2. The Issue Of Concussions And Its Effects
The issue of concussions has been downplayed for years dating back to when the first forms of
professional football came to the U.S. but the past 10 years have been drastically different. We need
to be more aware as a society about the negative consequences that occurs with a concussion in the
short term and the long run. Researchers claim that concussions can decrease your thinking
capacity all the way to even a shortened life span. Most importantly to any claim there is proof;
numerous athletes over the years have unfortunately committed suicide because of depression/post
concussionsymptoms. However, the world runs on money thus lawsuits by former athletes are
starting to be very common as most have lost their career earnings due to addictions. The real
issue is how can we as a society limit concussions from having such terrible effects. This research
paper details the social and economic spheres that stem from concussions and their effects. With
emphasis on how to prevent traumatic brain injuries from occurring and the proper rehabilitation
steps once one has been sustained. This paper will also address solutions for this issue at hand
with regards to prevention, treatment and recovery. In the health world, concussions are finally
now deemed as serious issues to physicians and athletic trainers. A couple decades ago,
concussions were seen as just getting your bell rung with no long term effects, that is really tragic
when we really look back on it. There were many

3. How Did The Enlightenment Impact On American Society
The Impact of European Philosophers
The philosophers in Europe leading to the Enlightenment era have had a drastic impact on the
formation of our government and the way it functions. The Enlightenment era was crucial in
determining aspects of colonial America. America provided a excellent clean slate for the
European philosophers to form, shape, and paint it from the base to the finished masterpiece. Many
concepts were brought to America to build it up to what it is today.
John Locke was a huge philosopher with big ideas. He believed in rights that are given at birth
that no man can take away. Thus, every man is created equal. His views on unalienable rights
opened the eyes of those who did not see. His famous saying Life, liberty, and property , is used in
the Declaration of Independence as Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This specificity stood

His writings allowed others to see the injustice of slave trade and religious prejudice. The
Declaration of Independence reflects the British government s corruption which devastated the
American colonies and drove the Founding Fathers to revolution. Additionally, Voltairewas a
staunch supporter of the freedom of speech, which is emphasized by the American Constitution.
Voltaire s ideas painted the clay of America.
Montesquieu believed in separating the powers of the government and that one branch of
government does not have more power than the other. His ideas were interpreted by Thomas
Jefferson and other American products as Separation of powers and Checks and Balances .
Amendment 8 of our Bill of Rights sates, No cruel and unusual punishment . We can thank Beccaria
for this right. He saw how corrupt and wrong the punishments were and stated in his book, On
Crimes and Punishments that no human should be punished unusually or by any means cruel. He

4. Required Music Education
The Need for Required Music Education
Over 2.1 million children around the country do not have access to a music education program
(Pellegrinelli 2). These students that are not introduced to music education could be able to learn
and understand mathematics and reading skills much more efficiently by simply introducing music
into their lives (Taylor 2). When involved in music, anxiety and depression levels could decrease
as well ( Landmark 1). Music is not required in all schools, and students could benefit from more
music education (Braun 1). Even though many students dislike music and think it is too hard,
schools should be obliged to require music classes through grade school because students that are

However, there is ample evidence showing that there are other benefits of music outside of
academics that these students could benefit from. Music educator Anne Edmunds said, [Music]
Exposure also helps with cognitive, social and emotional development ( Mind 1). Though
academics are not the only benefit of music, at most times, music will benefit everyone in some
sort of academic way. Out of 61 seniors taking piano lessons, all of them showed positive
differences in mental and physical areas. This would benefit young people as well ( Landmark 1).
Not only does Music for the Mind and Bruhn and Tims show that there are other benefits of music
education for students, The Landmark Fletcher Music Study proves that music does help most
people. While many may believe that some people s academics may not improve when music
education is involved, most people are benefited academically by music education, and there are
many benefits outside of academics. While it is true that some adults and students do not take
music lessons or classes because they think it is too hard, or not fun, music education is just like
many other things. It takes practice and dedication to become better. Many adults take up golf,
painting, dance, or other group activities instead. However, with these activities, for them to

Separate but equal is the approach that my roommate and I took when we moved in. To keep
things separate, her things are on the left and mine are on the right. The equal part comes in if
one of us wants to use something of the others (such as a nail clipper or a hair tie.) This means
that almost anything we own is open to use with permission. We decided that we didn t want to
combine any of our things just yet because we didn t know each other that well. I believe it s a
good idea because it will reduce the chance of an argument over whose things are whose. Girls

When I was a kid, I would always hear my mom and the other adults talk about how they were
going to move us out and come back to the city. They was a reference to white people and us
referred to minorities in the inner city. This was back in Milwaukee in the early 1980 s, now
every city that I go to and visit this myth seems to follow. It wasn t until I moved to Atlantaand over
the last ten years, I saw the city change right before my very eyes. I noticed nice condos going up

What will happens to these long term residents, where do they go now? If suburbanites are
taking flight back to the city, what will the face of Atlanta look like in ten years? The inner city
residents will probably be given vouchers for Section 8 housing in less desirable areas in the city
where jobs and transportation are scarce. As for the later, in the next ten years Atlanta will go
from predominantly black and liberal landscape to a more white conservative population, if we
aren t including or afforded the benefits of gentrification. The exodus of the Black poor and
working class to the suburbs, will in effect lead to the loss of Black politicians and old time
supporters of the old Atlanta.
Will gentrification radically alter a neighborhood? Does so called cleaning up really change

9. Celebrities Right To Privacy
The Right to Privacy
Many individuals believe that when someone becomes a celebrity , they must give up their
privacy and personal lives. This statement, concluded by several people, is completely incorrect.
Celebrities do not want to give up their freedom or right to privacy when becoming famous,
unfortunately, it is their crazy, obsessive fans who want to know every single detail about what is
happening in that star s, not so secretive, life. They are continuously followed and stalked by
reporters and the paparazzi who never take a day off, leaving celebrities with constant
claustrophobia. Digging into the lives of celebrities and discovering their deepest, darkest secrets, is
simply just entertainment for those interested. Forgetting that those who are famous need privacy
in their lives, is a serious issue in society that is causing many conflicts with celebrities nowadays;
individuals are invading their privacy and not accepting this right, they are making them feel
claustrophobic and watched at all times, and they truly do not care for those who are famous, only
for the entertainment they are creating.
Modern day people continue to ask the following question; Seriously, they get paid loads of cash,
why do they get mad about pictures? The truth, however, is that everyone deserves their privacy,
after all, celebrities are just like everyone else, human beings. Being an actor or actress is an
occupation like any other. There is a difference between taking photos while they re working or
publishing information and taking photos of them with their children, families or friends on their
own time. Imagine being in their position and being watched all the time, while living their life
and sometimes making poor decisions. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone s mistakes are
all over social media. People go through rough times when growing up, in order to become the best
version of themselves, but every celebrity is constantly reminded of every bad choice they have
made. Many celebrities including Justin Bieber have been in this type of situation. For instance, in
2012, Bieber was accused of battery by a photographer who claimed he roughed him up and left

way to view all the scores from the students and seeing which students are in need to academically

The Feminist Dynamic of Lucille Clifton
Quilting bees were occasions for women to gather bringing discarded scraps of material, which
they masterfully transformed, into works of art. The bee was also a social gathering where
women told tales, exchanged ideas, and encouraged one another. Lucille Clifton s collection of
poetry entitled Quilting continues the wonderful tradition by skillfully bringing together poems
that entertain, inform, and encourage. Two of Clifton s poems, eve s version and a woman who
loves, are excellent examples of the quilting process where material is re worked to reveal a
perspective that is female. The poem, eve s version defies the negative issues that have arisen from

Feminine sensuality and the feminist voice have been effectively subverted in this example of the
perfect woman.
Lucille Clifton redresses the Christian narrative in her poem, eve s version. She begins the
poem by asserting that women are responsible for maintaining control over their lives. Genesis,
according to Clifton, establishes that Lucifer is the creation of the female mind. Eve is given
the power to tell her own story and she states that, smooth talker / slides into my dreams / and
fills them with apple (74). Lucifer is not viewed as a powerful being but as the product of Eve s
dream. The dream is an illusion while Eve is the reality and the source of power in the text. Eve
accepts ownership of the dream; it is hers and Clifton makes it clear that Eve is in control of
Lucifer and the apple. She avoids the traditional trap of ignorance that society has perpetuated with
the male version of the creation myth.
The control of the apple is very significant. The apple has always been a symbol of the basis for
man s problems. The apple in Clifton s poem is a metaphor for feminine sensuality and alludes to
the feminist power dynamic. The truth about the apple is revealed by Eve, who states,
apple snug as my breast
in the palm of my hand apple sleek apple sweet and bright in my mouth. (74)
It is apparent that Eve has control of the apple; it

me around, as this is where the story begins. As a kid, I had a wonderful life. Even though
Bonkville is the size of an ant compared to most cities in the world, it is beautiful. We live about
one hour from the beach; yet, we have thick forests and wildlife everywhere around us. It really is
like the best of both worlds. At my house I lived with my mom, dad, and sister Betty. We went to

kindergarten through senior year, and with that we were all ready to get out of that town in the
end; however, during senior year, I decided I would be okay if I never left.
At the beginning of my senior year of high school, I began to like a girl named Shelley. Shelley
started to change my life as she was the most wonderful girl that I d ever met. She had the

20. The Economic Order And Manufacture Quantity
The economic order/manufacture quantity (EOQ/EMQ) model developed by Harris (1913) is the
earliest reported scientific treatment of inventory systems, where the sum of inventory costs,
ordering/setup and holding costs, is minimized. Its simple mathematics and ease of calculation is
perhaps what contributed to its popularity with practitioners and academicians (e.g., Fulbright,
1979; Osteryoung et al., 1986). The EOQ/EMQ model continues to be celebrated by many
researchers (Andriolo et al., 2014; Drake and Marley, 2014; Glock et al., 2014; Bushuev et al.
2015). The model s popularity overshadows few critical voices (e.g., Selen and Woods, 1987;
Woolsey, 1990; Weiss, 1990).
Many derivatives of the EOQ/EMQ appeared over the years, of which just in time (JIT) is one of
them (e.g., Andriolo et al., 2014). In contrast to the classical EOQ/EMQ model, just in time (JIT)
produces a product when needed and delivers it when wanted by customers. JIT considers inventory
as a waste to be reduced by producing in smaller lots more frequently, so fewer items are in the
pipeline (Bonney and Jaber, 2011). It also improves quality, productivity, responsiveness, machines
availability, workforce flexibility, space and equipment utilization, flow, and relationship with
suppliers (Cavinato, 1990; Jones, 1990; Mehra and Inman, 1992). JIT is based on continuous
improvement of which reducing setup time (cost) is its primary driver (Zangwill, 1987; Jones,
1990;Cavinato, 1991). Readers are referred to

21. Pope Urban Viii By Gian Lorenzo Bernini
Furthermore, the Triton Fountain was specially made for Pope Urban VIII Barberini by Gian
Lorenzo Bernini. The fountain is placed at the center of the piazza; the fountain represents the
God of Sea with anthropomorphic body and huge fish tail, kneeling on an open shell supported by
the tails of four dolphins. The dolphins, leaning towards each of the four cardinal directions, open
their mouths to swallow the water of the surrounding pool, telling us that they drink up all the
waters of the world. The fins of the dolphins clutch the crown of Urban VIII, with papal tiara, keys
of St. Peter, and Barberinibees. Triton as the subject of this fountain is a very interesting choice.
According to many historical sources, Pope Urban VIIIwas a very talented poet, and he was very
recognized for his pursuits in this field, and Triton was someone who achieved a sacred unity with
nature and literature. And as we can see from the monument, the Triton was an appropriate public
monument to PopeUrban s distinguished literary accomplishments. On the other hand, this
explanation of the connection between Triton and Pope Urban is not effective, and unquestionably
doesn t give us full information. American art historian John Beldon Scott has established that
Urban was suspicious of pagan imagery for fear it might lead the faithful astray. This suggests that
the Triton Fountain may imply to something more significant than just the simple literary symbol.
Also, it is important to mention that at

23. Leadership And The Leadership Styles
1.Webster s defines Leadership as the action of leading a group of people or an organization .
That definition really does the word no justice because leadership can look like a great many
things to different people, and there are equally as many ways to lead. One can lead through fear
or respect, by word or by action. Introduction: My definition of leadershipand the leadership
influences in my career. I have had numerous leaders that have influenced my career and
leadership style to this point. The Chief on my first Patrol Boat was one of the biggest
influences I have had in my career. I remember how he carried himself with confidence. He
empowered his people. He had the personal power to inspire people to want to be better to not
disappoint him. But at the same time was able to hold people accountable, and have you learn
from the experience. I also had a cutter CO that illustrated for me all the qualities I promised
myself I would never be. They did not treat their crew with respect. By their level of
micromanagement, they demonstrated that they did not trust their crew. People just dreaded
coming to work never knowing what the day was going to bring. Even as I strive to ensure I am
never like that leader, there are times that I stop and find myself thinking along the same lines,
and demonstrating some of the same weaknesses. I can see how they fell into the traps that they
did. I am proud of what I have been able to accomplish in my career, and am happy

Common law has roots in the English system of law, it developed in England following the
Norman conquest of A.D. 1066, which became Common Law which was the body of the legal
decision that were made by the English court judges. This law started out was an oral law
decision making that resulted in the court judges walking around the country that would go
town to town to try cases. This was the nicknamed the unwritten law which resulted in the oral
law that served as the precedent for deciding successive cases with the same type of facts, and
this lead to the doctrine called star decisis which meant to stand by a decision which was
previously decided. This doctrine was the one that gave way to a rule that prior law decision made
was to be followed, unless it is turned over with a new rule established if there is no good reason to
do so. So in terms that are easy to understand, if society changes can decide that if a precedent is
no longer valid, a court of law may decide that a precedent is simply incorrect and will adjust
accordingly.

The Schlieffen Moltke Plan; which was originally drawn up by Alfred von Schlieffen and reshaped
by Helmuth von Moltke the Younger, failed to achieve its objectives in September 1914 was due to
the changes of the original Schlieffen Plan implemented by Moltke the Younger, and his poor
leadership shown throughout the execution of the plan The objective of the Schlieffen Moltke
plan; which was a planned offensive assault by the German Empire, was to advance through
Belgiumand enter France through the Northern border. Once Belgium was defeated, the Germans
wished to quickly overtake the French and move quickly to fight the Russians before they could
mobilize. However, the plan turned into a major disaster due to the alterations that Moltke made
before the Schlieffen Moltke Plan s execution, as well as the revisions made during the offensive.
His changes allowed the Allies to prepare for this assault, and counter the attack. An issue that
Moltke and the German army encountered was that the Belgian army would not allow them to
march through without resistance. Moltke attempted to persuade the Belgian King Albert to grant
the German army access through their country prior to the invasion. The request, however, failed to
succeed as the Belgian King Albert declined, and did not allow the Germans to flow freely through
their country. This led to a pre emptive attack on neutral Belgium, which effectively brought Great
Britain into the war. The resistance that the Belgian s showed in

word Piscine in French translate to swimming pool in English. The significance of his name is
because he spends 227 days in a huge swimming pool (the ocean) fighting for his life.
The thread develops during the novel because as the novel goes on and he s stuck on the lifeboat,
Pi starts to question who Pi really is. When he starts questioning who he is, he finds it hard to
learn who he truly wants to be. The message the author is trying to get across is be true to
yourself. 3) Young Pi s dedication to three religions
As explained in the book, Pi follows three different religions; Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. Pi
is extremely interested in all three religions and tries to find himself through religion. Although,
he does not understand why he can t follow all three religions. But he can t be a Hindu, a
Christian and a Muslim. It s impossible. He must choose. (76) This thread represents that he
dedicates himself to the things he believes in and will fight for what he believes in. Even when
his family disagreed with his decision of following all three religions, he still fought for what he
believed.

30. Descriptive Essay On A Fall Day
Today, the weather was very humid and warm outside for mid October. It was a comfortable
temperature outside, so I decided to take my fall jacket off because I did not want to be too hot
as I was walking around the market. I m estimating that it was approximately mid to low 20 s in
temperature today, so whenever a breeze arose, it was refreshing because it was pretty warm
outside. I decided that today I would take a walk through the dessert sections of the market
before going to sit by the outdoor firepit. There were many vendors selling fudge and pastries, so
this was something I purchased because I was heading home that afternoon and I thought my
family would enjoy these treats. The firepit was not turned on today because it was fairly warm
outside, but I still decided to sit in one of the Adirondack chairs surrounding the firepit to take in
everything that was happening around me. It was very busy at the market around this time
because it was the weekend, and everybody was taking the opportunity to spend time with their
families outside on the warm fall day. I also noticed an older man performing a compilation of
folk songs on the guitar, and a small group of people huddled around the area listening to him

Marco Polo was short on his descriptions of his trip. Even in the prologue and giving a brief
description of his family and him and their trip to China. The author states that this leaves an
impersonal tone with a strong flavor of the guidebook (37). The fact that he left stuff out of the
book makes him unreliable even more with the exaggerated details. Within the book, the author
states that he left out the ladies feet that were bounded, descriptions of the places he went to, and
the tea that was known in China. The author stated he wandered around China with his eyes
alternatively open (to porcelain and palaces) and closed to ladies feet, Great Walls and proffered
cups of tea. Marco Polo s book however full of wonderful descriptions, is also filled with
inaccuracies and discrepancies (111). Even though he did not have full descriptions, I believe that
he still went to China because he could have written about things that were just interested to him.
The author states he exaggerated because he was not educated and was not an historian. It also was
stated that he might have not drank the tea because Italians and Mongols were not big tea drinkers,
he was not interested in that (137 138). Later on, the author stated as well that Perhaps we should

The Wasps is a satirical comedy written in 422 BCE by Aristophanes as the Peloponnesian War was
coming to an end. The playwright s purpose for writing this is to mock the Athenian society at the
time. Because Athens also became a democracy during the 5th century, this comedy is particularly
controversial since during the time it was written, the courts were being severely manipulated and
corrupted by Cleon. In addition to this, there various other conflicts that take place during the time
that this was written. The plot centers around the protagonist Philocleon and his antagonist
Misocleon and uses the popular Athenian democratic ideology to point out its very own flaws. The
playwright criticizes both the judicial conflicts, which is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In relation to the metaphor of wasps, the text refers to the house as being netted. It seems that
there is only one door in the home giving it a sense of a dungeon like dwelling. Misocleon sleeps
on the roof and is presumably guarding it in the instance that his father tries to escape from there
rather than the door he is aware of being blocked off. The well intentioned Misocleon, tries to
deter his father from his usual routine of going to the courts to sit on the jury for less than a
livable wage. Although his plan is doomed to fail, he still attempts to save his father from his job
as a wage slave who has unknowingly pledged his allegiance to Cleon, the demagogue. Although
Philocleon does escape from his son s poorly thought out trap, Misocleon does not accept defeat
but rather attempts to reason with his father. The father s willingness to at least debate the issue
shows that he is a fair man and is willing to hear what others have to say. Based on their discussion,
the reader can see an obvious gap in generational understanding of the litigious Athenian democracy
. Philocleon is illusioned by his petty wages and is obsessed with the praise of others and the
benefit that come along with his position such as the affection of his own daughter (600 5).
However, Misocleon fires back at his partisan father explaining that when he takes into account all

day of surgery. The authors of this study contributed these findings to nurse led efforts with early

which consisted of informing patients (in groups) of the accelerated path, and also to prepare the
patients for surgery through individual consultations with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and nurse.
However, in 2012 a study conducted in Japan addressed the question of whether nursing care

39. Leaving My Life Essay
I m leaving a life that matters because my experiences have shaped me in the person I m today.
Many circumstances have made me realized that I possess gifts and spiritual values that have
helped my private life and the people around me. My desire to create in this world drives me to
offer valuable insights for living a life of significance. Going back on my first paper, I can clearly
see the impact this class has had in my life. The paper in week 1 narrates my moved to the United
Statesand the different situations that happened ever since I moved here 15 years ago. My life
story started a long time before I moved here, but I can say the most important turning points
stared happening the day I moved to the United States. I don t remember much about my
childhood, but my mom tells me, I was a quite child, I enjoyed playing with my dolls, and loved
playing with my brother. I was a very curious little girls, and I could ask my parents a dozens of
questions a minute. As I got older, I became a shy girl, but continue asking my parents questions
about everything. Luckily, my childhood marked my life in a positive way for the most part. As
I got older, I became a social person and even though I don t have many friends, I enjoyed the
few I have because we share the same virtue and authenticity in life. As an adult, I have realized
that I rather keep few good friends, instead of having many, but not the support system I need in
my life. Beside my friends, my family have helped me

40. The Impact Of Federal Funds On The Workforce Will Affect...
Intro As my parents discuss the need to continue working several more years until retirement, I
have thought about how their continuation in the workforce will affect me after graduation. Are
there going to be less job opportunities available for the newly graduated because people like my
parents intend to work until they are 70? Also why do they believe they need to work until they
are 70? Is the low Federal Funds Rate, which sets the tone for other interest rates, impacting their
retirement savings? It is in hope of seeking answers to the questions I raised above that I selected
to research the impact the federal funds rate has on the economy and weather the continued low rate
needs to be increased.
Research
The Federal Funds Rate is arguably the most important interest rate in the world as it sets the tone
in the market. This is the overnight interest rate used when banks borrow money from other banks
or from the Federal Reserve. (Miller, 2016) If they do not have enough on hand to lend out, the
Federal Reserve would be a place where banks can borrow money overnight. The rate is a tool
used by the Fed to control the supply of available money therefore controlling inflation and other
interest rates. (Fed Funds Rate: Definition, Impact and How it Works, n.d.) The higher the rate the
more it costs to borrow money which lowers the supply of money. The lower the rate the less it
costs to borrow which increases the supply of money. While it may seem natural that a very

Winston Churchill was an influential force during World War 2 with all his inspirational quotes.
He had a short but active career in the army and he then became a conservative member of

Admiralty and he was later appointed Prime Minister of England. Queen Elizabeth II after the war
knighted Churchill and President Kennedy gave Churchill honorary U.S citizenship. Going into
his past he was the son of Lord Randolph Churchill and an American mother and he studied at

42. Coca Cola Company s New Strategy
The Coca Cola Company has been able to adapt with the times when it comes to public relations,
publicity, and advertising tactics. The company s tactics has had to evolve over the last century to
be able to keep current consumers, and attract new consumers. The key for any company is to be
able to adapted to changing technologies and processes. From the beginning, The Coca Cola
Companyunderstood the importance of having a solid brand identity. There isn t a brand that is
more branded than The Coca Cola Company. When people think of Coke, people might think of
the color red, the iconic bottle shape, or maybe even polar bears. These easy identifiable symbols
that represent Coke, allows the company to build an integrated marketing plan around the iconic
symbols. The Coca Cola Company s new integrated campaign is meant to unite all the brands
under the The Coca Cola Company s umbrella. This is a new strategy for the Coca Cola Company,
usually all the different Coke Trademark brands, such as Diet Cokeand Coke Zero have separate
campaigns. If one thinks about past Coca Cola campaigns different varieties of Coca Cola are not
featured in the same still advertising shot or commercial. The only time one see all The Coca
Cola trademark brands together are places where beverages are purchased such as a vending
machine or the grocery store. This new campaign will change that mindset. Not only does it unite
the trademarked brands, but it unites the global brands as well. This

44. American Open Library, The First Healing Facility
Americans have dependably been autonomous gathering of individuals. We simply don t care for
being advised what to do. This is genuine now as it was previously, or will be later on. It all
began in the early pilgrim time (1700) when we truly felt ourselves as Americans . Prior to that in
the 1600 s we were only pilgrims in the new America. In the 1700 s we battled with the British to
stop the union of France and Spain. We began our own particular daily paper, the Pennsylvania
Gazett distributed by Benjamin Franklin. We opened the first American open library, the first
healing facility. We began the postal administration with Benjamin Franklin as Postmaster General.
Everything was not immaculate in the provinces. The English Parliament began raising the charges
on transported in things, for example, sugar, espresso, materials and wines. We began raising the
issue of imposing taxes without any political benefit. The English Parliament ventured to present
the Quartering Act, obliging pioneers to house British troops and supply them with nourishment.
On April 19, 1775 an unordered shot starts the American Revolution. On the off chance that the
current inquiry is what were the occasions that prompt the severance of South Carolina? Why did
I burn through two passages on the American Revolution? Since I feel it is essential to help us to
remember what sort of individuals we Americans are. How we will defend ourselves. I won t say
we will battle for what is correct, one can

The French novelist, Jules Verne stated; solitude, isolation, are painful things and beyond human
endurance. Here, Verne notes that being confined to isolation is an experience that humans are
incapable of performing. Humans are social creatures, who need company and interactions with
others. In Richard Matheson s dystopian fiction, I Am Legend, Robert Neville s isolation is the
result of a pandemic. In I Am Legend, Robert Neville, the sole survivor of a vampiric plague, is
left alone. Neville is forced to pursue his life and live among the infected. He longs to find a cure
or a companion to fill the emptiness. But, the vampires pose a constant obstacle alongside his

walls inside of Neville s house, for instance, are a symbolic escape. Neither of the murals depicted
any human beings, so they reinforced his feelings of isolation. The murals act as a life force...[and

symbolizes protection and acts as a barricade. While the vampires wait on the lawn Robert is
protected within his safe haven. His home is the only connection he has to his deceased family
members. Inside his home he can research and continue to find the cause of the mutation that has
turned the population into monsters. A last symbolic element is when Robert finds the dog. The
dog symbolizes hope that Neville is not alone and that there may be more beings that have survived
like him. Shortly after Neville befriends the dog it dies. Furthermore adding to the symbol; now
creating the loss of hope. Although these symbols are different together they convey the theme of
alienation and the hope that Neville has of surviving by finding a

46. Boosting Chilean Wine Brand Through Montgras
(a) To what extent can MontGras control its own market position, as opposed to being dominated
7by the country of origin effect, and be perceived as a Chilean Wine ?
Changing the overall image of its companies wines are added to its market positioning strategy.
Even though the branding as a Chilean Wine is easily applied onto MontGras, there are many
factors in its control which can make sure that the company dominates the market by having a
bigger share as it wants to. MontGras though being smaller than some Chilean wineries, it has
been able to stand out due to its interest in high quality wines. The company wants to establish
itself as the low price yet high quality provider of wines. This is directly related to the seeds, the soil

Thus, Cabo imports are the best option for MontGras at the moment.
The UK market with respect to MontGras:
Unlike the fragmented US market, the UK was not tiered and it was also one of the most
competitive export sources in the World. One major point to consider in this market is the tax
that is levied on alcoholic drinks which is 1 pound per bottle regardless of the retail price. This
would also mean that the export of Reservas would be more beneficial as compared to Varietals
(this is in line with the company s strategic decisions as well). Again in this case, MontGras has 2
options to decide in terms of partners. The first one is the distributor that the company has been
having for a while now (since 1996). The distributor had helped MontGras gain a good position in
restaurants and other retail market too (on premise and off premise). The second option is the
leading supermarket chain Tesbury, which with the help of few promotions made the total sales
skyrocket in just a few days.
The most likely option to choose would be the currently existing distributor since completely
siding with Tesbury would majorly go against the positioning strategy planned out by MontGras.
Also in my opinion, the high volume in sales (at Tesbury) was only due to the promotion event
which is just temporary (3 days) and we will have to look into the big picture i.e. sales round the
year.

Waivers provide necessary legal protections for speech therapists, but they must be used
responsibility. Horner, et al. (2016) states waivers try to shift liability for substandard care from
health care providers to patients, courts usually find waivers of liability in the medical context
unenforceable as a matter or public policy . The article also argues that waivers of liability
undermine the relationship of trust that is essential to the patient practitioner relationship by
placing the professional s interest above the best interest of the patient (pg. 15) . This is in direct
violation of ASHA s first principle. Another possible solution might be educating the patient in a
different way to make sure she fully understands what is occurring. For example, the speech
therapist may actually show the patient her modified barium swallow study to see the aspiration.
This presentation of information in a different modality or a second opinion from another therapist
may help the client fully understand what is occurring and the potential

51. Turbo Code is Formed from the Parallel Concatenation of...
The first turbo code, based on convolutional encoding, was introduced in 1993 by Berrou etal.
Since then, several schemes have been proposed and the term turbo codes has been generalized
to cover block codes as well as convolutional codes. Simply put, a turbo code is formed from the
parallel concatenation of two codes separated by an interleaver. The turbo principle is a general
way of processing data in receivers so that no information is wasted. This technique corresponds to
an iterative exchange of soft information between different blocks in a communications receiver in
order to improve overall system performance. It has opened up a new way of thinking in the
construction of communication algorithms. This method was introduced in a system of error
control for data transmission, called turbo code. This family of Forward Error Codes (FEC) consists
of two key design innovations: concatenated encoding and iterative decoding.
The turbo principle has been extended into new receiver topologies such as turbo detection, turbo
equalization, turbo coded modulation, turbo MIMO, etc. In the case of transmission systems with
interference, such an iterative receiver, known as turbo equalizer or turbo detector achieves
significant gains in BER performance, compared with a non iterative scheme. However, the design
of high throughput, low complexity and low latency architectures for a receiver that contains an
iterative process is a great challenge.

costly to a company. When a business acts ethically correct, society benefits from the encourage
economic competition, people feel better about working for that company, and it s the right thing to

Forecasting focuses on predicting the timing and quantity of customer demand. Capacity
Planning It is essential to accurately predict what products people are willing to purchase. If
there is not enough of something people will be angry and if there is too much of another thing
you are wasting money as a company. Location Another very important aspect of a successful
supermarket, location is important. You must be in an area with the correct demographic of
people to have success. Most people will not be willing to drive an hour to go grocery shopping.
Inventory Management The entire supermarket must be working closely on inventory
management so the perfect amount of inventory is always on hand. As I mentioned before, too
little of a product results in loss of sales and unhappy customers, but too much is a waste of
resources. Layout of Store A great layout is vital for success. Grocery shopping can sometimes
be tedious, so it is essential that the layout makes the process as easy as possible for a consumer.
If a customer is having trouble finding things then they might start shopping elsewhere. Also,
things that will spoil are usually in the back left of a store because that is where the customer will
finish shopping thus reducing the time the product will spend not being refrigerated. Scheduling A

always have fresh products and the right people

55. Personal Student Education
Obtaining an education throughout life is vital for not only personal success, but also for success
in our society and in our country. Education even goes beyond the classroom, and it is important for
every student to gain knowledge about life. In my future classroom, I plan to focus on individual
student educationby promoting positive learning, demonstrating enthusiasm, and helping the
students to develop lifelong skills to form relationships.
It is important for educators to notice the patterns of development within each child to ensure
appropriate methods and possible accommodations to help each student to become successful.
Because each student is different, I plan to focus on individual learning. I would like to practice
this in a way that makes the child feel special, but not discouraged by feeling different from their
peers. In my classroom, I would like to practice a method called Flexible Seating. This type of
seating in the classroom allows the students to think as individuals, as they are given the choice
to sit wherever and however they would like. The learners choose from sitting on exercise balls,
different sized desks, pillows, and even more choices, while they preform school work. This
could be one teaching tool to help them long term, learning to deal with their different learning
styles and needs. Throughout my schooling career, most of my decisions were made for me, and
it disabled me when I came to college. I know choosing a seat is not a grave
