4. The Patterns Of Biological Diversity Throughout Rivers And...
The patterns of biological diversity in rivers and streams among taxa vary on a spatial and
temporal scale (Ligeiro et al. 2010; McGarvey and Terra 2015). Variations in stream ecology can
be contributed to water quality, habitat, and history of disturbance (Lingeiro et al. 2010). Creeks
and streams feed into rivers and other larger bodies of water, which provide food, water, and
other commercial and recreational services as well as a home to an array of plants and animals
which rely on clean water. The health of these smaller bodies of water can act as indicators for the
health of the larger watershed. Benthic macroinvertebrates have been used to assess the health of
aquatic environments. Quality analysis involves looking at benthic speciescomposition and
organization within the stream(Resh and Unzicke 1975). Different macroinvertebrates have differing
sensitivities to pollutant, with some being more susceptible to environmental toxins than others
(Metcalfe 1989). Such methods group macroinvertebrates in regards to their tolerance to pollution.
The EPT Index looks at Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, and Trichoptera (mayflies, stoneflies, and
caddisflies, respectively) as indicators of aquatic community health. The idea behind the EPT
Index is that healthier streams have a greater richness of species as many species of
macroinvertebrates are intolerant of pollutions and thus will not be found in low quality bodies of
water (Lenat 1988). Previous studies have found that EPT

7. Effects Of Corruption In Chile
Corruption is a form of a crime in Chile that has manifested itself into various small and large
businesses, government, and organizations across Chile affecting, individuals on all levels. For
instance, bribery is an estimated $1 trillion business in Latin America seeking to secure power at
any cost, abusing public resources for personal gain and influencing new and existing policies and
regulations to further private agendas (Kaufmann, 2015). Although, there are countries like Chile
who have incorporated stronger economic governance in the effort to combat the effects of
corruption and bring forth transparency, while other countries in Latin America show governance

After the invasion of Normandy, France by the Allies in World War II, the Allies pushed the

of that year, 1944, and to do so required a major push across Europe to Berlin. Operation Market
Garden would the largest airborne battle during the war and would be led under Field Marshal Sir
Bernard Montgomery who was in command of the 21st Army Group. What was thought to be the
final push into Berlin, Germany by the Allies proved to be wrong during Operation Market Garden.
The Allies ultimately lost the battle and were forced to delay movement into Germany. The Battle
of Arnhem was the most famous battle during Operation Market Garden, known as a bridge too
far , where the British 1st Airborne Division, led by Major General R.E. Urquhart, and the Polish
1st Independent Parachute Brigade were dropped in the Netherlands to secure the key bridges at
Arnhem. Ultimately the mission failed for the British due to lack of resupply and reinforcements
from the British XXX Corps on the ground. MG Urquhart did not demonstrate the steps in mission
command, understand, visualize, lead and direct during the Battle of Arnhem, which also
contributed to losing the battle. Operation Market Garden involved two plans by the Allies;
Operation Market was the airborne plan and Operation Garden was the ground plan. The Allied

There is much debate on whether the government should have a big or lesser role in regulating the
economy. Many people think that the government should be more involved, but I believe that the
government should receive a lesser role in regulating the economy because of how it affects
individuals in global trade and corporations. Less government regulation in global trade will be a
better decision and create lesser problems. The purpose of the government in a global trade is to
make sure that the transaction between consumers and producers is not interrupted. They must

What Does Today Owe Tomorrow tackles the question whether we should help the future
generation even if they have not done anything to give back. Scientists believed that (3) if we
continue pouring greenhouse gases into the atmosphere at ever rising rates, the unknown will
remain substantial because of how much of the present will affect the suffering of the future
people. However, economists in the field believe that the thing to do is to put a price on
emissions of greenhouses gases that would raise the price of gasoline and electricity. Doing this
would stop emissions and people would want to buy better and efficient cars. Because this is
unknown, another likely answer is to push harder on climate policies or increase emissions price.

the First Amendment, cases involving businesses have increased from 1.5 to 2.2 a year and those
involving individuals have fallen 4.2 to 3.6. With the use of the First Amendment, corporations use

She not only believed in her staff, but in the company we worked for. It has been close to 20
years since I worked with Lucy, but I still remember her leadership style and it has had lasting
effects on the way I lead. Communication skills are extremely important in an effective leader. A
strong leader is able listen to her staff and communicates where they need to go to meet the goals
of the organization. This requires listening but also speaking in a way that can be easily
understood, so that everyone on the team knows what the goals are and how to meet them. She
took the time to know us as individuals and took an interest in our personal lives. People want to
know that they matter and that they have an opportunity to express that value in their work and
actions (Porter O Grady Malloch, 2007). We knew that she cared and it motivated us to do our best.

Within Cox s book she relives the phenomenon at which she faced the frigid unknown. That one
day Cox would put everything she had into a dream only she could possibly achieve due to her
physical and mental stability. Lynne Cox was an overall great swimmer and could conquer just

Tim Burton s Unique Style/Burtonesque
Just like in his previous movies, in both The Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas, it
is very clear to find Burton s own signature. People have frequently contrasted Burton s style with
the gothic. The utilization of dark, the dimness of some of his illustrations, the overwhelming
make up, the whiteness of the skins, beasts and other spooky animals review Gothic writing and
works of art yet, in addition, German Expressionism. The topic of death is ubiquitous in Burton s
specialty regularly joined with verse and ridicule. The shocking end up noticeably funny and
beautiful. He discovers motivation in the creators he adores like Edgar Allan Poe and Roald Dahl.
He appreciates them for the unpredictability of their stories and the many sided quality of their
universes a long way from being recently highly contrasting. They are both entertaining and dull
and near Burton s own particular style.
A world brimming with logical inconsistencies, both dull and light, startling and inviting,
merciless and delicate. A world where obscurity lives together with splendid hues, where strange
looking individuals and creatures are overcome and liberal and where the terrible ends up plainly
wonderful. Tim Burton has his own style that remaining parts incomparable and his lavishness has
turned out to be to a great degree famous. His world is such a

21. The Importance Of School Culture
As mentioned by Peterson, K. D., Deal, T. E. (2009) when it comes to school culture there are many
hidden or not visible aspects that need to be considered. For example, we need to take in
consideration things that will promote or affect commitment, productivity as well as motivation. As
Peterson, K. D., Deal, T. E. (1999) mentioned, School culture influences what people pay
attention to (focus), how they identify with the school (commitment), how hard they work
(motivation), and the degree to which they achieve their goals (productivity)... For instance
something things that we take for granted such as: manners, way we celebrate others, vision
mission, ways we even greet others and even the tone of voice we use might set the wrong culture.
Even though, we are all trying to catch up, we need to take our time to consider what is important
and or might affectour school community. Simple things such as greeting others, parents, students
and staff member need to be our number one priority, having time to listen to their problems,
concerns as well as their ideas will also help us create a positive culture. We need to listen to those
unsaid words, hidden messages, we need to focus on what it is important, setting up the best
learning/teaching/working opportunities for all community members. As school leaders we need to
understand, that our voice tone, facial gestures, comments as well as preoccupation for getting

23. Mass Media Victims Analysis
What we know and what we think we may know about victims is greatly influenced by what we
see on television, on the internet and in many other forms of media. This representation although
sometimes may be misleading it helps shape our outlooks and understandings of victims and the
assumption we as society make about them. Media has always been seen as an influential tool that
can manipulate society s opinion and perceptions of a victim. In the public s mind the term victim
is seen as a person who has become powerless or submissive due to the result of crime, whether
they are injured, killed or involved in events or actions of misfortune in which they are seen as
some kind of victim. The increasing visibility of victims within mass mediadue... Show more

Dr Elizabeth Yardley hit out at the BBC saying it followed the ideal victimhood phenomenon,
which says people are more sympathetic to the deaths of young, white women. (Yardley,2015)
Yardley is arguing the show has gone with a white female because it is what is considered the
norm and is what the public will respond to, what is called white girl syndrome . As it is argued
our national ideal of who is vulnerable and who holds victim status are those who are white and
female. (McKelvey,2013) Undoubtable suggesting that our perception of victimhood is partly a
media creation. (McKelvey,2013) the breakdown in media victim coverage does not represent
reality suggesting We have a sort of racial hierarchy, (McIlwain,2013). This was evident in the
case of Stephen Lawrence who struggled to get media coverage because of the colour of his
skin and his background. According to a 2010 academic study, roughly 80% of the news
coverage about missing children is devoted to victims who are not black, while only 20% is
given to children who are black (Min and Feaster, 2010). There is no question that victimhood is
a media creation and so is the typical image of a victim it is the main source of information, we
are manipulated into believing a pretty white women is what a typical victim will look like as
media thinks society will respond to it, showing how media is bias and concentrates on personal
characteristics before deciding whether something is media

24. Essay on Cause and Effects of Smallpox
Cause and Effects of Smallpox
Smallpox is caused by the variola virus that emerged in human populations thousands of years ago.
Smallpox is a specific, infectious, and highly contagious febrile disease known only to be
transmitted by humans. It is caused by a virus from air currents which are eventually passed on
from person to person. Smallpox varies from a mild form without skin manifestations to a highly
fatal hemorrhagic form. Edward Jenner, an English physician, discovered a means of preventing
smallpox through vaccination. Gradually mass vaccination programs were introduced in many
parts of the world. Smallpox was the first disease conquered by human beings and was eradicated
by vaccination. The last known cases of naturally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cause and Effects of Smallpox...2
Exposure to the virus is followed by an incubation period which people may not feel any sign of
symptoms. The incubation period can range between 7 to 17 days. People are not contagious
during this time period. After the incubation period, high fever, chills, severe headache and
backache, and general malaise begin to develop. Your body temperature can reach up to 106
degrees Fahrenheit. After 2 to 4 days, a rash emerges first as small red spots on the tongue and in
the mouth. The spots develop into sores which spread large amounts of the virus into the mouth
and throat. The person becomes most contagious during this phase. Soon after, the smallpox rash
appears on exposed portions of the body: the face, forearms, wrists, palms, lower legs, feet, and
soles. Usually the rash spreads to all parts of the body within 24 hours.
As the rash appears, the fever usually falls and the person may start to feel better. The rash
becomes raised bumps on the third day of the rash. The bumps fill with a thick, opaque fluid and
often have a depression in the center that looks like a bellybutton. (CDC, 2004). This is a major
distinguishing characteristic of smallpox that occurs on the fourth day. Until scabs form over the
bumps, fever often will rise

Random Forest (RF) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) are two machine learning approaches that
has been successfully implemented in several studies and resulted in the significantly better results

RF is the ensemble classification technique based on the many random decision trees classifiers.
Decision tree is the classification approach that relate the target point to the predictor based on
the simple decision criteria. Decision tree can easily become unstable and result in the very
complex decision boundaries, therefore Random forests are used to improve the accuracy of the
prediction and also controls the over fitting cite{Thomas}. It has been shown that a large number

26. How Insects Are Affected By Different Food And...
Animal behavior can be defined as how animals respond to different environmental inducements
(Schussler 2014). Furthermore, by studying how animal s react to these stimulus we can
determine what shapes an animals behavior. In addition, the way an insect travels can define how
prosperous or how non prosperous an insect will be in finding vital resources such as finding
nutrients, reproducing, and their habitat location (Romero et. al. 2010). One interesting question is
how insects are affected by different food and environmental ques. Based upon earlier research
conducted by Stephen P. Yanoviak, insects prefer salt when compared against to sugar because
they are less exposed to salt. (Sanders 2008). For that reason, in this study we are investigating how
the flour beetle(Tribolium spp.) is affected by a variety of food resources. From earlier research
conducted on ground beetles, the researchers found that beetles feast on a variety of food sources
(Lovei Sunderland, 1996). The reason we are studying this is because we believe that the type food
sourceplays a dynamic role in flour beetle behavior. One question that lead us to perform this
study is that food is a vital resource that beetles must have to survive. We wanted to see what food
sources is most influential and why. This study was focused on how beetle behavior is influenced
by a variety of food sources. We conducted two test in this study. We based our first hypothesis
off
of earlier research on the topic.

Jane Austen s Emma
Beautiful dresses, passionate romances, elegant parties, a general state of leisure and happiness
these are only a few of the idealistic views of the nineteenth century. In her novel, Emma, Jane
Austen paints a much more realistic picture of the ins and outs of high society in England of the
1800 s. Through the presumptions and pride of the characters of heroine, Emma Woodhouse, and
secondary character, Mrs. Elton, Austen presents a stark critique of the social assumptions and
diplomatic maneuvering so common of the society of her time, however, by the end of the novel,
Austen s critique is made clear by a subtle foil of these two characters Emma having been the only
one of the two to learn her lesson. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This concept of Harriet being Emma s toy is made even clearer when Emma paints a likeness of
Harriet. Austen tells that Emma embellishes the painting as she meant to throw in a little
improvement to the figure, to give a little more height and considerably more elegance (55). In
doing this, Emma completes her re creation, for now she has formed Harriet s demeanor and
given her a new physical image as well. As if this were not enough, Emma also reigns over
Harriet s love life. After Harriet is proposed to by Mr. Martin, whom the reader is left to assume
that she actually does love, Emma talks her into refusing the proposal and denying her feelings
for him. It may be said that Harriet is too submissive in all matters with Emma, but certainly
Emma s class superiority to Harriet s demanded respect. But this is the very thing that Emma takes
advantage of as she tells Harriet that in marrying Mr. Martin, she would be forfeiting Hartfield,
Emma s home, because Emma could not stoop so low as to be in acquaintance with a farmer and
his wife. This near dictatorship over Harriet is a constant theme of their relationship for the majority
of the novel.
The relationship between Emma and Harriet is in many ways paralleled in that of Mrs. Elton and
Jane Fairfax, who, like Harriet, has no roots to claim, and is viewed by Mrs. Elton as being in great
need of a superior lady to guide her. Of Jane s

Metaphors and Repetition in Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
In Dylan Thomas Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, the speaker is a son talking to his
aging father and pleading with him to fight against death. The son knows that death is the
inevitable end to every life, but feels one should not give up to death too easily. By using metaphor,
imagery, and repetition, Thomas reinforces the son s message that aging men see their lives with
sudden clarity and realize how they might have lived happier, more productive lives. These men rail
against fate, fighting for more time to set things right.

because they feel their words have not been adequate enough to touch or illuminate others. The son
creates a visual image of the inadequacy wise men feel upon realizing their words have not

not die peacefully. These men despair that their feeble deedsdid not accomplish enough. Even
though they were good men, they feel they could have done so much more if given the time.
The son next tells his father how wild and grave men also struggled with death. Wild men spent
their lives frivolously, wishing time on its way. They learn when it is too late that they hurried
time too fast and now they cannot recapture what they so wantonly spent. Their lives were
foolishly wasted. The son also mentions grave or serious men who review their lives with a
swift lucidity when death is upon them. These solemn, sober men now realize life could have
been more joyous had they been a little more blind. If life is taken a little less seriously, one could
blaze like meteors and be gay.
Repetition at the end of each stanza is effectively used to reinforce the message to fight back
against death. The son implores his father to hang on any way he can and begs him to use joy or
tears or anger to remain in this life. Other men, be they wise or frivolous, serious or

cost of training and developing employees should be considered (Steele, 2009). This is essential
since a firm cannot invest beyond its means. Fourthly, there is a need to prepare trainers adequately.

Many people are on their own route towards what they consider receiving or claiming an
education. Whether it be a formal or informal education, we all approach obstacles that keep us
away from a direction we may have our mind or even our heart set on. In this essay, I will describe
my experiences in which my education has brought me close to losing my temper and self
confidence.
I used to groom the knots of her black and white coat that would pile up on her belly. But, one
day, I remember coming across a ball like lump under her skin. I moved it around to see if it
bothered her, but she just lay there with her belly up, waiting for me to finish. The next morning,
my dad and I took her to the vet and found out they were benign tumors, but should be removed
before they could turn into something more serious. My family struggled to find the funds to
remove the lumps. My love for animals, and particularly for my dog, Lyn Yang, quickly turned
into dreams of being able to remove the lumps myself. But at that point, I was helpless. I thought,
maybe one day, I d be a veterinarian and able to rid animals of their problems.
That was the beginning of the dream.
Growing up, I mostly stuck by my parents and they didn t stimulate my interest in animals. Even
with all the time we spent at the vet, I never thought to speak to a veterinarian. What did I know
about job shadowing? I now realize the importance of having real life role models, and someone to
speak to about my goals and aspirations. It s like Sonia Sotomayor said, When a young person,
even a gifted one, grows up without proximate living examples of what she may aspire to become,
her goal remains abstract.
In those days, in my environment, my dream to become a veterinarian gradually diminished. So
much diminished during my teenage years. I found my mind shrinking. I could feel my dream
getting smaller and smaller. Instead of choosing a profession that could drive me, I let me
community drive me instead and it got the best of me.

If John goes the large business route, he will be able to raise the franchising cost. This move would
really get Dual Pane s name out there, but there would also be a bigger risk. The quality that Dual
Pane has worked so hard to achieve could potentially be compromised by these larger businesses. It
would also be more difficult to successfully pitch this idea to a huge company and persuade them to
heavily invest in something that would seem small scale to them.
On the other hand, if he markets to small businesses, Dual Pane will more easily be able to keep
its reputation as a quality restoration business. The company likely would not get national
recognition, but it would be easier to franchise to individuals. It would also be easier to manage the
relationships between the franchisor and the franchisees. The main downside to this alternative is
the fact that John would have to charge a much lower price to these franchisees.
Decision
In order to keep its reputation of a small, quality business, Dual Pane will franchise to individuals
in the Massachusetts area. This will, of course, mean that Grayson will have to charge a lower
price for this franchising opportunity, but he will also be able to keep his original vision of being
all about quality. This alternative is much less risky than marketing to large businesses and with the
uniqueness of this machine Dual Pane is practically guaranteed to be a success.

43. William Shakespeare s Vampire Bat
Final Assignment Part 2 by Brandy Mearnic
Vampire Bat
The vampire bat also comes from a Subfamily called desmodontinae. There are three different
types of bat species: The common vampire bat, hairy legged vampire bat and white winged
vampire bat. These three different species are mostly native to the New World, but can be found in
parts of Mexico and Brazil, Chile and Argentina.
Their main source of food is blood. Instead of sucking the blood to feed on they make a small cut
with their teeth and then lick up the blood from the fresh wound. While feeding, they can feed for
up to 30 minutes without waking the animal they are feeding on up.
They have a short muzzle and instead of a nose leaf, they have exposed (or naked) pads with u
shaped grooves at the tip of the nose. The common vampire bat has thermoreceptors that help the
bat to locate areas where the blood flows close in it s prey. Vampire bats have small ears and very
short tail. The front teeth of a vampire bat are designed for cutting and the back teeth are smaller
than other bats. A bat s brain processes sound and can detect breathing sounds of other animals
sleeping. This part of the brain is called the inferior colliculus. Mostly all bats have lost the ability
to walk on the ground, but there are some that still run while on the ground. Their wings are much
more powerful than their legs, though.
Bats live in colonies is complete, dark places such as caves, wells, trees and some buildings. The

45. Ethical and Legal Concerns for Emergency Room Physicians...
There are unique ethical and legal obligations of the Emergency Room Physician. Commonly faced
issues include patient dumping , organ donation, and Do Not Resuscitate orders. These issues have
ethical and legal considerations for the Emergency Room Physician in regards to their
responsibilities and actions.
The ethical right for individuals to have access to health care already has a form of legal binding
within the United States as seen in the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act. In
1986, Congress passed the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), which
forbids Medicare participating hospitals from dumping patients out of emergency departments
(Pozgar, 2010, p. 221). The act provides that:

Because of the EMTALA, therefore, much more than emergency room care is provided regardless
of ability to pay (Menzel, 2011, p. 84).
Hospitals are not only required to care for emergency patients, but they also are required to do so
in a timely fashion (Pozgar, 2010, p. 272). Hospitals are expected to notify specialty on call
physicians when their particular skills are required in the emergency department. An on call
physician who fails to respond to a request to attend a patient can be liable for injuries suffered
by the patient because of his or her failure to respond (Pozgar, 2010, p. 271). Under the doctrine of
Respondeat Superior, hospitals are also liable for the actions of physicians working or on call in
their emergency department.
The need for organ donations creates another ethical dilemma for Emergency Room Physicians.
Obtaining organs from emergency room patients has long been considered off limits in the United
States because of ethical and logistical concerns (Stein, 2010). The shortage of organs available for
transplant has caused many patients die while waiting. A pilot project from the federal government
has begun promoting an alternative that involves surgeons taking organs, within minutes, from
patients whose hearts have stopped beating but who have not been declared brain dead (Stein,
2010). The Uniform Determination of Death Act

We expect this type of integration in supply chain planning in a highly differentiated organization to
require quite a broad and explicit cross functional reach. Although particular cross functional
interfaces have been developed e.g., marketing and logistics (Ellinger, 2000; Stank, Daugherty, and
Ellinger, 1999), and purchasing and manufacturing (Fawcett and Magnan, 2002) very few
organizations have achieved the

broader reaching integration that consistently develops multi functional plans that are executed in a
coordinated fashion (Barratt, 2004; Fawcett and Magnan, 2002). While researchers have partially
addressed the roles and infrastructure required for integration, most of their proposals result from
attempts to address coordination (e.g., Celikbas, Shanthikumar, and Swaminathan, 1999; Chen,
2005; Porteus and Whang, 1991) or from organizational level analysis across firms (e.g., Lawrence
and Lorsch, 1986; O Leary Kelly and Flores, 2002). Furthermore, very little empirical research has
been done on functioning integration approaches (Malhotra and Sharma, 2002) and a detailed
understanding of interdepartmental integration based on micro level data has yet to be established

48. Living With Asperger Essay
Living with aspergers
By: Richard Gambardella
Living with Asperger s can be interesting and like everything it has its ups and downs. The most
important tool is to understand yourself. People have managed to convince themselves that they
are going nowhere in life and that they are as good as dead. Now people all have these emotions its
apart of nature. While emotions can cause someone latent to completely bloom it can also cause
that latent person to stay dormant and unfulfilled. Above all emotions can help the person discover
who they really are. Understanding your emotion is a huge thing. Emotions originally helped us
survive by producing reactions in are brain to threats, reward and everything in the environment in

But having these things does not excuse a child or adult from coping with them it just simple
means that dealing with these realities will be hard. Having Asperger s often manages to

understand daily experiences and how to handle being with other children who think completely
different then you. Unfortunately trying to blend in can make someone with Asperger s stick
out even more. Consequently, in the society we live in people prey on the ones that stick out.
One cannot stress how important regular training for the Asperger mind is. A really good way to
teach a person with Asperger s to cope is threw regular meditation and exercise. Even this though
sometimes is not enough so you want to try and find a hobby that can provide comfort for that
person. This can help stop the person being swamped with all the obsessive thoughts. These
distractions allow a distraction and a way out of the constant worrying and depression. Being
preoccupied is a coping strategy that works for the majority of people no matter what disorder you

49. A Christian View Of The Bible
I believe in a Liberal Evangelical view in terms of the authority of scripture. I am Evangelical in
that I believe that the bible is infallible in all that is trying to affirm, and that the central narrative
can be relatable, and inspiring to every person, and every people group around the world. This is
because the Holy Spirit is involved in this process from both the compositional, and readability
aspect. I am liberal in that I cannot affirm that the bibleis the only written work of God. I can only
affirm that is the only fully infallible written scriptural work. The issues of psuedonymity, the
Synoptic Problem, Genesis 1 11, and the rewritten Bible have all been noticed as problematic areas
for one s hermeneutic. This paper will largely be a presentation of my hermeneutical implications
through these issues.
I do not believe the issue of psuedonymity to be a problematic area for what I believe in terms of
the inspiration of scripture. The authors of these epistles can still be inspired even though they may
not be apostles. They may have learned under an apostle, and may therefore be able to write using
their name because they can respond in a way that the apostle himself would. Also, by writing as
apostles, the credibility of these authors instantly becomes more authoritative to the first century
audience. Lastly, these books went through the intensive canonization process that all of the new
testament books went through, which is further proof of their inspiration.

subjects within our reading that were astonishing to me however the most surprising was that
kindergarten is not actually mandatory in most states, Vermont included. Early education is
important in providing a successful future for our children therefore, this is notable. I understand
that people have different theories about how early educationshould be applied and the freedom for
parents to decide how to do so is important nevertheless, parents also need to be educated on their
options plus successfulness of those option and theories. Theories being another topic that can be
overwhelming. We are reading about many theories

52. The Three Cities Within Toronto By David Hulchanski
Introduction
Throughout David Hulchanski s article, titled The Three Cities Within Toronto, he divides Toronto
into three cities by classifying neighbourhoods according to individual income. He describes the
city as dynamic, as neighbourhoods have changed through the years between the different classes.
A major factor that causes this change is gentrification, where low income neighbourhoods are
renovated, which results in replacing the low income residents with wealthier individuals. In
contrast, the population of low income neighbourhoods has also increased as the population of
middle income neighbourhoods have decreased. As a result of these changes, Torontois increasing
the number of high income neighbourhoods and low income neighbourhoods, phasing out the
middle class. Hulchanski accurately describes polarization through the process of gentrification and
by creating more cost friendly neighbourhoods for families throughout Toronto.
Neighbourhood Scale The field work site is located on Weston Rd., by Highway 401, in between
Wilson Ave. and Sheppard Ave. W. This site contains many houses, local places of worship, and
convenience stores. Most of the homes are owned by families rather than individuals because of the
elementary school and the lack of condominiums. According to Hulchanski, common ... Show more

54. Normal Business Contracts
As in normal business contracts, offer should be first existing between two parties alongside the
acceptance. Offer is accepting the terms of negotiation and discussion after an invitation to
treat. The external look of an offer and invitation of treat sometimes look the same and hard to
differentiate but different by the core means of commercial law. So what is difference between
offer and invitation of treat? As Guenter Heinz Treitel defines offer as an expression of
willingness to contract on certain terms, made with the intention that it shall become binding as
soon as it is accepted by the person to whom it is addressed, the offeree 1. It is a statement of
terms and conditions of that will be passed to the offeree. It might be passed through letters,
newspaper and advertisement. While Andrew Burrows defines the invitation of treat as an
expression of willingness to negotiate. A person making an invitation of treats does not intend to
bind as soon as it is acceptable by the person to whom the statement is addressed 2 The difference
between an offer and invitation of treat is that if offeree accepts an offer from the offerer, both
created a bound of contract while if supplier accepts an invitation of treat from the client to
negotiate and discuss terms they created an offer. So the difference is between both subjects is the
legal binds of contract formation. It depends also solely on the promisor s intention. Among the
history, several case studies prove
