vietnamese alone and start withdrawing U.S troops. He had already withdrawn
60,000 troops from the war and was ready to keep making more reduction as it
continued. However, he ended up illegally bombing Viet Cong sites in Cambodia
Laos. President Nixon passed the 26th amendment that lowered the voting age from
21 to 18 years. This played a major role in the Vietnam War because the people of
the U.S. were not happy that the government was drafting the 18 year olds to go to
war but couldn t vote. Young men that were being drafted were resisting the draft
because they wanted their vote. This was the disconformity that the citizens had with

Fordham University Observation
Going to Fordham University, I ve always heard about the student friendly bars
located nearby campus. I figured the colorful social dynamic at these bars would
make for important observations that I couldn t pass up. The Friday night ritual of
going to the bars sounded as if it had its own mythos, with police raids replacing
great floods and bouncers replacing riddle making sphinxes. As such, I decided to
leave campus on a Friday at around 11 pm to go to an area with multiple bars that
were known to admit Fordham students under the age of 21. Essentially, I observed
the act of going out . On the way to the bars I noticed a large, but hard to spot,
exchange of people, ideas and even items. Most people moved in large flocks that
tended to fuse and split spontaneously. There were parallel floods of students going
out and returning home. From what I heard while eavesdropping, some students told
others about what lay ahead for instance, cover charges at bars, or people they weren
t fond of and others about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What appeared to be the main bar was situated on a corner, while two other ones
were to adjacent to each other on the next block and on the opposite side of the
street. I focused my attention on the more important bar on the street corner. It
comprised the first floor of a rugged, two story brick building. A long line of
students, starting at the open door of the bar, snaked along the front of the building
and around the sidewalk on its left side. I got in line and waited about five minutes
to get up to the door. This was perhaps the most critical part of going out . Once it
was my turn to enter the bar, I was approached by the bouncer. He was a tall, barrel
chested man with a wisp of hair on his head and a crooked nose. I showed this man
my license. He nodded upon seeing the year 1996 , accepting my age as good
enough, and proceeded to pat me down to make sure I didn t have any drinks on
Cultural Practices between Men and Women in Nigeria
INTRODUCTION
Creative Media Industries are swiftly shifting its focus to solely digital media and
opportunities for creative writers are paid no attention but a Canada based Nigerian
scholar at the thirty first yearly covention of the Association of Nigerian Authors,
points out that writers are the world s window into a culture Adesanmi (2013).
Novelists, biographers, historians, scriptwriters, and more recently, bloggers are the
constant that record and catalogue the culture, norms and trends of a particular
period or people. Through creative writing the culture of a group of people is
revealed and documented. This project is a collection of fictional short stories, it is

People s lives and cultures are made up of coinciding stories, and the monolithic
impression of Nigerian women in literature still needs to be challenged.
LITERATURE REVIEW/CRITICAL UNDERPINNING In Nigeria, men expect and
demand respect, cultural practices show that the major roles of women is to submit
to their men, raise the children and feed them. From the precolonial period to present
time, women s roles have advanced but the Nigeria has always been a patriachial
society, the concept of patriachy is crucial...because feminism needed a term by which
the totality of oppressive and exploitative relations which affect women could be
expressed (Humm 2003:200).
Colonialism ushered education and with time, women were allowed to be educated
and became exposed and aware of their rights but:
...women s rights and women s being have always been taken for granted, nicely
and safely tucked away under the bed of patriarchy. Silence was the virtue of women
and passivity their garner, but it was not always so. Traditional societies in pre
colonial times had spheres of power and influence for women in closely knit
organizations that helped them maintain a

  • 2. Similarities Between Hester Prynne And Legally Blonde The novel, The Scarlet Letter, and the play, Legally Blonde, both portray a strong female lead. In the novel, Hester Prynne is labeled with a scarlet letter, A , for committing a sin. As the story progresses she is able to change the meaning of her symbol into something more pleasing to the public eye. In the beginning of the play, Elle Woodsis seen by her peers as a silly, dumb, blonde , but similar to Hester, she is able to change the way she is seen by others in a positive way. Both of these independent women use their power to influence their society in order to change the way they are seen by the people around them. Elle Woods from Legally Blonde begins her journey as president of her sorority, Delta Nu. She is seen as the happy little blonde that always wears pink. She is given this stereotype by society. Until she is able to change stereotype, that is all that most people see her as. Her first step in changing her reputation is transferring to Harvard s School of Law. Her initial drive to attend Harvard was to chase after someone she loved. But Elle soon realized that she enjoyed studying law more than she thought. After many hours of studying and encouragement from a professor, Elle was able to prove herself in front of her fellow students. She showed them that she is more than just pink clothes and scented pink paper. Elle even takes her change a step further, by proving herself worthy to society in a very important court case. Elle is able to take charge and evidently win her case, thus helping an innocent person. Elle finds thrill in this new person she has created within herself and is glad she did it. She feels as if she is finally more than what society had previously seen her as and is proud that she was the one who was able to make that change for herself. Hester Prynne from Hawthorne s, The Scarlet Letter, is marginalized by society for having committed a sin. She too is given a stereotype by those around her, similar to Elle Woods. In the beginning, no one dares to speak or even look at Hester because of the A she wears on her chest. Hester feels as if she needs to change the meaning of this A that is stuck to her, so she sets out to do so. Every little action that she does,
  • 3. Americ A Nation That Welcomes And Is Occupied By Many... Leonard Harris History 1302 Professor McGregor Class Friday 9 a.m 11 November 1 Developing America As most may agree, America is a nation that welcomes and is occupied by many immigrants. Since Americas developmental stages, immigrants have tackled sorts of obstacles to become American citizens/reside in the Americas. Many seek voyage to the America in order to gain freedom from governmental rule of their country, while others may simply seek to acquire their idea of the American. While some immigrants may not accomplish goals set when leaving their country, others accomplish their goals and become wealthy and successful US citizens. When writing the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson and his team may have had immigration in mind. The founders of the Declaration added, Congress should establish a uniform rule of naturalization, (Article 1, Section 8) and make immigrants eligible for federal offices except president and vice president. The founding fathers believed continued immigration was important to the growth of the nation. To facilitate growth of the nations population, foreign slave trading was allowed for twenty years. After twenty twenty years of legal foreign slave trading, congress deemed foreign slave trading illegal. Immigration continues to be a ongoing topic of debate. In fact, policies and attitudes towards immigration are continuously changing.Other leaders, such as John Adams and his administration we against immigration. In
  • 4. Basic Fundamentals And Design Parameters Of Patch CHAPTER 3 BASIC FUNDAMENTALS AND DESIGN PARAMETERS OF PATCH 3.1Introduction As we all know, Selection of antenna is very important in designing of successful rectenna because antenna is responsible for how much power is received by the circuitry following after the antenna. This chapter describes the theory of antenna and its property, design process, simulations and fabrication of an Microsrip antenna that operates within the microwave frequency range. First we start with a brief explanation of the main design parameters of an antenna then we briefly explain the advantages of using microstrip antennas in these applications [4 18]. Also a brief introduction of the software used for the design and simulations stages. Then we will explain how making some changes to the shape of the ground plane and the radiating patch of the antenna can improve the performance. After all the parametric simulations a final antenna version was chosen and subsequently built. An antenna also known as midair is an electrical expedient which translates electric power into radio waves, and apposite to it. It is typically cast off with a radio transmitter or radio receiver. In broadcast, a radio transmitter deliveries an electric current wavering at radio frequency (i.e. a high frequency alternating current ) to the antenna s terminuses, and the antenna produces the energy from the current as electromagnetic waves (radio waves). In reception, an antenna interrupts certain of the power of an
  • 5. Chemical Reaction Essay There are also some elements that are not a part of any type of family. These elements are mostly other metals that are located right after the transition metals. There are some nonmetals that are included in this group. Some of these nonmetals include silicon, nitrogen, carbon, and phosphorus. All elements in this group are some what reactive. Nitrogen is the most common element. Compounds using nitrogen consist of silver nitrate, potassium nitrate, and nitric oxide. Silver nitrate is used in many different chemistry labs. Oxygen group is the next group found along the periodic table. This group is number 16 which contains the elements oxygen, sulfur, selenium, tellurium and polonium. The electron configuration of this group is s2p4. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason that they are the most reactive elements is because they have seven valence electrons, and they easily can gain one from multiple other elements to form a compound. Stability is met when an element has eight electrons in their valence shell, so they easily can bond with other elements. Fluorine, the element with the highest electronegativity on the periodic table, is the most reactive element on the periodic table. The most reactiveness goes from the lowest to the highest in the Halogen Family. Compounds found within the halogen group consist of hydrogen fluoride, sodium chloride, potassium iodide, hydrogen bromide, and and silver chloride. Noble gases make up group 18 in the periodic table. These are the elements that make up the noble gases: Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon. Noble gases reactivity is very low because they have no valence electron to give or share with other elements. Noble gases can be described as odorless, colorless gases. Noble gases are stable because they have eight electrons and fill up their outer shell. The intricate chemical details behind the reaction would take years to clarify and the formula of the colorful solid was later modified as [XeF]+[PtF5] (www.acs.org). This compound was the very first compound form by using a noble gas. It was said before this discovery that the noble gases could and would never form a chemical compound. The significance of the experiment remained clear Today

In the beginning of the story, Jem starts out as an innocent, fun loving boy. He is interested in football, trying to get a glimpse of the mysterious Boo Radley who lived next door, and playing with his best friend Dill. As he gets older, he has to deal with the way the town is treating him as well as the teasing and name calling from kids at school because of his father an attorney defended a black man in court that was accused of rape. One example would be where the traveler comes to fork in the road and has to make a decision to either take the path that everyone takes or the one that is barely used. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I /I took the one less traveled by,/ and that has made all the difference (Frost). In his mind, Frost begins thinking of the pros and cons of each path. The one path is used regularly, which must mean it is safer and has a better walking path. The other path is very rarely used which could mean it is more dangerous, but it would have a lot more adventure awaiting. Ultimately, Frost decides to travel on the road less taken as a sense of adventure. Sadly, as soon he gets further down the road, Frost begins contemplating whether or not to go back and take the other road. This is a reflection back to his life where he is faced with a problem and has to make a decision. Always wondering what would have been if he had taken the other path. It is also the time when Frost decides to return to the United States. Since this poem has been interpreted by many as a coming of age poem, many speakers at graduations have read this poem to represent the path that those graduating must now choose as a new phase of their life begins. Other critics believe it is not a coming of age poem. Many believe the poem was simply a letter Frost wrote to his friend, and fellow poet, Edward Thomas about time they had spent
  • 7. Separation of Powers in the Commowealth This doctrine was formulated by French philosopher Montesquieu who theorized that abuse of powers by the three branches would be checked through separating the branches functionally and physically. This means no branch should perform function of the other and no person can hold office simultaneously in the branches. However, there are instances where state courts have influences from the decisions of cases in the Commonwealth courts. In the ruling made in the case Kable v Director of public prosecution1996 189 CLR51.This case forbid states court exceeding federal jurisdiction. Therefore, State Supreme courts rely on decisions of federal courts and vice versa (Harris, 2013). In the separation of powers there is the doctrine that courts cannot be vested with non judicial power and federal judicial powers cannot be vested in a state court. It goes that if a court exercises non judicial power, then separation of powers will be violated. The states do not have explicit separation of powers in their respective constitutions. Parliament is able to vest judicial federal powers with non judicial powers so long as they do not undermine their integrity. States courts can still exercise their independence since they have some discretion in some matters. Looking at the separation of powers in States such as Queensland, there are unique features. Commonwealth Constitution confers separation of powers but States do not have constitutional separation of powers. Influence of executive on

  • 9. Drug Trafficking Organizations And Drugs Drug Trafficking Organizations Imagine living in a place where you can kill anyone you wish and nothing happens except that they fall dead (Morris 216). With drug trafficking organizations people in Mexico live in a world where this is part of their everyday lives. More than 16,600 deaths were attributed to drug trafficking in 2011 (Schedler 6). People live in a world like the Wild West where there seems to be no social control. This is a problem because innocent people are losing their lives over something that they can not control. Citizens throughout Mexico have learned to live with the consequences of organized crime caused by the Mexican drug cartels in their day to day lives. Drug Trafficking Organizations, otherwise called DTO, are organizations that engage in criminal activity revolving around the illegal drug trade. According to Andreas Schedler in his article, The Criminal Subversion of Mexican Democracy, this criminal activity includes the manufacturing of drugs all the way to the distribution of them all over the world (9). This is important because if it was not for drug trafficking and the crimes associated with it, there would not be as much violence in Mexican society. Furthermore, the process of manufacturing drugs likely involves many other illegal activities like the use of dangerous chemicals, access to firearms along with other dangerous weapons, and theft. There are many DTO s in the country of Mexico. Some have been around for centuries, while
  • 10. My Experience In School Counseling At Lumberon I am progressing toward meeting my goals. I am doing this by getting more experience in school counseling at Lumberton. I have been able to lead classes on different topics and talk to students individually to help them. I have also started a girls group with five fifth grade girls on self esteem. My girls group is my favorite thing I have done so far. My overall goal this semester was to get more comfortable with the students and lead classes and session. I have been able to do this through the help of Mrs. Cruthirds. Each day I am at my site I have learned something new. I also wanted to get more familiar with a school setting and understand what rules and guidelines need to be followed. I have learned a great deal about this through registering... The activity starts out with me asking them if they know how diamonds are made. We have some discussion about diamond and how precious they are. Then I ask them if the know what a cubic zirconia is. I explain to them that a cubic is like a diamond, but does not have the same value as a diamond. They are both pretty to look at, but are made differently. We then discussed if we ever have moments in which we are trying to sparkle like a diamond, but end up being fake like a cubic. I then gave them a reflection sheet, that ask them to reflect on moments in which they truly shined and their personal qualities that help them shine. After they completed the worksheet, we discussed what they wrote. I ended the session by giving them diamonds to place anywhere they wanted as a reminder that they can shine in the hardest of times. Many of the girls are victims of bullying or are shy in class. I told them that when they are having a hard time to take out their diamond and remember that they can make it through and to focus in on their diamond like qualities that allow them to
  • 11. Essay on RenГ© Descartes RenГ© Descartes RenГ© Descartes was a French philosopher and also mathematician. His method of doubt led him to the famous cogito ergo sum when translated means I am thinking, therefore I exist . This cogito was the foundation for Descartes quest for certain knowledge. He explored doubt and how we can prove our own existence, by taking the first steps of scepticism. His book Meditations On First Philosophy , was written in six parts. Each representing the six days that God took to create the world. Not to upset the Church, Descartes would need to prove the existence of God, and the soul. Within Descartes argument, we find some important areas. Two, which require focus, are his... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He came to the conclusion, that to doubt is to think; and to think is to exist. An example in Russell s Western philosophical thought is that anything, which doubts, understands, affirms, conceives, wills, denies, imagines and feels is something, which is thinking. And feeling, when it occurs in dreams, is thought . So therefore anything which thinks, also too exists. In Descartes wax example, he takes a piece of wax from the honeycomb in it s solid form. He observes that there are certain things, which are apparent towards the senses. The taste of the honey, its temperature (cold), the size, the colour, and when you tap it, it makes a sound. Yet, if we place the wax near heat, or a fire, the features and qualities change. No longer is the shape the same. It has become hot, and when you tap it there is no sound. This is the wax in its liquid form. So is the wax we see now, the same wax we saw before these changes? Before these changes were apparent, Descartes pointed out the difficulties of relying on the senses, of the physical body. In section 31 of Meditation two, he says that the perception he has, is a case not of vision or touch or imagination nor has it ever been, despite previous appearances but of purely mental scrutiny . Descartes shows that our senses cannot be used to have knowledge of things in the external world, and that knowledge of these things must come through the mind alone.

  • 13. Bounty Hunter Social Pressure After watching the video and witnessing some of the actions of the individuals I honestly was not surprised what so ever. The fact that many of the individuals chose not to question the bounty hunter stems from the fact that in society if we see someone in the power position we are expected to not questions them and obey them completely. When the bounty hunter had pressured the individuals to help him detain the woman in the blue jacket for her crime, they were reassured that he was an actual bounty hunter by his fake badge. The pressure that bounty hunter had placed upon the individuals is a clear example of social pressure. According to the textbook, many individuals tend to experience social pressure when they are part of a group (134)

Changan was the capital city currently referred to as Xian. Han had two dynasties i.e. Western Han and Eastern Han. Some of the Emperors that Han dynasty had include Wu, Jing, Wen, Gaozu, among others. Roman Empire ruled the world from its seat in Italy. Roman Empire used its power to conquer Europe and extended it America. Similarities between Han Dynasty and Roman Empire Both empires used the militarism to expand their territories. Han Dynasty was formed from earlier dynastic activities in classical China. The main aim for them was to restore political order in the dynasty in China. Roman Empire was formed with the aim of controlling of aristocratic landlords. It was politically motivated, with a hope of having the entire universe to be under its control. Hughes, (n.d., 234), argued that Han dynasty worked hard integrating the vast territories as compared to the Roman Empire. The ethnic differences in South China made it difficult for the integration of the territories the North China was united, and it did not pose a challenge in the integration process. Despite this challenge Liu Bang overcome it and was able to unite the divided side and formed Han dynasty. Roman Empire was united, and inhabitants in their territory were willing to help the authority through volunteering to join the

Essay on User Manual Critique User Manual Critique ENG/221 September 29, 2011 User Manual Critique Many technical fields rely on user manuals, operator manuals and technical manuals to do their day to day tasks at work. Without these manuals there would be too much information for one person to know to be able to their job. Accidents, personal or equipment would be more frequent in the work field. That is why manuals are developed, to prevent accidents and to keep people informed of updated information on equipment. So a well developed and written manual will help a person succeed at their job, which is why someone needs to critique a manual before it is released to the public. The manual though is very organized, with numbering and header separations. All hazards and warning are easily identified with bold lettering, and a safety triangle (or danger sign). This was a black and white manual, so there were no color pictures or graphics, which could lead readers to just skim through the pages and not really read the important information. I did find the manual very easy to understand and follow, however there are a few things that I think that the writers of this manual could have done. Adding color to the manual does keep the interest of the reader, I found myself wanting to skim through
  • 16. Quotes From Slaughterhouse Five Slaughterhouse Five is a very interesting and curious book to read. One of the interesting things that Kurt Vonnegut states throughout his book is so it goes . There many quotes in this book that has this saying at the end of his sentences. Personally, so it goes is very significant because it s letting us know that it s the end of what he was talking about, so he can move on to something else. One of the first quotes that I thought stood out, was when it states, On the candles and soap were of German Origin. They had a ghostly, opalescent similarity. His story loosely based around Anglo Saxon mythology much like the epic of Beowulf. Beowulf is a much older story than The Fellowship of the Ring, but they share some key details. Furthermore, one could easily compare the two stories for their epic like elements. Both stories contain epic elements, but how does The Fellowship of the ring fit the definition of an epic? Where does it lack? If you watch the film, the first example of an epic element is presented when Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the the Grey are in Bilbo s home (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). The element is presented after Gandalf finds out that Bilbo s been harboring the ring for a long time (Jackson, The Fellowship of the Ring). When this is revealed, Bilbo gives a long speech about the ring s powers and how it has been affecting him in a great way. Notably, the ring brings many good things to Bilbo, like youth and health. Gandalf tells Frodo to leave with the ring immediately and it ends up being a very long journey. Noise generated by electronic devices varies greatly, as it can be produced by several different effects. Thermal noise is unavoidable at non zero temperature, while other types depend mostly on device type or manufacturing quality and semiconductor defects, such as conductance fluctuations, including 1/f noise. 16. Explain the difference between external and internal noise. Internal Noise is that which a system generates on its own. For example in MicroProcessor, Inductance of lines connecting different gates or coupling capacitance between different lines may produce noise. In some systems, thermal excitation and deexcitation of Electrons may produce Noise. In Most Cases, such Noise is unavoidable. For example, if we are amplifying a signal by normal Amplifier, which has certain internal Noise, and if We make gain large to improve signal to Noise ratio, Noise gain will also increase!!! External Noise on the other hand comes from some external source. For example, in Microprocessor system, ripple voltage from power supply or voltage spikes may produce noise. This noise can often be reduced easily and may even be suppressed. Section 1 4 23. Calculate the S/N ratio for a receiver output of 4 V signal and 0.48 V noise both as a ratio and in decibel form. Industrialization in both England and China had a massive impact on the working conditions in both countries. In England, the percentage of population living in urban areas saw an increase from 17% to 72% in during the Industrial Revolution(Watson). China s urban population rose from 26% to 53% in 2012 which brings the total urban population to 712 million people (Juan). Among these 712 million urban residents, nearly 250 million are migrant workers from rural areas ( The Great Transition ). In this paper I will explore urban migration during the industrialization, and the numerous impacts it had on the workers in England and China during this time period. The massive urban migration that took place during these time periods was mainly due to the beginning of industrialization. In both England and China, one of the factors for urban migration was the job opportunities that were being created in the urban factories that kept sprouting up from to high demand. Due to the stability and higher income in factories, rural residents found it more promising to seek employment in the urban areas instead of working in a farm or at home. They also believed that there would be more opportunities for their own development in the cities. Industrialization also contributed to a higher standard of

While A good man is hard to find is about a family that goes on a vacation that ultimately results in all of their deaths. Revelation is about a woman who is very judgmental and looks down on people. In the end both characters have revelations that contrast with who they are and how they portray themselves to the world. The protagonist in Revelationis Mrs. Turpin, and she depicts herself as a womanwho is classy, respectable and is above all of those who are in the waiting room at the doctor s office. You can either be a nigger or white trash, what would she have said? Mrs. Turpin answers with All right, make me a nigger then but that don t mean a trashy one. And he would have made her a neat clean respectable Negro woman, herself but black. (416). The grandmother in A good man is hard to find is very similar to Mrs. Turpin as well. The grandmother claims to be a lady, but she is really a manipulator, she wants everything to go her way. For example when she brings the cat along for the vacation trip despite Bailey not wanting to bring it along. Also when the grandmother manipulates the kids into wanting to go see a plantation by saying that it has a secret panel. There was a secret panel in this house , she said craftily, not telling the truth but wishing that she were. (408) The horrible thought she had had before the accident was that the house she had remembered so vividly was not in Georgia but in Tennessee. (409). The grandmother remembers that the house was somewhere else however; she decided that she would not mention it (410). This became known as New Pentecostalism. At this time there was the start of the Charismatic Movement. The supporters of the Charismatic Movement started to stray people away from the traditional beliefs of Classic Pentecostalism. More recently, there is a third wave of Pentecostalism that consists of non Pentecostal Christians whose beliefs are mainly swayed towards the beliefs of Traditional Christianity. This third wave of Pentecostalism was founded by C. Peter Wagner. These non Pentecostal Christians follow the practices of Traditional Christianity, but they believe in the Spiritual gifts of God and the works of God. Ulysses was written by Lord Tennyson and is a poem about a mythical Greek character and is a dramatic monologue. Another poem that is a dramatic monologue is My Last Duchess , by Robert Browning. Both poems are similar, for example they are both structured similarly, and are both different, one difference being their subject. In this essay I will compare the two poems, focusing on form, and how language helps to build up subject matter. Ulysses is a Greek mythical character, and was famous for being a pirate, ransacking villages and being a warrior. In Greek literature, Ulysses just seemed to disappear after he got home, and Tennyson decided to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These adjectives create an understanding of what life is like for Ulysses, and this is then contrasted with words of his past such as roaming , ringing and windy . These words create a contrast between the activeness of the past, and the stillness of the present. This helps the reader imagine what life was like for the character when he was young. The words associated with the past are positive, whereas the words associated with the present are negative, helping the reader to understand how Ulysses feels about the present. Line 2o Gleams that untravelled world whose margin fades shows how Ulysses believes that he still can go out and do things, as no matter how much he has done, he cannot have done everything. This line is important, as Gleams leaves the reader with the impression that it is almost tempting to Ulysses to go and live like he did in the past. In My Last Duchess , Browning allows the reader to understand the Duke through what he is saying and what he is doing. The first two lines introduce us to the main topic of the Duke s speech which is a painting of his last wife. The lines: That s my last Duchess painted on the wall, looking as if she were alive hint to us that the duchess is not alive anymore, but Browning has made us unsure, and therefore invites us to read more into the poem. Browning engages the reader by inviting them to make their own judgements about the Duke, and hinting on what he is

This could be informal communities, such as a conversation at a workplace, or it could be a more formal setting such as a distance education course. Regardless of the level of formality, humans learn from one another through communication in some fashion. The issue for educators, then is how best to channel this natural tendency for learning, and how to best utilize technology in the process. Therefore, computer supported collaborative learning(CSCL) focuses on employing the benefits of collaborative learning via networked computers (Computer supported Collaborative Learning, 2007). Such items as class blogs and wikis, peer feedback, and digital communication (i.e. email, Skype, instant messenger) all foster collaboration. To take this a step further, CSCL actually promotes group discourse and cooperation in many ways that would simply not be achievable were the class to be offered without it. An important factor of CSCL is the recognition of the importance of socialization to learning and the significance of that socialization to developing higher order thinking skills. Today s knowledge economy requires a much advanced set of cognitive and analytical skills. Therefore, the group socialization, discussion, and collaboration play an ever significant role in defining pedagogical end goals (Fischer, et. al., 2007). The higher order cognitive and problem solving skills require the analysis of processes within complex and practical contexts, rather than just end products resultant from a teacher centered classroom. Like most other educational methods, CSCL can be both difficult to implement and to measure. Historically speaking, providing evidence that any technological progress improves learning has been difficult at best (Carroll, et. al., 2005). However, the traditional model of education is not suitable for comprehending and learning to resolve the types of complex, often ambiguous, issues that are most

The school uniform policy requires for the student just have 4 blue polo shirts and brown, blue, or black khakis for the males and khakis or a plaid skirt for the females. When school uniforms topics are brought up in the United States most people are not in favor. If only they took a closer consideration what school uniforms bring to the table that mind set would be transformed. We as a country should adopt an open mind because we can take a few notes from other countries whom have already adopted school uniforms into their public educationregimen. This is one reason public schools in the United States should make school uniforms mandatory in public schools. When school uniforms come to mind they are often associated with private schools and charter schools. Private school or charter schools were not the ones to start implementing school uniforms into their school requirements. In fact, the uniforms were first recognized in England around 1222. The students wore robe like uniforms called the Clappa Clausa. At This time there were no private schools but instead the impoverished Charity Kids were associated with the school uniforms. Over time they started becoming associated with the higher class citizens of England. As the uniforms were becoming more popular new accessories were added to the uniform requirements such as hats, ties, and
  • 44. Essay On Polygamy Polygamy Should Be Legalized in The United States Should polygamy be legalized in United States? Love and marriage is traditionally defined by the union of two people. However, one may argue that there are overwhelming benefits of a nontraditional marriage. It s often quoted that it takes a village to raise a child, not just one mother and one father in a household. This view is supported within polygamy. Polygamy is defined as A marriagein which a spouse of either sex may have more than one mate at the same time (Marriam Webster). This practice of polygamy goes back for most of man s recorded history and is mentioned in most major religions. Even though most religions do not practice polygamy anymore it is still apart the Islamic and Mormon doctrine. It is illegal in the United States to marry someone while still lawfully married to another person. The outlaw of polygamy is a violation of a citizen s Constitutional right to practice their religion. For those who currently practice outside the law, this creates a constitutional midpoint where they may be imprisoned for exercising their rights. Although it may be illegal in the United States, polygamy is a principle aspect of several religions; it supports women and children and it helps reduce the number of unmarried women. The First Amendment of the United States gives citizens the freedom to practice religion and freedom of speech. As human beings we should have the right to practice our religious beliefs without fear

As such, I decided to leave campus on a Friday at around 11 pm to go to an area with multiple bars that were known to admit Fordham students under the age of 21. Essentially, I observed the act of going out . On the way to the bars I noticed a large, but hard to spot, exchange of people, ideas and even items.
