How To Write A Good Paragraph For An
Essay
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of composing a well-structured paragraph for an essay might
initially seem like a straightforward task, but delving into the process reveals a complexity that
demands careful consideration. The challenge lies not only in conveying the basic rules and
guidelines but also in striking a balance between creativity and adherence to established norms.
To begin with, one must navigate the nuances of constructing a coherent and focused paragraph,
ensuring that it seamlessly aligns with the overall theme of the essay. This requires a deep
understanding of the subject matter, as well as the ability to synthesize information effectively.
Identifying the main idea and supporting details, and then organizing them in a logical sequence,
poses a challenge that demands both analytical and creative thinking.
Furthermore, achieving clarity and conciseness is a constant struggle. The writer must strike a
delicate balance between providing enough information to convey the intended message and
avoiding unnecessary verbosity that may dilute the impact of the paragraph. Precision in
language and a keen awareness of the target audience become paramount, adding layers of
complexity to the writing process.
Crafting a good paragraph also involves mastering the art of transitions. The seamless flow from
one idea to the next is essential for maintaining the reader's engagement. This requires a nuanced
understanding of how different sentences and ideas connect, creating a cohesive narrative that
guides the reader through the essay.
In addition to the technical aspects, the writer must also grapple with the challenge of injecting
creativity and originality into the paragraph. Striking a balance between adhering to formal
writing conventions and infusing a personal touch can be a delicate dance. This requires a keen
awareness of the essay's purpose and the intended tone, adding another layer of complexity to
the task.
In conclusion, writing an essay on how to compose a good paragraph is a task that goes beyond
the surface simplicity of the topic. It demands a multifaceted approach, requiring a blend of
analytical thinking, creativity, and a deep understanding of language conventions. Successfully
navigating these challenges is essential for producing an essay that not only informs but also
captivates the reader.

Destruction Of Mycenae Essay
There have been many suggestions and hypotheses to explain that the destruction
of the Mycenaean civilisation. This ranges from foreign invasion, civil war,
collapse in trade, drought and natural disasters. All of these could be possible
hypotheses as to why the Mycenaean civilisations fell, but none are certain as
there is not enough evidence to back these hypotheses up. Mycenae was a very
successful and powerful city. This would make it hard for the city to be brought
down and for everything to be forgotten. Foreign invasion is a plausible hypothesis
for the destruction of Mycenae. The theory is that there was a mass invasion by
outsiders known to the Egyptians as the sea people who invaded Egypt earlier as
well. The sea people could have invaded Mycenae and then settle in their land. This
is a plausible hypothesis except there is no evidence to back it up, as there have
been no foreign objects found in all of the ruins. This... Show more content on

The fact that the Mycenaean civilisation was such a strong and powerful
civilisation really shows that anything can happen. Life is so unpredictable and
especially in the cases of natural disasters it is ruthless. Natural disasters cannot be
avoided, they are inevitable. The danger of natural disasters is forever present,
they are powerful and overwhelming. History shows a very strong cycle,
civilisations rise and fall. They do not stay forever. For a civilisation to be very
stable and last longer than the rest, their needs to be strict rules, guidelines and
consequences for people who do not follows these rules. To stop war crimes and
invasion of other cities their needs to be rules. A stable government is very important,
leaders need to be strong willed and committed. Civilisations without these things
would be very fragile, they would crumble within
Claudio In Shakespeare s Much Ado About Nothing
In William Shakespeare s play Much Ado About Nothing , an ensemble of characters
are portrayed and developed through the storyline. As these characters are presented
with obstacles that they must overcome, both together and individually, we, the
audience are given insight into the the true nature and attributes of the characters
themselves. And it is this, how conflict within this text was used to reveal the true
nature and attributes of the character Claudio, that I will be discussing in this essay.
In the text, Claudio is portrayed as two things; a soldier and a courtier. Shakespeare
uses the idea/theme of noting to portray these two different sides of the character. At
first Claudio is portrayed as a Courtier. This is within the beginning ... Show more

And this is how the main obstacle and climax of the text will come about. Don
John plans to falsely accuse Hero of being unfaithful, the night before her wedding
and make sure that Claudio believes and acts on the slander. To do this, Don John
enlists the help of two other characters, one of which being Margaret, who is ogf
close relation to Hero (she does not know of her involvement in the plot). Claudio is
then tricked into seeing Margaret, who he believes to be Hero, betraying him the
night before their wedding. Claudio does not think to enquire about this to Hero,
rather he declares that the following morning at the wedding ceremony he will shame
her . It is now clear that Claudio is nothing remotely similar to an honourable courtier,
but is instead a soldier who thinks without thought or logic and is quick to act on his
own misguided conceptions of the
Changing Face of Banking Services
Liberalization brought several changes to Indian service industry. Probably Indian
banking industry learnt a tremendous lesson. Pre liberalization, all we did at a bank
was deposit and withdraw money. Service standards were pathetic, but all we could
do was grin and bear it. Post liberalization, the tables have turned. It s a consumer
oriented market there.
Technology is revolutionizing every field of human endeavor and activity. One of
them is introduction of information technology into capital market. The internet
banking is changing the banking industry and is having the major effects on banking

Over the years, the banking sector in India has seen a no. of changes. Most of the
banks have begun to take an innovative approach towards banking with the objective
of creating more value for customers and consequently, the banks. Some of the
significant changes in the banking sector are discussed below.
MOBILE BANKING
Taking advantages of the booming market for mobile phones and cellular services,
several banks have introduced mobile banking which allows customers to perform
banking transactions using their mobile phones. For instances HDFC has introduced
SMS services. Mobile banking has been especially targeted at people who travel
frequently and to keep track of their banking transaction.
RURAL BANKING
One of the innovative scheme to be launched in rural banking was the KISAN
CREDIT CARD (KCC) SCHMME started in fiscal 1998 1999 by NABARD. KCC
mode it easier for framers to purchase important agricultural inputs. In addition to
regular agricultural loans, banks to offer several other products geared to the needs
of the rural people.
Private sector Banks also realized the potential in rural market. In the early 2000 s
ICICI bank began setting up internet kiosks in rural Tamilnadu along with ATM

Fifa Women s World Cup Essay
Thirty million dollars, that s what the German National Soccer team made last year
for winning the World Cup. The World Cup is one of the most prestigious
accomplishments in any sport. The players in the World Cup are some of the hardest
working, highest paid athletes in the world. These players are paid tremendous
amounts of money by their club, their country, and FIFA. However this is not the
only World Cup, on a different four year rotation is the FIFA Women s World Cup.
The women in the World Cup are treated as inferior because of their gender in terms
of payment, respect and also treated poorly by their own governing body.
The FIFA Women s World Cup started in 1991 as a twelve team tournament. It has
since expanded to a 24 team tournament that features tremendous athletic ability and
intense competition. The United States has won the Women s World Cup three times,
more than any other country, and is currently recognized by FIFA as the best team in
the world.
The Federation International de Football Association, FIFA, or in English the
International Federation of Association Football, is the governing body of soccer and
soccer related games, such as futsal and beach soccer. FIFA is a non profit
organization with the responsibility of governing the game of soccer by making the
laws of the game, overseeing club and national completion, and organizing
championships. FIFA is also in charge of both the men and women s world cups. For
the men FIFA perform these duties
Summary Of My Name Is Joey Tribbiani And I
My name is Joey Tribbiani and I live in an apartment with my friend Chandler
Geller. I am a very talented actor. My friends live right next to us. We visit them
daily and meet up at the coffee house next to us in Manhattan,New York City my
home. And the big thing about me is that I have a superpower. My superpower is
Telekinesis and nobody will ever know. I found out I had this ability when I was 10
years old. I was lying in my home just outside of Queens and everything just started
to fly everywhere when I was frustrated because I was not allowed to go to my friends
birthday party because it was snowing and my mom thought I would catch a cold. I
have learned to control superpower and I use it alot when nobody is around
including my best friends Chandler Geller, Rachel Smith, Monica Green and Ross
Bing. But my life has changed now.
When Chandler said he would go shopping for some food in our apartment he
never came back. There Is now a criminal in my life. He kidnapped my Chandler
and left a note at our apartment. It said if I wanted to see Chandler again meet on
in Central Park at 12:00 AM! He also said if I notify the police he will murder
Chandler. If you bring any one with me he will still kill Chandler. I raced across
the hall to tell Monica and rachel. Right after after I told them they cried a little but
I had no time to comfort them because I had to save Chandler. I have to go save him
at Central park. But why would Chazz even know me? What does he want with me?
Roman Art Comparison Essay
If one was to describe the Roman art, in my opinion the words realistic, and
functional, would give it judgment; which perhaps would describe rather well the
pragmatic Romans. Undoubtedly, both the painting and sculpture has its own
purpose, and a unique place in society; the Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci,
has rather explicit opinion on the topic: A sculptor says that his art is more worthy
than painting because, fearing humidity, fire, heat, and cold less than painting, it is
more eternal. The response to him is that such a thing does not make the sculptor
more dignified because the permanence is born from the material and not from the
artificer. This dignity can also belong to painting by painting with colored glazes on
metal or terracotta... (Da Vinci, n.a.). According to Leonardo, the sculpture is more
eternal; it will last quite long time, the weather and the elements, will not... Show

In tempera the pigments were mixed with an adhesive and laid upon a dry surface.
The paintings would be applied either to the internal or external walls of the
buildings, where they would become an internal part of the structure. The Romans
seldom placed any furniture against the walls, nor did they hang any pictures on the
walls, so those paintings served as an elaborate decoration, and part of the
architectural design. (Durant, 1972). As one can see, the painting arts were a domain
of a skilled interior decorators , rather than artists in our sense of understanding;
which should give one a clue to the function of art in the Roman society. One should
not omit the fact that it was Romans who invented the landscape painting, and a
crude form of a linear perspective; furthermore, to satisfy the huge demand for
painting arts, the roman artists produced panel paintings, in encaustic and tempera,
including their own triumphal history painting. (Roman art,

Television is one of the most valuable contributions of the scientists in the last
century. The world s first real television picture was produced by a Scottish inventor
called John Logie Baird in 19251. It was nearly a hundred years to the first television

suggests that the variation among living organisms and the evolution of a species is
caused by the theory of natural selection. As a non living organism, the development
of television is similar to the evolution of living species which obeying the Darwin s

South Asian Culture
The popularization of South Asian culture through its use by mainly white female
celebrities alludes to the idea that white women exotify South Asian culture, as it
makes them feel as though they are more ethnic. Similarly, as it is mainly white
women, even celebrities, who are those adorned with bindis and other symbols of
South Asian culturein American media, it alludes to the idea that white women are
seen as more desirable and are more praised in society than those who do not fit that
standard. Maira had noticed that many of the people who were ready to adopt these
cultural elements were mainly white women, speaking to the idea of white
imperialism and white supremacy. Through a testimonial from Madonna regarding

He describes it as if it restricts us from trying new cultures and partaking in
multiculturalism. While he brings up the valid argument that one cannot adopt a
culture simply because they have cultural ties to it as that fails to, as well as
understand the struggles that people of color face in America by being undermined
by white people, he fails to address the idea that people who adopt parts of a culture
after finding out that they have that heritage are only trying to figure out themselves,
while cultural appropriation is defined as one adopting aspects of a culture and only
using it as fashion without trying to learn its significance.
Cultural appropriation allows for the identity of the culture to be changed and
diminished, as the constant commodification and misuse of cultural artifacts aids in
changing how the culture is perceived. Through her critique of Sita Sings the Blues,
a film retelling of the ancient Hindu epic poem of Ramayana, Lodhia argues that
when a part of a culture goes through a commodification process, the way that others
view that aspect become skewed, shifting from the original meaning and purpose. As
the film was written and directed by a white woman, as well as the fact that the film
was an exotified version of the story, the film experienced severe backlash from
Hindu Americans. The film itself excessively exotifies and sexualizes the protagonist

My First Job At Dsw
Upon applying to my first job at DSW as a high school student, the only thought in
my mind was the ability to make my own money and spend it how I choose.
However, now as I am about to graduate, I have acquired more wisdom and
understanding when it comes to selecting a job for myself. Money is only part of the
equation to truly being satisfied with a job. The other parts of the equation include:
management, the team, challenges, and a company s values.
Management is key when it comes to applying for a job. Matter of fact it is so
important that I was advised by the mentors in my life to keep that in the forefront
of my mind when considering any job and/or internship. It is key for a manager to
provide regular feedback on my performance.
Future Writing
How I Will Use Writing in My Life and in the Future
At one point or another everyone will use writing throughout the span of their
lifecycle. These writings can take many different forms. From speeches, personal or
public journal entries, newspaper or magazine writings, to internet blogs; just to
name a few. In my lifecycle now and in the future I will use writing in several
different forms. College papers, is the first form of writing that I am currently
encountering in my life. I will continue to experience this form of writing in the
future as I continue to embark on my collegiate journey. Currently, I write 4 papers
at least per semester that I am enrolled in school. These papers are expected to

Journal writings for me are personal. Although, I do use journal writings within this
English course as well. While writing most of my journals are personal, it does feel
wonderful to get my thoughts and feelings out onto paper. It is the most freeing and
enjoyable form of writing that I use. Speeches are the third form of writing that I
currently use and will continue to use throughout my college career. Speeches are
the most dreaded form of writing for me. When writing a speech I have a tendency
to overthink and revise my speech several times, never getting it to be just perfect.
Although speeches are a form of writing that I currently use and will use throughout
my college career, I am hopeful that I will not have to use them after college. Emails
and letters are the final form of writing that I use in my day to day and will continue
to use throughout life. While emails and letters are a shorter form of writing, I find
that if they are not composed correctly, they can be misconstrued. When composing
these writings, as with most writings you need to watch the format, wording,
capitalization, and punctuation. I find this to be the most frequently used form of
writing that I currently use and will continue to
What Influenced Emily Bronte s Writing
Many famous authors throughout history received inspiration from their life
experiences, and Emily Bronte was one of them. For the majority of Bronte s life,
people considered her different and treated her as an outcast. Feeling insecure, she
became very attached to her family and home. Bronte s writing comes from a
private place influenced by her harsh upbringing giving reason as to why her
writing style was heavily gothic with romance. This also helped develop her vivid
imagination that is reflected in the description and imagery of her work. Bronte was
born on July 30th, 1818 to the parents of Reverend Patrick and Maria Bronte, who
lived in Market Street, Thornton. She was the fifth of six children in a family that
struggled financially. Their family lived off one income and when her father was

Not long after the family moved, Maria Bronte passed away. Maria s sister,
Elizabeth Branwell, took up the role as the mother of the household and instilled
many rules making the children well disciplined. The women in this household were
not confined to household duties, but were able to read and have access to literature
which inspired their imaginative works. The Clergy Daughters School in Cowan
Bridge, was where the oldest of the four Bronte children started their formal
education. The conditions of the school were atrocious and many students were sent
back to their homes due to illness. Of these students, Elizabeth and Maria Bronte both
got Tuberculosis and died within a short period of each other. After this tragedy, the
remaining children started their education back up in the comfort of their own home.
The learning style of the house was focused around using your imagination. Emily
and Anne did this together by creating Gondal, a
Russian Culture Vs Cuban Culture
Russia is the largest country in the world with a population of 145.3 million people
(Bradford, n.d). Its culture is one that has changed with time but has kept its
traditions and values, the country is one of several others that has experienced both a
communist and a capitalist society. Russian culture puts a lot of emphasis in family
and friends (Bradford, n.d). During communist Russiafriends and family had to help
each other in order to survive the extreme poverty that they had to go through, during
those times collectivism was developed and eventually passed to younger generations
(Bradford, n.d). While is true that Russia today is very different from the days in
which Communism was present people tend to follow the tradition of their parent and
grandparents.
Russian culture is defined by its ethnic diversity, religion, music, arts, and literature
which are admired and respected all over the world. The country currently has close
190 ethnic groups composed of Tartar, Ukrainian, Bashkir, Chuvash, and Chechen

depend on family and friends in order to survive the poverty that communism

collectivist behavior increase in strength. Cuba and Russia were really closed during
the time of the Soviet Union which created an exchange of art and literature that
enriched both cultures. If you go to a bookstore in Cuba you can still find novels

The Change Of Leaf Color
Typically, as nature starts the transformation process from summer to fall, the green
leaves on the trees begin to change into colors of reds, golds, browns, and oranges.
Eventually, the leaves fall off the trees onto the ground. Three factors contribute to
the change in leaf color according to USDA s Northeastern Area Forest Service
website, which include leaf pigments, length of night, and weather. The increasing
length of night and other ecological influences such as the temperature, rainfall, and
food supply trigger the biochemical process of the leaves (na.fs.fed.us).
Photosynthesisoccurs in the chloroplasts of the leaves. A chloroplast is a type of
plant cell organelle known as a plastid. Plastids support the storing of the needed
ingredients for energy production. A chloroplast contains a green pigment called
chlorophyll which is the agent that gives leaves their green color. Chlorophyll is
important to the photosynthesis process as it is the chemical reaction that facilitates
plants to use sunlight to produce sugars for their food (biology.about.com). During
the emergent season, chlorophyll is repetitively produced and broken down, which
causes the leaves to appear green in color. As the nights grow longer, the production
of chlorophyll diminishes and eventually ceases production. Depending on the type of
plant, as the chlorophyll becomes dormant, the color of the leaves begins to change to
reds, browns, yellows, and oranges (na.fs.fed.us).

Costco Leadership Challenges
Leadership has begun to grow in the 21st century like never before, but has been
vital throughout all of history. Every business or organization is in search for
people with an open mind that would be useful to lead and be successful. However,
there is a continuous amount of challenges for this new generation. These challenges
are due to the a variety of traits and skills necessary to strive in this era that are
missing, the diversity and inclusion that has created different types of leadership
styles, and the digitalization of this modern world. All of these roles come together to
create the leadership challenges of today.
Daily in this age, challenges overcome the leaders of all types of organizations.
Therefore, courage is necessary in order to be successful and continue moving
forward (Daft, 2015). Many true leaders get discouraged and do not find the way to
implement their goals and be successful. All of this is caused by the trait and skills
each person has and carries on. Also, there are other people that have too much self

A Little Bit About The Wright Brothers Past.
Since the beginning of time, man has had the desire to fly like the birds. Many
men created machines they had hoped would allow them to fly with ease. Some
were on the right track, but just couldn t quite make it work; others failed
miserably. It wasn t until two brothers from Dayton, Ohio, who dreamed like many
to fly, put their heads together. And through hard work, perseverance, and
creativity, made the dream of powered flight come true. Orville and Wilbur Wright
were the pioneers of powered flight, and opened the doors to the future of aviation.
In order to understand how this all became possible, we first need to know a little
bit about the Wright brothers past. Wilbur Wright was the older of the two brothers

And thus Orville and Wilbur Wright developed the far too familiar dream of flight.
Opening the doors of aviation means that everything had to start somewhere. For
the Wright brothers that began in 1899 when Wilbur later wrote to the
Smithsonian asking for books on aeronautics and technology on May 30, 1899,
according to Milestones of Aviation by Smithsonian Institution National Air and
Space Museum. Later in 1899 Orville and Wilbur built their first biplane kite which
Wilbur flew in July and August of 1899. July and August were the prime flying
months because of the air conditions and weather, which is why you will notice
that the Wright brothers fly mainly in the summer months of late June, July, and
early August. The Wright brothers later built upon their first glider, recreating and
improving it. Their more successful glider was flown by both Orville and Wilbur at
Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. On September 12, 1900, shipping crates transported
the 52 pound (without a pilot), 165 square feet glider to Kill Devil Hills. In 1902,
they glided a total of 700 times which is a major accomplishment considering that
these glides weren t just any glides that they did with their 1899 glider kite, because
these flights were manned. No one before them had successfully flown a manned
glider, this was a major milestone for the future of aviation. If Orville and Wilbur had
not successfully created this amazing contraption, we would still
Gender Roles Research Paper
Is it a Boy or a Girl? When a child is born, it does not know anything about the
world. As it gets older, the child learns morals and values from the people around it.
One concept children learn is the role of gender in their lives. Young boys and girls
are given different messages about what they are and are not supposed do in social
situations, causing them to act and dress differently from one another. Genderis not
something tangible that happens; it is something perceived by American society.
Only by teaching children that there is no difference between men and women can
the world have true gender neutrality. As soon as a child is old enough to understand
what is going on around it, it has already been subjected to the sexist... Show more

Many people have tried to study the psychological differences between genders and
found that there are very few. One such study, conducted by Janet Shibley Hyde,
used meta analysis to compare men s and women s reactions to certain social
situations. Using the equation difference is equal to the mean score for males
minus the mean score for women divided by the within gender standard deviation,
Shibley Hyde found that most differences were close to zero, difference was equal to
or less than .1, and very few were large dissimilarities, where difference was above
.66 (Shibley Hyde). She also found that differences varied according to social context.
However, people s perception of gender due to society ignores these findings.
Women who exhibit agency, or assertiveness in the workplace, are considerably less
likely to be hired for a job than a man who has the same traits or a woman who is
sensitive and motherly (Shibley Hyde). Gender stereotypes also affect young men
in an even harsher way. Society believes that girls are more sensitive and more
likely to have self esteem issues. However, in Shibley Hyde s meta analysis, she
found that there was almost no difference between adolescent boys and girls issues
with self worth (Shibley Hyde). This could potentially lead to boys not getting the
help they need because society expects them to take it like a man .
It is commonly believed in American society that young boys need a father figure to

The Tortilla Curtain Character Analysis
Reading more into part two of The Tortilla Curtain, the character that I chose to still
analyze, and find more facts about, who s personality trait stood out even more to
me was Kyra. We can determine these traits by the actions that are described that the
character took in the situation that impacted her in some way. Another thing I
noticed was that Kyra expresses particular values on many occasions and at points.
Because the character expresses these particular values, I was able to ask the
question why the character says or does a certain thing and those also lead to the
speculations about the causes of behavior, its motivation, if the character goes
through significant changes and its effects. In part two I noticed that Kyra s old
habits seem to still be with her, after thinking that it will changeat the end of part one.
For example what made me notice Kyra s old habits was when Delaney was meeting
Kyra for a lunch date after he got back from the dealership and as usual, she was
really busy with work and she orders food already. She rushes there lunch, they had
so she can get back to work, she had to close a property and then she had to go

It is important to remember that each area of learning and development does not
work in isolation but they are all in fact interlinked. Good quality activities will cover
more than one area of development. For example, allowing children to access the
outdoors will not only support their physical development, but encourage their
communication and exploration of their environment. Where a child experiences a

This will impact on a child or young person s intellectual development as they will be
more alert and ready to learn, physical activity is also likely to encourage social and
emotional development as schools will provide sports clubs and after school
activities, giving children and young people the opportunity to socialise and progress
in self esteem.
For a child to understand the world, he/she will understand that people have
different beliefs, colour skin and religion, the world and technology. A child will
also learn other children s names, talk about family and friends. This has a huge
impact on a child s social development; they will have awareness of the world and
the people around them, and therefore are able to confidently make new friends as
they go through transitions such as moving schools. It is important that children and
young people are given the opportunity to speak about themselves, their lives at
home and also listen to others, and this gives them a perspective on the fact that
everybody does different things, others lives differ to theirs and this is something
that needs to be recognised and respected and not judged. Expressive arts and design
means a child or young person making new things, designing and inventing a piece of
art that is unique to them and their style, using a variety of materials and equipment.
It is important to introduce this at a young age, not only does this encourage a child to
Essay about Upton Sinclair And The Chicago Meat-
Packing...
Upton Sinclair and the Chicago Meat packing Industry
In 1900, there were over 1.6 million people living in Chicago, the country s second
largest city. Of those 1.6 million, nearly 30% were immigrants. Most immigrants
came to the United States with little or no money at all, in hope of making a better
life for themselves. A city like Chicago offered these people jobs that required no
skill. However, the working and living conditions were hazardous and the pay was
barely enough to survive on. This is the bases for Upton Sinclair s book, The Jungle.
Sinclair agreed to investigate working conditions in Chicago s meatpacking plants,
for the Socialist journal, Appeal to Reason, in 1904. The Jungle, published in 1906, is

They needed help from the government and local community. In other words,
machine politics. Politicians played an important role in the political machine. In
order to maintain this role, they received substantial kickbacks from the owners of
the factories. They would recruit people to help the immigrants become citizens of
the United States, and then pay the immigrants to vote for a specific candidate,
often several times. Before the Progressive Party materialized, there were just the
Democrats and the Republicans, and the one got the office which bought the most
votes. Readers were not concerned with the treatment of workers, as portrayed by
The Jungle, because they really didn t care for the working class, or more
specifically, immigrants. However, readers were shocked when they discovered
exactly how their meat was processed and prepared. Sinclair used just as much, if
not more, gruesome detail in describing the products the American public was
consuming, as he did when describing the workplace, living conditions, politics,
society and Chicago s scenery. In a futile attempt to build up the readers sympathy
toward the wage slaves, Sinclair also details the process in which foods not related
to the meat packing industry are prepared. For example, he writes, their pale blue
milk...was watered, and doctored with formaldehyde. The controversy over food
Kennedy Middle School Garden Case Study
The Kennedy Middle School fifth grade class is growing a school garden. The
students are very excited to grow a garden, but animals have been eating the
goods, so a fence needs to be put in. The total cost to fence in the garden will be
$159. The class calculated this by finding the perimeter (in feet) and multiplying it
by the cost per foot of fence, $1.50. The Pythagorean Theorem a2 +b2=c2 helped
find the hypotenuses of the two right triangles that the garden can be broken into,
which helped the find the perimeter. The class first wrote the Pythagorean Theorem,
which is a2 +b2=c2, to find the hypotenuses of the triangles. The legs of the triangles
were represented by a and b and the hypotenuse was represented by c. After writing
the equation,

Background
The Carolina Wilderness Outfitters is a retailer for outdoor enthusiasts. The
company was started in the 1930 s and grew to have a following of consumers from
its North Carolina residents within fifty years of growth. The head of internal
auditing Sue Ramos initiated an investigation after receiving a Tel Tel report. The
call that was noticed was from an ex employee from the company alleging that there
was wrongful termination that had taken place. Ms. Ramos had assumed that the
investigation would be completed and she would be able to move on to more
pressing matters until new evidence was presented last week showing issues with the
accounting for the company. Ms. Ramos did not feel that the allegation made by the

The Multi cultural and Multi racial Caribbean
The Caribbean islands are a group of diverse islands throughout the Caribbean Sea.
These islands can be as far south as the northern South America and as far north as
southern North America. These islands have a history that is steeped in its own
tradition and traditions from other nations. The Caribbean is a diverse populace that
has representation of many cultural and racial bodies. Many of the Caribbean

Initially, indentured servants from Europe were used as the labour to cultivate these
crops; however, as the sale of these crops exploded, Europeans began engaging in the
African slave trade to further support the harvesting of these crops (Thornton, 1993,
p. 182).
The history of African slaves is inextricably intertwined with the Caribbean history.
Many of the African slaves were sold into slavery but still were able to hold onto
customs and philosophical ideals (Thornton, 1993, p. 195). Though these Africans
were enslaved they still maintained many of their strong beliefs and warrior ideals
from their home countries. In fact, it is believed that these ideals were prominently
figured in the slave revolution of Saint Domingue that eventually resulted in Haiti s
independence (Thornton, 1993, p. 198).
The many historical influences on the Caribbean related to slavery and agriculture
had a continuing effect on the development of Caribbean islands long after slavery
was abolished. These influences are best demonstrated by the differing migration
patterns that occurred to sustain the agricultural based economy of the Caribbean
islands for the benefit of the European countries that had colonized these islands.
Migration Patterns
Slavery was gradually abolished throughout the Caribbean. European countries
became enlightened and realized that slavery was an inappropriate source of labour
(Young, 2015, p. 122). Despite the changing nature of the labour and the elimination
Property Dualism
Dualism is generally defined as the division of a concept into two contrasting aspects.
Dualism addresses the mind body problem by claiming that the body and mind are
separate. Various alternatives to the dualist theory propose the mind and body is
connected, materialism everything is physical. Nevertheless, dualists agree, that the
essential essence nature of conscious intelligence resides in something nonphysical,
in something forever beyond the scope of science (7, Churchland). This nonphysical
realm of the mindis considered to have a causal systematic connection with the body,
driving a person to act with purpose. This connection, between the physical and
nonphysical, is supposed to be what makes your body you and not someone else.
Dualists try to offer an explanation behind the connection and separation of the mind
and body by using senses and experiences to characterize conscious intelligence....

Substance dualism theorizes that the mind is divided into two substances, one that is
a physical substance(body) and one that is a nonphysical substance(mind). This
nonphysical substance, the immortal soul, is seen as a part of you separate from your
body, a part that could possibly live on past your body s physical degradation.
Property dualism is slightly different in the sense that it attributes the physical brain
as having a set of non physical properties, rather than a substance. This theory
works to narrow the gap in empirical evidence by no longer claiming some mystical
substance that lives on forever, but still attempts to account for the part of our minds
we have yet to understand. As a property, this theory can then be regarded as a
concept that cannot be reduced to the physical or explained by science, a science of

Vengeance And Vengeance In Beowulf
V is for Vengeance
Anglo Saxon culture consisted of receiving fame, glory, and wealth through acts of
vengeance and courage. Beowulf portrays these parts in great detail and shows how
destabilizing it can be. Through acts of vengeance, a never ending war occurs.
It is said in Beowulf that old tongues poke and prod youngsters to wars with
incendiary comments like, That sword, that previous old blade over there, I think
you know it friend. Your father carried it, fought with it the time he could swing a
sword; The Danes killed him and many more of our men and stripped the dead
bodies; The brave, bold Danes! (Beowulf pg. 86]. These words prompt the youngsters
to thirst for vengeance and glory with the mention of how their ancestors ... Show

In this quote, Beowulf believes that it would be cowardly to fight Grendel with a
sword and that facing him with only his hands is the only way to do it right. The
word struggle really shows how an Anglo Saxon life must be lived. In Anglo
Saxon culture, you had to show signs of struggle for everything you owned or else
it would seem as though it were illegitimate and others would look down upon you
if items or positions were just given to you. Those who take vengeance with
courage are thought deserving of the wealth they get from those of high social
status according to Anglo Saxon culture. A courageous warrior can earn quite a lot
and you can see this after the defeat of Grendel and Hrothgar states And take, in
return, whatever you may want from whatever I own. Warriors deserving far less
have been granted as much, given gifts and honored, though they fought no enemy
like yours. Glory is now yours forever and ever; your courage has earned it, and
your strength ( Beowulf pg,43]. Hrothgar is telling Beowulf that anything he has is
his. Beowulf showed great strength and courage when fighting Grendel and because
of that, Hrothgar believes that the glory Beowulf has earned is now unassailable.
Hrothgar uses words like courage and strength to show real admiration for Beowulf.
He knows that these are the words that warriors like to hear and what the Anglo

The History and Use of Clippers
Clipper cuts Clippers were invented October 14, 1919, by Leo J. Wahl. In 1911,
Leo was experimenting with a vibrating electric motor. He went to a engineering
school at university of Illinois. First he started out buy making massagers and
selling them to barbers. In 1919, he created the electric clipper, he created at the
manufactory company. One year later he was selling thousands of clipper to
barbers all over the world. He later created hair dryer, shears, shears sharpener,
curling brushes and clipper attachments. He was very successful at creating tools.
In 1921, Leo changed the name of the Wahl manufactory company to Wahl clipper

Introduction
The competency project consisted of case studies. In these case studies you also
had a list of terms. The terms were to be analyzed by dividing them into three
component parts. Most medical terms are made up of three things. The prefix, root
and suffix. There are some medical terms that do not have all three components.
Each term was to be broken down and then defined. Also you were to build one new
medical term from the terms that were on that specific case study. And the last thing
you had to do was define the abbreviation for each case study which had two.
A.Most medical terms are made up of a prefix, root and a suffix. Prefix is the
beginning of the term. The root is the foundation and the suffix is the end of the term.

It is very important in the medical field to know both written and oral communication
with patients and other healthcare professionals. Good communication skills doesn t
mean just talking it also means to listen. Verbal communication is applicable to a
wide range of situations, ranging from informal office discussions to public speeches
made to thousands of people. Oral communications is really important when talking
with patients. They need to understand what you are telling them, they need to know
what is going on. It will help you to know why the patients are in the hospital. Also
how and for what they are being treated. Knowing written skills is also very
important. You will need to be able to communicate with other professionals in your

you need them to understand is very important. It will benefit you, the patients, and
coworkers if you know how to communicate
Marcergens are those bacteria responsible for plant tissue...
Marcergens are those bacteria responsible for plant tissue maceration resulting in
total tissue collapse (Gwyn 2007). Soft rot diseases of vegetable is the most
characteristic symptom of tissue maceration in plant which begins as small water
soaked lesion, expands and intensifies until the tissue turns soft and watery.
Apparently, the outer surface of the diseased plant might stay unbroken, while tanned
and depressed, or enclosed in an exuding bacterial mucus layer. Foul smells are
common owing to the discharge of explosive complexes through tissuedegradation.

These macergens infect and destroy plant tissues both pre and postharvest and this
species causes the greatest damage to harvested vegetables (Amy 2007). There is
need to ensure a continuous cold chain from immediately postharvest to retail to
successfully manage this ubiquitous spoilage bacterium that only thrive well at
temperatures of 20В°C and above. The fluorescent Pseudomonads (i.e. P.
fluorescens and P. viridiflava) can macerate plant parenchymatous tissues at a
temperature below 4В°C, this cause for high occurrence of these bacteria on
decayed vegetables both at wholesale and retail markets. These soft rotting
fluorescent Pseudomonads and Erwinia, therefore become the major threat to
commercial fresh product operations and fresh vegetables precisely, from the farm
to retail and wholesale outlets. However, there are currently no commercial agents
available specifically for controlling soft rot (Dong et al. 2004; Latour et al. 2008).
Despite advances in vegetable production and diseases management, many
challenges face growers of vegetables, out of which the major one is the damage
caused by macergens (PГ©rombelon 2002). Macergens damage the tissues of
vegetable thereby reducing the quality, yields and shelf life and consumer satisfaction
of these plants. They usually cause great economic losses due to
Rooster Syndrome Research Paper
Ever heard of rooster syndrome? Well, it is a classic illustration of a misconception,
where it was once believed that because a rooster crowed just before dawn every
morning, then its crowing caused the sun to rise. So the form of thinking is: A
occurred, then B occurred therefore, A caused B, hence, rooster syndrome. It is
natural human tendency to assume that if two events or phenomena reliably happen
at about the same time then one is the reason for the other. However, this notion is
simply not true. Just because the crowing rooster and the rising sun seem like they
correlate, does not mean that one causes the other, therefore, correlation does not
imply causation. In this paper there will be an explanation to what distinguishes...

Instead, it is a fallacy to assume that just because two events are correlated they tend
to cause each other also. Unfortunately, it is often a very difficult matter to
distinguish true causal relationship; the only way to get close to finding the truth is
to rule out certain alternative hypotheses, thereby strengthening the case of causation.
Still, this method may be unattainable to a certain extent considering the fact that
there may be multiple factors contributing to an outcome or that some things may
have both a direct and indirect effect, or perhaps, simply acknowledging that there
may be more than just one answer to the

How Does Elie Wiesel React To His Father s Life
Never shall I forget those things, even were I condemned to live as long as God
Himself. After World War I Germany had suffered great loss. Their economy was
especially weak. The German people desperately seeked for a leader that could help
them. Adolf Hitler had won over the people of Germany and gained control. Many
thought he would be the one to save them. Hitler slowly began turning everyone
against the Jews. He said the Jews were the ones to blame for their country s
problems. Hitler began sending them to concentration camps in order to exterminate
them, this was known as the Holocaust. Between five to six million Jews were killed.

father, Wiesel wasn t ready to let go of his father. He knew his dad wasn t dead. So
he started to hit him so the guards wouldn t throw him out. At this point, Wiesel is
now looking out for his father, he wants his father to keep living. When they arrive
at the camp, his father grows extremely weak. He wants to rest but Wiesel grows
angry and frustrated, for example Wiesel states, I could have screamed in anger.

Dehumanization
Dehumanization Dehumanization, although a concrete historical fact, is not a given
destiny but the result and unjust order that engenders violence in the oppressors,
which in turn dehumanizes the oppressed (Freire). This quote by Paulo Freire
encompasses the destructive reality of dehumanization, which can be observed
throughout the history of the world. This concept of removing another s humanity
and dignity has left scars on the hearts of minorities who were considered to be
unworthy of basic humanrights. While the sinfulness of creation has lead to many
aspects of moral decay, dehumanization could be considered to be the pinnacle of its
depravity. Ultimately, this has lead to violence, war, and even genocide. Overall, this
term can be defined by the way in which it labels people who are different, devalues
human life, and destroys the humanity of those who institute it.
Labeling Those Who Are Different Dehumanization is defined by the way in which
one labels those who are different from them. When one person chooses to
dehumanize another, they are essentially developing an enemy image of that person
or people group. This negative image eventually becomes a stereotypical lens
through which the oppressing person views that other person or group. Unjustified
feelings of animosity, anger, and fear directed toward the group can follow and even
lead violence (Maiese, 2003, p.2). An example of this is demonstrated through the
way in which the company stereotyped the

Persuasive Essay On Community Service
The options for community service are endless. After narrowing down my options,
I applied to volunteer at the Crystal Lake Public Library this past summer. Having
to go in for an interview was a new experience for me, considering how I have never
applied for a job. I believe that the exposure to the interview process did two things
for me: first, it put me out of my comfort zone, and second, it taught me invaluable
lessons about applying for future jobs and programs. This is because I am the kind
of person who can get nervous easily, and I struggle to hide it sometimes. An
interview is a type of situation that I would feel nervous in; however, I was able to
overcome my fear and apply to the library anyways. Therefore, I learned what I
should expect to be asked, and I understand how I should properly respond. Once I
was accepted to the library s volunteer network, I was able to choose which
department I would work for in order to serve the community.
By volunteering at the library, I improved the Youth Services department,
particularly by participating in the Adopt a Shelf program. One part of my job was
to rearrange the books in the correct order when they got disorganized. This made
it easier for parents and children to find the books, movies, and CDs they were
looking for. Another task that I enjoyed was replacing the books to their proper
location from the clean up cart. It is important for books to be on the shelves
where they belong because otherwise it appears that books are not available. My
favorite part of volunteering for the library, however, was getting to help kids pick
out the books they were looking for. I remember many of the people I helped, but
one of my fondest moments occurred on one of my first days. I was working in
the junior fiction department, and there was a young girl there. She wanted to find
a new series of books to read for the summer reading program. It was special to
show her the novels that I read when I was her age, especially when she chose to
start the Mother Daughter Book Club books: my favorite series in middle school. It
was moments like that that made me proud to be a part of the Crystal Lake Public
Library and their volunteer team. As a result of my work at the

The Country Just Over The Fence By Paul Theroux
The Country Just over the Fence
In his essay The Country Just over the Fence, Paul Theroux describes his trip to
Nogales, Mexico. He begins his essay by illustrating the physical appearance of the
wall separating Nogales, Arizona and Nogales, Mexico. He calls it an unintentional
masterpiece . Theroux feels the wall is somewhat informal. He discovers that
crossing the border into Mexico is not too difficult itself. He marvels over the
appearance of the wall and also the underlying call to action it places on a person,
Do you go through, or stay home? Theroux decided he needed to see for himself.
After deciding to cross the border, he met many different people. They told him
about the celebrations that used to be held between the two neighboring towns
which are now divided by the wall. Theroux also met people who had attempted to
cross the border illegally into America only to get sent back to Mexico. On his
adventure, Theroux also learned about all the medical tourists who travel to the
country for cheaper treatments, specifically dentistry. I am interested in discussing
Theroux s presentation of the his decision to cross the border, the people he met, and
the medical tourism Nogales, Mexico draws in.
At the beginning of his essay, Theroux is at the crossing point between Nogales,
Arizona and Nogales, Mexico. He tells of a soldier guarding the entrance who gave
a slightly defensive answer when our author asked why he hasn t visited Nogales,
Mexico himself when it s
Audit Report On The Accounting Position Of An Area That
Is...
Provide a summary of the topic and why it is considered an area that is complex and
requires auditor judgment.
On an ongoing basis Auditors perform methodical and independent reviews of
paperwork, financial records, documents and receipts. Due to the complexity and
difficulty nature of assessing judgment on audit reports, the necessity to determine if
misstatements are material enough to be mentioned in the audit report and if the
existing accounting position of the business or industry can be warranted is essential
(Sun, 2016). With this information auditors are able to document and determine if the
information presented can be verified and if it represents a true and fair standing of
the company s financial statement at that given point in time. Internal control
deficiencies occurs in situations where the manner in which financial information that
is reported is hindered by restrictions placed upon management and employees.
Additionally, these boundaries hinders them from efficiently and accurately
identifying misstatements while performing their daily tasks (Graham Bedard, 2015).
Based on established internal controls auditors are able to perform different
procedures that are required to follow while performing an audit and also at the
conclusion of an audit to detect Internal control deficiencies.
Internal control deficiencies are considered a complex area that entails auditors
decision due to the likelihood that if deficiencies are not discovered in a timely
Mcdonalds Case
Identify the key elements in McDonald s global marketing strategy. In particular,
how does McDonald s approach the issue of standardization? Does McDonald s
think global act local? Does it also think local and act global? McDonald s is a fast
food legend that gives its consumers a chance to experience it delivering
inexpensive food with consistent taste regardless of location, quick service, and a
clean familiar environment. The key elements that McDonald s use envolve both
global and local elements. McDonald s offers american style hamburgers in most of
its restaurants around the world and the group people who are consuming this food is

As a student of marketing, what can you say about these factors? As a student of
marketing I can say that these five elements are the key to do everything you want
to do in the world of business. There is never a right time for anything that is why
you have to analize well each and every one of this elemets. People, when you
think of the people element you think which is your target market, you ask
yourself which one of the people such as young, old, teens, married couples, you
ask yourself which of the many group of people you are going to choose to work
with. Product, you ask what does the consumer need? What needs does it satisfy?
Which are the differences versus your competitors products? Place, you ask yourself
where are the consumers going to look for the product? Which distribution channel
are you going to use? Price, what is the value of this product to the consumer that is
going to buy it? Promotion, when you think of promotion you are going to think
when is the right time to promote your product, where to promote it, how to promote
it, these kinds of things. All of these factors combined can tell us how to put the right
product in the right place at the right time and having the right price targeting the
right people for the right product.
Is it realistic to expect that McDonald s or any well known company can expand
globally without occasionally making mistakes or
Essay The Invention and Impact of The Computer Mouse
The Invention and Impact of The Computer Mouse
If you ask people to name one of the most important technologies of the twentieth
century, one of the answers would most certainly be the computer. A computer,
however, is not a technology all to itself. Many other technologies went into the
modern home computers of today, including the mouse. Douglas C. Engelbart, a
worker at the SRI (Stanford Research Institute), invented the mouse in 1964.
However, the process of the invention of the mouse was not instantaneous and
without effect on the realm of computing and society. In this paper I will be
examining the problems that had to be overcome and the technologies that had to be
invented for the mouse to become a reality. It also ... Show more content on

That is when Bob Taylor, a representative of NASA, stepped in and collected enough
money from NASA to keep the lab running. Bob Taylor once again helped the lab by
getting more than adequate funding from ARPA (Advanced Research Projects
Agency) to support the work of Engelbart to its conclusion.
During the time when the mouse debuted computers had just arrived into the small
business market. They were still costly and not economically viable for home
computer users. Because of the great expense involved there was no need to cater to
the needs of the general public, which requires user friendly computers. User friendly
means that the computer s operating system and interface are easy to learn. The
change to using the mouse was also uneconomical for computer manufacturers of the
time because there was no demand for them except for the editing of text. Some
computers of the time were equipped with mouse support, specifically the Amstrad
PC 1512, but the mouse remained unpopular due to its limited uses. The first
commercial mouse was not released until 1982.
Hardware and software support is another problem the mouse had to overcome. As
mentioned previously, the mouse was released before most computer systems had
hardware support for it. Therefore, even if the computer used a program that
incorporated a mouse, there was nowhere to connect the mouse with the motherboard.
Also there was no code for the CPU (central processing unit) to understand the signals
Pinkie Pie Alternate Ending
So let me get this straight, Applejack said, casting an odd glance at Pinkie Pie, You
knew that singin and stuff was gonna work because ya didn t know it was gonna
work at all?
Pinkie nodded. Yep basically, it didn t make any sense for the song to create anything
just because there was a song so it started to create things.
It was actually quite genius, Twilight added, Choas Magic is a really tricky kind of
power. The whole way one uses it is by not trying to use it at all. I had never even
heard that song before but once I managed to tap into the magic too it just came to
me. Oh, I wish there were more books about it, we could spend years on just chaotic
musical numbers alone!
Applejack s nose scrunched up and her eyebrows lowered. ... Show more content on

I just tripped, that s all.
Nuh uh, Pinkie spoke up, examining the place where Rarity had fallen, You were
tripped.
Applejack glanced up at the other Earth Pony from her deep inspection of Rarity s
leg. That s what she just said, sugar.
Pinkie rolled her eyes and fished something out of the fallen leaves that decorated the
forest floor. I mean, someone caused her to fall over on purpose. She triumphantly
recovered a thin, snapped piece of wire and gave it an experimental lick. I really don t
think copper grows naturally in the Everfree.
Let me see that. Twilight s magic flared to life, bathing the trees purple and gently
lifting the wire out of Pinkie s hooves and into her own. The Unicorn turned it over
itself, scrutinizing it closely. It s new, she declared after a couple seconds, not the
wire itself but it definitely hasn t been sitting in the forest for more than a few hours.
How can ya tell? Applejack asked, joining Twilight in peering at the thin metal.
Twilight shrugged. It s not wet. If it was here for too long dew would have collected
on it like everything else.
So someone planted it, Rainbow growled, for
Alexander The King Of Persia
Darius successfully hid but was not able to outsmart Alexander or even his own
generals. Darius succeeded in hiding in Ecbatana (Hickman). He turned south
capturing Babylon, Sus, and Persian capital Persepolis (Hickman; Rufus).
Alexander burned down the royal palace of Persepolis (Hunter, 28). In 331 330
BC Darius was killed by his own general Bessus and other conspirators led by him
(Rufus, Wasson). Alexander officially conquered Persia after the Battle of
Gaugamela (Biography.com). He conquered the rest of the Persian cities one by
one until he officially ruled all of Persia (Langley, 20). Alexander declared himself
king of Persia in November 333 BC (Biography.com). The death of Darius, and
Alexander taking the throne of Persia, caused a... Show more content on

Many Macedonians married oriental women causing the fusion of the cultures.
Rome slowly gained Greek culture as its own such as alphabet, art, and literature
(Hackney). New empires emerged mixed Greek like culture with their culture to
create powerful ancient civilizations. Greek influenced cultures spread from the
Mediterranean to Asia from Alexander s empire (Clark). The many Greek
influenced cultures created a large spread of Greek culture, taking a stand, and
affecting modern society globally to this day. New Greek knowledge was spread
across the empire of Alexander. New schools of philosophical thought emerged
which focused on the individual (Clark). With Greek and Babylonian scholars
collaborating, much knowledge and progress grew quickly (Hackney). The spread
of new knowledge across the empire caused a great change in society in that time,
taking a stand, and influencing people to this day. The spread of Greek culture also
caused a large effect on art of different cultures. Roman and Hellenistic art may have
affected the portrayal of the Buddha (Clark; Hackney). Discoveries show how Indian
art adapted some Hellenic attributes (Hackney). The spread of Greek culture led to an
influence on art, taking a stand, and influencing society to this
My Interest On The Field Of Social Work Field
My interest in the field of social work field began with personal experiences early
in childhood. Not only did I obtain firsthand knowledge about mental health from
therapists, but I was also thrust into a helping role as a teenager. When I was a
child, my mother received therapy from a social worker and a psychiatrist after
my grandparents after she entered a mental hospital following a suicide attempt.
Although the social worker referred my mother to a psychiatrist for an official
diagnosis of depression and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) as well for
medication, she provided therapy after my mother began treatment and continued for
several years. During my teens, my mother decided that she wanted to discontinue
taking her medications, as her antidepressants had many unpleasant side effects.
While my grandparents initially disagreed with her decision they feared that going
off medication would lead to withdrawal symptoms of suicidal thoughts and/or
physical sickness. As a family of four, we decided as a group and in consultation
with doctors that if she was determined to taper off her medications, she would need
to spend more time in therapy to ensure monitoring of her symptoms or subsequent
behavioral problems. Out of a desire to help my mother strengthen her mental health,
I chose to play a helping role in her journey. Prior to her desire to taper off her
medications, I stayed at home during her therapy sessions. With the consent of her
therapist, I attended a few
Essay On Papillomavirus
Recipients of blood transfusions are potentially exposed to transmissible biologic
agents that are known or suspected to be associated with specific disorders. These
agents range from major known threats such as human immunodeficiency virus
(HIV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV), and Hepatitis B virus (HBV) to novel or emerging
agents of public health concern such as Dengue and Zika viruses or the agents
causing babesiosis and malaria. Human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA has been
detected in the peripheral bloodmononuclear cells (PBMCs), sera, or plasma of
patients with cervical cancer or HPV associated head and neck squamous cell
carcinoma as well as in PBMCs of healthy blood donors. However, the circulating
HPV and DNA have not been adequately... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any threats that can be resolved by a healthy individual might become problematic
for these patients. The blood safety becomes a major concern to protect them from
catching diseases from the blood products. In our preliminary studies, we have
demonstrated that intravenous infections via ear vein with papillomavirus induced
tumor growth at locally wounded skin, anogenital, and oral mucosal sites in these two
preclinical models. Transfusion with virus contaminated blood also induced tumors
at locally wounded sites. To further delineate the risk of blood born papillomavirus
and the viral DNA, we plan to determine the threshold dose with a serial of virus and
viral DNA dilutions. Both immunocompetent and compromised animals of different
ages will be tested in the current study to determine whether different threshold doses
for infection by the circulating virus exist. Viral presence will be tracked with our
established virological assays. Serum samples will be collected to monitor antibody
generation.
Specific Aim 2: Determine the risk of different blood products in the outcome of
viral infection Blood products contain red blood cells, white blood cells, sera, and
plasma. HPV DNA has been detected in different blood products including PBMCs,
sera, and plasma of HPV positive patients and healthy donors. Further studies
demonstrate that CD20+ and CD56+,

How To Write A Good Paragraph For An Essay

  • 1. How To Write A Good Paragraph For An Essay Crafting an essay on the intricacies of composing a well-structured paragraph for an essay might initially seem like a straightforward task, but delving into the process reveals a complexity that demands careful consideration. The challenge lies not only in conveying the basic rules and guidelines but also in striking a balance between creativity and adherence to established norms. To begin with, one must navigate the nuances of constructing a coherent and focused paragraph, ensuring that it seamlessly aligns with the overall theme of the essay. This requires a deep understanding of the subject matter, as well as the ability to synthesize information effectively. Identifying the main idea and supporting details, and then organizing them in a logical sequence, poses a challenge that demands both analytical and creative thinking. Furthermore, achieving clarity and conciseness is a constant struggle. The writer must strike a delicate balance between providing enough information to convey the intended message and avoiding unnecessary verbosity that may dilute the impact of the paragraph. Precision in language and a keen awareness of the target audience become paramount, adding layers of complexity to the writing process. Crafting a good paragraph also involves mastering the art of transitions. The seamless flow from one idea to the next is essential for maintaining the reader's engagement. This requires a nuanced understanding of how different sentences and ideas connect, creating a cohesive narrative that guides the reader through the essay. In addition to the technical aspects, the writer must also grapple with the challenge of injecting creativity and originality into the paragraph. Striking a balance between adhering to formal writing conventions and infusing a personal touch can be a delicate dance. This requires a keen awareness of the essay's purpose and the intended tone, adding another layer of complexity to the task. In conclusion, writing an essay on how to compose a good paragraph is a task that goes beyond the surface simplicity of the topic. It demands a multifaceted approach, requiring a blend of analytical thinking, creativity, and a deep understanding of language conventions. Successfully navigating these challenges is essential for producing an essay that not only informs but also captivates the reader. • 2. Destruction Of Mycenae Essay There have been many suggestions and hypotheses to explain that the destruction of the Mycenaean civilisation. This ranges from foreign invasion, civil war, collapse in trade, drought and natural disasters. All of these could be possible hypotheses as to why the Mycenaean civilisations fell, but none are certain as there is not enough evidence to back these hypotheses up. Mycenae was a very successful and powerful city. This would make it hard for the city to be brought down and for everything to be forgotten. Foreign invasion is a plausible hypothesis for the destruction of Mycenae. The theory is that there was a mass invasion by outsiders known to the Egyptians as the sea people who invaded Egypt earlier as well. The Change Of Leaf Color Typically, as nature starts the transformation process from summer to fall, the green leaves on the trees begin to change into colors of reds, golds, browns, and oranges. Eventually, the leaves fall off the trees onto the ground. Three factors contribute to the change in leaf color according to USDA s Northeastern Area Forest Service website, which include leaf pigments, length of night, and weather. The increasing length of night and other ecological influences such as the temperature, rainfall, and food supply trigger the biochemical process of the leaves (na.fs.fed.us). Photosynthesisoccurs in the chloroplasts of the leaves. A chloroplast is a type of plant cell organelle known as a plastid. Plastids support the storing of the needed ingredients for energy production. A chloroplast contains a green pigment called chlorophyll which is the agent that gives leaves their green color. Chlorophyll is important to the photosynthesis process as it is the chemical reaction that facilitates plants to use sunlight to produce sugars for their food (biology.about.com). During the emergent season, chlorophyll is repetitively produced and broken down, which causes the leaves to appear green in color. As the nights grow longer, the production of chlorophyll diminishes and eventually ceases production. A city like Chicago offered these people jobs that required no skill. However, the working and living conditions were hazardous and the pay was barely enough to survive on. This is the bases for Upton Sinclair s book, The Jungle. Sinclair agreed to investigate working conditions in Chicago s meatpacking plants, for the Socialist journal, Appeal to Reason, in 1904. Politicians played an important role in the political machine. In order to maintain this role, they received substantial kickbacks from the owners of the factories. They would recruit people to help the immigrants become citizens of the United States, and then pay the immigrants to vote for a specific candidate, often several times. Before the Progressive Party materialized, there were just the Democrats and the Republicans, and the one got the office which bought the most votes. Readers were not concerned with the treatment of workers, as portrayed by The Jungle, because they really didn t care for the working class, or more specifically, immigrants. However, readers were shocked when they discovered exactly how their meat was processed and prepared. Sinclair used just as much, if not more, gruesome detail in describing the products the American public was consuming, as he did when describing the workplace, living conditions, politics, society and Chicago s scenery. In a futile attempt to build up the readers sympathy toward the wage slaves, Sinclair also details the process in which foods not related to the meat packing industry are prepared. For example, he writes, their pale blue milk...was watered, and doctored with formaldehyde. The controversy over food

The students are very excited to grow a garden, but animals have been eating the goods, so a fence needs to be put in. The total cost to fence in the garden will be $159. The class calculated this by finding the perimeter (in feet) and multiplying it by the cost per foot of fence, $1.50. The Pythagorean Theorem a2 +b2=c2 helped find the hypotenuses of the two right triangles that the garden can be broken into, which helped the find the perimeter. The class first wrote the Pythagorean Theorem, which is a2 +b2=c2, to find the hypotenuses of the triangles. The legs of the triangles were represented by a and b and the hypotenuse was represented by c. After writing the equation,

Initially, indentured servants from Europe were used as the labour to cultivate these crops; however, as the sale of these crops exploded, Europeans began engaging in the African slave trade to further support the harvesting of these crops (Thornton, 1993, p. 182). The history of African slaves is inextricably intertwined with the Caribbean history. Many of the African slaves were sold into slavery but still were able to hold onto customs and philosophical ideals (Thornton, 1993, p. 195). Though these Africans were enslaved they still maintained many of their strong beliefs and warrior ideals from their home countries. In fact, it is believed that these ideals were prominently figured in the slave revolution of Saint Domingue that eventually resulted in Haiti s independence (Thornton, 1993, p. 198). The many historical influences on the Caribbean related to slavery and agriculture had a continuing effect on the development of Caribbean islands long after slavery was abolished. These influences are best demonstrated by the differing migration patterns that occurred to sustain the agricultural based economy of the Caribbean islands for the benefit of the European countries that had colonized these islands. Dualism addresses the mind body problem by claiming that the body and mind are separate. Various alternatives to the dualist theory propose the mind and body is connected, materialism everything is physical. Nevertheless, dualists agree, that the essential essence nature of conscious intelligence resides in something nonphysical, in something forever beyond the scope of science (7, Churchland). This nonphysical realm of the mindis considered to have a causal systematic connection with the body, driving a person to act with purpose. This connection, between the physical and nonphysical, is supposed to be what makes your body you and not someone else. Substance dualism theorizes that the mind is divided into two substances, one that is a physical substance(body) and one that is a nonphysical substance(mind). This nonphysical substance, the immortal soul, is seen as a part of you separate from your body, a part that could possibly live on past your body s physical degradation. Property dualism is slightly different in the sense that it attributes the physical brain as having a set of non physical properties, rather than a substance. This theory works to narrow the gap in empirical evidence by no longer claiming some mystical substance that lives on forever, but still attempts to account for the part of our minds we have yet to understand. As a property, this theory can then be regarded as a concept that cannot be reduced to the physical or explained by science, a science of mental

Dehumanization Dehumanization Dehumanization, although a concrete historical fact, is not a given destiny but the result and unjust order that engenders violence in the oppressors, which in turn dehumanizes the oppressed (Freire). This quote by Paulo Freire encompasses the destructive reality of dehumanization, which can be observed throughout the history of the world. This concept of removing another s humanity and dignity has left scars on the hearts of minorities who were considered to be unworthy of basic humanrights. While the sinfulness of creation has lead to many aspects of moral decay, dehumanization could be considered to be the pinnacle of its depravity. Ultimately, this has lead to violence, war, and even genocide. Overall, this term can be defined by the way in which it labels people who are different, devalues human life, and destroys the humanity of those who institute it. Labeling Those Who Are Different Dehumanization is defined by the way in which one labels those who are different from them. When one person chooses to dehumanize another, they are essentially developing an enemy image of that person or people group. This negative image eventually becomes a stereotypical lens through which the oppressing person views that other person or group. Unjustified feelings of animosity, anger, and fear directed toward the group can follow and even lead violence (Maiese, 2003, p.2). An example of this is demonstrated through the way in which the company stereotyped the

After narrowing down my options, I applied to volunteer at the Crystal Lake Public Library this past summer. Having to go in for an interview was a new experience for me, considering how I have never applied for a job. I believe that the exposure to the interview process did two things for me: first, it put me out of my comfort zone, and second, it taught me invaluable lessons about applying for future jobs and programs. This is because I am the kind of person who can get nervous easily, and I struggle to hide it sometimes. An interview is a type of situation that I would feel nervous in; however, I was able to overcome my fear and apply to the library anyways. Therefore, I learned what I should expect to be asked, and I understand how I should properly respond. Once I was accepted to the library s volunteer network, I was able to choose which department I would work for in order to serve the community. By volunteering at the library, I improved the Youth Services department, particularly by participating in the Adopt a Shelf program. One part of my job was to rearrange the books in the correct order when they got disorganized. This made it easier for parents and children to find the books, movies, and CDs they were looking for. Another task that I enjoyed was replacing the books to their proper location from the clean up cart. It is important for books to be on the shelves where they belong because otherwise it appears that books are not available. My favorite part of volunteering for the library, however, was getting to help kids pick out the books they were looking for. I remember many of the people I helped, but one of my fondest moments occurred on one of my first days. I was working in the junior fiction department, and there was a young girl there. She wanted to find a new series of books to read for the summer reading program. It was special to show her the novels that I read when I was her age, especially when she chose to start the Mother Daughter Book Club books: my favorite series in middle school. A computer, however, is not a technology all to itself. Many other technologies went into the modern home computers of today, including the mouse. Douglas C. Engelbart, a worker at the SRI (Stanford Research Institute), invented the mouse in 1964. However, the process of the invention of the mouse was not instantaneous and without effect on the realm of computing and society. In this paper I will be examining the problems that had to be overcome and the technologies that had to be invented for the mouse to become a reality. It also ... Bob Taylor once again helped the lab by getting more than adequate funding from ARPA (Advanced Research Projects Agency) to support the work of Engelbart to its conclusion. During the time when the mouse debuted computers had just arrived into the small business market. They were still costly and not economically viable for home computer users. Because of the great expense involved there was no need to cater to the needs of the general public, which requires user friendly computers. User friendly means that the computer s operating system and interface are easy to learn. The change to using the mouse was also uneconomical for computer manufacturers of the time because there was no demand for them except for the editing of text. Some computers of the time were equipped with mouse support, specifically the Amstrad PC 1512, but the mouse remained unpopular due to its limited uses. The first commercial mouse was not released until 1982. Hardware and software support is another problem the mouse had to overcome. As mentioned previously, the mouse was released before most computer systems had hardware support for it. Therefore, even if the computer used a program that incorporated a mouse, there was nowhere to connect the mouse with the motherboard. Also there was no code for the CPU (central processing unit) to understand the signals

Pinkie Pie Alternate Ending So let me get this straight, Applejack said, casting an odd glance at Pinkie Pie, You knew that singin and stuff was gonna work because ya didn t know it was gonna work at all? Pinkie nodded. Yep basically, it didn t make any sense for the song to create anything just because there was a song so it started to create things. It was actually quite genius, Twilight added, Choas Magic is a really tricky kind of power. The whole way one uses it is by not trying to use it at all. I had never even heard that song before but once I managed to tap into the magic too it just came to me. Oh, I wish there were more books about it, we could spend years on just chaotic musical numbers alone! Applejack s nose scrunched up and her eyebrows lowered. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I just tripped, that s all. Nuh uh, Pinkie spoke up, examining the place where Rarity had fallen, You were tripped. Applejack glanced up at the other Earth Pony from her deep inspection of Rarity s leg. That s what she just said, sugar. Pinkie rolled her eyes and fished something out of the fallen leaves that decorated the forest floor. I mean, someone caused her to fall over on purpose. She triumphantly recovered a thin, snapped piece of wire and gave it an experimental lick. I really don t think copper grows naturally in the Everfree. Let me see that. Twilight s magic flared to life, bathing the trees purple and gently lifting the wire out of Pinkie s hooves and into her own. The Unicorn turned it over itself, scrutinizing it closely. It s new, she declared after a couple seconds, not the wire itself but it definitely hasn t been sitting in the forest for more than a few hours. How can ya tell? Applejack asked, joining Twilight in peering at the thin metal. Twilight shrugged. It s not wet. If it was here for too long dew would have collected on it like everything else. So someone planted it, Rainbow growled, for
  • 46. Alexander The King Of Persia Darius successfully hid but was not able to outsmart Alexander or even his own generals. Darius succeeded in hiding in Ecbatana (Hickman). He turned south capturing Babylon, Sus, and Persian capital Persepolis (Hickman; Rufus). Alexander burned down the royal palace of Persepolis (Hunter, 28). In 331 330 BC Darius was killed by his own general Bessus and other conspirators led by him (Rufus, Wasson). Alexander officially conquered Persia after the Battle of Gaugamela (Biography.com). He conquered the rest of the Persian cities one by one until he officially ruled all of Persia (Langley, 20). Alexander declared himself king of Persia in November 333 BC (Biography.com). The death of Darius, and Alexander taking the throne of Persia, caused a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many Macedonians married oriental women causing the fusion of the cultures. Rome slowly gained Greek culture as its own such as alphabet, art, and literature (Hackney). New empires emerged mixed Greek like culture with their culture to create powerful ancient civilizations. Greek influenced cultures spread from the Mediterranean to Asia from Alexander s empire (Clark). The many Greek influenced cultures created a large spread of Greek culture, taking a stand, and affecting modern society globally to this day. New Greek knowledge was spread across the empire of Alexander. New schools of philosophical thought emerged which focused on the individual (Clark). With Greek and Babylonian scholars collaborating, much knowledge and progress grew quickly (Hackney). The spread of new knowledge across the empire caused a great change in society in that time, taking a stand, and influencing people to this day. The spread of Greek culture also caused a large effect on art of different cultures. Roman and Hellenistic art may have affected the portrayal of the Buddha (Clark; Hackney). Discoveries show how Indian art adapted some Hellenic attributes (Hackney). The spread of Greek culture led to an influence on art, taking a stand, and influencing society to this

Not only did I obtain firsthand knowledge about mental health from therapists, but I was also thrust into a helping role as a teenager. When I was a child, my mother received therapy from a social worker and a psychiatrist after my grandparents after she entered a mental hospital following a suicide attempt. Although the social worker referred my mother to a psychiatrist for an official diagnosis of depression and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) as well for medication, she provided therapy after my mother began treatment and continued for several years. During my teens, my mother decided that she wanted to discontinue taking her medications, as her antidepressants had many unpleasant side effects. While my grandparents initially disagreed with her decision they feared that going off medication would lead to withdrawal symptoms of suicidal thoughts and/or physical sickness. As a family of four, we decided as a group and in consultation with doctors that if she was determined to taper off her medications, she would need to spend more time in therapy to ensure monitoring of her symptoms or subsequent behavioral problems. Out of a desire to help my mother strengthen her mental health, I chose to play a helping role in her journey. Prior to her desire to taper off her medications, I stayed at home during her therapy sessions. With the consent of her therapist, I attended a few
  • 48. Essay On Papillomavirus Recipients of blood transfusions are potentially exposed to transmissible biologic agents that are known or suspected to be associated with specific disorders. These agents range from major known threats such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV), and Hepatitis B virus (HBV) to novel or emerging agents of public health concern such as Dengue and Zika viruses or the agents causing babesiosis and malaria. Human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA has been detected in the peripheral bloodmononuclear cells (PBMCs), sera, or plasma of patients with cervical cancer or HPV associated head and neck squamous cell carcinoma as well as in PBMCs of healthy blood donors. However, the circulating HPV and DNA have not been adequately... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Any threats that can be resolved by a healthy individual might become problematic for these patients. The blood safety becomes a major concern to protect them from catching diseases from the blood products. In our preliminary studies, we have demonstrated that intravenous infections via ear vein with papillomavirus induced tumor growth at locally wounded skin, anogenital, and oral mucosal sites in these two preclinical models. Transfusion with virus contaminated blood also induced tumors at locally wounded sites. To further delineate the risk of blood born papillomavirus and the viral DNA, we plan to determine the threshold dose with a serial of virus and viral DNA dilutions. Both immunocompetent and compromised animals of different ages will be tested in the current study to determine whether different threshold doses for infection by the circulating virus exist. Viral presence will be tracked with our established virological assays. Serum samples will be collected to monitor antibody generation. Specific Aim 2: Determine the risk of different blood products in the outcome of viral infection Blood products contain red blood cells, white blood cells, sera, and plasma. HPV DNA has been detected in different blood products including PBMCs, sera, and plasma of HPV positive patients and healthy donors. Further studies demonstrate that CD20+ and CD56+,
