50s through 70s in America are a great example of this, for so many of this era s

long before the Vietnam War and was not just an American trend; in fact, two of the
most influential and famous pieces of the early 20th century were products of
political oppression on the other side of the world. Both Paul Hindemith, under the
Nazi Regime, and Dmitri Shostakovich, under the communist reign of Stalin,
managed to fight political oppression through their music. The two composers had
very different ways of doing so. Hindemith wrote two separate pieces, one that
directly opposed the Nazi regime, and another that was so nationalistic he was
forgiven for his previous mistakes , whereas Shostakovich wrote a single piece which
seemed just as nationalistic as Hindemith s symphony yet it had a deeper, much more

y name is Madison Newman. I am tall with auburn hair and blue eyes. I live the
normal life of a seventeen year old in high school. I have sublime friends, a great

We, the state of Minnesota, have a big decision coming up when it comes to mining
the copper and nickel in the boundary waters. Sulfide mining has been stereotyped as
a major pollutant to nearby waterways. As this may have been proven true with other
mining corporations, PolyMet Mining has found a new way of reusing the sulfide as
renewable energy instead of flushing it back into the waterways. Minnesotais home to
one of the largest deposits of copper, nickel, and other precious metals. Currently
there is only one copper and nickel mine currently being used in the United States.
With the U.S consuming more than 202,000 tons of nickel annually, there could be a
shortage of copper and nickel in the near future. Many commonly used equipment has
copper and nickel in it. Some examples of this equipment and common everyday
things include: Food preparation equipment, mobile phones, medical equipment,
transportation, buildings, and power generation. With a high demand for copper and
nickel, not being able to replace these metals may result in an increase of prices of
these commonly used items (Where). For those people who are against the mining,
imagine life without mobile phones and medical equipment. Copper and nickel is
more important than most people think.

struggling to forget the past by having constant flashbacks, her desire to escape

How I Begin As A Head Teacher
Episode Four Headship
In this section I provide an account of how I begin as a head teacher and how I take
the lead in a pilot developing integrated services in partnership with the local
authority. I reflect on the compromises I had to make after the school was
identified as a school eligible for National Challenge (NC) funding . As previously,
I consider my identity, I also step aside to consider performitivity , a concept I
believe changed the identity of leaders (as league tables were published) and capable

I had little doubt by the way I was approached that they identified me as their head
teacher but at this stage I did not. I still identified, maybe not as a deputy head
teacher as the zone work had moved me on from that position, but certainly not as a
head teacher. I was going to have to reconstruct myself very quickly into this new
role.
There was no time to consider leadership in the first week or even describe it as a
phase of learning but I am of no doubt that it was. The demands and expectations of
being a head teacher moved with momentous speed. The shift from each leadership
role came with differing decision making responsibilities but this was different. I
had not reaslised the reach of decisions made by head teachers each and every day. I
was so struck by the range that I made a point of recording in my journal some of
what they were and how I felt about my first week. This is what I wrote:
It is an odd feeling I have. People want to meet me as though I am important but I
am not I am just me. I wonder will they be disappointed when they find this out. I
don t appear to have anything really to do I am sure this will change. I have made so
many decisions I wonder if I should have. Very few of the decisions link directly to
achievement or maybe they all do. I think I will be happy here but next week I need
to be the person

artwork, a symbol of innovation and monetary means that has failed and brought
people down with it. Planes, much like corporations, are supposed to have very
few chinks in their armor, but both can go down; both are vulnerable under their
guise of perfection. There is also the case of religion, where a statue of Jesus is
seen being worshipped by a considerably smaller family. Religion is a form of
protection, both for the herd immunity and for the surety of an afterlife, and the
family is beneath, quite vulnerable. However, the statue is white, like the scribbles
surrounding it, while the family is not and would take more work to scribble over
because of this. This suggests that religion can be consumed easily and has less
