Essay On Community Service
Crafting an essay on the subject of community service can present both challenges and
opportunities for reflection. At its core, community service is a multifaceted concept,
encompassing a range of experiences and perspectives. The difficulty lies in navigating this
complexity and presenting a cohesive narrative that not only highlights personal involvement but
also delves into the broader societal impact.
One of the challenges is striking the right balance between personal anecdotes and the
overarching significance of community service. The writer must seamlessly weave their
individual experiences into a broader narrative that emphasizes the importance of contributing to
the community. This requires careful thought and organization to ensure that the essay flows
logically and coherently.
Moreover, tackling the emotional aspect of community service can be demanding. The essay
might delve into the transformative nature of such experiences, forcing the writer to navigate
through a myriad of emotions and reflect on the personal growth that often accompanies
community service endeavors. Expressing these sentiments in a sincere and impactful manner
requires a certain level of introspection and vulnerability, adding another layer of complexity to
the writing process.
Furthermore, addressing the potential clichГ©s associated with community service narratives
poses a unique challenge. Given the commonality of themes such as self-discovery and altruism,
finding a fresh and genuine perspective is essential to captivate the reader's attention. It requires
creative thinking and a keen awareness of how to present a unique angle on a topic that has been
explored by countless others.
In conclusion, writing an essay on community service demands more than just recounting
personal experiences. It requires a delicate balance between the individual and the communal, an
exploration of emotions, and the ability to present a unique perspective amidst common themes.
While challenging, it provides an opportunity for introspection and growth, both as a writer and
as an individual.

The 1907 Financial Panic and the 2008 Financial Crisis
Introduction
The United States economy along with most developed countries experience
cycles of booming years, which are also subject to periods of economic
contractions. The cycles in an economy are dependent on many factors and
recognizing historical trends can provide forecasts to where an economy is heading
and reduce recurring mistakes. Mark Twain once said, History does not repeat itself,
but it occasionally rhymes. (Carr) The Great Recession of 2008 precisely emphasizes
Twain s historical understanding with respect to the Panic of 1907. Almost exactly
100 years after the financial crisis of 1907, the poem known as The United States
economy, holds a stanza rhyming it with the 2008 financial crisis. The tail of these
two events is compared to better understand the elements in an effort to rhyme the
next line of the poem with a new set of syllables. Before understanding these
elements, a financial crisis is defined as A situation in which the value of financial
institutions or assets drops rapidly. A financial crisis is often associated with a panic
or a run on the banks, in which investors sell off assets or withdraw money from
savings accounts with the expectation that the value of those assets will drop if they
remain at a financial institution. (Investopedia)
1907 Financial Panic
During the early 20th century, the expansion of industry and finance throughout the
United States had grown so large that it required some form of centralized monetary
control. The daily
The Tragedy Of Queen Mary
In a country already unstable, the news of Queen Mary s actions during her reign
shook the rickety balance between chaos and peace. Thirty years after King Henry
VIII broke away from the Catholic Church, installed a new religion into English
culture, and citizens lived in a country where Catholicism was outlawed, the
Marian Era began. The Marian Era lasted from 1553 1558, and will forever be
remembered as a dark and dangerous time. If one was asked who they knew from
the English monarchy during the 16th Century, many will answer Bloody Mary .
Everyone knows about the dreaded Queen Bloody Mary, but hardly anyone really
knows why. Sparking the question: Why was Queen Mary one of the most hated
queens in English history? The lasting hate from Queen Mary s reign was due in
part by her attempts to revive Catholicism in a Protestant England, killing a mass of
English citizens, and her overall failures as a queen.
Much to the protest of many of England s Protestant citizens, one of Mary s main
goals as queen was to restore Catholicism as England s primary, and only, religion.
Even though Kings Henry VIII and Edward both outlawed Catholicism in England,
Mary still practiced in secret. Thirty years prior, when King Henry VIII renounced the
Catholic Church, he created his own; therefore creating a brand new religion:
Protestantism. As a result, Catholicism was made illegal and considered heretics if
found attending Mass or accepting Communion (Royal Household 1). Mary s first
Use Life Insurance
How to Use Life Insurance to Fund Your Retirement
We are taught many things about money while growing up. Ever since we got our
first piggy bank, our parents tried to teach us the importance of saving money.
Mostly, we just saved it until we had enough to buy what it was that we were
saving for, be it that cool GI Joe or Barbie doll. As we got older and got our first jobs,
our parents encouraged us further by making sure we had a savings account and
helping us figure out how much we should be saving, whether it be for college or for
our first car.
As we got even older and entered into the realm of adulthood, we needed to save for
weddings, houses, children and retirement. Retirement is definitely the farthest

While there are good times, there are also bad times. The problem is you have no
way of knowing to get out before it gets bad. So what can you do? Where is the
best place to put aside money for your future that will grow as predicted and be
shielded from the problems of the stock market? A place where you don t have to
worry about how taxes are going to affect it or punish you? You should consider life
insurance as a supplement retirement income.
Whole life insurance or indexed universal life insurance has a cash value to it that can
be greatly beneficial to you in the future by paying out. Mainstream financial advice
pretty much ignores this use of life insurance, but does depict it as a necessary
expense. The viewpoint of using it for death benefits is more often cited as a reason
to get life insurance, but you can also use it to fund your future.

Commuter Trains In The 1800 s
Trains developed in the early 1800 s. Because of railroads, commuter trains became
an important of the american history. Commuter train is also known as suburban
train. Commuter trains help transport people from places to places. Many people use
the commuter trains in their everyday live. It also created a change in the industry,
and allowed humans to expand. The train became a way where people transportgoods
and resources in matter of days instead of months. As centuries goes on and with the
advancement in technology, commuter trains have evolved into more efficient and
significant part of people s live.
The first trains were called locomotives. It was a steam engine train created by
Matthew Murray. It is a simple and slow train, but still ... Show more content on

As of right now, scientists are coming up new advance projects to power, and will
help add intelligence to the transportation system. The advancement will help
decrease carbon dioxide emissions, traffic delays, and the cost. This will also make
commuting and travel more efficient. The cost will be lower due to not building
railroad tracks. The traffic will decrease due to the various sensors to guide the trains
on the road. It will make commuting and travel more efficient because the units can
detach and going different directions. Another resource scientist might use is
magnetic levitation(maglev). To create a maglev at high speeds of travel, the train
needs to run off of electro magnetism. Also the train need a strong enough force and
large enough electrical power
Korean Air 801
WHAT HAPPENED?
The day of August 6, 1997 was a time that changed the Korean Airlines Flight 801.
Korean Airlines was operating a Boeing 737 300 when it crashed into a high terrain
towards the Won Guam International Airport in Agana, Guam which was about three
miles southwest.
Operating under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), Flight 801 was in route from the
Seoul, Korea Kimpo International Airport. On board there were two pilots, one
flight engineer, 14 flight attendants and 237 passengers when they impacted Nimitz
Hill while on an approach to runway 6L. The results of this terrible crash were
fatalities for 228 people of the 254 on board.

There are recommendations for the various groups that were assisting in the
investigation of this accident. The recommendations that were directed to the Korean
Civil Aviation Bureau was that they would require them to revise video training for
Guam to emphasize that instrument approaches should be expected. They also
wanted them to go into detail with these approaches and any terrain that should be of
question. They wanted to make sure that the Aviation Bureau would conduct
thorough training for the approaches that had terrain close to the airport. The Federal
Aviation Administrationdefinitely had their work cut out for them because there is
a great deal of recommendations specifically intended towards them. Possibly
create an advisory or report that would put Guam International Airport in a
different category and only those that had certain upgrades or training would be
permitted to fly there. The air traffic control controllers needed to trained and
reminded of following the ATC protocol. Consider work on the glide slope and the
approach procedures that could be alerted in training sessions or circular advisories.
If a new approach was going to be implemented then it would be necessary that they
would be aware of the changes. The United States air carrier POIs to ensure that the
air carrier pilots would conduct briefings for instrument approach that backs up the
visual approaches conducted at night or when
Prejudice And Stereotypes
Prejudice is a hostile or negative attitude toward people in a distinguishable group.
We can all be affected by prejudice for the things that make us different from one
another. Our brain naturally puts people into different categories, and the differences
can influence our preference of them. When we put people in different categories, we
often make assumptions about these categories based off of their differences.
Schemas are a mental shortcut that allows us to think about something faster. As we
are growing up, we are making a ton of schemas for everything, including groups of
people. A stereotypecan be a schema because they think of a group of people as
something and easily associate the characteristics and the group of people. These

Soon, everytime Rosa speaks to you, she speaks loudly because she assumes you
cannot hear her from past experience. This confirms your belief that Rosa, and
other people of that group, are loud. There is also the issue of stereotype, this is in
which victims are concerned that if they follow a common stereotype about them,
they are confirming it and not helping the situation, making it worse. For example,
in my experience, because I am Hispanic, people assume that I really like spicy
food. Sometimes, I feel that I should express how much I like spicy food because I
worry that it just confirms people s stereotypes about Hispanic people so I am
tempted to act unlike myself and lie in order for them to believe differently.
Stereotype threat can also affect victims because they are reminded of their
stereotype and subconsciously act towards that stereotype. For example, the
stereotype that women are not as smart as men in math and science are likely to do
poorly on tests that remind them of that stereotype ( Indicating you are a woman on
the test before you
Julius Caesar Rhetorical Analysis Essay
Murder can be defined as the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by
another. In Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, Brutus and his conspirators murder Caesar
and convince the people of Rome that it was a justified act. Mark Antony, a friend of
Caesar, seeks justice for his dear friend. In his funeral speech Antony uses rhetorical
strategies to persuade the Romans that Caesar s death was unjustified. Through
persuasion, Antony uses the strategies: rhetorical questions, verbal irony and the
appeal of pathos to sway the Romans to believe that Caesar s murder was unjust.
Furthermore, Antony s use of rhetorical questions has an effect on the opinions of the
citizens of Rome. Antony effectively uses rhetorical questions to get the Romans to
agree that Caesar s murder was unjustified. He asks rhetorical questions in order to
get the people to consider what he is saying and possibly change their minds. After
telling the citizens of Rome about how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses Caesar s dead body to appeal to the emotions of the crowd and convince
them that Caesar s death was unjustified. Antony appeals to the citizens emotions,
when he states, If you have tears, prepare to shed them now...Here is himself,
marred, as you see, with traitors (III.ii.163 192). In this passage Antony focuses the
crowd s attention on Caesar s body and tells them how his murder was a product of
treason. In telling the romans that Caesar was killed by his friends, whom he
trusted, Antony appeals to the emotions of the crowd. The citizens of Rome are
clearly affected by Antony s use of pathos when they respond with O piteous
spectacle (III.ii.192), O Woeful day (III.ii.193) and We will be revenged
(III.ii.195). The citizens realize it is a sad day and feel pity for Caesar indicating an
effective appeal of pathos. Antony effectively appeals to the Roman s emotions
because they are starting to want revenge for Caesar s unjustified
Why Do Monarch Butterflies Move
Mexico was once the locations where large colonies of monarch butterflies migrated
to. However in the recent years the size of the colonies have began to shrink. The
monarch butterflies tend to hibernate in the winter in reserve forests. It is believed
one reason for the decline of monarch butterflies migrating to the reserve forests in
Mexico is because of the number of insects in these forests had increased along with
the destruction of these forrest. Another reason for monarch butterflies migrating to
these different areas is to follow their food source which is the milkweed. The
milkweed was at one time found in large numbers through out Canda. However due to

Lumsden Road Observation Report
INVESTIGATION: On 09 01 2015 at 0750 hours, I was notified of a fatal traffic
crash that occurred at the intersection of Kings Avenue and Lumsden Road. I
responded to the crash scene and upon arrival at approximately 0800 hours, I was
assigned as to forensically map the scene. I observed a silver Lexus GS 300 sedan,
stopped within the outside lane of Lumsden Road, east of Kings Avenue. The Lexus
had damage to the front bumper, left front quarter panel, hood, windshield and roof.
The damage was caused when the Lexus struck the bicyclist. West of the silver
Lexus and stopped in the median lane of westbound of Lumsden Road, was a tan

There was a black backpack lying south of and next to the bicyclist. The green hat
belonging to the bicyclist was lying on the roadway, just to the southwest of the
bicyclist. A cell phone, and cell phone holder were found within the inside,
eastbound lane of Lumsden Road, just east of the marked crosswalk. The mirror
from the driver door mirror from the Lexus was found lying near the center of the
eastbound lanes of Lumsden Road, also just east of the marked crosswalk. I
forensically mapped the crash scene using a Sokkia Total Station. (Serial #:
147397) The data collected at the scene was downloaded into the Cad Zone 9.4.92
Drawing Program. A scale diagram of the scene was completed and a copy of the
downloaded points was printed. There were evidence cones that had been set up on
the crosswalk markings, on the west side of Kings Avenue, across the eastbound
lanes of Lumsden Road. At the time the cones were mapped, it was unknown that
the cones had been moved or hit and were no longer properly marking the
crosswalk. When the diagram was completed, I used a satellite image of the
intersection to place the crosswalk. I also used the satellite image to place the island
median on the southwest corner of the intersection as well as the crosswalk on the
south side of the intersection.

Through the model female forebears endeavor, nowadays, women have obtained an
impartial position in most areas, including higher education, skilled occupation and
even politics. Title IX of the Civil Rights Law Act, states No person in the United
States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the
benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity

However, it became clear that women have approached a new battle of campaigning

Augustine s Lust
In book II, Augustine begins with a deep confession of his sexual desires in his
youth. He is eager to seek for erotic pleasure through his adolescence, as he says I
ran wild in the shadowy jungle of erotic adventures (p.24, i(I)). As Augustine grows
up, he starts to realize that the motivation for his act is to loveand to be loved.
However, he struggles between the pleasure of love and the iniquity of lust because
he fails to learn that there should be a constraint between two. He believes that God s
rage and anger is the punishment for his indulgence and makes him suffer from
troubles and unhappiness. When Augustine was sixteen, his father raised funds in
order to send him to Carthage to study. His father was praised because he tried...

He argues that he stole things not because he admired them; instead, he enjoyed
the feeling of committing crime and being evil. He and his friends sneaked into
the vineyard to steal pears, and they throw them to pigs; they did this merely
because they enjoyed the excitement of doing things that were not allowed.
Augustine argues that the good spiritual things exist in the world because God
creates them; if a person aims to acquire them, he has to obey the law and cannot
apart from God. However, the world also has attractiveness because of the beauty of
inferior things. The motivation for a crime is that they believe those inferior objects
are more attractive, compared with God s giving. The pears that Augustine and his
friend stole was beautiful, tasty, and could bring them true happiness, but this
happiness was not what they were seeking for. Augustine wants to figure out the
reason he acts in this way. He discussed that every desire no matter good or bad is
actually the desire to be like God. For instance, pride relates to being noble, and God
has the highest status among everything; curiosity represents the ambition to acquire
the knowledge, and God is the most intelligent and wise. On the contrary, ignorance
and stupidity derives from simplicity and innocence; however, there is no doubt that
God consists the most simplicity and blamelessness. Idleness shows a desire to obtain
quiet life, yet God keeps stable and unchanging forever. Therefore, Augustine
concludes that all acts, including sinful ones, that move away from God s perfection
actually seeks to return to
Interest Groups Essay
An interest group is an organized group of people that come together to attempt to
influence policymakers in any level of government. They influence the different
levels of government by giving money to a political candidate. They write letters,
emails, and make phone calls to the policymakers. They attempt to get the
policymakers to make legislation reflecting the objectives of the group (This Nation,
2008). Americans choose to join these interest groups because they are motivated by
the group s objectives. They believe the group will protect their interest within the
political realm. For an example, a Texas restaurant owner might join the local

The first one is lobbying. This the practice of talking with policymakers to persuade
them to support a certain legislation. It also includes testifying before congressional
committees for or against a proposed legislation (Schmidt, S., et al., 2011, p.151).
The ratings game is where the group identify the legislation that consider most
important to goals then monitor how policymakers voted on it. The legislators then
receive scores based on their votes, on a range from 0 to 100%. A 100 percent means
that the policymaker voted with the group on every issue (Schmidt, S., et al., 2011,
p.151). Campaign assistance is the form of group members are able to work for the
political campaigns, including precinct workers to get out the vote. volunteers to put

(Schmidt, S., et al., 2011, p.152). They generate public pressure by producing
advertisements in magazines and newspapers, mass mailings, and TV, and

of this activity is to convince policymakers that the public supports the group s
position in a proposed legislation (Schmidt, S., et al., 2011, p.152). The interest group

How Did Norman Bates Become A Psycho
A loving and conscientious man; hardworking and dedicated, who desires to live in
a better society. That was the world s first impression of Norman Bates, but behind
the charm was his hidden personality. So, how does someone like him, become a
psycho? Was Norman Bates, born a psycho, or was he turned into one because of his
environment? There are many perspectives of psychologythat will provide a fuller
understanding of Norman Batesbehavior.
From a Psychodynamic perspective, Norman s behavior springs from unconscious
desires and childhood conflicts. Norman s unconscious desires are to please his
mother. Based on the Famous novel, Psycho, Norman s mother, was very controlling.
She mentally and physically abused him; and also drilled into his brain that all
women, except herself, are dirty, untrustworthy, and evil. She taught him to never let
himself have feelings for women. Once Norman was physically attracted to a woman,
he would black out and murder her. When he snapped out of it, he wouldn t
remember a thing. His unconscious state, unlocked many unconscious motives.

The psychological standpoint, would back up the idea that Norman s behavior is

he has been through with his mother. The biological point of view, blames genetics
for mental illnesses. As mentioned before, Norma Bates is also unstable and her
actions display a mental illness, which can be the cause of Norman s abnormality.
Next, there is the social cultural stance, which would claim that peer pressure, or
stress from society is a causing factor. The combination of these three perspectives,
indicate that not only one factor causes people, in this case Norman, to act out or to

The Myths behind King Arthur
King Arthur In this paper will be discussed the myths behind King Arthur. King
Arthur was a British legend and over time the stories became a collection of stories
written by different authors. King Arthur was actually a general in the fifth century
that fought to keep Brittan a free paradise of the western hemisphere. With the
different writers over the years writing about the great King Arthurthe stories got
distorted and became more of myth than that of truth of the real King Arthur. The
first writings of King Arthur were around 830 by an author by the name of Nennius,
according to the Britons. There are many writings in existence today, as many as 200
over King Arthur. Much of the myths of King Arthur and the legends of Merlin and
Guinevere are what people read today. Much of these are myths and not actual facts,
though all started out with the actual life facts of King Arthur from his birth in
Tintagel to his death, they just got bent out of shape with the different writers over
the years. King Arthur was actually Lucius Artorius Castus, Arthur s name was
originally Artorius, a family name. This is where King Arthur became more of a
myth than a real person. The myths became more widespread when the marriage of
Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine in France. This is where the more romantic and
spiritual myths began about King Arthur. In this time the author Chretien de Troyes
of the French court wrote about the Holy Grail. This is one of the first of
Inversion Persuasive Essay
Some people may think the idea of being inverted upside down doesn t fall under the
category of fun. While it might take some getting used to, the benefits of suspending
your body in an inverted position are tremendous.
The idea has been around a lot longer than you might think. Inverting the human body
has long been a practiced art of both medicine and therapy. Today, using a unique
type of inversion swing, it s found its way into the ancient practice of yoga.
Inversion Therapy
The practice of inversion has been around for centuries. There are descriptive
pictorial drawings of the concept, which date back to 3,000 B.C. Inversion therapy is
used all over the world by medical professionals, physical therapist and athletic
trainers.

В·Back Pain
One of the most frequently reported benefits of different types of inversion therapy
is the reduction in back pain. Chiropractors use different types of inversion
equipment to reduce compression problems between the vertebrae. The spinal cord is
the single most important part of the active body, so the benefits garnered from using
an inversion swing can be dramatic.
Unlike standard inversion boards, or gravity boots that suspend you upside down by
your ankles, an inversion swing allows you to move. This is an excellent tool to help
with back issues because it removes the forces of gravity.
As you invert your body, the compression between your vertebrae is eliminated. It
allows you to improve your posture and work on increasing flexibility if you suffer
from a chronic stiff back. Regular use of an inversion swing for back problems
reduces pain as it helps develop a better
Us Foreign Policy Of Containment Essay
The U.S. foreign policy of containment was unsuccessful because the U.S. failed to
fully prevent the spread of communism throughout the world. The policy of
containment in the U.S. is when we tried to prevent communism in the Soviet
Union during the Cold War. This policy was unsuccessful because communism
was more favored in the world than democracy was. Everyone believed this was
the right way to live due to the Great Depression which left everyone poor and
wanting to be equal with each other. This caused people to lean towards
communism, which is the idealism of everyone being equal by getting paid the
same for all different types of jobs, and sticking to one job that you re assigned to.
This policy was unsuccessful for many reasons, but the top three events that caused
this policy to fail are the Korean War, the Bay of Pigs invasion, and the Chinese Civil
War. The Korean War was fought between North Korea and South Korea in 1950.
North and South Korea clashed ideas because North was communist and the South
was democratic. North Korea invaded the South. The U.S. were allies with the South
because they were democratic, so we gave them weapons to help support them in the

optimization and many more. In family of swarm new algorithm is called glowworm
optimization algorithm based on the concept of luciferin. The luciferin collects the
similar agent of glow and proceeds the minimum distance for the processing of lights.
Such concept used for the reduction of feature in cyber attack classification. The
reduce attribute classified by well know classifier is called support vector machine.
The combination of support vector machine and glowworm swarm optimization
performs very well in compression of pervious feature reduction technique. The
proposed algorithm is implemented in MATLAB software, for the validation of
algorithm used KDDCUP99 dataset.

The Dangers Of Alzheimer s Disease
One of mankind s greatest threats to its wellbeing is Alzheimer s disease. This
disease has plagued mankind for centuries and mercilessly strips people of their
independence and intelligence. What makes this disease so dangerous is the fact
that humankind has only recently begun to truly understand how it functions, this
means that humankind currently has no defense against said disease. Why does
mankind only now understand Alzheimer s disease if it has been around for
centuries? The reason is due to the lack of knowledge of the disease, especially by
the public. If one were to go back only fifty years ago they would see just how little
attention Alzheimer s disease received; few people knew about it and even fewer
were; concerned enough to actually bother learning about it. Logically this brings
to mind the question: what caused this relatively sudden shift in perception of the
disease? It is no coincidence that the disease is now widely known and identified
as a threat by the public and doctors alike. Several factors caused this shift to
happen. Everything starts with properly informing the public about these types of
issues, for this reason, this paper will serve the purpose of properly informing the
reader on Alzheimer s disease. To do this, it will go back to the very beginning and
trace the timeline of the disease. Once this basic foundation of understanding is
created, the paper will begin to delve into the complexities and causes of the disease,
and ultimately
Nitration of Methyl Benzoate
NITRATION
OF
METHYL
BENZOATE

 Purpose:
The
main objective of this experiment was to synthesize methyl nitrobenzoate from
methyl benzoate, using the mixture of nitric and sulfuric acid by performing the
process of electrophillic aromatic substitution. During this reaction, the combination
of HNO3 and H2SO4 made a nitrating solution. The crystallization was done to
accomplish pure product. The melting point and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC)
were performed to test the purity of the product. Using the methyl benzoate reaction
product, methyl nitrobenzoate, one can determine the meta substituted, para
substituted and orthosubstituted of the final products. Furthermore, HNMR and IR
used to investigate the quality of the product.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This would indicate that during the recrystallization there was a reduction in the
percentage yield of the production. The obtained final product melting point rang
was 76.2 780C. This would show that the experimental melting point was very
close to the literature value of 78 80В°C which denotes the meta substituted of the
product. So, the analysis of the melting point confirmed that the product was
methyl meta nitrobenzoate as it was anticipated. Additionally, use of the melting
point analysis shows that NO2 group could be added to the methyl benzoate at the
meta position successfully. The ortho and para products could have been also
analyzed during the experiment; however, they were not chosen for the product
(methyl benzoate) because they have unstable resonance forms that have positive
charges near one another. The two positive charges that are next to one another
can make the product to be unstable and as result ortho and para substituted
products are not favorable in this electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction. Also,
an IR of the product confirmed that methyl m nitrobenzoate as a favorable. A peak
located at 1536.1cm showed of the Aromatic C=C. At the 1351.8cm 1 there is a 1

Tone Of Howl By Allen Ginsberg
Allen Ginsberg in his work, Howl tries to present a social commentary and a
revolution. Allen presents the struggle of the time when social pressures were
quickly building up, and a revolution was necessary which would free people from
all forms of oppression. Allen presents his experiences which is an encounter with
his friend whom he met in a mental institution. Allen uses several literary
techniques to present the insanities in life and how people continue to struggle
with it in life which ends up in tragedies and cries. Throughout the poem, Allen
uses an elegiac tone which is a tone of mourning. From the very first line, the
reader is prepared for what will follow in the subsequent lines and stanzas. In the
first line, Allen says he is outraged, and that is why is crying out to the world to
stop the destruction of a generation. In general, Allen is crying about the
oppression and subjugation in the society. The speaker in the poem appears to be
smart. The speaker s words do not come out in a proper order which makes the
reader imagine that he was from a long sleep and he has been awakened by the
reality of things and he wants us to join him through his lane and tell us what he
saw. The speaker does not use proper English, and there is a lot of syntax in the
verses which help the reader in understanding that the person speaking is drugged or
has some mental illness. For Allen, he embodies the mental illness of his friend he is
dedicating the poem too in a mental

Galileo Ganymede s Influence On Galilean Moon
In 1610 on the 7th of January four moons, called the Galilean moons were
discovered by Galileo Galilei. Using his homemade telescope he observed them for
many nights, he drew notes and recorded the movement in a journal (Figure 3).
Ganymede is one of the largest, most well known moons of Jupiter and it is also the
largest satellite in our solar system. It is larger than Mercury and Pluto, and three
quarters the size of Mars. If Ganymede didn t orbit Jupiteras moonit would easily be
classified as a planet. Ganymede is also the only known moon to have a
magnetosphere, a magnetosphere is a region surrounding the moon in which its
magnetic field is the predominant effective magnetic field. In Figure 1 you can see

The field of view of the telescope was 0.46 degrees with an angular resolution of
10.16 microradians/pixel. The camera was operated in eight filtered band passes
from 350 1100 nm. The eight position filter wheel, consisted of three broad band
filters: red (671nm), green (559nm), violet (404nm). These broad band filters
allowed for the reconstruction of visible colour photographs. Light was collected
by the primary mirror and directed to a smaller secondary mirror that channelled it
through a hole in the centre of the primary mirror and onto the CCD. There are two
types of telescopes, Refracting and Reflecting. The refracting telescope works by
using two lenses to focus the light and make it look like the object is closer to you
than it is. Its curved primary lens gathers light, bends it and sends it back to the
focal point where it is further modified by the use of another set of lenses called the
eyepiece. A reflecting telescope is an optical telescope which uses a single lens or a
combination of curved mirrors that reflect light and form an

Real estate agents draft the agreement of purchase and sale and make sure
everything is up to par for closing. They receive commissions from the seller. Their
fraud usually concerns falsifying the value of the property.
Lender is the financial institution that approves the borrower loan application in order
to acquire the home. In most cases the lenders are the financial victims.
Mortgage Brokers may or may not be involved in obtaining financing. Their
involvement is at the discretion of the borrower. Mortgage broker may act for both
the seller and borrower. They can assist the applicant in completing the loan
application submitted to the lender as well as collect and review the various
documents needed to support the applications. Mortgage brokers are paid fee or
commission by the lender; therefore they are influenced to close as many loans as
possible.
Appraiser asses the market value of a property so that the value of the property is
within the lender s loan guidelines. They researched information on the property
such as the legal address, description, assessment, property tax and age of home.
Appraisals are estimates and are subjective in nature. They are hired by the mortgage
company and paid at closing. If they are party to mortgage fraud they will inflate the
value of the property.

The Taming Of The Shrew And The Merchant Of Venice
This week s Lecture was focused on the third play in the four comedies book named
The Merchant of Venice . This play was known for being controversial but also very
interesting play that captured the attention of the viewers. Shakespeare s The
Merchant of Venice is set in Renaissance Venice, with a few scenes in a town called
Belmont. The setting is important Venicewas one of the wealthiest towns in Europe,
as it was right on the sea, with excellent shipping facilities for trading with the east.
During this time, there was a large population of Jew s in Europe, although 16th
century Venice was more tolerant of foreigners than Elizabethan England, Jews in
Venice were confined to ghettos at the time Shakespeare wrote The Merchant of
Venice. If a person compares The Merchant of Venice , to the other Shakespeare s
plays that have been covered in this class already and also to the ones that have not
be covered yet, such as As You Like It or Much Ado About Nothing , some common
features can be found throughout each of these plays. Some of the common features
are: Multiple plots, Dual settings, Games/Trials/Practical Jokes/Music, Love Vs.
Friendships/Multiple Marriages, Different types of relationships and a comic villain.
Each of these features will be explained in greater details.
Multiple plots can be seen in The Taming of the Shrew , between Bianca Lucentio,
Kat Petruchio, and many more. Multiple plots can also be seen in Midsummer Night

Baroque, The Era Of Baroque Art And The Baroque Period
Baroque is a style in art. It is an era of artistic style that used sensational motion and
obvious, easily interpreted features to produce drama, tension, and magnificence in
architecture, sculptures, paintings, literature, theatre, dance and music. Baroque art is
usually very frisky and has several ornaments.
It was between the styles of Renaissance and Neoclassicism. This means it began at
the begging of the 16th century (around 1600), at that time, there were absolutist
monarchs in Europe. The movement started in Italy. It then spread to the Catholic
countries in Europe. Eventually it also spread to the Protestant ones.
The success and popularity of the Baroque style was backed up by the Catholic
Church. The Catholic Church expressed that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Late Baroque, c. 1660 1725 or later
The development of Baroque
The Baroque arose around 1600, a few decades after the Council of Trent, by which
the Roman Catholic Church was agreed that the representational arts, by that
paintings and sculptures in church contexts was healthy because it speaks to the
illiterate rather than to the well informed. Many art experts see this turn toward a
popular concept of the function of churchly art as motivating the innovations of the
brothers Annibale and Agostino Carracci and of Caravaggio, all of whom were
working in Rome and rival for commissions.
The word Baroque comes from the Portuguese word barocco which means
something like unusual . In Portuguese, it was first used for irregularly shaped
pearls, but then it was first used in France to mean works of art that did not follow
the current trend.
Sculptures
Some representatives assumed new importance in Baroque sculptures and there was
actually a positive movement and energy of human forms. For the first time, Baroque
sculpture usually had many ideal viewing angles so, that from wherever you stand
you would see amazing scenery. The features Baroque sculpture added additional
sculptural components, for example, water fountains or concealed
Curriculum In Philippine Curriculum
The only permanent thing in the world is change. Even educational systems change.
Philippine educational system has undergone numerous modifications since its very
beginning. In Pre Spanish time, education was informal and there was no room for
studying. Boys were taught how to look for food and their needs by their father and
girls were taught how to do household chores by their mother. They used their own
alphabet called Alibata to read and write. It was composed of 17 symbols which
represents the letters of the alphabet. When the Spanish conquered Philippines,
educationbecame formal. Schools from primary level to tertiary level were
established by the Religious orders. Because of this, education focused in Christianity
and Christian Doctrines. Eventually, changes transpired when Americans occupied
Philippines for 45 years. In line with their colonization, free education in all public
schools was given by Commonwealth. At that time, the importance of nationalism, the

special needs. Their programs are designed to fit the needs of the various types of
disabilities and limitations of these children and teenagers. I worked with children
ages 7 9 for one hour twice a week at Hampstead elementary and Parkdale
elementary; I worked with children with ASD and children with ADHD. The program
consisted of routine and structured activities and tasks that allowed the children to
increase their physical activityand reduce negative behaviours (inattentiveness,

Throughout my placement, I focused mainly on two different children (1 from each
school); one child diagnosed with ADHD and the other child diagnosed with ASD.
According to Fortune (2017) ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental
disorders of childhood (Lecture 8, slide 2). A child by default already has high energy
levels and constantly needs to be active however according to Fortune (2017), ADHD
can be categorised in three types: predominantly inattentive presentation,
predominantly hyperactive impulsive presentation and combined presentation
(Lesson 8, slide 3). The child (Jon) with ADHD with whom I worked was diagnosed
with predominantly hyperactive impulsivity presentation. Jon had a hard time
waiting for activities to start, and once they did, he would not follow the rules
instead he would run up on the benches then come on the court to play with another
child who was not his partner then he would run back to the instructor to complain
he was bored and wanted to do other things (the same behaviors happened when we
switched activities). However, I developed an intervention plan for Jon so that he can
stay still long enough that he can focus on tasks and be able to participate with the
other children. The intervention plan stated that Jon needed to release his energy, and
gets bored very quickly, therefore, I came up with a schedule for Jon to follow

Theme Of Communication In The Hunger Games
Throughout the movie thriller The Hunger Games (2012), many aspects of
communication are threaded across the span of the whole movie. The movie, a
science fiction film, based in future North America sets a heart whelming, bloody,
and romantic plot for viewers as 12 sets of two (one boy and one girl) are chosen
from each of the twelve poor or rich districts of Panem (the base nation) to fight it out
for one winner in an area each year to prevent and remember the historic rebellion
from the past. There are many aspects of communication presented throughout each
stage of the movies, however, during the whole movie the top three elements that
stand out the most would be the amount of diversity in the different cultures, the
aspect of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lastly the nation s dimension of culture in action is expressed as a monochronic
culture because the people of the nation are always on a time schedule for work,
when to be indoors for the night, and when to be in the courtyard for meeting from
the capitol. The monochronic culture comes out again in Panem when the people
have to constantly be prepared and focused on on when the next games begin.
Another aspect of culture is the philosophy of cultural pluralism. The 12 districts of
Panem are so incredibly different from the next one over that they all express there
own unique difference and qualities to show that each district can be different but
still be associated with the same nation and not fall into the melting pot philosophy of
everyone blending into the same culture without any uniqueness. The Hunger Games
movie shows a variety of examples of the dimensions of culture expressed, and how it
is a distinguished unique nation in some good ways and many bad ways as well
throughout the movie. Throughout the culture of Panem a huge theme of the movie
is the relationships is expresses. These relationships can be expressed through the
communication aspects. Relationships have a big impact on many of the characters
in the movie. The communication element of interpersonal relationships is the main
relationship factor and it is defined as a meaningful, dyadic, person to person
The Theory Of The Mind And Behavior
It is difficult to tie together the infinite pools of facts about the history of Psychology.
We can trace it back to its roots, held deep in philosophy; even ancient Greek
philosophers such as Plato introduced the concept of Anamnesis, suggesting that we
are born with imprinted knowledge. Aristotle, a student of Plato, theorized the
concept that we were born a blank canvas and the development of our minds are
sculpted by our experience, demonstrating that modern psychological debates of
nature VS nurture, and interests of the functions of the mind, have been discussed for
centuries.
Psychology as we know it today is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. All
scientists whether chemists, biologists, physicists or psychologists must employ
scientific methods to study empirical data objectively. So I ve chosen to start in the
year 1879 with the official opening of the first psychology laboratory by German
physiologist Wilheim Wundt 1832 1920, although, nowadays his methods of
experimental introspection are criticized for being too subjective and unreliable, his
introduction to the idea of using laboratory apparatus and scientifically measuring
Psychology, watered the seed for the growth of Psychology as a science for future
psychologists. Such as his student Edward Titchener, who went on to found the first
school of thought Structuralism using reductionism to analyze the reduced elements
of human consciousness

Essay about Evolution of Goaltending in the NHL
Today, the term hockey describes differing games in various parts of the world, but
specifically in North America it refers to as ice hockey. In its origin, hockey is one of
the oldest games played. The earliest mention of the sport of hockey dates back to
1572, when it was on a list of prohibited games. Hockey s birthplace is believed to be
in Asia and authorities credit Persiawith having devised it about 2000 BC. People
who perfected the game of polomust have known quot;hockey on the ground quot;
before quot;hockey on horseback quot;. Certainly though ice hockey originated in
Canada. Two theories have surfaced as to who really came up with ice hockey.

the organization which was limited to six teams and added another six teams

and two defensemen who form the setup of players of that play the game of

Suited up in their equipment, they are the most essential part of an ice hockey
team. But the position of goaltending has really evolved from when hockey was

position have evolved over the years; the equipment used, the physical and mental
abilities of the goaltenders, the style of play, and the rule changes of the NHL
which have forced goalies to change the way they play their game. In the early years,
goalies were not very well protected. Having to stop frozen discs of

Liberty And Justice For All By Francis Bellamy
...One Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and Justice for all... (pledge of

Few phrases evoke American patriotism in the same magnitude as the pledge of
allegiance. Written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, he hopped to inspire americans and
remind people of what makes america great. In the final line liberty and Justice for
all , Bellamy summarized the ideals our country was founded on and what we should
continue to strive for as we grow as we continue into the future. That the government
should preserve the liberty of its people. Liberty is described as the state of being free

Communism is an exact example of the result of this type of government dogma.
Citizens cannot own property, cannot choose their jobs, and have no say in their way
of life. The government owns everything and allots it to its citizens as it sees
fit(citation). While communism promises equality for all, this does not mean
prosperity for all. Almost all citizens suffer with poorer quality of life, poorer
environments, and often terrible working conditions. Without the motivation, or
proper faculties to work, many communist regimes are toppled by financial ruin,
unable to produce the money to maintain itself. By allowing citizens to choose their
own occupation, production in a county increases massively. the highest functioning
communist country (china) produces just over half as much as the lowest
functioning free nation (Estonia), China only producing $6,807.43 per capita
compared to Estonia s $18,783.04. The economic difference between liberty and
security becomes even more clear cut when compared to countries like the United
Kingdom ($41,787.41 GDP per capita) and the United States ($53,041.98 GDP per

Social, Political And Economic Implications Of Money
Throughout the course of this semester, we have examined the role of money in our
society and have been introduced to scholars and economists that have offered
rationale for the social, political and economic implications of money. One
overwhelming theme that has lingered throughout most of the readings and lectures
is the idea of inequality, particularly within the scope of the American economy.
While other economies such as China or India are labor based economies, I have
found that America s Capitalist economy is fueled by multiple facets racial
inequality. The moral argument against racial inequality under an economic lens is
simple yet, expected; when we deny opportunities for people of color in the same
way we have them established... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Black men are being denied the chance of a full life with all of the rights; privileges
and opportunities of white men and similarly, the families/communities from which
they come from are also at a significant disadvantage. A National Bureau of
Research study found that Black families between 2004 2008 were 54% more likely
to be charged higher on their mortgage rates than white families. This fact alone
drives two main issues I will explore in this paper: the implications of socioeconomics
and how inequality drives the American economy through the lens of mortgage
lending.
One theorist I will use to explore these ideas of inequality is John Maynard
Keynes. Keynes argued that capitalism is a mere congery of possessors and
pursuers (Keynes 60) and he also asserted that economic output is only based on the
aggregate demand . Between 2004 2008, when Black families were getting charged
higher interest rates on their homes than white families with similar incomes, large
banks were pocketing millions of extra dollars from these families as many of the
rates today would have been considered sub prime rates .
This predatory act placed against people of color encouraged classism and as a result
led to negative socioeconomic outcomes moreover, the notion of white
Fukushima Energy Crisis
On March 11, 2011 Japan was rattled by a powerful earthquake and tsunami. When
the tsunami hit, thousands of lives were changed forever. The tsunami claimed lives,
destroyed homes, businesses, and roads and left an excessive amount of debris. The
impact of the tsunami also caused a major power outage which in turn caused a
nuclear meltdown/explosion at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear PowerPlant. With the
devastation of that day and the days that followed, there will be long term effects on
the environment and the quality of life of the Japanese people. When nuclear power
is used, there is a possibility of a nuclear meltdown and/or explosion, thus Japan
should not be using nuclear power as a source of energy.

The earthquake and resulting tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011 is likely to be
the costliest natural disaster on record ( Economic Impact of the Tsunami ). The

only for this generation but generations to come. The area is still riddled with

the area affected by the nuclear disaster is still desolate. No one really knows when

Server Controlled Multicast Chat System
SERVER CONTROLLED MULTICAST CHAT SYSTEM
INTRODUCTION
An assumption that is intrinsic to a basic communication involves two parties, the
server and the client. Here, our design is based on a chat application which involves
one to many communication (i.e., with one server and multiple clients, in which the
server acts as the central system administrator and has got control over all other
clients who wish to join the network.
BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE DESIGN: The Multicasting in java can be achieved
by using the sockets and thread concepts in the Java networking programming. We
consider two sockets, one in the server side that waits for the client messages on a
particular port and the other in the client side to receive messages from each ... Show

Once the user logs into the system with his/her credentials provided the server is
started intitially and is waiting for the clients, it starts storing all the actions
performed in a log called the Event log for the corresponding user session. It requires
the user to run the Client login program every time of a new user wants to connect.
The message sent by user hits the server first and the user makes it display on all
the screen of all other users who are online. This is the main focus of our design
and is implemented using the threading. Also, if a user logs off, all other users of
the group will be notified of it and the logged off users loses access over the
application. He has to login again to achieve a connection with the system once again.
SPECIAL ASSUMPTIONS: 1) A user who wishes to login can successfully login
with any name, provided the password is 12345 . The system is designed in such a
way for simplicity as this is not the main focus of our design.
2) Any multiple number of the users can login with the same username, because the
system treats them as different individuals as each and every client is referenced by a
unique id.
3) Once a user wishes to log off, he sends a Goodbye message and the server
disconnects him from the application and notifies to all other users currently
connected.
TESTING:
1) Our system works fine at both the circumstances, when the server
Alfred Lord Tennyson, Langston Hughes And Walt
Whitman
Three of the most well known Western genii of poetry are Alfred Lord Tennyson,
Langston Hughes and Walt Whitman. All of these men have exemplary traits and
attributes in their respective sectors of poetry. Tennyson, Hughes and Whitman all
played a major role in the world of poetry and many factors of theirs are still
influencing prose to this day. Despite being among the most influential poets of the
American canon, Walt wasn t born quoting Shakespearean poetry. He was born in
New York to a poor family and was the second of nine children. After concluding
formal schooling at the age of eleven, Walt started to work for the local printer. He
became an active member of his local library, joined a public speaking club, and
started watching theatrical performances. At his local library, he studied history,
theatre, literature, music, geography, and many other sciences. At the age of thirteen
Walt anonymously published his first ever poem in the New York Mirror . After a
temporary collapse of the printing industry and variety of different jobs, Whitman
started to indulge in freelance fiction and poetry writing.
Despite the fact that Walt Whitmanmay have seemed simple minded, he had a major
role in the world of poetry. Walt Whitman established a new kind of poetry called
free verse. Never before was a poet able to write a rhythm free poem without having
his/her poetry pushed away. Poetry is still known today as being rhythmic, but Walt
Whitman changed

Military Sufficiency
Issue is how much military capability is enough is it enough to have the same
capabilities as potential threats or should we pursue superior capabilities US leaders
have varied greatly on how much is enough Domestic strength
Important goal is to seek political cohesion, economic vitality, and good educational
policies at home because it will help country to prevail during war (increases
domestic support and morale)

national security, help develop weapons to compete with enemies, and allow
country to mobilize quickly in time of crisis World Order Some argue that balance of
power is best way to achieve world order
Others argue that we need to organize and civilize international politics to achieve
world order 4 variations on how to do this:

Kellogg Briand Pact) 3 Legislative approach League of Nations, UN

The Anatomy Of Colorectal Anatomy
Colorectal anatomy
The large intestine extends from the end of the ileum to the anus. It is about 1.5
meters long. It differs from the small intestine in its greater caliber, its more fixed
position, its sacculated form, and in possessing certain appendages to its external
coat, the appendices epiploicae. Further, its longitudinal muscular fibers do not form
a continuous layer around the gut, but are arranged in three longitudinal bands. The
large intestine is divided into the cecum, colon, rectum, and anal canal (Henry Gray
2004).
I The Cecum:
It is attached to the ileum and extends approximately two and one half inches below
it. The cecum in an adult usually is adherent to the posterior wall of the peritoneal
cavity and has a serosal covering on its anterior wall only. The cecum forms a blind
pouch from which the appendix projects (Henry Gray 2004).
Its size is variously estimated by different authors, but on an average it may be said
to be 6.25 cm in length and 7.5 cm in width. It rests on the iliacus psoas major
muscles, usually in contact with the anterior abdominal wall. (Henry Gray , 2004).
II The colon:
The colon functions as a reservoir moving its contents caudally toward the anal canal.
It is divided into four parts: the ascending colon, the transverse colon, the descending
colon, and the sigmoid colon ( Fenoglio et al,1999).
пЃ±Ascending colon:
It is approximately six inches long and extends upward from the ileo cecal valve to

Eli Lilly and Company Analysis
Eli Lilly and Company Analysis Overview of Eli Lilly: Eli Lilly and Company is a
pharmaceutical company that integrates many departments and supply chain
management. The company in itself discovers, develops, manufactures, and sells its
drug. The company s smaller segment also includes animal health business. They
manufactures and distribute its products through either leased or owned facilities
throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and several other countries (25), selling in

When a company goes bankrupt, intangible assets depreciate at a much faster rate
than regular assets; therefore, most pharmaceutical companies already tend to
avoid debt. Therefore, in this case a high current ratio does not indicate
unsatisfactory business condition, but a rather favorable and smart condition for
the company. The quick ratio of 1.46 is a further analysis into the actual monetary
values that are highly liquid and excluding fixed assets as part of the assets. The
CFO/Avg. current liabilities also show a healthy 73%, 28% in 2004, on average of
which is still higher than the industry. Thus, there is relatively no risk in the firm s
short term liquidity. Long Term Liquidity Risk: The long term liquidity risk ratio
such as LT debt/Equity, D/E, and Total Liabilities to Total Assets all show a decline
from year 2005 due to the repayment of debts. The interest coverage ratio also
shows a healthy number of 29.45 in comparison to the industrial average of 15.04
indicating a high ability to pay out its interest expense. Such a low relative risk is
not surprising due to the nature of its business depending heavily in R D
development and large intangible assets. Ratios aside, the patent of its older product
(mainly Zyprexa) will expire in 2011. However, the increased in the newer products
that accounts for total sales has increased to 24% from 18% in

nasal cannula to pass on the oxygen to the patient.
The yearly market for advantageous oxygen concentrators was at $242.5 million in
2012 and is required to climb to $1.9 billion by year 2019. The advancement is
inferable from new contenders coming into the market, enthusiasm for the lighter
development by buyers, and the need of more vital adaptability reinforce for the
elderly. The restriction is required to drive improvement, realizing lighter units and
lower costs.

Essay On Federal Government
Policy Advisor to the President the United States In this paper, I will be discussing
the partnership between federal, state, and local government regarding disasters.
Will be looking at some hurricanes that have hit the United States and see how the
partnership between the three governments took place. The hurricanes that we will
look at are Katrina, Sandy, Harvey and, Irma. Also see how the partnership is
effecting the people of the United States. Also, some other things that is happening
to government money that is for disasters. Katrina which hit New Orleans in 2005
as a Category 3 hurricane. First off, the people should have been made to evacuate
the city due to the chance of the levees could give way. Then the equipment and the

do anything. But as of right now the response for the of FEMA and the coast guard

the city back to normal. But this time the local, state, and federal government
partnership was all on the same book to getting things done and recusing people.
Even other states are sending their guard troops to help on relief efforts. FEME has
also deployed more than eighteen thousand staff and one million meals to the people
effected. Irma is the current hurricane hitting Florida. This time evacuation order was
put out but some people decided to stay. This time coast guard, FEMA, Federal
government and, State government are ready to provide shelters, food, support and,
any kind of medical assistants need. Some States are organizing guard troops before
the hurricane even hit so that they can be deployed right away. Federal funding is
made available to government and non profit organizations for emergencies in
Florida. The partnership between the government seems to be there for this
Globalization In Canada
1) Definition of globalization
пЃ¬Globalization is a new phenomenon that explains the process of international
integration, international trade and interchange increases. It began in the 1980 s and
continues to thrive as a basic characteristic of the world nowadays. Globalization
implies there is no barrier between countries.[did you mean physical/ economical
barriers? technically yes there is a barrier . make it concise.]
пЃ¬Globalization does not have a clear definition therefore it is often concluded in to
10 sections: science, economics, politics, law, management, organization, culture,
ideology, interpersonal relationship, international relations.

multinational electronics contract manufacturing company in Taiwan, which is the

Marshall Mcluhan s Theory Of The Media And
Communication...
Marshall McLuhan was a media and communication theorist and is considered the
first leading prophet of the electronic age but he was also the most controversial
and most talked about contemporary intellectuals. , he coined the phrase Medium
is the Message also know as Medium Theory. He was explaining the way in which
we absorb information from media, and how it isn t the information that affects us
but the way we absorb it. McLuhan said Indeed, it is only too typical that the
content of any medium blinds us to the character of the medium Medium Theory is
his most famous piece of work, Medium Theory was introduced in his 1964 book,
Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man . Which soon became known as the
bible of media studies. It is defined as the name assigned to a variety of approaches

The three main categories are medium as a vessel, medium as a language and
medium as a environment. Medium as a vessel refers to the idea That media are
more or less neutral containers for content . With reference to television, it doesn t
matter what the focus of the information presented is but rather that the television
brings across all information unbiased in the same demeanour. Medium as a language
reflect exactly what it sounds like, different mediums will express themselves in
different ways, with different slang or grammar to define the genre. With printed
mediums this could reflect in the format of the piece, the way in which something in
written and even font choice. The final category is medium as an environment, the
idea is derived from the concept that media has the ability to create and directly
influence our personal and individual experience within a mass population whether or

The Six Major Barriers Of Effective Communication
The Six Major Barriers of Effective Communication
Language can be loaded with meaning, beyond its dictionary definition. The
meaning of language is often encapsulated in culture from micro interpersonal to
macro international. Culture defines who we are and it is expressed in the language
we use. When culture is defined as a set of customs, traditions, beliefs, etc., it is
more than just a national identity: it is a Sunday social group, a visible minority or
youth group, a family run company, a corporate entity, a community. Culture
encompasses that which we identify with as a member of society whether it be a
large or small group within society. In today s world of business communication
using a common lingua franca such as English helps to make communication more
fluid but it is often not enough to bridge cross cultural gaps and common
misunderstandings. In our communication we need to be careful in the language we
use and the meaning we either knowingly or unknowingly impart on our listeners.
(Czako,K., 2015)
In our Business Communications text, the author (McLean, S. 2010) cites 6 major
barriers to communications. These major barriers are common in all languages
around the world and are therefore universal in their manifestation. They embody
the culture of a nation as much as they embody the daily life of a local community
group or individual. We identify with and use them on a daily basis. However their
place in a business setting is not always appreciated or

China. The northern part is the Loess Plateau, whereas the southern part contains the
Qinling Mountains, it has the warm temperate zone, during the summer season, it is

Essay On Community Service

  • 1. Essay On Community Service Crafting an essay on the subject of community service can present both challenges and opportunities for reflection. At its core, community service is a multifaceted concept, encompassing a range of experiences and perspectives. The difficulty lies in navigating this complexity and presenting a cohesive narrative that not only highlights personal involvement but also delves into the broader societal impact. One of the challenges is striking the right balance between personal anecdotes and the overarching significance of community service. The writer must seamlessly weave their individual experiences into a broader narrative that emphasizes the importance of contributing to the community. This requires careful thought and organization to ensure that the essay flows logically and coherently. Moreover, tackling the emotional aspect of community service can be demanding. The essay might delve into the transformative nature of such experiences, forcing the writer to navigate through a myriad of emotions and reflect on the personal growth that often accompanies community service endeavors. Expressing these sentiments in a sincere and impactful manner requires a certain level of introspection and vulnerability, adding another layer of complexity to the writing process. Furthermore, addressing the potential clichГ©s associated with community service narratives poses a unique challenge. Given the commonality of themes such as self-discovery and altruism, finding a fresh and genuine perspective is essential to captivate the reader's attention. It requires creative thinking and a keen awareness of how to present a unique angle on a topic that has been explored by countless others. In conclusion, writing an essay on community service demands more than just recounting personal experiences. It requires a delicate balance between the individual and the communal, an exploration of emotions, and the ability to present a unique perspective amidst common themes. While challenging, it provides an opportunity for introspection and growth, both as a writer and as an individual. For those seeking assistance with essays or exploring a variety of topics, a resource like HelpWriting.net can offer a range of options. • 2. The 1907 Financial Panic and the 2008 Financial Crisis Introduction The United States economy along with most developed countries experience cycles of booming years, which are also subject to periods of economic contractions. The cycles in an economy are dependent on many factors and recognizing historical trends can provide forecasts to where an economy is heading and reduce recurring mistakes. Mark Twain once said, History does not repeat itself, but it occasionally rhymes. (Carr) The Great Recession of 2008 precisely emphasizes Twain s historical understanding with respect to the Panic of 1907. Almost exactly 100 years after the financial crisis of 1907, the poem known as The United States economy, holds a stanza rhyming it with the 2008 financial crisis. The tail of these two events is compared to better understand the elements in an effort to rhyme the next line of the poem with a new set of syllables. Before understanding these elements, a financial crisis is defined as A situation in which the value of financial institutions or assets drops rapidly. A financial crisis is often associated with a panic or a run on the banks, in which investors sell off assets or withdraw money from savings accounts with the expectation that the value of those assets will drop if they remain at a financial institution. (Investopedia) 1907 Financial Panic During the early 20th century, the expansion of industry and finance throughout the United States had grown so large that it required some form of centralized monetary control. The daily
  • 3. The Tragedy Of Queen Mary In a country already unstable, the news of Queen Mary s actions during her reign shook the rickety balance between chaos and peace. Thirty years after King Henry VIII broke away from the Catholic Church, installed a new religion into English culture, and citizens lived in a country where Catholicism was outlawed, the Marian Era began. The Marian Era lasted from 1553 1558, and will forever be remembered as a dark and dangerous time. If one was asked who they knew from the English monarchy during the 16th Century, many will answer Bloody Mary . Everyone knows about the dreaded Queen Bloody Mary, but hardly anyone really knows why. Sparking the question: Why was Queen Mary one of the most hated queens in English history? The lasting hate from Queen Mary s reign was due in part by her attempts to revive Catholicism in a Protestant England, killing a mass of English citizens, and her overall failures as a queen. Much to the protest of many of England s Protestant citizens, one of Mary s main goals as queen was to restore Catholicism as England s primary, and only, religion. Even though Kings Henry VIII and Edward both outlawed Catholicism in England, Mary still practiced in secret. Thirty years prior, when King Henry VIII renounced the Catholic Church, he created his own; therefore creating a brand new religion: Protestantism. As a result, Catholicism was made illegal and considered heretics if found attending Mass or accepting Communion (Royal Household 1). Mary s first
  • 4. Use Life Insurance How to Use Life Insurance to Fund Your Retirement We are taught many things about money while growing up. Ever since we got our first piggy bank, our parents tried to teach us the importance of saving money. Mostly, we just saved it until we had enough to buy what it was that we were saving for, be it that cool GI Joe or Barbie doll. As we got older and got our first jobs, our parents encouraged us further by making sure we had a savings account and helping us figure out how much we should be saving, whether it be for college or for our first car. As we got even older and entered into the realm of adulthood, we needed to save for weddings, houses, children and retirement. Retirement is definitely the farthest removed, but the importance of ... As of right now, scientists are coming up new advance projects to power, and will help add intelligence to the transportation system. The advancement will help decrease carbon dioxide emissions, traffic delays, and the cost. This will also make commuting and travel more efficient. The cost will be lower due to not building railroad tracks. The traffic will decrease due to the various sensors to guide the trains on the road. It will make commuting and travel more efficient because the units can detach and going different directions. Another resource scientist might use is magnetic levitation(maglev). To create a maglev at high speeds of travel, the train needs to run off of electro magnetism. Also the train need a strong enough force and large enough electrical power

  • 7. Prejudice And Stereotypes Prejudice is a hostile or negative attitude toward people in a distinguishable group. We can all be affected by prejudice for the things that make us different from one another. Our brain naturally puts people into different categories, and the differences can influence our preference of them. When we put people in different categories, we often make assumptions about these categories based off of their differences. Schemas are a mental shortcut that allows us to think about something faster. As we are growing up, we are making a ton of schemas for everything, including groups of people. A stereotypecan be a schema because they think of a group of people as something and easily associate the characteristics and the group of people. These assumptions... This confirms your belief that Rosa, and other people of that group, are loud. There is also the issue of stereotype, this is in which victims are concerned that if they follow a common stereotype about them, they are confirming it and not helping the situation, making it worse. For example, in my experience, because I am Hispanic, people assume that I really like spicy food. Sometimes, I feel that I should express how much I like spicy food because I worry that it just confirms people s stereotypes about Hispanic people so I am tempted to act unlike myself and lie in order for them to believe differently. Stereotype threat can also affect victims because they are reminded of their stereotype and subconsciously act towards that stereotype. For example, the stereotype that women are not as smart as men in math and science are likely to do poorly on tests that remind them of that stereotype ( Indicating you are a woman on the test before you
  • 8. Julius Caesar Rhetorical Analysis Essay Murder can be defined as the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another. In Shakespeare s Julius Caesar, Brutus and his conspirators murder Caesar and convince the people of Rome that it was a justified act. Mark Antony, a friend of Caesar, seeks justice for his dear friend. In his funeral speech Antony uses rhetorical strategies to persuade the Romans that Caesar s death was unjustified. Through persuasion, Antony uses the strategies: rhetorical questions, verbal irony and the appeal of pathos to sway the Romans to believe that Caesar s murder was unjust. Furthermore, Antony s use of rhetorical questions has an effect on the opinions of the citizens of Rome. Antony effectively uses rhetorical questions to get the Romans to agree that Caesar s murder was unjustified. In this passage Antony focuses the crowd s attention on Caesar s body and tells them how his murder was a product of treason. In telling the romans that Caesar was killed by his friends, whom he trusted, Antony appeals to the emotions of the crowd. The citizens of Rome are clearly affected by Antony s use of pathos when they respond with O piteous spectacle (III.ii.192), O Woeful day (III.ii.193) and We will be revenged (III.ii.195). The citizens realize it is a sad day and feel pity for Caesar indicating an effective appeal of pathos. He is eager to seek for erotic pleasure through his adolescence, as he says I ran wild in the shadowy jungle of erotic adventures (p.24, i(I)). As Augustine grows up, he starts to realize that the motivation for his act is to loveand to be loved. However, he struggles between the pleasure of love and the iniquity of lust because he fails to learn that there should be a constraint between two. He argues that he stole things not because he admired them; instead, he enjoyed the feeling of committing crime and being evil. He and his friends sneaked into the vineyard to steal pears, and they throw them to pigs; they did this merely because they enjoyed the excitement of doing things that were not allowed. Augustine argues that the good spiritual things exist in the world because God creates them; if a person aims to acquire them, he has to obey the law and cannot apart from God. However, the world also has attractiveness because of the beauty of inferior things. The motivation for a crime is that they believe those inferior objects are more attractive, compared with God s giving. The pears that Augustine and his friend stole was beautiful, tasty, and could bring them true happiness, but this happiness was not what they were seeking for. Augustine wants to figure out the reason he acts in this way. He discussed that every desire no matter good or bad is actually the desire to be like God. For instance, pride relates to being noble, and God has the highest status among everything; curiosity represents the ambition to acquire the knowledge, and God is the most intelligent and wise. On the contrary, ignorance and stupidity derives from simplicity and innocence; however, there is no doubt that God consists the most simplicity and blamelessness. Idleness shows a desire to obtain quiet life, yet God keeps stable and unchanging forever. Therefore, Augustine concludes that all acts, including sinful ones, that move away from God s perfection actually seeks to return to

They influence the different levels of government by giving money to a political candidate. They write letters, emails, and make phone calls to the policymakers. Conversely, how does Jackson lull us into thinking that this is just an ordinary story with an ordinary town? 1. I. Was not really surprised by the ending to this story. I never really knew what was going to happen but I had a feeling that something bad was about to when Jackson wrote about the stones being gathered in huge piles. • 17. The Myths behind King Arthur King Arthur In this paper will be discussed the myths behind King Arthur. King Arthur was a British legend and over time the stories became a collection of stories written by different authors. King Arthur was actually a general in the fifth century that fought to keep Brittan a free paradise of the western hemisphere. With the different writers over the years writing about the great King Arthurthe stories got distorted and became more of myth than that of truth of the real King Arthur. The first writings of King Arthur were around 830 by an author by the name of Nennius, according to the Britons. There are many writings in existence today, as many as 200 over King Arthur. Much of the myths of King Arthur and the legends of Merlin and Guinevere are what people read today. Much of these are myths and not actual facts, though all started out with the actual life facts of King Arthur from his birth in Tintagel to his death, they just got bent out of shape with the different writers over the years. King Arthur was actually Lucius Artorius Castus, Arthur s name was originally Artorius, a family name. This is where King Arthur became more of a myth than a real person. The myths became more widespread when the marriage of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine in France. This is where the more romantic and spiritual myths began about King Arthur. In this time the author Chretien de Troyes of the French court wrote about the Holy Grail. This is one of the first of

Chiropractors use different types of inversion equipment to reduce compression problems between the vertebrae. The spinal cord is the single most important part of the active body, so the benefits garnered from using an inversion swing can be dramatic. Unlike standard inversion boards, or gravity boots that suspend you upside down by your ankles, an inversion swing allows you to move. This is an excellent tool to help with back issues because it removes the forces of gravity. As you invert your body, the compression between your vertebrae is eliminated. It allows you to improve your posture and work on increasing flexibility if you suffer from a chronic stiff back. The policy of containment in the U.S. is when we tried to prevent communism in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. This policy was unsuccessful because communism was more favored in the world than democracy was. Everyone believed this was the right way to live due to the Great Depression which left everyone poor and wanting to be equal with each other. This caused people to lean towards communism, which is the idealism of everyone being equal by getting paid the same for all different types of jobs, and sticking to one job that you re assigned to. This policy was unsuccessful for many reasons, but the top three events that caused this policy to fail are the Korean War, the Bay of Pigs invasion, and the Chinese Civil War. The Korean War was fought between North Korea and South Korea in 1950. North and South Korea clashed ideas because North was communist and the South was democratic. North Korea invaded the South. This disease has plagued mankind for centuries and mercilessly strips people of their independence and intelligence. What makes this disease so dangerous is the fact that humankind has only recently begun to truly understand how it functions, this means that humankind currently has no defense against said disease. Why does mankind only now understand Alzheimer s disease if it has been around for centuries? The reason is due to the lack of knowledge of the disease, especially by the public. If one were to go back only fifty years ago they would see just how little attention Alzheimer s disease received; few people knew about it and even fewer were; concerned enough to actually bother learning about it. Logically this brings to mind the question: what caused this relatively sudden shift in perception of the disease? It is no coincidence that the disease is now widely known and identified as a threat by the public and doctors alike. Several factors caused this shift to happen. Everything starts with properly informing the public about these types of issues, for this reason, this paper will serve the purpose of properly informing the reader on Alzheimer s disease. To do this, it will go back to the very beginning and trace the timeline of the disease. Once this basic foundation of understanding is created, the paper will begin to delve into the complexities and causes of the disease, and ultimately

OF
METHYL
BENZOATE

 Purpose:
The main objective of this experiment was to synthesize methyl nitrobenzoate from methyl benzoate, using the mixture of nitric and sulfuric acid by performing the process of electrophillic aromatic substitution. During this reaction, the combination of HNO3 and H2SO4 made a nitrating solution. The crystallization was done to accomplish pure product. The melting point and Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) were performed to test the purity of the product. Using the methyl benzoate reaction product, methyl nitrobenzoate, one can determine the meta substituted, para substituted and orthosubstituted of the final products. Furthermore, HNMR and IR used to investigate the quality of the product.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would indicate that during the recrystallization there was a reduction in the percentage yield of the production. The obtained final product melting point rang was 76.2 780C. This would show that the experimental melting point was very close to the literature value of 78 80В°C which denotes the meta substituted of the product. So, the analysis of the melting point confirmed that the product was methyl meta nitrobenzoate as it was anticipated. Additionally, use of the melting point analysis shows that NO2 group could be added to the methyl benzoate at the meta position successfully. The ortho and para products could have been also analyzed during the experiment; however, they were not chosen for the product (methyl benzoate) because they have unstable resonance forms that have positive charges near one another. The two positive charges that are next to one another can make the product to be unstable and as result ortho and para substituted products are not favorable in this electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction. Also, an IR of the product confirmed that methyl m nitrobenzoate as a favorable. A peak located at 1536.1cm showed of the Aromatic C=C. At the 1351.8cm 1 there is a 1 presence of NO2. Allen uses several literary techniques to present the insanities in life and how people continue to struggle with it in life which ends up in tragedies and cries. Throughout the poem, Allen uses an elegiac tone which is a tone of mourning. From the very first line, the reader is prepared for what will follow in the subsequent lines and stanzas. In the first line, Allen says he is outraged, and that is why is crying out to the world to stop the destruction of a generation. In general, Allen is crying about the oppression and subjugation in the society. The speaker in the poem appears to be smart. The speaker s words do not come out in a proper order which makes the reader imagine that he was from a long sleep and he has been awakened by the reality of things and he wants us to join him through his lane and tell us what he saw. We can trace it back to its roots, held deep in philosophy; even ancient Greek philosophers such as Plato introduced the concept of Anamnesis, suggesting that we are born with imprinted knowledge. Aristotle, a student of Plato, theorized the concept that we were born a blank canvas and the development of our minds are sculpted by our experience, demonstrating that modern psychological debates of nature VS nurture, and interests of the functions of the mind, have been discussed for centuries. Psychology as we know it today is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. • 36. Liberty And Justice For All By Francis Bellamy ...One Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and Justice for all... (pledge of allegiance) Few phrases evoke American patriotism in the same magnitude as the pledge of allegiance. Written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy, he hopped to inspire americans and remind people of what makes america great. In the final line liberty and Justice for all , Bellamy summarized the ideals our country was founded on and what we should continue to strive for as we grow as we continue into the future. That the government should preserve the liberty of its people. Liberty is described as the state of being free from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority.(dictionary). Communism is an exact example of the result of this type of government dogma. Citizens cannot own property, cannot choose their jobs, and have no say in their way of life. The government owns everything and allots it to its citizens as it sees fit(citation). While communism promises equality for all, this does not mean prosperity for all. Almost all citizens suffer with poorer quality of life, poorer environments, and often terrible working conditions. Without the motivation, or proper faculties to work, many communist regimes are toppled by financial ruin, unable to produce the money to maintain itself. By allowing citizens to choose their own occupation, production in a county increases massively. the highest functioning communist country (china) produces just over half as much as the lowest functioning free nation (Estonia), China only producing $6,807.43 per capita compared to Estonia s $18,783.04. The economic difference between liberty and security becomes even more clear cut when compared to countries like the United Kingdom ($41,787.41 GDP per capita) and the United States ($53,041.98 GDP per Capita). Social, Political And Economic Implications Of Money Throughout the course of this semester, we have examined the role of money in our society and have been introduced to scholars and economists that have offered rationale for the social, political and economic implications of money. One overwhelming theme that has lingered throughout most of the readings and lectures is the idea of inequality, particularly within the scope of the American economy. While other economies such as China or India are labor based economies, I have found that America s Capitalist economy is fueled by multiple facets racial inequality. The moral argument against racial inequality under an economic lens is simple yet, expected; when we deny opportunities for people of color in the same way we have them established... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Black men are being denied the chance of a full life with all of the rights; privileges and opportunities of white men and similarly, the families/communities from which they come from are also at a significant disadvantage. A National Bureau of Research study found that Black families between 2004 2008 were 54% more likely to be charged higher on their mortgage rates than white families. This fact alone drives two main issues I will explore in this paper: the implications of socioeconomics and how inequality drives the American economy through the lens of mortgage lending. One theorist I will use to explore these ideas of inequality is John Maynard Keynes. Keynes argued that capitalism is a mere congery of possessors and pursuers (Keynes 60) and he also asserted that economic output is only based on the aggregate demand . Between 2004 2008, when Black families were getting charged higher interest rates on their homes than white families with similar incomes, large banks were pocketing millions of extra dollars from these families as many of the rates today would have been considered sub prime rates . This predatory act placed against people of color encouraged classism and as a result led to negative socioeconomic outcomes moreover, the notion of white

The tsunami claimed lives, destroyed homes, businesses, and roads and left an excessive amount of debris. The impact of the tsunami also caused a major power outage which in turn caused a nuclear meltdown/explosion at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear PowerPlant. With the devastation of that day and the days that followed, there will be long term effects on the environment and the quality of life of the Japanese people. Server Controlled Multicast Chat System SERVER CONTROLLED MULTICAST CHAT SYSTEM INTRODUCTION An assumption that is intrinsic to a basic communication involves two parties, the server and the client. Here, our design is based on a chat application which involves one to many communication (i.e., with one server and multiple clients, in which the server acts as the central system administrator and has got control over all other clients who wish to join the network. BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE DESIGN: The Multicasting in java can be achieved by using the sockets and thread concepts in the Java networking programming. We consider two sockets, one in the server side that waits for the client messages on a particular port and the other in the client side to receive messages from each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once the user logs into the system with his/her credentials provided the server is started intitially and is waiting for the clients, it starts storing all the actions performed in a log called the Event log for the corresponding user session. It requires the user to run the Client login program every time of a new user wants to connect. The message sent by user hits the server first and the user makes it display on all the screen of all other users who are online. This is the main focus of our design and is implemented using the threading. Also, if a user logs off, all other users of the group will be notified of it and the logged off users loses access over the application. He has to login again to achieve a connection with the system once again. SPECIAL ASSUMPTIONS: 1) A user who wishes to login can successfully login with any name, provided the password is 12345 . The system is designed in such a way for simplicity as this is not the main focus of our design. 2) Any multiple number of the users can login with the same username, because the system treats them as different individuals as each and every client is referenced by a unique id. 3) Once a user wishes to log off, he sends a Goodbye message and the server disconnects him from the application and notifies to all other users currently connected. TESTING: 1) Our system works fine at both the circumstances, when the server

It differs from the small intestine in its greater caliber, its more fixed position, its sacculated form, and in possessing certain appendages to its external coat, the appendices epiploicae. Further, its longitudinal muscular fibers do not form a continuous layer around the gut, but are arranged in three longitudinal bands. The large intestine is divided into the cecum, colon, rectum, and anal canal (Henry Gray 2004). I The Cecum: It is attached to the ileum and extends approximately two and one half inches below it. The cecum in an adult usually is adherent to the posterior wall of the peritoneal cavity and has a serosal covering on its anterior wall only. The cecum forms a blind pouch from which the appendix projects (Henry Gray 2004). Its size is variously estimated by different authors, but on an average it may be said to be 6.25 cm in length and 7.5 cm in width. It rests on the iliacus psoas major muscles, usually in contact with the anterior abdominal wall. (Henry Gray , 2004). II The colon: The colon functions as a reservoir moving its contents caudally toward the anal canal. It is divided into four parts: the ascending colon, the transverse colon, the descending colon, and the sigmoid colon ( Fenoglio et al,1999). пЃ±Ascending colon: It is approximately six inches long and extends upward from the ileo cecal valve to the hepatic

  • 49. The Six Major Barriers Of Effective Communication The Six Major Barriers of Effective Communication Language can be loaded with meaning, beyond its dictionary definition. The meaning of language is often encapsulated in culture from micro interpersonal to macro international. Culture defines who we are and it is expressed in the language we use. When culture is defined as a set of customs, traditions, beliefs, etc., it is more than just a national identity: it is a Sunday social group, a visible minority or youth group, a family run company, a corporate entity, a community. Culture encompasses that which we identify with as a member of society whether it be a large or small group within society. In today s world of business communication using a common lingua franca such as English helps to make communication more fluid but it is often not enough to bridge cross cultural gaps and common misunderstandings. In our communication we need to be careful in the language we use and the meaning we either knowingly or unknowingly impart on our listeners. (Czako,K., 2015) In our Business Communications text, the author (McLean, S. 2010) cites 6 major barriers to communications. These major barriers are common in all languages around the world and are therefore universal in their manifestation. They embody the culture of a nation as much as they embody the daily life of a local community group or individual. We identify with and use them on a daily basis. However their place in a business setting is not always appreciated or
