Essay On Multiculturalism
Crafting an essay on the subject of multiculturalism presents both intellectual challenges and
nuanced considerations. The complexity arises from the vast and dynamic nature of
multiculturalism itself. As a writer, you must navigate through the intricate web of diverse
cultures, traditions, and perspectives that characterize multicultural societies. This requires a deep
understanding of the historical, social, and political dimensions of multiculturalism.
One of the difficulties lies in striking the right balance between celebrating cultural diversity and
addressing the potential challenges that may arise. Multiculturalism isn't a one-size-fits-all
concept; it manifests differently in various regions and societies. Therefore, conducting thorough
research to grasp the unique manifestations and impacts of multiculturalism in specific contexts
is essential.
Furthermore, crafting an essay on multiculturalism necessitates an exploration of the benefits and
drawbacks of such diversity. It requires the writer to critically analyze how multicultural policies
and practices influence social cohesion, equality, and identity. This analytical depth demands a
keen eye for detail and an ability to synthesize information from various academic disciplines.
Moreover, expressing these complex ideas in a coherent and engaging manner poses its own set
of challenges. A well-structured essay on multiculturalism should seamlessly integrate historical
context, theoretical frameworks, and contemporary examples. This demands not only a high level
of writing proficiency but also a capacity for synthesizing diverse information into a cohesive
narrative.
Addressing the potential biases and stereotypes associated with multiculturalism adds another
layer of complexity. A successful essay should avoid perpetuating stereotypes while still
acknowledging the challenges that can emerge within multicultural societies.
In conclusion, writing an essay on multiculturalism is a demanding task that requires a
combination of research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Navigating
through the intricate tapestry of cultures and addressing the multifaceted aspects of
multiculturalism demands intellectual rigor. However, it is precisely this complexity that makes
the exploration of multiculturalism intellectually stimulating and socially relevant.

Kami-No-Michi Religion
Shintoism, also known as kami no michi (or way of gods ) is an ancient Japanese
religion, which started at about 1000 BCE. This religious tradition is devoted to the
worship of spiritual beings and powers, called kami, as well as providing emphasis
towards life in this world and the righteousness of man. Ancient authoritative records
of great significance, such as the Kojiki and the Nihongi, are based on the Shinto
religion.
According to the Kojiki, the kami were responsible for the creation of the world.
Izanagi no mikoto, the male who invites , and Izanami no mikoto, the female who
invites , created other kami such as Amaterasu (the Sun Goddess), Tsuki yomi (The
Moon God), Susano o (The Storm God), and the Eight Great Islands of Japan.

The kami also includes the spiritual beings which inhabit living things as well as the
ancestors of individuals of nobility and honour. The kami was considered to be within
everything, but only those which are deemed strikingly wondrous were entitled to the
name. These deities are considered to be of imminent nature as they dwell within
human beings, with whom they are characterised as having a close relationship with.
In fact, Shintoism regards humanity as children of kami; hence, human beings are
considered to be of sacred and divine nature.
Morality provides emphasis towards the common good of men as well as upholding
significant ethical values, which must be fostered and cultivated in order to grasp
one s full potential magokoro; thus, the failure of complying to such ethical principles

The Threat Of Stolen Credit Cards From Five Hackers
Main Facts of the Case This case is a cyber hacker crime case that is a result of
stolen credit cards from five hackers. There were several more involved in the act,
but the five, located in the Ukraine and Russian area were the main perpetrators.
The approximate amount of credit that was stolen was $300 million from various
companies. The major companies include NASDAQ OMX Group Inc., Visa Inc.,
Dow Jones Inc., J.C. Penney Co, JetBlue Airways Corp and Carrefour SA (Post,
2013). The companies and the hackers involved were all a part of the same
incidence. In the case, the hackers used firms secured information of financial
transaction at the point of sale to copy fake card information for their own use. They
would be able to make large purchases using the data on the cards. The only
information the hackers would need is the technology to gain access to the firms
information system, card numbers, and a method copy the cards. Fraud Opportunity

discovered and possibly prevented for future attempts to steal sensitive information.
In the case of the cyber attack that cause the large amount of loss can be reviewed and

Schuurvy Research Paper
Scurvy is a nutritional disease that stems from a lack of Vitamin C. I chose this as
my topic because I have always been interested in history and how historically on
ships it was difficult to have fresh fruit aboard because they would spoil on long
trips and instead they would have meats and foods that could be preserved with
heavy amounts of salt. Scurvy was first documented as a disease by Hippocrates and
was discovered by ancient Egyptians in 1550 but people would often forget eating
Vitamin Cis an effective cure for the disease. In the 13th century people often suffered
from Scurvy. Eventually the explorers wizened up to this and the Portuguese planted
fruit trees and vegetables that they could harvest on their way home from journeys
Essay On Romanticism
Introduction
Because we did not do the presentation for The Cultural Dimension of Europe, we
now made a make up assignment. In this make up assignment we made a discussion
paper over romanticism as a way of looking at the world. First we have an
introduction about romanticism and then we have four debating points to discuss.
Firstly does history repeat itself, focusing at the reaction of romanticism on events in
the 18th century to the reaction of romanticism on events nowadays? Secondly is a
green world a good world? Thirdly if you are religious, are you a romanticist? And
fourthly are politics and the economy created by rationalization?
Body
First an introduction about, romanticism. Romanticism started about 200 years ago.
This was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But why was nature so important for romanticists? Romanticism and nature are
connected because the artists and philosophers of the romantic period emphasized the
glory and beauty of nature, and the power of the natural world. Some scholars of
romanticism believe that the romanticists treated nature in an almost religious way.
Reasons for the development of this strong connection between nature and
romanticism include the Industrial Revolution, which led many people to leave rural
areas and live in cities, separated from the natural world. In addition, during the 18th
and 19th centuries when romanticism was popular, large areas of European and
North American wilderness had been tamed, so that it had become generally much
safer for people to travel into these areas and observe their natural wonders. The
connection between romanticism and nature may have also risen in part as a
backlash against the scientific emphasis of enlightenment philosophy, and against the
cultural norms of that period.
Many romanticist artists, writers, and philosophers believe in the natural world as a
source of healthy emotions and ideas. By contrast, the emerging urban, industrialized
world was often portrayed as a source of unhealthy emotions, morals, and thoughts.
Romanticists such as Henry David Thoreau believed that humans were meant to live
in the world of nature, rather than the urban world. The connection between
Romanticism and nature was largely formed with this core concept that man s true
self can be found in the wilderness, rather than in the
Significances Of Total Solar Eclipses
A Total Solar Eclipse occurs when the visible portion of our Moon covers the visible
portion of our sun, causing it to seem like a white ring with a black center, causing
an extremely unique view of our sun and Moon. The Total Solar Eclipse can only be
seen from a few points in the world, in the umbral shadow. Most people in the world
will only see a partial Solar Eclipse, where the Moonwill only cover a portion of the
sun, due to the fact that they re in the penumbral. While not as unique, it s still a
rare sight to behold. The reason Solar Eclipses are so rare to begin with is due to
the special coincidence of the Moon and sun being the same size to our eyes. While
our sun is 400 times the size of our Moon, our sun is also 400 times farther away,
causing them to appear the same size in our sky.
As previously stated, you can only see a Total Solar Eclipse from an umbral shadow,
which is the darkest part of the shadow cast on the Earth. This only happens when the
Moon Totally covers the sun, but this is not the only factor. The Moon also has to
be close to, or at the point of perigee, the point of the Moon s orbit closest to Earth.
The penumbral shadow is only visible when the Moon only partly obscures the Sun
s disk, causing a partial Solar Eclipse, but there are still more. There s the Annular
Solar Eclipse, which is similar to a Total Solar Eclipse, but the Moon is too small
to completely cover the sun, and the Sun s outer edges remain visible to form a
ring of fire in the sky. This can only happen when the Moon is near to, or at the
point of apogee, the point of the Moon s orbit farthest from Earth, and can only be
seen from the Moon s antumbra. The last type of eclipse, Hybrid Solar Eclipses,
also known as annular Total eclipses, are the rarest type. This only occurs when a
Solar Eclipse changes between a Total Solar Eclipse and an Annular Solar Eclipse
along it s path.
According to the article What Are Solar Eclipses? on the website timeanddate.com
/eclipse/solar eclipse.html For a solar eclipse to take place, the Sun, the Moon, and
Earth must be aligned in a perfect or near perfect straight line an alignment
astronomers call syzygy. This happens around New Moon every lunar month. There

My Mom Shehnaz Soni Is An Everyday Hero
People normally characterize heroes as someone with supernatural abilities like
superman, but a hero can be anyone. A hero can be an average person doing
something good like picking up someone s wallet when you have dropped it.
Another example would be someone who fights crime and fights fire. These
everyday unsung heroes generally do these things because they have good
intentions, even if it is for little reward or fame. I have a close familymember who
bears the qualities needed to be an everyday unsung hero. My Mom Shehnaz Soni
is an everyday, unsung hero because she has given me and my younger brothers love
and care for our basic needs and she has also persevered in overcoming two divorces.
Shehnaz Soni is petite and beautiful; she is about 5 feet and 3 inches and has a
smile that offers love and compassion. She is the light at the end of the tunnel and
offers kindness and helps her family and friends. She comes from a middle class
family from Karachi, Pakistan; her parents maintained the family because her dad
was a photographer and loved taking pictures, and he also managed shops. Although
both parents were raised in Karachi, her dad was born in India before the
independence from Pakistan. He eventually moved to Karachi after the independence.
When he was older he eventually met my grandmother and had an arranged marriage.
Together they had three children whom they raised. Today, my grandparents are still
living in Karachi with my uncle who takes care of them. Their

Marlene Bird Case Studies
Marlene Bird Case The case of Marlene Bird was a brutal attack and sexual assault
by a Leslie Black in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan (The Canadian Press, August
2017). In July of 2014, a homeless Marlene Bird was attacked, assaulted, and set on
fire in downtown Prince Albert, Sask.; although she survived the attack, later in
hospital doctors had to amputate both her legs (McCue, 2017). According to James
(2015) After months of recovery and numerous surgeries, Marlene came out alive
but missing both her legs and the vision in her left eye. In April of 2015, Leslie

from Marlene s body because her attackers raped her and when they arrested Leslie
in connection with the incident they got a sample of his DNA and sent it away for

that Leslie was there at the time of the attack (James, 2014). Once they arrested and
charged Leslie with the sexual assault and attempted murder police then executed

Leslie pleading guilty to the offence, there were also people who saw her walking

Essay about The Aesthetics of Pop Music
It All Sounds The Same These Days!
In just about every home in America at just about any given time the words: It all
sounds the same these days! is uttered to a teenage child, while the mother is
screaming Turn it down! in the background. The teenager storms to his bedroom and
turns the radio up to full volume and thinks, They just don t get it! Then proceeds to
dance around the room singing into the hairbrush. This is the pleasure principal of
pop music. Whether accredited to innocence or ignorance, a unreconciled naivety has
survived this culture since its inception. They re everywhere. We cannot escape the
wrath of teen pop bands, you can love em or hate em, but they are a representation of
an ever changing culture. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Attributing to another frequently heard phrase I don t even like that song and I know
all the words!
How can the aesthetics of pop music be measured? From person to person tastes in
music differ greatly and the effect that music has on ones self can be very abstract,
so how can the aesthetics of a classification of music, pop, that is: simple,
predictable and repetitious be measured? The most obvious way to measure
aesthetics would be personal opinion, then scaled to public opinion and in turn,
economic market value. One s personal opinion, although often times thought to be
objective when one is defending a favorite song it is difficult to measure an exact
aesthetic value of a song. Why is it that so many cringe at the mere mention of the
Spice Girls or Britney Spears? If pop music is a reflection of current culture, and is
taken as just pure enjoyment and fun, meaningless lyrics and feel good music, any
scientific or musically theoretical measurements should be dismissed. Onelike?
would be more successful embracing the lightheartedness of the song and, in turn,
embracing the emotions that it provokes. During the short lived career of the Spice
Girls there was a influx of Girl Power! Giving belief, self esteem and ambition into

Benjamin Bach Biography
Arlyne Covarrubias Johann Sebastian Bach, as the world has come to know was a
remarkable person. Terry states Bach s birth as March 21, 1685 the youngest child
from his family born in the baroque era (20). He came from a lineage where many
of his relatives were musicians. His father, Johann Ambrosius Bach was a town s
musician and it is suspected that he is the person whom thought Bach the arts of
playing the violin. Bach s family was of the higher class with good morals and good
family traditions. Growing up in a family who very much enjoyed music, gatherings
took place annually so that the family could enjoy music festivities together.
According to, Terry, Bach s home was broken up by his father s death and he was

His desire and need to put his skills to work later gave him the opportunity to work
for the household of Duke Johann Ernst where he served the younger, music loving
prince, who maintained a small chamber orchestra this job gave Bach the
opportunity that he needed to start his career (Terry 56). Bach had great success in
later years of his life. It is a fact that few of Sebastian Bach work was printed even in
his lifetime. Geck states that among the handwritten surviving works is Clavier
Гњbung the longest and most significant work published in 1726 and 1742 (23).
This is a piece of his work that was not even printed but just handwritten. In Bach s
success we have the privilege of having six sonatas, and partitas for solo violin and
six cellos suites all written in the handwriting of his first wife Anna Magdalena
Bach (Geck 23). His magical world consisted of many works that he perform for
different kinds of events. There is evidence recorded stated by Wolf in the book
The World of The Bach Cantatas that he worked from weddings to council
elections to even funerals and more (9). In recorded history there is about 1,000 of
Bach s compositions something that is incredible for such a remarkable man
(Wolff 45). From fugues that were more of private matters to for example, his
famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor BWV 565 works. To this day are played in
scary movies, ballets, dance routines, theater routines, videos and enjoyed by
anyone with an exquisite music taste. Kupferberg mentions in his book, Basically
Bach A 300th birthday celebration, that there was a production of about 300
church cantatas during his 27 years in Leipzig (81). To conclude, Bach s death
came on July 28, 1750 being married and remarried and having a total of 20
children with two women Bach left behind a splendid legacy for not just his family
to be proud of but also for the enjoyment of
Pierre Elliot Trudeau s War Measures Act
Just watch me are the defiant words uttered by Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Elliot
Trudeau in response to the Front de liberation du Quebec (FLQ), a Marxist group
captaining Quebec independence through indiscriminate political violence. His words
are not those of an iron fisted strongman, despite how strong and undetailed his
comments were at the time, but those of a calculated and well versed leader, whose
decisions came at the behest of prominent Quebecpoliticians. The FLQ instilled a
decade of social violence in the streets of Quebec by systemically championing the
struggles of French minorities who perceived unjust treatment in everyday life. Their
qualms quickly evolved from protest to a Marxist movement, which incorporated

LaPorte was later killed in the first assassination since Thomas d Arcy McGee and
Cross s life was traded for immunity for some FLQ members. These actions set off
the only implementation of the act in non wartime eras, reinforcing the limits of
justice and political process. LaPorte was not an enemy of the group, rather a
Quebec minister of labour. Upon his death, it was stated, LaPorte was killed and
left in the drunk of an abandoned car. In addition to the murder of LaPorte, the
FLQ s actions were responsible for the deaths of seven people (Gurr, Ross, 1989).
The murder of an elected diplomat, in execution style displayed the absolute,
unwavering need for Trudeau to rule with absolute power. The FLQ had grown
powerful enough to kill elected politicians and Trudeau needed to send a military
message that there would not be a violation of Canadian ideals. The military stance
was an effective message and provided necessary backup to police forces to deal
with the threat of selective assassination. This response was as moral as it was
military, and enforced confidence in both Canada s military, but also Trudeau. His
actions could dismantle and scatter the youth of the FLQ, and brought
The Indian Ideology By Perry Anderson
Book Review The Indian Ideology by Perry Anderson is a collection of three essays
originally published in the London Review of Books. As the title suggests, The
Indian Ideology through critical engagement delves deep into the set of ideas (or
nationalist discourse) that shape the Indian nation democracy, multicultural unity and
secularity and deals with conditions and events that generated them, and which they
both reflect and distort (p.2). For Anderson the idea of
India as one in its civilizational aspects of evolution and inherent unity is contested by
the fact that subcontinent as we know it today never formed a single political or
cultural unit in premodern times (p.10). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
More to it,
Anderson squarely holds Gandhi and Nehru responsible for the ills and wrongs
that have followed during the trajectory of the Indian state after partition. The
three essays in the book thus deal with these pertinent issues. The first of these

and humanity M K Gandhi. M.K. Gandhi was an able political leader, a first class

Hydrate Research Paper
There is a never ending search for an effective source of energy that is both efficient
and the safest option to use. Scientists located in japan may have found a solution to
this dilemma as they were recently able to locate methane clathrate, more commonly
known as fire ice. Despite the name existing as an oxymoron, many believe this
hydrate could prove to be the savior for the earth s fuel problems. However, given
current research this supposedly useful source of natural gascould prove even more
detrimental towards the environment than carbon dioxide. What must first be noted is
that methane clathrate is a solid hydrate compound. A hydrate is typically a
crystalline compound in which water molecules are chemically bound to another
element.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Increase in temperature or a drop in pressure would cause it to dissociate rapidly,
causing the ice to melt allowing the release gas, which would cause problems not
only towards global warming, but also their solid existence makes them a source of
support. With the release of gas the support would be lost and cause landslides that
would severely damage the production equipment and existing pipelines. Not only
that, but melting a single cubic meter block of this ice would release 160 cubic
meters of harmful methane, which is much worse than carbon dioxide ( Methane
Hydrate , 2014). Any form of retrieval technology used must be careful to capture
all the gas, especially those found in the Arctic, because if that reserve is lost, it
would continually discharge gas for an unknown amount of time, and as noted
before any release of gas proves to be extremely detrimental (Niiler, 2013).
However , not all hope is lost the dissociation of hydrates is endothermic, it uses,
rather than releases, so when the gas is produced the sediments would begin to
cool, allowing for the slowing or stopping of the dissociation which keeps the idea of
using this as a very real
Taliesin And Merlin
Merlin, the wizard with a giant pointy hat on his head, doing magical acts to please
the crowd. That is what Merlin has become today, a shadow of his meaning in the
Arthurian legends. Another misconception of the stories are the stories of Taliesin
and Merlin. Most confuse either or some mix both and make them into one. The
beginnings or Merlin are confusing and muddled within the stories. While Taliesin
has a set story similar to that of Moses in the Bible. Merlin appears in history under
many hats, none of which include the giant blue pointy hat with stars that we all
know today. He is known and seen as a great wizard/sorcerer, prophet, bard

Merlin prophesies Arthur s life before he even is born and even contributes to the
birth of Arthur. Merlin s main role in the story is to guide Arthur into being king of
Camelot. At this point, many say that Arthur does not have a life of his own since
everything has been set for him and is being manipulated by Merlin. Though
Merlin meddles with Arthur a lot, it is never known to Arthur that he is meant to
be a king until he decides for himself and pulls Excalibur from the stone. Merlin
directly led to the birth of Arthur by disguising his father, Uther, as Gorlois the
husband of Igraine and allowed Uther to inseminate Igraine and have Arthur. Some
stories even say he was Arthur s tutor and that he started the legend that whoever
pulls the Excalibur from the stone will be the right and truthful heir to the throne.
At the same time, he also persuaded the Lady of the Lake to present Excalibur, the
real one, to Arthur. Although some stories say that Merlin died before Arthur s
birth, most of the main legends show that Merlin was trapped by dark magic.
Some legends say that Merlin fell in love with the Lady of the Lake and taught her
everything and after she supposedly grew stronger than Merlin, she trapped him in a
tower and that explains some of his disappearances in stories. Other accounts say
that he also guided Perceval, foretold the greatness of Lancelot and Tristan, but failed
to guide Sir Balin in his

which is the woman. Participant A s role is to trick the interrogator into making the
wrong decision, while participant B attempts to assist the interrogator in making the

Evidence Asimov Analysis
Robots coexisting in the human world can be beneficial to many people s lives by
allowing tasks to be performed at a much faster rate. By Google definition robots
are machines capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically,
especially one programmable by a computer; (especially in Science Fiction) a
machine resembling a human being and able to replicate certain human movements
and functions automatically. Many people think of robots as metal machines that
come in various shapes and sizes; not machines that look and act in such ways like
a human. Robots and other alike machines are widely used across the globe. In
factories, schools, homes, hospitals... Whilst technology grows, the need for these
complex machines becomes much greater. These machines are able to perform tasks
at a much greater speed, accuracy, and complexity compared to manual labor. In
Asimov s short story Evidence, a man by the name of Stephen Byerley was in a
horrific accident that should have resulted in his death. When Stephen runs for
mayor, Frances Quinn, his runner up, claims that the real Stephen Byerley, rather
than having recovered, was permanently disfigured and crippled by the accident, and
the Byerley who appears in the public is a humanoid robot, created by Stephen

I do not believe that the short story, Evidence, is accurate in its depiction of society
s treatment of robots. In the research we have seen thus far, the acceptance of
robots in today s society is almost unknown due to the fact that many people do not
realize they amount of robotics that they already use in their daily lives. Robots are a
very beneficial thing, and I do not believe that we need a set of laws like Asimov s to
govern the behavior of robots as they become more advanced... Robots can be people
The Scarlet Letter Archetypes
Archetypes in The Scarlet Letter
Archetypes are symbols of the basic human motives. There are many different
archetypes with their own set of values, traits, and emotions. The literary criticism,
mythological, looks at the analysis of the monomyth; which explains how all stories
are just different variations of each other. Archetypes explain how the characters,
symbols, or places in the stories we read are just variations of the monomyth.
Characters in The Scarlet Letter represented the universal archetypes. The character

Comparing Tcdb And Toxin
Toxin B and Toxin A belong to the same family of large clostridial glycosylating
toxins that are responsibility for inflammatory responses. TcdB is primarily known
as the cytotoxin and is the most common encoded toxin. The difference in TcdB and
TcdA could stem for the differences in where each toxin receptor tropism (3). In four
different studies using hamster and mouse intestines, TcdB is capable of producing
phenotypes of disease in complete absence of TcdA (1). TcdB has two protein
receptors that are able to bind outside of the CROPS domain. These proteins include
poliovirus receptor like protein 3 and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan 4 that are
found on colon epithelial cells of humans. Both receptors could be responsible for the

The Seven Years War
With the Seven Years War (French and Indian War) complete, the British thought they
would be at peace. The common thought was to prosper from the colonies by making
them pay certain taxes based on products they imported or even exported. The
American colonists and British policymakers were having major disagreements in the
period of 1763 1776. The taxed colonists were resenting the British Parliament and
started small protests in the area. The common disagreements were over the levied
taxes, which started with the sugar, currency and stamp act, followed by the
Townshend Duties and then the Tea Act which tipped the scales making most despise
the British Parliament s actions. This turned some of the colonists against the British

They began to boycott, some by not using the tea imported from the East India Tea
Company and others by using other items to make tea. Women even began making
leaflets and participated in anti British activities. The colonists even went as far as
not allowing ships to enter or leave ports with imports of specific items that would
be taxed. This finally led to the Boston Tea Partyin 1773. A few dozen colonists
dressed as Native Americans, and protected by some other colonists, boarded ships
in Boston Harbor and began throwing barrels of tea overboard in protest to the
taxes. After this, the port of Boston was closed by Parliament. The news made it to
other colonies up and down the eastern seaboard and the colonists started to respond.
There was a tension in the air that was unmatched, and the colonists were preparing
to fight. The British believed they had the upper hand, although many of the so
called governors were not in the colonies to prepare themselves for what was to
Compare And Contrast Pericles And Alcibiades
The Peloponnesian war lasted from 431 to 404 B.C. and was profoundly influenced
by two Athenian men, Pericles and Alcibiades. Though Pericles and Alcibiades were
related by blood they were quite different. Pericles was a diplomat, he approached
matters with a level head and tried to find a solution that did not end in bloodshed.
Alcibiades was less stable, he either fought, manipulated, or ran when confronted with
a problem. Both men spoke eloquently enough to move almost the entire city of
Athens, using their words to bend people to their will. What was different between
them was what their will was, one cared about the city and its wellbeing, the other
cared about his own wellbeing.
Pericles and Alcibiades were both students of ... Show more content on

In his ambitions to conquer Sicily and then move on to Italy and the Peloponnesus,
he also shows this thirst.12 The Athenians recognized Alcibiades s brilliance and
ruthlessness so they elected Nicias as a general to [temper] his rashness. 13
Alcibiades resorted to violence to gain glory, Pericles, on the other hand, attempted
to prolong peace and settle matters with diplomacy. He once tried to persuade the
cities to send delegates to meet in Athens to discuss restorations of temples
destroyed during the war with Persia, but nothing came of his plan because of
Spartan opposition.14 He even went so far as to bribe the chief magistrates of
Sparta to buy time to prepare for war, which he knew was inevitable.15
In his funeral oration, Pericles praises Athens and the city s focus on balance
between personal care and care for the state. He compared it to Sparta, where
personal comfort was overlooked to benefit the state and said that the personal
comfort allowed to Athenians is what makes the war worth fighting.16 By praising
Athens, he showed his love and loyalty to his city. Alcibiades had no such loyalty.
When he fled to Sparta he was asked if he did not trust his country, his answer was
with everything other than his life.17 When in Sparta he gave military advice that
caused more ruin and destruction to his city than anything else.18 After
Theme Of All My Sons By Joe Keller
There is nothing ruthless about Joe, no hint of the robber baron in his make up , his
ambitions are small a comfortable home for his family, a successful business to pass
on to his sons, but he is not completely fastidious in achieving his goals.
Joe Keller is the most important character in the play, All My Sons.
Miller who wrote All My Sons with human understanding but moral sinew as well as
dramaturgy summarised his theme, John Gossner says as, the responsibility of man to
society or the responsibility to the world and outside his home as well as in his own
home .
Joe Keller is a social, amiable man with a strong sense of humour.

Bathroom Revolutionaries Summary
In this week reading, Calling All Restroom Revolutionaries , by Simone Chess,
Alison Kafer, Jessi Quizar, and Mattie Udora Richardson they expressed three main
points throughout the article. The first main point in this article is that bathrooms
are easier to access for some of us than for others. This is an issue that some people
don t know about or don t even think is a problem. Recently this has been a hotbed
topic, within the media but I have been aware of this problem for sometime now.
Many of my close friends have expressed their concerns about the bathroomsituation
well before this became a newsworthy topic. In addition, this topic has always
bothered me because it is a bathroom and people mostly use the bathroom for two
purposes.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I like the way the authors went about explaining the problem and the examples that
were given throughout the article. I also thought it was useful to show that multiple
groups can come together for a common cause even with their different visions. I
never thought about the fact that individuals that are wheelchair bound can not reach
the tampon dispensers within the bathrooms. Also, I never noticed that with the
gender neutral bathrooms that there are not tampons/pad dispensers which is very
peculiar to me because they should be in there. Those are two aspects of this
informative reading that I did not even slightly think about before this article. I am
unsure about what actions to take on this article because I feel like there should be
access to tampons and pads within the gender neutral bathrooms but unsure on how to
start that process. I know that it took awhile to even have gender neutral bathroom on
campus so I am unsure on how to start raising awareness of this issue. I will begin to
start using the gender neutral bathroom to reduce the stigma that is attached to this
bathroom to make it a more normalized
My First Day Of Dance
Normally I would be bouncing off the walls waiting for my mom to unlock the car
doors. But not that day. That day was different. That day I was climbing through the
back seats begging not to get out of the car.
It was my first day of dance class at The Beat Dance Company and I was terrified. I m
not going to make any friends, nobody is going to like me, the teacher is going to be
mean. I was standing in the hallway of my new dance studio crying to my mom that I
did not want to go in when the teacher came out to get us. The teacher was towering
over me like she was a skyscraper and I was an ant. She had very straight red hair and
her face was covered in freckles. She was wearing a bright purple leotard with a black
skirt. My mom walked me ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So we all listened and stood up and I went to the back corner. Payton followed me as
the teacher told us to spread apart.
Okay so the first thing we are going to do today is get a little warmed up and then
probably do a little bit of stretching, the teacher told us.
The teacher started to do jumping jacks and so did all the other girls so I joined in.
Payton started asking me questions just to try to get to know me. In the dance
studio two walls were longer than the other two. On one of the long walls are all of
the mirrors and on the other one is a window (so that the parents can watch) and the
door is also on that wall. Little did Payton and I know that our parents were talking
too. They saw how much we were talking and decided to get each others numbers.
Meanwhile, the teacher had told us to now move to one side of the wall and that
we were going to do across the floor. Payton and I stood at the back of the first line
and talked until it was our turn to go across. All of the sudden the music stopped
and all I heard the teacher yelled was, Come on ladies. You have to know when it is
your turn to go. The teacher was referring to me and Payton. I turned to Payton and
we couldn t help but laugh.
What s so funny girls, the teacher didn t seem very happy.
Nothing, Payton said franticly.
It won t happen again right? the teacher asked us.
No ma am, Payton and I joked.

The future may be uncertain that injects fear into the minds of some people. When it
comes to me, I learn to interpret that the very uncertainty of the future is full of

The Reality Of Time And Space
It is paradoxical to have a course, which revolves round the corrosiveness of faulted
Western notions of time and its depiction through abstraction, identify itself with an
abstract title but argue for the concreteness and tangibility of the portrayal of time
and space. A Place Beyond Time does just that. Containing a vastly abstract title, A
Place Beyond Timemay at first glance appear to properly relate time as a tangent
notion with space. Upon further contemplation, however, it becomes patent that A
Place Beyond Time possesses a conspicuous absence present in its philosophy of
aloofness from intangibility. And although the name of the course attempts to tackle
and manifest the complications of abstract and concrete time, it is through its lack
of definition and precision, lack of possession, and lack of sensation of repetition
that A Place Beyond Time fails to properly capitalize on this dilemma. In scrutiny, A
in A Place Beyond Time appears to breed the idea of time in any place any where,
albeit inaccurate. Which place? True, however, that the use of A allows for intrigue
and mystery. In any other circumstance, other than specificity, the use of A is better.
Perhaps, through the use of a, the title indeed attempts to capture suspense and
mystery to represent the obscure connections of space and time in the abstract. That
of which it effectively executes. The course title, nevertheless, does not zero in on
specificity and detachment from generic description. The
The Parable Of The Kingdom Of God
We live in a world of pain and sorrow. We suffer every day from the sin of the
world, but there is hope in this hopeless world. The Kingdom of God is our hope
and our happiness. Describe. The Kingdom of God is here and it is coming. It is
within you and always there. The Kingdom of God is coming but only through Jesus
Christ. In Matthew 13 there are different parables that explain the Kingdom of God
through an ordinary story. In the parable of the Sower and the Seed, it paints a
picture about how not all will receive the Kingdom of God. The parable of the
weeds shows that good and evilcoexist in the Kingdom of God. In the parable of the
mustard seed, it talks about how the Kingdom of God is still growing and will
continue growing. In the parable of the fishnet, it explains that in the end the good
will make it to the Kingdom of God, but those who are bad or evil will be thrown
away. The Kingdom of God is many things. In our lifetime, we seem to get
glimpses of the Kingdom of God in the things that we do. These glimpses are
described as fully alive moments. Every fully alive moment is different for every
person. One of those moments could be praising God in song in church or in chapel.
That moment you are seeing and you feel the Holy Spiritis there and it makes you feel
so warm and fuzzy inside. Other moments are, mission trips or YU trips when we
see the power of God in what we do for that week. These little glimpses of the

Literature Review On Resilience
CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW INTRODUCTION This chapter will
provide an overview of resilience and the factors that affect it will be discussed.
The literature review will address parental rearing behaviour, social support as well
as religious faith in relation to resilience. Joseph (1994) defines resilience as the glue
that keeps individuals functioning when they are confronted with misfortunes and
challenges. It is also the attitudes, coping behaviour and personal strength in people
who manage adversity and adjust well to changes in their lives, as well as the ability
to bounce back from bad or difficult situations. Resilience is understood as a force or
power, coping mechanisms, and other personal traits that keep individuals going
when they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such labels implied that these individuals were in possession of a rare and
significant set of qualities that enabled them to rebound from whatever adversity
came their direction, almost as if these fortunate individuals possessed a sort of
innate magical force that protected them form all harm (Santos, nd) Implicit in the
concept of resilience as a dynamic process is the understanding that resilience can
grow or decline over time depending on the interactions taking place between an
individual and their environment and between risk and protective factors in an
individual s life (Borman Rachuba, 2001). The process of resilience is dependent on
the factors in a person s environment and other factors in their life. These concepts
will be discussed in detail in the following paragraphs. Current theories view
resilience as a multidimensional construct, which includes constitutional variables
like temperament and personality, in addition to specific skills such as active
problem solving skills that allow individuals to cope well with traumatic life
A Comparison of the Decline of Han China and the Roman
Empire
A Comparison of the Decline of Han China and the Roman Empire The decline of
China and Rome both shared similar economic strife in that they were both subject
to barbarian and nomadic invasions, therefore having to spend large amounts of
money on frontier defense; however, they differed in that the Han Empire
collapsed in part due to the high taxes imposed on the peasant class resulting in a
large peasant rebellion, such as the Yellow Turbans, while in Rome tax collections
was in danger of abandonment as residents of the empire were few in number and in
financial difficulty. In addition, the two empires were similar socially because of
large epidemics, diseases, and plagues that caused a population decrease. Also, both

The Han Empire chose to overtax the overwhelmingly large peasant class which
instigated an enormous peasant rebellion led by the Yellow Turbans, a Daoist
religious sect who opposed the over taxation of peasantry and attempted to form a
Golden Age . In the Roman Empire, taxation slowly became a thing of the past, as the
Romans decreasing population failed to pay taxes at all during hard times. As the
Roman population decreased due to famine, disease, and the upper classes producing
less offspring due to their quest for a pleasure seeking life, soldiers were becoming
scarcer, and the overall economy declined. Factors such as taxing and nomadic
invasions weakened both societies economically, though both civilizations dealt with
taxing differently, causing different effects. In both civilizations, epidemics broke out
within the population. Public baths, sewage systems, and human animal contact
caused diseases such as malaria, smallpox, measles, and the bubonic plague to wipe
out entire populations. In addition, both suffered a cultural decay intellectually.
Roman scholars wrote textbooks summarizing already discovered information instead
of developing new ideas. During that time, Romans became increasingly focused on
pleasure seeking, turning away from political and economic ideas that once shaped
their civilization. Confucian scholars in Han China became less creative and centered
also, causing social and political decline in Confucian philosophies. However; when
The Unitarian Universalist Meeting House
On October 12th 2014 I ventured into the Unitarian Universalist meeting house,
which is located at 501 South High Street in West Chester, PA. I was greeted at the
door by openly gay Reverend Bill Zelazny, who was wearing a tallis like prayer
shawl which was a colorful tapestry with no discernable symbols on it. His head
was uncovered. Reverend Bill was very welcoming and agreed to meet with me
after the service, which I was invited to stay for. I had never been to a religious
service in a denomination other than Judaism in my life, so I was very excited to
have the opportunity to experience the Unitarian faith close up. What first struck
me was the utter lack of religious symbols in the actual meeting room. The walls
were adorned with what looked to be homemade quilts and tapestries of varying
designs. Some were just colorful squares in a pattern, while another seemed to
depict scenes of African life and dance. There were two identical tapestries at the
front of the room, displaying colored curved candles in a rainbow pattern
surrounding a dove in flight. The tapestry looked to be imitating a feeling of
stained glass. Next to the pulpit were two woven signs that hung down from
tables. One said Coexist and the other said Peace . The only place I saw any
recognizable religious symbol was in the corner of the room, where a quilt had
several panels of different religious symbols. It included a cross, the Star of David,
the Islamic star and crescent, the Yin and Yang, as
How To Make Extracurricular Activities Mandatory

When most students get off the bus they go home, veg out on the couch, play video
games, and eat junk food. They usually do this because they don t want to do their
homework, or they re just lazy. However, they probably wouldn t do this if, they
had to stay after school for a club of some sort because if they did, they d be
drowning under the amount of homework they d have to do. Extracurricular
activities are beneficial because they give you a chance to meet new people, gives
you the opportunity to learn useful skills, and are great opportunities for students to

Brave New World Final Essay Brave New World is a book by Aldous Huxley that
gives a look at dystopia from many of the critical thinking lenses. While the book
covers a lot of Marxist topics it also holds a large amount of feminist and historical
criticism topics as well. One of the Marxist topics is how there is one man running
the society and he gets to decide how everyone lives. It also portrays society
through a feminist lens by making society all about sex after work. Also through a
historical lens because his dystopia isn t too crazy of an idea in the society we live in
today. The thing that stands out to me the most is the Marxist aspect, as at the end

For example things such as genetically modifying organisms and food and things in
humans. Or the suggestion that humans could decide what traits their kids can have
before they even come out of the womb. Which in some aspects is similar to the
reproduction process in Brave New World. If humans can determine what someone
will be like while their in the womb, somewhere along the lines someone may use
at as a means of creating people specially for labor. Just like in Brave New World.
Like in the book when it says Bent over their instruments, three hundred Fertilizers

John and somewhat Helmholtz and Bernard, or in real life things like North Korea
where everyone is suffering. A lot of the settings and scenarios in the books can

Helicopters In The Vietnam War
On the morning of April 30 1975, with White Christmas playing on the radio, the
last American boarded a helicopter on the roof of the US Embassy in Saigon
effectively ending a long and painful chapter in US military history (Leeker, 2015).
The iconic photo of Americans climbing the embassy staircase to board the waiting
helicopter became a lasting symbol and serves to highlight the critical role the
helicopter played in the Vietnam War. While the United States
had tested the feasibility
of helicopters in the Korean War, their utility and combat power fully matured over
the rice paddies and jungles of Vietnam. This was never more apparent than during
the final hours of the Vietnam War. The massive air evacuation that took place
undoubtedly saved... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While it had been planned for some time, delaying the evacuation until the last
moment caused the plan to fall apart quickly. Panicked South Vietnamese Army
pilots began stealing Air America helicopters, picking up their families, and
heading out to the flotilla at sea (Veith, 2012). The next serious issue became
access to fuel. The fuel truck, which had been prepositioned for Air America s use,
disappeared. It was later discovered in a impound lot with no keys (Leary
Czajkowski, 2005). This meant that the only place to refuel was the naval ships
parked in the South China Sea. After two or three shuttle flights from Saigon to the
DAO compound, the pilots needed to fly out to sea for refuel. As the skies became
clogged with US Navy, Marine, Air America, and South Vietnamese aircraft, the
spaces to land became sparse. One small frigate with a tiny helipad was able to
land 17 helicopters. They would push each helicopter over the side to make room
for the next (Herman, 2013). As the day progressed, the navy started denying Air
America pilot s requests for fuel. Low on fuel, some pilots were forced to drop their
passengers and ditch the aircraft in the ocean. Others shut down and helped the deck
crew push their aircraft over the side (Leeker, 2015). Despite the absolute chaos, Air
America managed to airlift
Behaviorism Theory And Social Cognitive Theory
Learning perspective also known as behavioral perspective is a theory that is
apprehensive with how a person s behavior changes because of their environment
and experiences. The learning perspective has two theories; behaviorism and social
cognitive learning theory. Furthermore, behaviorists do not invoke the mind to
explain behavior; they prefer to stick to what they can observe and measure directly:
acts and events that happen in the environment (Carole Wade, 2008). In this essay the
following attributes that will be discussed are; the two types of theories and their sub
theories, two current uses in Business Science, what is the learning effectiveness of
those learning approaches, and lastly this essay will be concluded by discussing
alternative uses of the learning approaches in the major business science. Behaviorism
is referred to as a psychological approach which emphasizes scientific and objective
methods of investigation (McLeod, 2016). In the behaviorism theory, we have two
sub theories which are; classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Classical
conditioning is a learning process that occurs when two stimuli are repeatedly paired;
a response that is at first produced by the second stimulus is eventually produced by
the first stimulus alone. Furthermore, operant conditioning is changing of behavior
by the use of reinforcement which is given after the desired response (McLeod,
2016). Reinforcements can be both positive and negative. The second theory

Shen Du Ming Style Essay
Therefore, this period reflected attempts at achieving personal styles, and it came to
be known as the Ming style. This complex relationship between personal style brings
into consideration how style is reflected not only across different calligraphers, but
also how it varied depending on the purpose of writing. Investigating the differences
in calligraphic styles depending on whether it was written for political, literary, or
artistic purposes brings an additional lens when analyzing calligraphy. It also
considers how historical context, such as Confucianism and common ambitions to
work in government, can affect a calligrapher s style. Therefore, I will compare three
calligraphers to represent the different purposes of writing. Shen Du will... Show

In 1403, the Ming court was searching for writers to document events, so Shen was
chosen to be a compiler at the Imperial Academy ( Shen Du Ming Dynasty ).
Excelling at his job, Emperor Yongle even described him as the Wang Xizhi of
modern times and entrusted him with transcription of the most important official
documents ( Shen Du Ming Dynasty ). His most capable style is regular script in
small characters, and he set a legacy of the Official Style for imperial examination
( Shen Du Ming Dynasty ). I will be examining two of Shen Du s works Letter to
Liang Zhongren and The Jingzhai Proverbs. The letter is written with ink on
paper, and it was part of Emperor Qianlong s collection ( Letter to Liang Zhongren
). Currently, it is located in The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This
letter is an example of one of Shen Du s informal writings, and he could show
intimate expressions of [his] personality ( Letter to Liang Zhongren ). The second
piece is an example of the types of official documents he often wrote. Shen Du
wrote it in regular script, the style he became known for, at the age of 62. In this
piece, Shen Du contemplates why there are numerous types of books but rarely any
self written poetry. Currently, this piece is is located in The Beijing Palace
The Symbolism Of Sin In The Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel...
Nathaniel Hawthorne, a anti transcendentalists, born during the early 1800 s, born in
Salem, made a book called The Scarlet Letter. The Scarlet Letter was a book about
Puritans in New England, during the 1600 s in a small Puritan town. In his novel,
The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne uses symbolism of The Scarlet Letter, Pearl
and Burrs to contribute to the overall theme of sin. To begin, Hawthorne uses The
Scarlet Letter to symbolize sin. Hester is the main character in the story, she wears
The Scarlet Letter as a symbol of shame, because the letter she wears on her chest
stands for Adultery. Hester Prynnewas a woman who had been married by one man
then had a baby with another man. Doing this caused a secret sin upon Hester and...

The Scarlet Letter is a reminder to her and the rest of society for what she has
done. In addition, Hawthorne uses Pearl to contribute to the theme of sin. Pearl is
the daughter of Hester Prynne and Dimmesdale, she has a very strange nature to
her because she was born into darkness, she was bought at a great price. She was
made like a real pearl, being made from extreme darkness and pressure, hence the
name Pearl. In the beginning of the story around when she was first brought out of
the prison at the age of around 3 months, Hawthorne says, ... had brought it
acquainted only with the gray twilight of a dungeon, or other darksome apartment
of the prison. (Hawthorne 50). Hawthorne said this because Hester had Pearl in the
prison, which means that Pearl was born into darkness. Nevertheless this contributes
to the theme of Pearl because she is considered a token of shame because Hester
committed adultery to have her. Over time Hester sees a change in Pearl as she gets
older and is worried about how she is changing and how her nature is transfiguring.
Hawthorne says, Day after day, she looked fearfully in the child s expanding nature...
dreading to detect some dark and wild peculiarity...correspond with the guiltiness to
which she held her being. (Hawthorne 82). Hawthorne insights on this because Hester
has worried about what Pearl was turning into, Pearl plays with her imagination, not
playing with friends, but
Religiosus Case Study
1.This case study shows an abscess on Brent and pain in Kristen s knee, a week
after surgery. These two patients have a few similarities in common, such as,
discomfort and an unusual look to the infected area. The pain was also not felt
initially, but after a few days it appeared. The difference between these patients is
that Brent did not undergo a routine procedure and instead had an abscess appear out
of nowhere. Kristen on the other hand, had surgery meaning there may have been
some bacterial transmission during the procedure a week earlier. She had greater
symptoms that included a high fever unlike Brent. 2.The antibiotic did not work for
Kristen as she was misdiagnosed. She possibly does not obtain simple bacteria in her
body, therefore,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After examining the symptoms of both patients, I believe Brent may have
staphylococcus aureus. This is a bacterium that enters the body and effects the
surface of the skin. The effect may be seen visually as he had an abscess. Kristen
may have MRSA which a simply a more serious form of staphylococcus aureus.
This is why the antibiotics may have also not worked on her. Part 2 Questions
1Staphylococcus is a common bacteria found in the skin of individuals. This is a
pretty harmless until it enters the skin through small breaks, resulting in a disease.
Symptoms when once in the bloodstream may include pneumonia, fever, chills, and
others. When spread to a large extent, death may occur in serious cases. 2According
to Krasner and Shors, staphylococci infections cause pimples, abscesses, and
inflamed lesions that can progress into boils. MRSA is a more serious condition
which is resistant to anti staphylococci drug methicillin and drugs including oxacillin,
penicillin, and others. Natural selected has allowed some strains to adapt to
antibiotics. 3Hypotheses a.Kristen may have had HGT which is the horizontal gene
transfer which allowed bacteria to pass on their DNA to one another. Since MRSA
may have a gene protecting against antibiotics, this may have been transferred,
resulting in more antibiotic resistant

South Korean War Analysis
On September 28, 1950, the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Australian Regiment arrived
in Pusan, South Korea in what would be Australia s major contribution in the war
effort against invading forces from the north of the Korean peninsula, to the
Korean People s Army (KPA). Following Prime Minister Sir Robert Menzies
endorsement of UNSC Resolution 82, this would see the beginning of a three year
conflict in which Australia would commit 17,000 troops and suffer over 300
fatalities, only five years after the end of the Second World War, (AWM, 2016) . In
what was predicated as Australia s commitment to providing peacekeeping troops for
the United Nations to preserve the freedom of South Koreans, the Korean War would
eventually play a fundamental role in solidifying Australia s shift in vital military
alliances, in particular the post WWII development of the United Statesin surpassing
the United Kingdom as a key protector of Australia.
Whilst the invasion of South Korea by North Korean troops might not have presented
a direct threat to Australian security interests, in can be seen that the development of

Whilst this is a highly authoritative primary source, as a key figure in the Labor

the time to minimize the perception of a communist threats due to public fears of a

Disadvantages And Disadvantage Of Technology
Nowadays, technology takes over the world as penetrate through human life. The
biggest effects would be teenagers as they use technology more often. The technology
impacts the family environment, social relationships with people; health of people
that do not have rational use of technology, creativity, and focus.
The first reason will cause lack of communication with the people as electronic
devices had replaced the existence of human relationship bond. It caused teenagers
to be isolated at home as they feel like on the phone, as to an example, they can hear
each other through a group chat. So, there is no need a gathering event be created.
When technology had become advanced, there are machines created like treadmill
and jogging bicycle. This allows the teenagers to become lazy to go out and instead
they exercise at home. On the other hand, it causes less interaction with people.
Nowadays, most of the parents are busy with their work and buying teenagers video
games. This type of devices helps the teenagers to have the feeling that their parents
still care about them, but this actually pulls the distance away between them. Their
parents actually neglect them, and this causes them to consume more time on playing
the game. The times spending with family are lesser than the time of playing games.
Besides that, technology is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It will bring them the sense of inferiority. For example, in the class. Everyone is
using a smartphone, but some people are not. That kind of people will feel like
excluded from them as a party member. Other than that, the richer kid will show off
their new phone to the class. This cause some of the students willing to buy the
newest phone also as the rich people insult the poor people. They tend to do anything
if someone buys them the phone. This cause human trafficking in the society as they
want the phone and got cheated to sell their body for

Rhetorical Analysis Of Let Them Eat Dog By John Foer
In the article, Let Them Eat Dog, Jonathan Foer sheds light on a controversial
topic, the consumption and breeding of dogs for food. Throughout Foer s article
he uses many different argumentative tactics in order to capture the reader s
attention on whether or not eating dogs should be considered morally. He uses
three emotional tactics to establish his credibility and prove he knows the topic.
The three tactics are ethos, pathos and logos Foer uses these three argumentative
tools to convey his message across not only to prove eating dogs is wrong, but to
take a stance on a bigger issue, the slaughtering of animals. One of the first
argumentative tools about Foer s article is his use of ethos, ethos is an ethical appeal
or means to convince... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He first uses pathos when he talked about how many animals are euthanized each
year and how those animals are used for food (Foer). By using pathos it either
brings out the audience s sympathy or anger trying to convince them to make a
difference. In his article he is trying to appeal to the audience emotional side to
convince them eating animals is wrong. The second time he uses pathos is when
he talks about how the Hawaiians hold the dog s nose shut ¬¬in order to
conserve the blood (Foer). When he talks about other cultures traditions, he is
trying to show his readers how disgusting and horrifying other traditions are no
matter which animal is being killed. The third time he uses pathos in his article is
when he talks about a Filipino recipe. First, kill a medium sized dog, then burn the
fur over a hot fire (Foer). While reading this sentence most animal lovers would
feel horrified at the mental image running through their mind. His whole point of
using the Filipino recipe was to show people how other cultures use different
animals, but he mostly wanted people to see if the recipe called for chicken, cow,
or even horse most people would be okay with the recipe. Pathos is a good tool to
use in ones article because emotion is a good way to capture the audience to try and
make them take a stand on the issue at
Persuasive Essay On Physician Assisted Suicide
Physician assisted suicide is a very controversial topic in the medical field. It is a
topic that has been debated over for years. Webster s dictionary defines this terms
as, suicide by a patient facilitated by means (as a drug prescription) or by information
(as an indication of a lethal dosage) provided by a physicianaware of the patient s
intent (Merriam Webster). In other words, it is a way that when a patient is ill, they
can commit suicidewith the help of a physician. This practice is legal in some states
in the United States and in many countries around the world. This topic is so
controversial because people disagree on whether it is ethical to help someone end
another person s life. There are many people that advocate this and there are also
many people that disagree with helping someone commit suicide. Physician assisted
suicide is currently legal in five states in the United States. These include California,
Montana, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. The laws included that for a patient to
be eligible for this procedure, they had to be diagnosed with a terminal illness that
will lead to deathwithin six months... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In opinion E 2.211, it says, physician assisted suicide is fundamentally incompatible
with the physician s role as healer, would be difficult or impossible to control, and
would pose serious societal risks (Lagay). The role of a physician is to help and
heal and many people believe that allowing them to help kill their patients is going
against everything they should be doing. It would also go against their Hippocratic
Oath where they are required to do no harm (Messerli). The reason this oath was
made was so patients knew their doctors would help them to the best of their abilities.
Allowing physicians to help their patients commit suicide could weaken this oath and
people wouldn t be able to trust physicians as
How Did Martin Luther King Jr Influence Our Society
The condition of our society today as we know it could only be shaped by the
historical figures and occurrences that have influenced our culture, as well as many
others. History is always changing, and affects many aspects of the world that would
not be the same without it. Martin Luther King Jr. is a man whom was inspired by
his faith in religion, nonviolent activist Mahatma Gandhi, and his desire for equality
to make a difference in society today. King fought for equality between African
Americans and whites, civil rights, and diversity in America to unite our country and
be at peace.
Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia, a southern part of the United
States that was still struggling with the involvement of racial discrimination and
segregation. He grew up in a strictly religious family following the Christian Baptist

When we came to 2013 we saw the ratification of a new Wi Fi standard which was

it is known to use wider channels such as (80 MHz and 160 MHz) as compared to
(802.11n) which only has (20 MHz and 45 MHz) in the relatively clean 5 GHz
frequency band and which can enable data rates of up to around 1.3 Gbps. There
are now some pre standard (802.11ac) products which are already on the market,
with having the approval of the expected standard in late 2013. It was the exact

  • 1. Essay On Multiculturalism Crafting an essay on the subject of multiculturalism presents both intellectual challenges and nuanced considerations. The complexity arises from the vast and dynamic nature of multiculturalism itself. As a writer, you must navigate through the intricate web of diverse cultures, traditions, and perspectives that characterize multicultural societies. This requires a deep understanding of the historical, social, and political dimensions of multiculturalism. One of the difficulties lies in striking the right balance between celebrating cultural diversity and addressing the potential challenges that may arise. Multiculturalism isn't a one-size-fits-all concept; it manifests differently in various regions and societies. Therefore, conducting thorough research to grasp the unique manifestations and impacts of multiculturalism in specific contexts is essential. Furthermore, crafting an essay on multiculturalism necessitates an exploration of the benefits and drawbacks of such diversity. It requires the writer to critically analyze how multicultural policies and practices influence social cohesion, equality, and identity. This analytical depth demands a keen eye for detail and an ability to synthesize information from various academic disciplines. Moreover, expressing these complex ideas in a coherent and engaging manner poses its own set of challenges. A well-structured essay on multiculturalism should seamlessly integrate historical context, theoretical frameworks, and contemporary examples. This demands not only a high level of writing proficiency but also a capacity for synthesizing diverse information into a cohesive narrative. Addressing the potential biases and stereotypes associated with multiculturalism adds another layer of complexity. A successful essay should avoid perpetuating stereotypes while still acknowledging the challenges that can emerge within multicultural societies. In conclusion, writing an essay on multiculturalism is a demanding task that requires a combination of research, critical thinking, and effective communication skills. Navigating through the intricate tapestry of cultures and addressing the multifaceted aspects of multiculturalism demands intellectual rigor. However, it is precisely this complexity that makes the exploration of multiculturalism intellectually stimulating and socially relevant. If you need assistance with essays or other academic writing tasks, consider exploring resources like HelpWriting.net, where you can find support for a wide range of topics and assignments. • 3. Kami-No-Michi Religion Shintoism, also known as kami no michi (or way of gods ) is an ancient Japanese religion, which started at about 1000 BCE. This religious tradition is devoted to the worship of spiritual beings and powers, called kami, as well as providing emphasis towards life in this world and the righteousness of man. Ancient authoritative records of great significance, such as the Kojiki and the Nihongi, are based on the Shinto religion. According to the Kojiki, the kami were responsible for the creation of the world. Izanagi no mikoto, the male who invites , and Izanami no mikoto, the female who invites , created other kami such as Amaterasu (the Sun Goddess), Tsuki yomi (The Moon God), Susano o (The Storm God), and the Eight Great Islands of Japan. The kami also includes the spiritual beings which inhabit living things as well as the ancestors of individuals of nobility and honour. The kami was considered to be within everything, but only those which are deemed strikingly wondrous were entitled to the name. These deities are considered to be of imminent nature as they dwell within human beings, with whom they are characterised as having a close relationship with. In fact, Shintoism regards humanity as children of kami; hence, human beings are considered to be of sacred and divine nature. Morality provides emphasis towards the common good of men as well as upholding significant ethical values, which must be fostered and cultivated in order to grasp one s full potential magokoro; thus, the failure of complying to such ethical principles would result in the adversities of an

  • 5. Schuurvy Research Paper Scurvy is a nutritional disease that stems from a lack of Vitamin C. I chose this as my topic because I have always been interested in history and how historically on ships it was difficult to have fresh fruit aboard because they would spoil on long trips and instead they would have meats and foods that could be preserved with heavy amounts of salt. Scurvy was first documented as a disease by Hippocrates and was discovered by ancient Egyptians in 1550 but people would often forget eating Vitamin Cis an effective cure for the disease. In the 13th century people often suffered from Scurvy. Eventually the explorers wizened up to this and the Portuguese planted fruit trees and vegetables that they could harvest on their way home from journeys
  • 6. Essay On Romanticism Introduction Because we did not do the presentation for The Cultural Dimension of Europe, we now made a make up assignment. In this make up assignment we made a discussion paper over romanticism as a way of looking at the world. First we have an introduction about romanticism and then we have four debating points to discuss. Firstly does history repeat itself, focusing at the reaction of romanticism on events in the 18th century to the reaction of romanticism on events nowadays? Secondly is a green world a good world? Thirdly if you are religious, are you a romanticist? And fourthly are politics and the economy created by rationalization? Body First an introduction about, romanticism. Romanticism started about 200 years ago. This was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But why was nature so important for romanticists? Romanticism and nature are connected because the artists and philosophers of the romantic period emphasized the glory and beauty of nature, and the power of the natural world. Some scholars of romanticism believe that the romanticists treated nature in an almost religious way. Reasons for the development of this strong connection between nature and romanticism include the Industrial Revolution, which led many people to leave rural areas and live in cities, separated from the natural world. In addition, during the 18th and 19th centuries when romanticism was popular, large areas of European and North American wilderness had been tamed, so that it had become generally much safer for people to travel into these areas and observe their natural wonders. The connection between romanticism and nature may have also risen in part as a backlash against the scientific emphasis of enlightenment philosophy, and against the cultural norms of that period. Many romanticist artists, writers, and philosophers believe in the natural world as a source of healthy emotions and ideas. By contrast, the emerging urban, industrialized world was often portrayed as a source of unhealthy emotions, morals, and thoughts. Romanticists such as Henry David Thoreau believed that humans were meant to live in the world of nature, rather than the urban world. The connection between Romanticism and nature was largely formed with this core concept that man s true self can be found in the wilderness, rather than in the
  • 7. Significances Of Total Solar Eclipses A Total Solar Eclipse occurs when the visible portion of our Moon covers the visible portion of our sun, causing it to seem like a white ring with a black center, causing an extremely unique view of our sun and Moon. The Total Solar Eclipse can only be seen from a few points in the world, in the umbral shadow. Most people in the world will only see a partial Solar Eclipse, where the Moonwill only cover a portion of the sun, due to the fact that they re in the penumbral. While not as unique, it s still a rare sight to behold. The reason Solar Eclipses are so rare to begin with is due to the special coincidence of the Moon and sun being the same size to our eyes. While our sun is 400 times the size of our Moon, our sun is also 400 times farther away, causing them to appear the same size in our sky. As previously stated, you can only see a Total Solar Eclipse from an umbral shadow, which is the darkest part of the shadow cast on the Earth. This only happens when the Moon Totally covers the sun, but this is not the only factor. The Moon also has to be close to, or at the point of perigee, the point of the Moon s orbit closest to Earth. The penumbral shadow is only visible when the Moon only partly obscures the Sun s disk, causing a partial Solar Eclipse, but there are still more. There s the Annular Solar Eclipse, which is similar to a Total Solar Eclipse, but the Moon is too small to completely cover the sun, and the Sun s outer edges remain visible to form a ring of fire in the sky. This can only happen when the Moon is near to, or at the point of apogee, the point of the Moon s orbit farthest from Earth, and can only be seen from the Moon s antumbra. The last type of eclipse, Hybrid Solar Eclipses, also known as annular Total eclipses, are the rarest type. This only occurs when a Solar Eclipse changes between a Total Solar Eclipse and an Annular Solar Eclipse along it s path. According to the article What Are Solar Eclipses? on the website timeanddate.com /eclipse/solar eclipse.html For a solar eclipse to take place, the Sun, the Moon, and Earth must be aligned in a perfect or near perfect straight line an alignment astronomers call syzygy. This happens around New Moon every lunar month. There are 2
  • 8. My Mom Shehnaz Soni Is An Everyday Hero People normally characterize heroes as someone with supernatural abilities like superman, but a hero can be anyone. A hero can be an average person doing something good like picking up someone s wallet when you have dropped it. Another example would be someone who fights crime and fights fire. These everyday unsung heroes generally do these things because they have good intentions, even if it is for little reward or fame. I have a close familymember who bears the qualities needed to be an everyday unsung hero. My Mom Shehnaz Soni is an everyday, unsung hero because she has given me and my younger brothers love and care for our basic needs and she has also persevered in overcoming two divorces. From person to person tastes in music differ greatly and the effect that music has on ones self can be very abstract, so how can the aesthetics of a classification of music, pop, that is: simple, predictable and repetitious be measured? The most obvious way to measure aesthetics would be personal opinion, then scaled to public opinion and in turn, economic market value. One s personal opinion, although often times thought to be objective when one is defending a favorite song it is difficult to measure an exact aesthetic value of a song. Why is it that so many cringe at the mere mention of the Spice Girls or Britney Spears? If pop music is a reflection of current culture, and is taken as just pure enjoyment and fun, meaningless lyrics and feel good music, any scientific or musically theoretical measurements should be dismissed. Scientists located in japan may have found a solution to this dilemma as they were recently able to locate methane clathrate, more commonly known as fire ice. Despite the name existing as an oxymoron, many believe this hydrate could prove to be the savior for the earth s fuel problems. However, given current research this supposedly useful source of natural gascould prove even more detrimental towards the environment than carbon dioxide. What must first be noted is that methane clathrate is a solid hydrate compound. A hydrate is typically a crystalline compound in which water molecules are chemically bound to another element.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Increase in temperature or a drop in pressure would cause it to dissociate rapidly, causing the ice to melt allowing the release gas, which would cause problems not only towards global warming, but also their solid existence makes them a source of support. With the release of gas the support would be lost and cause landslides that would severely damage the production equipment and existing pipelines. Not only that, but melting a single cubic meter block of this ice would release 160 cubic meters of harmful methane, which is much worse than carbon dioxide ( Methane Hydrate , 2014). Any form of retrieval technology used must be careful to capture all the gas, especially those found in the Arctic, because if that reserve is lost, it would continually discharge gas for an unknown amount of time, and as noted before any release of gas proves to be extremely detrimental (Niiler, 2013). A Place Beyond Time does just that. Containing a vastly abstract title, A Place Beyond Timemay at first glance appear to properly relate time as a tangent notion with space. Upon further contemplation, however, it becomes patent that A Place Beyond Time possesses a conspicuous absence present in its philosophy of aloofness from intangibility. And although the name of the course attempts to tackle and manifest the complications of abstract and concrete time, it is through its lack of definition and precision, lack of possession, and lack of sensation of repetition that A Place Beyond Time fails to properly capitalize on this dilemma. In scrutiny, A in A Place Beyond Time appears to breed the idea of time in any place any where, albeit inaccurate. Which place? True, however, that the use of A allows for intrigue and mystery. In any other circumstance, other than specificity, the use of A is better. Perhaps, through the use of a, the title indeed attempts to capture suspense and mystery to represent the obscure connections of space and time in the abstract. That of which it effectively executes. The course title, nevertheless, does not zero in on specificity and detachment from generic description. The

The Kingdom of God is our hope and our happiness. Describe. The Kingdom of God is here and it is coming. It is within you and always there. The Kingdom of God is coming but only through Jesus Christ. In Matthew 13 there are different parables that explain the Kingdom of God through an ordinary story. In the parable of the Sower and the Seed, it paints a picture about how not all will receive the Kingdom of God. The parable of the weeds shows that good and evilcoexist in the Kingdom of God. In the parable of the mustard seed, it talks about how the Kingdom of God is still growing and will continue growing. In the parable of the fishnet, it explains that in the end the good will make it to the Kingdom of God, but those who are bad or evil will be thrown away. The Kingdom of God is many things. In our lifetime, we seem to get glimpses of the Kingdom of God in the things that we do. These glimpses are described as fully alive moments. Every fully alive moment is different for every person. One of those moments could be praising God in song in church or in chapel. That moment you are seeing and you feel the Holy Spiritis there and it makes you feel so warm and fuzzy inside. Other moments are, mission trips or YU trips when we see the power of God in what we do for that week. These little glimpses of the Kingdom of God make us excited to

  • 31. Literature Review On Resilience CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW INTRODUCTION This chapter will provide an overview of resilience and the factors that affect it will be discussed. The literature review will address parental rearing behaviour, social support as well as religious faith in relation to resilience. Joseph (1994) defines resilience as the glue that keeps individuals functioning when they are confronted with misfortunes and challenges. It is also the attitudes, coping behaviour and personal strength in people who manage adversity and adjust well to changes in their lives, as well as the ability to bounce back from bad or difficult situations. Such labels implied that these individuals were in possession of a rare and significant set of qualities that enabled them to rebound from whatever adversity came their direction, almost as if these fortunate individuals possessed a sort of innate magical force that protected them form all harm (Santos, nd) Implicit in the concept of resilience as a dynamic process is the understanding that resilience can grow or decline over time depending on the interactions taking place between an individual and their environment and between risk and protective factors in an individual s life (Borman Rachuba, 2001). The process of resilience is dependent on the factors in a person s environment and other factors in their life. These concepts will be discussed in detail in the following paragraphs. Current theories view resilience as a multidimensional construct, which includes constitutional variables like temperament and personality, in addition to specific skills such as active problem solving skills that allow individuals to cope well with traumatic life

A Comparison of the Decline of Han China and the Roman Empire A Comparison of the Decline of Han China and the Roman Empire The decline of China and Rome both shared similar economic strife in that they were both subject to barbarian and nomadic invasions, therefore having to spend large amounts of money on frontier defense; however, they differed in that the Han Empire collapsed in part due to the high taxes imposed on the peasant class resulting in a large peasant rebellion, such as the Yellow Turbans, while in Rome tax collections was in danger of abandonment as residents of the empire were few in number and in financial difficulty. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Han Empire chose to overtax the overwhelmingly large peasant class which instigated an enormous peasant rebellion led by the Yellow Turbans, a Daoist religious sect who opposed the over taxation of peasantry and attempted to form a Golden Age . In the Roman Empire, taxation slowly became a thing of the past, as the Romans decreasing population failed to pay taxes at all during hard times. As the Roman population decreased due to famine, disease, and the upper classes producing less offspring due to their quest for a pleasure seeking life, soldiers were becoming scarcer, and the overall economy declined. Factors such as taxing and nomadic invasions weakened both societies economically, though both civilizations dealt with taxing differently, causing different effects. In both civilizations, epidemics broke out within the population. Public baths, sewage systems, and human animal contact caused diseases such as malaria, smallpox, measles, and the bubonic plague to wipe out entire populations. In addition, both suffered a cultural decay intellectually. Roman scholars wrote textbooks summarizing already discovered information instead of developing new ideas. During that time, Romans became increasingly focused on pleasure seeking, turning away from political and economic ideas that once shaped their civilization. Confucian scholars in Han China became less creative and centered also, causing social and political decline in Confucian philosophies. However; when

I was greeted at the door by openly gay Reverend Bill Zelazny, who was wearing a tallis like prayer shawl which was a colorful tapestry with no discernable symbols on it. His head was uncovered. Reverend Bill was very welcoming and agreed to meet with me after the service, which I was invited to stay for. I had never been to a religious service in a denomination other than Judaism in my life, so I was very excited to have the opportunity to experience the Unitarian faith close up. What first struck me was the utter lack of religious symbols in the actual meeting room. The walls were adorned with what looked to be homemade quilts and tapestries of varying designs. Some were just colorful squares in a pattern, while another seemed to depict scenes of African life and dance. There were two identical tapestries at the front of the room, displaying colored curved candles in a rainbow pattern surrounding a dove in flight. The tapestry looked to be imitating a feeling of stained glass. Next to the pulpit were two woven signs that hung down from tables. One said Coexist and the other said Peace . The only place I saw any recognizable religious symbol was in the corner of the room, where a quilt had several panels of different religious symbols. It included a cross, the Star of David, the Islamic star and crescent, the Yin and Yang, as

While it had been planned for some time, delaying the evacuation until the last moment caused the plan to fall apart quickly. Panicked South Vietnamese Army pilots began stealing Air America helicopters, picking up their families, and heading out to the flotilla at sea (Veith, 2012). The next serious issue became access to fuel. The fuel truck, which had been prepositioned for Air America s use, disappeared. It was later discovered in a impound lot with no keys (Leary Czajkowski, 2005). This meant that the only place to refuel was the naval ships parked in the South China Sea. After two or three shuttle flights from Saigon to the DAO compound, the pilots needed to fly out to sea for refuel. As the skies became clogged with US Navy, Marine, Air America, and South Vietnamese aircraft, the spaces to land became sparse. One small frigate with a tiny helipad was able to land 17 helicopters. Behaviorism Theory And Social Cognitive Theory Learning perspective also known as behavioral perspective is a theory that is apprehensive with how a person s behavior changes because of their environment and experiences. The learning perspective has two theories; behaviorism and social cognitive learning theory. Furthermore, behaviorists do not invoke the mind to explain behavior; they prefer to stick to what they can observe and measure directly: acts and events that happen in the environment (Carole Wade, 2008). In this essay the following attributes that will be discussed are; the two types of theories and their sub theories, two current uses in Business Science, what is the learning effectiveness of those learning approaches, and lastly this essay will be concluded by discussing alternative uses of the learning approaches in the major business science. Behaviorism is referred to as a psychological approach which emphasizes scientific and objective methods of investigation (McLeod, 2016). In the behaviorism theory, we have two sub theories which are; classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Classical conditioning is a learning process that occurs when two stimuli are repeatedly paired; a response that is at first produced by the second stimulus is eventually produced by the first stimulus alone. Furthermore, operant conditioning is changing of behavior by the use of reinforcement which is given after the desired response (McLeod, 2016). Reinforcements can be both positive and negative. The biggest effects would be teenagers as they use technology more often. The technology impacts the family environment, social relationships with people; health of people that do not have rational use of technology, creativity, and focus. The first reason will cause lack of communication with the people as electronic devices had replaced the existence of human relationship bond. It caused teenagers to be isolated at home as they feel like on the phone, as to an example, they can hear each other through a group chat. So, there is no need a gathering event be created. He uses three emotional tactics to establish his credibility and prove he knows the topic. The three tactics are ethos, pathos and logos Foer uses these three argumentative tools to convey his message across not only to prove eating dogs is wrong, but to take a stance on a bigger issue, the slaughtering of animals. By using pathos it either brings out the audience s sympathy or anger trying to convince them to make a difference. In his article he is trying to appeal to the audience emotional side to convince them eating animals is wrong. The second time he uses pathos is when he talks about how the Hawaiians hold the dog s nose shut ¬¬in order to conserve the blood (Foer). When he talks about other cultures traditions, he is trying to show his readers how disgusting and horrifying other traditions are no matter which animal is being killed. The third time he uses pathos in his article is when he talks about a Filipino recipe. First, kill a medium sized dog, then burn the fur over a hot fire (Foer). While reading this sentence most animal lovers would feel horrified at the mental image running through their mind. His whole point of using the Filipino recipe was to show people how other cultures use different animals, but he mostly wanted people to see if the recipe called for chicken, cow, or even horse most people would be okay with the recipe. Pathos is a good tool to use in ones article because emotion is a good way to capture the audience to try and make them take a stand on the issue at

It would also go against their Hippocratic Oath where they are required to do no harm (Messerli). The reason this oath was made was so patients knew their doctors would help them to the best of their abilities. Allowing physicians to help their patients commit suicide could weaken this oath and people wouldn t be able to trust physicians as
