Did you know that Stand by Me a academy award winning film directed by Rob Steiner was based
of a novel called The Body by Stephen King ? In fact in both the novel and film the plot is the same
but there are some small changes. The plot is about four twelve year olds who embark into a
journey to discover the body of Ray Brower. During their journey each boy learns something
extraordinary about themselves and about there friends. The main conflict in the novel is that
there is another group of older boys who are also searching for the body. The novel was released

In the novel the setting of the story takes place in a small town named Castle Rock that is
located in Maine in the year 1960 and in the film the setting is Castle Rock, Oregon in 1959.
This difference would be considered a minor change because it is only one year apart from the
original date in the novel and the change of the state does not really matter. Adding to differences
is that in the novel in chapter seven there is a story that is told by Gordie called Stud City in the
film it is not shown or mentioned. This would be considered a major change because the story
shows how smart and mature Gordie is for a twelve year old and it is important for the build up
of the character but it is excluded from the film. Another difference is that in the novel when the
boys find the body and they confront the other boys Chris pulls the gun out to make them leave.
In the film it is Gordie who takes out the gun to make them leave. This is a major change because
in the novel it helped make the ending make more sense and helped Chris buildup as a character.
In addition to differences in the novel when the boys are on there journey they go into the pond to
swim because they want to. In the film they go into the pond because they have to in order to get

There have been a number of studies done to show how the amount of space that is available in a
classroom can have an effect on the behavior of the students and the overall environment of the
classroom. In 2003, Duncanson found that classroom space impacts how teachers and students

pathways and look cluttered. In part, it was found that this situation was caused by the large

Good problem solvers have different approaches and characteristic as compared to non problem
solvers (Whimbey, 1982). The characteristics that I possess are:
Accuracy and double checking: As a good problem solver, I am concerned with accuracy. I always
check and recheck, the problem if necessary. I always reread instructions and avoid guessing. In
contrast, a poor problem solver is sloppy and inaccurate. They may misunderstand the problem or
the process of solving it. Most of the time, they lack the slow, step by step approach.

opportunities, a chance to learn something new, to grow, to succeed where others have failed, or

Recently there has been an increase in the number of people running barefoot because the notion
that it helps reduce injuries and improves performance. Running without shoes prevents the heel
from striking first, which is better running form, this is one of the primary reasons many people
run barefoot. This study aims to research the oxygen cost of running barefoot verse running with
shoes. The study researched running on both a treadmill and on the ground. The participants of
this study were five males and five females who were healthy, recreational runners. A
recreational runner was defined as someone who ran at least 16 km each week for at least 6
months (Hanson, Berg, Deka, Meendering, Ryan, 2011, p. 402). Four experimental conditions
were examined in this study: 1) barefoot on treadmill, 2) shod on treadmill, 3) barefoot
overground, and 4) shod overground (Hanson et al., 2011, p. 401). Each participant was tested in a
