The Link Between The Term Pidgins Essay

PIDGINS IN SUDIA ARABIA Pidgin could be defined as a language that results from two
different people who are not able to speak a each other language so they can interact with and
understand each other.
This is situation can be a result of different circumstances like war, colonization, slavery and
international trade.
Some definitions of pidgins although are pidgins have no static definitions : Ferguson (1971)
refers to pidgins and creoles as simplified speech used to communicate with people who are
considered unable to understand normal speech, such as babies or foreigners. One of the essential
points that should be clarified in this context is the link between the term pidgins. This linguistic
variety is used in the contact between two speech communities from two different linguistic
backgrounds (Al Azraqi 2010; Al Moaily, 2008).Bresnan and Roberts (2008:272) state that pidgins
develop as auxiliary languages and thus lack native communities, at least initially .
Although the contact is between two languages, the vocabulary of a pidgin comes particularly from
one dominant language called the lexifier or superstrate , while the non dominant language is
called the substrate (Al Moaily, 2008; Bizri, 2009; Al Azraqi, 2010). Pidgins also do not have a
stable grammatical structure and they are usually used specifically among adults for a short
period of time (Al Azraqi, 2010). However creoles are classified as more

Trojan Women Analysis
The Trojan Women was an eye opening escapade for multiple viewers. This play was written by
Ellen McLaughlin, directed by Evan Parry, and produced by the College of Charleston s
Department of Theatre and Dance. The cruel effects of war on the world is evident; however, most
forget about the heartache women behind the scenes experience. McLaughlin wrote a moving script
that portrays the struggles these women are forced to face such as prostitution and slavery. Parry
displayed an emphasis on the art of dreaming and the anguish of detachment. The Trojan Women
was not a play for all types of audiences due to the high level of interpretation required for the
viewer. Personally, this play is not one I would see twice. However, the acting, the set design, and
the direction tied together interestingly to make this production.
Initially, the acting was stellar and amplified to clarify the theme of the play. In the beginning, the
chorus of Trojan women laughed, danced, and displayed an unbreakable strong bond between
women that could not be broken by the inevitable war. The women s spirits diminished through
their actions as the play progressed ultimately showing enslavement to the Greeks. A few roles
complimented with unique performers emerged from the rest. Hecuba played by Abriana QuiГ±ones
was breathtakingly wonderful in capturing the audience when expressing the heartache of losing
Troy. The weeping and restlessness was raw and authentic. Andromacheplayed by Bess Lawson

How Does Iago Say That Desdemona Is Evil In Othello
Shakespeare s play Othello, focuses on the real tragedies of the play which is the character Othello
s willingness to believe Iago s lies but also how Iago plays on Othello s few insecurities. Othello is
clearly not to blame for most of the tragedy as the audience sees how crafty Iago is with other
characters. He can manipulate Roderigo and Cassio so easily. It takes Iagoan entire act and part of
another to convince Othellothat Desdemonais unfaithful. Othello does not fall easily, but he does
fall. Othello is a good man. He sees the good in others. Iago is aware of that fact. This brings up
more important questions such as: are good people more vulnerable because they are less
suspicious than evil ones? Do we tend to judge others as we are ourselves?... Show more content on

To make his plans work, Iago used psychological manipulation on his victims and used their
emotional weaknesses to his advantage. Iago s first victim was Roderigo. He manipulated
Roderigo by feasting on the emotions and desires he had for Desdemona. Iago made Roderigo
believe that he could help him get closer to Desdemona, and Roderigo, being very gullible,
believed this. Iago convinced Roderigo to start a fight with Cassio and to even sell his
properties so Iago would have enough money to travel to Cyprus. This is seen in I could never
better stead thee than now. Put money in thy purse. , Iago said this many times to make Rodrigo
believe it. This is proof that Iago s manipulation worked when Roderigo said I ll sell all my land.

Assignment On Steeple And Swot Analysis
Part 3: Critically analyse task 6, 7 and 9 from the workbook
Task 6 and 7: STEEPLE and SWOT analysis
Strategic analysis tools or strategic frameworks are developed to direct organisational tactics and
match faculty abilities with market chances so that the faculty can achieve a strategic planning and
a unified set of goals including continuing analysis and evaluation (Tomlinson, 2011). Most
institutions can adopt one or more strategic frameworks to drive faculty development by providing
critical external and internal factors using STEEPLE and SWOT analysis, respectively to formulate
the strategy. However, errors and potential limitations of strategic frameworks can occur, if
organisations have inabilities of managerial and administrative such as lack of skill and experience
to create an effective strategy (Tomlinson, 2011).
According to the STEEPLE analysis framework, this framework is used to categorise and
determine the factors of macro environment and external influences that may affect the
performance of organisations and future activities in both the short and long term (Grant, 2008).
STEEPLE is an acronym for social, technological, economic, environmental, political, legal and
ethical considerations so a strategic project team needs to analyse and identify the potential impact
of these composing factors such as changes, trends and movements in order to maximise efficiency
of the organisation (Jones Murray, 2008). Moreover, it requires a deeper knowledge and critical

Firewalls And Intrusion Detection Systems Essay
In an e commerce world, organizations are susceptible to hackers and intruders. Thus creating the
information technology protection systems which is used to reduce the possibility of intrusions
from occurring. Intrusions occur by uninvited outsiders (sometimes intruders can be internal users
like employees) who try to access an organization s information system using the internet with the
intent to gain competitive advantage of some sort. Organizations depend on securitytechnology to
avoid loss from security breach, as well as to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. However,
firewalls are also vulnerable to errors, and implementing a security technology comes with
challenges and critical decisions that can possibly cause a financial burden on the organization if
done without seriousness and commitment. Information securityis about managing risk, and
managing risk is about discovering and measuring threats to information assets; and taking actions
to respond to those threats (Al Awadi, Renaud, 2007, p.3). This paper will discuss a few aspects
that are involved with firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Firewalls is categorized as a preventive control which is used as a defense shield around IT systems
to keep intruders and hacking from occurring, whereas, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which
is categorized as a detective control is used to detect intrusions that have already occurred
(Cavusoglu, Mishra, Raghunathan, 2005). However, IDSs are not

Offshore Oil Drilling Research Paper
Offshore Oil Drilling in United States Waters Oil is one of the most precious substances on Earth.
It takes millions of years to form and has many applications throughout the world. Offshore oil
drilling in the coastal waters of the United States is a technique used by companies to extract the
oil buried deep beneath the ocean floor. Many people refer to the ways that offshore drilling will
help the economy, both locally and globally, but despite the apparent benefits, the process is not
without controversy. Oilrigs produce wastes which affect marine life and the associated fishing
industry, and they pose a danger to the employees who operate them. Because of these
consequences, the United States should look to restrict offshore oil drilling.... Show more content on

damaged leading to the loss of life (McMahon 1). In 2012, 138 workers died while on the job, an
increase of more than 100 percent over the years previous. According to data from the Bureau of
Labor Statistics, the rate of fatalities among oil workers is now eight times higher than the all
industry rate of 3.2 deaths for every 100,000 workers, and for offshore oil workers, the rate is now
27.1 percent per 100,000 workers (On The Job 1). Not surprisingly, the worst offshore oil disaster

How Does Beetle Mass Affect The Beetle s Pulling Power
Mackenzie Madden, T.J Manning,September 2nd, 2015 Danny Minogue, Lindsay Newton
The Effect of Beetle Mass on the Beetle s Pulling Power
Introduction
Does beetle mass effect the pulling power? This theory has been tested by conducting an
experiment with a bess beetle and some paperclips. Pulling power was calculated by dividing the
mass the beetle pulled by the mass of the individual beetle. The data that was collected was
processed into a graph that shows how mass affects the pulling power of these beetles. Bess
beetles are very interesting creatures with a lot of variety. The Bess beetle population makes up
0.14% of all beetles so it was definitely hard to pick just the right one to test. The hypothesis of
this experiment is if the beetle has a large mass, then it will be able to have more pulling power.

Next the beetle was weighed and it s weight was recorded. The dental floss was then tied around
the second and third legs, and taped to the petri dish. A strip of cloth was also needed to provide
traction for the beetle. Then, the petri dish was removed from the beetle and the weight of the
petri dish was recorded. The experiment was then ready to be performed. Paperclips were added
to the dish every 5 10 seconds until the beetle could pull it no more. Then, the petri dish was
removed from the beetle and the weight of was recorded. This experiment s dependent variable was
the amount of mass the beetle can pull, and the independent variable was the mass of the beetle.
There was no control group in this experiment. These were the materials and methods used to

Eric Foner Give Me Freedom Analysis
As Eric Foner said in his Give me Liberty! Whites considered freedom a birthright, so they have
always been free. Ironically, however, blacks did not have that right, as they were mistreated and
abused both physically and sexually. For that reason, blacks, in this case African Americans, have
always had to fight to get the same rights as white Americans, and as the excerpt says, it has not yet
ended, since there is still racism and inequality among whites and blacks. Paradoxically, the United
Statesof America is known for being the country of freedom, however, freedom is only for whites.
For many years, the economy of the United States was based on slavery system. They were
bought and sold, constantly passed from one master to another. They were forced to work in really
bad conditions and do whatever the chief ordered. Why did whites do this? They considered it a
good way to ensure equality between whitesгѓјan equality at the expense of the freedom of others.
In addition, whites saw themselves as a superior race, since they thought that blacks were no more
than savages. As (give me liberty book) says, the Americans considered their country as a country
of free men and Britain a kingdom of slaves (page 289) is ironic because there were areas where
nearly half of the population were slaves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the segregation law, this division and discrimination became increasingly strong. It consists
in the separation of different racial groups in daily life, whether in restaurants, buses, schools,
cinemas, etc. There was a well known case against this separation that took place on a bus. Mrs.
Rosa Parks refused to obey the Montgomery law providing segregation on city buses, she decided
to sit down in the white section of the bus. As a consequence, she was arrested. On an interview
she said: [...] I wanted to know: when and how would we ever determine our rights as human

The Importance Of Sexuality In Pop Culture
The topic of sexuality naturally creates a firestorm for debate. Many in the American public, as
well as people worldwide consider the topic of sex and or sexuality to be taboo. The approval of
forms of sexual expression that are deemed to be outside of the normal have been slow to gain
acceptance in the mainstreamculture. However, the influence of pop culture has begun to change
many views on what exactly is normal. The acceptance of different forms of sexuality is in large
part due to pop culture. Pop culture has always been a precursor to what are now socially
acceptable mainstream norms . Everything from music (rock, rap, metal), movies, reality TV,
and tattoos, were all based in pop culture before being every day mainstream normal activities,
and sexuality is no different. It seems the more pop culture shuns the restraints on the different
ways people experience and express themselves as sexual beings, the more mainstream it has
become. One of most telling examples of this is when author J.K Rowling s of Harry Potter
fame, announced that the character Albus Dumbledore was gay (Trew). Not only was this met
with resounding cheers and elation, the readers wondered, why it took so long to announce it.
This certainly would not have been the case in years passed. Apart from straight white male
sexuality or sexual expression, any other types of sexual expression were usually not open for
discussion. Pop culture has been and continues to be very beneficial in changing that. Movies
like Disclosure (1994), where Demi Moore plays as strong sexual anti hero and television shows
such as Sex and the City and The L Word where the plots are driven by female sexuality have
become more popular than ever. Female sexual expression is at point where women are able
express themselves as openly as their male counterparts. This is also true in the LGBT community.
While not completely on par with female sexuality, pop culture has helped the LGBT community in
making great strides with mainstream acceptance.
It was just a mere 20 years ago, when advertisers threatened to pull funding from networks that
aired gay content. Now the subject seems inescapable (Jacobs 5 8). Many of our current favorite
pop culture

environment strategy interface. The foundation had been set by the near legendary CEO Jack

extremely efficient machine that delivered consistent growth in sales and earnings not only through
effective operations management that resulted in organic growth (much of it productivity driven)

Although Welch s strategy was successful during his time as CEO, Immelt became conscious of
how impossible it would be to continue to provide that level of performance by merely continuing
upon the same strategy. Therefore Immelt decided that a change to the firm s strategy would be
necessary for the continual growth of GE.
b.Immelt disagreed with applying the term conglomerate as he preferred to view it as a well
integrated, diversified company that had outstanding financial disciplines, practiced sharing top
talent, and possessed unyielding integrity. Having committed to the assets, resources and
capabilities currently at his disposal, he shared his vision of moving into the market of big,
fundamental high technology infrastructure industries where he believed GE would have a
competitive advantage due to its size, and the fact that it could dominate that market because of the
high barriers to entry that would be involved.
c.Immelt believed that despite the need for a shift in strategy, he would build upon the firm s core
elements that have resulted in such a strong success such as the portfolio of strong businesses,
bound through a set of companywide strategic initiatives and managed by great people in a culture
that was performance driven and adaptive. Immelt understood the importance of this key
constituent as it provided the competitive advantage that is difficult

that are associated with the works council. (Befort, 2004). Employees who are members of a

The Anatomy Of The Knee Injuries
Shianne Rey
Complete Tear of the ACL A torn ACL is one of the most serious and common knee injuries. Many
aspects play a role in the treatment and rehabilitation of this injury. This paper will discuss the
anatomy of the knee, describe a torn ACL, and the rehabilitation. The knee is a hinge joint which
gives the legs mobility. The muscles and ligaments of this joint allows flexion and extension of the
leg. Because the knee supports the majority of the body weight, it is at risk of overuse and
traumatic injuries (France). The knee is composed of 3 major bones; the femur, tibia, and the
fibula. The femur is the biggest bone in the human body, the inferior end flares out into two
rounded landmarks called femoral condyles. Their name comes from the side of the body they
are on, which is where we get Lateral Femoral Condyle and Media Femoral Condyle. Superiorly
to these condlyes are the medial and lateral femoral epicondyles. The bones inferior to the femur
are the Tibia and Fibula. The superior end of the Tibia flares out into slightly concave structures
called the Tibial Plateaus. A crescent wedge shape of cartilage sits in each plateau. These are the
Medial Meniscus and the Lateral Meniscus. This cartilage acts as a shock absorber and distributes
forces. The menisci are bathed by the synovial fluid of the knee (France). The meniscus is what
separates the each side of the Tibia and Femur and the transverse ligament connects each menisci.
There is a circular bone on the

The Law Regarding Non Compete Agreements Essay
Courts in Texas continue to struggle with the law regarding non compete agreements, as a recent
decision by the Dallas Court of Appeals indicates. That opinion adds to the trouble Texas employers
may face when they seek to protect their business interests through enforcement of existing non
compete agreements with at will employees.
A fundamental requirement for enforceability of a non compete agreement in Texas is that the
agreement must be ancillary to or part of an otherwise enforceable agreement at the time the
agreement is made. Tex. Bus. Com. Code §§ 15.50. If the only other agreement with the
employee is the at will employment relationship, the covenant not to compete is not enforceable.
Notwithstanding a reference in the statute to at will employment relationships, the Texas Supreme
Court has held that an employment at will relationship, without more, does not constitute an
otherwise enforceable agreement. Light v. Centel Cellular Co., 883 S.W.2d 642 (Tex. 1994).
Employers often argue that a covenant not to compete can be ancillary to an agreement not to
disclose confidential information. The court in the Light decision cited such an agreement, given in
exchange for the employer actually providing the information, as an example of an otherwise
enforceable agreement. However, since then, several cases have raised concerns about how the
courts will construe these types of agreements in the future.
First, the agreement must contain a promise to actually

Unindigenous Species
The Introduction of nonindigenous Species The most important aspect of a government is their
ability to be able to decide for the people. One major decision that comes from the government is
whether or not non indigenous species should be transferred to another country. Since invasive
species tend to result in negative impacts rather than beneficial ones, stricter regulations should be
put into effect to avoid the possibility of unintended negative consequences because of the harm
that could come out of the transfer at the end. Yet, introduced species could be major improvements
in some aspects, therefore these stricter regulations should be based upon important studies and
considerations. As a result, the most important consideration that... Show more content on

Since an invasive species can be any kind of newly introduced living organism then it would be
hard to determine what risk there would be from the introduction and what they would result in
since, Approximately 42% of Threatened or Endangered species are at risk primarily due to
invasive species (Source A). This shows that the introduction between these species have either not
been thought out well or nothing has been done to prevent these threats. Since the protection of the
native specie and the ability of the non native specie to adapt to the new environment is a crucial
factor for a good encounter, the results must first be calculated as accurate as possible in order for
the government to base the decision upon because the non native species will endanger the native
specie if it becomes more dominant. Therefore, the habitat and food cycle of the native species
must also be studied in order to prevent any altercations because they are considered one of the
most impacted areas when the defence system of the native species is off. As a result, transferring
the non indigenous specie into the habitat of a native specie will only be beneficial if there is
balance in their ability to defend themselves from one

After Japan rejected the U.S. demand for surrender, president Truman said in his announcement
speech, We are now prepared to obliterate more rapidly and completely every productive
enterprise the Japanese have above ground in any city. We shall destroy their docks, their
factories, and their communications. Let there be no mistake; we shall completely destroy
Japan s power to make war (Harry 1). The science and industry of the United States, under the
leadership of the army achieved very great successes, especially in the invention of the atomic
bomb. In the hands of America was the most powerful weapon, therefore they were not afraid to
seize and destroy Japan. According to American History, Truman said in his speech about
bombing Japan, If they do not now accept our terms they may expect a rain of ruin from the air,
the like of which has never been seen on this earth (Harry 1). President of the United States wasn t
glad when Japan rejected surrendering because he knew that Japan would regret it. Later, the

Richard Freeman Research Paper
Richard Freeman was born at Oakland Naval Hospital on October 8, 1986 to Windy Rice and Dale
Freeman. He was raised by his mom and grandparents with his sister. As a child, his family moved
a lot because his grandfather was in the Navy. He loved playing football. He enjoyed his
childhood. As a Freshman in High schoolon 9/11 he watched the twin towers fall in English class.
He wanted to hurt the terrorists that attacked our country. He felt this as a calling to join the military.
At 17 Richard joined the Army. He went to basic training between his junior and senior year in
high school at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. He describes basic training as 90% mental and
10% physical. He felt this was one of the easiest parts of his military service. He had to stay 2

Analysis Of An Open Letter On Translating By Martin Luther
An Open Letter On Translating by Martin Luther is a letter about two questions that Worthy N.
asked in a previous conversation. The two questions were: why did Luther translate Romans 3 to
state that it is not by works but only by faith that Christians are saved and, additionally, do deceased
saints intercede for Christians. Luther addresses the first question by talking about how the Papists
are asses. The letter specifically writes Dr. Martin Lutherwill have it so and he says that a papist
and an ass are the same thing. The reason for him saying this was because the Papists disagreed
with his new German translation of Romans 3. The translation differentiated from the Latin bible
when Luther s translated We hold that the human will be justified without the works of the law but
only by faith. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the second question, do deceased saints intercede (talk to God) for Christians, Luther responded
by bringing up the point where Papists taught that saints do intercede for Christians. Luther
disagreed with this view because Scripture does not [say] such. Luther also recalls that there is not
a single passage from God demanding us to call upon either saints or angels to intercede for us. To
summarize, Luther answered the last question saying that God is not angry but believing and
performing any actions towards saint intercession is wrong because nowhere is it stated that God
commands it. Moreover, this document is a testament of the Reformation due to topic being about
the new translation of the Bible. Originally the Bible was only in Latin and the general population
of Germany didn t understand Latin (Different Britannica). Martin Luther saw this as a problem
and as a result translated the Bible into German. This transformed Christianity because the
individual was now able to progress on their own accord, this being one of the key elements of the
Reformation (Different Britannica). Therefore, it is clear that this document is a testament of the

Ancient Mayan Script Of The Maya
Ancient Mayan Script The Maya hieroglyphic writing is perhaps one of the most complex
writing systems in the world. This writing system contains over hundreds of rare signs or glyphs
in the form of humans, animals, and objects. Many of these signs contained either logograms or
syllabograms to write words, sentences, and phrases. Logograms were to used express the
meaning and syllabograms to denote sound values. The Mayan s were able to write anything that
they can say. They were able to turn whatever they spoke into a writing form because of their one
of a kind writing system. The Maya were actually not a group of single people but many nations
with several but linked cultures, religions, and languages. Of the many Maya languages, only two...

He found a specific category of hieroglyph that he called Emblem Glyphs he noticed that this
glyph had a standard position and form in Maya texts: they occurred towards the end of
passages (Culbert 19). Another important object found was the Maya Glyph Block (AMNH),
which contained Mayan Glyphs on a block. We found that the order to read Maya glyphs is not
as easy as it would seem. Glyph blocks were arranged in a grid and they are read in paired
columns. The first block is on the top left and the second is to the right of the first. (AS Web)
Next thing that major in the Maya writing system was the numbers. Numbers and Calendar were
the first part of the Mayan writing system to be deciphered by scholars during the 19th century.
Comparable to our writing system and the Babylonians, the Maya used the idea of place value.
Except we have a place value that increases from right to left in multiples of 10, the Maya system
has a place value that increases in multiples of 20. Instead of the place value increasing
horizontally from right to left, the Maya increased vertically moving up the page. For example,
three is represented and three dots and five are represented as a bar. The Maya scribes loved
decoration and complexity for its own sake as a result each number from 1 to 20

The New York City s Puerto Rican Community
On 7 June 1969, hundreds of Puerto Ricans gathered in Spanish Harlem, New York City to
protest the arrest of Juan Fi Ortiz for a series of falsified crimes.[2] As a crowd gathered outside
the People s Church in El Barrio, Felipe Luciano addressed those assembled asserting that, We will
not allow the brutalization of our community to go on without a response. For every Puerto Rican
that is brutalized, there will be retaliation. [3]Luciano s statements were not ignored, and as the
crowd filtered into the streets their shouts of Despierta, Boricua. Defiende lo tuyo filled the air.
The events of 7 June 1969 were but one of many moments in the history of New York Citys Puerto
Rican community that gave rise to and lent support for the Young Lords Party.[4] Indeed over the
course of the next five years this ethnic group of radical intellectuals would help bring attention to
the plight of the Puerto Rican community in New York City. This essay explores the history of the
late twentieth century Puerto Rican migrants in New York City through an examination of the
Young Lords Party (1969 to 1974). In doing so, it examines several significant topics, including the
growth of the Puerto Rican population in New York City; the unique challenges this ethnic group
faced, and the origins, growth and decline of the Young Lords Party.

However, this gave way to an entrepreneurial approach that primarily focused on local
development and employment growth in the following decades. This is mirrored across the
capitalist world, but is perhaps most evident in the United States where the reduction in the flow
of federal redistributions and local tax revenues after 1972 led to this revival in civic boosterism
and entrepreneurialism (Harvey, 1989). It certainly has far reaching consequences in that future
growth prospects may all be about playing the capitalist game , the paving to a zero sum
development. To that, Harvey asserted that urban entrepreneurialism (1) is based on public private
partnership so that local boosterism attracts external sources of funding, direct investments, and
employment sources, (2) is speculative in general and thus compounded with risks and difficulties
that are absorbed by the local public sector, and (3) places emphasis on political economy rather
than economic projects that improve living and working conditions. The extension is a prime

Persistent Subcultures
Perhaps the most culturally diverse nation on the globe, the United States is home to a dominant
Anglo American Protestant culture intermixed and alongside a host of sub cultures that live and
thrive on US soil. Among these cultures exists an array of distinct form of living all who boast an
identity specific to only that select group. These subcultures exist in a couple different forms;
convergent subcultures and persistent subcultures. First, convergent subcultures intend toward
assimilation with the dominant society through various tactics to include: residential clustering,
adherence to the language, dress, and cultural norms of their native land (Parrillo, 42). Contrarily,
some cultures simply do not assimilate. In these cases, persistent subcultures adhere as much as
possible to their own way of life and resist absorption into the dominant culture(Parrillo, 43).

Some do not even desire to do so, and others, particularly non White groups, face difficulties in

It is a strong belief of mine that the responsibility of protecting the environment is much greater on

because at this point a substantial amount of damage has already been done and in order to prevent
any further environmental destruction intervention on our part is necessary. After all, we (humans)
are the main cause of the problems; shouldn t we also be a part of the cure. If we had always taken

Victorian Internet Chapter 1 Summary
The Victorian Internet tells of telegraph s development and creation. Also, it talks of its
remarkable impact, oddballs, and the visionaries together with the eccentrics who pioneered the
telegram development. According to the book, by the year 1865, the telegraph cables started to
span into different oceans to continents rapidly and played an essential role of revolutionizing on
ways countries dealt with each other (Standage 15). Due to the creation of telegram, the book

understand the uniqueness that was associated with telegraph technology in transforming society,
accelerating the world together with annihilating distances. Standage portrays an inner description
of coding books that were used by brokers and traders, as well as the establishment of new and

The Celebration Of Womanhood By Maya Angelou
The Celebration of Womanhood
Women s beauty has been one of the favorite subjects of many literary works. Many genius authors
have admired women s physical beauty according to their imaginations. However, their literary
works, the male dominated society and the female community have also served as accomplices in
creating notion about the beauty of women. In our society, it is believed that a woman should have
fair skin, hourglass figure and long hair to attain the title of a beautiful woman . This notion has
degraded the stature of the entire female community instead of elevating it. The revolutionary poet,
Maya Angelou, tried to break this notion by writing a poem to give tribute to an average looking
woman who can become trendsetter and leader in her field of interest despite of not having fair
skin and the hourglass figure. In the poem Phenomenal Woman , the author urges women to be
proud of them and their gender and to celebrate the womanhood instead of being ashamed of it.
Maya Angelou has been regarded as an acclaimed poet whose literary works focus on her real life
experiences (1). Phenomenal Woman falls into the category of poems based on the real life
experiences and the human truth. The author narrates the poem as the first person which reflects
how audacious personality Maya was. Being a modernist writer, Maya Angelou uses imagery to
compare her physical attributes such as her smile, gesture to the worldly objects. The use of
symbolism is also

The Unsolved Murder Case of JonBenet Ramsey
[At the end of the hour] only GOD... will know the truth is going to prevail. JonBenet Ramsey.
JonBenet Ramsey was murdered in her family s home on December 25, 1996 in Boulder, Colorado.
The murder case of JonBenet Ramsey should be re investigated due to the improvements in
technological crime solving techniques and recent research.
JonBenet Patricia Ramsey s short life began on August 9 of 1990. Her father John, was a very
wealthy businessman and her mother Patricia, was a socialite. JonBenet was a complete pageant
kid , she had multiple titles such as America s Royal Miss, Colorado State All Star Kids Cover
Girl, Little Miss Charlevoix Michigan, Little Miss Colorado, Little Miss Merry Christmas, Little
Miss Sunburst, and National Tiny Miss Beauty .(IMDb) Her last beauty pageant was on December
17, 1996, it was the Rockin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the case of JonBenet there is a conspiracy that she is Katy Perry.Everyone knows that
conspiracies are just something to talk about with your gossip group. First off, Katy Perry was
born on October 25, 1984 and JonBenet on August 9, 1990. JonBenet died in 1996 which would
have made Katy Perry twelve years old. A twelve years old s body will not look like small six
year old s body. In the conspiracy theory video that surfaced December of 2014, Dave Johnson
lays a photo of JonBenet over Katy Perry s face, and yes they do have similar looking facial
features, but that doesn t make Katy Perry, JonBenet. Most people have a look alike and that doesn
t mean anything. Dave Johnson also tries to convince society that Nobody died, nobody got hurt.
That sacrifice was in name only, and that was to get something, and that something was to become a
star. JonBenet became Katy Perry, and that s a

The Periodic Table Of Elements
Throughout history the periodic table of elements has been influenced and amended by multiple
scientists. These scientists include Johann Dobereiner, A.E Beguyer de Chancourtois, John
Newlands, and Glenn Seaborg. As well as Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev and Lothar Meyer the
creators of the periodic table. There are many ways that the periodic table of elements was set
out. For example the table can be organized using patterns between atomic numbers,
electronegativity, ionization energy, structure (gas or solid) valence electrons and electron
configuration (shells) as seen in the modern day periodic table. Before history was recorded
humans had knowledge of certain elements including gold (Au), copper (Cu), silver (Ag),
mercury (Hg), tin (Sn) and lead (Pb). Nevertheless, it wasn t until the year of 1669 that Hennig
Brand discovered the very first element Phosphorous (P) through scientific inquiry. Hennig Brand
discovered phosphorous through extracting it from urine. Due to the element having the ability to
grow in the dark it was referred to as light bearer . In 1980 English chemist Robert Boyle
discovered phosphorous independently, following Hennig Brand keeping the process of his
discovery secret. Additionally, Johann Dobereiner began grouping elements with like properties
into triads groups of 3 elements between 1817 and 1829. His work began in 1817 after he noticed
that the atomic weight of Strontium (Sr) was medially between the atomic weights of calcium and

1.1 Explain The Role Of Spinal Cord Injury In The Uk
Physiotherapists at a specialist centre in London are helping people with spinal cord injuries to get
fit, achieve personal rehab goals and receive life long care.
Benita Hexter and Sue Paddison are clinical specialist physiotherapists at the London Spinal Cord
Injury Centre, part of the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust in Stanmore, Middlesex.
Together they lead the centre s 14 strong team of physios, physio technicians and administrative
staff. The team also works closely with a range of other professionals including occupational
therapists, orthotists, dietitians and speech and language therapists.
Mrs Paddison explains that the centre is one of 12 spinal cord injury centres in the UK, which
provide life long care for people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When we first meet them we try to help them have an understanding, so they can make an informed
choice, and instil healthy habits early on, says Mrs Paddison.
Mrs Hexter explains that some patients can find it difficult to avoid having a sedentary lifestyle, as
exercising can be more challenging.
Fitness is a big issue for most, because it is very hard to keep fit as a wheelchair user, she says
Added to this is the fact that medical advances mean spinal cord injury patients are living much
longer than in the past, and going on to develop secondary conditions such as diabetes, heart disease
and obesity.
To combat these problems the physios also make use of the latest technology to help improve
patients fitness, wellbeing and participation.
For instance functional electrical stimulation (FES) bikes are core to our work and have been for
many years, says Mrs Paddison.
The FES bikes allow many people with spinal cord injuries to reach an exercise threshold they
would not otherwise be able to achieve.
If you don t have any activity in your lower limb muscles, reaching that threshold is really difficult,
if not impossible for some people, says Mrs

Deception In The Importance Of Being Ernest
The truth is rarely pure and never simple. The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, is a
story in which the attitude and dialogue simply distinguishes each character for who they truly are.
Additionally, the key setting of The Importance of Being Earnest revolves around the idea of
deception. Throughout the story, the characters begin to unveil their actual backgrounds after
committing the act of telling a variety of lies. Correspondingly, in this victorian erasociety the
character live in, it is ingrained in the minds of individuals that marriage has everything to do with
status; or in this case, the name. One character in particular that caught my attention was Algernon
Moncrieff. I believe this because through the use of deception, Wilde manages to contribute to the
work as a whole through his bravado attitude, comedic relief, and the honest threaded into his lies....

To be more specific, it is easy to identify Algernon as one of the most laid back characters, as
chaos passes by. An example of this deceit is when he asks for Gwendolyn s hand in marriage. In
this instance, he begins to lie about his name, simply because Gwendolyn does not seem to be
interestested in a man named Algernon. In the act of these lies, Algernon manages to stay loose,
and follow through with his attitude. Due to this, he gives a filter to the readers that everything is
okay, even though towards the end, all the truth is

Elements That Make Up My Cultural Identity
There are many aspects that make up our culture that help convey our sense of identity. When I
think of culture, I think of how people live or act, but it is more than that. Some of the elements that
make up culture identity include race, religion, and even age. No one has the same cultural identity,
which makes each of us unique. Although having different cultures may cause conflict, it makes up
who we are. My cultural identity is mostly impacted by language, but that is only one of the
element that makes up who I am. Language makes up my culturebecause it is the way I
communicate with people. I am a bilateral speaker, meaning I speak two languages: English and
Gujarati. Speaking two languages could be helpful in communicating

The Presence Of Social Pressure And Stop Playing With Toys
The presence of social pressure to stop playing with toys featured most commonly among the
participants. They all specifically mentioned some form of conformity to social norms of growing
up (e.g., R27, 151 152; R33, 238 241; R46, 158 160; R51, 302 304; R57, 108 111; R59, 144 146).
They provided examples of alternative activities that were considered acceptable for adults, such
as hanging out with friends (e.g., R27, 103 104; R59, 72 73), and electronic games (e.g., R46, 158
160; R59, 79 80).
The pressure that participants felt to move on from playing with toys appeared to emerge either
internally, stemming from self identification as grown up (e.g., R33, 121 123; R46, 254 255; R51,
79; R59, 55) or externally, through observation and imitation of peer behaviour (e.g., R46, 124 126;
R59, 144 146) In a few instances, participants mentioned being explicitly told by peers that playing
with toys was no longer acceptable (e.g., R27, 188 190; R57, 108 111; R59, 71 72), although
parents were rarely cited as a source of pressure (e.g., R57, 114 115; R59, 140 143).
Participants with siblings highlighted the impact of these siblings on their cessation of play with
toys. Interestingly, participants with younger siblings tended to cite an internal process of social
pressure, where they were driven by a personal desire to appear older:
R27: ... you get to an age where if your sisters are playing with them and they are younger, you
don t really want to play the same things as

Adequate To Recognize A Person Essay
A Second is Adequate to Recognize a Person
It is a powerful saying that one s company has a strong impact on one, for it can have a huge
influence on how one thinks, feels, or perhaps behaves. Therefore, it could be inferred that the
culture that one hangs out in becomes one s persona. Along those sixteen years, I have bumped into
many people, many friends, and many influential personalities, thus I can tell for a fact that I have
grasped something from each human being. Only after, I have analyzed them as having a negative
or a positive impact on me. Taking two cousins an example, I have not interacted with them much
due to differences in our geographical location; however, the time we spent together was enough to
determine the aura they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting off with Zahbia, she went to a private school which emphasized education, and laid aside
fashion and social gatherings. Her parents, in particular, cultivated an academic environment at
home, as I have witnessed Zahbia spending consecutive hours studying for an upcoming test,
absolutely ignoring her surroundings. However, I have also witnessed Rimsha spending
consecutive hours getting ready for school or an event, absolutely ignoring her grades. Since
Rimsha attended a coed school, and her friends circle consisted of mostly rich girls, she was
always into getting the best accessories according to the latest fashions. I vividly remember the
time when our extended family was getting ready to attend a reception, and I was specifically
tieing my headscarf, when Rimsha remarked, You are going to wear the headscarf to a wedding as
well? I mean it ruins your beauty...Look at me. At that moment, I was literally speechless not only
because I was told something negative about my appearance, but because Rimsha ,pursuing the
same religion as me, made such an objection. This highlights the extremities between the ambiences
in which Rimsha and Zahbia have grown up. Nevertheless, they both, to this day and very hour,
remain my cousins on the maternal side.
With wholly counter atmospheres and interests, their

What Role Does Cassius Play In The Transformation Of...
Cassius s character, sneaky and conniving, was my least favorite character. His character is
jealous, he is one to despise of another for what they have. His role in the killing of Caesar was
acting as the mastermind behind the plan; he did not carry out the action. Cassius had the ability to
manipulate people into killing Julius Caesar. His motive was to kill Caesar to gain power of his
country.
Cassius felt the need to kill Julius Caesar, reason being, he believed Caesar had been leading
Rome to its downfall. Cassius had also always fell behind Caesar, because of this, his resentment
continued to grow over time. Cassius s hope was, by killing Julius Caesar, he would have enough
power to heroically save Rome. He had a group of followers that

The Link Between The Term Pidgins Essay SOCIOLIANGUISTICS ШЁШіЩ… Ш§Щ„Щ„Щ‡ Ш§Щ„Ш±ШЩ…Щ† Ш§Щ„Ш±ШЩЉЩ… PIDGINS IN SUDIA ARABIA Pidgin could be defined as a language that results from two different people who are not able to speak a each other language so they can interact with and understand each other. This is situation can be a result of different circumstances like war, colonization, slavery and international trade. Some definitions of pidgins although are pidgins have no static definitions : Ferguson (1971) refers to pidgins and creoles as simplified speech used to communicate with people who are considered unable to understand normal speech, such as babies or foreigners. One of the essential points that should be clarified in this context is the link between the term pidgins. This linguistic variety is used in the contact between two speech communities from two different linguistic backgrounds (Al Azraqi 2010; Al Moaily, 2008).Bresnan and Roberts (2008:272) state that pidgins develop as auxiliary languages and thus lack native communities, at least initially . Although the contact is between two languages, the vocabulary of a pidgin comes particularly from one dominant language called the lexifier or superstrate , while the non dominant language is called the substrate (Al Moaily, 2008; Bizri, 2009; Al Azraqi, 2010). Pidgins also do not have a stable grammatical structure and they are usually used specifically among adults for a short period of time (Al Azraqi, 2010). However creoles are classified as more ... • 3. Trojan Women Analysis The Trojan Women was an eye opening escapade for multiple viewers. This play was written by Ellen McLaughlin, directed by Evan Parry, and produced by the College of Charleston s Department of Theatre and Dance. The cruel effects of war on the world is evident; however, most forget about the heartache women behind the scenes experience. McLaughlin wrote a moving script that portrays the struggles these women are forced to face such as prostitution and slavery. Parry displayed an emphasis on the art of dreaming and the anguish of detachment. The Trojan Women was not a play for all types of audiences due to the high level of interpretation required for the viewer. Personally, this play is not one I would see twice. However, the acting, the set design, and the direction tied together interestingly to make this production. Initially, the acting was stellar and amplified to clarify the theme of the play. In the beginning, the chorus of Trojan women laughed, danced, and displayed an unbreakable strong bond between women that could not be broken by the inevitable war. The women s spirits diminished through their actions as the play progressed ultimately showing enslavement to the Greeks. A few roles complimented with unique performers emerged from the rest. Hecuba played by Abriana QuiГ±ones was breathtakingly wonderful in capturing the audience when expressing the heartache of losing Troy. The weeping and restlessness was raw and authentic. • 4. How Does Iago Say That Desdemona Is Evil In Othello Shakespeare s play Othello, focuses on the real tragedies of the play which is the character Othello s willingness to believe Iago s lies but also how Iago plays on Othello s few insecurities. Othello is clearly not to blame for most of the tragedy as the audience sees how crafty Iago is with other characters. He can manipulate Roderigo and Cassio so easily. It takes Iagoan entire act and part of another to convince Othellothat Desdemonais unfaithful. Othello does not fall easily, but he does fall. Othello is a good man. He sees the good in others. Iago is aware of that fact. This brings up more important questions such as: are good people more vulnerable because they are less suspicious than evil ones? Do we tend to judge others as we are ourselves?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To make his plans work, Iago used psychological manipulation on his victims and used their emotional weaknesses to his advantage. Iago s first victim was Roderigo. He manipulated Roderigo by feasting on the emotions and desires he had for Desdemona. Iago made Roderigo believe that he could help him get closer to Desdemona, and Roderigo, being very gullible, believed this. Iago convinced Roderigo to start a fight with Cassio and to even sell his properties so Iago would have enough money to travel to Cyprus. This is seen in I could never better stead thee than now. Put money in thy purse. , Iago said this many times to make Rodrigo believe it. This is proof that Iago s manipulation worked when Roderigo said I ll sell all my land. • 5. Assignment On Steeple And Swot Analysis Part 3: Critically analyse task 6, 7 and 9 from the workbook Task 6 and 7: STEEPLE and SWOT analysis Strategic analysis tools or strategic frameworks are developed to direct organisational tactics and match faculty abilities with market chances so that the faculty can achieve a strategic planning and a unified set of goals including continuing analysis and evaluation (Tomlinson, 2011). Most institutions can adopt one or more strategic frameworks to drive faculty development by providing critical external and internal factors using STEEPLE and SWOT analysis, respectively to formulate the strategy. However, errors and potential limitations of strategic frameworks can occur, if organisations have inabilities of managerial and administrative such as lack of skill and experience to create an effective strategy (Tomlinson, 2011). According to the STEEPLE analysis framework, this framework is used to categorise and determine the factors of macro environment and external influences that may affect the performance of organisations and future activities in both the short and long term (Grant, 2008). STEEPLE is an acronym for social, technological, economic, environmental, political, legal and ethical considerations so a strategic project team needs to analyse and identify the potential impact of these composing factors such as changes, trends and movements in order to maximise efficiency of the organisation (Jones Murray, 2008). Thus creating the information technology protection systems which is used to reduce the possibility of intrusions from occurring. Intrusions occur by uninvited outsiders (sometimes intruders can be internal users like employees) who try to access an organization s information system using the internet with the intent to gain competitive advantage of some sort. Organizations depend on securitytechnology to avoid loss from security breach, as well as to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. However, firewalls are also vulnerable to errors, and implementing a security technology comes with challenges and critical decisions that can possibly cause a financial burden on the organization if done without seriousness and commitment. Information securityis about managing risk, and managing risk is about discovering and measuring threats to information assets; and taking actions to respond to those threats (Al Awadi, Renaud, 2007, p.3). This paper will discuss a few aspects that are involved with firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Firewalls is categorized as a preventive control which is used as a defense shield around IT systems to keep intruders and hacking from occurring, whereas, an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) which is categorized as a detective control is used to detect intrusions that have already occurred (Cavusoglu, Mishra, Raghunathan, 2005). • 7. Offshore Oil Drilling Research Paper Offshore Oil Drilling in United States Waters Oil is one of the most precious substances on Earth. It takes millions of years to form and has many applications throughout the world. Offshore oil drilling in the coastal waters of the United States is a technique used by companies to extract the oil buried deep beneath the ocean floor. Many people refer to the ways that offshore drilling will help the economy, both locally and globally, but despite the apparent benefits, the process is not without controversy. Oilrigs produce wastes which affect marine life and the associated fishing industry, and they pose a danger to the employees who operate them. • 8. How Does Beetle Mass Affect The Beetle s Pulling Power Mackenzie Madden, T.J Manning,September 2nd, 2015 Danny Minogue, Lindsay Newton The Effect of Beetle Mass on the Beetle s Pulling Power Introduction Does beetle mass effect the pulling power? This theory has been tested by conducting an experiment with a bess beetle and some paperclips. Pulling power was calculated by dividing the mass the beetle pulled by the mass of the individual beetle. The data that was collected was processed into a graph that shows how mass affects the pulling power of these beetles. Bess beetles are very interesting creatures with a lot of variety. The Bess beetle population makes up 0.14% of all beetles so it was definitely hard to pick just the right one to test. The hypothesis of this experiment is if the beetle has a large mass, then it will be able to have more pulling power. Materials and Methods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The experiment was then ready to be performed. Paperclips were added to the dish every 5 10 seconds until the beetle could pull it no more. • 9. Eric Foner Give Me Freedom Analysis As Eric Foner said in his Give me Liberty! Whites considered freedom a birthright, so they have always been free. Ironically, however, blacks did not have that right, as they were mistreated and abused both physically and sexually. For that reason, blacks, in this case African Americans, have always had to fight to get the same rights as white Americans, and as the excerpt says, it has not yet ended, since there is still racism and inequality among whites and blacks. Paradoxically, the United Statesof America is known for being the country of freedom, however, freedom is only for whites. For many years, the economy of the United States was based on slavery system. They were bought and sold, constantly passed from one master to another. They were forced to work in really bad conditions and do whatever the chief ordered. Why did whites do this? They considered it a good way to ensure equality between whitesгѓјan equality at the expense of the freedom of others. In addition, whites saw themselves as a superior race, since they thought that blacks were no more than savages. As (give me liberty book) says, the Americans considered their country as a country of free men and Britain a kingdom of slaves (page 289) is ironic because there were areas where nearly half of the population were slaves. ... • 10. The Importance Of Sexuality In Pop Culture The topic of sexuality naturally creates a firestorm for debate. Many in the American public, as well as people worldwide consider the topic of sex and or sexuality to be taboo. The approval of forms of sexual expression that are deemed to be outside of the normal have been slow to gain acceptance in the mainstreamculture. However, the influence of pop culture has begun to change many views on what exactly is normal. The acceptance of different forms of sexuality is in large part due to pop culture. Pop culture has always been a precursor to what are now socially acceptable mainstream norms . Everything from music (rock, rap, metal), movies, reality TV, and tattoos, were all based in pop culture before being every day mainstream normal activities, and sexuality is no different. It seems the more pop culture shuns the restraints on the different ways people experience and express themselves as sexual beings, the more mainstream it has become. One of most telling examples of this is when author J.K Rowling s of Harry Potter fame, announced that the character Albus Dumbledore was gay (Trew). Not only was this met with resounding cheers and elation, the readers wondered, why it took so long to announce it. This certainly would not have been the case in years passed. Apart from straight white male sexuality or sexual expression, any other types of sexual expression were usually not open for discussion. Pop culture has been and continues to be very beneficial in changing that. Movies like Disclosure (1994), where Demi Moore plays as strong sexual anti hero and television shows such as Sex and the City and The L Word where the plots are driven by female sexuality have become more popular than ever. Female sexual expression is at point where women are able express themselves as openly as their male counterparts. This is also true in the LGBT community. While not completely on par with female sexuality, pop culture has helped the LGBT community in making great strides with mainstream acceptance. It was just a mere 20 years ago, when advertisers threatened to pull funding from networks that aired gay content. Now the subject seems inescapable (Jacobs 5 8). Many aspects play a role in the treatment and rehabilitation of this injury. This paper will discuss the anatomy of the knee, describe a torn ACL, and the rehabilitation. The knee is a hinge joint which gives the legs mobility. The muscles and ligaments of this joint allows flexion and extension of the leg. Because the knee supports the majority of the body weight, it is at risk of overuse and traumatic injuries (France). The knee is composed of 3 major bones; the femur, tibia, and the fibula. The femur is the biggest bone in the human body, the inferior end flares out into two rounded landmarks called femoral condyles. Their name comes from the side of the body they are on, which is where we get Lateral Femoral Condyle and Media Femoral Condyle. Superiorly to these condlyes are the medial and lateral femoral epicondyles. The bones inferior to the femur are the Tibia and Fibula. The superior end of the Tibia flares out into slightly concave structures called the Tibial Plateaus. A crescent wedge shape of cartilage sits in each plateau. These are the Medial Meniscus and the Lateral Meniscus. This cartilage acts as a shock absorber and distributes forces. The menisci are bathed by the synovial fluid of the knee (France). • 17. The Law Regarding Non Compete Agreements Essay Courts in Texas continue to struggle with the law regarding non compete agreements, as a recent decision by the Dallas Court of Appeals indicates. That opinion adds to the trouble Texas employers may face when they seek to protect their business interests through enforcement of existing non compete agreements with at will employees. A fundamental requirement for enforceability of a non compete agreement in Texas is that the agreement must be ancillary to or part of an otherwise enforceable agreement at the time the agreement is made. Tex. Bus. Com. Code §§ 15.50. If the only other agreement with the employee is the at will employment relationship, the covenant not to compete is not enforceable. Notwithstanding a reference in the statute to at will employment relationships, the Texas Supreme Court has held that an employment at will relationship, without more, does not constitute an otherwise enforceable agreement. Light v. Centel Cellular Co., 883 S.W.2d 642 (Tex. 1994). Employers often argue that a covenant not to compete can be ancillary to an agreement not to disclose confidential information. The court in the Light decision cited such an agreement, given in exchange for the employer actually providing the information, as an example of an otherwise enforceable agreement. However, since then, several cases have raised concerns about how the courts will construe these types of agreements in the future. First, the agreement must contain a promise to actually ... This is mirrored across the capitalist world, but is perhaps most evident in the United States where the reduction in the flow of federal redistributions and local tax revenues after 1972 led to this revival in civic boosterism and entrepreneurialism (Harvey, 1989). It certainly has far reaching consequences in that future growth prospects may all be about playing the capitalist game , the paving to a zero sum development. To that, Harvey asserted that urban entrepreneurialism (1) is based on public private partnership so that local boosterism attracts external sources of funding, direct investments, and employment sources, (2) is speculative in general and thus compounded with risks and difficulties that are absorbed by the local public sector, and (3) places emphasis on political economy rather than economic projects that improve living and working conditions. The extension is a prime example of this because it was intended to bring business and entertainment to the Hudson Yards neighborhood, and it did many businesses in the area have seen increased profits since the project s construction leading to a development boom in its vicinity. Many genius authors have admired women s physical beauty according to their imaginations. However, their literary works, the male dominated society and the female community have also served as accomplices in creating notion about the beauty of women. In our society, it is believed that a woman should have fair skin, hourglass figure and long hair to attain the title of a beautiful woman . This notion has degraded the stature of the entire female community instead of elevating it. The revolutionary poet, Maya Angelou, tried to break this notion by writing a poem to give tribute to an average looking woman who can become trendsetter and leader in her field of interest despite of not having fair skin and the hourglass figure. In the poem Phenomenal Woman , the author urges women to be proud of them and their gender and to celebrate the womanhood instead of being ashamed of it. Maya Angelou has been regarded as an acclaimed poet whose literary works focus on her real life experiences (1). Phenomenal Woman falls into the category of poems based on the real life experiences and the human truth. By the end of the 18th century, many Metis people had begun to congregate around the trading posts at Red River .
