White Privilege In Education Essay
The education system is notorious for teaching its own agenda, and not necessarily all the facts of
a situation. For many years, the education system on all levels has been teaching students what it
means to have privilege, and how life would be if they did not. Usually, the white students are the
subject of privilege, and the minority student are the subject of life with racism, and without
privilege. White privilege has been an underlying lesson to students for generations, and contributes
to the power and superiority white people feel over everyone else. When the Michael Brown
shooting occurred, it opened up many people s eyes to the inequalities that are being perpetrated by
the very educationsystem meant to teach students how to live... Show more content on

This is not done in conspicuous ways, though. In both subtle and overt ways, the hidden curriculum
works to re produce and re inforce the inequalities that exist in society. Studies show that streaming
practices, teacher expectation and pedagogy, as well as the curriculum itself, all work to
disadvantage certain racialized and minoritized youth on the basis of race, gender and class (Dei et.
al. 2004. 94). First of all, there is the hidden curriculum that is taught by the teachers. This
curriculum would consist of, for example, historical facts being distorted in order to hear only one
side of the story. In many history classes, students receive the Canadian or American perspective,
and that perspective is of white people who wrote the history books in order to favour certain facts.
It also includes the way the teachers actually treat students. Positive and negative reinforcement
impacts the students psych in a way that will leave a lasting impression. If a teacher praises a white
student constantly for doing a job well done, but does not treat a non white student in the same way,
that will leave the impression that the white student is better and smarter, and that pushes the
hidden curriculum. Next, the curriculum works to re inforce the problems society already has. In
the work force, it is a common known fact that

How To Avoid Bucky
It had been a long and tiring night. Tony drank his consciousness away and refused to let Bucky
near him. Some couple of hours had passed, he had eaten and napped several times, always
making sure to stay clear of Bucky. He didn t want Bucky to see him at his worst, he didn t want to
say something that he didn t mean, and he really just didn t wantto be scolded which would ve ended
up with him saying something that he didn t mean anyways. So he thoughtit best to just stay as far
away from him as possible.
He managed to successfully avoid Bucky for about four hours before he accidentally bumped into
him, having just woken up from another one of his extremely short naps, his vision was a bit hazy
and his eyes were droopy. Rubbing his eyes

Relationship Between Indians And Europeans
When the Europeans landed in North America in the 1600s, there were already Indians there.
Over the 200 years between 1600 and 1800, there where many different relations that took place
between the Indians and Europeans. These relations include; political, religious, social, cultural,
military, and economic. In my story map I am going to tell you about the politics of Indians and
Europeans between 1600 and 1800 from different colonies. The Chesapeake Colonies: Virginia
and Maryland What happened here was The House of Burgesses. Governor George Yeardley
arrived in Virginia in April 1619 and announced that Virginia Company voted to abolish martial law.
With martial law gone, they decided to create a legislative assembly, which became the House of
Burgesses, which was the first legislative assembly in the American colonies. The laws and rules
were made by adult male landowners. In 1619 the colony divided into counties. In each county there
was a court, where landowners met to provide defense, judge legal case, and make local regulations.
The colony government and the county government slightly differed. In the colony government
there was an appointed governor, an appointed council and an elected assembly. In the county
government there were courts, militias, and local regulations. The Chesapeake colony had ongoing
problems with the Powhatan Indians. The Powhatan Indians did not like the colonist moving in on
their territory, which caused the Anglo Powhatan Wars. The war

The Met Essay
I joined the class for the trip to the Big Apple on the eve of Halloween. We departed from a
campus parking lot early Saturday morning. Our destination was the Metropolitan Museum of Art,
which is located at 82nd Street and Fifth Avenue. I had never been to the Met before and I was
very impressed. I wandered throughout the museum going from gallery to gallery until I was able
to find the two paintings that interested me the most.
The first painting to catch my eye was the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne, which was painted by
Albrecht Durer around 1519. The German artist lived from 1471 to 1528 and is considered by
many the greatest German Renaissance artist of them all. Albrecht Durer used an oil medium on a
wooden support to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The artist s palette had a fairly wide range of colors when painting this artwork. The use of many
different colors makes this a polychromatic work of art. He used a few warm colors along with a
lot of black and white. Most of the areas of this painting that are painted with warm colors are low
in saturation. This is shown in the clothing of the woman holding the child.
It seems the source of light comes from the top left hand corner of the painting. The light source
causes the three figures to have a high intensity level. This is shown on the child s face, which is
not only the focal point of this picture but also the highlight. Durer also used chiaroscuro to show
the depth in the painting. The shadow on the woman with the child makes the painting appear to be
three dimensional. After seeing how representational a painting can be I decided to take a look at
the opposite end of the spectrum.
The other painting I chose is titled Stepping Out. Roy Lichtenstein did this painting in 1978. He
worked as a commercial artist as well as a graphic designer before becoming popular as a Pop
Artist. Lichtenstein used a similar medium, which was oil and magna, but chose to paint his
picture on canvas instead of wood. While Stepping Out is still a portrait it is unlike Durer `s work
in that it is an abstract artwork. The male form in the painting is fairly realistic while the female
form is very surreal.
Lichtenstein also used

Twelfth Night Trickster Quotes
In the play Twelfth Night , Shakespeare presents many tricksters. In fact, the majority of the
characters can somewhat be characterized as a trickster. Some characteristics that you would see
in a trickster are that they are intelligent, ambiguous, deceitful, and self serving. In the play Twelfth
Night some characters that you would classify as tricksters are Viola, Feste, Maria, Sir Toby
Belch, and Sir Andrew Aguecheek. Some tricksters are of higher class/rank while others are of
lower class/servants. In Twelfth Night, the tricksters are used to develop conflict, challenge social
order, and create comedy.
One of the most important tricksters of Twelfth Night would have to be Viola. After being
shipwrecked into a new country, Viola completely... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His character helped create the festive atmosphere with his singing and dancing and excessive
drinking. Sir Andrew is very fond of Olivia, however he knows that he doesn t have a chance. Sir
Toby keeps encouraging him to keep trying with Olivia but he s discouraged because he knows
she has feelings for Cesario. Sir Andrew is so moved by Olivia that he was willing to pick a
sword fight with Cesario but then backs down when Cesario is prepared and ready to go. Sir
Andrew backing down from the dual against Cesario goes to show that strength and masculinity
can be masked, as Cesario is really Viola in disguise. This is another example of how Sir Andrew
s main purpose in the story is just for the laughs. Aguecheek is one of the duller, unintelligent
characters of Twelfth Night. It s obvious Aguecheek isn t very smart because Maria mocks him
without him noticing. An you part so, mistress, I would I might never draw sword again. Fair
lady, do you think you have fools in hand, says Sir Andrew to Maria. Sir, I have not you by the
hand. Maria is mocking Sir Andrew by calling him a fool but he is so gullible that he doesn t catch
it. Sir Andrew is one of the many characters of the play that aim towards an unrealistic

Mark Morris Dance Group Spring Dance Analysis
What do you think the dance was about?
I watched Mark Morris Dance Group Spring,Spring,Spring (excerpt 1) and I thought the dance
was about spring and each person represented a flower or plant blooming in the season. All of the
colorful pants men were wearing could have represented the different colored leaves on the trees.
There was a part in the dance where they were all spinning in a circle and there was a gap between
two girls. I found this part interesting because it could have represented how in spring, nothing is
ever set in stone and things are always changing and the hole in the circle may have represented the
gap for change and improvement.
What did you like and/or dislike about the dancing?
I liked how they weren t always doing

JESUS AND A CANAANITE WOMAN
The Bible told us that a Canaanite woman from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon came to Jesus for the
healing of her daughter. The daughter of these Canaanite woman was being tormented by demons
and she cried to Jesus to heal her daughter. These Canaanite woman was not a Hebrew Jew, but she
was a gentile, an outsider, because Jesus told her I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of
Israel, meaning that She was not an Israelite Hebrew Jew. First, these Canaanite woman
recognized that Jesus is Lord, she said have mercy on me, O Lord, then secondly she addressed
Him by His Messianic title as the son of David, and thirdly she boldly and persistently cried out to
Jesus to save her daughter from a demonic bondage

General Strain Theory
In 2016 alone, there were over 200,000 arrests made involving white collar crimes (UCR, 2016).
Although white collar crime makes up less than 1% of all arrests made, it can cost its victims
upwards of trillions of dollars in fiscal damages each year (ACFE, 2014). Despite its detrimental
cost to its victims, very few theories are capable of explaining why white collar crimetakes place.
General strain theory is one of the few theories capable of explaining the phenomenon of white
collar crime, naming the presence of negative stimuli and goal blockage, among other factors, as
central causes of criminality, despite the background or demographic of the offender. In The Wolf

Rothschild for six months, Jordan received a promotion to a position as a stockbroker, and was
promptly laid off the same day due to the Black Monday crash. This situation in particular,
placed an enormous amount of strain on Jordan as a positive stimulus was removed, via the loss
of his job, and a negative stimulus was added, via pressure to provide for himself and his wife.
These were added to the strain already being placed on Jordan through the disjuncture of his
expectations and reality. In addition to the clustering of these negative events, losing a job was of
high magnitude to Jordan as he viewed his position as a stockbroker as essential to the removal
of another strain in his life, the gap between his desired wealth and his actual lower middle class
lifestyle. Although Jordan was able to obtain a job as a stockbroker in a relatively short time, the
effect of his recent unemployment impacted his decision to use illegal selling tactics when he
returned to work. The combination of these factors led to feelings of disappointment, frustration
and fear within Jordan, ultimately leading him to the use of illegal pump and dump selling
techniques, in which a stockbroker provides a client with false insider information in order to
intentionally drive up the value of an often, worthless stock, and convince the client to invest

True Equality for Women at the Workplace
People are judged by their gender, which often, in many situations, lead to bias decisions and
unfairness within business organizations for women. Women are often not held up to the standard
of a man in the business workforce, which leaves them with fewer position choices outside the
norm. Most jobs that womenhave are not demanding upon the body and require little to no strength.
The failure to understand adaptation by the government has caused many reforms in the past, but
there are still many flaws in the hiring system that often leave women asking questions and puzzled
by the bias decisions of men in charge of the management of positions. The fight for equality
amongst women has been going on for many years. Although women are... Show more content on

A Summary Of Women Effrage
Gender gap cannot be dismantled by only amending laws against sex discrimination, but when it
enables all to the same share in law. Women need to break through barriers to be on the path to
success. Women are not men and need not compete with men to show her vitality. Women bleeds
and is not a choice, this does not mean men need to bleed. Women require challenging patriarchy
rather than each other. Akhila had a barrier in her life of her fears to do things for herself. Fear
can give no power, but facing truth sets a being free. Her emotions are not to be squished but
nurtured well. Wearing masks one after another to please the society only weakens the natural
energy of a female. We need not cover up our insecurity from the world. Women should stop dying
from things that happened in past. It is ok to be imperfect, which is human. Women do not require
finding their identity in the comparison with men. When a womanstands up to voice for herself, she
raises up for all the women globally.

How Does Edgar Allan Poe Use Humor
Horror and Humor the Two H s Horror and humor, two words that start with h that could either
make you cry from laughing, or cry from terror. Poe uses both humor and horror in many
different ways in order to create the setting. Humor is used in many different ways, such as a
friend who only keeps track of one thing that you say, for instance, the friend who keeps shouting
Amontillado! Everyone knows someone who, when feeling under the weather still insists that they
are feeling peachy. Poe also uses that in his story to create a relatable, joke that mostly everyone
can relate to. He also creates the setting of horror with vivid pictures of different things inside your
head. But right as the story has a bit of thrill he turns back to humor again to lighten up the mood....

Throughout the story, whenever the narrator would even come close to saying Amontillado, his
friend would cheerfully interrupt, by shouting the word first. By placing this in the story it can
lighten up the mood after he had just put some horror into it. For instance, Once more let me
implore you to return. No? Then I must positively leave you. But I will first render you all the
little attention in my power. Then goes on to say, The Amontillado! ejaculated my friend, not yet
recovered from his last astonishment. (The Cask of Amontillado) Most readers should be able to
relate to this in their own personal way. Such as a mom remembering that every time she would

Insight Video Analysis
The Inupiaq people have the same ideology as many other north American tribes when it comes to
the intertwined relationship with nature and the supernatural. As mention in the insight videos, the
Inupiaq think of nature as a living person that has a soul, therefor they treat nature with respect and
try to not harm it. In the insight video they say that they believe in that nature might present itself
as different object and or sometimes an actual person. Moreover, they believe that animals have
magical (supernatural) powers and that they can hear and understand human words, they also
believe that every animal has a human form and you can see it only when the animal wants you to

This was the goal of the video game for people to understand their heritage and learn about their
beliefs. I do believe that the game did a good job of communicating the values mention in the
insight videos because every challenge that Nuna and the fox faced had a moral or reason that they
were facing it in that moment. An example would be when Nuna and the fox forgot to respectthe
little mouse, they had to faced the big mouse and get out of his cave afterwards, the little mouse
comes to them when they are canoeing away and they lift of the mouse out of the water and place
him in their canoe showing that they learned their lesson to respect every animal even a mouse. In
the video, he says that you only use animals for food you don t mess with them and that is a key
element about their way of life. Another example of how the game presented the Inupiaq s values
of having a special relationship with nature other than Nuna s and the fox relationship is by
demonstrating that you can overcome all of the obstacles in the game without harming or killing
any animals or plants (other than manslayer since he represented greed and he killed the fox.)
Throughout their journey Nuna and the fox would run into the owl man who would tell them
stories and why things were happening, this concept is apart of the Inupiaq values of sharing
stories. Therefore, I think that the game did a good job in communicating with the player the Inupiat
s values seen in the insight

The Berlin Wall s Impact On Economic, Social And...
The Berlin wall had a highly significant impact on the economic, social and political relations
between West and East Europe. It stood from 1961 1989 as a physical reminder of that divide, a
daily reminder of the divide that still influences the nation today, and a physical barrier in which
138 East Germans died trying to cross. So dire was the Berlin Wallthat Heinrich Albertz, an aide to
West Berlin Mayor, compared it to as if; They are cutting up a city, cutting into living flesh without
anesthesia . Thus it can be observed that so high was its importance, that only after the Berlin wall
was abolished in that the cold warwas finally coming to an end and so traumatising was its presence
that Berlin has yet to fully recover.
In order to come to a conclusion about the impact of the Berlin wall, one must first understand the
context of which it came to be. At the end of the second world war, the disintegration of German
central authority allowed allied powers to take control of Germany. During the February of 1945,
the allied victors held the Yalta conference, a committee focused on the dismemberment of
Germany, in order to come to a conclusion on the current German question . This can be regarded as
the defining moment of which the division between East and West Europe became apparent. As
victors struggled with their losses and the defeated nations lost international favor, the Soviet Union
and USA began a power struggle to become the new global powerhouse. The Potsdam

Die Another Day Rhetorical Devices
Adult Elements: Garo takes liberty showing off the human body, particularly men in this show.
Garo is definitely an equal opportunity offender when it comes to selling sex, with almost every
episode containing a scene with one of the protagonists in bed with a woman, unafraid to show
short suggestive positions short of softporn (think Halle Berry s sex scene in Die Another Day
(2002)). While these conversations are meaningful, the setting might shy away some fans and can
definitely lead to an awkward situation if guests show up at the wrong moment. Language is
restrained, and while the entire show is certainly not a kids film, the adult themes present well
throughout the show.

Patriot Archetyp Context
The Patriot is a heart breaking movie that follows the journey of Benjamin Martin, a father of
seven children (Gabriel, Thomas, Margaret, Susan, Nathan, Samuel, and William) and an ex
warrior who fought against the British army during the Revolutionary War, while carrying the
burden of a parent. It is filled with clash of ideals, where Benjamin s priority to save his children
from experiencing the bitter taste of war met with the reality that his country needed him to act.
The story began with Benjamin s return to his hometown. The members of the family were
introduced one by one. The situation between the Continental Army and the England government
was revealed to be getting more complicated each days, as the town s people were being forced to
pick side for the upcoming war. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lord Cornwallis retreated to another area, only to be completely defeated later, indicating the
falling action of the story. He went back to his village along with his children and Charlotte to start
their life over, marking the resolution of the movie.
The Patriot is situated in at least three different archetypal settings. The first one is the underworld
/hell, as can be seen from the battlefield, where the blood of the innocents were spilt. The next one
is the garden, which is pictured as Benjamin s village, after the war is over. And the third one is
the castle, which the slaves village that Benjamin s family ran to fit the image of.
We can also conclude the symbol that can be derived from the movie is the national flag of the
United States of America. It can be seen from the battle scene when the Continental Army was
pushed back by the Great Britain Army. Benjamin took over the flag from one of the retreating
soldier and continued to fight, gained the upper hand of the fight and ended up winning the war.
The flag here can be interpreted as the symbol of power, courage, and

Modern Landscape Design Is The Arrangement Of Environments...
Modernism, in the context of landscape design, is a result of forms and functions that reflect the
need for outdoor living spaces that enhance contemporary lifestyles. As Garrett Eckbo, one of the
central figures in modern landscape architecture, said, landscape design is the arrangement of
environments for people.
Contemporary garden design tends to focus on scale as opposed to formal landscape designs that
are based on axial relationships. It also foregoes the more classic landscape design forms and
larger scale from Greek, Roman, and classical architecture traditions. This design motif became
popular in the 1950 s baby boom, particularly in California where weather and lifestyle was very
conducive to this innovative style.
In modern landscape design, boundaries between areas of color, textures and shapes are undefined
or conversely, sharply defined. Color and composition create the emotional response. Combining
freshness and flair, these designs use dramatic geometric shapes to create a point of view that is
fluid and natural. Water and light are often used, as in artfully lit outdoor water fountains, to
enhance the sensual loveliness and liveliness. The designs are arresting, both close up and far away.
Form and Function in Modern Landscape Design
As the maxim says, form follows function. Modern landscape design is an aesthetic that shows
only what is necessary while often leaving surfaces exposed. The simplicity of modern design
reveals itself in that every form

name, is a poignant tale of lost love and the power of guilt. Set in England, 1935, young lovers
Cecilia Tallis (Kiera Knightley) and Robbie Turner (James McAvoy) are torn apart by a lie
constructed by Cecilia s 13 year old sister, Briony (Saoirse Ronan), and all of the characters must
face the consequences. The film recounts a story of burning passion, while encompassing the
catastrophe of war, the concept of growing up and the intense emotion of guilt. The 5 minute
tracking shot on Dunkirk beach encapsulates the devastation caused by the war. Guilt is another
significant aspect of Atonement which is portrayed in the dialogue used before the death of... Show

As a nurse at St Thomas hospital, she is instructed to make a patient feel comfortable as his
inevitable death looms. In his delusional state, the fading Luc asks Briony Do you love me? .
This is significant use of dialogue, as it expresses to the audience that Luc has a girl that he
loves at home; someone he hoped to get back to, who is waiting for him. This is a clear parallel
to Cecilia and Robbie; two young lovers separated, never knowing if they ll see each other again.
While Briony holds the hand of the dying Luc, she is reminded of the hurt she has caused these
important people in her life. When the confused Luc asks Did she [your sister] finally marry that
man she was so in love with? , close shots of Briony s face are used to convey the overwhelming
guilt she feels for her own sister Cecilia, as she is the reason for her failed love. Luc s death is also
foreshadowing the death of Robbie later in the film. Guilt is also felt by Briony in her old age,
as she narrates in her television interview My sister and Robbie were never able to have the time
together they both so longed for, and deserved. Which ever since I ve... I ve always felt I

Transcendentalism And Its Impact On Society
He taught himself to read and write by forming letters in charcoal on the kitchen floorboards
(Brown). He strove to teach himself so that he could be a teacher to others as his revolutionary
ideas on education changed how we look at education even today. He began to dive more and more
into the world of Transcendentalism. He was a husband a father and a teacher who created a wave
through America that still has rippling effects today. Much more came out of this movement
including his effect that he had on his daughter who herself spread transcendental ideas through her
writings. This man was Amos Bronson Alcott, and he was a reformer of society looking to abide by
Transcendental beliefs. Alcott played one of the biggest roles in causing Transcendentalism to be
still present today as he embodies the ideals behind Transcendentalism. Alcott took the philosophies
of Thoreau and Emerson and instilled them into the world of the educational system by adding
many different activities to the curriculum, stressing self reliance and self sacrifice to his students
and his daughter.
Alcott did his best to support his family, but his lecturing and writing were limited in their
effectiveness. He understood that what he was doing was an attempt to better society, and he
followed the Transcendental ideal of non conformity. The driving force of Transcendentalism was
in fact the people that felt these ideals were best for society. Men like Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry
David Thoreau, Amos

Essay On How Did Texas Fight In The Civil War
Fighting for What s Right (Or Believed to Be)
Way back when, the South had clashing opinions with the North. And like in most cases, the
disagreement turned into a war. The US was divided into the North and South; one side strongly
for slavery, and one strongly against. Everyone thought that they could live this way, divided, in
harmony, but they were wrong. Southern states began to secede, and a month later war broke out.
Why did Texans fight in the Civil War? The residents of Texas fought because they loved Texas,
they wanted to have states rights, and they wanted to protect slavery.

The people of Texas fought in the Civil War to preserve slavery. African race ... is mutually

Texans believed that slavery was right, and that Africans benefited from slavery. I think that this is
the most important reason that Texans fought because it s literally what divided the nation. If
everyone agreed on things regarding slavery, the country wouldn t have split and the American
Civil War would be non existent.
Texans fought in the Civil War because residents loved Texas, they felt a strong desire for states

if I had lived in Texas during the Civil War and I had to fight, I would fight because I love Texas.
However, if i didn t have to fight, I wouldn t because the South was fighting to preserve slavery
and I m against that. At the end of the day, we re all humans, no matter our race or skin

The Negative Effects Of Stress
Stress, what is it, how it Affects you and How to Deal With it

Stress, what is it, how it Affects you and How to Deal With it
Stress can have both positive and negative effects on your body. Stress is what gives a person that
last burst of energy in a competition. Stress is what keeps people up at night, what makes them
stray from their normal diet and it can even go as far as making someone physically ill.
What is stress? Stress is one s body s natural response to threats and pressure. Athletes feel stress
during any game or race, students feel stress before a big test or exam. Workers feel stress when
they are assigned to a big project or up for a promotion. Stress causes feelings of nervousness,
low energy, and even tenses us up and makes us feel on edge and easily irritable. When a person
is stressed out their adrenal gland kicks into overdrive causing high levels of adrenaline in the brain.
Distress is negative stress in a person s life. Examples of distress may include,
The death of a family member
The death of a lifelong friend
Separation from your spouse
The end of a long relationship Having money issues
If distress is not handled correctly it can lead to the feelings of hopelessness, irritability, and even
getting physically ill.
Eustress is the good stress in a person s life. Eustress can be caused by events such as
Entering into big tournaments
Being up for a promotion at work
The holiday seasons

Diversity Within The Taxonomic Group Of Lagormorpha
Diversity within and between species depends on evolution and evolutionary processes. This essay
seeks to analyze the origins and significance of diversity within the taxonomic group of
Lagormorpha, both within species and between species.
Origin of diversity within species
Inbreeding depression occurs when species inbreed to a point where the overall fitness of the
species decreases significantly. Slate and Pemberton studied how reduced heterozygosity affected
the sperm and gonads of wild rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) across the United Kingdom; they
considered 112 individuals as well as populations (2006). The study found an important relationship:
with a reduced heterozygosity, the production of normal sperm was also reduced (Slate and
Pemberton, 2006). It is important to note; the relationship s effect was found amongst individuals
not entire populations (Slate and Pemberton, 2006). To compile this data, the scientists measured
degrees of inbreeding with a molecular measure, using 29 microsatellite loci for each individual
male rabbit (Slate and Pemberton, 2006). This loci region is known to have a relationship with the
genes coding for inbreeding depression, although why is not completely understood (Slate and
Pemberton, 2006). Figure 2 Relationship between proportion of abnormal sperm and meant
heterozygosity. Graph taken from Slate and Pemberton, 2006. Graph A shows the relationship

Postulates of Dalton s Atomic Theory
The main points of Dalton s atomic theory, an explanation of the structure of matter in terms of
different combinations of very small particles, are given by the following postulates:
1. All matter is composed of indivisible atoms. An atom is an extremely small particle of matter that
retains its identity during chemical reactions.
2. An element is a type of matter composed of only one kind of atom, each atom of a given kind
having the same properties. Mass is one such property. Thus, the atoms of a given element have a
characteristic mass.

According to quantum mechanics, each electron in an atom is described by four different quantum
numbers, three of which (n, l, and ml) specify the wave function that gives the probability of

called an atomic orbital. An atomic orbital is pictured qualitatively by describing the region of space
where there is high probability of finding the electrons. The atomic orbital so pictured has a definite
shape. A fourth quantum number (ms) refers to a magnetic property of electrons called spin. We

Man Is The Real Man Essay
As we may know from our school lessons in Biology, the human brain is mostly dormant we use
only a tiny fraction of its potential. Although scientists know much more now about the workings
of the human brain than they did 30 years ago, there are still vast areas of brain that have remained
unexplored and still mysterious. And the reason for this is that those silent areas of the brainwere
created for supernatural purposes.
The gifts inherent in these parts of the brain were almost certainly used by a lot of Ancient mystics,
prophets, sages and wisemen and women as they could directly communicate with the Deities of
the Old and even understand the language of other creatures such as animals, plants and even
faefolks. However, years passed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are areas in man s nature that lie from man s physical senses and instruments but nevertheless
profoundly affect his body s well being. The great physician surgeon and Nobel prize winner, Dr.
Alexis Carrel, was humble enough to admit this fact in his monumental and highly readable book
called, Man, the Unknown.
Said Dr. Carrell:
Man, as known to the specialists, is far from being the concrete man, the real man. He is nothing but
a schema, consisting of other schemata built up by the techniques of each science... In fact, our
ignorance is profound... Immense regions of our inner world are still unknown.

to facilitate or hasten the process so we may reach the goal faster, which is to understand the
purpose our purpose, our mission and such. The gifts should ennoble the spirit and make us all
better human beings, better walker of the path we choose to follow. No other purpose of third eye
or the abilities is valid in my humble opinions, except that it leads us to the Higher Consciousness.

Type 4 Pili Research Paper
Bacterial pili have been well studied for their structure, function, and genetics. However, little is
known about the structure and function of archaeal pili. Current research has begun to focus on the
archaeal pilus and its relatedness to bacterial pili, particularly the bacterial type IV pilus. Using
genetic and microscopy techniques, these studies have shown comparative evidence for the
differences, as well as homology, between archaeal and bacterial type IV pili. These results suggest
there may be an evolutionary divergence from a common ancestral function and origin.

The Integration Of Officially Integrating Borrowings Into...
The integration of loanwords
With the purpose of officially integrating borrowings into the host language and for speakers to
casually use them in their conversations, all borrowings and creations undergo linguistic changes
based on the features of the recipient language. The following words will analyse the phonological
and morphosyntactic strategies used in French language contact situations.
Phonetical change
Every language has its own phonological system and therefore reproducing foreign sounds is
usually a great linguistic difficulty. The most common strategy to deal with the acoustic
reproduction of loanwords is to treat them as native words, thus, speakers approximately re interpret
the sounds in loanwords following the familiar phonological framework of the hosting language.
Phonological changes can be minimal or perhaps greatly, to the extent that speakers of the donor
language may struggle to identify the loanword as a word of their own . The result of the
adaptation of loanwords creates a certain uncertainty in the speakers. However, this instability and
incertitude contribute to maintain the foreign feature alive in foreign words, in comparison to the
fixed pronunciation of autochthonous words.
In situations where French is the recipient language, loanwords are phonologically restructured to
fit the French syllabary system. Considered being one of the most purist languages French speakers
have a strong loyalty towards their native language. It is for this

The Pros And Cons Of The National Anthem Delima
t this moment in time, we as a nation have come across a troubling situation better known as the
national anthem delima. When we think about the National Anthem it s a way of reminiscing to a
song that talks about the great wars and sacrifices the people before us endured. Not only that but
it gives a sense of honor ment to the ones who are currently fighting to make sure our country
remains a place of freedom. The big question though is should we stand with our hands across our
hearts or kneel/sit with our heads bowed? In my opinion kneelingis acceptable when it s done for
the right reason and not out of hate however some organizations agree with that, others may have
opposite opinions, but there is most certainly a way to handle the situation.
There are so many organizations across the world, some that are similar in idea and some that are
polar opposites. But an organization that truly supports not standing for the National Anthem is the
Black Lives Matter Organization. This is a nation wide community that comes together to fight for
their beliefs no matter what the consequence may be. For example Colin Kaepernick was the first
to ever kneel during the anthem, risking his job, reputation, and social status. The reason he did so
was to gain attention and let the world know how important the injustice blacks in america were

Cross Cultural Communication Essay
The three cultures that are involved in cross cultural communication are the Missionary s Culture
Context, the Bible Culture Context, and the Respondent s Culture Context. The Missionary s
culture is a missionaries understanding and interpretation of the Bible according to their upbringing
in the gospel, and their traditions. For example, I grew up in the Methodist Church, and singing
hymns is a part of our worship and culture. Some modernize Churches do not necessary care for
hymns, because it seems to turn off the younger generation from attending Church. Therefore, the
modern Church may only sing a hymn on a special occasion to honor their heritage, but they do
include hymns as part of their weekly worship. Nevertheless, no matter the cultural differences
God loves diversity (Winter, 2009, p. 354). As I reflect over my culture there is not too much
difference in the Bibleculture, we praise and worship, fast and pray many are still judgmental and
prejudice, and slander and cheat. Ecclesiastes 1:9 states History merely repeats itself. It has all been
done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Therefore, in my opinion the cultureonly changes
when we change. Unfortunately, some people cast believers to the side when we do change, but
now as I reflecting on this topic, it really just gives us an opportunity to create a more Christ like
culture, the way God intended it to be since the beginning of time.
The Bible Culture Context is the foundational key to

The microbial fuel cell (MFC) is an upsurging technology in the field of bio energy generation
along with wastewater treatment. The microbial fuel cell generates energy with the help of
microbes that makes it green future source of energy. In MFC, anaerobic microbes degrade
organic matter and produce hydrogen ions (H+) and electrons (e ) at the anode. H+ ion diffuses
through the proton exchange membrane (PEM); and e are transported through an electrode via an
external circuit to the cathode. At a cathode, e and H+ ions combine with oxygen to form water
(H2O), this results in power generation [1]. MFC has limited open circuit voltage (OCV) of 1.14

Generally treatment processes are classified as physical, chemical or biological. Physical treatment
process includes physical extraction of dyes by adsorption [8], membrane filtration [9] and ion
exchange. However, extracted dyes not be recovered, high cost and yet requirement of another
process to degrade dyes makes these processes unsustainable. Chemical methods as Chemical
Oxidation [10], Ozonization [11] and Electrochemical degradations are uneconomical and
unfavorable for the environment. Biological methods are based on anaerobiotic or aerobiotic,
microbial culture. But purely anaerobic digestion of azo dye produces carcinogenic aromatic amine
and aerobic deterioration alone is not able to degrade all dyes, also result in high amounts of
sludge [12 14]. Sequential application of anaerobic followed by aerobic degradation has been
providing a solution with the advantage of economic, reliable and ecological benefits [15,16].
Real textile wastewater (RTW) has low biological oxygen demand (BOD) to the chemical
oxygen demand (COD) ratio, which implies chemical treatment is required. RTW also has
greater color appearance; high total dissolved solid (TDS), suspended solids (SS), high
temperature and variable pH (from 5 to 9) depending on dye. On the other hand, domestic

Greek s Influence On The Roman Way Of Life
Greek s Influence on the Roman Way of Life It is no secret that the Greeks have made a huge
impact on how the Romans lived their life. The Romans very much admired the way the Greeks
did life, and did a fine job of adapting it. Rome showed an extraordinary talent for adopting and
adapting the best of other cultures: Etruscan and Greek (Fiero 165). Time after time, we see that
the past cultures have effect on future cultures and the way of living. The past cultures is sort of
like a trial and error for the future societies. Out of the many things that Rome picked up from
Greece, there were three that stood out the most. First, the Romans picked up the Greek style of
architecture, using it in some of their most known buildings. Second, we see the influence of
Greece through the Roman art. Third, the Greeksinfluenced the Romans through music. The
Romans eventually put their own spin on what the Greek did, but they still adopted most things
from the Greek. One of the main areas that we can see the influence of the Greeks in the Roman
Empireis through the architecture that they used. Both Greece and Rome have some of the most
beautiful architectural buildings in the world. The two that are most notable is the Parthenon in
Greece and the Pantheon in Rome. The Romans picked up on the Greeks most favorite form of
architect: the arch. The arch constituted a clear technological advance over the post and lintel
construction used by the Greeks in buildings like the Parthenon

How successfully did Britain secure its Interests in the...
How successfully did Britain secure its Interests in the Eastern Question from 1856 1902?
Between 1856 and 1902 British aims were to secure trade routes, maintain the balance of power in
Britain s favour, have naval control of the Mediterranean and to safeguard India and North Africa
against threatening powers such as France and Russia. These aims were fundamental to Britain at
the time and heavily influenced British foreign policy including British involvement in the Eastern
Question. Britain s aims in the Eastern Question were to maintain the integrity of the Ottoman
Empire as a buffer to Russia, to encourage the reform of the Ottoman Empire, to prevent Russian
penetration of the Balkans and contain the Russian Navy, to prevent ... Show more content on

Disraeli s greatest successes came with the congress of Berlin in 1878 at which Disraeli
managed to preserve enough of the Ottoman Empire for it to remain as a barrier to Russian
expansionism. Part of this preservation was the full restoration of Macedonia to the Ottoman
Empire thereby successfully achieving Britain s goal of maintaining the integrity of the Ottoman
Empire. Disraeli also managed to achieve the goal of preventing Russian penetration of the
Balkans through the dismemberment of Big Bulgaria and the independence of Serbia,
Montenegro and Romania as agreed at the Congress of Berlin, which was another great success
for Britain. Disraeli s policies in the Balkans had also won Britain Cyprus, which was a huge
strategic advancement as it gave Britain a naval base in the Mediterranean and also furthered
Britain s influence in Egypt and improved the security of the Suez Canal route to India, the jewel in
the crown . This fulfilled three of Britain s primary aims, which were to secure trade routes, have
naval control of the Mediterranean and also acted as a safeguard to India, a huge success for
Disraeli. However, Disraeli did have some failures during his time as Prime Minister, the foremost
of which was the fact that he had failed to solve the Eastern Question and the long lasting peace and

Persuasive Essay On Restorative Justice
Many schools implement the concept of restorative justice, in particular; Good Shepherd Catholic
College Mount Isa. The college implements restorative justice in their disciplinary system, they ve
created a new process in dealing with misbehavior through the Responsible Thinking Process
(RTP). This process allows the the students to identify what s wrong in their behavior and gives
them a chance to reflect upon this. The student is first warned when they misbehave then the
teacher proceeds to give them a second chance to correct said behavior after a warning. If the
student continues to misbehave, the teacher will go through the responsible thinking process in
which they ask What are you doing? What should you be doing? Where will you go if this
continues to happens again? This allows the students to take responsibility for their actions and
think about their wrongdoings which allows them to correct themselves. This is more effective
than sending a student away and punishing them, because without verbally addressing the issue,
they don t understand the repercussions of their actions and will often re offend. If the student then
chooses to misbehave again they will be sent to The Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC), in
which they will have to further reflect on their actions. Once this process has occurred, they then
have to negotiate with their teachers about returning to the class and what they have to do, in order
to be allowed in. (Good Shepherd Catholic College, 2017)

Introduction. Anterograde Amnesia Is The Inability To Form
Introduction
Anterograde amnesia is the inability to form new memories, while keeping old memories intact.
People who suffer from this impairment, are unable to encode new memories into long term
memory but are able to keep them in short term. The movie Fifty First Dates portrays this type of
amnesia accurately and inaccurately. The main protagonists of Fifty First Dates are Lucy, played
by Drew Barrymore, and Henry, played by Adam Sandler. Lucy suffers from anterograde amnesia
due to brain damage. For the most part, the movie is accurate to the impairment and is almost
exactly the same as the impairment patients suffer from.

Procedural memory is usually memories associated with muscle memory where her body
remembers it even if she does not. This is also true to the type of amnesia. She even dreams about
Adam Sandler s character even though she is not sure how she knows him. Somehow, her
encounters with him are encoded even though she doesn t remember them explicitly.
A Real Life Example: FL and Similarities from the Movie
What is most interesting is that the movie seems to be based off of a real incident. Smith et. al
(2010) wrote about a special case of a patient named FL. She was in a car accident in 2005 and
reported difficulty retaining information from one day to the next. She describes her memory as
unaffected over the course of the day but when she falls asleep, the memory for each day
disappears. FL also, is able to recall things from before her accident. Lucy, a fictional character
created for a movie, shares many things in common with FL, thus showing that the film is
accurate to the disorder. It also is interesting to know that FL like Lucy was somehow able to
remember something s. According to Smith et. al (2010), For some tests, unbeknownst to FL,
material learned on the previous day was intermixed with material learned on the same day as the
test. In other words, FL sometimes mixed in previously learned material that she did not recall
learning due to her impairment with material that she learned that day. This idea of intermixing
material was also accurate

a town called Broughton which is located in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Broughton is a small

Molly has a strong character and is very intelligent. Whenever Alan has a question she can always
answer it whether she makes it up or tells the truth. Molly is also determined to make a success
out of her son. Most of all Molly is a caring and warm person. She loves her son and is loved by

Daniel Ainslie is the town doctor. He is a very successful doctor because he is very smart and

Margaret to fight constantly. He loves her very much even though they fight a lot. He is a very
passionate man in everything he does. He also loves kids and wants a child but his wife cannot
have children.
The passage I selected may not be the most exciting but I found it was the most important. It
occurs after Dr Ainslie had just finished operating on Alan for a severe case a appendicitis. He
leaves the hospital and rushes down to the warf not thinking where he is going because there are
so many thoughts rushing through his head. She ll never let me! he heard himself cry out once,
and recognized that she was Margaret, cool, detached, sensible, devoid of all trace of wild
Highland imagination. Again he saw Mollie leaning over the sick Alan in the miner s cottage, and
the three figures began to blur and come apart again. He tried to hold on and keep them separated
long enough to understand what had happened to him this night, but it had happened

Persuasive Speech On Veg Food
Vegetarians have a limited choice when it comes to food, but they are satisfied with it and enjoy
it thoroughly; the moment you take a vegetarian friend to a restaurant and eat non veg, you know
how the reaction would be, LOL. But today, what we are going to discuss is capable of giving
vegetarians a heart attack. How often have you visited a VEG RESTAURANT and ordered
manchow soup or naan or a saladand thought that you are having vegetarian food?
What if you were told that some foods you are having regularly are not even Vegetarian?
Shocked? Yes, this is true. Have a look at the list of veg foods that are actually non veg.
1. Manchow soup
I am sure you all must be relishing manchow soup, isn t it? When we go to restaurants we get it in
2 options, vegetarian and non vegetarian. How would you react if we say that the veg version is
not pure veg? Let us tell you that some Manchow soups contain fish sauce i.e. Tom Yum Sauce.
This doesn t mean that all restaurants do so; some of them serve you pure veg too; but it s better to
check it out next time you order it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Naan
Even Jains eat Naan because they consider it to be pure veg. But the shocking thing is that some
restaurants use eggs while kneading the naan dough, so as to make it soft and increase elasticity.

chapattis, right?

PROBLEM #1 A. The simulated function given in the Excel spreadsheet Hamptonshire Express:
Problem_#1 allows the user to find the optimal quantity of newspapers to be stocked at the newly
formed Hamptonshire Express Daily Newspaper. Anna Sheen estimated the daily demand of
newspapers to be on a normal standard distribution; stating that daily demand will have a mean of
500 newspapers per day with a standard deviation of 100 newspapers per day. Using the function
provided, the optimal stocking quantity, which maximizes expected profit, is determined to be
approximately 584 newspapers. If 584 newspapers were to be ordered, Hamptonshire Express will

To find the optimal profit level, you would set $10 = to the marginal benefit, or: $10= ((0.8 *50)
/ (2h)) and solve for H which = 4 hours. C. Using a table to compare the difference between
problem #1 and problem #2, respectively, we can see the obvious differences between the optimal
stocking quantity and daily expected profit figures.
| Stocking Quantity| Daily Expected Profit| 1| 584| 331.44| 2| 685| 371.33|
The stocking quantity and expected profits are higher in the second scenario because of the extra
time spent to improve the quality of profile section. By spending the extra time to improve the
profile section, Anna Sheen increased the overall quality of her newspaper, which will, most likely,
lead to an increased probability of demand for her newspaper around the area. This increased
demand will raise Anna Sheen s stocking quantity and the daily expected profits that are associated
with that individual stocking quantity.
Problem #3 A. Assuming the number of hours Anna Sheen will spend developing the profile
section will = 4; Ralph Armentrout s optimal stocking quantity is 516, as portrayed in the table
below: Stocking Quantity| Daily Expected Profit| 513| 62.131| 514| 62.139| 515| 62.143| 516|
62.145| 517| 62.144| 518| 62.140| 519| 62.133| 520| 62.124|

Ancient Mythology through Generations
Ancient Mythology has always been a very fascinating subject throughout many generations.
Whether it was stories of star crossed lovers, good versus evil, or the wrath of the gods these
tales have always had a way of captivating their audiences. One of the most prominent stories was
about Odysseus, a war hero who longed to return to his wife Queen Penelope after many years
away fighting in the Trojan War. He loved his queen very much and the fact they could not be
together tore him apart. When he returned from a long voyage at sea, he had to prove his love for
his queen. Another major tale was that of King Agamemnon, who was also fighting in the Trojan
War and wanted to see his wife Clytemnestra. However, when he returned Agamemnon might have
found himself in a position that he shouldn t have returned home to. Both of these stories tell tales
about the epic war for the city of Troy, however the fate of these two great leaders was vastly
different when they returned home. The Trojan War began when the Trojan Prince Paris stole the
heart of Helen, the wife of King Menelaus of Sparta, and the two of them returned back to try to
be married. Menelaus was not going to take this act of disrespect, and demanded that somebody
pay the price for such a devious crime. Agamemnon was the brother of Menelaus and the two of
them formed an alliance against the people and leaders of Troy. When the dust settled many
familiar faces were dead including Achilles, Ajax, and Paris. King Menelaus

Fermentation Of Yeast Lab Report
The objective of this study is to show the process of fermentation of yeast and the cellular
respiration rate that is found in the mitochondria. The first part of the experiment tested
fermentation of yeast through the production of CO2 under certain circumstances. Four different
food sources were used: glucose, sucrose, starch, and H2O. The temperature varied from 37oC to
4oC and measured on a 5 minute interval. We predicted that the glucose on the highest temperature
would produce the most CO2 bubbles. In the alcohol fermentation process glucose is initially used,
we predicted that the increase in glucose would produce the most CO2. The second part of the
experiment, cellular respirationwas measured from mitochondria found in isolated lima beans. This
was done to examine the citric acid cycle that takes place in the mitochondria. Within the citric acid
cycle, succinate must be converted to fumarate. The experiment tested the reaction rate of the
succinate with the varying mixtures that contained DPIP, a buffer, succinate and the mitochondrial
suspension. These mixtures were placed inside the spectrometer where transmittance was measured.
We predicted that solution 3 would have the lowest rate of reaction. This is because solution 3
contained the most succinate as well as an considerable amount of the mitochondrial suspension in
the same solution.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sucrose followed but took a longer period of time to create the CO2 . On the other hand,
starch remained stagnant in all three temperatures creating little to no bubbles at all. Table 1

most bubbles observed to the least follows: glucose (37oC, 25oC, and 4oC), sucrose (25oC, 4oC,

Why The US Should Cut Immigration
Although President Trump s comments offer an anti immigrant view based on fear of a Cold War
anomaly and lack of better quality immigrant selection, history, and economic statistics support the
idea that legal immigration has, and continues to be, vital to the development and prosperity of the
United States.
Immigration was the foundation of the United States. The founding fathers left the British Empire to
escape religious persecution in search of a new start in life. Today this American dream is what
immigrants long for. Without immigration, the United States would most likely have seen minimal
growth throughout history. Statistics prove that the economy and diversity of the United States
significantly increased in relation to the amount of immigration. Despite the apparent importance of
immigration to the United States, some argue that immigrants steal jobs and increase crime. In
reality, immigrants increase jobs and further increase the stability of the United States.
Supporters of cutting legal immigration fear the influx of undesirable immigrants as well as the
possibility of terrorists entering the United States through immigration programs. President Trump
and his administration emphasize the idea that Americans and their jobs need to be protected from
all newcomers (CapГі Web) due to their belief that this position is true. One resource supporting
restrictions on immigration is CapГі Jr. s The White House Used This Moment as Proof the U.S.

The Eye Of The Needle
The Eye of the Needle
The Eye of the Needle was always an iconic place along the Missouri until May 1997 when it
collapsed under suspicious circumstances. On the expedition of Lewis and Clark, the White
Cliffs of Montana was a signature site described by Lewis. One of the extraordinary landmarks
was the Eye of the Needle, which Meriwether Lewis first described its scenery by comparing its
magnificent rock formations to elegant ranges of lofting freestone buildings, having their parapets
well stocked with statuary (Burns, 1997). This was 1800 s talk, which doesn t make sense to most
people nowadays. Looking at an old picture of the Eye of the Needle that my grandfather took
while rafting the Missouri, I can see the beauty that people raved about.
The rock structure is so perplexing. The arch made up of multiple boulders doesn t look like
anything that nature could ever make naturally. It defies gravity standing on the very top of the
rock wall lining the rushing Missouri. The light grey structure has thousands of crevices that
formed themselves from natural wear and tear over time. 200 feet up, it towers over the Missouri
River keeping a watchful eye on all of the wildlife.
When blogger Chris describes this beautiful place he said,
The Eye of the Needle could be seen a few miles upstream while floating the Missouri River, and
from a distance it appeared to be just that a tiny window allowing some of the sky to shine through.
The structure was only about 11 feet high,

The Dimensions Of Wellness In The 5k Community

community race I attended and it was a memorable experience. I witnessed more than a hundred
people get up early in the morning and go for a run around California State University, Bakersfield
s beautiful campus. The general impression I got from the racewas that it is a good way to stay
healthy and active on a Saturday morning. The diversity amongst the 5k participants was one of the
best things about the event. To clarify, there were people of all ages, from senior citizens to little
children, from mothers pushing their babies in strollers to people runningwith their dogs. All the
participants shared one thing in common, they all started and finished... Show more content on

Differences Between Google Chrome and Internet Explorer...
Although Google Chrome and Internet Explorer are both web browsers that serve the same
fundamental purpose, there are certain key differences that attract users to one or the other.
The first and most obvious difference is the design of the actual browser. Google Chrome aims to
be more of a lightweight browser, so it features a limited set of options under its preferences, a
larger browser window, and the omnibar, which combines both the search functions and the web
functions into one. This allows Google Chrome to be very simplistic and efficient in browsing.
Internet explorer on the other hand does not have an omnibar, nor are the preferences as
straightforward as Google Chrome, but it does allow the user to modify and tweak many more ...

Another major difference is the development of the actual browser. Internet Explorer is
developed by Microsoft using a proprietary code, and as a result, any updates such as bug fixes,
new features, or small modifications that are made on IE have to be released by Microsoft.
Google Chrome on the other hand is a faster, open source browser that uses the open source
WebKit code, and anyone who is able to write code will be able to submit a modified build to a
forum (www.chromium.org) that Google monitors. Any new features that are built into the
browser can then be selected by Google, and placed into the newest version of Google Chrome.
To many people this makes Google Chrome a very desirable option because any bugs and
additional features can be fixed or added on almost immediately.
Although both browsers are constantly updated to deal with new security threats that are found
on the internet the security of both browsers still varies. Two of the standards used to measure
the security of the browsers include the Acid 3 test, and the ability of hackers to hack into
computers using the respective browser. Acid 3 measures the ability of the browser to render and
utilise the information presented on the web, so a rule of thumb, a higher Acid 3 score typically
suggests a better built browser that is able to handle security threats presented online. As of August
18, 2010, the Acid 3 test of the latest stable release of Google Chrome is 100/100, whilst the score
of Internet

  • 2. White Privilege In Education Essay The education system is notorious for teaching its own agenda, and not necessarily all the facts of a situation. For many years, the education system on all levels has been teaching students what it means to have privilege, and how life would be if they did not. Usually, the white students are the subject of privilege, and the minority student are the subject of life with racism, and without privilege. White privilege has been an underlying lesson to students for generations, and contributes to the power and superiority white people feel over everyone else. When the Michael Brown shooting occurred, it opened up many people s eyes to the inequalities that are being perpetrated by the very educationsystem meant to teach students how to live... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is not done in conspicuous ways, though. In both subtle and overt ways, the hidden curriculum works to re produce and re inforce the inequalities that exist in society. Studies show that streaming practices, teacher expectation and pedagogy, as well as the curriculum itself, all work to disadvantage certain racialized and minoritized youth on the basis of race, gender and class (Dei et. al. 2004. 94). First of all, there is the hidden curriculum that is taught by the teachers. This curriculum would consist of, for example, historical facts being distorted in order to hear only one side of the story. In many history classes, students receive the Canadian or American perspective, and that perspective is of white people who wrote the history books in order to favour certain facts. It also includes the way the teachers actually treat students. Positive and negative reinforcement impacts the students psych in a way that will leave a lasting impression. If a teacher praises a white student constantly for doing a job well done, but does not treat a non white student in the same way, that will leave the impression that the white student is better and smarter, and that pushes the hidden curriculum. Next, the curriculum works to re inforce the problems society already has. In the work force, it is a common known fact that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some couple of hours had passed, he had eaten and napped several times, always making sure to stay clear of Bucky. He didn t want Bucky to see him at his worst, he didn t want to say something that he didn t mean, and he really just didn t wantto be scolded which would ve ended up with him saying something that he didn t mean anyways. So he thoughtit best to just stay as far away from him as possible. • 4. Relationship Between Indians And Europeans When the Europeans landed in North America in the 1600s, there were already Indians there. Over the 200 years between 1600 and 1800, there where many different relations that took place between the Indians and Europeans. These relations include; political, religious, social, cultural, military, and economic. In my story map I am going to tell you about the politics of Indians and Europeans between 1600 and 1800 from different colonies. The Chesapeake Colonies: Virginia and Maryland What happened here was The House of Burgesses. Governor George Yeardley arrived in Virginia in April 1619 and announced that Virginia Company voted to abolish martial law. With martial law gone, they decided to create a legislative assembly, which became the House of Burgesses, which was the first legislative assembly in the American colonies. The laws and rules were made by adult male landowners. In 1619 the colony divided into counties. In each county there was a court, where landowners met to provide defense, judge legal case, and make local regulations. The colony government and the county government slightly differed. In the colony government there was an appointed governor, an appointed council and an elected assembly. In the county government there were courts, militias, and local regulations. The Chesapeake colony had ongoing problems with the Powhatan Indians. The Powhatan Indians did not like the colonist moving in on their territory, which caused the Anglo Powhatan Wars. The war ... • 5. The Met Essay I joined the class for the trip to the Big Apple on the eve of Halloween. We departed from a campus parking lot early Saturday morning. Our destination was the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is located at 82nd Street and Fifth Avenue. I had never been to the Met before and I was very impressed. I wandered throughout the museum going from gallery to gallery until I was able to find the two paintings that interested me the most. The first painting to catch my eye was the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne, which was painted by Albrecht Durer around 1519. The German artist lived from 1471 to 1528 and is considered by many the greatest German Renaissance artist of them all. Albrecht Durer used an oil medium on a wooden support to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The artist s palette had a fairly wide range of colors when painting this artwork. The use of many different colors makes this a polychromatic work of art. He used a few warm colors along with a lot of black and white. Most of the areas of this painting that are painted with warm colors are low in saturation. This is shown in the clothing of the woman holding the child. It seems the source of light comes from the top left hand corner of the painting. The light source causes the three figures to have a high intensity level. This is shown on the child s face, which is not only the focal point of this picture but also the highlight. Durer also used chiaroscuro to show the depth in the painting. The shadow on the woman with the child makes the painting appear to be three dimensional. After seeing how representational a painting can be I decided to take a look at the opposite end of the spectrum. The other painting I chose is titled Stepping Out. Roy Lichtenstein did this painting in 1978. He worked as a commercial artist as well as a graphic designer before becoming popular as a Pop Artist. Lichtenstein used a similar medium, which was oil and magna, but chose to paint his picture on canvas instead of wood. While Stepping Out is still a portrait it is unlike Durer `s work in that it is an abstract artwork. The male form in the painting is fairly realistic while the female form is very surreal. Lichtenstein also used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Twelfth Night Trickster Quotes In the play Twelfth Night , Shakespeare presents many tricksters. In fact, the majority of the characters can somewhat be characterized as a trickster. Some characteristics that you would see in a trickster are that they are intelligent, ambiguous, deceitful, and self serving. In the play Twelfth Night some characters that you would classify as tricksters are Viola, Feste, Maria, Sir Toby Belch, and Sir Andrew Aguecheek. Some tricksters are of higher class/rank while others are of lower class/servants. In Twelfth Night, the tricksters are used to develop conflict, challenge social order, and create comedy. One of the most important tricksters of Twelfth Night would have to be Viola. After being shipwrecked into a new country, Viola completely... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His character helped create the festive atmosphere with his singing and dancing and excessive drinking. Sir Andrew is very fond of Olivia, however he knows that he doesn t have a chance. Sir Toby keeps encouraging him to keep trying with Olivia but he s discouraged because he knows she has feelings for Cesario. Sir Andrew is so moved by Olivia that he was willing to pick a sword fight with Cesario but then backs down when Cesario is prepared and ready to go. Sir Andrew backing down from the dual against Cesario goes to show that strength and masculinity can be masked, as Cesario is really Viola in disguise. This is another example of how Sir Andrew s main purpose in the story is just for the laughs. Aguecheek is one of the duller, unintelligent characters of Twelfth Night. It s obvious Aguecheek isn t very smart because Maria mocks him without him noticing. An you part so, mistress, I would I might never draw sword again. Fair lady, do you think you have fools in hand, says Sir Andrew to Maria. Sir, I have not you by the hand. I watched Mark Morris Dance Group Spring,Spring,Spring (excerpt 1) and I thought the dance was about spring and each person represented a flower or plant blooming in the season. All of the colorful pants men were wearing could have represented the different colored leaves on the trees. There was a part in the dance where they were all spinning in a circle and there was a gap between two girls. Although white collar crime makes up less than 1% of all arrests made, it can cost its victims upwards of trillions of dollars in fiscal damages each year (ACFE, 2014). Despite its detrimental cost to its victims, very few theories are capable of explaining why white collar crimetakes place. General strain theory is one of the few theories capable of explaining the phenomenon of white collar crime, naming the presence of negative stimuli and goal blockage, among other factors, as central causes of criminality, despite the background or demographic of the offender. Rothschild for six months, Jordan received a promotion to a position as a stockbroker, and was promptly laid off the same day due to the Black Monday crash. This situation in particular, placed an enormous amount of strain on Jordan as a positive stimulus was removed, via the loss of his job, and a negative stimulus was added, via pressure to provide for himself and his wife. These were added to the strain already being placed on Jordan through the disjuncture of his expectations and reality. In addition to the clustering of these negative events, losing a job was of high magnitude to Jordan as he viewed his position as a stockbroker as essential to the removal of another strain in his life, the gap between his desired wealth and his actual lower middle class lifestyle. Although Jordan was able to obtain a job as a stockbroker in a relatively short time, the effect of his recent unemployment impacted his decision to use illegal selling tactics when he returned to work. The combination of these factors led to feelings of disappointment, frustration and fear within Jordan, ultimately leading him to the use of illegal pump and dump selling techniques, in which a stockbroker provides a client with false insider information in order to intentionally drive up the value of an often, worthless stock, and convince the client to invest ... Women are often not held up to the standard of a man in the business workforce, which leaves them with fewer position choices outside the norm. Most jobs that womenhave are not demanding upon the body and require little to no strength. The failure to understand adaptation by the government has caused many reforms in the past, but there are still many flaws in the hiring system that often leave women asking questions and puzzled by the bias decisions of men in charge of the management of positions. Poe uses both humor and horror in many different ways in order to create the setting. Humor is used in many different ways, such as a friend who only keeps track of one thing that you say, for instance, the friend who keeps shouting Amontillado! Everyone knows someone who, when feeling under the weather still insists that they are feeling peachy. Poe also uses that in his story to create a relatable, joke that mostly everyone can relate to. In the insight video they say that they believe in that nature might present itself as different object and or sometimes an actual person. I do believe that the game did a good job of communicating the values mention in the insight videos because every challenge that Nuna and the fox faced had a moral or reason that they were facing it in that moment. An example would be when Nuna and the fox forgot to respectthe little mouse, they had to faced the big mouse and get out of his cave afterwards, the little mouse comes to them when they are canoeing away and they lift of the mouse out of the water and place him in their canoe showing that they learned their lesson to respect every animal even a mouse. Throughout their journey Nuna and the fox would run into the owl man who would tell them stories and why things were happening, this concept is apart of the Inupiaq values of sharing stories. It stood from 1961 1989 as a physical reminder of that divide, a daily reminder of the divide that still influences the nation today, and a physical barrier in which 138 East Germans died trying to cross. So dire was the Berlin Wallthat Heinrich Albertz, an aide to West Berlin Mayor, compared it to as if; They are cutting up a city, cutting into living flesh without anesthesia . Thus it can be observed that so high was its importance, that only after the Berlin wall was abolished in that the cold warwas finally coming to an end and so traumatising was its presence that Berlin has yet to fully recover. In order to come to a conclusion about the impact of the Berlin wall, one must first understand the context of which it came to be. At the end of the second world war, the disintegration of German central authority allowed allied powers to take control of Germany. During the February of 1945, the allied victors held the Yalta conference, a committee focused on the dismemberment of Germany, in order to come to a conclusion on the current German question . • 21. Modern Landscape Design Is The Arrangement Of Environments... Modernism, in the context of landscape design, is a result of forms and functions that reflect the need for outdoor living spaces that enhance contemporary lifestyles. As Garrett Eckbo, one of the central figures in modern landscape architecture, said, landscape design is the arrangement of environments for people. Contemporary garden design tends to focus on scale as opposed to formal landscape designs that are based on axial relationships. It also foregoes the more classic landscape design forms and larger scale from Greek, Roman, and classical architecture traditions. This design motif became popular in the 1950 s baby boom, particularly in California where weather and lifestyle was very conducive to this innovative style. In modern landscape design, boundaries between areas of color, textures and shapes are undefined or conversely, sharply defined. Color and composition create the emotional response. Combining freshness and flair, these designs use dramatic geometric shapes to create a point of view that is fluid and natural. Water and light are often used, as in artfully lit outdoor water fountains, to enhance the sensual loveliness and liveliness. The designs are arresting, both close up and far away. Form and Function in Modern Landscape Design As the maxim says, form follows function. Modern landscape design is an aesthetic that shows only what is necessary while often leaving surfaces exposed. The simplicity of modern design reveals itself in that every form ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ian Mcewan s Guilt In The Film Atonement Joe Wright s heart wrenching film Atonement (2007), based on Ian McEwan s novel of the same name, is a poignant tale of lost love and the power of guilt. Set in England, 1935, young lovers Cecilia Tallis (Kiera Knightley) and Robbie Turner (James McAvoy) are torn apart by a lie constructed by Cecilia s 13 year old sister, Briony (Saoirse Ronan), and all of the characters must face the consequences. The film recounts a story of burning passion, while encompassing the catastrophe of war, the concept of growing up and the intense emotion of guilt. While Briony holds the hand of the dying Luc, she is reminded of the hurt she has caused these important people in her life. When the confused Luc asks Did she [your sister] finally marry that man she was so in love with? , close shots of Briony s face are used to convey the overwhelming guilt she feels for her own sister Cecilia, as she is the reason for her failed love. He strove to teach himself so that he could be a teacher to others as his revolutionary ideas on education changed how we look at education even today. He began to dive more and more into the world of Transcendentalism. He was a husband a father and a teacher who created a wave through America that still has rippling effects today. Much more came out of this movement including his effect that he had on his daughter who herself spread transcendental ideas through her writings. This man was Amos Bronson Alcott, and he was a reformer of society looking to abide by Transcendental beliefs. Alcott played one of the biggest roles in causing Transcendentalism to be still present today as he embodies the ideals behind Transcendentalism. Alcott took the philosophies of Thoreau and Emerson and instilled them into the world of the educational system by adding many different activities to the curriculum, stressing self reliance and self sacrifice to his students and his daughter. Alcott did his best to support his family, but his lecturing and writing were limited in their effectiveness. He understood that what he was doing was an attempt to better society, and he followed the Transcendental ideal of non conformity. • 24. Essay On How Did Texas Fight In The Civil War Fighting for What s Right (Or Believed to Be) Way back when, the South had clashing opinions with the North. And like in most cases, the disagreement turned into a war. The US was divided into the North and South; one side strongly for slavery, and one strongly against. Everyone thought that they could live this way, divided, in harmony, but they were wrong. Southern states began to secede, and a month later war broke out. Why did Texans fight in the Civil War? The residents of Texas fought because they loved Texas, they wanted to have states rights, and they wanted to protect slavery. Texans participated in the Civil War because they loved Texas. Keim Culver Stockton College Stress, what is it, how it Affects you and How to Deal With it Stress can have both positive and negative effects on your body. Stress is what gives a person that last burst of energy in a competition. Stress is what keeps people up at night, what makes them stray from their normal diet and it can even go as far as making someone physically ill. What is stress? Stress is one s body s natural response to threats and pressure. Athletes feel stress during any game or race, students feel stress before a big test or exam. Workers feel stress when they are assigned to a big project or up for a promotion. Stress causes feelings of nervousness, low energy, and even tenses us up and makes us feel on edge and easily irritable. When a person is stressed out their adrenal gland kicks into overdrive causing high levels of adrenaline in the brain. Distress is negative stress in a person s life. Examples of distress may include, The death of a family member The death of a lifelong friend Separation from your spouse The end of a long relationship Having money issues If distress is not handled correctly it can lead to the feelings of hopelessness, irritability, and even getting physically ill. This essay seeks to analyze the origins and significance of diversity within the taxonomic group of Lagormorpha, both within species and between species. Origin of diversity within species Inbreeding depression occurs when species inbreed to a point where the overall fitness of the species decreases significantly. Slate and Pemberton studied how reduced heterozygosity affected the sperm and gonads of wild rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) across the United Kingdom; they considered 112 individuals as well as populations (2006). The study found an important relationship: with a reduced heterozygosity, the production of normal sperm was also reduced (Slate and Pemberton, 2006). It is important to note; the relationship s effect was found amongst individuals not entire populations (Slate and Pemberton, 2006). To compile this data, the scientists measured degrees of inbreeding with a molecular measure, using 29 microsatellite loci for each individual male rabbit (Slate and Pemberton, 2006). This loci region is known to have a relationship with the genes coding for inbreeding depression, although why is not completely understood (Slate and Pemberton, 2006). The integration of loanwords With the purpose of officially integrating borrowings into the host language and for speakers to casually use them in their conversations, all borrowings and creations undergo linguistic changes based on the features of the recipient language. The following words will analyse the phonological and morphosyntactic strategies used in French language contact situations. Phonetical change Every language has its own phonological system and therefore reproducing foreign sounds is usually a great linguistic difficulty. The most common strategy to deal with the acoustic reproduction of loanwords is to treat them as native words, thus, speakers approximately re interpret the sounds in loanwords following the familiar phonological framework of the hosting language. Phonological changes can be minimal or perhaps greatly, to the extent that speakers of the donor language may struggle to identify the loanword as a word of their own . The result of the adaptation of loanwords creates a certain uncertainty in the speakers. However, this instability and incertitude contribute to maintain the foreign feature alive in foreign words, in comparison to the fixed pronunciation of autochthonous words. In situations where French is the recipient language, loanwords are phonologically restructured to fit the French syllabary system. Considered being one of the most purist languages French speakers have a strong loyalty towards their native language. It is for this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When we think about the National Anthem it s a way of reminiscing to a song that talks about the great wars and sacrifices the people before us endured. Not only that but it gives a sense of honor ment to the ones who are currently fighting to make sure our country remains a place of freedom. The big question though is should we stand with our hands across our hearts or kneel/sit with our heads bowed? The Missionary s culture is a missionaries understanding and interpretation of the Bible according to their upbringing in the gospel, and their traditions. For example, I grew up in the Methodist Church, and singing hymns is a part of our worship and culture. Some modernize Churches do not necessary care for hymns, because it seems to turn off the younger generation from attending Church. Therefore, the modern Church may only sing a hymn on a special occasion to honor their heritage, but they do include hymns as part of their weekly worship. Ecclesiastes 1:9 states History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Therefore, in my opinion the cultureonly changes when we change. The microbial fuel cell generates energy with the help of microbes that makes it green future source of energy. H+ ion diffuses through the proton exchange membrane (PEM); and e are transported through an electrode via an external circuit to the cathode. At a cathode, e and H+ ions combine with oxygen to form water (H2O), this results in power generation [1]. • 42. Greek s Influence On The Roman Way Of Life Greek s Influence on the Roman Way of Life It is no secret that the Greeks have made a huge impact on how the Romans lived their life. The Romans very much admired the way the Greeks did life, and did a fine job of adapting it. Rome showed an extraordinary talent for adopting and adapting the best of other cultures: Etruscan and Greek (Fiero 165). Time after time, we see that the past cultures have effect on future cultures and the way of living. The past cultures is sort of like a trial and error for the future societies. Out of the many things that Rome picked up from Greece, there were three that stood out the most. First, the Romans picked up the Greek style of architecture, using it in some of their most known buildings. Second, we see the influence of Greece through the Roman art. Third, the Greeksinfluenced the Romans through music. The Romans eventually put their own spin on what the Greek did, but they still adopted most things from the Greek. One of the main areas that we can see the influence of the Greeks in the Roman Empireis through the architecture that they used. Both Greece and Rome have some of the most beautiful architectural buildings in the world. The two that are most notable is the Parthenon in Greece and the Pantheon in Rome. The Romans picked up on the Greeks most favorite form of architect: the arch. The arch constituted a clear technological advance over the post and lintel construction used by the Greeks in buildings like the Parthenon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Between 1856 and 1902 British aims were to secure trade routes, maintain the balance of power in Britain s favour, have naval control of the Mediterranean and to safeguard India and North Africa against threatening powers such as France and Russia. These aims were fundamental to Britain at the time and heavily influenced British foreign policy including British involvement in the Eastern Question. Disraeli s greatest successes came with the congress of Berlin in 1878 at which Disraeli managed to preserve enough of the Ottoman Empire for it to remain as a barrier to Russian expansionism. Part of this preservation was the full restoration of Macedonia to the Ottoman Empire thereby successfully achieving Britain s goal of maintaining the integrity of the Ottoman Empire. Disraeli also managed to achieve the goal of preventing Russian penetration of the Balkans through the dismemberment of Big Bulgaria and the independence of Serbia, Montenegro and Romania as agreed at the Congress of Berlin, which was another great success for Britain. Disraeli s policies in the Balkans had also won Britain Cyprus, which was a huge strategic advancement as it gave Britain a naval base in the Mediterranean and also furthered Britain s influence in Egypt and improved the security of the Suez Canal route to India, the jewel in the crown . This fulfilled three of Britain s primary aims, which were to secure trade routes, have naval control of the Mediterranean and also acted as a safeguard to India, a huge success for Disraeli. • 44. Persuasive Essay On Restorative Justice Many schools implement the concept of restorative justice, in particular; Good Shepherd Catholic College Mount Isa. The college implements restorative justice in their disciplinary system, they ve created a new process in dealing with misbehavior through the Responsible Thinking Process (RTP). This process allows the the students to identify what s wrong in their behavior and gives them a chance to reflect upon this. The student is first warned when they misbehave then the teacher proceeds to give them a second chance to correct said behavior after a warning. If the student continues to misbehave, the teacher will go through the responsible thinking process in which they ask What are you doing? What should you be doing? Where will you go if this continues to happens again? This allows the students to take responsibility for their actions and think about their wrongdoings which allows them to correct themselves. This is more effective than sending a student away and punishing them, because without verbally addressing the issue, they don t understand the repercussions of their actions and will often re offend. If the student then chooses to misbehave again they will be sent to The Responsible Thinking Classroom (RTC), in which they will have to further reflect on their actions. Once this process has occurred, they then have to negotiate with their teachers about returning to the class and what they have to do, in order to be allowed in. People who suffer from this impairment, are unable to encode new memories into long term memory but are able to keep them in short term. The movie Fifty First Dates portrays this type of amnesia accurately and inaccurately. The main protagonists of Fifty First Dates are Lucy, played by Drew Barrymore, and Henry, played by Adam Sandler. Lucy suffers from anterograde amnesia due to brain damage. For the most part, the movie is accurate to the impairment and is almost exactly the same as the impairment patients suffer from. Procedural memory is usually memories associated with muscle memory where her body remembers it even if she does not. This is also true to the type of amnesia. She even dreams about Adam Sandler s character even though she is not sure how she knows him. Somehow, her encounters with him are encoded even though she doesn t remember them explicitly. A Real Life Example: FL and Similarities from the Movie What is most interesting is that the movie seems to be based off of a real incident. Smith et. al (2010) wrote about a special case of a patient named FL. She was in a car accident in 2005 and reported difficulty retaining information from one day to the next. She describes her memory as unaffected over the course of the day but when she falls asleep, the memory for each day disappears. FL also, is able to recall things from before her accident. Lucy, a fictional character created for a movie, shares many things in common with FL, thus showing that the film is accurate to the disorder. It also is interesting to know that FL like Lucy was somehow able to remember something s. According to Smith et. al (2010), For some tests, unbeknownst to FL, material learned on the previous day was intermixed with material learned on the same day as the test. In other words, FL sometimes mixed in previously learned material that she did not recall learning due to her impairment with material that she learned that day. • 49. Ancient Mythology through Generations Ancient Mythology has always been a very fascinating subject throughout many generations. Whether it was stories of star crossed lovers, good versus evil, or the wrath of the gods these tales have always had a way of captivating their audiences. One of the most prominent stories was about Odysseus, a war hero who longed to return to his wife Queen Penelope after many years away fighting in the Trojan War. He loved his queen very much and the fact they could not be together tore him apart. When he returned from a long voyage at sea, he had to prove his love for his queen. Another major tale was that of King Agamemnon, who was also fighting in the Trojan War and wanted to see his wife Clytemnestra. However, when he returned Agamemnon might have found himself in a position that he shouldn t have returned home to. Both of these stories tell tales about the epic war for the city of Troy, however the fate of these two great leaders was vastly different when they returned home. The Trojan War began when the Trojan Prince Paris stole the heart of Helen, the wife of King Menelaus of Sparta, and the two of them returned back to try to be married. Menelaus was not going to take this act of disrespect, and demanded that somebody pay the price for such a devious crime. Agamemnon was the brother of Menelaus and the two of them formed an alliance against the people and leaders of Troy. • 50. Fermentation Of Yeast Lab Report The objective of this study is to show the process of fermentation of yeast and the cellular respiration rate that is found in the mitochondria. The first part of the experiment tested fermentation of yeast through the production of CO2 under certain circumstances. Four different food sources were used: glucose, sucrose, starch, and H2O. The temperature varied from 37oC to 4oC and measured on a 5 minute interval. We predicted that the glucose on the highest temperature would produce the most CO2 bubbles. In the alcohol fermentation process glucose is initially used, we predicted that the increase in glucose would produce the most CO2. The second part of the experiment, cellular respirationwas measured from mitochondria found in isolated lima beans. This was done to examine the citric acid cycle that takes place in the mitochondria. Within the citric acid cycle, succinate must be converted to fumarate. The experiment tested the reaction rate of the succinate with the varying mixtures that contained DPIP, a buffer, succinate and the mitochondrial suspension. These mixtures were placed inside the spectrometer where transmittance was measured. We predicted that solution 3 would have the lowest rate of reaction. This is because solution 3 contained the most succinate as well as an considerable amount of the mitochondrial suspension in the same solution.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 51. Why The US Should Cut Immigration Although President Trump s comments offer an anti immigrant view based on fear of a Cold War anomaly and lack of better quality immigrant selection, history, and economic statistics support the idea that legal immigration has, and continues to be, vital to the development and prosperity of the United States. Immigration was the foundation of the United States. The founding fathers left the British Empire to escape religious persecution in search of a new start in life. Today this American dream is what immigrants long for. Without immigration, the United States would most likely have seen minimal growth throughout history. Statistics prove that the economy and diversity of the United States significantly increased in relation to the amount of immigration. Despite the apparent importance of immigration to the United States, some argue that immigrants steal jobs and increase crime. In reality, immigrants increase jobs and further increase the stability of the United States. Supporters of cutting legal immigration fear the influx of undesirable immigrants as well as the possibility of terrorists entering the United States through immigration programs. President Trump and his administration emphasize the idea that Americans and their jobs need to be protected from all newcomers (CapГі Web) due to their belief that this position is true. On the expedition of Lewis and Clark, the White Cliffs of Montana was a signature site described by Lewis. One of the extraordinary landmarks was the Eye of the Needle, which Meriwether Lewis first described its scenery by comparing its magnificent rock formations to elegant ranges of lofting freestone buildings, having their parapets well stocked with statuary (Burns, 1997). This was 1800 s talk, which doesn t make sense to most people nowadays. Looking at an old picture of the Eye of the Needle that my grandfather took while rafting the Missouri, I can see the beauty that people raved about. The rock structure is so perplexing. The arch made up of multiple boulders doesn t look like anything that nature could ever make naturally. It defies gravity standing on the very top of the rock wall lining the rushing Missouri. The light grey structure has thousands of crevices that formed themselves from natural wear and tear over time. 200 feet up, it towers over the Missouri River keeping a watchful eye on all of the wildlife. When blogger Chris describes this beautiful place he said, The Eye of the Needle could be seen a few miles upstream while floating the Missouri River, and from a distance it appeared to be just that a tiny window allowing some of the sky to shine through. Although Google Chrome and Internet Explorer are both web browsers that serve the same fundamental purpose, there are certain key differences that attract users to one or the other. The first and most obvious difference is the design of the actual browser. Google Chrome aims to be more of a lightweight browser, so it features a limited set of options under its preferences, a larger browser window, and the omnibar, which combines both the search functions and the web functions into one. This allows Google Chrome to be very simplistic and efficient in browsing. Internet explorer on the other hand does not have an omnibar, nor are the preferences as straightforward as Google Chrome, but it does allow the user to modify and tweak many more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another major difference is the development of the actual browser. Internet Explorer is developed by Microsoft using a proprietary code, and as a result, any updates such as bug fixes, new features, or small modifications that are made on IE have to be released by Microsoft. Google Chrome on the other hand is a faster, open source browser that uses the open source WebKit code, and anyone who is able to write code will be able to submit a modified build to a forum (www.chromium.org) that Google monitors. Any new features that are built into the browser can then be selected by Google, and placed into the newest version of Google Chrome. To many people this makes Google Chrome a very desirable option because any bugs and additional features can be fixed or added on almost immediately. Although both browsers are constantly updated to deal with new security threats that are found on the internet the security of both browsers still varies. Two of the standards used to measure the security of the browsers include the Acid 3 test, and the ability of hackers to hack into computers using the respective browser. Acid 3 measures the ability of the browser to render and utilise the information presented on the web, so a rule of thumb, a higher Acid 3 score typically suggests a better built browser that is able to handle security threats presented online.
